I WENT TO USE THE JACK PROVIDED BY NISSAN TO CHANGE A FLAT TIRE. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THE JACK HAD EVER BEEN USED. AS I STARTED TO ELEVATE THE VEHICLE HIGHER I NOTICED THE JACK STARTED TO BEND AND COLLAPSE, AS THE SCREW MECHANISM ALSO STARTED TO BEND. THE ATTACHED PHOTOS PROBABLY DO NOT TRULY SHOW HOW MUCH BOTH THE FRAME & SCREW OF THE JACK HAD ACTUALLY BENT. I HAD TO USE ANOTHER JACK TO GET THE FAULTY ONE OUT FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. AFTERWARDS WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF A VICE, I WAS ABLE TO CLOSE THE DEFECTIVE JACK AND IN DOING SO IT SOMEWHAT STRAIGHTENED THE SCREW AND FRAME. THE SCREW WAS SEVERELY CONCAVE, AND THE JACK FRAME LISTED A LOT WITH THE VEHICLE WEIGHT. I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE DOING THIS ON A CONCRETE DRIVEWAY AT HOME. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS FULLY ENGAGED, THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK WITH THE ENGINE OFF, AND I HAD WOODEN BLOCKS BEHIND THE REAR TIRES. MY CONCERN WAS THAT HAD THIS HAPPENED ON THE SIDE OF A ROAD, AND I DIDN'T HAVE A SECOND JACK; OR HAD NOT NOTICED THE BENDING, MYSELF OR ANYONE ELSE IN A SIMILAR SITUATION COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. IN DOING AN INTERNET SEARCH AFTERWARDS, I FOUND A NUMBER OF OWNERS WHO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR SCISSOR JACK FROM THE SAME MAKE, MODEL & YEAR.
WE DROVE AN HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY THE RPMS WENT OVER 4000, AND THE CAR STARTED DECELERATING, WE WERE UNABLE TO GET OR KEEP HIGHWAY SPEED, EVEN WITH PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. LUCKILY WE WERE ABLE TO PULL TO SIDE OF HIGHWAY. AFTER 15 MINUTES IT SEEMED TO FUNCTION, BUT A MILE LATER IT DID THE SAME THING. EVEN WORSE ON ANY SORT OF INCLINE, EVEN SLIGHT. FOR FEAR OF OUR SAFETY, WE HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED 55 MILES BACK HOME. I LOOKED IT UP AND AM WONDERING WHY THERE IS NO RECALL?? OUR SAFETY AS WELL AS OTHERS ALSO ON THE ROAD IS AT RISK!
MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE, HAS 94,000 MILE THE TRANSMISSION HAS NEVER BEN RIGHT , I PURCHASED A NISSAN BELEIVING THEY WERE A GOOD MANUFACTURER, AND THE CAR WOULD LAST LONGER THSN 3 YEARS, MY CAR STALLS OUT , IT GOES FROM 70 MPH TO 30 SUDENLY, VERY DANGEROUS, I WAS GETTING OFF THE INTERSTATE AND WIYHOUT WARNING, I HOLD ACLELERATER DOWN SND NOTHING HSPPEND IT WONT MOVE I HAVE ALMOST GOT IN A WRECK 7 TIMES FROM NISSANS JUNK TRANSMISSION THAT HAS CLEARLY HAVING ISSUES GOR YEARS , YET NO RECALL MY EXSTENDED WARRANTY I PURCHASED IS VOID BC I DIDNT GET ALL MY MAINTANCE DID AT DEALERSHIP, THAT WARRANTY IS A JOKE DONT WAST YOUR MONEY,THEY WIL CHARGE 4700.00 TO FIX MY CAR , WHICH IS WRONG , THERE IS ALOT OF CONSUMERS PROBABLY DYING IN ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS NISSAN PROBLEM PLEASE HEAR. THE COMPLAINTS THERE IS HUNDREDS
LOST THE ABILITY TO SPEED UP AFTER TRAVELING ABOVE 70 FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF. CAR BEGAN SLOWING DOWN AND I HAD TO PULL OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES BEFORE I COULD ACCELERATE AGAIN.
STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT AND TRY TO ACCELERATE BUT NOTHING HAPPENS, CANNOT GET ABOVE 3000 RPMS. AFTER ABOUT 20 SECONDS, THE CAR BEGINS TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE SO FAR AND I'M SEEING MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ON VARIOUS YEARS OF NISSAN ROGUES. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY NISSAN.
AUGUST 2ND 2016 I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM FARRIS MOTTOR IN JEFFERSON CITY TN IN OCT/NOV 2016 TO DELIVER MAIL IN. THE CONVERSION KIT PUT INTO MY CAR DID NOT MODIFY THE ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION IN ANY WAY THEREFORE MY WARRANTY WAS NOT VOIDED. THE CAR RAN WELL FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS THEN ONE DAY ON ROUTE IN A LEVEL GROUND NEIGHBORHOOD I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET SERVICING THE MAILBOXES, I STOPPED AT ONE AND WHEN I WENT TO SPEED BACK UP MY CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. I HAD THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WOULD BARELY MOVE. THE RPM'S DIDN'T EVEN REV UP, IT WAS JUST SILENCE, THEN AFTER A FEW SECONDS MY CAR WOULD PICK UP AND MOVE. THIS WENT ON FOR THE REST OF THE DAY AND EVERYDAY AFTER THAT. IT IS WORSE WHEN GOING UP HILL, INSTEAD OF IT PICKING UP AND MOVING AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT DOESN'T MOVE AND INSTEAD STARTS TO ROLL BACKWARDS. ALL THIS ALSO HAPPENS IN REVERSE AND STILL NO RPM'S. SO I TOOK IT TO FARRIS ABOUT THREE TIMES AND GOT NOTHING OUT OF THEM, AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP THEY SAID ACCORDING TO MY WARRANTY ANY WORK TO THE VEHICLE OR EVEN DOING DIAGNOSTICS WOULD HAVE TO BE APPROVED BY FARRIS WHICH THEY DID NOT. SO I WENT BACK TO FARRIS AGAIN AND HAD A TECH RIDE WITH ME SO I COULD REPLICATE WHAT WAS GOING ON. HE OBSERVED AND AGREED WITH WHAT WAS HAPPENING BUT SAID HE DIDN'T BELIEVE IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION BUT IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE. AND HE ALSO SEEMED TO BLAME MY PROFESSION FOR THE WAY THE CAR IS ACTING DUE TO THE WAY I DRIVE BUT IF THAT WERE TRUE THEN EVERYONE AT THE POST OFFICE WOULD BE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THEIR VEHICLES, SORRY BUT THAT'S NOT THE CASE. WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE IN A MOUNTAINOUS AREA, OUT OF NOWHERE MY CAR WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. I HAD TO PULL OFF OF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE CAR TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. NOW THIS IS HAPPENING ON A REGULAR BASIS IF I DRIVE MY CAR FOR LONGER THAN AN HOUR AT 60+ MPH, IT WILL SUDDENLY STOP ACCELERATING. IN ADDITION, IN THE LAST FEW DAYS, AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE INTERSTATE OFF RAMP, I TRIED TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND THE CAR JUST BARELY MOVED, ENOUGH FOR ME TO HAVE PULLED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO KEEP GOING TO GET MYSELF OUT OF THE WAY. I HAD TO QUICKLY REVERSE TO MOVE MY CAR FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. IF THERE HAD BEEN A CAR BEHIND ME AND I WAS UNABLE TO REVERSE I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED OVER AND OVER AGAIN AS AN ISSUE WITH THE CVT. MY CAR IS ONLY A 2013 AND JUST BARELY OVER THE (CRAPPY) POWERTRAIN WARRANTY THAT NISSAN OFFERS ON THIS CAR.
AFTER DRIVING FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME, THE CAR WILL SUDDENTLY AND CONTINUALLY FAIL TO ACCELERATE OVER A CERTAIN SPEED EVEN WITH THE FUEL PEDAL PRESSED TO THE FLOOR. I BELIEVE THE CAR GOES INTO A FAIL SAFE MODE DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THIS HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE AND I COULD NOT LONGER EVEN GET UP TO THE SPEED LIMIT
STARTED 3 DAY AGO STALLING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND LOSE POWER EVEN WITH THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY DOWN. ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED. THE ENGINE IS STILL RUNNING BUT HAVE TO PUT IN PARK AND TURN ENGINE OFF AND RESTART. HAPPENED 4 TIMES TODAY ON MY WAY TO WORK. YOU LOSE POWER WITH EVERYTHING BUT ENGINE STILL WORKING. CALLED NISSAN TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL BECAUSE THERE WERE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM AND THEY SAID NO. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. NISSAN WANTED ME TO BRING TO DEALERSHIP AND PAY 114.00 JUST TO GET A DIAGNOIS .ONLINE THEY SAID IT WAS A FAIL SAFETY WHICH NISSAN SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS BADLY HURT OR KILLED.
WHEN DRIVING ON HWY FOR MORE THAN 30 MINUTES AND YOU REACH AN INCLINE CAR LOOSES ALL ACCELERATION AND SLOWS DOWN TO 40 MPH NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO IT WON'T GO I NEARLY GOT HIT BY 18 WHEELER TWICE IT IS VERY DANGEROUS NISSAN DEALER SAID THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BUT I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON LINE ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GET KILLED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A MEDIAN DIVIDER. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED SEVERAL MINUTES LATER. THE AIR BAG POWDER SUBSTANCE BURNED THE CONTACT'S RIGHT HAND AND LEFT THIGH, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
BOUGHT THIS 2013 ROGUE ABOUT 18 MONTHS AGO. I TRAVEL FOR WORK SO I HAVE PUT ALOT OF MILES IN A SHORT TIME. I HAVE HAD ALL THE MAINTENANCE DONE BY A LOCAL SHOP. RECENTLY ON A LONG FOUR HOUR DRIVE ON THE INTERSTATE. THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT DOWN AND WENT INTO ITS SAFE MODE. I COULD NOT EVEN GET IT TO BACK OUT OF A SLANTED PARKING LOT THAT I HAD PULLED IN TO DROP MY WIFE OFF. I HAD TO LET IT COOL FOR 30 MINUTES. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND THEY SAID IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THESE CVT TRANSMISSIONS AND IT WOULD NEED A TRANSMISSION COOLER AND VALVE BLOCK INSTALLED. THEY QUOTED ME A COST OF $2600.00 FOR THE REPAIR. I THINK THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT I SHOULD BE CHARGED THIS WHEN THERE OWN SERVICE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT NISSAN HAS RELEASED SEVERAL FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS AND IT IS HARD TO GET NISSAN TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I TRIED CALLING THE NISSAN AFFAIRS. THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO CALL ME BACK BUT FROM EVERYTHING I HAVE READ I DO NOT THINK THEY WILL DO ANYTHING.
2013 NISSAN ROGUE CAUGHT ON FIRE LESS THAN 10 MINUTES AFTER IT WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, AFTER A SHORT TRIP RUNNING ERRANDS. VEHICLE WAS NOT RUNNING WHEN FIRE BEGAN. INITIALLY, SMOKE BEGAN TO ESCAPE FROM UNDER HOOD THEN QUICKLY CAUGHT ON FIRE. ENTIRE FRONT END OF VEHICLE BURNED BEFORE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED.
TAKATA RECALL. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED FOR NO APPARENT REASON AT ALL WHILE MY 25YR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE ON THE HIGHWAY HOME FROM A CHARITY EVENT. WHEN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, IT CAUSED MY DAUGHTER TO LOSE CONTROL AND HIT THE GUARD RAILS. MY DAUGHTER SUFFERED SEVERE HEAD TRAUMA, BLEEDING AND BRUISES, INJURY TO HER EYE, SCRATCHES AND BURNS FROM WHATEVER THE SUBSTANCE WAS IN THE AIR BAGS. SHE SPENT THE DAY IN THE HOSPITAL WITH NUMEROUS TESTS DONE, HAD SOME SURGICAL PROCEDURES DONE, ON MEDICATIONS. SOME OF HER BRUISES RESULTED IN SWELLINGS AND MORE BRUISES. SHE STILL HAS A LONG WAY TO GO AND IS STILL UNDER THE DOCTORS' CARE. THANK GOD SHE'S ALIVE BUT MY TRUCK WAS A TOTAL LOSS. MY DAUGHTER'S SELF-ESTEEM IS LOW BECAUSE SHE'S HAVING A HARD TIME DEALING WITH THE PAIN, SCARS AND BRUISES. HER SLOW RECOVERY IS STILL AFFECTING HER LOSS FROM WORK AND INCONVENIENCE OF EVEN GETTING TO WORK BECAUSE THE INSURANCE COMPANYHAS DEEMED MY TRUCK A TOTAL LOSS. MY DAUGHTER IS STILL UNDERGOING MORE MEDICAL TREATMENT AND I'M TRYING TO CONCENTRATE ON GETTING WELL AND WORK ABOUT THE MEDICAL BILLS LATER. SHE STILL HAS CONSTANT HEADACHES DAILY BECAUSE OF HER HEAD INJURIES AND NOW LIGHT IS AFFECTING HER WHICH CANNOT BE CONTROLLED EVERYWHERE SHE GOES. AS A MOTHER, I HATE TO SEE MY DAUGHTER IN THIS PAIN EVERY DAY, I FEEL HELPLESS. I WANT MY DAUGHTER TO HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE, BUT SHE'S ALWAYS SAD OR CRYING BECAUSE OF THE PAIN. THIS IS NOT FAIR.
I DRIVE ABOUT 75 MILES TO AND FROM WORK. DURING THE SUMMER, WHEN I USE MY AIR CONDITIONING IN THE AFTERNOON DRIVE HOME AS I EXIT AND COME TO A STOP AT THE FIRST STOP SIGN I GET NO ACCELARATION AFTER THE STOP. THIS BECOMES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF CARS ALREADY TRAVELING IN THE LANE I'M PULLING INTO. THE REST OF THE RIDE HOME AT FUTURE STOPS IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. I NOW HAVE TO WAIT FOR A LARGE GAP IN TRAFFIC TO PULL OUT CAUSING TRAFFIC TO BACK UP BEHIND ME. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM FOR ANYONE DRIVING THE ROGUE WITH THE AC ON FOR LONG DISTANCES. THE TRANSMISSIONS ISN'T SLIPPING, IT SIMPLY HAS NO POWER AFTER THE STOPS. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME ON HOT DAYS IN THE SUMMER WHEN THE AC IS USED FOR THE RIDE HOME.
I WAS VISITING FAMILY IN ARIZONA WITH MY DAUGHTER (WHO IS 100% HANDICAP). MY MOTHER WAS IN THE BACK SEAT WITH MY DAUGHTER. MY FATHER IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WITH ME. CHILD LOCKS ON AND ALL DOORS LOCKED AS THE CAR WAS IN MOTION, STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, GOT A GREEN LIGHT TO TURN LEFT, WAS MAKING THE TURN AND MY DAUGHTER'S DOOR (RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR) FLEW OPEN. MY MOTHER HAD TO GRAB MY DAUGHTER. I STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD IN PHOENIX, FATHER JUMPED OUT OF THE VEHICLE, CHECKED MY DAUGHTER AND THE DOOR AND THE CHILD LOCK WAS STILL ON. I CALLED NISSAN AND HAVE AN APPOINTMENT BUT OF COURSE THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS SITUATION BUT TO BRING IT IN.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY 2013 ROUGE. WHEN THE CAR WARMS UP IT STARTS MAKING A HUMMING SOUND. THE RPM GO UP QUICKLY AND EXPERIENCE LOSS OF POWER. IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CONFIRM THE NOISE AND EVERYTHING ELSE I DESCRIBED. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS BURNT. THEY ASKED ME TO CONTACT NISSAN FOR ASSISTANCE SINCE I HAD 64,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE AND THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 60,000 MILES. AFTER TALKING TO THE NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE HE INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULDN'T ASSIST ME BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. MY PREVIOUS CAR WAS A 2008 ROGUE. I EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUE AT 90,000 MILES. BACK IN 2010, NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY'S FOR THE 2008-2010 ROGUES. THEY SAID "NISSAN IS TAKING THESE ACTIONS TO DEMONSTRATE OUR CONFIDENCE IN THE CVT TECHNOLOGY AND TO SHOW OUR COMMITMENT TO STAND BEHIND OUR PRODUCTS." AFTER MY PHONE CALL NISSAN DEMONSTRATED THAT THEY ARE NOT CONFIDENT IN THE CVT TECHNOLOGY AND THAT THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO PROVIDE AN SAFE TRAVELING VEHICLES FOR MY KIDS TO BE IN. NOW, IT HAS SLOWLY BECOME DANGEROUS VEHICLE WITH THIS ISSUE NOT KNOWING WHEN THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO FAIL AND LEAVE US STRANDED.
2013 NISSAN ROGUE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR RECALL NOTICE AND RIGHT REAR AXLE REPAIRS. *SMD ALSO, THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE RIGHT REAR AXLE. HOWEVER, THE NOISE CONTINUED. *JB
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE OFF THE FREEWAY ONTO AN EXIT RAMP WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHUT DOWN AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON ITS OWN. THE TRANSMISSION WAS ACTING LIKE IT WAS ''SLIPPING.'' SHE PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT TWO BLOCKS TO OUR HOME. THE CVT TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED BY OUR DEALER.
THE WINDSHIELD SPONTANEOUSLY CRACKED ABOUT 18 INCHES FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE TOWARD THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WITH NOTHING HITTING THE WINDSHIELD. APPARENTLY IT IS A STRESS FRACTURE IN THE GLASS THAT HAS BEEN WIDELY REPORTED AND SHOULD BE CLAIMED AS A DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN THE CRACK OCCURRED.
WHEN IN MOTION, DRIVING 50+ MPH, CAR WILL SLIP INTO LOWER GEAR AND ONLY REACH A MAX SPEED OF ABOUT 30 MPH, EVEN WHEN FLOORING THE GAS PEDAL
I HAVE A LITTLE OVER 75,000 AND I AM BEING TOLD I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION . I AM THE ONLY OWNER BOUGHT BRAND NEW NEVER BEEN RAGGED OUT HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THE MAINTENANCE ON SUV. THE VEHICLE START ED HAVING PROBLEM SHIFTING IT WOULD REV UP TO ABOUT 4,000 RPMS THEN SHIFT AND THEN IT JUST STOPPED SHIFTING ALL TOGETHER. *TR
AS WITH MANY YEARS BEFORE , THE NISSAN ROGUE HAS HAD TRANSMISSION SAFETY ISSUES.WHILE DRIVING IN THE LEFT LANE ON RT. 95 IN FLORIDA THE VEHICLE (ONCE HOT) ALMOST COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. THE POWER IS ALL BUT LOST , FORCING US TO GET OFF THE ROADWAY BEFORE WE ARE HIT AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FROM BEHIND.THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS. ON FRIDAY AUGUST 28, 2015 WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 93 IN NH NEAR MILE MARKER 48 THE VEHICLE WHILE TRAVELING AT 75 MPH LOSS ALL SPEED WHILE THE ENGINE WAS AT 5500 RMP. I PULLED OVER FROM THE PASSING LANE INTO THE BREAKDOWN LANE WHILE OTHER VEHICLES WHERE DODGING ME. I CALL AA FOR A TOW AND AFTER ABOUT A 15 MINUTE WAIT I RESTARTED THE CAR AND EVERYTHING WAS WORKING. I CALLED AND CANCELLED AAA AND PROCEED ANOTHER 60 MILE TO NORTH CONWAY, NH WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. I'VE DRIVEN THE CAR ALL WEEK TO WORK FOR ABOUT 120 MILE PER DAY WITH OUT ANY PROBLEMS. A SIMILAR PROBLEM HAPPEN ABOUT A YEAR AGO WHILE DRIVE ON INTERSTATE 89 IN VERMONT. THE CAR SPREED WENT FROM 70 TO 20 MPH WHILE THE ENGINE WAS REVING AT ABOUT 5000RPMS. AFTER ABOUT A MILE THE SPEED WAS RECOVERED. I'VE INFORMED THE DEALERSHIP SALEM NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THIS ISSUE PRESENTS A PROBLEM WITH SAFETY AS THE VEHICLE LOSES SPEED WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS.
MY CAR HAS A CVT TRANSMISSION THAT IS VERY SENSITIVE TO HEAT. WHEN IT GETS HOT (WHICH CAN OCCUR WHEN DRIVING LONG DISTANCES, UP HILL OR IN HOT WEATHER) THE CAR GOES INTO SAFE MODE THAT REDUCES THE SPEED OF THE CAR DRAMATICALLY AND YOU HAVE NO ACCELERATION POWER. I WAS TRAVELING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND HALF AT A CONSTANT SPEED OF 75-80 ON A FLAT TO ROLLING FREEWAY IN THE SUMMER (TEMPERATE AVERAGE HERE ABOUT 100*). ALL OF A SUDDEN I HAVE NO ACCELERATION POWER. I START DROPPING SPEED ON A TWO LANE FREEWAY WITH NO SHOULDER AND CONSTRUCTION WALLS ON EITHER SIDE WHEN PEOPLE ARE COMING UP ON ME AT 90 MPH. BY THE TIME I MAKE IT TO THE NEXT EXIT, WHICH IS UPHILL, I AM ONLY DRIVING 40 MPH EVEN THOUGH I HAVE IT FLOORED. WHEN I EXIT, STOP AT THE (2 WAY) STOP SIGN TO PULL INTO THE REST STOP A CROSS THE ROAD, I HAVE TO SLAM MY FOOT TO THE FLOOR TO GET MY CAR TO INCH ACROSS THE INTERSECTION. THE WHOLE TIME I HOPED NO OTHER CARS WOULD COME FLYING DOWN THE ROAD THAT DID NOT HAVE A STOP SIGN. ONCE I GET TO THE REST STOP AND TURNED MY CAR OFF, IT RAN FINE FOR THE NEXT HOUR AND SO AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SCARED ME HALF TO DEATH. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THEY TOLD ME THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE (WHICH MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT) BUT UNLESS THEY CAN DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, THEY CANNOT FIX IT. SO THEY DROVE MY CAR FOR AT 20 MINUTE TEST RUN, THEN TO LUNCH, THEN HOME AT NIGHT (WHEN IT IS NOT AS HOT) AND CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE MY CAR BACK TO ME. I TRAVEL FOR WORK AND OFTEN HAVE TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCES, AT FREEWAY SPEEDS IN HOT WEATHER. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD IF ALL A SUDDEN I LOSE ALL POWER TO MY CAR ON A FREEWAY. I ALSO FEEL THAT NISSAN SHOULD NOT REQUIRE THIS PROBLEM TO BE DUPLICATED WHEN IT IS SUCH A RANDOM SCENARIO THAT CAUSES IT AND THE DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT WILLING TO TEST THAT TYPE THE SCENARIO ACCURATELY
MY 2013 NISSAN ROGUE AWD LOSES ACCELERATION ON THE HIGHWAY. I LIVE IN A MOUNTAINOUS AREA AND IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN WHEN ACCELERATING UP HILL. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME AT BETWEEN 65-75 MPH. I WILL BE ACCELERATING UP A HILL AT 70 MPH AND IT WILL DROP DOWN TO SOMETIMES 50 MPH EVEN WHEN PRESSING I'M THE ACCELERATOR COMPLETELY. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS WHEN SEMI TRUCKS ARE PASSING YOU IN THE MOUNTAINS GOING 10 UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE AND NISSAN SHOULD RECALL THEM IMMEDIATELY. I'VE HEARD OF MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ACROSS THE GLOBE WITH THIS MODEL. MY ROGUE IS ONLY NOW AT 57,000 MILES. I NOTICED THE ISSUE AT 50,000 MILES. I AM AN EXCELLENT DRIVER AND I DO NOT SPEED.
THE TRANSMISSION CONSISTENTLY OVERHEATS (SERVICE DEPT TOLD ME THIS IS WHAT THE ISSUE IS) AND CAUSED THE CAR TO GO INTO "FAIL SAFE" MODE WHICH MEANS YOU HAVE NO POWER. I WAS TRAVELLING IN AN 75 MPH ZONE AND THE FASTEST I COULD GET TO WAS 60. TRACTOR TRAILERS WERE HAVING TO SLAM ON THEIR BREAKS. I PUT MY FLASHERS ON TO MAKE IT SAFER. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 6 DIFFERENT TRIPS. PER THE SVC DEPT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE NISSAN ROGUE AND THE FLUID GETS TOO HOT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE BECAUSE YOU DO NOT KNOW IT IS IN FAIL SAFE UNTIL YOU ATTEMPT TO GIVE THE CAR MORE POWER LIKE TO PASS OR SOMETHING. VERY VERY DANGEROUS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,900.
TRAVELING OUT OF TOWN ON HIGHWAY. SPEED OF 75MPH. ABOUT AN HOUR INTO TRAVEL, POWER STARTED TO DECREASE,PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL HAD NO EFFECT. LOSING POWER HAD TO PULL OFF TO SIDE. ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT, TRYING TO AVID BEING HIT BY OHTER AUTOS ON HIGHWAY. WHEN I TRIED TO PULL BACK ON ROAD, THERE WAS NO POWER A SNAIL CRAWL, THEN IN SECONDS IT CHARGED IN TO GEAR. HEARD A HIGH PITCH WHINNING NOISE. SHORTLY AFTER. IT OCCURRED AGAIN WITH IN 24 HOURS, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM. THEN STARTED MY OWN INVESTIGATION, AND FOUND THIS SITE. I AM IN SHOCK HOW MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. NISSAN REALLY PUT OUT A POOR PRODUCT, AND THEY BETTER CORRECT. ALSO WHEN CAR WAS PURCHASE WITH 250 MILES EST. GAS PER GALLON WS SUPPOSE TO BE 28 HIGWAY- 22 IN TOWN.. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO GET MORE THEN 20 MPG OUT OF MY AUTO. I HAVE ALSO SEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS.
THIS 2013 NISSAN ROGUE LOST ACCELERATION COMPLETELY WHEN ON A SLIGHT HILL/INCLINE. SPEED WENT FROM 60MPH TO 30MPH IN SECONDS, NEARLY CAUSING A COLLISION WITH A BIG RIG TRUCK ON MY SIDE AND A LARGE VEHICLE COMING UP BEHIND. THE GAS PEDAL WAS COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESULT IN ACCELERATION. WHEN ABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, I HAD TO POWER DOWN VEHICLE COMPLETELY. I OPENED THE HOOD (HOPING TO COOL THE POTENTIALLY HOT ENGINE TO RESOLVE) AND RESTART. I HAD TO RESTART A COUPLE TIMES TO GET THE CAR TO RECOGNIZE BEING IN "GEAR." THERE WAS NO WARNING, NO SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT, NOTHING. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENT ON OIL CHANGES, ETC. THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE CAUSED BODILY HARM OR INJURY HAD I NOT BEEN ABLE TO SAFELY GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, ESPECIALLY SINCE WE WERE ON A HILL AND EVERYONE IS TRYING TO MAINTAIN MOMENTUM BEHIND ME ON A TWO LANE ROAD. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY CONCERN. SINCE THAT ISSUE, THE VEHICLE HAS NOW DONE IT APPROXIMATELY 6 MORE TIMES.

DURING OUR FAMILY VACATION IN 2015, WE WERE DRIVING THRU GEORGIA AND THE CAR WAS SET ON CRUISE CONTROL. WE WERE IN SOME HEAVY TRAFFIC, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, THE CRUISE KICKED OFF, THE CAR BEGAN A RAPID DECELERATION, THE RPM'S WENT TO ABOUT 5,000 AND WE ENDED UP CAUSING A TRAFFIC SNARL IN 5 LANES OF TRAFFIC UNTIL WE COULD COAST THIS VEHICLE OFF THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY FOR US, WE WERE ABLE TO DO SO WITHOUT INJURY TO OUR VEHICLE OR US PERSONALLY. IT BECAME A CLEARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION IN A BIG HURRY! WE CALLED A NISSAN DEALERSHIP CLOSE BY (FOUND ON THE INTERNET) AND SPOKE TO A SERVICE MANAGER. THEY WERE ABOUT TO CLOSE DOWN FOR THE DAY, HE WAS KIND ENOUGH TO GIVE US HIS PERSONAL CELL NUMBER AND TOLD US TO LET THE VEHICLE 'REST' FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES AND THEN IT SHOULD BE FINE TO DRIVE AGAIN. HE EXPLAINED THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION 'SAFETY MECHANISM' THAT HAD KICKED IN AND IT'S BUILT TO SLOW THE SYSTEM DOWN TO COOL.WE DISCOVERED MANY WEBSITES DEDICATED TO PROBLEMS WITH THE 2013 NISSAN ROGUE CVT. FAILURE, AFTER FAILURE WERE NOTED, AND NISSAN WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT COSTS. AS THE 3 YEAR 36,000 MILE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED THE CUSTOMER IS FORCED TO COVER THE COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT. THE AVERAGE COST BEING $4,200 FOR LABOR AND PARTS. QUITE SIGNIFICANT FOR ANY WORKING FAMILY. I AM ASKING FOR GUIDANCE IN THIS ISSUE, AND ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED WHERE I SHOULD TURN FOR ASSISTANCE IN RESOLVING. AS I STATED ABOVE, I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR/REPLACEMENT. IF THE TRANSMISSION GOES OUT, I WILL HAVE A $22,000 PIECE OF USELESS METAL IN MY DRIVEWAY. THIS WAS AND IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT HAS LEFT ME WONDERING IF I CAN EVER TRUST THE CRUISE CONTROL ON MY VEHICLE AGAIN. THIS DEFECT HAS GOT TO BE FIXED QUICKLY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. PER NHTSA RECALL 15V-032: WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE IN TO OUR NISSAN DEALER - CONTINENTAL NISSAN, ANCHORAGE, ALASKA TO HAVE THIS RECALL ADDRESSED. THIS WAS DONE LAST MONTH. AT THAT TIME THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE THE WATERPROOF SEAL REQUIRED TO FIX AN UNDAMAGED PIECE, NOR HARNESSES TO FIX A PROBLEM PIECE. AT THAT TIME, THEY SAID THEY "CHECKED IT OUT" BUT WOULD CALL US BACK AS SOON AS PARTS ARRIVED. THEY HAVE OUR INFORMATION, BUT IN OVER FOUR WEEKS HAVE YET TO CONTACT US. SINCE THIS IS A SAFETY RECALL, PARTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXPEDITED FOR OUR VEHICLE (AS WELL AS OTHERS) AND WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CONTACTED QUICKLY TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. ON SATURDAY, MAY 16TH HEADING ON THE 91 EAST BY BELLFLOWER, CA. FRWY I WAS DRIVING AND WHEN A SUDDEN STOP I FOUND IT HARD TO MAKE A STOP BECAUSE THE BRAKE FELT AS IF IT SUNK IN. I UNFORTUNATELY HIT A TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME. THE VEHICLE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY DAMAGE BUT MY NISSAN 2013 ROGUE DID. I TOOK PICTURES TO SHOW THE DAMAGE. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT, I WAS VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE DID RECEIVE A FRONT IMPACT BUT THE AIR BAGS HAD NO REACTION TO THE HIT. AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT I RODE WITH MY 3 CHILDREN AGES, 18, 15 AND 11 AND MY FIANC. PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GET IT'S MAINTENANCE AND AFTER THIS HAPPENING I WAS SURE THAT THE VEHICLE FELT VERY DIFFERENT. IT WAS ALMOST AS IF IT WOULD ACCELERATE AND THE BRAKES KEPT SINKING IN WITH HAVING A DELAY IN MAKING A FULL STOP. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN A BODY SHOP THROUGH MY INSURANCE AND I DO NOT RECALL THE MILEAGE? TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE THE DRIVER WAS AT A STOP SIGN ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT, THE CONTACT NOTICED ANOTHER VEHICLE COMING TOWARDS HER.
