PASSANGE SIDE WIND SHIELD WIPER MORTOR IS MOVING BE ITS GOTTEN SCRAPPED OFF SO IT'S LOOSE AND IT CANE GO BACK IN BECAUSE IT GOTTEN SCRAPPED OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO RUN ROUGH AS SMOKE WAS EMITTED THROUGH THE VENTS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP IN A PARKING LOT AND UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE WITH HIS PASSENGER SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DAYSTAR CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (206 S CARROLLTON ST, MALVERN, OH 44644) WHERE THE FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) COOLER WAS FRACTURED CAUSING A FIRE. THE EGR COOLER WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE GLOW PLUG AND THE CYLINDER REPLACED DUE TO THE FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V757000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.
DRIVING AT 55 MPH AND MAKING A SWEEPING RIGHT HAND TURN THE VEHICLE LOCKED THE STEERING WHEEL AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ENTER THE DITCH. WHEN TOWED TO THE DEALER THEY FOUND A FAILED ELECTRIC POWER STEERING GEAR. THERE IS A RECALL FROM RAM REGARDING EPS SYSTEM FAILURE ,BUT THIS UNIT WAS NOT AFFECTED.
EGR COOLER CRACKED AND LEAKED COOLANT ONTO THE INTAKE. THIS MELTED THE INTAKE AND CAUSED OTHER DAMAGE. WHAT HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE SOUNDS THE SAME AS NHTSA RECALL ID 19V757.
MY AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND SAYS IT NEEDS SERVICED HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED A LOOSE CONNECTOR BUT THE LIGHT STILL COMES ON PERIODICALLY.
ENGINE LIFTERS AND CAMSHAFT FAILURE. ENGINE MISFIRING AND POWER LOSS.
ISSUE #1 TRUCK IS DANGEROUS TO OPERATE SINCE EMISSION CONTROL UPDATE. WILL NOT ACCELERATE FROM A STOP FOR SEVERAL SECONDS THEN SPINS WHEELS. UNSAFE ON WET ROADS AND SLOPES DUE TO UNEXPECTED THROTTLE RESPONSE. UNSAFE WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR CROSSING INTERSECTION. UNABLE TO TOW DUE TO LOSS OF POWER. FUEL MILEAGE ADVERSELY AFFECTED. NOW GETS 13-17 MPG. TAILPIPE EMISSIONS NOW SMELL LIKE DIESEL AND TAILPIPE HAS TURNED BLACK SINCE UPDATE. CANNOT LEAVE ENGINE RUNNING IN THE GARAGE DUE TO OVERWHELMING ODOR OF DIESEL. PERSISTENT ODOR OF ANTIFREEZE. ISSUE #2 I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT FROM FCA. THE MANDATED UPDATES HAVE BEEN PERFORMED. I AM LOOKING FOR LEGAL COUNSEL TO HELP ME GET OUT OF THIS VEHICLE BEFORE SOMEONE I CARE ABOUT IS INJURED OR KILLED DUE TO THE LOSS OF PERFORMANCE AND ERRATIC THROTTLE CONTROL. ISSUE #3 LOSS OF POWER WHEN CROSSING INTERSECTION FROM A ROLLING START. ENGINE FAULT LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE ROAD WITH FOUR LANES OF ONCOMING HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC. ISSUE #4 TAILGATE OPENED WITH A LOAD OF LUMBER IN THE BED CAUSING LOSS OF LOAD. THE TAILGATE HAD TO BE REPLACED AT MY OWN EXPENSE. THANKFUL THAT NO ONE WAS INJURED DUE TO THE LOSS OF LOAD OR DURING THE CLEANUP. ISSUE #5 FUEL PUMP NOISE. THE FUEL PUMP MAKES A CONSTANT NOISE THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE BEARINGS ARE FAILING OR SOMETHING SIMILAR. WAITING TO BE STRANDED AGAIN. ISSUE #6 LOSS OF VEHICLE POWER. WOULD NOT ACCELERATE TO ROAD SPEED. 20 MPH MAX WHEN EXHAUST FILTER BECAME CLOGGED UP AND WOULD NOT REGENERATE. ISSUE #7 4X4 TRANSFER CASE MAKES GRINDING NOISE AND HAS EXCESSIVE PLAY. WHEN ROLLING ALONG IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THIS IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DUE TO THE ROCKING BACK AND FORTH UPON ACCELERATION / DECELERATION. ISSUE #8 AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT COOL AS WHEN NEW. AND MORE -OUT OF SPACE.
TL* THE CONTACT'S GIRLFRIEND OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE POWER ASSIST FAILED TO OPERATE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER ASSIST WOULD ONLY OPERATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LAFONTAINE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF CLINTON (1111 W MICHIGAN AVE, CLINTON, MI 49236) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WAS FAULTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V167000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JACKSONVILLE CHRYSLER, JEEP, DODGE AND RAM (11101 NURSERYFIELDS DR, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32256, (904) 493-0000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 93,378.
THERE IS A CONSIDERABLE DIFFERENCE IN THROTTLE RESPONSE CURRENTLY UPON INITIALLY STARTING VEHICLE. IT MAKES IT QUITE DIFFICULT FOR THE TRUCK TO ACCELERATE AS INTENDED SHORTLY AFTER STARTING. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL INCIDENTS ALREADY IN WHICH I HAVE HAD TO STOMP ON THE ACCELERATOR TO AVOID A COLLISION AS I WAS NOT EXPECTING THE TRUCK TO CRAWL ALONG VERSUS IT'S STANDARD ACCELERATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL EXHAUST ODOR IN THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NORTH POINT CHRYSLER DODGE FIAT JEEP RAM LOCATED AT 7726 NORTH POINT BLVD, WINSTON-SALEM, NC 27106, (336)306-8945, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE TECHNICIAN WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEALER REPLACED A HALF OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO REPAIRS PERFORMED IN THE NEAR PROXIMITY OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER OR THE HEADER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REPAIR THE WIRING AND THE POWER STEERING TEMPORARILY RETURNED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COTTAGE GROVE CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2800 ROW RIVER RD, COTTAGE GROVE, OR 97424, (541) 942-5551) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V167000 (STEERING), WHICH HE ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
FIRST TIME GAS CAP PROBLEM....REPLACED IT CK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF...HAD TO LEAVE TRUCK AT DEALER 4 DAYS😡! NEXT GAS TANK NECK HAD TO REPLACED ......LEFT TRUCK AT DEALER 2 DAYS😡 NEXT GAS PUMP SHUTS OFF AS IF TANK IS FULL EVEN THOUGH IT HAS ONLY QUARTER TANK ....... TOOK IT IN TO DEALER WANTED TRUCK LEFT FOR 3-4 DAYS TO CHECK.....EMISSION PROBLEMS.....3 TIMES😡 ALL HAPPENED WHILE PARKED AT HOME AND GAS STATION!
THE EGR COOLER RECALL HAS AFFECTED MY TRUCK AND THERE IS NOT A FIX FOR THE RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED IN OCTOBER 2019. I AM EXPERIENCED A REDUCTION IN FUEL ECONOMY BY ABOUT 20% SINCE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS ALSO CAUSED OTHER FEATURES OF MY VEHICLE TO LONGER BECOME OPERABLE (REMOTE STARTED WILL NOT WORK WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT).

THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED A FIRE UNDER THE HOOD. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I LIVE IN MINNESOTA SO OBVIOUSLY ITS A COLD CLIMATE. MY DODGE REBEL CONTINUALLY FREEZES IN THE DOWNWARD POSITION MAKING DRIVING IT VERY DIFFICULT AND A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. SOMETIMES THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. IS THERE A RECALL? THERE DEFINITELY SHOULD BE.
DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT HAS A BROKEN SEAL AND HAS FILLED WITH CONDENSATION. HEADLIGHT HAS REDUCED PERFORMANCE AND DOES NOT OFFER THE PROPER LEVEL OF LIGHTING FOR NIGHT DRIVING. I HAVE SEEN A DOZEN OF THESE DODGE RAMS WITH THE SAME CONDITION. THE DEALER SAID THEY HAVE NO DIRECTION FROM DODGE TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE.
I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE ON 12/4/19 FROM FCA US. IT STATES THERE MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE EGR COOLER WHICH MAY RESULT IN A FIRE AND RISK OF INJURY/PROPERTY DAMAGE. PER FCS RECALL "THE REMEDY FOR THIS CONDITION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE" I DON'T LIKE THE IDEA OR DO I WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE THAT THIS FIRE COULD HAPPEN TO ME AND MY FAMILY AS I OPERATE THIS VEHICLE. THE RISK IS TO GREAT. FCA SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE ME WITH A NO CHARGE COMPARABLE VEHICLE UNTIL THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND REPAIR COMPLETE. AGAIN, I DO NOT WANT TO DRIVE AROUND IN A POTENTIAL FIRE BOMB. KNOWINGLY DRIVING THIS VEHICLE COULD INJURY/KILL ME, FAMILY, AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD.. I HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE UNTIL FIXED AS I HAVE NO OTHER TRUCK OPTION. PLEASE DO SOMETHING. THE DRIVER AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED SORE THROAT AND EYE IRRITATION DUE TO THE SMOKE BUT IT WAS UNKNOWN IF MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V757000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER FOR ALMOST 2 MONTHS. THE DEALER REFUSED TO RETURN THE VEHICLE ALONG WITH ITS BELONGINGS TO THE CONTACT DUE TO THE PENDING RECALL HOWEVER THERE WAS NO RECALL REMEDY OR PART AVAILABLE EXPECTED DATE. THE CONTACT INQUIRED ABOUT THE BUY BACK PROGRAM BUT THERE WAS NO RESPONSE ON IT BEING APPROVED OR DECLINED. A LOANER VEHICLE WAS PROVIDED HOWEVER IT WAS A SMALLER VEHICLE CAUSING AN INCONVENIENCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL REMEDY OR PARTS AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000. (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS
FROM A COMPLETE STOP, DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL RESULTS IN MINIMAL ACCELERATION RESULTING IN NUMEROUS NEAR MISSES WHEN CROSSING OR MERGING WITH TRAFFIC. THIS "DEAD PEDAL" CONDITION LASTS FOR SEVERAL SECONDS (3-6) BEFORE THEN SURGING MORE THAN ANTICIPATED, OFTEN RESULTING IN A BRIEF LOSS OF TRACTION. THIS CONDITION OCCURS REPEATEDLY UNTIL THE ENGINE HAS REACHED NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURES (COOLANT >193 F).

MOMENTS LATER, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNT TO THE GROUND. THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS WERE PRESENT BUT NO REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE DRIVER DID EXPERIENCE SMOKE INHALATION AND POST TRAUMATIC DISTRESS BUT NO MEDIAL ATTENTION HAD BEEN SOUGHT AS OF YET. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. AT 55,000 MILES, STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS STOPPED WORKING. ISSUE APPEARS TO BE A WORN OR FAULTY CLOCK SPRING.
TRUCK COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITHOUT WARNING, HAS EGR AND SERVICE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL, SERVICE EXHAUST, HAS OTHER RELATED ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT SHOWS UP AS CODES, REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND IT STILL SHOWS LOW FUEL PRESSURE AND TAKE SEVERAL SECONDS TO CRANK NOW AND MY FUEL MILEAGE IS DECREASED.
81,000 MILES ON A ECO DIESEL. ON TRIP. CRUISE SET AT 75MPH ON I20 BASICALLY GOING STRAIGHT. A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, SOMETHING LIKE 'ELECTRONIC THROTTLE.' IT DID NOT STAY ON LONG. IMMEDIATELY STARTED LOOSING POWER BUT ENGINE STILL RUNNING BUT NOT RESPONSIVE. FINALLY CAME TO A HALT AND ENGINE DIED. ELECTRICITY STILL WORKING AS PUT ON EMERGENCY FLASHERS. STARTED CALLING RAM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. MY WIFE SAID SHE SMELLED SOMETHING. ABOUT MAYBE 30 SECONDS LATER WE COULD SMELL SOMETHING ON FIRE. SECONDS LATER SMOKE BILLOWING FROM BENEATH HOOD. WE BAILED OUT. GOOD SAMARITAN STOPPED WITHIN A FEW MINUTES WITH FIRE EXTINGUISHER. HE AND I POPPED HOOD AND FLAMES ARE SHOOTING ABOUT 18' ALONG BACK OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WE GOT FIRE OUT BUT WAS STILL SMOLDERING. HAD ALREADY CALLED 911. ABOUT 5-10 MIN LATER RURAL FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND DOUSED ENGINE WITH WATER AS IT WAS STILL 'HOT' AND WE WERE ON SHOULDER OF HIGHWAY BESIDE LARGE AREA OF DRY GRASS. FIREFIGHTERS SEEMED TO THINK IT WAS ELECTRICAL IN NATURE. CAME HOME AND BEGAN TO RESEARCH 1500 RAM ECODIESELS CATCHING FIRE. SEEMS THERE HAVE BEEN A NUMBER OF INSTANCES AND ALSO SEEING FCA IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING A POTENTIAL PROBLEM. THIS IS MY WORK VEHICLE FOR MY SMALL BUSINESS SO PRESENTLY INCAPACITATED. THANK YOU!
AFTER HAVING THE REQUIRED FCA EMISSION UPDATE, THE TRUCK WILL HESITATE WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR ATTEMPTING TO CLIMB A HILL UNTIL FULLY WARMED UP. PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR DOES NOTHING FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, THEN THE TRUCK ACCELERATES DRAMATICALLY. THIS NOTHING/EVERYTHING, IS DANGEROUS TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF THE TRUCK AS THEY MAY BE STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF. THE TRUCK IS DANGEROUS TO OTHER HIGHWAY USERS AS THE NOTHING/EVERYTHING THROTTLE MAY CAUSE A LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. THIS IS A DRASTIC CHANGE IN THE DRIVING CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS TRUCK FROM THE PRIOR TO FLASH SETTINGS. APPARENTLY DEALERS CAN NOT RETURN THE VEHICLE TO IT'S PREVIOUS SETTINGS, MAKING THEM LIABLE FOR THE SAFETY OF THE TRUCKS DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. THE EPA LAWSUIT AGAINST FCA HAS PUT NUMEROUS HIGHWAY USERS AR RISK!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHAMPAIGN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1906 MORELAND BLVD, CHAMPAIGN, IL 61822, (217) 352-4273) WHERE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE AXLE WAS WEARING OUT BEFORE THE BEARING FROM BEING IMPROPERLY HEAT TREATED, WHICH CAUSED THE STEEL TO BECOME WEAKER THAN THE BEARING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE UNKNOWN RECALL FOR THE AXLE FAILURE WITH THE BEARING. THE DEALER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE MANUFACTURER TO GET A CASE NUMBER AND TO HAVE THE MANUFACTURER CONTACT THE DEALER BACK TO HAVE THE REPAIRS COMPLETED. THE MANUFACTURER DENIED THAT A RECALL EXISTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,800.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE AND LOST ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS, INCLUDING BRAKING AND POWER STEERING ABILITY. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH WHAT REMAINED OF THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING FACILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN MOVED TO THE INSURANCE LOT. AN INVESTIGATION WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V757000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). BRICKNER MOTORS INC (16450 CO RD A, MARATHON CITY, WI 54448, (715) 842-5611) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 680791325. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A DECISION HAD NOT BEEN MADE AS TO WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
DRIVING ON I -29 AND WE SMELLED COMETHING LIKE ANTIFREEZE THEN SMOKE. TRUCK LOST POWER THEN GOT IT BACK AND WAS GOING TO TRY TO MAKE IT TO AN EXIT BUT PULLED OVER WHEN SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW FIRE! THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, FUEL SENSOR ERROR, AND THE FUEL NEEDLE MOVED TO EMPTY, LIGHT COMES ON FLASHING FUEL SENSOR FAIL. THIS STARTED HAPPENING AT AROUND 68000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN TOLD I WILL HAVE TO DROP THE GAS TANK AND REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP. I HAVE BEEN QUOTED UP TO $1000 TO FIX THIS ISSUE HAPPENS WHILE IDLING OR DRIVING THE TRUCK, I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN MY TANK IS GETTING CLOSE TO EMPTY, AND FEAR THAT MY FAMILY MAY BE STRANDED SOMEWHERE.
ON 10/31/2019 , FCA ISSUED RECALL VB1/NHTSA 19V-757 , FOR A POSSIBLE FIRE HAZZARD ON 2014- 2019 RAM 1500 TRUCKS WITH THE ECODIESEL ENGINE. THEY DID NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM , AT THAT TIME. IN EARLY APRIL OF 2020, I RECIEVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE, STATING PARTS WERE NOW AVAILABLE , AND TO CALL MY DEALER , TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL COMPLETED. WHEN I CALLED , THE DEALER SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS, BUT WERE EXPECTING THEM TO BE SHIPPED SOON. THEY PUT ME ON A WAITING LIST, AND SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME WHEN THE PARTS ARRIVED. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER EVERY MONTH SINCE THEN, AND THEY STILL TELL ME, THEY CAN'T GET THE UPDATED PARTS, TO DO THE RECALL ON MY TRUCK. I CALLED, TWO DIFFERENT FCA DEALERS ON 6/18/2020, AND I'M GETTING THE SAME RESPONSE FROM THEM, NO PARTS AVAILABLE. MY TRUCK IS NOW, FIVE YEARS OLD, AND HAS 53K MILES, TWO OF THESE LEAKING EGR COOLERS, HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I NOW HAVE A CASE NUMBER WITH FCA, AND HAVE BEEN TOLD, MY DEALER WILL HAVE MY TRUCK REPAIRED SOMTIME IN EARLY JULY. THESE UPDATED PARTS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE AVAILIBLE TO FIX THE 2014 AND 2015 TRUCKS.THESE TRUCKS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN OFF THE ROAD. WHEN COMING TO A STOP, A STRONG SMELL OF DIESEL AND DEF OR ANTI FREEZE COMES INTO CAB. WINDOWS ARE UP, IT COMES THRU THE VENTS.
THIS PERTAINS TO MY 2015 DODGE RAM WITH THE 3.0 LITER ECODIESEL ENGINE. EVER SINCE I GOT THE REQUIRED EMISSIONS CONTROL ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE UPDATE FROM FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES (FCA), MY TRUCK'S ENGINE PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN AFFECTED TO THE EXTENT THAT I CANNOT DEPEND ON IT'S EXCELLERATION. I PRESS ON THE GAS PEDDLE, AND THE ENGINE HESITATES SEVERELY BEFORE IT ACCELERATES. FROM A STOP SIGN OR A RED LIGHT, THE HESITATION IS SUCH THAT I WON'T TRY TO CROSS THE INTERSECTION IF THERE ARE ANY CARS EITHER TO MY RIGHT OR LEFT. SIMILARLY, THE HESITATION AND ACCELERATION LAG MAKES MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY A SAFETY CONCERN. THE TRUCKS FUEL ECONOMY HAS ALSO BEEN NEGATIVELY AFFECTED. EXTREME LAG DURING ACCELERATION HAS ALMOST RESULTED IN MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS. WORK COMMUTE HAS ME TURNING LEFT ONTO BUSY ROAD WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY DUE TO BLIND CORNER AND I'VE ALMOST BEEN T-BONED/REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF THE LAG BETWEEN GIVING THE TRUCK GAS AND ACTUAL ACCELERATION. THIS IS BECOMING MORE PREVALENT AS TEMPERATURES DROP. THE AEM RECALL WAS COMPLETED AND THE TRUCK HAS A HORRIBLE TURBO LAG, WHICH ALMOST CAUSED ME TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT TWICE WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF PICKING IT UP. DEALERSHIP WILL NOT LOOK AT IT AND THIS IS AN UNSAFE VEHICLE FOR ROAD USE.
AFTER HAVING THE AEM (APPROVED EMISSIONS MODIFICATION) DONE FOR MY VEHICLE I HAVE NOTICED AN EXTREME LAG IN ENGINE RESPONSE. WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP IT TAKES AT LEAST FOUR SECONDS FOR THE ENGINE TO RESPOND AS IT USED TO BEFORE THIS UPDATE. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL INSTANCES, EVEN TAKING THIS RESPONSE TIME INTO CONSIDERATION BEFORE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC, THAT I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF RESPONSE OR ACCELERATION. A CHECK ON ANY RAM ECODIESEL FORUM ON THE WEB WILL FIND MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. ALL AGREE THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND WILL EVENTUALLY RESULT IN SOMEONE'S DEATH. I WILL PUT TODAY'S DATE IN DOWN BELOW BECAUSE THIS IS NOT A ONE TIME OCCURRENCE IT IS A DAILY OCCURRENCE WITH THIS VEHICLE.
I HAD THE RECALL FROM RAM FOR THE ECODIESEL RECALL AND NOW THE TRUCK IS COMPLETE UNSAFE. I CAN'T EVEN ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC WITHOUT GETTING NERVOUS. THE TRUCK LAGS AND THE THROTTLE RESPONSE IS TERRIBLE NOW. INSTEAD OF BUYING THEM BACK LIKE VOLKSWAGEN DID, CHRYSLER PUT US IN DEATH TRAPS.
AFTER THE EMISSIONS RECALL FIX, THE VEHICLE NOW HAS A 5-6 SECOND PEDDLE LAG WHEN TAKING OFF. IT IS MORE NOTICEABLE WHEN COLD BUT STILL HAS LAG WHEN WARM. PER THE ECODIESEL SETTLEMENT I HAD THE UPGRADES DONE ON MY TRUCK. AFTER THE UPGRADE THERE WAS NOTICEABLE LOSS OF POWER AND THROTTLE RESPONSE. THERE WERE MANY OCCASIONS WHERE THE TRUCK WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO LOSS OF POWER WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP OR WHEN ACCELERATING TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY. I HAD TO TRADE IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FACT THAT A SAFE VEHICLE IS REQUIRED FOR MY JOB. I MENTIONED TO MY LOCAL RAM DEALER WHERE I HAD THE AEM UPGRADE DONE AND THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT, THAT MANY RAM OWNERS WERE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE POWER LOSS AND THROTTLE RESPONSE. EVEN THOUGH I TRADED IN THE TRUCK, THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. HAD THIS BEEN HOW THE VEHICLE PERFORMED FROM DAY, I NEVER WOULD'VE PURCHASED IT. I FEEL THAT FCA WAS NEVER HONEST AND UPFRONT WITH VEHICLE OWNERS OF THE ECODIESEL ENGINES.
WHEN I BOUGHT MY TRUCK IN SEPTEMBER 2018, EARNHARDT TOLD ME THEY FIXED THE RECALL TO THE TAILGATE, AND WHILE DRIVING TO WORK THIS MORNING MY TAILGATE DROPPED OPEN AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE TRUCK FOR ONE YEAR.
