I PURCHASED MY 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER, LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AGO. WE CURRENTLY HAVE 7100 MILES ON IT. WE HAVE NOT EVEN HAD OUR 2ND OIL CHANGE AND I HAVE ALREADY HAD IT IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES AND I HAVE TO TAKE IT IN TODAY FOR THE SAME ISSUE, DEALING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. AT ROUGHLY 1000 MILES, WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP IN KNOXVILLE TN DUE TO A STUTTERING WHEN COMING TO A STOP, PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK AND WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. WE WAS TOLD THIS WAS DUE TO THE NEW TRANSMISSION IN THE 2013 AND THE CAR WAS TRYING TO GET IN THE BEST GEAR FOR THE MOST EFFICIENT GAS MILEAGE. CAME TIME FOR OUR 1ST OIL CHANGE AT 3500 AND WE TOLD THEM TO CHECK THE STUTTER AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE COMPUTER WOULD CORRECT ITSELF. WE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AT THE BEGINNING OF SEPT AND WAS GIVEN A RENTAL FOR 2 DAYS AND WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PART. THEY ALSO SAID THE FIXED THE AIRBAG RECALL AT THIS APPOINTMENT. AFTER 2 DAYS THE PART CAME IN AND THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED IN 4 DAYS AFTER THE REPAIR. ON 9/26/13 THE VEHICLE WAS STILL STUTTERING WHEN I CAME TO A RED LIGHT ON A HILL. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR DID NOT MOVE, BUT THE ENGINE RPM MOVED. THEN THE CAR KICKED INTO GEAR AND MOVED. I CAME TO ANOTHER HILL AND THE VEHICLE WAS BARELY ABLE TO MAKE IT UP THE HILL. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN ON TODAY, 9/27/13 TO HAVE IT CHECKED AGAIN. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY DUE TO THESE PROBLEMS IN THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
LESS THAN A BLOCK FROM MY HOME THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED THEN RESUMED NORMALLY. AS I PULLED INTO MY SLIGHTLY ELEVATED DRIVEWAY, THE CAR SHUTTERED THEN STOPPED. WHEN I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR IT REVVED BUT DID NOT MOVE. WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE, TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS DRAINING OUT AND A TRAIL OF FLUID WENT FROM MY CAR ALL THE WAY DOWN THE ROAD. THE CAR WAS IMMOBILE. THE DEALERSHIP PICKED UP THE CAR AND FOUND THAT A CLAMP TO THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE WAS MISSING AND THE HOSE CAME OFF RESULTING IN LOSS OF FLUID. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE CLAMP AND FLUIDS AND DID A COMPLETE INSPECTION OF THE CAR BEFORE RETURNING IT TO ME. BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN NO. AMERICA EXECUTIVE OFFICES WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE CAR NOW SEEMS TO BE FULLY OPERATIONAL AND HAS SHOWN NO SIGNS OF RESIDUAL ISSUES. AS A CONSUMER I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE OUTCOME, THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN. *TR
MY TRANSMISSION HAS A SHUDDER ANYWHERE BETWEEN 10-20 MPH AND ALSO HAS A LUGGING AROUND 50 MPH. MY TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED, REPROGRAMMED AND STILL HAS THE SAME ISSUES. *JS
PURCHASED A NEW 2013 PATHFINDER IN NOVEMBER OF 2012. WE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM REPORTED PER THE AIR BAG RECALL. WE HAD THE RECALL PERFORMED. SUBSEQUENT TO THE RECALL REPAIRS, WE HAVE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS HAD THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT ILLUMINATE WITH AN ADULT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. HE WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND UNWILLING TO PURSUE A REPAIR. HE CALLED NISSAN TECH SUPPORT AND PRINTED INFORMATION TO INSTRUCT US ON HOW THE SYSTEM OPERATES AND ON HOW TO SIT CORRECTLY IN THE SEAT. WE HAVE DRIVEN FOR MANY YEARS AND ARE AWARE OF HOW SEATS WORK. WE CALLED NISSAN TO ESCALATE THE ISSUE. CLEARLY, BASED ON OUR EXPERIENCE AND THE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON THE NHTSA SITE, NISSAN HAS FAILED TO ADDRESS THIS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND DECELERATING, THE BRAKES FAILED WHEN ENGAGED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO PARK IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,312.
MY PATHFINDER BEGIN TO SHUDDERING FROM 500 MILE AND CONTINUE UNTIL NOW 3000 MILES. IT HAPPEN AT 1000-1100 RPM, SOME TIME AT 2500 RPM. I HAVE TAKE THE VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP BUT LOOK LIKE THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY SOLUTION TO FIX THIS, THE TECHNICIAN SAID IT WILL REOCCUR AFTER REPLACE TRANSMISSION. *TR

2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER SHUDDERS AT LOW SPEED OR ACCELERATING FROM STOP POSITION. HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES (12) SINCE SEPT 2013. REPLACED TRANSMISSION 3 TIMES, TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE UPDATE PERFORMED TWICE. EACH TIME AFTERWARDS I WAS TOLD SOME MADE UP STORY FROM IT'S WORKING FINE NOW TO YOU MUST HAVE BEEN SPINNING YOUR TIRES ON THE WET ROADS. I TOOK VIDEOS OF THE VIOLENT SHUDDERING AND LOSS OF ACCELERATION TO THE SERVICE DEPT AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NO FIX AVAILABLE FOR THIS TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND TO DRIVE IT AS BEST YOU CAN. 55K FOR A NEW CAR TO DRIVE THE BEST I CAN!!!??? CONTACTED NISSAN CORPORATION TO FILE A COMPLAINT, AFTER 5 DAYS WAS DENIED ANY RELIEF. CONTACTED A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY AND FILED A CLAIM. WITHIN 2 DAYS OF NISSAN BEING NOTIFIED BY THE ATTORNEY, THEY WERE WILLING TO SETTLE. I RECEIVED A FULL BUY OUT AND REFUND OF ALL DEPOSITS AND MONTHLY PAYMENTS. GOD RIDDANCE!!!! BUYER BEWARE! *TR
PURCHASED IN AUG 2013. SEPT 2013 AT LOW SPEEDS UNDER 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHUDDER AND LOOSES ACCELERATION. NISSAN DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. OCT 2013 MY VEHICLE WAS BACK IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS TIME NISSAN REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. NOV 2013 BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SAME ISSUE, WAS TOLD A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS JUST RELEASED FOR A COMPUTER UPGRADE FOR THE TRANSMISSION. PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. RETURNED A 4TH TIME IN DEC 2013 AND WAS TOLD I MUST HAVE BEEN SPINNING MY WHEELS IN THE SNOW, NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. IN ADDITION TO THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, THE ROOF STARTED LEAKING AND THE WATER RAN BEHIND THE DASHBOARD. A GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, SHORTLY AFTER I BEGAN TO HAVE ELECTRONIC ISSUES WITH WIPERS, VOLUME CONTROL FOR BLUETOOTH, RADIO. SOME TYPE OF MODULE WAS REPLACED THIS TOOK TWO RETURN TRIPS BEFORE A PROBLEMS WAS FOUND. AGAIN WITHIN A MONTH THESE ELECTRICAL ISSUES RETURNED. ON MONDAY 3/24 THE TRANSMISSION ONCE AGAIN FAILED AS I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM A STOP. WITH THIS INCIDENT I WAS ALMOST KILLED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER BECAUSE I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO MOVE. LUCKILY THE TRUCK WAS ABLE TO SWERVE BEHIND ME A THE LAST MOMENT TO AVOID THE COLLISION. RESTARTING THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES CLEARED THE PROBLEM AND WAS IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT BACK TO MY DEALERSHIP. I EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASED IN AUG 2013, 33 DAYS OF SERVICE SO FAR AND NO RESOLUTION. I HAVE ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, CASE # [XXX]. NISSAN ADMITTED THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION BUT DOES NOT HAVE A FIX. AT THIS TIME THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND THE DEALER HAS PUT ME IN A FREE LOANER CAR UNTIL THEY HAVE A RESOLUTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR FAILED TO RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY DECELERATED WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE COMPUTER WOULD NEED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 11,402. UPDATED 11/26/13*CN ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE, THE CONSUMER COMPLAINED OF THE VEHICLE VIBRATING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. ALSO, THE ROOF WAS LOOSE, DUE TO THE MOLDING NOT HOLDING THE CLIP IN PLACE. UPDATED 12/02/13
MY CAR STARTED MISSING LIKE IT WAS GOING INTO NEUTRAL AND RPM'S WENT UP TO 5 AND ENGINE WAS ROARING WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65MPH. THE SUV LOST ALL POWER AND HAD TO COAST OVER TO SIDE OF HIGHWAY. RESTED THE SUV FOR 5-10 MINUTES THEN STARTED TO MOVE ALONG AND CAR WOULD ONLY GO BETWEEN 20-40 MPH WITH INTERMITTENT PERIODS OF LOSING ALL POWER JUST LIKE I WAS IN NEUTRAL. THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE ONLY TWO WEEKS OLD AND HAVING 666 MILES AT THE TIME OF INCIDENT. THE TRANSMISSION WAS DIAGNOSED WITH INTERNAL FAILURE OF TRANSMISSION BY THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. *TR
JUNE 4, 2013 I PURCHASED A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER PLATINUM MODEL. AROUND SEPTEMBER 2013, WHILE ASCENDING A SMALL HILL I NOTICED A SHUDDER SHAKE THAT LASTS ABOUT 4 TO 6 SECONDS. THE SITUATION HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING AROUND 25 MILES PER HOUR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM LOW SPEEDS. IT OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY SO I THOUGHT IT COULD BE THE PAVEMENT HOWEVER WITHIN THE PAST YEAR IT HAS BEEN MORE FREQUENT. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SHAKING DURING SLOW TURNS AND UPON HILLS THE TRANSMISSION FEELS STUCK AND YOU FINALLY FEEL THE GEAR KICK IN AND AFTER MAKING IT UPHILL OR STOPPING VEHICLE DRIVES SMOOTH AGAIN.. IT SEEMS AS IF THE CAR LOSES ACCELERATION POWER AND I HAVE TO RELEASE THE GAS PEDAL IN ORDER FOR IT TO STOP SHAKING AND THEN RETURN TO NORMAL. NISSAN NEEDS TO CAREFULLY INVESTIGATE AND FIX THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND ISSUE A MASS VEHICLE RECALL. *TR
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 43 MPH; WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES (WITHOUT STOPPING) AND BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AGAIN THE VEHICLE SHUDDERED FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS. THIS SAME OCCURRENCE HAPPENED PERIODICALLY AGAIN OVER A 2-DAY PERIOD. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SHEEHY NISSAN (SHORT PUMP) IN RICHMOND AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT NISSAN WAS SENDING ANOTHER TRANSMISSION FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO INSTALL. MY WIFE CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA REGARDING THE VEHICLE AND WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER; I ALSO CONTACTED NISSAN BY EMAIL ABOUT TWO DAYS LATER AS WE HAD NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK AND FILED A COMPLIANT ASKING THAT ME VEHICLE EITHER BE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER BRAND NEW 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER SL OR THAT THE ORGANIZATION REFUND MY MONEY. IN THE END NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS REFUSED TO HONOR MY REQUEST AND ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD ONLY REPAIR THE VEHICLE. *TR
I PURCHASED THE NISSAN PATHFINDER ON AUGUST 5, 2013. WITHIN 2 WEEKS, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUDDER WHEN DRIVING BETWEEN 20-30 MILES PER HOUR AND SUDDENLY LOSE POWER. I TRIED DIFFERENT TYPES OF GASOLINE WITHOUT SUCCESS. I FINALLY BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON SEPTEMBER 13. THEY SAID IT NEEDED A "SENSOR IN THE TRANSMISSION", THEY WOULD ORDER THE PART AND I COULD BRING IT BACK THE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY. I BROUGHT IT IN ON WEDNESDAY. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE AN ALL DAY JOB. NEAR THE END OF THE DAY, I WAS TOLD THAT THE PART DIDN'T FIT AND THEY HAD ORDERED ANOTHER ONE.IT WOULD BE IN THE FOLLOWING MONDAY. THEY ARRANGED FOR ME TO GET A RENTAL CAR. THEY HAD THE CAR FOR ANOTHER TEN DAYS. THEY CALLED FOR ME TO PICK IT UP. WHILE DRIVING BACK FROM THE RENTAL AGENCY, WITH THE SERVICE ADVISOR IN THE CAR, IT DID IT AGAIN! THEY DID NOT OFFER ANOTHER RENTAL OR TO TAKE IT BACK AND FIX IT, SO I TOOK IT HOME. A WEEK LATER, THE SHUDDERING WAS SO BAD, THAT I TOOK IT BACK IN AGAIN. THEY ORDERED AN ENTIRELY NEW TRANSMISSION (ANOTHER WEEK TO RECEIVE THE PART AND INSTALL IT). (WHY PUT A NEW TRANSMISSION IN A NEW CAR THAT ALREADY HAS A NEW TRANSMISSION THAT HAD BEEN REBUILT ONCE ALREADY WHEN THEY PUT IN THE TORQUE CONVERTER?) IT MAKES NO SENSE. MEANWHILE, I'M TERRIFIED TO HAVE TO TAKE THIS CAR BACK AGAIN. *TR
WHILE DRIVING AT AROUND 10 TO 15MPH WHILE TRYING TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT THE VEHICLE BRAKE PEDAL GOT HARD AND WOULD NOT STOP. AFTER APPLYING REALLY HARD PRESSURE ON BRAKE PEDAL ABS STARTED TO WORK AND MY CAR STOPPED INCHES BEFORE STRIKING ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS STOPPED AT THE LIGHT. TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I ESCALATED THE ISSUE TO NISSAN USA AND I AM CURRENTLY WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM. CAR IS CURRENTLY STILL SITTING AT DEALERSHIP AS I FEEL UNSAFE IN DRIVING IT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ABOUT 20 TO 25 MPH BUT WHEN I TRIED TO BRAKE THE BRAKE DID NOT STOPPED THE CAR AND THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT MY SELF AND MY GIRL FRIEND GOT INJURED AND WE HAD TO GO FOR CRAYAPRATOR FOR LONG TIME THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE AT ALL NORTH AMERICAN NISSAN IS NOT WILLING TO WORK WITH ME NOR THE ABC NISSAN WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR. WHEN I START TO ACCELERATE MY 2013 PATHFINDER, IT ACTS LIKE I HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS. MY HUSBAND THINKS IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, TWICE YESTERDAY (5-19-14). *TR
THE CAR STARTED TO VIBRATE AND SURGE . IT MAKES LOUD BANG NOISES AT THE FRONT OF THE CAR. IT FEELS LIKE ITS LOOSING POWER AND ITS HARD TO PICK UP. IT HAS DONE THIS WHILE APPROACHING TO A CAR OR SLOWING DOWN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER BUT STILL DOING THE SAME PROBLEM OVER AND OVER. *JS
MY AUNT WAS A PASSENGER IN MY CAR. SHE WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 110LBS. I NOTICED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN SHE WAS IN THE CAR THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT DID NOT GO OUT. WHEN THIS HAPPENED I ASKED HER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE THEN SIT BACK DOWN. THIS SEEMS TO TEMPORARILY SOLVED THE PROBLEM. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE VEHICLE AIRBAG. AFTER THE SERVICE THE DEALER TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED. HOWEVER, PERIODICALLY I NOTICED THAT THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTED. JUST RECENTLY A FRIEND WHO IS APPROXIMATELY 170LBS WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT. THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYED ON. SHE EXITED THE VEHICLE AND THEN SAT BACK DOWN BUT THE LIGHT STAYED ON FOR A FEW MINUTES OF DRIVING BEFORE GOING OFF. *TR
VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I STARTED TO ACCELERATE. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND STARTED TO SLOW DOWN TO A CRAWL EVEN WITH MY FOOT STILL ON THE GAS PEDAL. THE LOSS OF POWER LASTED 2-3 SECONDS AND THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED PICKING BACK UP AND DROVE NORMAL AGAIN. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED TWICE IN ONE WEEK. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME AND SAID THE VEHICLE HAS NO PROBLEMS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE I COULD HAVE BEEN CROSSING AND INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING CARS AND COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR
TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED SHORTLY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IT WOULD HESITATE AND JERK WHILE SHIFTING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE MANUFACTURER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHERE THE DEALER STATED THAT IT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION; HOWEVER, THE DEALER ONLY REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED SO THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THEY WOULD NEED TO TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND AS A RESULT DECLINED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE WAS 1100 MILES. RK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE FIRST DAY THAT I SAT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT (DAY 2 OF OWNERSHIP), WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING, THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED STATING THAT THE AIR BAG WAS OFF AND WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS A KNOWN CALIBRATION PROBLEM WITH THE PATHFINDER'S SEAT SENSORS AND THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON MY CAR, BUT THAT IT NEEDED TO BE RECALIBRATED, WHICH IT WAS. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED IT. THEY SAID THERE WAS A CAMPAIGN FOR THE PROBLEM AND WOULD ORDER A TORQUE CONVERTER. WE WERE TOLD IT WAS ON BACK ORDER. AFTER TWO AND HALF WEEKS THE PART WAS INSTALLED. THE DAY WE PICKED UP THE CAR IT STILL HAD THE SAME ISSUES.WE HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP OF THE CONTINUING PROBLEM. PROBLEM 2: THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG GOES ON AND OFF RANDOMLY, TURNING OFF THE AIRBAG. WE TOLD THE DEALERSHIP WHEN WE BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE SHUDDERING. THEY SAID IT WAS A WEIGHT LIMIT ISSUE AND THE WAY WE SIT. WE TOLD THEM IT DOES IT FOR OUR SON WHO WEIGHS 90 POUNDS AND THAT WE SIT THE SAME WAY EVERY TIME. WE ALSO TOLD THEM IT DOES IT FOR ME OFF AND ON IN THE SAME DAY AND THAT OUR WEIGHT DOESN'T FLUCTUATE THAT MUCH IN THE SAME DAY. WE WERE TOLD IT TESTED FINE, SO IT WILL NOT NEED REPAIR. JUST THIS MORNING I GOT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE THE LIGHT WAS OFF, WE WENT INTO A STORE AND WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE CAR THE LIGHT WAS ON. I HAVE TOLD THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS AGAIN TODAY. *TR
DRIVING 45 MILES PER HOUR ON A STRAIGHT LEVEL ROAD, WHILE ACCELERATING TO 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY; THEN BEGAN SHUTTERING ALONG WITH A DROP IN POWER; AFTER 3 TO 4 SECONDS, THE VEHICLE RETURNED TO NORMAL DRIVING. THIS WAS THE THIRD OCCURRENCE SINCE I PURCHASED THE 2013 PATHFINDER THREE MONTHS AGO. . READING NOW, NHTSA DATABASE INDICATES MULTIPLE CONSUMER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE PATHFINDER TRANSMISSION ISSUE. *TR
THE INCIDENT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP UPON PURCHASE. THE MILAGE ON THE CAR AT THAT TIME WAS 290 MI. THE CAR WENT INTO A BUCKING/JERKING/LUNGING WHEN WE STARTED TO ACCELERATE FROM A 35 MPH ZONE TO A 55 MPH. OVER THE NEXT DAYS AND WEEKS IT CONTINUED TO OCCUR WHILE ACCELERATING AND ALSO WHILE MAINTAINING CONSISTENT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT ALSO REGULARLY EXPERIENCED A RUMBLE STRIP FEEL/SOUND WHEN ACCELERATING OFF A STOP WHEN TRAVELING 20-40 MPH. AT FIRST IT HAPPENED EVERY FEW DAYS BUT WITHIN A MONTH BECAME A NEARLY DAILY EXPERIENCE. NISSAN ACKNOWLEDGED THAT IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION, BUT HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIX OUR VEHICLE AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS. ABOUT A MONTH AFTER OWNING THE VEH, THEY PERFORMED A COMPUTER UPDATE TO ATTEMPT TO FIX BUT THE FIX FAILED. A MONTH AFTER THAT THEY REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER TO ATTEMPT TO FIX. THAT FIXED THE JERKING/BUCKING/LUNGING BUT THE RUMBLE STRIP SHUDDER STILL PERSISTS AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN ACCELERATING AROUND 20-40 MPH. IT HAPPENS DAILY FOR A WEEK OR SO... SOMETIMES ONCE A DAY, SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY... THEN IT WON'T DO IT FOR A WEEK OR SO... THEN IT RETURNS AGAIN IN THE SAME PATTERN. OUR VEHICLE NOW HAS ABOUT 8200 MILES AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. NISSAN HAS FAILED TO FIX OUR CAR DESPITE AN ONGOING TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. *TR
THE CAR STARED TO SHUTTER LIKE DRIVING OVER RUMBLE STRIPS, AND LOST OF POWER. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TWICE AND YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAID CAN'T REPRODUCE IT. I HATE TAKEN CAR BACK TO THE DEALER THEY NEVER FIX ANYTHING. PLEASE HELP!!!!! *TR
THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUDDER AND SHAKE VIOLENTLY AT LOW SPEEDS - 17 TO 25 MPH. I WAS CONCERNED THAT IT WOULD DAMAGE THE VEHICLE AND CAUSE MOTOR MOUNTS AND OTHER PARTS TO SHAKE LOOSE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP IN SALISBURY, MD WHILE I WAS ON VACATION AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE CONDITION. THEY SENT ME ON MY WAY WITH NO CORRECTIVE MEASURES. (YET IT DID IT ALL THE WAY HOME) UPON RETURNING HOME I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. THEY WERE MUCH MORE SUPPORTIVE AND STATED THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH 2013 PATHFINDERS AND IT WOULD NEED A NEW TORQUE CONVERTER AND BE REPROGRAMMED. I LEFT THE CAR WITH THEM FOR OVER A WEEK AND THEY MADE THE REPAIRS. THEY STATED THEY DID NOT KNOW IF IT WOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM. UPON GETTING THE CAR BACK IT NO LONGER SHOOK AND VIBRATED AT LOW SPEEDS BUT INSTEAD IT THEN SHOOK AND VIBRATED VIOLENTLY AT MID SPEEDS (40 TO 50 MPH). I RETURNED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DETERMINED IT NEEDED A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION. THEY KEPT IT 10 DAYS...REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. I PICKED IT UP 9/20/13. WHEN I DROVE IT HOME IT WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR. I HAD TO SHIFT IT SEVERAL TIMES TO GET IT TO MOVE OUT OF NEUTRAL AND FINALLY IT TOOK HOLD. THE FOLLOWING DAY IT WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO CONNECT AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AND DROVE IT STRAIGHT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I AM BACK IN A RENTAL AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY VEHICLE. PERHAPS THE VIOLENT SHAKING IS WHAT IS CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LINES TO COME LOOSE. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH AND EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH THE ABS BRAKING SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT NO DIAGNOSIS WAS PROVIDED. THE CONTACT THEN RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V445000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM , SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SERVICED FOR THE RECALL AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE INCIDENT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7500.
