TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V138000 (AIR BAGS , ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY AFTER THE RECALL REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8000.
NISSAN BEEN SELLING THIS SUV KNOWING THAT THE TRAMISSION IS DEFECTIVE. THE ENGINE BIG BANG SOMETIME IT JERK BACK AND FORT. FINALLY IT BLOW OUT AT 29700 MILE. IT WAS REPLACE BY WARRANTY, BUT WITH RECONDITION ONE. THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION . IT NOT SAFE ON THE ROAD. HOW LONG WILL THE RECONDION TRANSMISSION LAST?THIS IS $ 41000 DOLLAR TRUCK I PAID $ 37500 OUT THE DOOR . BEWARE OF BUYING CVT TRANSMISSION EVERYONE.
PURCHASED NEW 2013 PATHFINDER AND WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK NOTICED A SHUDDER IN THE TRANSMISSION, HOWEVER IT WAS AN ISOLATED AND DIDN'T THINK IT WAS AN ISSUE. AS TIME HAS PASSED THIS HAS GOTTEN MORE AND MORE FREQUENT. THEN RECENTLY WITH ONLY 2000 MILES ON THE CAR, WE WERE MAKING A LEFT TURN THE CAR SHUDDERED AND FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STALL, AND CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST A FEW MPH. THIS BEING HIGHLY CONCERNING FROM A SAFETY STANDPOINT PROMPTED US TO TAKE THE CAR INTO THE DEALER. DEALER LOOKED OVER CAR SAID THEY WERE TO REPROGRAM THE TCM AS THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE. AFTER REPROGRAMMING DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE ISSUE AND TOLD US THAT WAS ALL THAT COULD BE DONE UNTIL THEY COULD PERSONALLY DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. NISSAN DEALERSHIP SAID THEY HAVE OWNERS ON THEIR 2ND AND 3RD TRANSMISSION AND NO PERMANENT FIX. THE CAR HAS SINCE SHUDDERED AND LOST ACCELERATION THREE TIMES IN THE 24 HOUR PERIOD SINCE DEALER RETURNED CAR. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH IT APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE FOR OVER A YEAR AND FOR NISSAN TO CONTINUE TO SELL A KNOWINGLY DEFECTIVE AND UNSAFE CAR SHOULD ILLEGAL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATH FINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO UPDATED THE SOFTWARE BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.
I PURCHASED MY PATHFINDER IN JULY 2013 AND HAVE HAD 2 ISSUES. THE FIRST IS A SPUTTERING WITH THE GAS PEDAL WHICH OCCURS QUITE FREQUENTLY UNDER LOW SPEEDS. TOOK IT IN FOR EVALUATION AND NISSAN SAID THAT'S HOW CVT TRANSMISSIONS WORK AND THAT IT WAS NORMAL. VERY STRANGE. THE SECOND ISSUE I AM CURRENTLY HAVING IS THE MOST CONCERNING. WHILE TRAVELING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, WHEN I PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL THERE IS NO POWER AT ALL AND NO ACCELERATION. AT TIMES THE PEDAL CAN BE ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THEN 2 TO 3 SECONDS LATER THE ACCELERATION COMES BACK. IT HAS HAPPEN TO ME IN A PASSING SITUATION ON THE FREEWAY AND WHILE MAKING A TURN AT AN INTERSECTION AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY IN SERVICE TO BE EVALUATED AND THEY HAVE SAID UNLESS THEY CAN REPLICATE THE ISSUE ON THEIR END THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION, I HAVE 3 KIDS THAT RIDE IN THE VEHICLE ON A DAILY BASIS AND THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FROM A CONSUMER STANDPOINT. I HAVE DOCUMENTED WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS AS A RESULT OF THIS, BUT I MUST SAY AS THIS CAR WAS A HUGE INVESTMENT FOR MY WIFE AND OUR FAMILY WE ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNED AND DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE WE LOVE THE CAR SO MUCH AND WOULDN'T EXPECT THIS FROM A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED FOR TWENTY MINUTES AS AN OCCUPANT WAS SEATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SIX TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS, WHO WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,884. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC STOP AT 15 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE WHEN DEPRESSED AND THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A SNOW PLOW. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FROM THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR DIAGNOSED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,800.
INTERMITTENT TRANSMISSION SHUDDER RANGING FROM MILD TO VIOLENT WITH ACCOMPANYING DECREASE OF POWER. SHUDDER PRIMARILY OCCURS AT LOW SPEED IN THE 20-40 MPH RANGE BUT HAS ALSO OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN TRANSMISSION IS NOT SHIFTING. SHUDDER SEEMS TO BE CAUSED BY A VARIETY OF VARIABLES INCLUDING SPEED AND DEGREE OF INCLINATION OF THE ROAD. LOSS OF POWER HAS OCCURRED IN POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PASSING SITUATIONS. *TR
WHILE TURNING LEFT, THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SHUTTER AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER FOR 2-3 SECONDS. PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF INDICATOR INTERMITTENTLY COMES ON WITH PASSENGER IN SEAT. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER THE DAY BEFORE THANKSGIVING (2013). ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, I NOTICED A SHUDDER (JUTTER) WHEN ACCELERATING FROM LOW SPEEDS. THE CAR LOSES POWER DURING ACCELERATION AND A STRONG VIBRATION/SHAKING (SHUDDER) IS FELT. I RETURNED THE CAR TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE RESET. LESS THAN ONE WEEK AFTER THIS PROCEDURE (DEC. 2013) WAS DONE THE SHUDDER RETURNED. IN JAN. 2014 THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER. BY FEB. THE SHUDDER HAD RETURNED YET AGAIN. AS OF APRIL 19, 2014 THE CAR CONTINUES TO SHUDDER UPON ACCELERATION AND HAS YET TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE SERVICE COMPUTER ONLY SHOWS "MINOR" ERROR CODES AND TECHNICIANS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE SEVERE SHUDDER. THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS IT LOSES POWER UPON ACCELERATION. THIS IS MY 3RD PURCHASE FROM NISSAN. I HAVE A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY INVESTED IN THIS VEHICLE AND NISSAN REFUSES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN, HAVE AN OPEN CASE, BUT HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO SPEAK WITH THE REPRESENTATIVE BECAUSE HER WORKDAY IS OVER PROMPTLY AT 5 PM AND MINE IS NOT. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT HER TWO DOZEN TIMES, BUT MY CALLS GO STRAIGHT TO VOICE MAIL. IT IS CLEAR THAT NISSAN HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION USED IN THE 2013 PATHFINDERS AND THAT THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO GET NISSAN TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE? DO PEOPLE HAVE TO BE HURT OR KILLED BECAUSE OF THESE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS, OR IS GOING TO TAKE A CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION (LIKE GM?) TO GET NISSAN TO WORK WITH ITS' OWNERS AND CORRECT THIS PROBLEM? WHY ARE THESE VEHICLES STILL BEING SOLD? NISSAN CONTINUES TO SELL THESE VEHICLES WITH DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSIONS TO UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMERS WHO WILL BE BURDENED WITH UNSAFE VEHICLES WHICH HAVE DIMINISHED VALUES WITH VIRTUALLY NO RECOURSE AGAINST THIS AUTOMOTIVE GIANT. *TR
OFTEN TIMES WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, OR AFTER A TURN, I WILL STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL AND FEEL THE CAR SHUDDER, OR HESITATE. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD EXHBIT AN ABNORMAL WHISTLING WHEN INITIALLY STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN MY WIFE (130 LBS) IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THERE WAS APPARENTLY A RECALL. THIS DID NOT REMEDY THE SITUATION, AS IT OCCURRED AGAIN SEVERAL TIMES. IT WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID A REPROGRAM, YET AGAIN. THE PROBLEM IS THE OCCUPANT SENSOR, I WAS TOLD. AGAIN, IT HAS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN. I CALLED AGAIN AND THEY WERE REALLY GREAT AND GOT ME IN THE NEXT DAY. THEY SAID THAT SOME OF THE VEHICLES JUST DIDN'T TAKE TO THE REPROGRAM FOR SOME REASON. IT WAS FINE FOR A WHILE, BUT THEN JUST THIS PAST WEEK IT HAS STARTED COMING ON AGAIN. THIS SIGNIFICANTLY JEOPARDIZES THE SAFETY OF THE PERSON IN THE PASSENGER SEAT IF THERE IS EVER TO BE AN ACCIDENT. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW AND CURRENTLY HAS AROUND 6500 MILES ON IT. THE OTHER CONCERN WILL BE DOWN THE ROAD WHEN I WOULD SELL IT. THE PROBLEMS REPRESENT AN INHERENT BREACH OF IMPLIED WARRANTY AND THEREFORE HAVE DAMAGED THE REPUTATION AND VALUE OF MY VEHICLE. *TR
WE PURCHASED A NEW 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER ON APPROX 6/2013 AND NOW HAVE 10,000 MILES ON IT. THE LAST FEW WEEKS WE HAVE BEEN NOTICING AT SLOW SPEEDS APPROX 25 MPH WE ARE EXPERIENCING A SHUDDER IN THE TRANSMISSION. IT IS HAPPENING FAIRLY CONSISTENT NOW AT 25MPH AND UNDER A LOAD LIKE A SLIGHT INCLINE. IT REQUIRES A RELEASE OF THE THROTTLE AND REAPPLY TO GET THE SHUDDER TO STOP AND START PULLING AGAIN. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IF YOU ARE CROSSING ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND HAVE TO RELEASE THE THROTTLE, NOT A GOOD THING! I AM NOW READING OF MANY OTHER OWNERS WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME TYPE ISSUE AND THERE ARE NOW 4 SERVICE BULLETINS RELATING TO TRANSMISSION ISSUES ON THIS VEHICLE AND THEY ARE NOT FIXING THE PROBLEMS. NISSAN PATHFINDER 2013 PLATINUM PREMIUM WAS PURCHASED BY ME IN THE MIDDLE OF JULY 2013 FROM NISSAN DEALER AT RT. 440, JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 2000 MILES IN A PERIOD OF 3 MONTH, THE VEHICLE STARTED SHUDDERING AND SLOWING DOWN (DECELERATING) OF ITS OWN. THIS PROBLEM BECAME FREQUENT. THE DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND REQUESTED FOR ADDRESSING THE ISSUE BUT TO NO AVAIL. WE HAVE MADE AT LEAST THREE VISITS TO THE DEALER REQUESTING TO FIND THE FAULT AND RESOLVE BUT TO MY AMAZEMENT, THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND PUT THE MACHINE RIGHT. I AM REALLY AFRAID TO USE THIS VEHICLE FOR FEAR OF BREAKDOWN OR ACCIDENT WHILE IN OPERATION. IT IS ALMOST A YEAR, I POSSESS THE VEHICLE AND THE MILEAGE I PUT IS LESS THAN 4000 TILL DATE. WHEN THE IGNITION WAS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED BY AN ADULT, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG OFF WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ALSO, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED TO THE PARK POSITION, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BRAKES IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V380000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING) AND 16V244000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIRS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
VEHICLE JUDDERING WHILE TRAVELING AT LOW SPEED, IT FEELS LIKE IT GOING TO STALL. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THEY SAY THEY CAN'T RECREATE. THEY CALLED IN TO MOSSY NISSAN IN NATIONAL CITY, CA TO TEST DRIVE THE CAR WITH THE FOREMAN OF THE SHOP, AND THE PROBLEM RECURRED, HE FELT IT, BUT WE DIDN'T HAVE THE COMPUTER HOOK UP TO THE CAR DIAGNOSTICS. I TOOK THE CAR BACK IN FOR THE SAME THING, I LEFT THE CAR THERE FOR 2 DAYS AND HEY SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE IT. ALSO IT HAS A COOLANT LEAK THAT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AFTER 3 TIMES. THEY SMELL IT BUT CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. *TR
SHORTLY AFTER TAKING OWNERSHIP, WE FELT A SHAKING OF THE VEHICLE WHEN MAKING TURNS OR WHEN SLIGHTLY ACCELERATING/STOPPING (LIKE WHEN STUCK IN TRAFFIC) AT LOW SPEEDS. GENERALLY HAPPENS AT 18 MPH BUT ANYWHERE FROM 15-25 MPH. THE VEHICLE WILL SHAKE FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS. DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED ISSUE, PERFORMED SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH DIDN'T RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WE REQUESTED THE RECORDING DEVICE TO BE INSTALLED TO CAPTURE THE JUDDER FOR NISSAN CORPORATE SATISFACTION, UNFORTUNATELY THE RECORDING DEVICE WAS FAULTY AND WAS UNABLE TO RECORD ANYTHING. WE ARE WAITING FOR THE DEALER TO FIX THE DEVICE, HOWEVER THE JUDDERING IS STILL OCCURRING AND I OFTEN FEEL UNSAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. NISSAN KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING BUT IS NOT MAKING IT EASY FOR THE DEALER TO FIX AS THEY WANT THE JUDDER RECORDED. THE DEALER TECH'S KNOW IT'S HAPPENING ON OUR VEHICLE, YET WE CAN'T GET ANY RESOLUTION. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT KEEPS GOING ON WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SIT AND NOT SITTING IN THE SEAT ( PERSON IS AT THE WEIGHT LIMIT AND SITTING CORRECTLY).HAD THE CAR TO THE DEALER SHIP THREE TIMES INCLUDING ONCE FOR THE RECALL OF THIS ISSUE. THEY CAN NOT SEEM TO FIX THE ISSUE AND HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO FIX WITH MULTIPLE CALLS TO THE NISSAN TECH HOTLINE, THEY REPLACED THE SENSORS AT LEAST EVERY TIME. THIS IS STARTING TO BE A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AND WHO KNOWS IF THE AIR BAG WILL EVEN WORK WHEN NEEDED. THEY COULD NEVER DUPLICATE THE ISSUE WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER, BUT I GO ARMED WITH PICTURES ANYMORE. I HAVE OWNED MANY NISSANS AND THIS IS THE FIRST ONE THAT HAS GIVEN ME AN ISSUE. I EVEN TURNED TO NISSAN DIRECTLY AND OPENED COMPLAINTS WITH THIS ISSUE, IT SEEMS LIKE THEY JUST GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR ANYTHING BUT JUST A CAR THAT WORKS, I BOUGHT A NEW CAR AND WANT A NEW CAR. IF I WANTED A CAR WITH THESE TYPE OF ISSUES I WOULD OF BOUGHT A USED ONE. NISSAN NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING WITH THIS PROBLEM IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GET HURTS OR DIES. THEN WHO'S GOING TO PAY FOR IT? I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THESE ISSUES! *TR
WHEN GETTING TO A STOP OR A YIELD, AS SOON AS I WOULD ACCELERATE, MY VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE. A NOTICEABLE AND VIOLENT SHAKE WHERE MY YOUNG DAUGHTER WOULD GET SCARED IN THE BACK SEAT. I WOULD THEN LET MY FOOT OFF AND THE SHAKING WOULD STOP AND THE VEHICLE WOULD STILL MOVE SLOW. I WOULD THEN ACCELERATE AGAIN. MOST OF THE TIME THE VEHICLE WOULD MOVE NORMAL BUT A FEW TIMES THE VEHICLE WOULD AGAIN SHAKE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER AND I WAS TOLD THAT A BULLETIN WAS ADDRESS TO ALL DEALERSHIP AND THAT MY VEHICLE WAS RE-PROGRAM AND THAT NO SHAKING SHOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. BUT IT DID. IT HAPPENED ABOUT A WEEK AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. *TR
WHILE MAKING TURNS FROM SIDE STREETS INTO MAIN ROADS TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND MERGE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC THE CAR WILL BRIEFLY ACCELERATE THEN POWER WILL DROP OUT, RPM'S WILL JUMP TO 4000-5000 WITH NO ACCELERATION LEAVING ME IN THE MAIN ROAD WITH NO POWER TO ACCELERATE AND STUCK AT BETWEEN 25-35 MPH. ONLY WAY TO CORRECT PROBLEM IS TO HIT THE BRAKES AND RE ACCELERATE. THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS AND HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. *TR
PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN MARCH 2013. SINCE PURCHASE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS TIMES TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THAT MANIFESTS ITSELF AS VEHICLE SHUDDERING WHEN TRYING TO MAKE TURN AT LOW SPEED OR FROM COMPLETE STOP. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO GO ONTO HIGHWAY, VEHICLE WOULD SHUDDER AND CAN NOT ACCELERATE UNTIL FOOT IS TAKEN FROM THE GAS PEDAL AND GAS PEDAL PRESSED AGAIN. I BROUGHT THIS TO NISSAN USA ATTENTION AND SPOKE TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES. VEHICLE WAS EVALUATED AT THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER AND WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT THE PROBLEM CAN NOT BE DUPLICATED. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO THE TECHNICIAN THAT IN ORDER TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM THIS VEHICLE HAVE TO BE DRIVEN FOR SEVERAL DAYS IF NOT WEEKS ON DAILY BASIS SINCE SOMETIMES PROBLEM HAPPENS EVERY THREE DAYS, SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS THREE, FOUR TIMES A DAY. I HAVE A FEELING NISSAN IS TRYING TO HIDE SERIOUS FLAWS IN THE DESIGN OF THEIR NEW PATHFINDER AND IT IS SIMPLY REFUSING TO TAKE CARE OF PROBLEMS. DRIVING ALONG AT A RELATIVELY SLOW PACE AROUND 45 MPH THE TRANSMISSION SHOOK AND SHUDDERS. IT FEELS LIKE GOING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS. THE VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS MULTIPLE TIMES THIS WEEKEND AT 25 MPH AND AT 45 MPH. THE VEHICLE IS 2.5 MONTHS SINCE PURCHASED NEW. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR THIS ISSUE 500 MILES AGO. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED WITH A FACTORY REMANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION AND IS STARTING TO DO THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM IT HAD PRIOR TO THE REPLACEMENT. NISSAN HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 23 DAYS TO REPLACE THE TRANS AND ADDITIONALLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 3 DAYS TO REPAIR THE A PASSENGER AIR BAG SEAT SENSORS WHEN IT FAILED DURING THE DELIVERY. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS WITH THE PATHFINDER TRANSMISSIONS THAT THE BUYERS ARE HAVING AND CONTINUE TO SELL THESE VEHICLES TO THE CONSUMERS. THIS WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE PURCHASE AND THE EXPECTATIONS WERE HIGH. THOSE EXPECTATIONS HAVE BEEN LOST NISSAN HAS REFUSED TO REFUND THE PURCHASE PRICE TO ME OR REPLACE THE VEHICLE. THIS IS MY SECOND REPORT TO NHTSA. MY FIRST ODI WAS 10547158. I HAVE SOUGHT LEGAL COUNSEL. IN MY OPINION NISSAN IS NEGLIGENT IN SELLING THESE VEHICLE WHEN THEY ARE AWARE OF THEM HAVING THESE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSIONS AND THEY HAVE NO FIX THAT ADEQUATELY SOLVES THE ISSUE. I BOUGHT A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER 5/13/13. IN NOVEMBER, I FELT SOME VIBRATIONS WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATE AFTER SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A TURN. THIS IS NOW WHAT THEY REFER TO AS THE "SHUDDER" IT HAS CONTINUE TO GET WORSE. AT MY SERVICE APPT I BROUGHT IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE SERVICE TECH AFTER MY OIL CHANGE, HE SAID IT MAY BE BECAUSE MY CAR WAS IN "AUTO INSTEAD OF 2WD" ALSO THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE ABS SO THEY WOULD DO REPROGRAM AND THAT WOULD MORE THAN LIKELY FIX THE ISSUE. HE SAID IT SHOULDN'T BE A BIG DEAL AND IF IT CONTINUES ACTING UP TO LET HIM KNOW AT MY NEXT OIL CHANGE. THE NEXT TIME I WAS DUE FOR A SERVICE I WAS FORCED TO GO TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP SO I ASKED THE SERVICE TECH IF HE WAS FAMILIAR OR HAD ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS... HE ACTED CLUELESS. I COULD NOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE. WENT BACK TO STATESVILLE DEALERSHIP 3/3/14, THEY DID THE REPROGRAMMING THAT THEY SAID WOULD HOPEFULLY FIX IT, IF NOT THEY WOULD GO TO NEXT STEP WHICH IS TO REPLACE THE TORQUE CONVERTER OR CVT. THE NEXT DAY, 3/4/13, MY CAR ACTED UP WORSE THAN IT EVER HAS. I CALLED RIGHT THEN AND HE SAID BRING IT IN SO WE CAN ORDER PARTS. AFTER WAITING 1.5 HOURS, THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE I WOULD HAVE TO BRING TO DROP OFF. SCHEDULED APPT TO LEAVE FOR 3 DAYS, TOOK IT IN AFTER IT BEING THERE ONE DAY THEY CALLED AND SAID I NEEDED TO DRIVE IT WITH TECH TO DUPLICATE. I DROVE AROUND FOR AN HOUR IT WOULD NOT ACT UP. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR END OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THE CONTACT PLANNED TO HAVE THE REMEDY REPAIR PERFORMED AFTER THE BODY DAMAGE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. WHEN EXITING THE ROUNDABOUT AT NEARLY 20 MPH THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED AGAIN FOR A COUPLE SECONDS, BUT THIS TIME IT WAS NOT A VIOLENT -- IT ONLY VIBRATED THE VEHICLE. BROUGHT PATHFINDER INTO GET SERVICED OCTOBER 30, 2013 AT 5,604 MILES AS THE CAR WAS SHUDDERING WHEN ACCELERATING. DEALERSHIP HAD CAR AND REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION. ON NOVEMBER 8, 2013, WE BROUGHT THE PATHFINDER BACK IN FOR SERVICE AS THE SHUDDERING CONTINUED. AT 5.945 MILES THEY FOUND THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED AND THE DEALERSHIP THEN REPLACED IT. ON MARCH 25, 2014, WE AGAIN HAD TO BRING THE PATHFINDER IN FOR SERVICE AS THE PATHFINDER WOULD SHUDDER WHEN ACCELERATING. AT 10,075 MILES THE TRANSMISSION WAS THEN REPLACED AGAIN DUE TO IT FAILING. WE THEN LODGED A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN NA AND REQUESTING A REPLACEMENT AUTOMOBILE BECAUSE WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE PATHFINDER WITH AN 8 WEEK OLD DAUGHTER INSIDE. THE CLAIM WAS THEN FORMALLY DECLINED BY NISSAN WITH NO EXPLANATION EXCEPT THAT THEY ARE EXTENDING OUR WARRANTY. I JUST FILED A COMPLAINT LAST WEEK REGARDING MY AIR BAG ON MY 2 MONTH OLD PATHFINDER AND THIS WEEK I HAD TROUBLE WITH MY TRANSMISSION. APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH AGO WHEN I WAS ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY MY CAR SEEMED TO GET STUCK IN SECOND GEAR AND WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 30 MPH. THE RPMS WERE GOING UP TO 7000 WITHOUT ANY ADDITIONAL POWER. THIS ONLY LASTED FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS. THE DEALER CHECKED OUT THE CAR AND SAID THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT AND THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN A COMMUNICATION PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT HAPPENED AGAIN THIS WEEK, AGAIN TRYING TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY. THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE HIGHWAY WAS 55 AND MY PATHFINDER WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 30-35 MILES PER HOUR FOR 1/4 TO 1/2 MILE. IT IS QUITE DISCONCERTING WHEN A TRACTOR TRAILER RIDES UP ON YOUR BUMPER GOING AT LEAST 55 MILES AN HOUR AND YOU HAVE NO POWER TO ACCELERATE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. ONCE AGAIN, NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH SO I AM SURE THAT WHEN I TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER NEXT WEEK THEY ARE GOING TO ONCE AGAIN TELL ME THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN WHEN THE TRANSMISSION CAN JUST STOP RESPONDING LIKE THAT. A SPECIALIST FROM NISSAN CAME TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE AND HAD NO CLUE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT AND RECOMMENDED WE REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN. I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 8 MONTHS AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP A MAJORITY OF THAT TIME. OUR PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG ALSO TURNS OFF AND NISSAN HAS NO WAY TO FIX THAT EITHER. NISSAN HAS GIVEN US A FEW OPTIONS, ALL OF WHICH ENTAIL US EITHER EATING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OR DRIVING A BROKEN VEHICLE. WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A VEHICLE. AFTER ALMOST GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT WITH MY WIFE AND 2 CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE, I WENT TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPT ON JAN 29 2013 AND EXPLAINED THAT "AT TIMES ABOUT ONCE TO TWICE A MONTH, WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT STOP PROPERLY AND ONLY SLOWED DOWN. THE SERVICE DEPT. KEPT THE VEHICLE, ONLY TO RETURN IT AND SAID THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE CONDITION PERSISTED ONLY ONCE TO TWICE A MONTH. I STATED ON A OIL SERVICE THAT THIS ISSUE STILL PERSISTED. ON OCTOBER 21, 2013 I WAS TRAVELING TO WORK ON A MAJOR BRIDGE WHEN ALL TRAFFIC CAME TO A HALT. MY VEHICLE JUST WENT OVER ONE OF THE BRIDGE'S METAL EXPANSION JOINTS WHICH IS A LITTLE BUMP WHEN I NEEDED TO BRAKE. MY APPROX SPEED WAS 30 MPH AT THE TIME I NEEDED TO STOP. AGAIN, WITH THE SLIGHT BUMP IN THE ROAD AND APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP AND I REAR-ENDED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. AS I SWERVED RIGHT INTO THE MIDDLE LANE TO AVOID A TOTAL DOMINO EFFECT OF REAR-ENDING VEHICLES, I WAS THE T-BONED BY ANOTHER ONCOMING VEHICLE. ALL OF MY SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND DAMAGE WAS TO MY DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT AND ENTIRE PASSENGER SIDE. AN ESTIMATE OF $19,000.00 WAS FIGURED BY THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER. 2 DAYS AFTER THE ACCIDENT ON OCTOBER 23, 2013, NISSAN ISSUED A TOTAL RECALL OF THE 2013 PATHFINDER. THE RECALL STEMS FROM A FLAW IN THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM SOFTWARE. THE BULLETIN SAYS THAT "IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, DURING LIGHT BRAKING ON ROUGH ROADS, THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) BRAKE PRESSURE OUTPUT SOFTWARE MAY LEAD TO AN INCREASE IN STOPPING DISTANCE". AND OF COURSE, THE LONGER IT TAKES TO STOP A VEHICLE, THE GREATER THE LIKELIHOOD OF A CRASH. MY HUSBAND AND I PURCHASED THE 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER, NOVEMBER 2012. WE TRADED IN OUR CHEVROLET TAHOE AND DECIDED WITH GAS PRICES INCREASING WE NEEDED A VEHICLE THAT WE CAN SAVE A LITTLE ON. TRANSMISSION SHUTTERING PROBLEM: TRAVELING ON LOS OSOS VALLEY ROAD, SLO CA. ACCELERATED OUT OF A TURN TO ABOUT 25 MILES PER HOUR; WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUTTERED 5 TO 6 TIMES. MINIMAL LOSS OF POWER, AND THEN RESUMED TO NORMAL. FEELS LIKE VEHICLE IS GOING OVER SPEED BUMS, BUT THERE ARE NONE. THIS 2013 PATHFINDER IS NEW, WITH 2200 MILES ON IT. THIS IS NOW THE FOURTH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. THE SHUTTERING SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN COMING OUT OF TURNS, WHILE ACCELERATING UP TO 30-35 MILES PER HOUR. NISSAN NEEDS TO COME CLEAN ON THIS ISSUE. SO FAR, THEY ARE PLAYING "TAKE INTO A AUTHORIZE SERVICE DEALER". TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER OR MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
TRANSMISSION SHUDDERED, SQUEAKY NOISE IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM WITH MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL. *TR
MY PATHFINDER HAS A BUILD DATE OF NOV. 2012. TWO TIMES NOW THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR HAS FAILED TO RECOGNIZE THAT AN ADULT IS OCCUPYING THE SEAT. IT CAN BE RESET BY STOPPING THE CAR, TURNING IT OFF GETTING OUT OF THE CAR, AND REENTERING AND START BACK UP. IT THEN WORKS AS NORMAL. THE DEALER TELLS ME IT IS NOT ONE OF THE ONES THAT HAS THIS PROBLEM AND HE WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO REPAIR WHEN HE CAN WITNESS IT. I SHOWED HIM A PICTURE WITH THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ON AND THE SEAT OCCUPIED AT 70 MPH. I NOTICED IT AFTER EXITING A REST STOP ON I-10 AND DROVE TO THE NEXT REST STOP BEFORE STOPPING TO RESET. TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS / JUDDERS AT LIGHT ACCELERATION DURING LOW SPEED. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP ON 1/05/2014 WITH 10,211 MILES ON IT. THEIR TECHNICIAN CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM OF 2013 PATHFINDER, THEY GAVE THE TRANSMISSION A UPDATE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED SO UPON GOING BACK TO THE DEALER THEY THEN INSTALLED A NEW TRANSMISSION. IT HAS NOT EVEN BEEN 3 WEEKS AND WE ARE ALREADY LOSING POWER AND STARTING TO SHUDDER AGAIN. *TR
THE VEHICLE HAS A VIBRATION ON SLOWING DOWN. ALSO LOUD NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE. ONE MONTH LATER DRIVING ON BUSY HIGHWAY VEHICLE STARTED TO SMOKE HEAVILY COULD NOT SEE DRIVING, VEHICLE CAM TO A COMPLETE STOP. SMOKE BELLOWING FROM UNDER HOOD, CARS AVOIDING REAR ENDING MY VEHICLE. WE R PETRIFIED DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AGAIN( WITH FAMILY IN CAR). TOWED TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AT MY COST NISSAN WOULD NOT TOW VEHICLE(WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY). RECEIVED MY PATHFINDER BACK AFTER 15 DAYS IN THE SHOP FOR REPLACEMENT OF ABS MODULATOR AND SHUTTERING IN THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN SERVICE DEPT. TOLD ME THEY DID A MODIFICATION TO THE TRANSMISSION TO STOP THE SHUTTERING. SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THERE WAS STILL A SHUTTER AT AROUND 20-30 MILES AN HOUR AND THAT WAS JUST HOW THE VEHICLE RAN. LEFT FOR A 500 MILE TRIP DAY AFTER PICKING UP FOR THESE FIXES. ON THE HWY. IT LOST POWER ON HILLS AND SHUTTER WAS HARDER THEN BEFORE. RPM'S WERE HIGHER THAN NORMAL WHICH DECREASED GAS MILEAGE BY 5 MPG. CALLED SERVICE DEPT. AND THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE THE OVERDRIVE OFF. VEHICLE DID RUN SLIGHTLY BETTER ON THE HWY. BUT ONCE ON SURFACE STREETS IT WOULD HESITATE (NOT MOVE FOR 2-5 SECONDS) AND THEN LUNGE FORWARD WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. OTHER TIMES IT WOULDN'T MOVE AT ALL. WHEN IN REVERSE IT WOULD NOT MOVE THEN WOULD JERK BACKWARDS. ALSO WOULD ROLL FORWARD ON A SLIGHT DECLINE EVEN WHEN IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. FINALLY ON THE WAY BACK HOME THE VEHICLE'S RPM'S WENT TO 5000 AND GOT STUCK THERE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AT NEAREST EXIT. ON THE OFF RAMP VEHICLE STOP MOVING. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND US. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION HAS 3 MODULATORS THAT WENT OUT. VEHICLE HAS NOW BEEN OUT OF SERVICE FOR MORE THAN 30 DAYS AND THE TRANSMISSION IS BACK ORDERED. NISSAN CORPORATE HAS CONTACTED ME AND WANTS TO DO A REPURCHASE OR REPLACEMENT. REPLACEMENT WOULD ONLY MEAN THAT WE WOULD BE GETTING THE SAME DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION BUT IN A DIFFERENT PATHFINDER. REPURCHASE MEANS WE ARE OUT A LOT OF MONEY. *TR
UPON ACCELERATING, I NOTICED JERKING/SHUTTERING. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2-3 TIMES SINCE THEN. TAKING TO DEALER TOMORROW. *TR
THE PROBLEM STARTED WITHIN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS WITH SHUDDERING.AT THE TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED, I WAS UNSURE AS TO WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS ABOUT TO STALL.I IMMEDIATELY RETURNED IT TO GRAY-DANIEL NISSAN NORTH SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND EXPLAINED WHAT I HAD EXPERIENCED.THE SERVICE WRITER INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAD NOT HAD THAT PROBLEM BEFORE WHEN I WAS CALLED BACK, I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. AT THAT TIME I HAD THE TECHNICIAN RIDE WITH ME.AS SOON AS I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE TECHNICIAN IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE SHUDDER OCCURRED.HE FELT IT AND UPON RETURN TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HE TOLD THE SERVICE WRITER THAT HE FELT IT. NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT THAT DAY.I HAD TO RESCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO BRING IT BACK.I WAS TOLD THAT THEY RESET SOMETHING AND THAT THIS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM.IT DID NOT.I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE BACK AN ADDITIONAL 3 TIMES FOR A TOTAL OF 4.EACH TIME I AM TOLD THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE IT.ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29TH, I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THE TECHNICIAN COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. AGAIN, I AM TOLD THAT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN TO BRING IT IN. THE SAGA CONTINUES AND I AM STILL LEFT WITH A NEW VEHICLE THAT HAS PROBLEMS.THIS PROBLEM DID NOT JUST OCCUR IN SEPTEMBER WHEN I MADE MY PURCHASE. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN THERE FOR A WHILE. BUT AS A CONSUMER, ARE WE TOLD THAT THERE MAY BE AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE YOU ARE ABOUT TO PURCHASE? NO. WHEN TRAFFIC SLOWS DOWN BELOW 10 MPH AND IMMEDIATELY SPEEDS BACK UP ABOVE 20 MPH,OUR NISSAN PATHFINDER MAY UNEXPECTEDLY, AND VIOLENTLY SHUTTER AND EXPERIENCE A TOTAL LOSS OFF POWER. THIS HAS CAUSED POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS BY FORCING ME TO SLOW BELOW 5 MPH BEFORE CAR WILL REGAIN NORMAL OPERATION. THIS APPEARS BE AN EXTREME DESIGN FLAW IN THE TRANSMISSION THAT NISSAN HAS YET TO CORRECT.
I HAVE HAD ABOUT 5 INCIDENTS OF FAILURE WHEN I HIT THE GAS FROM A STAND STILL. WHEN I PUSH THE GAS PEDAL, I WILL ACCELERATE A LITTLE (ENOUGH TO GET IN TRAFFIC), THEN NOTHING. I LIFT MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND PUT IT BACK DOWN. STILL NOTHING. IT IS A GOOD 4 SECONDS BEFORE I GET POWER TO GO. THIS HAS LED TO A COUPLE NEAR CRASHES, AS 4 SECONDS IS A LONG TIME IF YOU ARE PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC. *TR
I HAVE LEASED A BRAND NEW NISSAN PATHFINDER. AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR A MONTH I HAD NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS ATTEMPTING TO STALL EACH TIME I MADE A RIGHT/LEFT TURN - IT WAS ALMOST LIKE GAS WAS GETTING TO THE ENGINE. ON FEBRUARY 11TH, 2014 I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR TO HAVE THE BRAKE RECALL REPAIRED ON MY CAR, AND I HAD MENTIONED TO THE SERVICE MANAGER ABOUT THE STALLING OF MY CAR EACH TIME I MADE A TURN. AFTER THEY HAD FINISHED WITH MY CAR, THEY HAD ADVISED THAT THEY INVESTIGATED MY CONCERN AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. I CURRENTLY HAVE 4700 MILES ON THE CAR, AND MY PLAN IS TO SPEAK WITH THE DEALERSHIP IN REGARDS TO POSSIBLY TURNING THE CAR IN AND GETTING A NEW TRUCK ALL TOGETHER (NOT A PATHFINDER SINCE I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM FOR THEM). I HAVE A THREE AND FIVE YEAR OLD, I FEEL EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR WITH THIS KNOWN ISSUE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. *TR
WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AND TAPPING GAS PEDAL VERY LIGHTLY MAINTAINING SPEED WITH TRAFFIC THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND LOST POWER. WHEN I STEPPED HARDER ON GAS PEDAL THE CAR HESITATED AND THEN WENT. IT FELT LIKE RUNNING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS. ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER IT DID IT AGAIN SO I CALLED DEALER CAUSE THE CAR WAS BRAND NEW. THEY SAID THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL AND TO BRING IT IN 2 DAYS LATER ON WEDS 10/3/13. I ASKED IF IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE IT OR SHOULD I HAVE IT TOWED THEY SAID TO DRIVE IT. IT DID THE SAME THING MULTIPLE TIMES THAT DAY I WAS ABLE TO RECORD ONE EVENT ON AN IPHONE. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER EARLY AS I DID NOT WANT TO CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION WHICH APPEARED TO BE SLIPPING AND BANGING. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN THERE FOR MULTIPLE DAYS ALREADY AND THEY PREDICT AT LEAST TWO WEEKS AT WHICH TIME THEY PLAN TO CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION WITH A REMANUFACTURED TRANS. I SAID I WOULD NOT ACCEPT A USED PART/ REMANUFACTURED AS THE VEHICLE IS BRAND NEW AND WAS VERY EXPENSIVE. I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW VEHICLE FOR A REASON I WANTED NEW NOT USED. WANTED NO PROBLEMS HUH THEY REFERRED ME TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THEY CALLED AND SAID THEY ARE REVIEWING THE ISSUE WITH THE DEALER AND WILL GET BACK TO ME 10/8/13 A WEEK HAS ALREADY PAST AND NO RESOLUTION. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO IN FOR SERVICE FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG AS IT WAS DISPLAYED AT DELIVERY AND THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO DEALER MINUTES AFTER DELIVERY AND WAS KEPT FOR 4 DAYS TO MAKE THAT REPAIR. ALL TOLD THE VEHICLE WAS IN SERVICE FOR ABOUT 1 MONTH AND APPEARS THAT IT WILL BE IN THE SHOP FOR 3 WEEKS. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND NOT HAPPY WITH ANSWERS FROM NISSAN THUS FAR. *TR
THE 2013 AND 14 PATHFINDER HAVE A FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSION THAT NISSAN CAN'T SEEM TO FIX. THE CVT WILL "JUDDER" BETWEEN 18 AND 35 MPH. IT FEELS LIKE RIDING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS. THIS IS A PROBLEM AS THE CAR CAN NOT ACCELERATE DURING THE JUDDER AND IT IS ALSO AN UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOR WHICH COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO PANIC. FOR INSTANCE, IF YOU TRY TO PASS OR PULL OUT IN FRONT OF SOMEONE, YOU MAY FIND THE CAR NOT MOVING. NISSAN HAS TRIED MULTIPLE FIXES FOR THIS - STARTED WITH TCM REPROGRAMMING, THEN TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACEMENT, THEN ENTIRE CVT REPLACEMENT. MANY VEHICLES, LIKE MINE, ARE ON THEIR 3RD CVT. WORSE, THEY ARE REPLACING THEM WITH REMANUFACTURED CVTS. THIS IS A SERIOUS DEFECT THAT HAS SAFETY IMPLICATIONS. I PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF AN ONCOMING VEHICLE WITH PLENTY OF DISTANCE/TIME IF MY CAR WAS WORKING PROPERLY BUT WHEN MY CVT STARTED JUDDERING AND MY VEHICLE SLOWED, I WAS ALMOST HIT. *TR
I HAVE A RECURRING ISSUE WITH MY 2013 PATHFINDER SHUDDERING AND LOSING POWER AT LOW SPEEDS (20 - 30MPH). THIS ISSUE OCCURS DAILY AND APPEARS TO BE GETTING WORSE WITH APPROXIMATELY 15,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE SHUDDERING AND LOSE OF POWER LAST FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 SECONDS AND REQUIRES ME TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR AND POWER THROUGH THE ISSUE WHICH IS A SAFETY CONCERN. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT NISSAN SENT EACH DEALER A "VIDEO" TO HELP ASSESS THE ISSUE AND THAT MOST VEHICLES WON'T QUALIFY BASED ON THE PARAMETERS SET BY THE MANUFACTURER. HE SAID THE REAL PROBLEM IS GOING TO BE "FIGURING OUT HOW TO FIX ALL THE OTHER VEHICLES THAT DON'T QUALIFY. *TR
