I HAVE A 2002 NISSAN SENTRA. I WAS GOING ABOUT 25 MPH ON A HWY. RAMP,IT WAS WET OUT, AND THE RAMP CURVED. I APPLIED MY BRAKES AND THEY SEEMED TO LOCK. I HAD NO STEERING AND THEY WOULD NOT STOP BRAKING.I CRASHED HARD INTO THE CURB. I WATCHED OTHER CARS GO BY AND THEY WERE FINE. THEN ANOTHER NISSAN SENTRA CAME AND THE SAME THING. HE ALSO CRASHED INTO THE CURB . MY DAMAGE IS ABOUT $650. AND THIS MAN'S IS OVER $2000. I HAD MY TIRE ARM REPLACED AND MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE. WE SWAPPED NUMBERS AS I WITNESSED HIS ACCIDENT. I HAVE HAD MY LOCAL DEALER HERE IN WI. INSPECT MY BRAKE SYSTEM AND THEY SAY THEY ARE FINE. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. MY CONCERN IS SAFETY HERE AS THIS WAS VERY SCAREY AND WE COULD HAVE BEEN HURT VERY BAD OR WORSE. PLEASE ADVISE ME AS TO MY NEXT STEP AS I GOT NO HELP FROM MY DEALER OR NISSAN. THANK YOU.*AK
WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE ENGINE EXPERIENCED ERRATIC BEHAVIOR CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL. VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH A CEMENT DRAINAGE GUTTER. *PH CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FROM NISSAN REGARDING ENGINE RELATED FAILURE OF ECM AND CRANK POSITION SENSOR. VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ON CONSUMER'S EXPENSE AND SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS BECAUSE DEALER SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FILL THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE WARRANTY DUE TO THE NATURE OF COLLATERAL DAMAGE ON TO THE TRANSAXLE AND SURROUNDING SUSPENSION, WHICH IS A LIABILITY ISSUE NOT WARRANTY. *LA
I WAS RIDING ON THE EXPRESSWAY WHEN MY TREAD SEPARATED FROM MY TIRE. I HAD MY 2 YR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. I CRASHED AND MY CAR WAS TOTALED. MY DAUGHTER AND I ARE LUCKY TO BE ALIVE BUT WE ARE HURT. *NLM
FACTORY TIRE ON NISSAN SENTRA (DUNLOP) HAD MULTIPLE TREAD TEARS AND APPEARED TO BE COMING OFF TIRE. *NLM
THE FLOORMAT OF MY 2002 NISSAN SENTRA SER SPEC V GOT CAUGHT UNDER MY GAS PEDAL CAUSING IT TO BECOME STUCK TO THE FLOOR. I WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF THE KEY AND PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. I NOTICED THAT THE FLOOR MAT KEEPS TWISTING WHERE THIS WILL BE A RECURRING PROBLEM. THESE ARE THE FACTORY FLOOR MATS. I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL, WHICH THERE WAS, BUT THE MANUFACTURER STATES THAT MY CAR WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. I EXPLAINED THAT WHAT HAPPENED TO ME IS THE REASON FOR THE RECALL, BUT THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE MATS WITHOUT CHARGING ME. I COMPLAINED DIRECTLY TO NISSAN THROUGH THEIR WEB SITE, AND OTHER THAN A CONFIRMATION NOTICE THEY HAVE FAILED TO RESPOND TO MY COMPLAINT. I'M SURE THAT THIS CONDITION WILL CAUSE ACCIDENTS, BUT NISSAN DOES NOT SEEM TO CARE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT GETTING NEW FLOORMATS, MINE ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION, BUT ARE DANGEROUS. *NLM
WHILE BRAKING THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON SIX OCCASIONS. *JB *CB *NLM
I OWN A 2002 SENTRA SPEC V AND THIS IS MY SECOND ONE IN 10 MONTHS THAT HAS FAILED TO PERFORM AS IT SHOULD. THE CURRENT VEHICLE HAS HAD 1 NEW ENGINE, 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD, 2 WINDOW REGULATORS, 2 NEW WINDOWS, THREE NEW DOOR SPEAKERS, TWO SHIFT KNOBS, 1 TIMING BELT TENSIONER, 1 THIRD BRAKE LIGHT, AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING IT'S THIRD ENGINE. CAR CONSUMES OIL AT A RAPID RATE OF 2 QUARTS PER 1200 MILES. TRIED AN INFORMAL RESOLUTION AND NISSAN REJECTED. DEALER AGREES THE CAR SHOULD BE BOUGHT BACK. SYMPTOMS THAT I HAVE, LEAD TO POSSIBLE ENGINE FIRE AND IS BEING ADDRESSED WITH A RECALL. I WAS SENT HOME IN A VEHICLE THAT WAS UNSAFE AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO FIX THIS LAST TIME AND WERE DENYING THE CAR HAD ANY PROBLEM. I FOUGHT A LONG HARD BATTLE JUST TO GET IT FIXED. *NLM
NOW AT 20,800 MILES I THINK MY CAR MAY BE BURNING OIL.LOST 2 QUARTS IN 3000 MILES. DIP STICK ACTUALLY CAME UP DRY BUT NO OIL LIGHT. IM TAKING IT IN TOMORROW TO HAVE THE TRANNY REPLACED ALONG WITH SOME O2 SENSORS THAT WENT BAD. ALSO IM HAVING IT CHECKED BECAUSE THE TRUNK AND DRIVERS/FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LEAKS. ALSO THE E BRAKE IS FAILING AGAIN, THERE IS RATTLING COMING FROM THE DRIVERS DOOR AND A SQEAUKING NOISE WHEN I RELEASE THE CLUTCH. PLUS MY SIDE SKIRTS ARE STILL WARPED, ILL HAVE TO REMIND THEM OF THAT. JUST WANTED TO ADD THIS ONE EVEN THOUGH I HAVENT GOTTEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER YET. ALSO JUST WANT TO SAY I OFFICIALLY HATE NISSAN AND THEIR EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AND AM LOOKING INTO A LAWYER TO FILE A LEMON LAW CASE. JUST BECAUSE THE SENTRA IS THE LOW END MODEL CAR DOESNT MEAN YOU HAVE TO TREAT THE OWNERS WITH LESS RESPECT THAN THOSE WITH A 350Z OR A MURANO. IM BUYING A SUBARU AFTER I GET RID OF THIS POS !
THE TRANSMISSION (6SPD OF THE SPEC V MODEL) IS DEFECTIVE. 3RD GEAR SYNCHROS GO BAD, SHIFTING FEEL CLUNKY/KNOTCHY TO WHERE ITS HARD TO GET IN GEAR ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS COLD. TOOK IT IN THE FIRST TIME ON 3/26/02 AND THEY DECIDED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. DEALER PULLED TRANSMISSION 1. WITHOUT DISCUSSING IT WITH ME AND 2. WITHOUT HAVING THE PART IN STOCK. TOOK 2 WEEKS TO GET THE NEW TRANSMISSION IN WHICH IF WE HADNT FOUGHT WITH THEM THEY WERENT PLANNING ON GIVING US A RENTAL. NOW IM TAKING IT IN AGAIN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. GRINDING AS IT GOES INTO 3RD. THIS TIME THEY SAY THEY ARE REPLACING IT WITH A 2003 TRANSMISSION AND IT SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. SO APPARENTLY NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE DEFECT. SINCE ITS ON 2 OCCASION I WILL PUT THE LATER DATE. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS TAKEN IN 3/26/02 AND REPLACED 4/11/02 AND NOW IM TAKING IT BACK IN ON 4/30/03 TO BE FIXED AGAIN
POOR PAINT QUALITY....HOW CAN AN AUTO MAKER BE ALLOWED TO PUT SUMMER LOW PROFILE TIRES ON A CAR THAT IS SOLD IN NEW ENGLAND?? *LA
WHEN PASSING A SEMI TRUCK ON A CURVE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE ENGINE DIED AND THE STEERING HAD BECOME HARD TO TURN. THE CONSUMER WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED BY A SEMI TRUCK. *PH THE DEALER STATED THE PROBLEM WAS THE ENGINE POSITION SENSOR. ALL 2000 AND 2001 SENTRA'S HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR REPLACEMENT. *SCC *JB
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION, AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *JB
WHILE DRIVING, VEHICLE WAS IN A FRONTAL COLLISION. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT.
1) ONGOING INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH GEARS GRINDING, GEARS POPPING OUT (WHILE DRIVING NO LESS!), GEARS REFUSING TO GO INTO PROPER GEAR (ESPECIALLY A PROBLEM WITH REVERSE.) DEALER TELLS US CAR DRIVES FINE FOR THEM AND PROBLEMS CANNOT BE REPLICATED. SEVERAL OBSERVERS HAVE SEEN AND HEARD THESE PROBLEMS ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS. DEALER CONTINUES TO TELL US THAT THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. 2) CAR REFUSED TO START AND NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO DEALER, WHERE UPON WE WERE TOLD THE CAR STARTED RIGHT UP FOR US. THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT RECURRED AS OF THIS DATE. NOTE: THE EXACT MILAGE MAY NOT BE ACCURATE, BUT IS CLOSE. THE CAR ONLY HAS 13,000 MILES ON IT.
THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION, AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.*JB
WHILE ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AT 4:30PM DRIVING ABOUT 60 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR STUCK CAUSING THE 2002 NISSAN SENTRA SE-R TO ACCELERATE UNCONTROLLABLY. THE FLOOR MAT HAD COME LOOSE AND JAMMED THE ACCELERATOR. I HAD TO SHIFT TO AND KICK THE PEDAL LOOSE. VERY NEARLY CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THIS FAULT WAS THE SUBJECT OF AN EARLIER RECALL, BUT THE SOLUTION BY NISSAN DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE FLOOR MAT EASILY COMES OFF THE PUNY LITTLE PEG ON THE FLOOR. *JB
PAINT PROBLEMS... EXCESSIVE PAINT CHIPPING (FRONT BUMPER) AND SURFACE RUST AFTER 1 YEAR OF OWNING CAR! DEALER REFUSES TO REPAINT DAMAGED PANELS. THOUGH OPENLY ADMITS TO NISSAN PAINT PROBLEMS!
THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE GAS TANK CONTAINED A HOLE.*JB
ENGINE FAILED IN SE-R SPEC-V FROM NISSAN CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *JB
I HAVEN'T HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR YET AND I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACED TWICE & THE ENGINE REPLACED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OIL IN IT. WHAT KIND OF CAR HAS THESE KIND OF PROBLEMS? THE GEARS SHIFT HARD NOW TO WHERE IT ABOUT JERKS YOU AND I DRIVE AN AUTOMATIC. NOT TO MENTION THE DEALERSHIP WOULDN'T EVEN GIVE ME A RENTAL WHILE THEY HAD TO PRACTICALLY REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE. *NLM
2002 SPEC-V HEATER TEMP CONTROL CABLES BROKE. DROVE CAR TO 10000 MILES.. IN DEC WAS GIVEN A RENTALCAR..TOLD PARTS WOULD BE IN ANY DAY. BEEN WITHOUT THE PARTS FOR OVER 90 DAYS.. NO ETA ON PARTS ..NO ETA ON REPAIR..ONLY GET THE RUN AROUND FROM NISSAN

I BOUGHT A 2002 NISSAN SENTRA SE-R SPEC-V AND IN THE ONE YEAR THAT I HAD THE VEHICLE, I'VE HAD A COUPLE OF THINGS REPLACED DUE TO DEFECTIVE PARTS. FIRST, I HAD PROBLEMS STARTING THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS LATER DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. THEN THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH BEARING BECAUSE OF SOME NOISE WHILE SHIFTING. THEN THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE CAM SENSOR AS THE VEHICLE DID NOT START ONE DAY. THE VEHICLE CONSTANTLY LOSES OIL AND ONE TIME IT WAS BONE DRY AFTER 3,500 MILES. THIS SEEMS LIKE A CONSTANT PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL BASED ON PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS. ALL IN ALL, POOR MANUFACTURING OF THE ENGINE COMPONENTS. AFTER THE FLOOR MAT RECALL, THEY REPLACED THE FLOOR MATS AND SECURED IT TO THE CARPET. NOW, THE CARPET GETS CAUGHT ON THE CLUTCH PEDAL, SO I HAVE TO SHIFT THE FLOOR MATS ALL THE TIME.
CAR RUNNING HOT - SEVERAL TIMES - RAN OUT OF FLUID - REPLACED FLUID - SAME PROBLEM - DEALER REPLACED LOWER RADIATOR HOSE. PURCHASE DATE WAS OCT 2001 - DO NOT RECALL EXACT DATE. *AK
TRUNK FILLS WITH WATER EVERYTIME IT RAINS, THOUGH THERE IS NO VISIBLE LEAK. IN THE WINTER WHEN I REALIZED THIS PROBLEM, I NEEDED TO RETRIEVE MY SPARE TIRE AND IT WAS FROZEN N INCHES OF WATER, MAKING FOR A VERY DIFFICULT REMOVAL (CROW BAR). *NLM

PROBLEMS ARE NOT CONTINUAL, BUT DO SEEM TO BE INCREASING. DEALER TELLS US THERE IS NO PROBLEM, AS IT CANNOT BE REPLICATED.. VISIBLE TIRE SEPARATION ON FIREHAWK GTA 02 P195/55R16 86H M+S. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH MICHELIN ALL WEATHER HERE AT DR. TIRE, HWY 21, BEAUFORT, SC,29906. THESE TIRES WOULD NOT HAVE MADE THE TRIP TO CHARLESTON 80 MILES AWAY AT THE FIRESTONE DEALER. WE DID NOT KEEP THE TIRES. I AM ONLY OFFERING THIS INFO AS A COURTESY TO THE REST OF THE PLANET, WHO MAY HAVE THE SAME TIRES. FORTUNATELY FOR MY SON AND HIS FAMILY, HE ARRIVED FOR NEW YEAR'S WITHOUT INCIDENT. I HAVE PHOTOS OF THE FAULTY TIRE. ALL TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE TIRE WAS SPLIT ABOUT 12 INCHES AROUND WHERE THE TREAD INTERFACED WITH THE SIDEWALL AND WAS SEPARATING. I DID COMMUNICATE WITH FIRESTONE CONSUMER AFFAIRS, BUT SINCE I DIDN'T TAKE IT BACK TO A FIRESTONE DEALER, THERE WAS NOT MUCH THEY COULD DO FOR ME. MY HUSBAND FOLLOWED HIM TO THE DR. TIRE IN THE EVENT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. WE COULD NOT HAVE DRIVEN THE 80 MILES TO THE FIRESTONE DEALER. TS
I HAVE A 2002 NISSAN SENTRA GXE THAT WAS BOUGHT ON SEPTEMBER 29, 2001 AS A BRAND NEW CAR. THE GAS PEDAL HARDENS AND DOES NOT RESPOND WHEN MY FOOT PRESS ON IT AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN STATIONARY AT A STOP SIGN OR AT A RED LIGHT. A SECOND FOOT PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL GETS THE CAR GOING BUT IT CAUSES THE CAR TO JERK BACK AND THE BACK WHEELS TO SKID AS THOUGH I WAS PUTTING EXCESSIVE FORCE ON THE ACCELERATION. THIS HAS BEEN VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME ESPECIALLY IN WET WEATHER. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHEN I FIND OUT THAT THE PROBLEM DOES NOT ASSOCIATE WITH THE FACT THAT THE CAR WAS NEW AND HAS TO BE BROKEN IN. ON TWO OCCASIONS, WHEN I COMPLAINED OF THE PROBLEM, THE DEALER TECHNICIAN FOUND BUILD UP IN THE THROTTLE CHAMBER AND MANUALLY CLEANED OUT THE THROTTLE CHAMBER. HOWEVER, THE ABOVE DESCRIBED PROBLEM KEPT COMING BACK AND HAS PROVEN TO BE VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME ON THE ROAD. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THERE ARE BUILD UP IN THE THROTTLE CHAMBER, AND I WOULD LIKE FOR THE DEALER TO FIND A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.*AK

WHILE TRAVELING AT 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN. CONSUMER HIT THE OTHER DRIVERS REAR DOOR AREA. CONSUMER STATES NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. CONSUMER WAS INJURED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. TS
CONSUMER STATED THAT THE ENGINE IS FAILING CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO REPLACE THE OIL MORE THAN OFTEN. DEALER NOTIFIED. TS
THROTTLE PEDAL STICKS. WHEN GOING TO TAKE OFF FROM A STOPPED POSITION EXCESSIVE FORCE NEEDS TO BE USED. WAS TOLD TO CLEAN THROTTLE BODY AND IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. *JB
VEHICLE WAS CUT OFF WHILE AT 60 MPH. DRIVER HAD TO PANIC STOP TO AVOID ACCIDENT. ENGINE STALLED. ON RESTART, CAR VIBRATED AND STEERED POORLY. NISSAN DEALER DIAGNOSED BENT CONTROL ARM. PANIC STOP WAS IN STRAIGHT LINE ON CLEAR, DRY ROAD WITH NO SURFACE IRREGULARITIES. I BELIEVE THIS WAS A COMPONENT FAILURE OR DEFECT. OUR INSURANCE COMPANY REFUSES TO REIMBURSE ON THE BASIS THAT THIS WAS A COMPONENT FAILURE. NISSAN REFUSED TO CONSIDER THE FAILURE AS WARRANTY COVERED OR AS AN ABNORMAL FAILURE. DT
STEERING COLUMN BLASTING COLD AIR DOWN TO THE BRAKE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED VEHICLE STALLED. CONSUMER RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND REPLACED IT. THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE STALLING RECURS. *AK THE OIL PAN, REAR MAIN SEAL AND FRONT ENGINE SEAL WERE LEAKING OIL. THE VEHICLE DRIVE BELTS ALSO NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *NM
CONSUMER STATES THAT SHORTLY AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND TRYING TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE THE VEHICLE STARTED TO REV UP AND WHEN THE CONSUMER TRIED TO GO IN REVERSE THE VEHICLE WENT IN REVERSE AT A HIGH SPEED UNTIL THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. CONTACTED DEALER AND THE DEALER CANNOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. *MR
THE CAR STARTED STALLING AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY NEWBORN CHILD AND IT STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE IF THE WAY. THE CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR 3 DIFFERENT ISSUES + THEY FOUND OUT THE MAIN COMPUTER HAD A PROBLEM. IT IS ALMOST A MONTH AND THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND WILL BE FOR ANOTHER 3 WEEKS ACCORDING TO THE NISSAN PARTS REPRESENTATIVE. *LA
CAR STALLS WHEN DRIVING. I FIRST BROUGHT THIS CAR IN AT 36K MILES STATING IT WAS DIFFICULT TO START. I WAS TOLD IT WAS FINE. THE DEALER NOTED IT WAS DIFFICULT TO START AT 65K MILES. I HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR IN THE FIRST 36K MILES. THOSE APPEARED TO BE RESOLVED. AT 97K MILES IT BEGAN TO REFUSE TO START RANDOMLY. NOW IT TURNS OFF WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER STATES THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE ECM UNIT. I FEEL THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART THAT WAS INSTALLED WITH THE CAR. A CAR TURNING OFF WHILE IT IS DRIVING IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO EVERY CAR ON THE ROAD. THE DEALER REP TELLS ME THIS UNIT FREQUENTLY GOES OUT ON THESE CARS. THIS CREATES AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. *TR

WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING, THE VEHICLE STALLED INTERMITTENTLY.*AK WHILE DRIVING 35-45 MPH THE VEHICLE JERKED WHEN SHIFTING GEARS. WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHTS THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES. ONE TIME IT STALLED FOUR TIMES WITHIN ONE MILE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER RETRIEVED THE VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT ALL WINTER WITH NO PROBLEMS. WHEN THE WEATHER BECAME WARM THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL AGAIN. THE DEALER WAS STILL UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE STALLING PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER IS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. *PH *NM
SOME KIND OF FOAM SEAL/GASKET IN CENTER AIR VENT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY REINSTALLED FOAM. NOW I HAVE A PIECE COMING OUT OF THE DEFROSTER VENT. DT
MY EMERGENCY BRAKE HAS BEEN ALMOST NON-EXISTENT SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. MY DRIVEWAY IS A STEEP HILL SO ITS A MUST THAT I USE IT. ON 2 OCCASIONS WHERE SOMEONE ELSE PARKED MY CAR AND ONLY USED THE E BRAKE AND DIDNT PUT IT IN GEAR, WE FOUND MY CAR HALFWAY IN THE ROAD (STOPPED) AND THEN ACTUALLY WATCHED IT AS IT STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS ONE NIGHT. WHEN I GET IN MY CAR TO START IT BEFORE PUSHING IN THE CLUTCH I HAVE TO MAKE SURE MY FOOT IS FIRM ON THE BRAKE OR THE CAR WILL START ROLLING BACKWARDS. I HAD IT TIGHTENED AT THE DEALER AND HAVE DONE IT A FEW TIMES SINCE MYSELF AFTER BEING SHOWN HOW ONLY TO HAVE IT REVERT TO ITS NON FUNCTIONAL STATE EACH TIME.
HAD TO GO TO THE DEALER ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. FIRST TIME THE LIGHT ON THE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS STICKING. TOOK MY DEALER A 3 MONTHS! TO GET A NEW ONE IN. THEN MAYBE A FEW WEEKS LATER WHILE IM DRIVNING THE WHOLE THING JUST FEL OUT OF THE CEILING NEARLY HITTING ME IN THE HEAD. IT WAS REPLACED AGAIN, PART IN STOCK THANK GOD. THIS HAPPENED TWICE BUT IM PUTTING THE MORE RECENT DATE. THE FIRST WAS 12/14/01 WHEN I TOOK IT IN. 3 DAYS AFTER I GOT MY CAR. IT WAS FIXED 4/11/02. THEN IT FELL OUT OF THE CELIING 7/29/02
I AM A PROFESSIONAL FIRE INVESTIGATOR. THIS VEHICLE FIRE ORIGINATED WITH THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE BURN PATTERNS CLEARLY INDICATE THIS TO BE THE AREA OF ORIGIN AND THE SUPPORTING BURN PATTERNS INDICATE THE FIRE ORIGINATED IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. EVEN THOUGH THIS RECALL DOES NOT SPECIFICALLY ADDRESS A POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD, I BELIEVE THE FIRE IS RELATED TO THE RECALL PROBLEM.*AK

OEM SIDE SKIRTS DO NOT FIT RIGHT WITH CAR. SEEM WARPED. BOW OUT IN VARIOUS SPOTS ALONG THE BODY. COMPARED MY CAR TO OTHERS OF SIMILAR MODEL AND THEY ARE FLUSH WHILE MINE LOOKS AWFUL. DEALER REPLACED SKIRTS ONLY TO HAVE IT LOOK WORSE WITH THE NEW ONES. SUPPOSED TO HAVE ME MEET WITH A REP BUT I WAS SUPPOSED TO WORK AROUND HER SCHEDULE AND NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO MEET HER. NO SOLUTION EVER FOUND NOR DID IT SEEM THEY CARED TO FIND ONE. THIS TIME IT TOOK A MONTH TO GET THE PARTS IN. TOOK IN MAY 1, 2002 , PARTS REPLACED JUNE 4, 2002

DT:AFTER STARTING THE CAR ON MAY 15 2005 IT WAS PUT IN REVERSE AND THE ACCELERATOR WENT UP, RAISING THE RPMS TO 4000. THIS LASTED 3-5 SECONDS. THE CONSUMER PUT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND TURNED THE IGNITION OFF. THEN, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND T BACK ON. HE THOUGHT THAT IT WAS A ONE TIME EVENT, AND MAYBE SOMETHING THAT MADE THE RPMS TO RISE. . THEN IN JULY 2005 THE CONSUMER WAS SITTING IN THE CAR, AND THEN THE RPMS INCREASED TO 6000 WHILE IT WAS IN PARK. THE CONSUMER SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURNED IT BACK ON, AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE AGAIN. THE THIRD TIME, FIVE DAYS LATER, WHILE MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY, THE CONSUMER STOPPED TO LET THE OTHER CAR GO, AND CONSUMER'S VEHICLE TOOK OFF. THE CAR ROLLED FORWARD, THE RPMS ROSE TO ABOUT 6000, AND THE CAR SPED UP TO 3-4 MPH. THE CONSUMER PUSHED THE BRAKES IN AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO GO FORWARD. THEN T PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL, AND WAITED, AND ABOUT 3-5 SECONDS LATER THE VEHICLE STOPPED RACING. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO SAID THAT THE CAR WAS ROAD TESTED AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN CONTACTED. *AK UPDATED 11/16/05. *JB
