Unknown. ABS not working. Cruise control not working.
I have a 2015 Ram 1500, the ABS module was diagnosed in June 2024 as needing to be replaced by a Dodge dealership. With this issue, my ABS does not work, and the traction control has been disabled by this issue also. At this time, the part is still unavailable for ordering. There is a recall on newer models of this vehicle that are having the same issue.
The contact owned a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while hauling a 2018 Jayco Hummingbird at 50 MPH, the "Low Voltage Battery" warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact immediately pulled over and exited the vehicle as white smoke began to emit from underneath the hood. The smoke quickly turned into flames as the contact attempted to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher. The contact used a total of three fire extinguishers in an attempt to extinguish the fire; however, the fire returned after each attempt. With the assistance of a fellow motorist, the contact managed to pour water over the entire engine which finally extinguished the fire. The authorities arrived at the scene and performed a thorough inspection of the vehicle to ensure that the fire was extinguished. A police report was filed. The contact suffered severe mental trauma as a result of the incident. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard but was later placed in the possession of the contact's insurance company. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was deemed a total loss as a result of the fire. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.
ABS module has failed and is affecting steering, transmission and speedometer. Truck is not driveable and dealer cannot obtain the needed ABS module. Manufacturer is not supplying them. Truck spent June and July on dealer lot but no repair is possible. Truck was towed to my home and is useless in current condition.
Service ABS Brake, Service Electronic Brake Throttle, Service Electronic Trailer Brake & Standard Brake dash lights are illuminated at all times. I have no Anti Lock Braking & Sway /Stability Control Light is on and I have No Stability nor anti sway control. This disrupts the Cruise Control from working. It has been confirmed by a local trusted mechanic shop. The Warning Lights have been on since June 2024. This is dangerous especially in rain and wet conditions. The truck has no traction control and fish tails at the slightest turn during acceleration.
ABS Control Module Fault, due to this the electronic breaking, traction control, cruise control and Anti-Lock Brake system is in fault. with this fault there is a possibility for the braking system to fully fail when operation the vehicle, along with a higher chance to lose control if a need for the traction control comes up. The vehicle has been looked at and was informed that the only part that needs to be changed out is the Control Module. The part needed are not available at any non-dealership location and all dealerships that have been contacted have the part on back order for months with said parts already waiting to go into a vehicle. I have been searching for the part needed since June 2024. This effects the 2014-2016 models of the Ram 1500.

When driving steering becomes stiff and almost uncontrollable. It happens intermittently however becoming more frequently and more stiff each time. No warning lamps or messages before, during or after it happens. When steering is stiff it makes it difficult to steer, like there is no power steering at all. It can be difficult to keep my truck in its correct lane while driving. This has been happening for several months now, I am not sure of specific date it started happening. Happens at various speeds between 35 and 65 MPH
Electric power steering rack module went bad. This is a known problem and can cause accidents.
My Ram 1500 Ecodiesel was reprogrammed by Henkle Auto dealership in Battle Creek Mi. It now has a dead fuel pedal when cold and will then lunge all at once. I also lost 4 mpg. I have contacted the dealer and Ram Chrysler, and they said that there is nothing they can do to undue an updated ECM program. My case number from Chrysler is [XXX]. This is a huge safety issue, and the dealer or Chrysler will fix the issue. Need help. Thank You INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The dealership and Ram are refusing to fix my fuel pump because it’s older than 2020. They are saying they’re doing it by newer to older vehicles. I’ve been tryin to get my truck fixed as the pump is making squeals and tapping. I’m afraid of the damage it’s causing my engine and don’t understand why they can’t fix it when they have the parts.
Steering is very hard all of a sudden
Tone wheel cracked, part available, at dealership currently very costly to fix
Vehicle driving at cruise speed (approximately 55 - 65 mph) on hard surface road. No warning or indicators displayed or observed when suddenly the oil pressure bottoms out, engine loses compression and very loud metal clunking sound while it stalls out. Oil blown all over wheels and tires, making it hard to get to shoulder. Cannot shift into neutral while running. All oil drains out on road and roadside and coats windscreen of car behind. . Towed to dealer. Dealer confirms motor blown but unable or unwilling to communicate what exactly failed. miles 61, 190. all service records up to date but dealer did not perform recall despite parts available. No prior indications, oil life 22% left, all fluids and tire pressures normal range. all records on file dealer. Quoting $20,000 for a new motor. Available for immediate inspection.
Failure of the tone wheel on a 2015 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel. W58 recall dated 2/2021 was performed. ( a software repair for a mechanical issue) W68 recall also dated 2/2021 refers to the replacement of the tone wheel in certain Ram 1500 trucks. On 2/26/2024 My vehicle would not start following a lack Of acceleration/hesitation the night before on the freeway with my daughter driving late at night by herself! I Had to have the high pressure fuel system, fuel rails and injectors replaced due to metal shavings found. (All under a separate recall that had just come out) The dealer also said the tone wheel needed replacement and was the source of the inability to start and the hesitation in acceleration that was encountered. Ram refuses to cover the tone wheel despite the knowledge they have regarding the delaminating of the tone wheel. Supposedly the W58, a software update) was to over ride the mechanical issue of a delaminating tone wheel. How can a software update repair an obvious and known mechanical issue? Why was my vehicle given a “band-aide” and not repaired correctly? Why is the NHTSB allowing Ram to band-aide a mechanical issue that could cause serious injuries due to loss of power or acceleration in a traffic scenario. It makes absolutely no sense. Please look at this issue regarding the band-aide fix and enforce the correct decision in W68 to replace the defective mechanical part of ALL affected vehicles allowing the many many owners that have suffered financially due to their ineptitude in fixing the problem correctly the first time! I have been in contact with several people representing RAM with no satisfaction. While various service people sympathize with me and completely understand my point, they are unable to cover the tone wheel repair. It is Very frustrating to deal with customer reps from RAM outside of the dealership who have zero mechanical knowledge.
Steering gets very stiff. Sometimes can not turn the wheel. Not good if it's moving in traffic.
The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH and attempting to accelerate while changing lanes, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and was unable to accelerate properly to keep up with the flow of traffic. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the tone ring, informing the contact that the magnetic material separated from the tone ring, resulting in poor vehicle timing and fuel injection. The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V475000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The VIN was included in the recall but had already been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 77,000.

Steering is partially failing. Hard to turn the steering wheel and can not turn as much.
Abs, traction and brake light all came on on dash. Part number 68228991AD needs to be set under a recall part as a safety concern.
Abs module has stopped communicating with computer . No brakes issue on thousands of these trucks
COMPLAINT/INCIDENT.On February 9th 2024, I was making a right hand turn onto main Street. My speed was under 10mph, closer to 5mph. . Without any warning or MIL, my truck suddenly went from easy steering to unable to move the steering column and jerked/locked the wheel by 90 degrees to the left. In other words, the steering wheel went from the 3:00 position and locked into place at the 12:00 position at the apex of the right turn. This put me on a path to driving into a 2story brick building. I was unable to accelerate and I was unable brake momentarily. The engine sputtered a few times; and that is when the MIL lit up on my dashboard stating “electronic power steering service” and “low battery voltage”. After the lights came on, the steering was brought back to normal along with the acceleration and my brakes. After the MIL displayed, steering resumed enough to pull into a parking spot. All of this occurred within 80ft from the apex of the corner to where the truck finally locked up. Total distance traveled 195 ft from start of turn to parked. The steering column and wheel completely locked up once in parking spot. I weigh about 230 lb and I could literally hang off the wheel without the wheel moving an inch.. At home, the power to the truck did not turn off like it normally would after 30 secs. The manual neutral transmission switch was pulled, which normally does not interfere with shutdown. After disengaging the truck powered off. However, I was unable to restart and only a clicking noise was heard. A battery booster jumpstarted successfully. No MIL on dash on startup. Surprisingly, the steering came back to normal. PART NUMBERS. The EPS numbers on the outside casing are P68242957AD and TIC2794A8134. Neither of these numbers have been listed in any of the documentation provided by the NHTSA on the power steering recall nor the reopened investigation.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V406000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, when the contact attempted to set a recall appointment the dealer refused to perform the recall due to excessive mileage on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power and the vehicle almost stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Electric Power steering it is now. I will try and keep it when repaired. The Truck would not turn with out using two hands and pulling and wasn't very responsive then. yes at an independent shop and at a dealer. No warning lights ever came on independent shop computer says working fine. Everything was fine and it quit working on a trip to the store. I'm glad my kid wasn't driving. I have drove old trucks without power assisted steering and had an idea how to get it to turn. Women and old people wouldn't be strong enough to turn it and would likely crash very dangerous. Mine obviously should have been recalled with the other 2015 models because it has failed just like them. I know this issue is still under investigation according to an article in August of 2023. This is a very dangerous situation when it happens my truck has only 113k on it. steering shouldn't ever fail at that low of use. These should be banned they are not safe.
Gas tank strap went through the frame. Gas tank fell off while driving down roadway. Dodge will not repair since the vehicle had come from Canada. No warning lights came on.
engine failure. Driving and heard a noise then oil pressure drops to zero psi and warning came one. Oil pressure would go back up during driving but during stop/idle would go back to zero. removal of oil filter and visual inspection showed metal particles. Oil was always changed ontime.
