I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN XTERRA 4-WHEEL DRIVE. WHILE DRIVING IT IN SNOW, ICE, WET ROADS OR SIMPLY STOPPING QUICKLY, I HEAR A HORRIBLE GRINDING NOISE FROM THE FRONT END. IT HAPPENS WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES COMING TO A STOP. IT HAS TO BE A CONDITION WHERE THE WHEELS MAY LOCK UP. ALSO, THE BRAKES LET THE VEHICLE "LOOSE" FOR SEVERAL FEET AND/OR SECONDS BEFORE THE GRINDING BEGINS. I AM USED TO THE FLUCTUATION OF THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH AN ABS SYSTEM. HOWEVER, I HAD NEVER HEARD A SOUND THAT REMINDED ME OF GRINDING ALUMINUM CANS IN A COFFEE MILL. I TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE DEPT WHEN THIS FIRST HAPPENED (DECEMBER 2005; LAST INCIDENT, APRIL 2010) AND THEY HAVE ASSURED ME THAT THIS IS HOW THE ABS IS SUPPOSED TO SOUND, FEEL AND WORK. MY HUSBAND NOTICED THE SAME FEELING/SENSATION AND ASKED WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. I TOLD HIM NISSAN SAYS THAT IS HOW THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO WORK. IT DOESN'T SOUND ACCEPTABLE THAT AN AUTOMOBILE COMPANY WOULD PRODUCE A SAFETY SYSTEM THAT SOUNDS/FEELS LIKE YOUR DIFFERENTIAL IS BEING GROUND INTO LITTLE METAL PIECES. *TR
2005 NISSAN XTERRA STARTED VIBRATING WHILE SHIFTING GEARS AND THEN WENT INTO "SAFE MODE" WHERE DRIVER HAS LITTLE CONTROL OF VEHICLE. TURNS OUT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION COOLER LINES RUN THROUGH THE RADIATOR. THE CONNECTION FAILED AND LEAKED COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING IT TO FAIL AND NEED TO BE REPLACED ($4500 FIX). THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH 2005 NISSAN TRUCKS/SUVS. *TR
I PULLED INTO A GAS STATION TO FILL UP MY TANK 2 WEEKS AGO AND AFTER FILLING UP THE TANK LEFT THE GAS STATION AND REALIZED THAT THE GAUGE DID NOT MOVE. IT WAS STILL STUCK AT 1/4 OF A TANK. I DROVE THE CAR ALL WEEK AND THE FUEL GAUGE SLOWLY WENT UP TO 1/2 OF A TANK HOWEVER I KEPT TRACK OF THE MILEAGE AND HAD TO FILL THE TANK AGAIN BY THE NEXT WEEK. THE TANK AGAIN WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND MY WIFE WHO ALSO DRIVES THE VEHICLE DOES NOT KEEP TRACK OF THE MILEAGE AS CLOSELY AS I DO AND I AM WORRIED THAT SHE WILL HAVE A PROBLEM WITH RUNNING OUT OF FUEL ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY DURING RUSH HOUR. AFTER THE 2ND WEEK OF THE FUEL GAUGE NOT WORKING PROPERLY TODAY I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON FOR THE ENTIRE 35 MILES THAT I TRAVELED TO WORK. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINTS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE AND FOUND THAT IT MAY BE THE FUEL SENDING UNIT. I SEE THAT THE 2006 XTERRA'S HAVE BEEN RECALLED HOWEVER MINE IS A 2005 AND WONDER WHY IT IS ALSO NOT BEING RECALLED? I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MY WIFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN XTERRA. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. IN ADDITION, THE FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR WOULD READ INACCURATE FUEL LEVELS. THE CONTACT PROCEEDED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL INDICATOR WOULD FLUCTUATE BETWEEN GAS LEVEL READINGS. A LOCAL INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
I OWN A 2005 NISSAN XTERRA. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. I USED A CODE READER TO READ THE PROBLEM AND IT STATED IT WAS THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILING. I CLEARED THE CODE FROM THE COMPUTER AND FILLED MY GAS TANK AND THE LEVELS SEEMED HALF WAY ACCURATE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ONCE MORE JUST RECENTLY. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND IT TO BE A FAULTY FUEL SENSOR GAUGE THAT IS AN ALL IN ONE FUEL PUMP, FILTER, AND SENSOR UNIT. FEEL FREE TO RESEARCH THIS YOURSELF. NISSAN HAS HAD FUEL PUMP AND FILTER ISSUES WITH 2005+ TRUCK/ SUV MODELS. I BELIEVE THEY RECALLED THEM IN THE EASTERN US, BUT NOT HERE IN THE WEST. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT IT IS A DEFECTIVE PART ON THE CAR. THEY CLAIM IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND IS A "WEAR AND TEAR" ITEM. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! IT IS A PART THAT SHOULD LAST OVER 125K MILES... BUT NOT. THEY NEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM THEY CREATED. IT WILL COST ME $600 DOLLARS TO FIX IT! IN THIS ECONOMY ITS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME! BASICALLY YOU CAN RUN OUT OF FUEL ANYWHERE AT ANY TIME IF THE SENSOR IS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR CAUSE YOU TO GET STRANDED IN A BAD PART OF TOWN. BOTH OF WHICH ARE LIFE THREATENING. *TR
FRONT DRIVE SHAFT BROKE NEAR UNIVERSAL JOINT CAUSING DAMAGE TO BOTTOM OF CAR. THIS HAPPENED DURING HEAVY CITY TRAFFIC ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. MY FAMILY WAS IN THE CAR, BUT NOT HURT. *TR
1. VIBRATIONS COMING FROM REAR OF CAR AT 35 MPH. VIBRATION GET WORST WHEN ACCELERATING TO 40 MPH, SHIFTS HARD,RPM'S INCREASE THEN DECREASE(JUMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE). OCCURS ALL THE TIME. FAULTY LINES BETWEEN COOLANT SYSTEM AND TRANSMISSION. COOLANT MIXED WITH TRANNY FLUID. REPLACED, RADIATOR,FLUSHED ENGINE, FLUSHED TRANNY 2 TIMES. INSTALLED EXTERNAL TRANSMISSION COOLER AND BYPASSED RADIATOR, SO THIS WONT HAPPEN AGAIN, MY HAVE TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION IN FUTURE BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGE DONE TO IT BY THE COOLANT MIXING WITH TRANNY FLUID. OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE $1463.12 PARTS AND LABOR AT A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN 4X4 VEHICLES. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. AND IF MY TRANSMISSION GOES I FEEL THAT NISSAN SHOULD REPLACE IT FREE OF CHARGE. *TR
WE HAVE A 2005 NISSAN XTERRA, ONE DAY WE FILLED IT AT A GAS STATION AND NOTICED RIGHT AFTER LEAVING THE STATION THAT THE GAUGE STILL SAID A QUARTER OF A TANK, SO WE PULLED INTO ANOTHER GAS STATION A FEW MILES DOWN TO SEE IF IT WOULD TAKE MORE GAS AND IT ONLY TOOK $0.60 WORTH, SO WHEN WE STARTED THE ENGINE AGAIN, THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT WAS ON. AS WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE GAUGE SLOWLY STARTED RISING TO THE FULL MARK. WE HAD TO FILL IT AGAIN BEFORE WE GOT BACK FROM OUR TRIP AND IT DID THE SAME THING, DIDN'T REGISTER OUR FULL TANK AND THEN SLOWLY WENT UP TO THE FULL MARK, AND THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT HAS STAYED ON THE WHOLE TIME. WE CANT TELL IF WE STILL HAVE FUEL OR NOT. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 NISSAN XTERRA. THE TRUCK STARTING HAVING A FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM, BUT I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT BECAUSE MY CAR STILL WAS RUNNING. THE PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO 4/1/10 WHERE I WOULD PUT A FULL TANK OF GAS AND THE FUEL READER WOULD SHOW THAT IS WAS STILL EMPTY. ABOUT 3 DAYS AGO ON 7/28/10 I WAS ABOUT TO GET FREEWAY, THANK GOD THAT I HAD NOT GET ON FREEWAY WAY WHEN OUT OF A SUDDEN THE TRUCK STARTING SHAKING AND THEN EVENTUALLY DIED. I WAS STUCK A TRAFFIC LIGHTS FOR ABOUT 10 MINS. I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN AND PUSHED GAS BUT STILL NO LUCK. UNTIL A 3RD TIME TRIED IT AND THEN IT STARTED. WHEN THIS HAPPENED I REALIZED I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. I TOOK IT TO MY EXPERT MECHANIC AND THE SAID IT WAS A CONTROL MODULATOR AND TOLD ME THAT IS WAS GOING TO BE $1,000.00. AT THIS POINT IN MY LIFE I AM NOT ABLE TO AFFORD THAT, BUT I NEED MY VEHICLE RUNNING. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT CAN WE DO AND IF THERE WILL BE A RECALL. I ALSO SAW THERE ARE MANY MORE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE THAT OWNS A NISSAN XTERRA 2005. *TR
*** IPDM AND DOUBLE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE IN 2005 NISSAN XTERRA *** MY 2005 NISSAN XTERRA ENGINE ONCE SHUT DOWN AS I AM DRIVING ON A BUSY STREET; I HAD TO LET THE XTERRA COAST A SHORT DISTANCE WITHOUT POWER TO PULL OVER AND STOP MY SUV TO THE SIDE OF A SAFER SECTION OF THE ROAD. I COULD NOT IMMEDIATELY RESTART THE CAR. AFTER WAITING ABOUT 15 MINUTES, I WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO RESTART AND DRIVE THE SUV. THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER NEVER WENT AWAY. PERIODICALLY THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. IT FINALLY GOT TO THE POINT WHERE THE CAR WOULD NOT START AT ALL. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TWICE, INCLUDING A TOW TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN SANTA MONICA. THE INCIDENT BEGAN IN APRIL 2010. IN MAY 2010, THE NISSAN DEALER IN SANTA MONICA CHECKED THE PROBLEM AND INDICATED THAT THE IPDM HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS WAS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR. SHORTLY AFTER THE IPDM WAS REPLACED, 1 OF 2 CATALYTIC CONVERTERS IN THE XTERRA FAILED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. 6 MONTHS LATER (DECEMBER 2010), THE OTHER CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILED. I BELIEVE THE IPDM ISSUE IS SEVERE. I BELIEVE THE IPDM ISSUE IS ALSO ASSOCIATED WITH (AND LIKELY TO BE THE CAUSE OF) THE FAILURE OF CATALYTIC CONVERTERS IN THE VEHICLE. IN MY CASE, IT IS DOUBLE FAILURE SINCE BOTH CATALYTIC CONVERTERS FAILED 6 MONTHS APART FROM EACH OTHER. FAILURE OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERN. *TR
TRANSMISSION FAILURE WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC ALMOST CAUSING A CRASH.VEHICLE WAS RUNNING FINE THEN SUDDENLY WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. VEHICLE HAS NO INDICATIONS OF PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS CONTAMINATED WITH ENGINE COOLANT ACCORDING TO THE SHOP THAT REPAIRED IT. *JS
2005 NISSAN XTERRA STALLED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO JERK WHILE IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE HAD STRUCK A STEEL BEAM CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. THE FUEL GAUGE WAS MISREADING, SHOWING MY TRUCK HAD GAS WHILE IN REALITY IT WAS EMPTY. *TR
FUEL SENDING UNIT PROBLEM. FUEL GAUGE READS EMPTY NO MATTER WHAT FUEL LEVEL ACTUALLY IS. THIS TURNS ON SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT AND LOW FUEL LEVEL LIGHT. CODE READ RELATES TO LOW FUEL. PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AT THIS TIME. FROM READING POSTS ONLINE THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON AMONG MANY NISSAN VEHICLES THOUGH THE DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR IF VEHICLE IS PAST 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. *TR
DURING INSPECTION WAS TOLD THAT FRONT HUB BEARING FAILED. NISSAN UNABLE TO GET PART DUE TO HIGH VOLUME OF REPLACEMENTS MAKING ME THINK THAT THIS IS A COMMON DEFECT. IN FACT MY TRUCK IS OFF ROAD UNTIL NEW PART IS MANUFACTURED. VEHICLE IS 2005 NISSAN XTERRA FWD. *TR
ERRATIC FUNCTION OF DASH FUEL LEVEL GAUGE, GAUGE MAY GO FROM ONE HALF TANK TO "BELOW EMPTY" AND WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WITHOUT WARNING. CHECK ENGINE DASH WARNING LIGHT ALSO COMES ON AND STAYS ON, IF CODES ARE CHECKED, ONLY CODE STORED IS "FUEL SENDING UNIT-LOW VOLTAGE". MINUTES LATER GAUGE MAY RETURN TO WHAT APPEARS TO BE NORMAL FUNCTION, BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. GAUGE CANNOT BE TRUST TO DISPLAY FUEL LEVEL ACCURATELY AND MAY RESULT IN A TRAFFIC CRASH IF VEHICLE LOOSES POWER WHILE IN OPERATION. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED BY NUMEROUS 2005 NISSAN XTERRA OWNERS BUT NISSAN CHOOSES TO IGNORE THE SAFETY ISSUE AND REFUSES TO RECALL THE DEFECTIVE FUEL SENDING UNIT. *TR
THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON MY 2005 X-TERRA HAS STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. IT SHOWS THAT I'M EMPTY RIGHT AFTER I FILL IT UP AND DECIDES TO WORK AFTER ABOUT 50 MILES AFTER FILL UP, THEN WITH ABOUT A QUARTER TANK OF GAS LEFT, IT SAYS THAT IT'S EMPTY, PLUS THE "DISTANCE TO EMPTY" CALCULATOR STOPPED WORKING AND CONSTANTLY BLINKS - -. ALTHOUGH THIS HAS BEEN A HEAVILY RECORDED ISSUE WITH MANY NISSAN VEHICLES FOR OVER 10 YEARS THEY STILL REFUSE TO HELP ME OUT WITH RESOLVING THIS ISSUE AND CLAIMS THAT IT WILL COST ME OVER $600 TO FIX IT.
P0463 OBDII CODE APPEARED AT ABOUT 56K MILES. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THIS WAS AN ISSUE THAT WAS RECALLED ON 1ST GEN XTERRAS, AND IS NOW A PROMINENT PROBLEM WITH 2ND GEN XTERRAS. HOWEVER, NISSAN REFUSES TO RECALL. *TR
MY 2005 NISSAN XTERRA HAS A FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM WHICH CAUSES THE GAUGE TO NOT DISPLAY THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE TANK. IT CAN SHOW EMPTY AFTER A FILL UP. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE TANK. THIS COULD CAUSE ME TO RUN OUT OF GAS WILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE WHICH COULD LEAD TO A CRASH. *TR
MY 2005 NISSAN XTERRA HAS EXPERIENCED A FAILURE OF THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WHICH CAUSES THE INCORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL TO BE DISPLAYED ON THE GAS GAUGE, CAUSING THE POTENTIAL FOR RUNNING OUT OF FUEL ON THE HIGHWAY AND A SIGNIFICANT DANGER TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. NISSAN IS CURRENTLY RECALLING MODEL YEAR 2006 AND UP VEHICLES BUT HAS NOT YET INCLUDED THE 2005S. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT NISSAN INCLUDE THE 2005 MODELS AS WELL. *TR

CHECK ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON AND DEALER SAID WAS FUEL SENSOR FAILURE. COST $600 B/C I'M PAST WARRANTY THOUGH ONLY 40K ON 2005 XTERRA. THERE IS A RECALL B/C SAME PROBLEM ON OTHER YEAR MODELS OF XTERRA.. MANY COMPLAINTS RE: SAME PROBLEM ON SAME 2005 XTERRA ON INTERNET. ONE SITE DOCUMENTED 116 -SAME COMPLAINT SAME 2005 XTERRA. SAFETY ISSUE B/C DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN TRUCK AT ANY TIME. CALLED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD TO MAKE SURE TRUCK "FULL OF GAS". SAID THEY'VE HAD MANY COMPLAINTS BUT AT THIS POINT NO RECALL ON 2005 XTERRA. NO SOLUTION. ENGINE CAN QUIT IF OUT OF GAS--CRASH INEVITABLE, STRANDED IN REMOTE LOCATION OR UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING. ERROR CODE: PO463. *TR
2005 NISSAN XTERRA FUEL LEVEL GAUGE GIVES INACCURATE READINGS. THIS IS THE SAME PART NUMBER THAT WAS DETERMINED TO BE FAULTY IN THE 2006-2010 XTERRA. NISSAN SO FAR HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THERE IS A PROBLEM SINCE THEY REDESIGNED THE UNIT BUT IS ONLY RECALLING 2006+. *TR
FUEL GAUGE READS FULL, THEN WITHOUT CAUSE READS EMPTY. WITHOUT AN ACCURATE FUEL READING THIS MAY CAUSE VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF FUEL AT A DANGEROUS TIME. *TR
AFTER FILLING UP GAS FROM 1/4TH TANK FULL. THE INDICATOR STILL READS 1/4TH TANK. THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I RESEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND MANY REPORTS OF THIS AND PEOPLE ASKING WHY IT HASN'T BEEN RECALLED. IT IS APPARENTLY A FAULTY FUEL SENDING UNIT THAT CORRODES AFTER 30,000 MILES AND IS NOT COVERED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN XTERRA. WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 45 MILES PER HOUR, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE FUEL INDICATOR HAD MALFUNCTIONED BY READING INACCURATE FUEL LEVELS. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER BUT THEY WOULD PROVIDE NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
RE A 2005 NISSAN XTERRA FUEL SENDING UNIT DEFECTIVE AT 34,000 MILES.
LIKE MANY OTHER XTERRA OF THIS YEAR, THE RADIATOR WAS FAULTY AND LEAKED ANTIFREEZE INTO THE TRANSMISSION. CONSEQUENTLY I HAD TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR, HAVE IT SERVICED FOR 1177.00 DOLLARS AND THEN WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT A SAFETY RECALL EVEN WITH A HIGH FAILURE RATE FOR THIS MODEL. THINKING THE RADIATOR WAS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE VEHICLE DRIVING PROBLEMS I WAS ASSURED NOTHING ELSE WAS WRONG WITH THE XTERRA. I CONTINUED TO RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM AS I HAD CONTINUED TROUBLE WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND BEING TOWED SEVERAL TIMES. I WAS TOLD THAT THE RADIATOR LEAKED ANTIFREEZE INTO THE TRANSMISSION RENDERING IT INOPERATIVE AND NEEDING A FULL REPLACEMENT. I THEN PAID 3550.00 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. AGAIN, I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN THAT THIS WAS NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY AND THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR. AFTER MORE RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THERE WAS THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINT OF THE SAME ISSUE AND NISSAN TELLING THEIR CUSTOMERS THAT IT WAS OUT OF THERE HANDS AND NOT IN HIGH ENOUGH INCIDENCE FOR A RECALL. I HAD 1/4 OF A TANK OF GAS AND WENT TO FILL UP. AFTER FILLING UP MY GAS TANK, I TURNED ON THE CAR, AT WHICH POINT THE NEEDLE DID NOT REGISTER THE FULL TANK. IT SEEMS THAT SOMETHING IN THE UNIT IS FAULTY AND WILL CORRODE OVER TIME. THERE IS A GENERAL CONSENSUS THAT EVERYONE WHO IS HAVING THE PROBLEM IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE FOR OVER 2 YRS AND WITH AROUND 39K-49K. IF THIS PROBLEM EXISTED IN PREVIOUS MODELS, AND IT WAS RECALLED, THE 2005-2007 XTERRAS, FRONTIERS, AND PATHFINDERS SHOULD GET THIS FIXED AT NO CHARGE TO THE CUSTOMER!! THEY MADE ME GO INTO NISSAN AND HAVE THEM DIAGNOSE IT. THEY CHARGED ME $120 DOLLARS AND TOLD ME THAT THE FUEL SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND IT WAS GOING TO COST $600 TO REPLACE. NISSAN JUST RECALLED ALL XTERRAS FROM 2006 TO 2008 BECAUSE OF FAULTY FUEL SENSORS. I FOUND A WEBSITE THAT HAS ONE HUNDRED OTHER OWNERS OF A 2005 XTERRA WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
