TLA* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC GA WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED AN ABNORMAL FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS EVIDENCE OF A FUEL LEAK UNDERNEATH THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS LEAK IN THE FUEL MODULE OF THE FUEL TANK, WHICH CAUSED FUEL TO LEAK ONTO THE EXHAUST PIPES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY DURING RAIN CONDITIONS THE WIPER SYSTEM STOPPED CLEANING MY WINDSHIELD, FORCING ME TO PULL OVER AND WAIT FOR THE STORM TO PASS. THE WIPER TRANSMISSION ARM OR BUSHING BROKE. THE WIPER MOTOR CONTINUED TO WORK. THE WIPER/WASHER ELECTRICAL BREAKER OR FUSE DID NOT BREAK. *TR
JUST ACQUIRED THE 2008PONTIAC G6 FOR MY SON. LEARNING THERE WERE 2 OPEN RECALLS ON IT. CALLED LOCAL GM SERVICE CENTER AND HAD THEM DONE. NOW A SEAT BELT LIGHT FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE POPS ON UPON STARTING THE CAR, DRIVING THE CAR AND ONLY GOES OFF WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. THERE'S A LIGHT FOR THE DRIVERS SIDE AIRBAG THAT STAYS ON. IT IS ON WHEN YOU START THE CAR, IT'S ON WHEN YOU DRIVE THE CAR, IN TOWN AND THE HIGHWAY, IT ONLY GOES OFF WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. A NEW BATTERY WAS ADDED TO THE CAR, AND NEW SERPENTINE BELT. I HAVE A VAPOR LOCK ISSUE TODAY. PLEASE TELL ME THIS CAR WILL PROTECT MY SON IF AN ACCIDENT HAPPENS. THE AIR BAG ISSUE WORRIES ME. NOTICED GASOLINE ODORS, HARD STARTING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK TO SHOP FOR DIAGNOSIS. MECHANIC SAID THE PLASTIC HOUSING ON THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP HAD CRACKED, CAUSING GAS TO LEAK FROM THE TANK ALSO LOW FUEL PRESSURE AND VACUUM PROBLEMS. SAID CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND NEEDED THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP REPLACED. THE TOTAL REPAIR COST IS $1000. THE G5 MODEL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND THERE HAS BEEN A FACTORY RECALL BUT NONE ON THE G6 MODEL.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO BRUCE LOWRIE CHEVROLET (711 SW LOOP 820, FORT WORTH, TX 76134, (817) 293-5811) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO COST. THE VEHICLE ALSO FAILED STATE INSPECTION BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT NOTICED A STRONG FUEL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE, WHICH AFFECTED HER BREATHING AND CAUSED HEADACHES. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT WAS UNABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE TUBE, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP AND FURTHER TESTING SHOULD BE COMPLETED BY A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE TO DETERMINE IF A DEALER COULD PROVIDE ODOR TESTING AND FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AS I START DRIVE MY DASH WITH DISPLAY POWER STEERING THEN THE STEERING WILL BECOME TIGHT THEN UNABLE TO DRIVE. I TURN IT OFF AND RESTART MY VEHICLE AND THEN IT WILL DRIVE THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE.ON A CITY STREET IN MOTION.

THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND EXITED. THE FLAMES ORIGINATED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTO ZONE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING NODE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 112,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT ON MY CAR ITS BEEN ON STEADY FOR THE LAST 9 MONTHS OR MORE. MY STEERING WHEEL AT CERTAIN TIMES ARE HARD TO STEER THE CAR. IT MAKES A POPPING NOISE WHILE I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL.
WHILE DRIVING MY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN I AM 'DRIVING' AND MY BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF WHEN I AM BRAKING. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE , AND ASKED THEM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THEY SAID IT WAS A RECALL AND THEY FIXED IT . WELL IAN STILL DRIVING AN UNSAFE CAR . AND NOW I AM BEING TOLD I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT . THIS DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT. IT WAS CLEARLY A RECALL THAT WAS NOT FIXED.

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A CERTIFIED INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE FUEL PUMP THAT WAS LEAKING FUEL AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13E043000 (EQUIPMENT, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.
WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IT MAKES A POPPING NOISE IF THE CAR IS MOVING OR JUST SITTING IT DON'T MATTER WHAT A [XXX] CAR. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
THE BRAKE SENSOR GOES OUT CAUSING THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO NOT WORK. A RECALL SAYS THAT THE BCM CAUSES FLUCTUATIONS TO THE BRAKE SENSOR ,IN TURN CAUSES THE LIGHTS NOT TO WORK. WHEN I HAD THE RECAL DONE FOR THE BCM, THE BRAKE SENSOR ALSO NEEDED WORK. THE RESULT IS 200 BUCKS WORTH OF WORK DONE THAT WASN'T RECALL COVERED. THE RECAL EVEN STATES THAT THE BRAKE SENSOR IS AFFECTED BECAUSE OF THE BCM PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THAT THE BRAKE SENSOR NEEDS TO BE COVERED IN THIS ISSUE. ALSO INCLUDE THE TRACTION CONTROL SHUTTING OFF, THAT WAS ANOTHER 200 SPENT FOR THAT. TAKE A GOOD GUESS WHAT WAS THE RESULT OF THAT ISSUE. SPOILER ALERT IT WAS THE BCM!!
WE ARE HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION. I DONE SOME RESEARCH AND THERE IS POTENTIALLY AN ISSUE WITH THE SHIFT CABLE. OF THE CAR IS NOT IN PARK WHEN SHUT OFF THEN THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT. UNFORTUNATELY THE POTENTIAL.ISSUE WITH THE SHIFT CABLE IS IT MAY LOOK.LIKE THE CAR IS IN PARK BUT MAY NOT BE. LEADING TO THE CAR POSSIBLY ROLLING AWAY AND CAUSE DAMAGE OR INJURY. I HAVE HAD MANY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR AND RECALLS FIXED .THIS NEEDS TO BE ANOTHER RECALL FOR THESE CARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE IN PARK WITH THE GEAR SHIFTER SHIFTED INTO THE PARK POSITION, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY IN REVERSE. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS LOOSE AND THAT THE SHIFT CABLE HAD DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ATTACHED A CLIP TO THE SHIFT CABLE AS A TEMPORARY REMEDY AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V224000 (POWER TRAIN) THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL MY SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT IS STAYING ON AND MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT IS STAYING OFF..EVEN WHEN I HAVE PASSENGERS IN MY CAR..
MY BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHEN I TURN MY CAR ON. WHEN I PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL MY BRAKE LIGHTS GO OUT. THEY HAVE BEEN LIKE THIS FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. I REPLACED THE SWITCH UNDER THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT DID NOTHING. THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHEN I'M DRIVING OR SITTING STILL.

THE CONTACT PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CALLED HER BROTHER FOR HELP. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,179.
I AM SO AGGRAVATED WITH THE PONTIAC COMPANY, I FILED A RECENT COMPLAINT OVER THE PHONE. THE BODY CONTROL MODULAR NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED/REPLACED BUT BECAUSE MY PARTICULAR CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 2014 RECALL THEY ARE REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE DEALER I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR TO IS TRYING TO BLAME IT ON US BECAUSE THE CAR HAS AFTER MARKET ITEMS ON THE CAR WHICH WE DID NOT ADDTO THE CAR, WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR FROM TOYOTA ON NICHOLASVILLE SUPERSTORE THAT STUFF WAS ADDED ALREADY BY SOMEONE ELSE, AND IF THAT WAS THE PROBLEM WHY IS THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON//OFF PROBLEM JUST NOW SHOWING UP SINCE IT WAS A YEAR THIS PAST MAY THAT WE HAVE OWNED THE CAR. I THINK THAT THE PONTIAC COMPANY JUST DOESN'T WANT TO HELP FIX THE PROBLEM AND WE ARE STUCK WITH A CAR THAT HAS BRAKE LIGHT ISSUES THAT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAMGUNG PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE AND I HAVE NO WAY TO PAY FOR IT TO BE FIXED.

THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V252000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000. UPDATED 08/30/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKE EITHER ILLUMINATE ALL THE TIME, OR THEY DO NOT ILLUMINATE AT ALL. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WOULD GO HAYWIRE. THE SEAT BELT ALARM SOUNDED EVEN WHEN IT WAS UN-BUCKLED, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND SO DID OTHER RANDOM LIGHTS. UPDATED 10/26/16.*JB
I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH ABOUT 114000 MILES ON IT. THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON BUT NO INDICATION AS TO WHY IT IS ON. IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT ACCORDING TO REPORTS. I HAD SERVICE COMPLETE THE 2 OUTSTANDING RECALLS ON THE CAR. I ALSO REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKES ONLY TO TAKE IT BACK A WEEK LATER AND REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE CALIPER ALSO. THE OTHER DAY WHILE DRIVING HOME, I EXPERIENCED VIBRATING IN MY BRAKES WHEN BRAKING. AT THAT TIME NO ABS LIGHT CAME ON OR TC CONTROL LIGHTS, HOWEVER WHEN HUBBY WAS GETTING READY TO TEST DRIVE IT, THE ABS LIGHT AND BOTH TC LIGHTS CAME ON AND HAVE STAYED ON. BRAKES ARE WORKING FINE AT THE MOMENT, I TOOK IT TO A SERVICE CENTER AND CHECKED FOR ADDITIONAL RECALLS (BECAUSE I READ ABOUT ONE ON THIS ISSUE SOMEWHERE THE OTHER DAY WHEN SEARCHING) BUT THEY ASSURED ME THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR SUCH AN ISSUE WITH MY VIN. THE CAR CURRENTLY ONLY HAS 123,000 MILES ON IT. MY NEXT STEP I GUESS IS TO TAKE IT TO ADVANCE AUTO FOR A SCAN AND SEE IF ANYTHING SHOWS UP :( I DO A LOT OF TRAVELLING SO I NEED A DEPENDABLE/RELIABLE/SAFE VEHICLE. I LOVE THE CAR BUT I DON'T LOVE ALL THE BRAKE ISSUES AND NOT KNOWING WHY THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. I HAVE PUT NEARLY $1000 INTO MY CAR IN JUST A MATTER OF MONTHS DUE TO BREAKS AND EXHAUST SYSTEM.
TAIL LIGHT RECALL REPAIR COMPLETED IN 2013 - CAR HAS BEEN BACK TO DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES FOR SAME ISSUE. TAIL LIGHTS COME ON WHEN DRIVING AN GO OUT WHEN YOU HIT THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A SEMI LAST NIGHT AS THE BRAKE LAMPS WERE NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY. DEALER CLOSED OUT THE CASE AS REPAIRED - GM RECALL LINE WILL DO NOTHING AND WANT ME TO PAY $120 AN HOUR TO HAVE THE CAR PUT ONTO DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE - I REFUSE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR ANYMORE EXPENSES - I'VE PAID OVER $500 ALREADY BEFORE RECALL WAS EXTENDED TO 2008 MODELS. I WORK AT A GM POWERTRAIN PLANT, THIS TYPE OF REPAIR IS UNACCEPTABLE TO MY STANDARDS OF WHAT MANAGEMENT TELLS US QUALITY IS TO GM. PLEASE INVESTIGATE FURTHER THEIR FIX WAS A JUMP HARNESS AND RE-GREASING OF THE BCM - THAT IS NOT THE FIX THE REAL ISSUE IS THE BCM'S ARE BAD AND NEED TO BE REPLACED MY GM REFERENCE ID FOR THIS ISSUE IS 8-2214129861. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR AT NIGHT WITH NO WORKING BRAKE LIGHTS. ISSUE HAPPENS WHILE IDLING, CITY DRIVING, AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. TRACTION CONTROL AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON ALONG WITH SCROLLING ON CAR SCREEN TO SERVICE TRACTION SERVICE ESC. CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGES AND ALL TRACTION STABILITY OF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF.. PRESSURE IN THE BRAKE PEDAL ALSO GOES.
STEERING WHEEL SHAKES WHILE PARKED AND DRIVING. LAST YEAR HAD THE TORQUE SENSOR IN THE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED WITH A RECALL THAT CAUSED THE SAME ISSUE. 9 MONTHS LATER THE STEERING WHEEL HAS STARTED SHAKING AGAIN WHILE DRIVING AND NOW THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONIC STEERING SYSTEM MODULE. $700 TO FIX. THEY SAID IT IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL( WHICH SOME RESEARCH SAID THIS MIGHT HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED UNDER THE RECALL) AND WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER.
DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT COULD NOT BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE CONNECTOR AND WIRING BURNT. THE CASING BROKE OFF TWO OF THE WIRES AND WHEN THEY TOUCHED THE CONNECTOR MELTED BEHIND THE BULB. THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY UNIT HAS TO BE REPLACED. I SAW ANOTHER COMPLAINT FILED A FEW DAYS AGO WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. HOWEVER, WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS NOT DEPRESSED, THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND SRS AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000.
SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR. THE ONLY THING I SEE IS I ADJUSTED WAS THE POWER DRIVER SIDE SEAT THEN THE LIGHT CAME ON.
THE HEADLIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT I TOOK IT IN TO GET THE BULB REPLACED AND IT WAS MELTED.
WHEN I TRIED STARTING MY CAR IT WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING SO I HAD TO PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THEN IT STARTED UP AND THAT HAPPENED TO ME THREE TIMES SO FAR IT'S LIKE IT WANT START UNLESS I TURN THE IGNITION AND PUT IT IN NEUTRAL FOR A DRIVE AND I DON'T THINK IT SHOULD BE DOING THAT AND WITH MY BRAKES I GOT NEW BRAKES ON MY CAR FOR FRONT AND BACK AND IT'S LIKE I NEVER PUT BRAKES ON BECAUSE IT'S STILL MAKE NOISE LIKE I NEED BRAKES AND THAT'S CRAZY AND I DON'T THINK THAT'S GOOD AND THE CAR SEEMS LIKE IT BE MOVING WHEN IT'S IN PARK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE JOINT BEARING AND THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ON 05/11/16 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:49 PM, THIS 2008 PONTIAC G6, WHILE TRAVELING IN A FORWARD DIRECTION ON A PUBLIC ROAD AND IN DRY SURFACE CONDITIONS, MODERATE TEMPERATURES, WAS BROUGHT TO A RAPID STOP DUE TO CHANGING TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. THE DRIVER WAS RESTRAINED VIA THE SEAT BELT. FOUR SECONDS LATER, THIS 2008 PONTIAC G6 WAS STRUCK IN THE REAR BY A 2005 PONTIAC VEHICLE TRAVELING AT MODERATE SPEED AND POSSIBLE DRIVER INATTENTION. SIGNIFICANT REAR, FRONTAL, UNDERSIDE AND SIDE AREAS OF BOTH VEHICLES WERE DAMAGED. BOTH VEHICLES WERE NOT DRIVABLE AND WERE TOWED FROM THE ACCIDENT SCENE TO A SECURE LOT. THE 2008 PONTIAC G6 AIRBAGS DID NOT INFLATE UPON IMPACT OR THEREAFTER. THE 2005 PONTIAC AIRBAGS(2) DID INFLATE AND ALSO SUFFERED A PASSENGER SIDE BROKEN FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE OCCUPANTS AND ONE CANINE IN ONE AND OR BOTH VEHICLES DID SUFFER UNKNOWN INJURIES. THE 2008 PONTIAC G6 HAD BEED SERVICED UP TO AND INCLUDING WITHIN ONE YEAR BY A GM DEALERSHIP FOR VARIOUS RECALLS AND OVER THE HISTORY OF THE VEHICLE.

THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V460000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
CAR DIED HAD NO POWER LIGHTS WENT DIM SO I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR PUT WON ON AND ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON BATTERY WAS GOOD STILL NOTHING GOT A JUMP STII NOTHING NEXT DAY DEAD AGAIN.

WHILE INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSES WERE ROUTED UNDERNEATH CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND CAUSED THE POWER STEERING HOSES TO MELT. THE FAILURE CAUSED A LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE DUE TO THE LIQUID BEING ABLE TO DRIP ONTO THE EXHAUST PIPE. THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSES NEEDED TO BE RE-ROUTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON FAILURE FOR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 124,131.
DAUGHTER SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING AFTER LEAVING HOUSE. SPEED OF APPROX 25MPH ON A CITY STREET. ALSO POPPING IN STEERING COLUMN AND LOOSE PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL AFTER EVENT OCCURRED. CAR CURRENTLY AT DEALER BUT LOOKS LIKE THE SAME PROBLEM EFFECTING OTHER G6'S. MANY ARE COVERED UNDER RECALL BUT APPARENTLY MY 08 G6 IS JUST PAST THE EFFECTED DATES.
REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM INSIDE; CAN'T OPEN THE DOOR. CAR IS STATIONARY,
DRIVER SIDE FRONT LOW BEAM LIGHT WAS OUT AND REPLACED AT PEP BOYS IN APRIL 2016. SINCE THEN THE LIGHT WOULD WORK INTERMITTENLY. I RETURNED TO PEP BOYS AND WAS TOLD IT WAS PROBABLY AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT THEY SEE 9 OUT OF 10 TIMES WITH PONTIACS. WENT TO DEALER ON 8/22/2016 AND WAS TOLD THAT THE BULB CONNECTOR HAD MELTED, A PROBLEM THAT IS VERY COMMON WITH THIS CAR. I HAD TO PAY $212.17 TO REPLACE THE LOW BEAM CONNECTOR AND THE NEW HEADLAMP THAT I WAS TOLD COULD NOT BE RE-USED. I AM NOW HOPING IT DOESN'T BURN OUT AGAIN SOON OR THAT THE RIGHT SIDE DOESN'T BURN OUT TOO. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM BECAUSE I NEVER KNEW WHEN MY HEADLIGHT WOULD BE ON OR IF IT WOULD REMAIN ON DURING AN OUTING. SOMETIMES I WOULD BOARD MY CAR AND BEGIN DRIVING WITH THE LIGHT ON AND PART WAY THROUGH MY TRIP THE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF LEAVING ME SUDDENLY IN THE DARK. LUCKILY I WAS NEVER STOPPED AND TICKETED BY THE POLICE OR, EVEN WORSE, SUFFERED AN ACCIDENT DUE TO A SUDDEN CHANGE IN VISIBILITY ON THE ROAD.
I HAVE HAD THE NECESSARY EPS RECALL WORK DONE ON MY G6 AND CONTINUE TO HAVE POWER STEERING ISSUES. THE DEALER STATED THAT I NEED TO HAVE THE TORQUE SENSOR ASSEMBLY REPLACED AND THAT MY VIN DOES NOT QUALIFY ALTHOUGH THERE ARE OTHER MANUFACTURE DATES THAT DO. I'M WONDERING IF THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE FOR MY 2008 PONTIAC G6 WHICH WAS MANUFACTURED 11/2007?

I TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL SHOP THAT DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS AN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING COLUMN. I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE TORQUE SENSOR AS THE ISSUE. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT MY PARTICULAR VIN NUMBER IS NOT COVERED TO FIX THE ISSUE UNDER CAMPAIGN 14V153000.
