2007 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. CONSUMER REQUESTS REIMBURSEMENT FOR VEHICLE LOW BEAM HEAD LAMP DRIVER MODULE RECALL NOTICE REPAIRS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING IN NOVEMBER 2014. IN SEPTEMBER 2015, HE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE REGARDING HEADLIGHT FAILURE. WHILE AT THE DEALER FOR SERVICE, HE INQUIRED ABOUT THE RECALL. HOWEVER, THE DEALER STATED THEY DID NOT HAVE THE RECALL IN THEIR SYSTEM. THE CONSUMER SUBMITTED A REQUEST FORM FOR REIMBURSEMENT. A REPRESENTATIVE FROM GENERAL MOTORS INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE DEALERS HAD NOT BEEN ADVISED OF THE RECALL AND THAT HE WOULD RECEIVED FURTHER PAPERWORK, WHICH HE COULD THEN SUBMIT ONCE THE PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER INFORMED GENERAL MOTORS, THE REPAIRS HAD ALREADY BEEN MADE. RECALL # 15V519000. ALSO, THE THERMOSTAT WAS REPLACED. *JB
RANDOM MISFIRE CODE WON'T GO AWAY SINCE WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE WHICH WAS THEN UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE CAR COMPUTER & IGNITION COIL MODULE, SPARK PLUGS AND THE CODE TEMPORARILY WENT AWAY GOOD ENOUGH TO PASS EMISSIONS. THEY ALSO PERFORMED THE KEY RECALL THE CODE KEEPS COMING & NO MECHANIC OR DEALERSHIP CAN TELL ME WHY BUT THEY KEEP TAKING MY MONEY FOR A TEMPORARY FIX.THE DEALERSHIP SAID I NEEDED A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I HAVE REPLACED 5 SENSORS, THE IGNITION COIL MODULE TWICE, THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, ALL SIX FUEL INJECTORS, THE FUEL PUMP AND HAD 3 MAJOR TUNE UPS. TO DATE THE ENGINE LIGHT SHUTS OFF TEMPORARILY AND ALWAYS RETURNS WITH THE SAME TWO CODES P0300 & P0420. IT FLASHES OCCASIONALLY BUT STAYS STEADY MOST DAYS.NO WORK DONE IS TURNING THE ENGINE LIGHT OFF FOR GOOD.

CAR STALLED AT OPERATING TEMPERATURE WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS INDICATED ONLY INDICATION WAS HARD TO STEER AND HARD TO BRAKE BECAUSE OF ENGINE STALLING. HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC AND PIN POINT TEST. REPLACED CRANK POSITION SENSOR AND IGNITION CONTROL MODULE. THE CAR AGAIN STALLED ON THEM WITH NO WARNING LIGHT INDICATIONS ONLY THAT STATED ABOVE. THE CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD ON THE ROAD BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. THE CAR STALLS WHEN WARM AND NO TIED TO ANY SPECIFIC SPEED. THIS CAR HAS STALLED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES NOW AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS EVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEED OF 55 MPH. CURRENTLY HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH PONTIAC CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DEALERSHIP STILL HAS THE CAR AND CURRENTLY NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO OCCUR ON THE GRAND PRIX FOR YEARS 1998 TO 2007 WITH NO ANSWER TO WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE LOOKED SERIOUSLY BECAUSE IT PUTS ALL DRIVERS ON THE ROAD IN SERIOUS HARM AND COULD SERIOUS ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF A CAR STALLING AT ANYTIME. I HAVE HAD THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE REPLACED TWO TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK AND THE IGNITION COILS AND WIRES ALONG WITH THE SPARK PLUGS WITH THE SAME RESULT OF CAR STALLING WHEN CAR REACHES OPERATING TEMPERATURES. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,973 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,300.
WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 35-40 MPH MY CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF, WHEEL AND BREAKS TOO AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A CAR SHOP TO BE LOOKED AT AND FIXED. ONCE THE CAR WAS THERE IT STARTED FINE AND WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN FOR SHORT DISTANCES BEFORE THE ENGINE WOULD SHUT OFF AGAIN. IT TOOK ABOUT 2 WEEKS TO FINALLY FIGURE OUT IT WAS A FUSE IN THE ENGINE THAT WAS NOT LETTING POWER THROUGH. WELL, THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED IN 2013 SUMMER WHERE THE SAME PART HAD TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. *TR

THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS IMPACTED AND THE FRONT END CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION AND A BACK INJURY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE AND INSPECTED BY INVESTIGATORS WHO COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE BECAUSE THE FUEL TANK WAS LOCATED IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
