I BOUGHT MY 2008 PONTIAC G6 NEW WITH 3 MILES ON IT. FOR THE FIRST 30,000 MILES I HAD ZERO ISSUES WITH THE CAR. SINCE THEN IT HAS HAD PROBLEMS. THE FIRST WAS THE STEERING COLUMN, WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT THE WHEEL BEGAN TO TURN ITSELF. STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND SO I PULLED OVER AND USED MY CELL TO RECORD THE MOVEMENT IT WAS MAKING ON ITS OWN. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED A COMPUTER MODULE IN THE STEERING COLUMN.( AFTER SHOWING THE VIDEO TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AND THREATENING TO TAKE IT TO THE LOCAL NEWS NETWORK) SOON AFTER THE POPPING BEGAN IN THE COLUMN WHILE TURNING. THE MODULE WAS UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE "LUBE KIT" FOR THE POPPING IN THE COLUMN HAD TO BE OUT OF MY WALLET TO FIX. ( OH HOW I LOVE THE ASS HATS AT GM ). STILL HAVE POPPING WHEN TURNING. THEN CAME THE RANDOMNESS TO THE HEADLIGHTS WORKING. ( OR NOT WORKING ) REPLACED BULBS IN LOW BEAM ( BOTH SIDES ) SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE NOTICED CORROSION IN CONNECTORS. NOW THE BRAKE LIGHT ARE CONSTANTLY ON. THE LIGHTS BEING ON CAUSES THE CRUISE CONTROL TO NOT WORK OR SHUT OFF WHEN LIGHTS ACTIVATE ON THEIR OWN. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED MY REAR PASSENGER CALIPER IS STICKING AND EATING PADS, IM ON CALIPER NUMBER 3 AS OF TODAY WITH COUNTLESS PADS AND ZERO HELP FROM GM WITHOUT HAVING TO FORK OVER LOTS OF MONEY TO FIX A CAR (THAT OBVIOUSLY BY THE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS) WAS HORRIBLY BUILT. ITS PRETTY PLAIN TO SEE CORNERS WERE CUT IN THE PRODUCTION OF THIS HEAP. *TR
I NOTICED WHILE SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT THAT MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO SHAKE, THEN ALSO AS I WAS DRIVING, IT JERKED BACK AND FORTH, CONSTANTLY SHAKING. THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE IF THE CAR IS IN PARK WHILE THE WHEEL SHAKES. I'VE SEEN MANY OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AND AM WONDERING WHY THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM HASN'T BEEN RECALLED. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY VEHICLE AND THIS, BEING A SINGLE MOTHER, IS GOING TO CAUSE ME TO GO BROKE FOR THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT I'M BEING QUOTED TO HAVE IT FIXED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND SEEMS TO BE MORE COMMON THAN I THOUGHT. GM SHOULD BE CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF ITS CUSTOMERS, PASSENGERS, AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROADS. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO OPERATE AND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT BEING DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR REPAIRS OR DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY HEADLIGHTS 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. NOW THEY ARE BLOWN AGAIN AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM - AND OF COURSE NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE - BAD WIRING COULD LEAD TO A FIRE.
IT'S A WHINING SOUND THAT YOU HEAR WHEN YOU ARE TURNING THE WHEEL. *TR
MY 2008 PONTIAC G6 HAS LEAKED WATER SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT; HOWEVER, I DID NOT KNOW HOW BAD IT WAS. FINALLY, THE WATER LEAKING IN RUINED AN ELECTRICAL COMPONENT - THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION (APP) SENSOR. UPON INVESTIGATION I FOUND BLACK MOLD ALL OVER ON THE INSIDE OF MY CAR (UNDER THE CARPET). FINALLY, GM DECIDED TO FIX THE LEAK, PLUS CLEAN MY CARPET. UNFORTUNATELY, WITHIN 8 MONTHS IT WAS LEAKING AGAIN AND BLACK MOLD IS ALL OVER UNDER THE CARPET. I WORKED WITH GM AND THE DEALERSHIP FOR MONTHS; THEY TOOK A VERY LAZY APPROACH TO MY SITUATION AND DID NOT SEEM TO CARE. YOU CAN ACTUALLY SMELL MOLD WHEN YOU GET IN MY CAR. DURING THIS TIMEFRAME I HAVE BECOME ILL AND HAVE HAD MANY (A LOT OF) SYMPTOMS ASSOCIATED WITH BLACK MOLD EXPOSURE. GENERAL MOTORS IS FULLY AWARE OF THE HEALTH CONCERNS, BUT THEY DON'T REALLY CARE. CLEARLY THIS IS NOT A FREAK OCCURRENCE.. ANOTHER COMPLAINT I FOUND ON THIS WEBSITE FROM SOMEONE ELSE: "THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED A LARGE ACCUMULATION OF WATER ON THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE FLOORBOARD. THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS MOLD UNDER THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE CARPET. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS REPAIRED. THE PROBLEM RECURRED TWO TIMES AND THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS REPAIRED EACH TIME. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERNS OF THE HEALTH ISSUES RELATED TO THE MOLD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A RATTLING NOISE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IDLE. IN ADDITION, THE WHEELS MOVED ERRATICALLY WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE POWER STEERING MOTOR. THE FAILURE WAS CORRECTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,417. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,427.
CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING COMPLETELY FOLLOWING 8 MONTHS OF INTERMITTENT OUTAGES. STOPPED BY STATE POLICE OFFICER AND INFORMED OF BRAKE LIGHT STAYING ON. CONFIRMED BREAK LIGHTS WERE STAYING ON WHENEVER BRAKES WERE NOT BEING APLLIED. WHEN BRAKE LIGHTS WERE APPLIED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD TURN OFF FOR APPROX. 5 SECONDS. FIXED BY APPLYING DIELECTRIC GREASE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONTACTS OF THE MAIN BODY COMPUTER. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE DOOR ACTUATORS IN BOTH DOORS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN PEDAL IS NOT PRESSED...ALL THE TIME! CLUNKING NOISE IN FRONT SUSPENSION. ON-LINE INVESTIGATION SHOWS HUNDREDS OF THESE COMPLAINTS CONCERNING THIS VEHICLE. LEAKING/DISCONNECTED TUBES IN ROOF FROM SUNROOF DRAIN TUBES. CAUSED MAJOR LEAKS, WET INTERIOR, INCLUDING UNDER BACK SEAT. AFTER REMOVAL OF CARPETS AND SEAT, MUSTY ODOR REMAINS AND STAINING OF HEADLINER. THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF THESE REPORTS ON-LINE ALSO. *TR
LOST ABILITY TO CONTROL STEERING WITH SWAYING AND SHUDDER, SLOWED VEHICLE TO GET CONTROL. *TR
I START THE CAR THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON, I THEN STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE BRAKE LIGHT TURN OFF. I HAVE VERY NARROWLY MISSED BEING REAR ENDED HALF A DOZEN TIMES IN THREE DAYS THANKFULLY NO BODY HAS BEEN HURT YET. I HAVE A THREE YEAR OLD SON THAT RIDES IN THE BACKSEAT OF MY CAR! YOU GUYS NEED TO GET ON THE BALL, THE ALREADY KNOWN RECALL OBVIOUSLY NEEDS TO EXPAND TO AT LEAST 2008. HOW MUCH LONGER DO YOU NEED? THIS IS HOW ITS GONNA WORK, I GO TO A GM DEALER, TELL THEM MY PROBLEM. THEY TELL ME "OH, ITS JUST THE ....." AND I SAY "HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT?" "THERE IS A RECALL BUT NOT FOR THIS YEAR, SO YOU'LL HAVE TO PAY" SEE THE PROBLEM HERE? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED EVEN WHEN THE BRAKES WERE NOT ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL SENSOR AND MODULE WOULD NEED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
IN 2013 THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. WE REPLACED THE LIGHT. NOTICE A COUPLE WEEKS LATER LIGHT OUT AGAIN. BROUGHT TO MECHANIC AND FOUND WIRES TO BE BURNT/MELTED. HAD TO HAVE THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSMEBLY ASSEMBLY REPLACED. HAS BEEN QUITE SOME TIME AND WE HAVE RECENTLY REPLACED THE LIGHT 2 TIMES IN THE LAST 2-3 MONTHS. WIRES ARE SOMEWHAT DARK BURNT AT THE CONNECTION AS BEFORE. I BELIEVE THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES AND IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. *JS
THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY VEHICLE LIGHT UP WHILE I AM DRIVING. THEY TURN OFF WHEN I HIT THE BRAKES. THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE CLOSE CALL INCIDENTS WHEN MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE MALFUNCTIONING. *TR
BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT SHUT OFF UNLESS I PRESS IN THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CRUISE ALSO DOES NOT WORK WHEN THIS HAPPENS. IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. I HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND THAT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE AS THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT IS WHAT IT WAS. *TR
ROUGH ENGINE IDLE, MISFIRE (DTC P0300) OR NOISE FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT. ( NHTSA ITEM NUMBER - 10024543 ). *TR
TIRE SENSOR DOES NOT MATCH THE CORRECT TIRES. ALSO, THE SENSOR SAYS THAT ONE OF THE TIRES IS AT ZERO EVEN THOUGH THERE IS AIR IN ALL MY TIRES. BECAUSE OF THIS, THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT REMAINS ON. *TR

REPLACED THE H11 BULB (DRIVERS SIDE) DUE TO IT NO LONGER WORKING. INSTALLED NEW BULB AND WITH A LITTLE WIGGLING OF THE CONNECTOR GOT IT TO WORK. THRU THE WEEK THE LIGHT WOULD WORK AND THEN NOT WORK. IF YA BANGED THE HOUSING IT WOULD COME ON. TODAY (JUNE 15, 2013) I WENT TO REPLACE THE H11 BULB AND FOUND THE CONNECTOR MELTED ON ONE SIDE. THE WIRE WAS EXPOSED AND SHORTED OUT. REPLACED THE CONNECTOR AND INSTALLED A NEW H11 BULB. SEEMS TO BE WORKING FINE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME. THE PASSENGER SIDE H11 BULB HAD THE SAME EXACT ISSUE A FEW MONTHS AGO. HIGH BEAM WIRING SEEMS TO BE INTACT WITH NO ISSUES. *TR
I REPLACED MY DRIVER AND PASSENGER LOW BEAM BULBS ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WITHIN THE PAST YEAR. WELL LOW AND BEHOLD MY PASSENGER LOW BEAM BULB BLEW OUT AGAIN! AS I DISCONNECTED THE HEADLIGHT, I NOTICED THE WIRE HARNESS HAD MELTED!!!! LUCKILY, I AM ALIVE TO TELL ABOUT IT! UPON READING ALL OF THE OTHER INDIVIDUALS' REPORTS ON THIS MATTER, IT IS ALARMING THAT THERE WAS NO RECALLS FOR THIS DAMAGE BY GM! GM NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT! I TRUSTED GM...... ONLY TO BE BETRAYED! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND MAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN, A POPPING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. IN ADDITION, THE SEAT BELT LOCKED UP AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
PASSENGER OCCUPANCY AIR BAG SENSOR FAILED AND DOES NOT READ IF ANYONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND SHOWS THAT THERE IS NOT A PASSENGER, WHICH MEANS THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR PASSENGERS. THIS SENSER FAILED WHEN THE CAR WAS 5 YEARS OLD, WE HAD ONLY OWNED IT FOR ABOUT A YEAR, HAD BOUGHT THE CAR USED. VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX $700 OR MORE FROM WHAT TH DEALER SAID. JUST STOPPED WORKING ONE DAY, SHOWING AN AIRBAG LIGHT AND THE FACT THAT THE AIRBAG IS SET TO OFF ON THE PASSENGER SEAT WITH/WITHOUT A PASSENGER IN THE CAR.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY 2008 PONTIAC G6 ARE CONSTANTLY ON EVEN WHEN I AM NOT PRESSING ON THE BRAKES. I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I STEP ON THE BRAKES AND RELEASE, THE LIGHTS WILL TURN OFF AND ABOUT THREE (3) SECONDS LATER, THEY WILL APPEAR AGAIN. MY ECM AND PCM WERE REPLACED DUE TO MY ENTIRE COMPUTER/ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUTTING DOWN BUT THIS DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE RELATED TO THE ISSUE. FURTHER, MY MECHANIC HAS REPLACED MY BRAKE SWITCH AND THAT STILL DIDN'T SOLVE THIS ISSUE. I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS IN THE WORKS RIGHT NOW FOR THIS ISSUE BUT WE CANNOT SOLVE IT. AFTER THE RECALL SERVICE, THE CONTACT WAS SITTING IN THE VEHICLE WHILE SECURED IN PARK WHEN IT ROLLED AWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ALL THE TIME AND WHEN FIRST PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THEY GO OFF AND AFTER PUSHING THE BRAKE PEDAL FURTHER THEY WILL RE-ILLUMINATE. BECAUSE OF THEM ALWAYS BEING ON THE CRUISE CONTROL ALSO WILL NOT WORK. *TR
BRAKE LIGHTS ILLUMINATE WHEN THE BRAKES ARE NOT BEING DEPRESSED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILS TO OPERATE. SLIGHT APPLICATION ON THE BRAKE PEDAL CAUSES THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO GO OFF. CRUISE CONTROL WILL WORK IF YOU DRIVE WITH YOUR FOOT LIGHTLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. DRIVERS BEHIND THE EFFECTED VEHICLE HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ACTUALLY STOPPING BECAUSE THE LIGHTS ARE ILLUMINATED A MAJORITY OF THE TIME. TO MY UNDERSTANDING, EARLIER MODELS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME PROBLEM. WHAT'S THE HOLD UP IN RECALLING LATER MODELS WITH THE SAME DYSFUNCTION???? *TR
I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED AT A STOP LIGHT. THE DRIVER BEHIND ME TOLD ME THAT MY TAIL LIGHTS WEREN'T WORKING. I INVESTIGATED FURTHER AND NOTICED THEY DID NOT ILLUMINATE UNTIL MY FOOT WAS OFF THE BRAKE. THEY DID NOT LIGHT IF MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. *TR
2008 PONTIAC G6, BRAKE LIGHTS WORK OPPOSITE OF WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO. BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT PRESSED. ONCE THE BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED, THE LIGHTS GO OUT. CRUISE CONTROL WON'T ENGAGE EVERY TIME (WORKS INTERMITTENTLY). *TR
I BEGAN TO NOTICE STRONG FUEL SMELL COMING FROM VEHICLE WHICH LEAD ME TO CHECK FOR LEAKS. I NOTICED A CRACK IN THE FUEL LINE AS STATED IN RECALL 09V-419. UNFORTUNATELY THE G6 IS NOT COVERED IN THIS RECALL EVEN THOUGH THE G5 IS. BECAUSE OF THE FUEL LEAK, GAS MILEAGE IS SUFFERING GREATLY. G6 SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED RECALL. *TR
99 PERCENT OF THE TIME WHEN I TURN THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT I HEAR A LOUD POPPING AND WINING SOUND STOPPED BY A CAR SHOP WAS TOLD THE STEERING DAMPERS WERE GOING BAD WAS TOLD IT HAPPENS A LOT ON THIS CAR I HAVE BEEN READING SO MANY THINGS ABOUT THIS THEY ARE ALL SAYING THE SAME TIME TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. *TR
SERVICE AIRBAG SENSOR IN THE SEAT. CONSTANT LIGHT ON THE DASH BECAUSE OF SENSOR AND SHOWS SERVICE AIRBAG.

HEADLIGHT AND TAIL LIGHT BULBS ARE MELTING AT ELECTRICAL CONTACTS CAUSING FREQUENT BULB FAILURE. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT, NOT ONLY WAS THERE DAMAGE TO THE BULB'S ELECTRICAL CONTACTS, BUT THE WIRING HARNESS ITSELF HAD MELTED. AFTER COMPLAINING TO THE LOCAL GM DEALER, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY NO LONGER MADE THE PART AND I WOULD HAVE TO "SPLICE" IN THE HARNESS FROM THE GMC ARCADIA. I DO NOT FIND THIS AS AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION AS THE SPLICED POINTS WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL ALSO. FURTHERMORE, WHAT NORMAL CAR OWNER CAN OR SHOULD DO THIS THEMSELVES? *TR
I WAS CHANGING MY FRONT PASSENGER DAYTIME RUNNING LAMP AND HEADLIGHT AND REALIZED THERE IS MASSIVE CORROSION IN BOTH LIGHT SOCKETS. THE REPLACEMENT BULB DID NOT INITIALLY ILLUMINATE AND IT TOOK SEVERAL MINUTES OF WORKING IT INTO THE SOCKET FOR IT TO FINALLY LIGHT. SEVERAL DAYS LATER MY DASH INFORMATION COUNSEL ILLUMINATED AND READ "AUTO LIGHTS OFF" INDICATING THAT MY RUNNING LAMPS WERE NO LONGER ON. *TR
WHILE TRYING TO PASS AN 18 WHEELER UP HILL, THE CAR DOWN SHIFTED INTO THE PASSING GEAR, AT 5000RPM ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING ON THE DASHBOARD. I ALSO LOST POWER-STEERING. A WEEK LATER WHILE TRYING TO PARALLEL PARK, I LOST POWER STEERING. NO FLASHING LIGHTS JUST NOW POWER STEERING. IT TOOK ALL I COULD TO TURN THE WHEEL. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS (USUALLY BELOW 20 MPH) THE POWER STEERING LOCKS AND I HAVE NO CONTROL OF THE STEERING. THIS HAS HAPPENED OCCASIONALLY OVER THE PAST 2-3 YEARS IF I CAN REMEMBER CORRECTLY. IT USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS A STOP (IE, STOP SIGN, RED LIGHT, DRIVE-THRU). EACH TIME IS HAS HAPPENED I'VE HAD TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, THEN RESTART THE IGNITION. IT MOST RECENTLY HAPPENED TWO DAYS AGO (7/13/15) AND HAS HAPPENED APPROX. 10 TIMES SINCE I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE (SINCE 2011). LUCKILY, IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED DURING HIGH SPEEDS SUCH AS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE BUT I FEAR THAT IF IT DOES I WOULD BE PUT IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

I WAS DRIVING AND TRYING TO SET THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE CRUISE WOULD NOT SET. I WAS ALSO BEING FOLLOWED BY MY WIFE AT THE TIME. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT OUR DESTINATION, SHE ASKED ME IF I WAS RIDING THE BRAKES. IN APRIL OF THIS YEAR I HAD MY CAR PUT IN THE SHOP FOR A WARRANTY REPLACEMENT OF MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER. WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE WARRANTY REPLACEMENT I HAD THEM TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT. EVERYTHING WAS FINE FOR A FEW WEEKS. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT WOULD COME ON WHEN THE CAR CRANKED THEM GO OUT AS I DROVE DOWN THE ROAD. THEN IT STARTED WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE. SOME TIMES THEY BOTH COME ON OR ONE MIGHT. THEN AS YOU DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD I MAY COME ON OR THE OTHER ONE GO OUT. WELL ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO I CRANKED MY CAR AND MY LIGHTS ARE ON AUTO SO WHEN THEY DIDN'T COME ON I TURNED THEM OFF THEM BACK TO AUTO AND NOTHING! I ONLY HAD HIGH BEAMS. AS I DROVE DOWN THE ROAD ONE WENT OUT AND THE OTHER CAME ON AND SO I DIMMED AND HAD ONE LOW BEAM. THEN THE OTHER CAME ON AND WORKED FOR A BIT BEFORE I GOT HOME I ONLY HAD ONE LOW BEAM. LAST NIGHT WHEN I GOT IN MY CAR ONCE AGAIN I HAD NO LOW BEAMS AT ALL ON HIGH BEAMS. HAVE BEEN PULLED OVER YET BUT IT'S A MATTER IF TIME FOR ONLY HAVING ONE LOW OR HAVING TO DRIVE INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC WITH MY LIGHTS ON HIGH. *TR

I HIT A POT HOLE WHILE DRIVING IN HARVEY IL. ONE OF MANY BECAUSE THE CITY NEVER PATCHES THEM. BUT ON THIS DAYI WAS GOING SOUTH BOUND ON VINCENNES TOWARD THE 159ST. INTERSECTION. I TRIED TO DRIVE SLOWLY THROUGH WHAT LOOKED LIKE STANDING WATER AND ENDED UP BEING A MINI SINK HOLE. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SCANNED IT ANDNOTHING CAME UP. SO HE SAID IT WASBEAST TO TAKEIT TO THE DEALER IT WAS PROBABLY A COMPUTER ISSUE. I DROVE IT THAT DAY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OUT. THEN 2 DAYS LATER I HIT A SMALL BUMP 10 MILES PER HOUR OVER SMOOTH TRACKS AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. NOW IT COMES ON ONLY IF I HAVE A QT TANK OF GAS OR LOWER AND I HIT A BUMP. OR IF IM STUCK IN TRAFFIC ON GOING UPWARD ON A HILL IT WILL DO IT.. I TOOK IT TO TOM KELLEY BUICK IN FORT WANYE. THEY FIXED A STABILIZER LINK ONE OF MANY RECALLS AND AN ALIGNMENT. I GOT IT BACK AND AS SOON AS I WANT OVER A SMALL BUMP AT 15THE LIGHT CAME ON.THE DEALER TOLD ME AFTER I GAVE HIM 400 DOLLARS ALMOST THAT HE FIXED THAT STUFF AND IT NEVER ACTED UP. SO THE DIDN'T ADDRESS MY PROBLEM. I TRY TO BY PONTIAC OR AT LEAST GM AND MY LAST 2 PONTIACS SEEM TO HAVE BEEN RUINED AND TURNED INTO MONEY PITS FOR PROBLEMS NOBODY CAN FIND. I BOUGHT MY PONTIAC G6 ALMOST 1 YR AGO, AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE I NOTICED THE CLUNK NOISE WHILE TURNING MOSTLY LEFT TURNS, THE DEALER SAID IT WAS NOTHING. SO I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT SO FAR WITH NO PROBLEMS OTHER THAN THE CLUNK NOISE BUT ONE MONTH AGO I KEPT GETTING A RADIO SIGNAL TO SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND MY CAR FELT LIKE I WAS DRIVING ON ICE AND THE WHEEL WOULD SHAKE BY ITSELF AND WAS WOULD STIFFEN UP LEFT TO RIGHT, SO I TOOK IT TO THE SAME DEALER TO FIX IT BUT THE GM DEALER SAID THEY WERE UNSURE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS BUT NOTICED THE THAT WHILE IN PARK AND LIFTED OFF THE GROUND THE WHEELS LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE BEING TURNED AND NO ONE WAS IN THE CAR. THEY PUT IN A $27 PART A STEERING SENSOR KIT AND SAID THEY RESET THE BRAIN OF THE CAR AND SINCE I HAVE NO WARRANTY I PAID $311.00 . AND NOT 24 HOURS AFTER I DROVE OFF IT IS STILL HAPPENING, JUST HOPE IT DOESN'T GET WORSE THIS CAR I DEFINITELY HAVE TO KEEP BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL. *TR

THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PONTIAC G6 POWER STEERING ASSIST. THE STEERING LOCKS UP AND GETS STIFF CAUSING IT TO BECOME IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. I ALMOST HIT A PARKED CAR BECAUSE THE STEERING IS SO STIFF THAT YOU CANNOT STEER THE CAR IN THE DIRECTION YOU WANT TO GO. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS IN ALL 2006 PONTIACS BUT NOT 2008. I AM WRITING TODAY BECAUSE THIS PROBLEM CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND GM NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ASAP BEFORE IT CAUSES A FATALITY.
