CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN THE SECOND QUARTER OF 2013. IN LATE 2014 WITH LESS THAN $40K, CAR BEGAN "SHUDDERING". MOSTLY AT LOW SPEEDS AND WHEN ACCELERATING. DEALER COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE. DRIVING BACK FROM VACATION IN LATE 2014, ON THE INTERSTATE, THE CAR LOST POWER AND WE LIMPED OFF THE EXIT AFTER WHICH THE CAR WAS UNDRIVEABLE. NISSAN INDICATED IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE CVT AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. LOOKING BACK AT THE SITUATION ON THE HIGHWAY, GIVEN THE LOSS OF POWER, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A LETHAL SITUATION. FAST FORWARD TO OCT 2016 AND AT 88K, THE SAME ISSUE IS RE-OCCURRING AND THE DEALER INDICATED TODAY, TRANSMISSION WILL (AGAIN) NEED TO BE REPLACED. *TR
WHILE IN THE COURSE OF NORMAL HIGHWAY DRIVING, THE RADIO CONTINUES TO CHANGE CHANNELS, COMPLETELY UMPROMPTED. IT WILL NOT SWITCH TO A NEW PRESET, IT WILL ADJUST UP OR DOWN ON THE DIAL. FOR EXAMPLE, IF I HAVE THE RADIO ON 94.9, IT WOULD ADJUST ON ITS OWN TO 95.3. THIS IS HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY. *JS
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN A YEAR THIS SAME INCIDENT OCCURRED, ONCE IN RAIN AND NOW IN SNOW, THE HEIM JOINT TO THE WIPERS POP OFF SO THEY WILL NOT WORK WITH SNOW AND OR RAIN, I WAS TOLD IT WAS MEANT TO DO THAT SO SAVE THE MOTOR, REALLY, I ALMOST GOT KILLED BECAUSE OF THIS SO CALLED SAFETY FEATURE, I WAS ALSO TOLD THERE WOULD BE NO RECALL AND THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT THE SITUATION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID HOSE AND CLAMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V142000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,030.
OUR 2013 NISSAN PATH FINDER HAS BEEN "SHAKING"/SHUTTERING SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. EVERY TIME WE BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE THEY SAID IT WAS "NOT REPRODUCIBLE". FINALLY THE NOISE GOT SO LOUD THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. LESS THAN 2 DAYS AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. WE TRIED TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE REFUSED TO ACCELERATE. WE ALMOST CRASHED WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE THEN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OVER 5-10 MPH AND STARTED DUMPING FLUID IN MY DRIVEWAY. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY ASSIGNED A TECH WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO EXAMINE THE VEHICLE WITH US AND DOCUMENT THE INCIDENT. THE TECH WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR A MONTH AND THEY PUT THE VEHICLE ON THE RACK AND "FIXED" IT WITHOUT DOCUMENTING THE ISSUE WITH US. I AM GOING TO CHECK IT OUT TODAY. HOWEVER THIS IS SUBVERSIVE AND THEY ARE ACTIVELY NOT TRYING TO DOCUMENT THE ISSUE. THIS IS A DANGEROUS VEHICLE AND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE ONLINE. *TR
WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHUDDER, THOUGHT THE ENGINE WAS GOING TO CUT OFF, ONCE AGAIN WHILE ACCELERATING OUT OF A TURN THE CAR STARTED TO SHUDDER AGAIN. THIS IS HAPPENING ON A REGULAR BASIS NOW. BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP. GOING TO A NISSAN DEALER CAR STILL UNDER WARRANTY HOPEFULLY I CAN GET SOME RELIEF. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING AT HWY SPEEDS (65 - 80MPH) THE HOOD VIBRATES AND MOVES EXCESSIVELY IN THE AIR STREAM. IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S ABOUT TO POP OFF AND CRASH INTO THE WINDSHIELD. MY CONCERN IS FATIGUE CAUSED FROM THE MOVEMENT WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE THE HOOD TO FLY UP CAUSING AN ACCIDENT OR EVEN BLOWING OFF. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING AT HWY SPEEDS (65 - 80MPH) THE HOOD OF THE PATHFINDER BEGINS TO MOVE UP AND DOWN AS THE WIND CATCHES IT. IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S ABOUT TO POP OFF AND CRASH INTO MY WINDSHIELD. THE DEALER ORR NISSAN IN CORINTH SAYS THAT THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE PATHFINDER AND THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS WHAT NISSAN INTENDED WHEN PRODUCING THE NEW PATHFINDER. I HAVE A 2004 NISSAN TITAN AND IT DOES NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE AT ALL. I AM AFRAID TO TRAVEL ON THE HWY WITH THIS PATHFINDER AS I HAVE NO CLUE IF THE HOOD WILL DETACH AND CRASH INTO MY WINDSHIELD OR INTO A CAR TRAVELING BEHIND ME. THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY SERIOUS DEFECT THAT NISSAN IS DELIBERATELY IGNORING. I HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND AM WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM. *TR
I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN MARCH 2014. IT WAS A USED PLATINUM PATHFINDER WITH 4900 MILES ON IT. WITHIN MONTHS, I NOTICED A VIOLENT SHAKING WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS. I TOOK IT IN OCTOBER 30, 2014 TO GET THE SHUDDER FIXED. I WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG, ITS JUST HOW THE CVT WORKS. SO, I LEFT. ON JANUARY 22,2015, THE CAR LOST POWER AS I WAS CROSSING INTO TRAFFIC ON A 4 LANE ROAD. THIS NEARLY RESULTED IN ME AND MY CHILDREN BEING TBONED BY A UHAUL. THANKFULLY THEY WERE ABLE TO STOP IN TIME. IT HAPPENED ONE MORE TIME ON THE WAY HOME THAT DAY AS I PULLED OFF FROM A STOP LIGHT. THE CAR GETS TO ABOUT 20 MPH AND NOTHING. I IMMEDIATELY CALL JERRY ROME NISSAN AND TOLD THEM I WANTED A RENTAL AND THEY NEEDED TO FIX MY CAR. I AGREED TO BRING IT IN THE FOLLOWING WEEK. IN THE MEANTIME, THE POWER LOSS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN. AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, A MASTER MECHANIC TOOK A RIDE WITH ME AND I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO DO IT. THEY HOOKED THE CAR UP TO THE COMPUTER AND GOT NO CODES...AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE SO THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE SPENT THE PAST WEEK RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE AND I'M SURE YOU ARE AWARE, THIS IS A WIDESPREAD, VERY SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THESE CARS. NISSAN IS NEGLIGENT IN CONTINUING TO SELL THESE CARS KNOWING THE CVT IS TOO SMALL FOR THIS VEHICLE. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO. THEN I GET A CALL TODAY FROM JERRY ROME STATING THAT THEY HAVE A SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT THIS CAR SO THEY'LL BE REPROGRAMMING THE TRANSMISSION. I RESEARCHED THAT AND THE BULLETIN THEY'RE SPEAKING OF CAME OUT NOV. 2014. IT'S IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE KNOW THE SCAM THEY'RE RUNNING. THIS IS CORPORATE GREED AT IT'S FINEST. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOME POOR FAMILY GETS CRUSHED GETTING ON A HIGHWAY. MAYBE THAT'S WHAT THEY'RE WAITING FOR. *TR
MY 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS INTERMITTENTLY LIT UP THE DISABLED PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT WHILE A FULL-SIZED ADULT WAS SEATED CORRECTLY IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. MY OCS MODULE WAS REPROGRAMMED IN MAY, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECALL. YET, MY CAR STILL CHOOSES TO CLASSIFY CORRECTLY A SEATED ADULT WEIGHING 150 LBS TO 280 LBS AS EITHER AN EMPTY SEAT OR ONE OCCUPIED BY A CHILD OR SMALL ADULT, SHUTTING OFF THE AIR BAG ACCORDINGLY. WHEN THE AIR BAG IS OFF, NO AMOUNT OF FIDGETING OR RE-POSITIONING WILL MAKE THE OCS RECLASSIFY THE PASSENGER (CONTRARY TO WHAT THE SAFETY SERVICE BULLETIN UPDATE SAYS). THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME ON MY LAST VISIT CONCERNING THIS MATTER THAT IF MY PASSENGER IS RECLINED OR LEANING ON THE DOOR, IT WOULD DISABLE THE AIRBAG. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I HAD MY PASSENGER, A 6 FT, 240 LB MAN SHIFT TO TRY TO GET THE OCS TO RECLASSIFY HIM, TO NO AVAIL. THE ONLY WAY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE WAS TO STOP THE CAR, TURN IT OFF AND WAIT A FEW MINUTES. I SHOULD ALSO MENTION THAT THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO REPLACE THE SENSORS SINCE NO ERROR CODES ARE STORED IN THE SYSTEM. MY CAR HAS JUST COME BACK FROM ANOTHER "REPAIR" AT THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE I WAS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THEY HANDED ME A STACK OF PAPERS THAT EXPLAIN THAT THIS SOMETIMES HAPPENS FOR THE PASSENGER'S OWN PROTECTION, AND GAVE SUGGESTIONS THAT INCLUDED MY ABOVE "FIX." IT IS INSANE TO SUGGEST THAT THE SYSTEM IS WORKING PROPERLY, BUT I MIGHT HAVE TO STOP MY CAR AND WAIT A MINUTE TO MAKE IT DO WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO ON START UP. FOR OTHERS WITH THIS ISSUE, THE PAPERS ALSO SUGGEST THAT THE OCS CAN BE TAKING TOO LONG TO CLASSIFY YOUR PASSENGER BECAUSE YOUR A/C FAN SPEED IS SET TOO HIGH. THE "FIX" IS THAT YOU SHOULD SIT AND SWEAT SO THE PROPERLY FUNCTIONING OCS CAN DETERMINE THE CORRECT CLASSIFICATION FOR YOUR PASSENGER. *TR
DRIVING HOME AND GOING UP AN INCLINED HILL...I NOTICED MY VEHICLE(2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER) SUDDENLY HAD A HESITATION AND STARTED TO JUDDER ABRUPTLY...IT HAPPENED AT LOW SPEED OF 20-25MPH. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS CVT ISSUE AND HAS NOT ADDRESSED IT YET. I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO REPROGRAMMING THE CVT AND SEEING IF THIS RESOLVES THE ISSUE OTHERWISE FOLKS HAVE HAD THE CVT REPLACED AND STILL IN THE SAME BOAT....THIS IS A NOTICEABLE JUDDER AT 20-25 MPH ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2003 NISSAN MURANO WITH 88K AND THE FIRST OF ITS KIND WITH CVT TECHNOLOGY AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS TYPE OF JUDDERING ISSUE. YOU WOULD THINK NISSAN WOULD HAVE REFINED THE CVT TO A POINT SO THESE ISSUE WOULD NOT HAPPEN....I LIKE THE CVT TECHNOLOGY BUT NOW I AM HAVING MY DOUBTS. *TR
DRIVING WOULD NOTICE THAT CAR WOULD NOT GO WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATE SO TOOK IN MANY TIMES TO DEALERSHIP WHICH ALWAYS TOLD ME IT JUST NEEDED UPDATING SO IT HAPPENED AGAIN THEN THEY SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE. BUT THE THING THAT UPSET ME WAS THEY PUT A REFURBISHED ONE IN WHICH WASN'T RIGHT SINCE I BOUGHT BRAND NEW. STILL HAVING PROBLEMS TOOK AGAIN AND ONCE AGAIN NEEDED UPDATING DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO DINT UNDERSTAND WHY NISSIAN DOESN'T TAKE CARE OF THESE ISSUES OR BUY BACK THESE LEMON CARS FRUSTRATED. ALSO NEVER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FROM NISSIAN EVER SINCE I BOUGHT CAR I HAD TO GOOGLE SEARCH WHICH IS HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL *JS
THE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT INDICATING THE AIR BAG IS DISABLED INTERMITTENTLY LIGHTS WHEN AN ADULT PASSENGER IS OCCUPYING THE SEAT. THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. WE FIRST NOTIFIED NISSAN APPROXIMATELY IN AUGUST 2013 AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO ISSUES. THEN THE RECALL NOTICES CAME OUT IN APRIL OR MAY OF 2014 AND WE HAD THE RECALL FIX APPLIED. THE OCS STILL INTERMITTENTLY LIGHTS WHEN A PASSENGER OCCUPIES THE FRONT SEAT. SOMETIMES THIS CAN BE RESET BY TURNING OFF AND THEN TURNING ON THE CAR. *TR
PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT REMAINS ON WHEN MY MOTHER IS THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. SHE ONLY WAYS ABOUT 90 LBS, NISSAN SAYS THIS IS A CHILDS WEIGHT AND THE PERSON SHOULD BE IN THE BACKSEAT. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAD A FACTORY REPRESENTATIVE CALL ME. THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THING, I SHOULD PUT MY MOTHER IN THE BACK SEAT. I HAD MANY VEHICLES IN MY LIFETIME AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAD THIS ISSUE. IS THIS AN ISSUE WITH ALL NISSANS. WE ALSO HAVE A 2015 KIA OPTIMA AND THAT AIRBAG WARNING WORKS FINE.
I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE IN ON THREE SEPERATE OCCASIONS FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR COMING ON WHILE A PERSON OVER 100# IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE SENSOR LIGHT SAYS THAT THE AIR BAG IS OFF WHILE A PERSON IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. THEY HAVE RESET THE SENSOR SEVERAL TIMES AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. I AM CONCERNED THAT IF I GET IN AN ACCIDENT MY PASSENGER (USUALLY MY DAUGHTER) WILL NOT BE SAFE BECAUSE THERE IS A CHANCE THAT THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT IF I WAS THAT WORRIED OR CONCERNED THAT I SHOULDN'T HAVE ANYONE SIT IN THAT SEAT AND JUST HAVE THEM RIDE IN THE MIDDLE ROW OR THE BACK ROW. WHO WOULD SPEND $28,000.00 ON A VEHICLE AND NOT HAVE IT SAFE?? I WAS APPALLED WHEN THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THIS. THIS WILL BE MY LAST NISSAN I EVER PURCHASE. I ASKED THEM TO REPLACE THE SENSORS AND WAS TOLD THAT NISSAN WOULD NOT AUTHORIZE THIS REPAIR BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW WHY THE SENSOR IS NOT WORKING. THE COMPUTER DOES NOT REGISTER FAULT CODES. I HAVE TAKEN SEVERAL PICTURES WITH DIFFERENT PEOPLE SITTING IN THE SEAT WHILE THE SENSOR LIGHT IS ON INDICATING THE AIR BAG IS OFF. *TR
2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER WILL HESITATE (SHUDDER) WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST GEAR TO SECOND GEAR WHILE GOING APROX 20MPH. I HAVE ADDRESSED THE PROBLEM TO MY NISSAN SERVICE DEALER AND THEY GIVE ME THE CAN NOT DUPLICATE ISSUE, NO CHECK ENGINE LITE CODE. NOTHING THEY CAN DO. TODAY 12/30/14 GOING REAL SLOW BEHIND ANOTHER CAR APROX 20MPH THE PATHFINDER IS SHUDDERING AND BANGING LIKE CRAZY, AND LOSS OF POWER. PLEASE NISSAN CO. DO SOMETHING BEFORE SOMETHING MAJOR HAPPENS BEFORE YOU ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON WITH A OCCUPANT IN THE SEAT, PERSON WEIGHT 120 LB, AND THE CAR WAS REPROGRAM BEFORE WITH A RECALL NOTICE, ISSUE STILL THE SAME, HAPPENED SOME TIMES, AND I HAVE TO STOP THE CAR AND TURN IT OFF AND RESTART AND THE LIGHT TURN OFF, THIS IS AN ISSUE NEEDS TO BE RESOLVE DO TO A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO RESET THE CODE; HOWEVER, THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMP CAME BACK ON INDICATING THAT THE AIR BAG WAS OFF WHILE A PASSENGER WAS IN THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V138000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
JUST BOUGHT MY PATHFINDER THREE MONTHS AGO USED WITH 18000 MILES ME AND MY WIFE JUST HAD OUR SECOND CHILD AND WE WERE LOOKING FOR A THIRD ROW VEHICLE COMPARABLE TO THE HIGHLANDER AND WE THOUGHT THIS WAS IT BUT BOY WERE WE WRONG. WE PUT ABOUT 2000 MILES ON IT AND STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS. THIS PATHFINDER PUT MY FAMILY'S LIFE IN DANGER WHEN IT STARTED LOSING POWER AND JERKING IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY... MY WIFE SAYS SHE'S NEVER HAD SUCH A NEW CAR GIVES HER PROBLEMS LIKE THIS AND SHE NO LONGER TRUST DRIVING IT WITH MY THREE WEEK OLD DAUGHTER AND 2 YEAR OLD SON INSIDE. I'M GONNA GET RID OF THIS JUNK AND BUY A HIGHLANDER LIKE I SHOULD HAVE DONE IN THE FIRST PLACE. THEN I KNOW MY FAMILY WILL BE SAFE ON THE ROAD. NISSAN HAS FOREVER LOST MY BUSINESS, NEVER AGAIN. THEY KNOW THEY HAVE HORRIBLE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND WON'T DO ANYTHING TO TRULY FIX THEM ONLY TRY TO BUY TIME TILL THE WARRANTY EXPIRES. BYE BYE NISSAN *TR
I PURCHASED MY PATHFINDER IN MAY OF 2013. I LOVED MY SUV INITIALLY. STARTING AROUND JULY OF 2014 - I STARTED EXPERIENCING SHUDDERING WHILE DRIVING. THOUGHT MAYBE I NEEDED NEW TIRES. BEGINNING IN AUGUST - STARTED NOTICING THAT WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP THAT I WOULD LOSE POWER AND IT WOULD STAY ABOUT 20 MPH & AFTER PUMPING THE GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES THEN IT WOULD KICK IN. IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE AND MORE. THIS PAST SUNDAY WHILE STARTING TO ACCELERATE UP A HILL, MY PATHFINDER JUST WOULDN'T KICK IN. STAYED AT ABOUT 25 MPH & I HAD TO PUT ON MY EMERGENCY BREAKS UNTIL I REACHED THE TOP OF THE HILL & THEN IT KICKED IN. THEN THE NEXT DAY AS I WAS MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY WITH MY 2 CHILDREN IN THE CAR & MY DAUGHTERS FRIEND, MY CAR JUST LOST ITS POWER. PURCHASED ON DECEMBER 24, 2013, MY 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS A MAJOR TRANSMISSION ISSUE, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AFTER THREE SERVICE CALLS, AND ENDED WITH THE TRANSMISSION FAILING WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON A VERY BUSY INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. *TR SIGNIFICANT SAFETY EVENT. ON 6 JUL 2014, MY PATHFINDER?S TRANSMISSION FAILED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 95 OVER 150 MILES FROM MY RESIDENCE AT POSTED SPEED OF 70 MPH. THE CAR STARTED TO SHUDDER WITH A SLIGHT JUMP IN RPM, ACTED NORMALLY, AND THEN, THE TRANSMISSION GOT STUCK IN GEAR. WE MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUTDOWN THE CAR. I RESTARTED THE PATHFINDER AND REGAIN CONTROL OF THE POWER TRAIN; AS BEFORE, THE VEHICLE DROVE WITH NO APPARENT ISSUE. Aloha, When I’m driving my SUV and it hits 20mph or more my SUV starts to shuttering or jerking motion for like 2 secs after driving over 20mph, I took it in to get it fix but the shuttering came back after a few days. So I figure it was built like that. But now I can’t even drive it due to its too dangerous to drive. WHILE STOPPED AT A 4-WAY STOP INTERSECTION, OUR PATHFINDER DID NOT MOVE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 4,000 MILES BECAUSE OF SHUTTERING/SHOOK LIKE IT WAS GOING TO FALL APART. *TR
WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE MY HUSBAND IMMEDIATELY BEGAN SAYING SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE AS TIME WENT BY. TAKING OFF FROM A STOPPED POSITION IT WOULD STALL BEFORE TAKING OFF. THEN IT STARTED SHUTTERING AFTER TAKE OFF. THEN ESCALATED TO SHUTTERING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 20-30 USUALLY WHEN I WAS IN THE SCHOOL ZONE TAKING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS NISSAN FINALLY DECIDED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE A BABY AS WELL AS TWO OTHER CHILDREN THAT ARE IN THIS VEHICLE EVERYDAY. ONCE THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED IT STARTED HAVING A PROBLEM AT ANY SPEED WHERE IT FELT LIKE THE MOTOR WAS GOING TO JUMP OUT OF THE VEHICLE WHICH JERKED MY CHILDREN AND SCARED THEM. I M ALSO NOTICING MORE AND MORE PROBLEMS WITH IT NOT WANTING TO GO INTO GEAR. I HAVE ALSO HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE BACK HATCH COMING OPEN AT VARIOUS TIMES FOR NO REASON. ONE DAY I WALKED OUT OF WORK TO FIND THAT IT WAS OPEN THE DOORS TO THE VEHICLE WERE STILL LOCKED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION I FOUND THE BACK HATCH OPEN AND IT HAD RAINED ALL NIGHT AND THE NEIGHBOR STRAYS HAD SLEPT IN MY VEHICLE ALL NIGHT AGAIN THE DOORS WERE LOCKED. NO ONE HAD TOUCHED MY KEYS SO NO REASON FOR HOW IT KEEPS MYSTERIOUSLY COMING OPEN. THE PREVIOUS PATHFINDER I HAD WOULD LET DOWN THE FRONT WINDOWS AT VARIOUS TIMES FOR NO REASON. SAID IT WAS A SAFETY FEATURE...DIDN'T SEEM VERY SAFE TO ME TO COME OUT OF A STORE TO FIND MY WINDOWS DOWN. UNFORTUNATELY CANT TRADE IT IN BECAUSE I WOULD BE TOO UPSIDE DOWN. I KNOW IT WILL COST A LOT TO RECALL AND FIX ALL OF THESE BUT HOW DOES THAT COMPARE TO THE COST OF PEOPLES LIVES. NUMEROUS TIMES I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ( DICK SCOTT NISSAN OF CANTON ) COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS LID ON EVEN WITH AN ADULT PASSENGER WAS SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT. ALL THOSE TIMES I GOT AN EXPLANATION THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM. THEY WON'T EVEN WRITE IT UP AS A COMPLAINT. THEY UPDATED THE COMPUTER SOFTWARE BUT TO DATE I STILL NOTICED EVERY NOW AND THEN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON. I'M JUST WORRIED THAT IF THE VEHICLE WILL GET IN AN ACCIDENT AND SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE FRONT, THAT SOMEONE IS NOT PROTECTED FROM THE IMPACT.
MY 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER WAS INVOLVED IN A SIDE IMPACT ACCIDENT ON MAY 11TH, 2014. THREE OCCUPANTS OF MY MV WERE INJURED, INCLUDING MYSELF. THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS. WITH THIS RECALL THE SIDE PASSENGER AIRBAGS WOULD FAIL TO DEPLOY IN A SIDE IMPACT ACCIDENT. AFTER MAY 11, 2014, I TOOK MY 2013 PATHFINDER TO LIA NISSAN IN ENFIELD, CT, TO HAVE MY AIRBAGS INSPECTED TO SEE IF THEY OPERATED PROPERLY IN THE ACCIDENT. WITHOUT INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE FEMALE SERVICE TECH./MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD SURELY HAVE OPERATED PROPERLY IN THE ACCIDENT AS DESIGNED. THE SERVICE EMPLOYEE STATED I NEEDED TO HAVE MY VEHICLE REPAIRED SO THEY COULD PERFORM THE RECALL ON THE PASSENGER AIRBAGS/AIR BAG SENSOR. THEY WOULD NOT INSPECT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. DAMAGE TO THE 2013 PATHFINDER INCLUDED FRAME DAMAGE, BOTH PASSENGER DOORS WERE INOPERABLE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT FRAME WAS REPLACED AS IT WAS BENT IN THE ACCIDENT. MV WAS REPAINTED. AFTER THE REPAIRS, I WAS STILL HAVING ISSUES WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT STAYING ON INDICATING THE AIRBAGS WERE OFF. AT VARIOUS NORMAL SERVICE (OIL CHANGES ETC...) I INFORMED NISSAN TECHS ABOUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT. I WAS GIVEN THIS ADVICE FROM THE SERVICE TECH. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN TURN THE MV ON AND OFF TO RESET THE SENSOR. MARCH 2015 AFTER READING THE ARTICLE REGARDING THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION INTO THESE SAME ISSUES. I AGAIN TOOK MY MV TO LIA NISSAN IN ENFIELD, CT. TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT BEING STILL ON. THEY TOLD ME THE ISSUE WAS FIXED WITH THE RECALL AND EVEN IF THE PASSENGER (AIRBAG OFF) LIGHT IS ON, THE AIR BAGS WOULD STILL WORK PROPERLY. THE TECHNICIAN SAID THE PROPER "OFF" INDICATOR WAS THE AIRBAG LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. I WAS THEN ADVISED AGAIN TO TURN MY MV OFF THEN ON TO RESET THE SENSOR. I DO NOT CONSIDER THIS ISSUE TO BE RESOLVED.
BRAKE FAILURE - ANTI-LOCK BRAKES FAILED - PREVENTING CAR FROM STOPPING. I WAS PULLING INTO A DIRT PARKING LOT - STEPPING ON THE BRAKES - ANTI-LOCK BRAKES KICKED IN, BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD AND WOULDN'T PRESS DOWN ANYMORE - TRUCK WOULDN'T NOT SLOW DOWN. I WAS HEADING TOWARDS TREES - I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY FOOT COMPLETELY OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD - TRUCK STOPPED JUST SHORT OF THE TREES.. I HAVE RAN INTO SIMILAR SITUATION IN SNOW - DEFINITELY STILL A MAJOR BRAKE PROBLEM. ALSO ROTORS WERE WARPED AT 17K MILES. WE ALSO HAD A MAJOR PROBLEM AFTER LEAVING THE TRUCK AT THE AIRPORT FOR A WEEK - IT FELT LIKE THE CALIPERS WERE EXTREMELY WARPED AND METAL ON METAL GRINDING - - THIS SCARED MY WIFE AND KIDS REALLY BADLY.. IT TOOK AT LEAST 3 MILES FOR THE BRAKES TO FEEL A LITTLE BETTER.. I SHUT OFF MY TRUCK - GOT OUT - CLOSED THE DOORS AND THE DOORS WOULDN'T LOCK. I COULD SEE A ERROR ON THE DASH BOARD SHOWING THE CAR REMOTE. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO LOCK THE DOOR AND KEPT GETTING THE SAME ERROR. I GOT BACK INTO THE TRUCK AND RESTARTED IT - THEN SHUT IT OFF - GOT OUT AND THE DOORS WOULD LOCK. THE DEALER ALREADY DID THE SERVICE BULLETIN UPDATE FOR THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES IN MARCH - AND IT EVIDENTLY DIDN'T WORK. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THE REMOTE - GETTING IN TO THE TRUCK AND STARTING THE TRUCK. I HAVE HAD TIMES I REMOTE STARTED THE TRUCK, THEN COULDN'T GET IN.. I HAD TO HIT THE LOCK AND UNLOCK KEY SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE I COULD GET INTO THE TRUCK.. THEN THE TRUCK WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO HIT THE POWER BUTTON - STATING WRONG KEY ID.. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON INSPECTION, IT WAS FOUND THAT WIRES ALONG WITH PROTECTIVE RUBBER AND FOAM HAD BEEN CHEWED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
SINCE PURCHASING THE 2013 PATHFINDER, PROBLEMS ARE RELENTLESS. LIFTGATE STICKING AND RUBBING. BROKEN DOOR HANDLES, DRIVER AND PASSENGER. BOLT FALLING OUT OF ALTERNATOR WHILE DRIVING. AIRBAGS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. NOW FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS A SHUDDER/VIBRATION WHICH HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. USUALLY AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN TURNING OR ACCELERATING. BROUGHT TO DEALER IN 2/14 AND NEEDED REPROGRAMMING. STARTED HAPPENING AGAIN, BROUGHT TO DEALER WAS TOLD THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. HAPPENING AGAIN NOW ON 5/6 AND THERE IS NO ANSWER. AFRAID CAR WILL STALL OUT IN INTERSECTION CAUSING A MAJOR ACCIDENT. SAME ISSUE HAPPENING TO TONS OF PEOPLE, YET NO RESPONSE FROM NISSAN. *TR
