Back window shattered which seems to be a common issue looking at reports from others
Back window shattered
Nissan put faulty roof rack seals on my vehicle. This is the same issue as they had in 2021 when they issued a service bulletin. They are willing to fix the roof rack seals but not replace the headliner. This has caused an unhealthy musty smell in the cabin and a big stain on the headliner and A-Pillars. Nissan corporate will not cover the cost of a new headliner and A-Pillars but can’t guarantee a stain free headliner to pre-stain condition
Driving on street when second row, passenger window literally exploded. No other cars near by, no impact of any kind…it simply exploded as if it were shot at. I actually called police and they said this did not happen. There are MANY reports on internet of similar occurrences to other people. Nissan accepts no responsibility.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, turned off the vehicle, and waited for a while. The contact was able to restart the vehicle, and the vehicle functioned as intended. However, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while the vehicle was idling, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine, and the vehicle was vibrating abnormally. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that recently, the Push to START feature failed to function as intended. The vehicle was diagnosed but was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
After shutting down the engine and letting the vehicle rest for a while, re-ignition causes a strong smell of gasoline in the cabin. This can lead to light-headedness, headaches, and nausea.
In September 2024 I too my car to Bedford Nissan in Ohio. They did an oil change and since then my car has been having issues. When reversing and switching into drive my car jerks extremely hard. I contacted them to let them know and they advised me to bring the car in to get it looked at. Due to my life situations, I was unable to do so at that time. In the beginning of October 2024 my car completely shut down. I was unable to shut it off with the push button or change gears. All of the lights on the dashboard came up. It took me almost 20 minutes for it to finally restart. I contacted Nissan immediately and they advised to bring it back to them. My 2023 brand new car already had a dead battery, faulty wires in the car, the screen goes in and out, and had an Axcel leak. The supposedly fixed these issues. A few weeks later I am having the same exact problems. I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs multiple times. I have reached out to the dealership. I do not get calls back or help to fix the issues that keep reoccurring.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the buttons located on the steering wheel failed to operate as needed. Due to the failure, the contact could not access several of the safety features such as Lane Assist, Blind Spot Assist, or Parking Assist. The contact called the manufacturer for assistance after discovering online that the part needed to repair the vehicle was on backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was referred to a dealer that had the part in stock. The contact called the dealer but was informed that the part was unavailable nationwide. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact heard an abnormal popping sound. The contact stated that the rear glass had fractured and there was glass all over the rear seat. The contact stated that there was a large hole in the rear glass. The contact stated that the failure occurred while the vehicle was parked in a Doctor's Office parking lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
engine "spun a bearing" while driving on highway, car began shaking and was very unresponsive. This is the 1.5l, turbo 3 cylinder engine that appears to have had reported issues before. Would like to have documented in case of future recall or class action lawsuit.
The rear windshield of my Nissan Rogue exploded out. The car was off and parked. While I was drive, prior to incident, I had the defroster on. After I heard the loud “pop” sound, I walked over to car and heard the glass sizzling! There was a huge hole and some small holes, as well as cracks along the edge of the entire rear windshield.
I purchased the car used 3 weeks ago, still under full Nissan Warranty. 10 days ago, while driving, unexpectedly, engine started knocking loudly and then shut down. My granddaughter was driving, and was unable to restart. The Nissan dealer had performed a "health check" of the car a week prior and noted no concerns. And the dealer who sold me the car did the same, before selling it to me. Car was towed to the Nissan dealership. The engine is completely blown and there were metal chips in the oil pan. The Nissan dealership is awaiting authorization from Nissan to replace the engine and any other system impacted. It's going to take weeks to repair.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at a moderate rate of speed, the vehicle shut off with several unknown warning lights illuminated. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer, and the contact was informed that a software update needed to be performed on the vehicle. Several months later, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the contact was unable to shift the vehicle into park(P). The contact was able to drive the vehicle back to the dealer; however, the dealer failed to duplicate the failure. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.
Major engine problems. The engine has loud knocking noise. While driving the car it shakes badly. When the hood is open you can see the engine jumping and it’s not properly secured. The engine can fall out causing a safety hazard and accident. Vehicle is not safe to drive. When driving the car loses speed immediately going over 55 mph.
At 8:00 PM, driving 70 MPH on [XXX] from Dallas to Houston, Texas, multiple warning lights and messages illuminated on the dash. Other than a low fuel warning, there were no other warnings or messages at the time of the incident. The warnings and messages displayed were "AWD Error", AEB system OFF, RAB system OFF, slip indicator or VDC OFF, master warning light, and "Engine Malfunction Power reduced Service now." When this occurred, the vehicle began decelerating, and I was unable to accelerate and return to highway speeds. I was driving in the left lane and had to make my way to the shoulder on the right of the highway. Fortunately, I came to a stop approximately two miles from the [XXX] exit for Centerville, Texas. It would have been extremely dangerous to remain on the shoulder, especially after sunset, so after reading the owner's manual, I decided to travel the shoulder at the very reduced speed my vehicle allowed. After exiting to a safe location and refueling, I called 24/7 Nissan roadside assistance at 8:50 PM. I was told a tow truck would arrive around 10:20 PM, and I would receive text messages with status updates. I called three more times, at 9:32, 11:28, and 11:54 PM. I never received a text message because no towing providers were ever located and dispatched to my location. On the final call at 11:54, I was told they would try again at 8:00 AM. Centerville, Texas is a small town with a population under 1,000 people. I was left stranded nearly 150 miles from home in a non-major metropolitan city without ample resources such as uber to take me to the nearest hotel. Furthermore, had I not called back, no one from Nissan was going to inform me that I would not receive a tow. The vehicle a Nissan Rogue SV 2023, with a turbo engine constantly decelerated a number of times. sometimes it gave a warning and other times it does not. The first time it happened I started the engine, and the car crawled like a turtle. Even while pressing the gas pedal, it did not go any faster. I stopped the car very perturbed of what to do. I turned the engine on and tried again, and it accelerated as it normally does. This occurred multiple times on different occasions. Vehicle was taken to the dealership on multiple occasions with no solution being offered. I got really frustrated at the dealership because you are the makers of this vehicle which is decelerating for no reason and continues to do so and you claim the reports you run are showing nothing to resolve the issue. I should not be scared of driving my vehicle which is still under warranty, or when an accident occurs and God forbid a life is lost. The uncertainty of this happening again is not known. I wrote to Nissan Consumer Affairs at their headquarters and was told that they could do nothing about it under the Lemon law. The vehicle would have to be repaired about 4 times before they would do anything. This is ridiculous. It is their manufactured vehicle. Now I am seeing that the vehicle 2023 Nissan Rogue with the turbo engines are being recalled for engine failure. I was told that I will have to wait until I get a letter from Nissan with my VIN number before they will look at it. Please help me get this resolved. Thank You.
My forward collision sensor/alert disables after driving 2-3 miles. This problem began at 5500 miles and reoccurs every time driven. I visited the dealership who explained this is a known issue and there is no fix yet available. Nissan will likely issue a recall once the issue is fixed. The technician explained the issue could be a sensor issue or a software issue with this model.
I was sold a 2023 Nissan Rogue last July From *** Nissan of Topsham ME. that had a faulty main seal/head gasket which allowed exhaust, coolant and freon vapors to be blown into the car effectively creating a gas chamber. 31 days after my purchase at service appointment to fix defroster I was told "all the coolant leaked out of the resevoir and we don't know where it went, you should keep an eye on it". I was never told further diagnostics were needed at that time however once I realized what was going on and decided to file a complaint with the Maine attorney general's office, I looked over paperwork from visit that day and mechanics notes stated "coolant may be leaking into engine further diagnostics are needed". Let me explain that I am a courier and drive my car all day every day staring and stopping it as I make deliveries. I drove the car around poisoning myself with fumes for 7 months. I began to feel ill in November when I started using the heater more. I was completely exhausted (literally) and didn't know why. I also was having cognitive difficulties and sleeping 10-11 hours a day. In Jan 2025 I developed white spots on my tonsils and the back of my throat felt as if it was scorched. I began having uncontrollable muscle twitching and my hair and eyelashes were falling out, I still did not realize what was wrong. At the beginning of Feb. I smelled strong fumes, I immediately brought the car to ******Nissan in Las Vegas NV. where I was at the time, I left the dealership that day having been told once again "we don't know what's wrong". I have come to learn that both dealerships knew what was wrong and were just ignoring the problem. The car had the engine replaced not once but twice, the first engine had no compression, the 2nd also had the same terrible smell. I have been poisoned and lied to. I now have multiple health issues. Car surrendered [XXX] ********** C.U. Westbrook ME. All paperwork to support claim available. PLEASE HELP! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
While driving 40-50 mph, my vehicle abruptly dropped to a speed of below 20 mph without warning, scaring me to the point of nearly driving off the side of the road, almost getting rear-ended, and catapulting me forcefully toward my windshield. Simultaneously, this warning light and exact message appeared with a very loud alarm/chime - ️ Warning Engine Malfunction Power reduced Service Engine Now The initial occurrence happened on 07/03/2024 with my vehicle having only 10,208 miles. The same issue has occurred several times since. My vehicle has been inspected by the dealership/manufacturer where they have been unable to reproduce or replicate the problem. I have reported this to Nissan Consumer Affairs as well. The current recall on my vehicle that was announced in July 2025 associated with an engine bearing recall and its safety warnings correlate very closely with what I have experienced. This vehicle is unpredictable and unsafe to drive due to being no warning of the vehicle speed possibly dropping from a 70 mph highway speed down to 20 mph in a split second without warning. This is not only a danger to me and my passengers, but to the other potential vehicles and pedestrians around my vehicle. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, there was white smoke entering inside the cabin of the vehicle from the exhaust pipes. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway and exited the vehicle safely. In addition, the vehicle would not crank or restart. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,850.

The contact leased a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact received the recall notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000(Engine and Engine Cooling); after the failure. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was initially unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was later diagnosed, and it was determined that the vent control valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The dealer confirmed that the recall repair parts were on backorder. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the malfunction indicator light illuminated. The contact spoke with the general manager at the local dealer and was informed about a buyback options. The manufacturer was called, but the automated system provided the recall details and advised that the recall parts were on backorder until December. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 19,300.
I received notice late April from Nissan about this recall. I promptly scheduled an appointment to bring my vehicle in for repair. I was told parts were back ordered and would arrive early June. I have contacted the dealership (Vision Nissan of Greece, NY) and Nissan HQ to inquire and was told parts were on back order. I asked when parts would be available and was given no time estimate. I have to drive my vehicle from New York State to Texas for a move (over 2,000 miles) starting June 25 and I have serious concerns for my and my family's safety in the vehicle due to the recall. I would appreciate any assistance possible in getting this resolved. Thank you.
I was parked safely in a parking space with no vehicles around me and the car was clean when my front collision alert went off again and the malfunction warning light came on. Distance sensor was replaced. My vehicle is less than 2 years old and I continue to have faulty sensor issues.
I am a CPST Instructor and was performing a car seat check. The choices offered for the model of child safety seat did not include the seat I'm checking. Specifically, the seat is a Graco TrioGrow SL, Model 2087507, Manufactured 07/19/2023. My issue is with the possibility of a missing part. This seat model name has SL at the end. In my experience, this indicates that the seat has a lock-off; the manufacturer refers to it as a SnugLoc. When I was examining the CSS, I noted that there was an oblong cavity in the back of the CSS and a metal bar at the top of the cavity, behind the seat pad. This would be the location of the lock-off for a forward-facing installation. My question is, is this seat missing that part and the stickers that indicate it's use? The contact stated he corresponded with Graco and found that the lock-off is not missing. The lock off was for rear facing and the lock-off has to be lifted/rotated to the forward-facing position.
2023 Nissan Rogue (VIN [XXX] ) repeatedly stalled, lost power from 60 mph to 20 mph, shook violently, illuminated warning lights, and nearly caused multiple accidents. Defects began within weeks of purchase and continued for over a year. These symptoms match NHTSA Recall 25V-437 / R25A8. Nissan denied the problem until after the recall was issued. The vehicle is unsafe and should be investigated for broader failure patterns. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
While driving severe shuddering and knocking of the engine occurred rendering vehicle undriveable. Car was towed to Nissan dealership resulting in the entire engine and turbocharger needing to be replaced. Technician reported needing excessive force to move the crankshaft, high gasoline scent from oil, and metal/bearing in oil pan.
The issue began [xxx]. I drove to Napa, stayed for about 20 minutes. When I started the vehicle again and started driving on the highway it was revving but not going above about 10 mph. Had to pull off the road. I waited a few minutes turned it off and back on and it drove normally and I got back home. It's been doing the same thing intermittently since then but more often and throughout the day or drive. When I come to a stop at a stop sign or light and start driving again it will get stuck in 1st gear and not switch out until I turn the vehicle off and on again. This has happened in traffic several times. The dealership has not been able to diagnose it or fix it since they have not been able to reproduce it. They have kept it overnight three times I believe and once had a tech take it home for this and other issues including issues with the proximity sensors that they also haven't been able to correct. No warning lights appear. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Since purchase of the car. When driving on interstate speeds and when you hit bumps the ride seems to jolt a little seem like it’s going lose control.
While I was driving out of state on [XXX], 2024, the engine light came on and stated "engine malfunction power reduced." Immediately the acceleration to the car was out. I was barely able to go 50 or 60 mph on the highway where everyone else was going 70 or 80 mph. Additionally the AWD light came on saying it was disabled as well. We were able to make it to safety, get a rental car, and then take my car to the nearest Nissan dealership in LaCrosse WI. I left my car there and waited to hear back about what was needed to repair the car. After talking to the service manager, Mike, he indicated he would talk to Nissan Corporate and let me know. Nissan Corporate advise the service team to clean the part in the car (the actuator?) and put it back in and that would fix it. This did not work because as I was driving back home to Mankato MN from LaCrosse WI, the same engine light came on while I was on the same highway going in 70 mph traffic. Again the car would barely go 50 to 60 mph, but we made it to a nearby gas station and called Nissan Roadside assistance. They towed my vehicle to the closest Nissan dealership in Rochester and it's been there since [XXX], 2024. Today's date is May 24, 2024. This dealership service shop has now replaced 3 parts (sensors?) and they were bringing my car back to me today Friday May 24, 2024. They were scheduled to arrive before 11:00am CST. At 11:42pm, I received a text from the service person I've been working with stating that: My car "had the issue again. We call Nissan and they told us to tow it back to our shop, as of right now stay in the rental but will be towed back today." I called the Rochester dealership around 2:00pm to see if they had any updates but they were still waiting for the car to get towed back and they had no other information. There were no other warning or error messages prior to this happening on [XXX], 2024. I've maintained regular maintenance on the car since purchasing the car from the dealer - Dec 2022 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Owned the car since 1/23. Within a few months car died on the interstate due to a hole in the fuel tank. Nissan repaired. Prior to that I took the car in because it always smells of gas. Especially when the car is running. You could smell inside and outside of cabin. People walking by noticed. Dealership couldn’t figure it out. Googled this myself and there are multiple complaints of the gas smell. On 5/2/24, I wasn’t able to start my car. Had it towed. Took Nissan one week to run diagnostics. On 5/9 they confirmed there was coolant in my oil and cylinders. Covered by warranty. They told me parts would be in this week but they wouldn’t be able to repair the car for another 2 to 3 weeks. Said they were down personnel.
Panoramic moonroof exploded
The vehicle had a no-start case. It wouldn't catch while turning over. It tried, it had sufficient battery and all operations were done properly like putting break pedal all the way down. Let car sit, opened the door, shut it and hit some other stuff and it started fine. Other people online seem to report similar cases where just leaving the vehicle makes it start.
Began a Dollar Rental Car rental on April 15th through April 25th. Around April 25th, I attempted to extend the rental. Error message on Dollar site said "... the location requires you to return the car to the renting location or to any corporately owned location on the agree to drop off date for technical inspection." Upon searching the vin - the car was under active recall, and the recall had not been remedied. I only found out because of the online web search on the NHTSA site. It appears the recall was issued Feb 28th, 2024, and then car was rented out prior to repairs.
Twice while driving my Rogue it has gone into a limp mode. First time car was towed to Ted Russell Nissan and they found no code for problem ,an update was installed. Second time I drove car to same dealership and again no code was found. The have now had my car for 8 days and can’t get car to duplicate problem. I have to take grandchildren to daycare and pick them up. Both times the problem occurred I had just dropped off 1 year old. My safety was impacted because of the amount of traffic in the hours of dropping off and picking them up. The only ones who have checked vehicle is the dealership. There were no warning or any indication it was going to happen. The first date was [XXX] and the second was [XXX]. Car is still in shop. Hi I have nissan rogue 2023 but have problems every time called nissan said you don’t have recalled I don’t know what I can do emergency brake not working almost lot of warning lights light lot of times car sometimes shaking
The forward collision warning sensor went out while driving. Took it to Granite Nissan in Rapid City, SD. They replaced it after a year of waiting on the part. The day after it was repaired, it went out again. They said they have no idea on how to fix the problem. This issue is very dangerous when it is icy outside. When the sensor goes out the car is very unstable. You can only drive at 25 MPH and that's pushing it. It seems like the car is trying to apply the brakes to all four wheels at once. The cruise control goes out and it is hard to maintain your speed with the pedal.
On [XXX], I bought a 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum from Car Max, East Haven, CT with 15,500 miles on it, original tires. We noticed the Dunlap GrandTrek PT20 235/55R19 101V treads were warn for only 15,500 miles. Took the car on [XXX] to Town Fair Tire, Milford, CT to measure treads and they agreed that they were too warn for 15,500 miles. Their report showed remaining tread life FL-1, FR-1, RL-1, RR-1 and suggested I had one month left. I then took it to Paul Miller Nissan, Black Rock, CT [XXX] where their report showed "May require future attention" LF 5, RF 5, LR 4, RR 4 and said I WILL need tires before winter. Contacted Good Year claim number [XXX] and had the tires inspected by Jordan of Modern Tires, Shelton, CT who contacted Good Year after inspection. On March 13, 2023 I purchased a new Crown Nissan Rogue. For the most part, the car has performed well up until this year when I have had issues with the Engine Malfunction light coming on. Specifically, I get the message:” Engine Malfunction. Power reduced, Service now”. The car then goes into a slow decline of power and the speed reduces significantly at which point I will pull over to a safe spot and turn off the engine. Typically, after waiting a few minutes, I am able to start car without the engine coming on and will proceed home. This is the third such incident of this occurring this year (January, February and now March). I brought the vehicle in for service in February and noted this dilemma. The service personnel did address the issue but could not find anything that they could attribute it to. This latest episode occurred on March 22, 2024. Again, I pulled over and turned off the ignition and called service personnel. After letting the vehicle sit a while, I again was able to start it without the Malfunction light coming on and proceeded home until I can bring it in for service today. I am at the point that I am beginning to feel uncomfortable driving the vehicle because this is the third such time that this has occurred. God forbid that I am out on the highway when this happens. Spoke with service personnel and manager on 3/23/2024
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal ticking sound at start-up and while driving. The contact stated that the failure occurred while depressing the accelerator pedal. The messages "Variable Compression Turbo", "Overheating" and another message related to the transmission were displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated while driving from a complete stop. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that a diagnostic test was needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle was sluggish and failed to exceed 45 MPH while driving, with an abnormal humming and knocking sound coming from the vehicle. The contact's son visited the contact and test-drove the vehicle. The contact was informed that the vehicle was dangerous to drive. The contact's son also heard the abnormal humming and knocking sound. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that the abnormal driving performance was due to the turbo engine and was normal. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,300.
On [XXX], on our 2023 Rogue with only 9100 miles on it suffered complete engine failure while driving the highway. The car had been operating for about 10 minutes, and we had just onboarded the freeway entrance and after about a mile at normal highway speeds, with no warning, the engine started making loud knocking sounds and there was a immediate loss of motive power. This occurred during heavy traffic and was a close call with drivers behind the car. If the car had been in the left most or middle lanes of the highway it is likely the car would have not made it off the middle of the highway and it likely could have caused a severe chain reaction accident, and it could have been life threatening as it was during rush hour with heavy rush traffic and lots of large trucks. Since we were still in the right most lane we were able to roll onto an exit ramp where the engine stopped all together because there was no more forward momentum. We were not even able to pull off the exit lane completely putting the occupants at risk. We had our 3 year old in the car and the incident was very traumatic as the risk of being rear-ended during and after the failure was significant. Attempt to restart the car resulted in the engine attempting to but failing to turn over. Road side assistance came in about 55 minutes, but we fortunately had family come and take the 3 year old to safety so no longer at risk. The car was towed to a Nissan dealership for service. The service department stated they opened the pan on the engine and large and small pieces of metal were in the pan and just fell out. They said the engine suffered a total failure. We do not feel safe in this car any longer even if they repair it. This is the exact issue being investigated, NHTSA Action Number [XXX]: - Complete loss of motive power due to engine failure. Nissan knows about it yet they have not made the effort to recall the vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The 2023 Nissan Rogue we have as a lease with 9,000 miles on it. 10 minutes after driving it and going on the highway with in 1 minutes the engine abruptly started knocking and stuttering and immediate loss of motive power. Fortunately the car was in the left most lane and an exist was able to enter the exit ramp but the vehicle started sputtering and stalled and would not restart. Restart attempts resulted in engine stuttering and it the engine shutting off. We think this is the exact symptoms as described in PE23023 with these Nissan engine failures. Reporting since this should be recalled for safty and because we had a 3 year old child in the card and we fear that this could have caused risk of death by loss of motive power on the highway and if the car was in the fast or middle lanes could have resulted very high risk situation of a car with no power stuck on the highway in rush hour. I'm thankful my family is OK but this failure was a close call that could have caused a chain of accidents on the highway with possible loss of life. There were no warning indications displayed by the before the incident occurred, it was extremely sudden. After car stalled attempts to restart showed maintenance required and what appear to have been several unclear messages. battery charge was checked by tow truck and attempts to start with assisted power from additional battery made no change, the engine could not remain running it turned over and quickly sputtered and stalled and failed. The car is now at the dealership being looked at but we wanted to report this due to the severity of the issue and how it occurred, especially after reading that Nissan is aware of this particular issue as described in PE23023. I would recommend a recall as this is not a safe vehicle. Out family will no longer use this car ever again for our safety and the safety of our young child.
Ever since I purchased my 2023 Nissan Rogue in December 2023, on long treks, the Intelligent Cruise Control will just randomly shut off while driving down the interstate going 70+ mph on a clear day with no bad weather while other cars are around. Meaning, the car will suddenly slow down without braking in traffic and say that the forward driving aids are disabled, potentially causing an accident. In March 2025 I finally decided I'd had enough of this unsafe situation and asked the dealership to fix it, and they tried but failed. I asked again recently in November, and the dealership tried but failed to resolve the issue, and it persists. I can drive the vehicle but need to avoid using all of the safety features I have paid for in my expensive vehicle or risk my life to use them.
Feb.29,2024 I had a warning light come on that said "Forward driving aids temporarily disabled front sensor blocked" when this message appears my cruise control is disabled. I contacted my dealer they had me bring it in, they said they fixed it. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs because the warning light was still coming on. They told me that it doesn't affect the performance of my vehicle & doesn't cause a safety issue. The light is still coming on.
Purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue in May 2023 with less than 10 miles on it. Shortly after purchase myself and my family noticed the smell of gas fumes in the cabin, which I initially ignored. I took the car back to the dealership in August 2023 at 4,700 miles due to the noxious fumes/smell. The car’s PCV valve was replaced for the first time. I again took the vehicle into the dealership in December 2023 at 12,900 miles due to the extremely strong smell of gas fumes coming into the cabin but also radiating throughout my entire garage. These fumes burn my eyes, throat, make me nauseous, and cause headaches. My heated garage has an open flame heater and I became worried that the potentially uncombusted gas products leaking into the air could cause an explosion or fire. The dealership replaced my PCV hose a second time, but this did not solve the issue. I returned to dealership in February 2024 at 15,000 miles for persistent gas fumes in the cabin and radiating throughout my garage. There was nothing wrong with my PCV hose and the PCV hoses were on “back order”. Nothing was done to my car other than “wash off the engine bay to try to get rid of the smell”. Nissan was unable to resolve the issue or produce any viable solutions, they returned my car to me the next day and after driving it home from work and parking it in my garage, the noxious gas/odor was still strongly present and I was told by family that my clothes smell like gasoline/oil fumes. I am afraid for my health and safety while driving this vehicle. I do not feel that Nissan has adequately addressed this issue and continues to ignore it without producing viable solutions. It appears to me that there is likely a defect in the engineering/manufacturing of this vehicle and intrinsic faults within the engine and its components. I believe that if action is not taken by Nissan or governmental regulatory bodies, consumers will experience serious health and safety consequences.
I HAVE THE SMELL OF RAW FUEL COMING ENGINE AFTER ENGINE IS SHUT OFF . THE IS VERY NOTICEABLE INSIDE CABIN AREA, AND OUTSIDE OF CAR IF IT IS IN GARAGE. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP TO MY NISSAN DEALER EACH TIME I BRING IT IN FOR SEVICE. I RECIEVE THE SAME ANSWER EACH TIME THERE NOTHING FROM NISSAN ON THIS ISSUE. THE SMELL OF GAS IS OVER BEARING AT TIMES , AND I'M AFRAID THAT IT MAY CATCH FIRE. THIS HAS BEEN A ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE I PURCHACED THE CAR NEW.
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rouge. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the rear windshield exploded. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was diagnosed by a Safelite Auto Glass technician, who observed two holes in the windshield where the defroster connections were on the windshield. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,800.
Bought a new 2023 Nissan Rogue last week with 8 miles on it. Drove the vehicle on a 12 hour trip. Filled up the gas tank and gasoline smells were terrible inside the vehicle. Went on the internet to research this and found there are many who have this problem and Nissan is doing NOTHING to fix it. To make matters worse, it appears that John Deery Motors, Cedar Falls, Iowa just committed "Consumer Fraud"..........they knew that this problem existed and they continue to sell the vehicles WITHOUT telling the consumer.
The car often emits a strong gasoline odor. When I enter my garage, and the doors are closed, I often smell a strong odor of gas coming from the car. On occasion I have turned on the fan for the heater and I get the odor of gasoline inside the cabin of the car. There have been no visible leaks that I can see but I am very concerned about breathing these fumes and about the risk of a fire. This issue has been going on for at least two months. I called the dealer and they advised they are aware of an issue but stated there are no recalls and nothing they can do at this time.
