ON SEVERAL OCCASION I NOTICE THAT IF YOU HAVE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL ABRUPTLY THE CAR WOULD BEGAN TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. THERE WAS A TIME WHEN I WAS DRIVER ON THE EXPRESS WAY AND A CAR PULLED IN FROM OF ME. I HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID GETTING HIT, MY CAR BEGAN TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. I THOUGHT WAS GOING TO DIE. MY SON WAS GOING TO WORK ON 6/3/2014, SOMEONE PULLED IN FRONT OF HIM HE SWERVED TO KEEP FROM GETTING HIT AND AGAIN THE CAR BEGAN TO SPIN, AND SPIN, AND SPIN OUT OF CONTROL HE HIT THE WALL SEVERAL TIME BEFORE STOPPING, CAUSING THE CAR TO BE TOTALED. I WOULD LIKE FOR THIS VEHICLE TO BE CHECK FOR DEFECT BECAUSE I DO NOT FEEL THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED MY FAULT OR MY SON WHEN THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING. *TR
I WENT TO GET MY VEHICLE INSPECTED AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY. FIRST, THEY WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. THEN, THEY WOULD NOT TURN ON. YOU CAN PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL AND SOMETIMES IT WILL TURN THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON AND THEY STAY ON, OR IT WILL TURN THEM OFF AND THEY WILL STAY OFF. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO TWO DIFFERENT AUTOMOTIVE SHOPS, INCLUDING THE ONE I PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. GM SENT ME A RECALL NOTICE FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM. HOWEVER, IT IS NOT LISTED ON THE WEBSITE. SO I CALLED GM AND THEY STATED I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE A MANUFACTURER DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AS IT WAS NOT A "LEGIT RECALL AS OF YET" AND THAT IF IT WAS FOUND TO BE PART OF THE RECALL THE COST WOULD BE REIMBURSED. I EXPLAINED TO THE GM AGENT ON THE PHONE THAT IT HAS BEEN LOOKED AT AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AGAIN. SHE STATED I NEEDED TO WAIT FOR A "LEGIT RECALL" TO BE MAILED TO ME. THE LETTER I RECEIVED FROM GM PREVIOUSLY IS THE SAME TYPE OF LETTER I HAD RECEIVED ABOUT THE OTHER TWO RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE THAT ARE LISTED ON THE WEBSITE AND THERE ARE NO PARTS FOR. THE MALFUNCTIONING OF MY BRAKE LIGHTS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND COULD CAUSE A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE MAKING A TURN, THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AND LOCKED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS MERGED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE IT WAS RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION, DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF RECALL NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 209,418.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY AND A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE EMITTED WHENEVER THE GEARS WERE SHIFT. ALSO, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE WOULD ROCK BACK AND FORTH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.

ON OR ABOUT JUNE 2ND, I WAS DRIVING MY 2006 PONTIAC G-6, WHEN A ROTWILLER DOG JUMPED IN FRONT OF ME SO I SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES, THE CAR DID NOT RESPOND PROPERLY AT ALL, I DIDN'T STOP , AND I SPUN OUT AND DID A 150 SPIN AND HIT AN EMBANKMENT. I MISSED THE DOG, BUT WRECKED MY BEAUTIFUL CAR. I HAVE NEVER WRECKED A CAR IN MY LIFETIME, I WRECKED EVERYTHING IN THE FRONT OF MY CAR. MY FRONT BUMPER PLATE, ENERGY ABSORBER, LOWER GRILL RIGHT, LOWER GRILL LEFT, EMBLEM, RIGHT INNER FENDER, RIGHT FRONT BUMPER RETAINER AND FENDER, RIGHT INNER FENDER COVER, FRONT LOWER BUMPER FILLER, FRONT LOWER AIR DAM, PLASTIC RETAINERS UPPER, PLASTIC RETAINERS UPPER AND LOWER, PLASTIC RETAINERS LOWER RADIATOR, RIGHT RADIATOR SUPPORT BRACKET, RADIATOR CAP, COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY, COOLANT, FREON, ATF. I NO THAT I'M AN EXCELLENT DRIVER, AND AFTER THAT DAY I DIDN'T HAVE A CAR FOR 3 MONTHES. I WAS DEVASTATED. THE CAR ACCIDENT LEFT SKID MARKS ON THE ROAD, SO A PERSON CAN PRETTY MUCH READ THE ENTIRE STORY OF ACCIDENT. I FEEL MY CAR DID NOT RESPOND THE WAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO. TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 45 MPH WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH BOARD, AND THERE WAS A DINGING NOISE THAT SOUNDED THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN SINCE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THEM TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THEY FURTHER STATED THAT THE CONTACTS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECENT RECALL, AND TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THERE WERE NO REPAIRS COMPLETED ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE WAS 95,460 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 95,460.
I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA, OWNER OF A 2006 PONTIAC G6, I NOTICED A FUEL SMELL FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR, AND REAR WHEEL-WELL, ALSO WOULD NOT START ON FIRST ATTEMPT, STARTS ON SECOND ATTEMPT . LOOKED ONLINE FOUND A RECALL ON 2007 PONTIAC G5 REGARDING THIS ISSUE, NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09V41900, IN HOT WEATHER STATES WITH OTHER GM VEHICLES , OBVIOUSLY THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND A RECALL SHOULD ADDRESS IT, IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND SEEN NUMEROUS POST AND A HIGH FAILURE RATE OF A PLASTIC FITTING ON THE FUEL PUMP. I WAS GOING AROUND A CURB AND NOTICE THE WHEEL TURNING WAS VERY DIFFICULT. THAN I SAW THAT MY RADIO SHOW IN RED THE STEERING WHEEL WAS A PROBLEM. IT WAS VERY HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL IN ANY DIRECTION. IT WAS STIFF AND HARD TO MOVE. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND NOTICE THAT IT WAS NOT STIFF ANY MORE AND I COULD DRIVE THE CAR AS NORMAL. VERY AFRAID THAT IT WILL LOCK UP AGAIN. PLEASE HELP. *TR

I HAVE A PONTIAC G6 2006, I WAS DRIVING AT OR AROUND 25 MPH AND THE CAR SUDDENLY SHUT OFF, WHEN I CAME TO A STOP I TRIED TO RESTART IT BUT IT WOULD NOT START. BEFORE IT SHUT OFF I HEARD SOME SORT OF SCREECHING SOUND. UPON TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED A NEW ENGINE. I BOUGHT IT PREOWNED WITH 63,000 MILES. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THE ENGINE WOULD DIE AFTER 73,000 MILES. *TR
I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AND WAITING TO TURN LEFT ONTO MY ROAD, AS I BEGAN TO TURN LEFT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND JERKED OUT OF MY HANDS BACK TO THE RIGHT. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO ONCOMING CARS AT THE TIME. I THEN CAME TO A STOP AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND THE STEERING RETURNED TO NORMAL UNTIL I TURNED INTO MY DRIVEWAY. I HAVE CONTACTED GM REPEATEDLY BY PHONE AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY POWER STEERING B/C MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY OF THEIR RECALLS. THEY HAVE NOT LOOKED AT MY CAR AND ACT LIKE THEY DO NOT BELIEVE ME WHEN I CALL. EVERY ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED, I HAVE EXPERIENCED, SO I DO NOT SEE WHY MINE IS NOT ALSO INCLUDED. MY POWER STEERING HAS BEEN GOING OUT EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. IT USED TO JUST GO OUT ON OCCASION. I DRIVE THE INTERSTATE ON A WEEKLY BASIS. I WAS TOLD IT IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. I THINK IT SHOULD BE SINCE IT GOES OUT EVERY TIME I DRIVE.
MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WAS WHEN I CAME TO A STOP LIGHT TURNING LEFT, THE STEERING WHEEL JERK PULLING RIGHT. I LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL DUE TO THE STEERING WHEEL JERKING. MY CAR ENDED UP ON THE SIDEWALK OF LOWE'S TREES. I WAS SO AFRAID BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SO HARD TO TURN. RIGHT THEN MY CAR BECAME UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I CALL THE TOW TRUCK TO TOW MY CAR HOME. RECENTLY IN MAY I STARTED HAVING PROBLEM WITH MY 2006 PONTIAC G6 V6 . ONCE THE CAR WAS DIAGNOSED FOR PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSIONS AS FAR AS THE SPEED SENOR CONTROL, I TOOK ACTIONS AS FAR AS GETTING QUOTES FOR REPAIRS. EVERY TRANSMISSION PLACED THAT I CONTACTED WAS QUOTING A PRICE NO HIGHER THAN 3,000 BECAUSE OF THE TYPE OF TRANSMISSION THAT WAS IN THE CAR. AS THE DAYS AND TIME GOES BY THERE WAS NO WAY THAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO COME WITH THIS MONEY. I CONTACTED THE LIEN HOLDER IN JUNE, STATED THAT I WANTED TO RETURN THE CAR, BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO COME UP THAT TYPE OF MONEY TO REPAIR MY CAR. AS OF 08/01/2014, I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL FROM GM STATING THAT IT WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION FOR THE SAME PROBLEM THAT IT WAS GIVING ME. I HAVE SENT A COPY OF THE LETTER TO UNITED AUTO CREDIT THINKING THAT THEY WOULD TAKE THIS IN CONSIDERATION. IF I WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT THIS PROBLEM WOULD HAVE OCCURRED I WOULD HAVE KEPT MY CAR, INSTEAD OF GOING THROUGH THE TIME AND TROUBLE BEING WITHOUT A CAR, AND PAYING ON A CAR THAT I NO LONGER HAVE. SINCE I HAD MY CAR I WAS NEVER LATE ON PAYMENTS. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR HAS CAUSED ME AN ON 9 MONTH PROBATION PERIOD WITH MY JOB, DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAD TO CALL OFF WORK OR LATE FOR WORK. SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED, I HAVE KEPT UP THE MAINTENANCE ON THE CAR. I ALSO HAVE DOCUMENTS TO FOLLOW THAT, UNTIL THE DAY IT WAS RETURNED TO THE LIEN HOLDER. BY, NOT KNOWING THIS RECALL WAS GOING TO OCCUR, THIS HAS COST ME A LOT OF MONEY THAT I HAVE TO PAY BAY TO MY LIEN HOLDER. CONSIDERING THAT I HAD RECEIVED THE LETTER AFTER THE I HAD SENT MY CAR BACK. IT'S UNFAIR TO ME, THAT I HAD TO GO THROUGH THIS SITUATION AND I HAVE TO PAY MY LIEN HOLDER 5200.00 BACK, BECAUSE OF THIS. THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER CABLE BROKEN ON THIS CAR. TO REPAIR THE CAR, IT HAD TO BE TOWED AS IT WAS NOT DRIVABLE. GM LATER ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. IT IS GM SAFETY RECALL 14152 ISSUED IN JULY 2014, BUT NOTED THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THIS RECALL NOTICE. A FOLLOW-UP NOTICE WAS ISSUED BY GM IN SEPTEMBER 2014. I COMPLETED THE CUSTOMER REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST FORM FOR THE REPAIRS COMPLETED ON MAY 5, 2014 AND SUBMITTED TO GM ON 10/15/2014. THE TOTAL BILL FOR REPAIRS WAS $451.61. GM HAS REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE TOW BILL OF $158.00. THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVABLE WITH THE SHIFTER CABLE BROKEN AND TOWING THE CAR WAS THE ONLY WAS TO GET IT REPAIRED. THE GM CUSTOMER REIMBURSEMENT FORM STATES THAT ALL "REASONABLE AND CUSTOMARY COSTS TO CORRECT THE CONDITION DESCRIBED WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR REIMBURSEMENT". I FEEL THE TOW BILL OF $158 IS REASONABLE AND WAS REQUIRED TO REPAIR THIS CAR A FULL TWO MONTHS BEFORE GM ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS DEFECTIVE CONDITION AS NOTED IN THEIR RECALL NOTICE 14152. I CAN PROVIDE ALL BILLING DOCUMENTATION I HAVE FOR THE REPAIRS IF NEEDED. GM (VIA THEIR DEALER KINDRED CHEVROLET) PAID $293.61 ON 12/18/2014 USING THEIR CLAIM NUMBER [XXX]. AS I STATED ABOVE, THEY REFUSE TO PAY THE REST OF THE BILL ( $158.00) FOR TOWING THE CAR ON MAY 5, 2014 FOR REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:09V036000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND TO BE REPAIRED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

I PURCHASED A USED 2006 PONTIAC G6 (179,000 MILES) FOR MY SON ON APRIL 26, 2014. IRONICALLY, WHEN I DROVE TO WORK THIS MORNING, MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT WITHOUT WARNING, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO WRECK!!!! WHEN I CALLED T HE CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR GM IN DETROIT, THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS STILL "FRESH" AND THAT A COMPLETE VIN LIST HAD BEE COMPLETED YET FOR THE RECALL AND MAY NOT UNTIL THE END OF THE MONTH. SHE DID HOWEVER, ISSUE ME A CASE NUMBER AND PATCHED ME THROUGH TO THE LOCAL GM PONTIAC DEALERSHIP TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. I HAVE IT IN WRITING AND VOICE MESSAGES WHERE THEY STATE THEY WILL PAY FOR A TOW AND A RENTAL, WHEN IT CAME TIME FOR THE TOW TODAY I CALLED THE NUMHER PROVIDED FOR ME, THAT I READ BACK AS I WROTE IT DOWN, AND IT WAS A FALSE NUMBER.
