THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING, ELECTRIC MOTOR, AND MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO HAVE IT FIXED UNDER A RECALL FOR STEERING PROBLEMS 3 TIMES AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING ITS NOT THEIR PROBLEM> GENERAL MOTORS IS SELLIN BAD PARTS ON VEHICLES AND THEY ARE NOT DOING ENOUGH TO FIX THEM. *TR
I HAVE OWNED MY PONTIAC G6 SINCE I GOT IT IN 2006, I HAVE HAD MANY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR RIGHT OFF THE BAT STATING WITH POWER WINDOWS FAILING TAKING IT IN MULTIPLY TIMES TO GET IT CORRECTED, SECOND THE PANORAMIC SUN ROOF WILL NOT OPEN AND IS STUCK [XXX] BUT NOT SEALED COMPLETELY CLOSED, HAD TAKEN IT TO MANY GM DEALERSHIPS OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS AND EVERYONE HAS SAY IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIX. MY FIRST THOUGHT IS HOW ON EARTH CAN A COMPANY PUT OUT A PRODUCT THAT NOBODY CAN FIX. NOW I HAVE A LEAKY SUNROOF WHEN IT RAINS, AND MY MOST RECENT PROBLEM IS MY POWER STEERING. DRIVING 65 ON THE FREEWAY AND MY POWER STEERING SHUTTING OFF. I GOT THIS FIXED IN DECEMBER OF 2013 AND IT NOW NOVEMBER OF 2014 AND I HAVE NO POWER STEERING, AND EVER DEALERSHIP AND THE GM HEADQUARTERS ARE TELLING ME THERE IS NOTHING THE CAN DO FOR ME AND I HAVE TO PAY EVERYTHING OUT OF POCKET FOR THEM NOT FIXING MY CAR PROPERLY. I AM TIRED OF HAVING ISSUES WITH THIS CAR DOES IT TAKE ME TO GET INJURED OR DIE IN AN ACCENT FOR THEM TO TAKE THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY. POWER STEERING ASSIST WAS LOST IN 2 INCIDENTS IN THIS CAR. A WARNING CHIME SOUNDED AND THE STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. GM HAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR THE SAME MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR VEHICLE, BUT WILL NOT COVER THIS VIN# EVEN THOUGH THE SYMPTOMS ARE THE SAME. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V417000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,000.

AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED ACCORDING TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING), THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL MALFUNCTIONED AND ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT EXHIBITED THE FAILURES PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER AND INSPECTED FURTHER IN ORDER TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,719.

THERE WAS ALSO A TICKING NOISE AFTER THE REPAIRS FROM THE DEALER WERE PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE SENSOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000.
VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND PUT ON LIFT. TECHNICIAN SAID, THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL(GASOLINE) COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE TECH SHOWED ME THE LOCATION OF A WET SPOT AND WE BOTH TOUCHED THE AREA AND OUR FINGERS SMELLED LIKE FUEL. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $850.27 FOR PARTS AND LABOR. MY CHOICES ARE CLEAR, GET THE THING FIXED, OR BURN IN AN EXPLOSION. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT MANY OTHER MOTORIST WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
HAIRLINE CRACK DISCOVERED IN FUEL PUMP UNIT, CAUSING FUEL LEAK ONTO EXHAUST PIPE, RESULTING IN FIRE RISK, ESPECIALLY IN ENCLOSED AREAS.
THE PONTIAC G6 2006 FUEL PUMP IS FAULTY AND THERE'S ALOT OF COMPLAINT ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PART. THE STRANGE THING ABOUT THIS ISSUE IS GM KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT FOR SOME VERY STRANGE REASON RECALL THE VEHICLES FROM 2007-2010 AND LEFT OFF THE 2006 MODEL WHICH SEEM TO SUFFER MOST FROM THIS FUEL PUMP DEFECT FROM THE PLASTIC MADE PART ON THEIR PUMP. THE DEALERSHIP AFTER CHARGING ME $134 JUST TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WHICH THEY KNEW FROM BEFORE WANTED AN ADDITIONAL $1200 TO REPLACE THEIR OWN DEFECTIVE PUMP WHICH THEY RECALLED ON THE 2007 MODEL AND MANY OTHER VEHICLE....ITS A MAJOR RIP OFF AND A [XXX] SHAME ! THIS ISSUE IS A MAJOR ISSUE, GAS IS LEAKING ON THE EXHAUST AND ITS A FIRE HAZARD. PARKED CAR WAS DOING FINE CAME TO GET IN CAR AIR BAG ON PASSENGER SIDE FRONT SEAT DIDN'T COME ON THEN IT CAME WHILE DRIVING THEN DRIVER SEAT BELT LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND TURNING OFF FOR A WHILE THEN POPS ON AGAIN WHILE DRIVING PASSENGER SEAT LIGHT AND AIR BAG STAYS ON WHEN PASSENGER LEAVES CAR AND FLASHES SAYING TO PUT ON SEAT BELT BUT NO PASSENGER IS IN CAR THIS ALL HAPPENED OUT OF NOWHERE IT DOES NOT DETECT THAT SOMEONE IS BUCKLED UP IN DRIVER SEAT AND DOESN'T DETECT WHEN SOMEONE LEAVES PASSENGER SEAT IT ALL HAPPENED AT ONCE THE STEERING RACK MAKES A POPPING NOISE AND WE TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT IT AND THE LOOSENESS THEY SAD THAT CAR HAS NO OPEN RECALLS ON THIS VIN BUT CERTAIN OTHERS OF THIS CAR DOES. *TR

SEAT BELT WOULD NOT UNBUCKLE. WITH A FAIR AMOUNT OF DIFFICULTY AND SOME ASSISTANCE, I WAS ABLE TO SLIP OUT OF SEAT BELT. THE PLASTIC ON THE BUCKLE PORTION OF THE BELT NEAR THE OPENING WHERE THE LATCH SLIDES IN HAD BROKEN INTO SEVERAL PIECES AND LODGED INSIDE THE BUCKLE PREVENTING IT FROM OPENING. AFTER PICKING THE BROKEN PIECES OUT, THE BUCKLE FINALLY RELEASED. A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS PROBLEM. *TR
TOOK MY CAR TO DEALER FOR RECALL 141152--AFTER I WAITED ALONG TIME FOR PARTS. RECALL-13036--COMPLETED THEY CLAIM RECALL--14116---CLAIMS AT FIRST--PARTS NOT AVAILABLE--OOPS THEN LATER HE CLAIMS HE FOUND SOME IN THE BACK! RECALL--14152---COMPLETED THEY CLAIM WHEN WE DROVE THE CAR OFF THE LOT IT STILL HAD SHIFT PROBLEM----LATER FOUND OUT THE TRANSMISSION PAN WAS LEAKING, TOOK CAR AND HAD FLUIDS RE-DONE AT JIFFY LUBE. AS THE DAYS WENT ON THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR--IT WAS UNDRIVEABLE IN 10 DAYS. CAR SITS IN DRIVEWAY NOW AND WON,T GO INTO ANY GEAR. CALLED PONTIAC TALKED TO SENIOR ADVISOR WHO SAID THE SAME AS THE DEALER----WELL WE ONLY FIX RECALL STUFF WE DO NOT LOOK OR CHECK OTHER THINGS. SO I RECALLED DEALER WHO SAID " WELL BRING IN THE CAR AND WE CAN CHECK IT OUT FOR $80 AND IF IT TRANSMISSION IT WILL BE $3000/4000 EXTRA. SO I DID THE RECALL ITEMS AS TOLD--AND A CAR THAT WAS RUNNING GOOD BEFORE I TOOK IT IN , NOW IS IN DRIVEWAY WITH POWER STEERING PROBLEMS AND WON'T GO INTO ANY GEAR.AS BOTH THE DEALER AND PONTIAC SAID " WELL NOW IT BECOMES THE CONSUMER PROBLEM NOT OURS-WE DID THE RECALLS". WELL I GUESS THEY FIXED THE SAFETY ISSUES---IF YOU CAN'T DRIVE YOUR CAR YOU HAVE NO CHANCE OF HAVING PROBLEMS, SO YOUR SAFE! I WILL FILE A COMPLAINT TO OTHER AGENCIES ETC. I AM DISABLED AND ON A FIXED INCOME AND THIS BEING MY ONLY CAR, CANNOT FIX THE CAR AT THAT PRICE! *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
I'VE NOTICED A STRONG GASOLINE SMELL COMING FROM THE REAR OF MY CAR. I WENT TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND THE TECHNICIAN SHOWED ME WHERE GAS IS LEAKING FROM SOMEWHERE ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE ACTUAL TANK. THE GAS IS RUNNING DOWN THE SIDE OF THE TANK CAUSING IT TO DRIP FROM THE FUEL TANK COVER. I HAVE TO GET AN ASSESSMENT TO FIND OUT WHERE THE PROBLEM ACTUALLY LIES AND HOW MUCH TIME AND MONEY IT'LL COST ME TO REPAIR IT. FROM THE LOOKS OF THE OTHER POSTS, I'M NOT THE ONLY G6 OWNER WITH THIS ISSUE. THE ISSUE IS ENDANGERING THE LIVES OF DRIVERS AND THEIR FAMILIES/PASSENGERS. I WOULD LIKE FOR GM TO ISSUE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY TO REPAIR THESE ISSUES. *TR

I CONTACTED MY LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP (CARR CADILLAC BUICK GMC NEW AND USED CAR DEALERSHIP SERVING VANCOUVER, WA AND PORTLAND OR) AS INSTRUCTED PER THE "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" LETTER I RECEIVED IN THE MAIL. THIS LETTER WAS STAMPED WITH THE SIGNATURE OF [XXX] , VICE PRESIDENT - GLOBAL VEHICLE SAFETY. I CALLED CARR CADILLAC BUICK GMC TO SCHEDULE A DATE(S) AND TIME(S) FOR THESE REPAIRS. I SPOKE WITH THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT RECALL # 14116 EPS (ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING), # 13036 BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE), AND # 14152 TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE. HE INDICATED THAT ON NOVEMBER 17 I COULD BRING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR RECALL # 14116 AND # 13036. HE STATED HE WAS UNABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR RECALL # 14152 BECAUSE THE REPLACEMENT PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH A TECHNICIAN AT CARR CADILLAC BUICK GMC NEW AND USED CAR DEALERSHIP SERVING VANCOUVER, WA AND PORTLAND OR APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS AGO AND WAS TOLD THAT THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD RECEIVED SEVERAL OF THESE REPLACEMENT PARTS PREVIOUSLY THOUGH THEY WERE ALL INSTALLED IN VEHICLES AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY REPLACEMENT PARTS SINCE THEN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES ALREADY, THE MOST RECENT WAS TODAY. THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY GIVES OUT AND I CAN NOT STEER THE CAR AT ALL LEFT OR RIGHT. THE FIRST TIME I ALMOST HIT A CAR AND PERSON PULLING OUT OF THE GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT.THE SECOND TIME I HIT A CURB TURNING INTO A PARKING SPOT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE EXPERIENCE SOME ISSUES WITH POWER STEERING ON MY VEHICLE ON AND OFF, HERE IN THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS IT HAS WORSEN. IT IS A VERY SCARY SITUATION. THE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING WHILE I AM OPERATING THE VEHICLE CAUSING THE WHEEL TO BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO OPERATE SPECIFICALLY AS I NEED TO MAKE A TURN. I USUALLY HAVE TO APPLY A GREAT DEAL OF FORCE JUST TO TURN. I FEEL LIKE MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY IS T RISK. HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH GM WHO HAS MADE CONTACT WITH A DEALER SO I CAN TAKE MY CAR IN TO BE DIAGNOSED. THEY HAVE STATED THAT MY VEHICLE HAS A COUPLE OF RECALLS BUT THE POWER STEERING ISSUE IS NOT ONE OF THEM. I HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND MANY OTHER 2006 G6 OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM ON DIFFERENT SITES. INTERESTING ENOUGH THERE IS A RECALL FOR POWER STEERING ASSIST LOST FOR PONTIAC G6 ALL OF 2005, "SOME 2006, 2008 AND 2009. DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT MY CAR IS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL CONSIDERING MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM FOR WHICH THE RECALL IS FOR. I WAS INVOLVED IN A LOW IMPACT ACCIDENT ON 9/12/2014. THE AIRBAG IN MY VEHICLE (PONTIAC G6) DEPLOYED BUT NOT IN THE VEHICLE THAT STRUCK ME. WHEN MY AIRBAG DEPLOYED IT TORE THE STEERING WHEEL COVER OPEN SIDE TO SIDE CAUSING THE METAL PONTIAC SYMBOL IN THE CENTER TO STRIKE MY LEFT WRIST. I NOW HAVE A HALF CIRCLE IMPRINT ON MY LEFT WRIST (FROM THE EMBLEM) THAT DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE GOING AWAY AND A FRACTURED SCAPHOID BONE (IN THE WRIST) AND I AM IN A CAST FOR 6 OR MORE WEEKS. HAD THE STEERING WHEEL COVER OPENED IN A LESS DANGEROUS WAY I WOULD HAVE WALKED AWAY FROM MY ACCIDENT WITH NO INJURIES. IT DOESN'T APPEAR VERY LOGICAL TO HAVE METAL PIECES MOVING WITH SUCH FORCE IN THE DIRECTION OF THE DRIVERS HANDS AT THE TIME OF A CAR ACCIDENT. I FEEL THAT COMPLETELY REMOVING THE METAL PIECE OR DESIGNING THE STEERING WHEEL IN A WAY THAT IT OPENED DIFFERENTLY, SUCH AS UP AND DOWN, COULD HAVE PREVENTED MY INJURIES AND POSSIBLY THE LIFE LONG BRANDING I MAY NOW HAVE ON MY WRIST. *TR
