I WAS ROTATING MY TIRES AND NOTICED GEAR OIL ON THE INSIDE OF MY REAR WHEELS. THE GEAR OIL HAS SEEPED OUT OF A FAILED OIL SEAL AND COVERED MY BRAKE PADS AND ROTOR. THIS OIL COULD CAUSE DECREASED BRAKING ABILITY AND INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF A FAILED BRAKE RELATED ACCIDENT. *TR
REAR WHEEL AXLE SEAL NISSAN TITAN 2006 OIL ON BRAKES AFTER LEAK STARTED SEALS HAD TO BE REPLACED TO FIX ISSUE. *TR
I OWN A 4X4 LOADED 2006 TITAN LE WHICH IS MY PRIMARY FAMILY VEHICLE. AROUND 80K, ECM MODULE WENT OUT CAUSING CAR TO STALL OUT AND LOSE ALL POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC (WITH MY KIDS). LUCKY NOT TO BE NAILED BY AN ON-COMING CAR, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND MODULE WAS REPLACED DUE TO RECALL. ONE WEEK LATER WHILE VACATIONING IN THE MOUNTAINS THE BATTERY RANDOMLY FRIED, WE REPLACED IT. HOWEVER IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING, THE ANTI-THEFT ALARM WOULD RANDOMLY SOUND OFF, THE DVD PLAYER WOULDN'T WORK (HASN'T WORKED SINCE), THE SUNROOF WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND WOULDN'T OPEN AND CLOSE PROPERLY. ONCE WE RETURNED, THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG (EXCEPT THE DVD PLAYER, WHICH NO ONE COULD EXPLAIN). ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WE FOUND THAT THE FIRST CATALYTIC CONVERTER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD BLOWN..FOLLOWED NOT LONG AFTER BY CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND THE DRIVERS SIDE CATALYTIC CONVERTER BAD..DEALERSHIP WANTS $3000 JUST FOR THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS!!! I SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF REPLACEMENT! THIS CLEARLY IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND NOT A ISOLATED CASE, NISSAN MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS! I HEAR RUMORS OF A CLASS ACTION...IT IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD!! I'M HOPING THEY DO THE RIGHT THING AND JUST FIX IT, WITHOUT HAVING TO GET LAWYERS INVOLVED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, HE HEARD AN INDESCRIBABLE NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
RIGHT REAR AXLE SEAL BLEW OUT AND LEAKED DIFFERENTIAL FLUID. DIFFERENTIAL FLUID LEAKING ON REAR BRAKE ROTORS WHICH COULD CAUSE BRAKE FAILURE. ALSO, THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL WILL SLOWLY LEAK AND CAUSE THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL TO LOSE FLUID AND FAIL. AS THIS SEEMED TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN TITAN, NISSAN SHOULD ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND OFFER A PERMANENT FIX TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
REAR AXLE LEAK - 2006 NISSAN TITAN CC 4WD WITH 39000. DRIVER SIDE REAR AXLE SEAL STARTING LEAKING. CONCERN DUE TO THE PROXIMITY TO BRAKE/BRAKE CALIPER. *TR
2006 NISSAN TITAN 4X4, WHILE DRIVING ON TRIP WITH YOUNG DAUGHTER HEARD LOUD BANG FROM REAR OF TRUCK. OBSERVED ROAD FOR ANY DEBRIS I MAY HAVE HIT, FOUND NOTHING. PERFORMED QUICK INSPECTION ON SIDE OF ROAD & SAW NOTHING, CONTINUED TRIP & NOTICED BAD RIDE FROM SUSPENSION. REINSPECTED AFTER ARRIVING HOME & FOUND THAT ONE OF THE LEAF SPRING SHACKLES HAD SNAPPED IN TWO AND THREW THE LEAF SPRING INTO THE BED OF THE TRUCK CAUSING A HOLE IN THE BED. THE FAILED SHACKLE ALSO CAUSED EXCESSIVE PRESSURE TO THE SHOCK ABSORBER CAUSING IT TO FAIL ALSO. REPLACED THE SHACKLES AND SHOCKS BUT STILL HAVE A BAD RATTLE COMING FROM REAR END. AARG!!!! *TR
RIGHT REAR AXLE SEAL LEAKING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT WAS ATTEMPTING TO PARK WHEN THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BEFORE THE FAILURE, SHE NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SEEM TO ATTEMPT TO LUNGE FORWARD WHEN STOPPED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,700 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,848.
CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLDS (BOTH SIDES) ON 2006 NISSAN TITAN. NORMAL DRIVING. APPARENTLY, THIS COULD CAUSE LOSS OF POWER AND FUMES ESCAPING FROM EXHAUST COULD ENTER THE CABIN AND CAUSE HEADACHE, NAUSEA AND OTHER EFFECTS. DEALER OFFERS 80K WARRANTY. TRUCK AS 75K. DEALER WILL REPLACE UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
BOTH REAR AXLE SEALS ARE LEAKING ON MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE PASSENGER SIDE IS SO BAD THE GEAR OIL HAS SLUNG ALL OVER THE WHEEL AND THE PARKING BRAKE SHOES ARE DRIPPING WET. *TR
IPDM COMPONENT FAILED. CAUSED 2006 NISSAN TITAN TO DIE 6 TIMES IN A 2 MILE JOURNEY. LOST POWER STEERING, COULD NOT SAFELY COMPLETE A TURN, HAD TO DRIVE INTO A WOODED ROADSIDE TO AVOID HITTING AN ON-COMING CAR. ONCE AT A REPAIR STATION, THEY COULD NOT GET VEHICLE TO START AND I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. COULD HAVE COST ME MORE... IF THE ENGINE WERE OVER CRANKED IT COULD DAMAGE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP. SCARY EXPERIENCE TO HAVE WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR. *TR
NOTICED A SMALL GRINDING NOISE UNDERNEATH MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN LE. A FRIEND TELLS TO CHECK THE BEARINGS. I BRING IT THE DEALER, DEALER TELLS ME I NEED TO REPLACE THE REAR BEARINGS AND SEALS - $900.00. THEY ALSO TELL ME MY BRAKES AND EMERGENCY BRAKES SHOES ARE SHOT DUE TO BEARING FLUID LEAKING ALL OVER THEM, THEY WANTED $1600.00. REPLACED ALL THE BRAKES MYSELF, WHICH WERE TOTALLY FINE....I THEN NOTICE THE SAME GRINDING NOISE PLUS ANOTHER UNDER MY DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR. BRING IT BACK TO DEALER ASKING THEM WHY. I COME TO FIND OUT THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL IS SHOT ALONG WITH THE TRANSFER CASE. THIS TRUCK HAS HIGHWAY MILES, ONLY DRIVEN IN 4X4 FOR SNOW. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN? I THEN PROCEED TO LOOK FOR ANSWERS ON THE INTERNET AND FIND OUT THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHER TITAN OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. NISSAN HAS ACTUALLY CHANGED THE PART NUMBERS FOR THE AXLE DUE TO THE ISSUES THAT ARE RELATED. THE NEW REPAIRS WILL COST BETWEEN $3600-$4000 WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD AT THE MOMENT. I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN I HEARD A LOUD NOISE. I THOUGHT I MAY HAVE HIT, OR RUN OVER SOMETHING, BUT SAW NOTHING IN OR ALONG THE ROAD. I DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING AT FIRST, AND THEN MY WIFE NOTICED A RAISED AREA OF THE TRUCK BED ON THE DRIVER SIDE NEAR THE TAILGATE. WE LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK AND SAW THAT THE SPRING SHACKLE WAS BROKEN, AND THE END OF THE SPRING WAS LODGED UP AGAINST THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BED. I TOW A 6500LB. CAMPER WITH THIS TRUCK, BUT WAS NOT IN TOW AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. *TR
REAR AXEL SEAL LEAKS CAUSES FLUID TO GET ON BRAKES AND CAN CAUSE ABS FEATURE TO FAIL. PRESENTING A HAZAROUNDAFE SITUATION
I TOOK MY TITAN IN TO HAVE THE ROTORS TURNED AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR AXLE SEALS WERE LEAKING. ACCORDING TO WHAT I HAVE READ AND BEEN TOLD THIS IS VERY COMMON TO THE TITANS AND CAN RUIN YOUR BRAKES AS WELL. SOME PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED HAVING TO REPLACE THEM 2 OR 3 TIMES. NISSAN NOW RECOMMENDS CHANGING OUT THE ENTIRE AXLE AT YOUR EXPENSE UNLESS IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE PROBLEM IS MINE HAVE PROBABLY BEEN LEAKING SINCE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT IS NOW TOO LATE BECAUSE IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND YOU CAN'T TELL THAT THEY ARE LEAKING UNTIL IT HAS BEEN LEAKING LONG ENOUGH TO GET GEAR OIL TO A VISIBLE SPOT. I HAVEN'T HAD IT FIXED YET AS I AM WEIGHING OUT THE BEST OPTION FOR ME AS FAR AS REPLACING THE SEALS OR THE WHOLE AXLE ASSEMBLY. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS DUE TO THE POSSIBLE RAMIFICATIONS TO HE BRAKE SYSTEM. *TR
I FELT A SLIGHT GIVE IN THE GAS. THE GAS PEDAL DEPRESSED DOWN TO THE FLOOR OF MY TRUCK AND I LOST POWER. I THEN LOST ALL POWER STEERING CAPABILITIES. WHILE TRYING TO SAFELY MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO THE EMERGENCY 101SOUTH FREEWAY SHOULDER. I CRASHED INTO THE MEDIAN. COMPLETELY RIPPING OFF THE FRONT BUMPER AND WHEEL WELL COVER. THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT I HAD A FAULTY FUEL SENSOR. *TR

THE HUB SEALS ON MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN HAVE FAILED.. AND ARE LEAKING FLUID. IN MY ONLINE RESEARCH IT APPEARS TO BE A ISSUE THAT RETURNS DUE TO A AXLE VENTILATION ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN USA AND THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED A RESOLUTION OR REPLY AS THE DEALER SAYS THE ENTIRE AXLE NOW REQUIRES REPLACEMENT. TITANTALK.COM HAS SEVERAL REPORTS FROM OTHER OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE. MY TRUCK PRESENTLY HAS 70900 MILES ON IT AND WAS PURCHASED IN AUGUST OF 2008 WITH 58000. THE DRIVER USE IS UNDER 6K MILES PER YEAR SO THIS APPEARS TO BE GREATER CONCERN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE WAS DISPLAYING INACCURATE FUEL LEVELS AND CAUSED HIM TO RUN OUT OF FUEL. THE LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE ALERTING HIM TO THE LOW FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER: STORAGE: FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM) BUT WAS AWAITING THE PARTS TO ARRIVE AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,525 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 81,537.
2006 NISSAN TITAN REAR AXLE SEAL LEAKING. THE OIL CHANGE GUY SAID IT WAS LEAKING ON MY REAR BRAKES YESTERDAY.GOOGLED IT AND FOUND LOTS AND LOTS OF OTHERS SAID THEIRS WENT OUT AS EARLY AS 22,000 MILES. *TR
RIGHT REAR BRAKE FULL OF OIL FROM DEFECTIVE AXEL SEAL. OIL HAS LEAKED OUT OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE REAR AXLE AND ON TO THE DISK BRAKES CAUSING THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL TO LOCK UP WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. MY FAMILY WAS FORCED TO STOP DRIVING THE TRUCK AS IT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND WOULD COST $1200 TO REPAIR. *TR
06 NISSAN TITAN 4X4 REAR END FAILURE. THERE WAS A CLICKING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE REAR ON MY WAY HOME FROM A VACATION, A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD I STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT. WHEN I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE THERE WAS A POP AND I LOST ALL POWER TO THE REAR END. MY AXLE SOMEHOW SNAPPED ALMOST DISLODGING IT FROM THE VEHICLE AND NOW THE DEALERSHIP TELLS ME I NEED TO PAY FOR AN ENTIRE NEW REAR END. THIS TRUCK WAS NEVER ABUSED AND SAW MILD OFFROAD USAGE. I AM VERY CONCERNED AS I COULD HAVE LOST MY REAR WHEEL WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY INCIDENT OF NISSAN TITAN OWNERS THAT I HAVE HEARD. I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN TITAN KING CAB 4X4. LAST THURSDAY I HEARD A LOUD BANG IN THE BACK END OF MY TRUCK. I LOOKED AROUND AND DIDN'T REALLY NOTICE ANYTHING. FRIDAY I HEARD MORE NOISE FROM THE BACK END AND MADE AND APPOINTMENT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. SATURDAY WAS MORE NOISE, BUT GETTING MUCH WORSE. SUNDAY I WENT TO PUT SOMETHING IN THE BED OF MY TRUCK AND SAW A HOLE ON THE BACK PASSENGERS SIDE CORNER WITH A PART COMING THROUGH THE BED. I THEN GOT UNDERNEATH MY TRUCK TO FIND THAT THE LEAF SPRING HAD BROKEN IN HALF AND FIRED A PIECE OF MY SUSPENSION THROUGH THE BED OF MY TRUCK. I BROUGHT IT TO BE FIXED TODAY AND THE MECHANIC SAID THAT HE HAD SEEN A LOT OF THESE WITH A BAD WELD AND THAT I SHOULD CONTACT NISSAN BECAUSE HE HEARD THEY WERE POSSIBLY GOING TO RECALL THEM FOR LEAF SPRING. I CHECKED ONLINE AND COULDN'T FIND A RECALL FOR A BAD WELD ON A LEAF SPRING, BUT I DID FIND THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING SO THAT IS WHY I AM FILING A COMPLAINT. HOPEFULLY NISSAN DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THEM LIKE TOYOTA IS DOING BECAUSE THEY ARE TAKING CARE OF THEIR FAULTY LEAF SPRINGS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH HE APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE PEDAL BEGAN TO PULSATE VERY VIOLENTLY PRIOR TO DEPRESSING TO THE FLOOR. A BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD SO THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND SHUT IT OFF. UPON RESTARTING IT, THE BRAKE PEDAL OPERATED AS NORMAL AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER ILLUMINATING ON THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS TYPE OF FAILURE BUT ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE BRAKING SYSTEM RESETS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 64,700. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS FRACTURED ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE DEALER AGREED TO REPAIR THE FAILURE ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 06V459000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE THE RECALL COVERED THE DRIVER SIDE HARNESS BUT NOT THE PASSENGER SIDE, WHICH WAS SLOWLY DETERIORATING. THE DEALER WOULD NOT AGREE TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE HARNESS. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 59,000.

I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN TITAN WITH 69K MILES ON IT. THE REAR AXEL SEALS ARE LEAKING FLUID WHICH COULD CAUSE THE REAR END TO LOCK UP DURING COMMUTE AND CAUSE AND ACCIDENT. IT IS LEAKING ONTO THE BRAKES ALSO. *TR
FRONT DIFF DRIVER SIDE AXLE PUSHING OUT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL AND STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO EXHIBIT A LOUD NOISE WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER STROKE SENSOR FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED THE FAILURE AND DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WITH REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 79,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

ON SATURDAY AUG. 7 I NOTICED A PUDDLE OF WHAT APPEARED TO BE OIL AT THE RIGHT REAR OF MY 2006 NISSAN TITAN.THE ENTIRE WHEEL WAS COVERED IN OIL,AFTER INSPECTING, I FOUND I HAD A LEAK FROM THE SEAL ON THE AXLE. WHILE TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW AND WHY, I FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN . WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL. THIS COULD BE AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR TO ANY OWNER. NISSAN NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. *TR
06 NISSAN TITAN 4X4 SE W/ OFF ROAD PACKAGE. THE LEFT REAR AXLE SEAL FAILED AT 65,000 MILES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE LEFT SEAL AND AXEL. *TR
2006 NISSAN TITAN DIED IN PARKING LOT ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 1ST, STARTED RIGHT UP. ON MONDAY, AUGUST 2ND, DIED IN BANK DRIVE THROUGH, TOOK ABOUT 8-10 MINUTES TO GET STARTED, THEN ONLY "CHUGGED". WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF DRIVE THROUGH LINE AND TO PARKING SPOT. TURNED ENGINE OFF FOR 20 MINUTES, STARTED UP AND WENT BACK TO WORK. AT 5:00 ON THAT DAY, WOULD NOT START. TRIED FOR 30 MINUTES. HUSBAND HAD FRIEND TOW IT HOME AND THEY CHECKED THE SPARK PLUGS AND A FEW THINGS WITH NO LUCK. ON AUGUST, 4TH, HUSBAND TOWED THE TRUCK TO THE CLAY COOLEY NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THEIR TEST SHOWED IT TO BE THE IPDM SENSOR OUT. THIS PART WAS REPLACED AND TRUCK WAS FIXED. THE COST FOR THIS REPAIR WAS $306.16. I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT THAT THIS SENSOR HAS BEEN RECALLED ON TITANS PRODUCED FROM 2004 TO JUNE 2006. ACCORDING TO CLAY COOLEY NISSAN, MY TRUCK WAS PRODUCED IN APRIL 2006; ACCORDING TO NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS RECALL WAS EFFECTIVE FROM 2004 TO MARCH 2006. THIS MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS ARE NOTORIOUS FOR CRACKING ON TITANS, CAUSING EXHAUST FUMES TO ENTER THE TRUCK CAB. VERY DANGEROUS, LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS. UN CONVERTED EXHAUST IS LEAKING INTO THE ATMOSPHERE SO THIS EFFECTS THE EMISSIONS LAWS. THE MANIFOLDS ARE ONE-PIECE WITH THE CATS BY THE WAY. I HAVE OWNED MY 2006 CREW CAB SINCE DEC 2006 AND HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH STEERING WHEEL SHAKING WHILE BRAKING. TOOK TRUCK TO DEALER IN 2008 MILES 10, 850 THEY TURNED THE ROTORS AND APPLIED GREASE. TOOK TRUCK BACK TO DEALER ON JULY 9TH 2010 AND THEY AGAIN SAID ROTORS NEEDED TO BE TURNED THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 27,980 MILES. THE SERVICE MAN SAID THE ROTORS WERE NO LONGER COVERED AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY HAVE ROTORS TURNED. I WAS TOLD THE ROTORS WERE GOOD FOR 30,000 MILES. I THINK IT'S STRANGE THAT THE ROTORS NEED TO BE TURNED EVERY 10,000 TO 15,000 MILES. SERVICE MAN ACTED LIKE THIS WAS A COMMAND THING AND THAT IT WAS THE DRIVERS FAULT NOT THE COMPANY'S. I ASKED ABOUT RECALLS AT THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CONTACT ME I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THE DEALER SINCE. NISSAN NEEDS TO SEE THIS AS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AND MAKE A RECALL. *TR

WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE ALIGNED, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT UPPER LINK MOUNTING BRACKET AND PAN HARD BRACKET ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN SERVICED AND THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WAS 55000.
I PLACED MY TRUCK ON A LIFT TO INSPECT THE UNDERBODY AND CHANGE MY OIL. DURING THE PROCESS, I SAW LIQUID STREAKS DOWN THE INSIDE OF MY LEFT REAR WHEEL HUB AND ROTOR. I HAD DETERMINED THE REAR AXLE SEAL WAS THE LEAKING CULPRIT, ENABLING AXLE FLUID TO DRAIN ONTO THE WHEEL HUB AND BRAKE ASSEMBLY. ALTHOUGH BRAKE PERFORMANCE WAS NOTICEABLY DEGRADED, THE SITUATION COULD HAVE BECOME FAR WORSE. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE SEAL ASSEMBLY, BUT I AM NOT CONFIDENT THIS WILL CORRECT THE ISSUE. NUMEROUS INCIDENTS SIMILAR TO THIS NATURE HAVE BEEN REPORTED ON NISSAN TITAN AUTO CLUBS, SUCH AS WWW.TITANTALK.COM/FORUMS. THE DEALERSHIP ALREADY HAD A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (WITH A THIRD REVISION DATE OVER 3 YEARS BEING OUT IN SERVICE) - THIS TELLS ME THAT NISSAN KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AXLE, BUT WILL NOT RECALL THE VEHICLES AND FIX THEM PROPERLY. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER: STORAGE: FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM) WAS RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT HAD TO HAVE THE FUEL SENDING UNIT REPLACED AGAIN AND LATER HAD THE FUEL SENSOR REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED PROPERLY UNTIL THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CAUSED THE FAILURE, NOT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN, BUT THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

I HAVE NOW RECENTLY NOTICED WHEN I USE MY EMERGENCY BRAKE AND REAR BRAKES THEY HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THE LEAKING FLUID. I WAS WONDERING IF THIS IS AN ISSUE THEY SHOULD ADDRESS, OR IS IT JUST REGULAR MAINTENANCE. WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 2006 NISSAN TITAN, WHEN SHE WAS ARRIVING TO AN INTERSECTION AND CAME TO A STOP THE TRUCK JUST SHUT OFF WITHOUT A WARNING. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE IPDM INOP HAS NO POWER TO THE FUEL PUMP.BUT, I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND I'M NOT THE FIRST INDIVIDUAL WITH THIS PROBLEM; ON ONE INCIDENT A TRUCK, SAME MODEL DIFFERENT YEAR, SHUT OFF ON THE FREEWAY WHILE DRIVING AT A SPEED WERE THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. NISSAN RIGHT NOW HAS A RECALL WITH THEIR GAS GAUGE, BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT THE PROBLEM WITH MY TRUCK WAS NOT RELATED WITH THE COMPONENT ON RECALL. I QUESTIONED THAT FACT THAT THERE WAS NO CHECK ENGINE OR ANY TYPE OF WARNING IF THE TRUCKS COMPONENT HAS POWER AND IS ATTACHED TO THE TRUCKS COMPUTER; I COULDN'T GET AN EXPLANATION FROM THE ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER AT THE NISSAN DEALER. *TR
