This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

Was driving thru and turning right when my steering just started pulling and had to turn other way to correct my trucks path and then it just wouldn't turn much and got real stiff.... Afraid to drive it anymore and seen this issue was being investigated... This issue almost got me and my 3 boys into a wreck!
Front strap on fuel tank is broken. It is a danger and being held in place by ratchet straps. It is also sagging.

ABS module failing and Mopar doesn't have an available replacement.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 80 MPH with cruise control engaged, the contact heard an abnormal sound. Upon deactivating the cruise control feature, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road, and after opening the hood, the contact noticed an oil leak. The vehicle was towed to Patriot Diesel, where it was diagnosed and determined that the EGR system and fuel system failures had caused catastrophic engine failure, and there was a hole in the engine. The mechanic determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) and 19V757000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the dealer was at fault. No assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the “Service Electronic Throttle Control” message was displayed, and the vehicle went into LIMP Mode. While attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated that the failure had occurred while traveling out of state and was five hours away from home. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a cracked tone wheel. The contact was informed that the tone wheel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the contact referenced an unknown recall with a similar failure; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 138,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH, the vehicle started shaking and lost motive power. The ETC warning light illuminated, and the message "Service Electronic Throttle Control" was displayed. The vehicle was stopped in a safe location and inspected. The vehicle was turned off and restarted, but it was difficult while cranking over. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the tone wheel had delaminated and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact associated the failures with NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
Code P200A and P2D2D showed up, linking to an intake manifold issue. After researching, shows connected to Recall VB1. After speaking with FCA Recall department, they said that the recall was completed. To my knowledge, the vehicle is having the same related issues as the state previous to the recall. FCA will not initiate another recall on my vehicle to resolve the issue the VB1 recall was supposed to address.
Power steering became stiff and eventually quit. After driving to destination steering returned to very stiff condition. Risk safety involved a 20 mile curvy 2 lane road. I do not feel safe continuing to drive this vehicle.
The ABS module failed in June of 2025. Ram originally told me the part was on back order 6-8 months. In December they said there were 100 ABS modules on order for our area. In January 2026 they informed the mechanic that is doing the work that there is still parts on back order and it could be another 1-2 months. Today 2/25/26 the mechanic was told there are 265 modules on back order and it can be another 2-3 months. The truck now has a throttle body control issue that is stemming from the ABS issue. The truck is not operable at the moment because of this back order. I have been waiting for 7 months for this part and there are no alternatives on the market. If Ram does not get a part available for me I will either have to find a used one that hopefully isn't going to fail or be out of a $50,000 truck. This is a problem that many people have had according to all of the RAM forums. RAM needs to find a solution because the consumer already paid for the vehicle so parts should be available.
Driving down the road and the steering wheel light came on and I slowed down and tried to turn and it was locked in position and had to have it towed. Now I'm stuck with no vehicle as mine is about 3 hours away from home. Waiting on parts to come in.
ABS MODULE FAILED. MECHANIC TELLS ME THAT THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE. A USED PART MAY BE NECESSARY AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPROGRAMMED TO MY VEHICLE AT ADDED EXPENSE. LOOKS TO ME THAT THERE ARE SO MANY RAM TRUCKS EXPERIENCING THIS SAME ISSUE AND SOME HAVE RECALLS, BUT 2015 MODEL I OWN IS NOT COVERED. WHY? HOW CAN THIS BE ALLOWED? PARTNO LONGER MADE? THAT IS UNBELIEVABLE. WE RAM OWNERS NEED HELP FROM NHTSA. HELP US PLEASE. IM A RETIRED MAN WHO NEEDS HIS VEHICLE.
After few hours of research I found a part number to order replacement fuel filter required for use from Recall 22v-406. After passed onto by FCA and reaching out to Mopar who passed me onto local dealer and research on various forums I found a part number 68632011AA for the fuel filter so I thought. I contacted dealer and was told no filter is available and no date when it will be available, so back to research to find part number CSSMZ462AA-001 in the recall listed, I tried to order online but was told to contact local dealer and they confirmed the number good and placed order. I received the part today to find filter and housing cap. the filter resembles previous filters used but does not have any MOPAR stamp on it says made in China but box is labeled MOPAR and says made in Korea. the date on box is 12/15/2023. Is an aftermarket filter being packaged as OEM filter for a recall?
Stellantis has a recall for Loss of Crankshaft Position, Reference: 66A / NHTSA 23V-411. They did not include my truck in the recall but I have the exact same problem as verified by the dealer. The Recall Center will not answer the phone and reports errors when I call. The warranty center will not deal with this as it's a recall issue. The cost to repair all the parts is $8,745.75 without any coverage or recall support. The recall remedy was to flash the computer which would be a minimal cost but the dealer cannot do this unless my vehicle is added to the recall. The vehicle is in "limp mode" and is not safe for use while this issue persists. The problem became evident while starting the vehicle in the driveway.
ABS module failed and showed the warning lights. It happened ? years ago and I took it to dealership but still can not get the part to have repaired. This has affected the anti lock brakes, traction control and disables the cruise control. I have lost control coming to a stop light during a rain but luckily didn't hit anything during the slide. Hard to believe that they don't have a fix for this yet!
Traveling at 60MPH on a highway in the middle lane when my truck lost complete power steering. It felt as if I had zero control over my truck at a high speed. I managed to slow down and made it onto the shoulder without crashing. Had my truck towed to Dodge Chrysler ram dealership. Before dropping it off I saw there were at least 10 recalls for my truck that I mentioned to technician. They plugged my truck into their scanner and the technician got in my truck and drove it right into the shop bay. I’m unsure how he was able to maneuver the truck after plugging it in. After diagnosing the problems with my truck they called to tell me that none of the recalls affected my vehicle and they weren’t repairing anything. My gas tank also detached from my vehicle while driving and I knew that was covered. Over a week arguing and proving they are responsible to repair it. They repaired the gas tank and refused to look into the rest of recalls. I could’ve died and hurt many others driving by the loss of power steering traveling at that speed. Truck was fine then randomly loses full control. There are open recalls for my exact truck with this exact issue. The dealership refused to acknowledge any of it.
The power steering was intermittently not working at slower speeds. This went on for 4 months. Now the power steering has completely stopped working which happened while driving making it extremely difficult to control.
Component or system that failed or malfunctioned: The vehicle’s airbag restraint system failed to deploy during a severe single-vehicle crash. This includes the front airbags and any associated crash sensors. The vehicle is currently available for inspection upon request. How safety was put at risk: The failure of the airbag system significantly increased the risk of serious injury. Due to the airbags not deploying during a high-impact collision with a fixed object (tree), the driver sustained a serious head injury. Proper airbag deployment could have reduced or prevented the severity of the injury. Confirmation or reproduction of the problem: At this time, the issue has not yet been reproduced or formally confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Investigation is pending. Vehicle or component inspection: The accident has been documented by law enforcement and insurance representatives. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, but is available for inspection. Insurance evaluation is in progress. Warning lamps, messages, or prior symptoms: There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms indicating an airbag or restraint system malfunction prior to the accident. No airbag warning indicators were illuminated before the crash. If applicable: UNKNOWN whether any fault codes were present prior to the accident. Description of incident: The crash occurred at night in heavy fog conditions. While traveling around a curve, the driver encountered an oncoming vehicle in the opposite lane and took evasive action to avoid a collision. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The impact caused significant damage to the entire vehicle. Despite the severity of the collision, no airbags deployed. The driver sustained a serious head injury that may have been mitigated had the airbag system functioned as designed.
