TODAY I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE CITY STREET, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE PASSAGER LIGHT CAME, SO I WENT TO THE LOCAL AUTO STORE TO GET IT TESTED , THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE CODE CAME UP SAYING THAT A SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED . SO I CALLED A DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME I WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER A RECALL OR ANYTHING ELSE. IS WORK COST 1,100. SO NOW I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON TWO OCCASIONS. ON THE SECOND OCCASION, IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT AN UNKNOWN COMPONENT HAD MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I ARRIVED HOME, THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVING FINE, I GOT OUT, WENT INSIDE MY HOME FOR APPROX. 15 MIN, GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND IT WILL NOT GO OUT OF PARK, THE SHIFTER IS EXTREMELY LOOSE AND JUST SLIDES FROM PARK TO LOW, I KNOW THERE IS A RECALL ABOUT THE CABLE BEING BROKE AND IT POSSIBLY BEING STUCK IN ANOTHER GEAR AND I DIDN'T KNOW IF THIS FELL INTO THAT CATEGORY BEFORE I SPENT MONEY ON A MECHANIC, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL ABOUT THE CABLE, THE ONLY RECALL I HAVE RECEIVED IS ABOUT THE BRAKE LAMP. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. THE CONTACT NOTICED STRONG FUEL FUMES EMITTING OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP, PLACED ON A LIFT FOR INSPECTION, AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A FRACTURE ASSOCIATED WITH THE FUEL PUMP AND THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE FURTHER DIAGNOSED BY THE MECHANIC AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
ONCE I START MY VEHICLE THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR APPEARS ON THE RADIO SCREEN AND MY STEERING WHEEL SHAKES FROM SIDE TO SIDE. SOMETIMES IF I TURN THE CAR OFF AND RE START IT THE WHEEL WILL NOT SHAKE FROM SIDE TO SIDE AND IT WILL DRIVE FINE. I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE. MY VEHICLE BECAME HARDER FOR ME TO STEER AND THEN IT GOT EASY FOR ME TO STEER. THIS HAPPENS ALL OF THE TIME WHEN I AM DRIVING AT A LOW OR HIGH SPEED AND I AM AFRAID I WILL CRASH MY VEHICLE. MY STEERING WHEEL MOVES BACK AND FORTH WITHOUT ME CONTROLLING IT AND IT LOCKS UP ON ME CAUSING ME TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO CONTROL MY VEHICLE.
MY BREAK LIGHTS STAY ON WHEN I AM DRIVING AND THEY GO OFF WHEN I HIT THE BREAKS. THEY WILL COME BACK ON ONCE MY FOOT IS ON THE PEDDLE FOR A FEW SECONDS. I HAVE FOUR CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 11 THAT RIDE WITH ME ON A DAILY BASIS. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THIS FIXED TOMORROW BUT WANTED TO COVER EVERYTHING BEFORE HAND, JUST IN CASE.
MY BREAK LAMPS ARE ILLUMINATING WHEN THE BREAKS ARE NOT BEING APPLIED. I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN FOR THE BCM RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT IT IS STILL OCCURRING. TODAY, 9/14/15 I ALSO STARTED RECEIVING THE MESSAGE THAT MY TRACTION CONTROL HAS BEEN TURNED OFF AND NEEDS SERVICED.
PASSENGER LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHT DOES NOT STAY LIT, EVEN AFTER REPLACING BULBS. APPEARS TO BE WIRING PROBLEM. PROBLEMS IS IN ALL CONDITIONS AND REGARDLESS OF MOVEMENT.
HAVE TO START CAR TWICE IN ORDER FOR IT TO TURN ON AND STRONG SMELL FUEL COMING INSIDE AND FILLING THE GARAGE WITH THE FUEL SMELL SEEMS LIKE ITS NOT GETTING ENOUGH GAS
TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE BRAKE LAMPS ILLUMINATED WITH OUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING PUSHED, WHEN BRAKE PEDAL APPLIED THE BRAKE LIGHTS TURNED OFF. CRUISE CONTROL WOULD NOT WORK PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL CRUISE WOULD WORK AGAIN UNTIL THE BRAKE LIGHTS RE ILLUMINATED WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL ENGAGED.
WELL I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK GO UP A HILL AND THE CAR STARTED LOSING SPEED GOING UP THE HILL I GIVE IT MORE GAS AND THE MOTOR STARTED KNOCKING I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS AND JUST WANT UP THE HILL REAL SLOW CARS WAS BLOWING THERE HORN AT ME I WAS FILL UPSET ABOUT THIS AND COME TO FINE OUT THAT PART IS ON RECALL..
DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS OUT. REPLACED IT, WENT BACK OUT WITHIN A WEEK. HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ON WEBSITES, AND IT SEEMS THAT GENERAL MOTORS IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS, BUT NO RECALL. WHY? REPLACING BULBS IS COSTLY, AND NOT TO MENTION DANGEROUS WHEN YOU THINKS YOU HAVE HEADLIGHTS AND DON'T. ALSO CAUSE FOR POLICE TO PULL U OVER. WHY HAS GM DONE NOTHING TO HELP ITS CUSTOMERS?
I HAVE POWER AND HEATED LEATHER SEATS FOR PONTIAC G6 GT COUPE. PROBABLY, THE SEAT CONNECTION METALS HAVE BAD QUALITY AND ARE BROKEN. WHEN WE RAISE THE SEAT IT TILTS TO ONE SIDE. IF THE SEAT MALFUNCTIONS WHILE BRAKING MAY CAUSE INJURIES. I HAVE SEEN IN THE INTERNET REPORTS FROM OTHERS FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE ON PONTIAC SEATS.
MY 2008 PONTIAC G6 AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND NOW STAYED ON FOR A WEEK. I HAVE HAD IT COME ON AND STAY ON FOR A DAY OR SO AND THEN SHUT OFF. THIS TIME IT HAS NOT SHUT OFF. I JUST GOT BACK FOR THE REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD IT IS THE PASSENGER SEAT MODULE WHICH IS THE PROBLEM. TO GET IT REPLACED IS OVER $800. THIS PART BEING DEFECTIVE SHUTS THE WHOLE AIRBAG SYSTEM OFF AND NOW IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH THEY WILL NOT DEPLOY UNLESS THIS IS REPLACED. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HAVE SEEN AND HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM MANY TIMES. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE A RECALL IS ISSUED?
BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON EVEN WHEN BRAKE PEDAL NOT PRESSED, YET MANY TIMES WHEN PEDAL IS PRESSED BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT GO ON. SCARY BECAUSE I WORRY ABOUT REAR END COLLISION. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY.
DROVE CAR TO WORK, APPROX. 8 MILES. PUT CAR IN REVERSE AND BACKED IN. WENT TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND SHIFTER JUST SLID THROUGH THE GEARS. CAR WILL NOT RESTART. CAR IS STUCK IN REVERSE. HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE SHIFT CABLE AND BRACKET. I SEE MY MODEL CAR HAS RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT IT IS NOT SHOWING UNDER MY VIN#. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THESE COSTS. COSTS ARE OVER $400. (MILEAGE ABOVE IS APPROX.) I DON'T HAVE CAR AT THIS TIME. STILL BEING WORKED ON.
I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK. SINCE THE ACCIDENT, WHEN I TURN MY STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT, THERE IS A SCREECHING OR SQUEALING SOUND. THE SOUND IS PRESENT WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT BUT NO WHERE NEAR AS BAD. I TOLD THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER WHEN HE CAME OUT AND HE TOLD ME TO TELL MY MECHANIC. DURING THE FIRST ROUND OF MY CAR GOING TO THE SHOP, MY MECHANIC COULDN'T RECREATE THE SOUND AND SENT THE CAR BACK. A COUPLE WEEKS GO BY AND THE SOUND CONTINUES TO GET LOUDER. I CALLED MY INSURANCE COMPANY AND TOOK THE CAR TO THE MECHANIC AND HAD HIM LISTEN TO THE SOUND. PRIOR TO DROPPING OFF MY CAR BACK TO THE MECHANIC, THE CAR STARTED GETTING HARDER TO STEER, ESPECIALLY AT LOWER SPEEDS. MY MECHANIC AND ANOTHER INSURANCE ADJUSTER COULDN'T REPRODUCE THE SOUND BUT MY MECHANIC TOLD THE ADJUSTER HAT HE HAD HEARD THE SOUND. THE ADJUSTER TOLD MY MECHANIC ABOUT THE RECALL AND ADVISED THAT I SHOULD MAKE A COMPLAINT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED ON A HILL FOR THREE HOURS, IT ROLLED BACKWARDS ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CABLE DETACHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PREVIOUSLY UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V460000 (POWER TRAIN); HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS GOOD FOR ONLY TWELVE MONTHS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER HAD JUST COME OUT OF A RESTAURANT. MY WIFE STARTED THE CAR, PUT IT INTO REVERSE, AND BACKED UP TO EXIT THE LOT. WHEN SHE PUT THE CAR INTO 'DRIVE', THE SHIFT INDICATOR WAS CORRECTLY POSITIONED ON THE CONSOLE BUT THE CAR REMAINED IN REVERSE. MY WIFE TRIED TO PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, BUT WAS UNABLE BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT COME OUT OF REVERSE. SHE ENDED UP SHUTTING OFF THE CAR AND WITH THE HELP OF A COUPLE OF STRANGERS, THEY WERE ABLE TO PUSH IT INTO AN EMPTY SPACE. BECAUSE THE CAR WAS STUCK IN REVERSE, IT WOULD NOT RESTART WHEN SHE TRIED. SHE DECIDED TO LEAVE THE CAR IN THE LOT OVERNIGHT AND HAVE IT TOWED THE NEXT MORNING. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER ARRIVED THE NEXT DAY, MY WIFE EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO HIM. HE OPENED THE HOOD, REACHED DOWN AND ADJUSTED A PLASTIC MOUNTING SNAP AND THEN HAD MY WIFE TRY TO START THE CAR. SHE WAS ABLE TO PUT IT INTO 'PARK' AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WAS WRONG AND TOLD HER THAT G6'S WERE PRONE TO THIS PROBLEM AND HE INDICATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ITEM OUT FOR IT (GM RECALL 14152). MY WIFE TOOK THE CAR TO FLOW GM AUTO SERVICE OF WINSTON-SALEM AND THEY HAD THE BRACKET AND CABLE IN STOCK AND INDICATED FURTHER THAT THERE WAS, INDEED, A RECALL FOR THAT SAME ISSUE ON 2008 PONTIAC G6'S BUT THE VIN OF OUR CAR WAS NOT IN THE LIST, SO THE RECALL WOULD NOT BE IN EFFECT. IN OTHER WORDS, WE WOULD HAVE TO PAYFOR IT OURSELVES. THE MECHANICAL FAILURE OF OUR CAR MATCHES THE FAULT FOR 2008 PONTIAC G6 AS OUTLINED IN THE RECALL. HAD MY WIFE BEEN BACKING OUT AT A FASTER SPEED, OR INTO TRAFFIC, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO GET REIMBURSED.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 50MPH THE FRONT END SHOOK VIOLENTLY THE A/C THEN WENT FROM COLD TO HOT AND THEN THE CAR WOULD NOT ALLOW ACCELERATION AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. IT CONTINUED TO HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES IN A 10 MINUTE DRIVE TO WORK. THEN AGAIN ON THE WAY HOME. THIS CAN CAUSE A ACCIDENT IF NOT FIXED. I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS BUT MY VIN SAYS NO OPEN RECALLS. CAN YOU ASSIST ME WITH THIS ISSUE?
AFTER STARTING THE CAR THE POWER STEERING INDICATOR SHOWS UP ON THE RADIO AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKES SIDE TO SIDE. WHILE DRIVING THERE IS STILL A SLIGHT SHAKE IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THERE IS WHAT FEELS LIKE A JUMP( ALMOST LIKE A MISSING TOOTH IN A GEAR). CALLED GM AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NO RECALL OR SAFETY BULLETIN FOR MY MODEL G6 WHEN I HAVE READ ABOUT A LOT OF THESE INCIDENTS ONLINE. ONLY HAD THE CAR 4 MONTHS AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY ALMOST $1300 TO HAVE IT FIXED OUTTA MY POCKET.
WE OWN A PONTIAC G6. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AFTER WE HAD RUN A CARFAX REPORT AND IT WAS INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE SAFE FOR OUR FAMILY TO DRIVE. WE HAD A FRONT HEADLIGHT BURN OUT. (HIGH AND LOW BEAMS) WE THOUGHT THAT THIS WOULD BE AN EASY FIX TO MAKE, AND WE WOULD JUST BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE HEADLIGHT BULB. IMAGINE OUR SURPRISE WHEN OUR MECHANIC FOUND OUT THAT THE ENTIRE FRONT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ELECTRICAL WIRES WERE BURNED TO A CRISP. (IT APPEARS THAT THE HEADLIGHT LIGHTING IS TOO CLOSE TO THE ACTUAL ENGINE COMPARTMENT.) THE ENTIRE REPAIR COST FOR ONE HEADLIGHT WAS $361.00 AFTER DISCOUNT. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. HAVING A RELIABLE LIGHTING SYSTEM ON A VEHICLE IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL. WE ALSO LOOKED ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE ISSUE WE WERE HAVING AND NOTICED THAT QUITE A FEW SIMILAR VEHICLE OWNERS (AT LEAST 24) HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE. WHY IS THE VEHICLE MAKER NOT REQUIRED TO PLACE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE? PONTIAC'S ANSWER, ACCORDING TO OTHER VEHICLE OWNERS, IS FOR THE OWNER TO PAY THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. WE DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THAT SHOULD BE THE CASE. WE BELIEVE THAT PONTIAC SHOULD STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND CORRECT THE ENGINEERING DESIGNERS FLAWED DESIGN AND ISSUE A RECALL.
2008 PONTIAC G6. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO SEVERAL RECALL NOTICES AND SEEKS REIMBURSEMENT FOR REPAIRS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER SENT IN RECALL NUMBERS 14V252000 AND 14V224000. ALSO, THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS WERE REPLACED. *JB
GEARS STOPPED WORKING AND CAR ROLLED AND STOPPED ON THE CURB, DEALER WILL NOT FIX RECALLED GEAR CABLE BECAUSE THE OWNER BEFORE ME HAD IT FIXED BUT IT HAS BROKE AGAIN
I WAS DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON NORTHBOUND I-75 WHEN I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION AND REALIZED THAT THE GLASS FROM MY SUNROOF WAS IN MY LAP. I REALIZE GLASS CAN BREAK BUT IT SHOULDN'T BE IN MY LAP AT 70 MPH! I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE KEPT MY COMPOSURE, SAFELY EXITED THE HIGHWAY AND DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TORQUE SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V153000 (STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 30,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH / CANCEL CAM STOPPED FUNCTIONING ON MY ORIGINAL OWNER 2008 G6. SIGNALS FLASH BUT STAY ON WELL AFTER A TURN IS MADE. THIS SHOULD BE ANOTHER RECALL AS IT APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE CARS. RECALLS ARE NEEDED ON THE FAULTY HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS AND THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT ITEMS AS WELL. GM NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TODAY.
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT WITH POWER ADJUST FOR UP/DOWN MOVEMENT STOPPED FUNCTIONING AND NOW LEANS TO THE RIGHT, PUSHING DRIVER INTO MIDDLE CONSOLE. INVESTIGATION SHOWS COMPLETE SEPARATION OF WELDED BRACKET ON BOTTOM OF SEAT RACK FRAME ADJUSTMENT TUBE - EVIDENT OF A FAULTY WELD DURING MANUFACTURING. THE OPPOSITE WELDED BRACKET IS STILL INTACT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC G6. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. DUE TO THE FAILURE, EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS REQUIRED TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,512.
THE SECOND HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS FAILED LEAVING US WITH ONLY ONE HEADLIGHT, NOT BECAUSE THE BULB BURNED OUT BUT THE WIRING HARNESS ITSELF MELTED. GM REFUSES TO OWN UP TO THIS PROBLEM, BUT A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH FOUND THOUSANDS OF RESULTS OF PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. THE GM DEALER DOES NOT HAVE AN EXACT REPLACEMENT PART THEY JUST GIVE OUT A GENERIC WIRING HARNESS THAT THE OWNER MUST CUT AND SPLICE TOGETHER. IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE THAT A WIRING HARNESS FOR SUCH A BASIC ESSENTIAL ELEMENT OF THE CAR WOULD EVER FAIL, MUCH LESS SO SOON. THE WIRES ARE OBVIOUSLY GETTING TOO HOT AND MELTING WHICH SHOWS A COMPLETE LACK OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING THAT WENT INTO DESIGNING THE HEADLIGHT WIRING. THIS IS NOT A WEAR AND TEAR ITEM. OWNERS TYPICALLY DON'T KNOW THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM FOR A VERY LONG TIME AS THE HEADLIGHT WILL WORK INTERMITTENTLY ONCE THE WIRING STARTS TO DEGRADE. THEY MIGHT NOTICE FROM TIME TO TIME THAT THE LIGHTS ARE NOT AS BRIGHT AS NORMAL ESPECIALLY WHEN TRAVELING OVER BUMPY ROADS, OR SPEED BUMPS AS THE JARRING OF THE WIRES CAN FORCE THE WIRES IN AND OUT OF CONTACT. DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT , I REPLACED IT 3 TIMES IN ONE WEEK. I THEN GO ON THE INTERNET AND GOOGLE THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING WITH MY G6. THERE WAS OVER 500 THOUSANDS RESULTS OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS ME . SO WENT TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT AGAIN AND LOOKED FOR ANY CORROSION, UNPLUGGED MY HEADLIGHT THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE BLOWN AND IT WASN'T , I PLUGGED THAT SAME HEADLIGHT BACK IN AND IT CAME ON. I CALLED GM , AND COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE IT FIXED AT MY COST. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN GM! *TR
PASSENGER OCCUPANT SENSOR, MALFUNCTION, I HAVE NO AIR BAGS ENABLED OR SEATBELT LOCKS DUE TO THIS FAILING IT'S 800 FOR THE WHOLE PART, PLUS LABOR OF 400. I HAVE EXTENDED WARRANT WHICH DON'T COVER THIS ISSUE. STATES SERVICE AIRBAG. BAD CONNECTIONS IN HEADLIGHT MELTED RIGHT OFF AND DAMAGED HEADLIGHT
BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY BURN OUT EVERY 2-3 WEEKS AND WHEN CHECKED THE DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT CONNECTOR IS MELTED SO NOW I AM UNABLE TO REPLACE THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS AT ALL AND AM FORCED TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS. HIGH BEAMS AND TURN SIGNALS ARE NOT AFFECTED. I THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED IN OTHER GM CARS BUT FOR SOME REASON MY MODEL IS NOT INCLUDED EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME ISSUE AND NOT SURE WHY IT ISN'T.

JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 35 MILES. SLOWED DOWN TO TURN INTO A PARKING LOT. THE ELECTRIC STEERING ASSIST STOPPED WORKING. WITH GREAT EFFORT I WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE TURN. AFTER SITTING TURNED OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES, I RESTARTED THE CAR AND I HAD POWER STEERING AGAIN. SINCE THEN, IT INTERMITTENTLY HAS POWER STEERING. IT SEEMS LIKE THE RECALLS ON OTHER PONTIAC G6 CARS BUILT A LITTLE EARLIER THAN THIS ONE. *TR

I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN IN THE INTERSECTION AND MY STEERING WENT OUT. THE DISPLAY STARTED SHOWING THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE. IT BECAME INCREASING DIFFICULT TO STEER. IT APPEARS GM RECALLED SOME MAKE/MODELS FOR THE SAME VEHICLE I HAVE HOWEVER MY VIN IS NOT ONE OF THE ONE'S THAT FALL UNDER THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH THIS SEEMS TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM. I NOTICED A STRONG GAS ODOR COMING FROM MY VEHICLE AND EVEN INSIDE MY VEHICLE WHEN I WAS PARKED. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE GAS I HAD PUT INTO THE TANK THE PREVIOUS DAY. HOWEVER, WITH MY CAR PARKED IN THE GARAGE AT MY HOME, THE GAS SMELL BECAME OVERWHELMING. I TOOK MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR MAINTENANCE AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED REPLACING AND NOTIFIED ME OF THE COST. I CONTACTED PONTIAC AND THEY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP ON CONFERENCE CALL TO CLARIFY FOR ME WHAT WAS NEEDED. ON THE CALL (WITH PONTIAC ON THE LINE) THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THAT A PLASTIC PIECE OF THE FUEL PUMP WAS CRACKED AND COULD NOT BE REPLACED SEPARATELY SO THAT IS WHY I HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP. THIS DEFECT IS EXACTLY WHAT IS LISTED IN THE RECALL ON THE PONTIAC G5 2007-2009 AND I FIND IT NO COINCIDENCE THAT THE SAME ISSUE HAS OCCURRED ON MY VEHICLE AND I'M SURE COUNTLESS OTHERS WHO JUST AREN'T AWARE TO FILE A COMPLAINT. *TR

EXCESSIVE FUEL/GAS SMELL COMING FROM OUTSIDE THE CAR (08 PONTIAC G6). TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THE PROBLEM IS THE FUEL PUMP. AIRTEX RE-CALLED FUEL PUMPS SOLD IN 2013, AND THERE IS ALSO A RECALL FOR OTHER GM CARS AND SUV'S FOR THE SAME PROBLEM (SMALL CRACK ON TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP). IN AN EVENT OF A CRASH THE CAR CAN CATCH ON FIRE, THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION AND THE PONTIAC G6 FUEL PUMPS SHOULD BE RECALLED, OBVIOUSLY THERE IS A DESIGN PROBLEM/MATERIAL USED ON THE FUEL PUMP THAT IS THE PROBLEM. *TR
