EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKEN. MY TRUCK HAS ROUGHLY 46,000 MILES ON IT AND YESTERDAY UPON COLD START UP I HEARD AN EXHAUST LEAK COMING FROM THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I NOTICED AT LEAST ONE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLT HEAD BROKEN OFF, THERE MAY BE MORE AS I DIDN'T INVESTIGATE ANY FURTHER. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ON A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 100,000 MILES
HAD THE RECALL V08 DONE AND NOW MY TRUCK LAGS POWER AND TAKES FOREVER TO ACCELERATE WHEN TURNING INTO TRAFFIC. IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN IT IS COLDER. IT ALSO HAS LOST POWER WHEN I'M TOWING. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT WITH MY FAMILY IN IT.
RAM WITH ECODIESEL ENGINE AFTER APPROVED EMISSIONS MODIFICATION DUE TO EPA SETTLEMENT. WHEN ENGINE IS NOT FULLY WARMED UP THERE IS EXCESSIVE (3-5 SECONDS) DELAY IN THROTTLE RESPONSE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITTION AT ANY INTERSECTION. WHEN APPLYING THROTTLE TO ENTER AN INTERSECTION AFTER STOPPING, THE VEHICLE SLOWLY MOVES FORWARD INTO THE INTERSECTION WITH NO THROTTLE RESPONSE FOR 3-5 SECONDS CREATING A COLLISION HAZARD TO OCCUPANTS AS WELL AS OTHER VEHICLES
SAFETY RECALL H46 MY 2003 DODGE RAM WAS IDENTIFIED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC THAT THE STEERING LINKAGE IS CLOSE TO FAILURE AND RECOMMENDED I HAVE THE DEALER DO THE RECALL. I CALLED AUTO NATION IN DENVER AREA AND WAS TOLD THERE IS A NATIONWIDE SHORTAGE OF PARTS. THEY QUOTED NOVEMBER 2019 OR DECEMBER20 19 TO GET THE PARTS? SO I AM SUPPOSED TO DRIVE A KNOWN DEFECTIVE TRUCK FOR 2 MONTHS? IN THE DAY AND AGE OF OVERNIGHTING PARTS I DON'T THINK THIS IS AN ACCEPTABLE TIME FRAME?
EXTREME LAG ON ACCELERATION FROM A DEAD STOP. EXTREME LAG ON FREEWAY WHILE TRYING TO PASS OR MERGE. POST THE AEM EMISSIONS RECALL.
THIS 2016 3.0L ECO DIESEL IS A DEATH TRAP AFTER FCA REPROGRAMED THE SOFTWARE 2 MONTHS AGO. 2-4 SECOND HESITATION WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE GAS. THE TRUCK JUST SITS THERE AND DOES NOT MOVE. IN TWO MONTHS I HAVE HAD 3 CLOSE CALLS PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. EXTREMELY SCARY WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENS AND A CAR IS COMING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT YOU AT 55 MPH AND YOU'RE SECONDS FROM GETTING T-BONED. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE PEOPLE START DYING IN THIS DEATH TRAP. THE DIESEL HAD MANY PROBLEMS BEFORE THEY REPROGRAMED IT. SINCE NEW THE TRUCK HAS GONE INTO LIMP MODE 4 TIMES WHERE THE ENGINE LIGHTS COME ON AND THE MOTOR SHUTS DOWN TO ABOUT 10 MPG. LAST TIME I ALMOST GOT KILLED ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. YOU'RE STUCK ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 5-10 MPH TRYING TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY WHEN CARS ARE FLYING PAST YOU AT 70 MPH. THESE 3.0L DODGE ECO DIESELS ARE VERY, VERY, VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. AFTER THE REPROGRAMING FROM FCA THEY HAVE A VERY DANGEROUS TURBO LAG TIME. FCA HAS DONE NOTHING TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. THE REPROGRAMING OF THE SOFTWARE MADE THEM WORSE AND MORE DANGEROUS. BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY DESIGNED THIS ECO DIESEL, IT IS PRONE TO CATCH FIRE. ON MY TRUCK I HAD A FIRE UNDER THE HOOD AND A HOLE MELTED THROUGH THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. LUCKILY, THE TRUCK DID NOT BURST INTO FLAMES BUT IT WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR ALMOST 3 WEEKS BEING REPAIRED. THIS TRUCK IS VERY DANGEROUS AND THE TRUCK NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND IF FCA CAN'T FIX THEM, THEY NEED TO BUY THEM BACK AND GET THESE DEATH TRAPS OFF THE ROAD. SORRY, I CAN'T DESCRIBE JUST A SINGLE SPECIFIC INSTANCE, IT'S DANGEROUS EVERY TIME YOU GET BEHIND THE WHEEL. I WOULD LIKE TO MEET WITH THE PRESIDENT OF FCA AND HAVE HIM TAKE MY TRUCK FOR A DRIVE WITH HIS FAMILY IN IT AND THEN GIVE HIS OPINION AS TO THE QUALITY OF THIS ENGINE. I DO NOT ALLOW MY WIFE TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK AS IT'S A DEATH TRAP.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2106 RAM 1500 ECODIESEL IN 2016 FROM A DEALER. THERE WAS AN EMISSIONS RECALL FOR WHICH I TOOK TO THE DEALER AND HAD DONE ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURER. SINCE THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED I HAVE HAD A SERIOUS LAG IN ACCELERATION. THERE IS NOW A 3 TO 4 SECOND DELAY AT 3/4 THROTTLE BEFORE THE TRUCK TAKES OFF IN A LURCH. I ASKED THE DEALER HOW THIS CAN BE FIXED TO ACCELERATE AS BEFORE THE RECALL AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT UNDO THE COMPUTER CHANGES. I LIVE OFF A BUSY STREET AND TRYING TO FLOW INTO TRAFFIC IS A REAL CHALLENGE AND A SAFETY HAZARD. I'M AFRAID TO LEND MY TRUCK TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY HAZARD AND WANTED TO MAKE SURE A COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE FUEL TANK WOULD REACH HALF A TANK, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE WHICH THEN WOULD TURN INTO A LOW FUEL LIGHT ILLUMINATING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WOULD THEN IMMEDIATELY READ AS EMPTY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DOUGLAS JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE RAM (2382 S TAMIAMI TRAIL, VENICE, FL 34293) WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE FUEL SENSOR AND GAVE THE CONTACT AN ESTIMATE OF $800.00. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFER HIM NO ASSISTANCE; THEY REFERRED HIM TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
DODGE RAM 1500 2016 WITH 45,000 MILES. I WAS DRIVING WITH 3/4 TANK OF GAS BUT FUEL GAUGE SUDDENLY READ EMPTY, FUEL SENSOR FAILURE WARNING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON,LOW FUEL LIGHT ON. I HAD TO BRAKE IMMEDIATELY THINKING GASOLINE WAS LEAKING. IT WAS A DANGEROUS STOP AND I ALMOST GOT HIT BY OTHER CARS. LUCKILY I ONLY GOT MINOR SCRATCH WHEN TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I SEARCHED THROUGH INTERNET AND SURPRISINGLY THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SO COMMON SO MANY YEARS EVEN WITH NEW TRUCK MODELS. PLEASE MAKE IT A RECALL AND DON'T LET IT ROLL INTO THE NEW MODELS.
V08 RECALL FLASH HAS MADE MY TRUCK MORE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THERE IS AN EXTREME AMOUNT OF LAG FROM THE ENGINE AND TURBO WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I AM THE SECOND OWNER, BOUGHT ON 7/24/19 AND THE TRUCK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWICE ALREADY!
THIS VEHICLE HAS A 3.0 ECO DIESEL ENGINE. CHRYSLER HAD A RECALL TO UPDATE THIS ENGINE WHICH I HAD THEM DO. EVER SINCE THE UPDATE THERE HAS BEEN A LONG PAUSE AFTER PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR TILL THE ENGINE SPEEDS UP. THIS OFTEN TIMES RESULTS IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN PULLING OUT TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. WE LIVE NEAR A BUSY ROUND ABOUT AND WHEN PUSHING ON THE GAS TO ENTER, NOTHING HAPPENS SO YOU PUSH DOWN MORE, THEN ALL AT ONCE IT TAKES OFF LIKE A BULLET AND YOU HOPE YOU DON'T HIT SOMEBODY. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING TO CORRECT IT. I HAVE CALLED THE RECALL NUMBER AT RAM AND DIDN'T GET ANYWHERE THERE EITHER. THE DEALER SAID THEY GET A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS BUT THERE IS NO FIX. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
Good afternoon, I have filed multiple complaints regarding recall 22V-406 (11501200, 113003170). It has been over 1.5 years since the recall was issued and there is still not resolution. The NHTSA site mentions if there isn't a fix within a reasonable time, then to contact you again. 1.5 years does not seem reasonable when it comes to a safety hazard. The last update I received from NHTSA was letters will be mailed 12/14/23 and wanted to confirm this timing hasn't slipped. I NEED HELP WITH A SAFETY ISSUE AFTER RECALL V08 EPA & CARB EMISSIONS MODIFICATION. SINCE THE PROGRAM WAS UPDATED, I HAVE EXPERIENCED SEVERE HESITATION UPON ACCELERATION. THIS HESITATION IS SO SEVERE THAT I CANNOT SAFELY PULL INTO TRAFFIC WITHOUT RISKING AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER TWICE SINCE SEPTEMBER 2019 AND HAVE MADE NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO THE DEALER AND FCA. I WAS TOLD FROM THE DEALER THAT THE HESITATION IS VERY APPARENT, THAT FCA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AS IT IS WIDE SPREAD, AND FCA IS WORKING ON AN UPDATE TO THE PROGRAM. HOWEVER, THERE IS NOT A TIME FRAME FOR WHEN THERE WILL BE A FIX. AFTER NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO THE DEALER AND FCA WITH NO RESOLUTION, I SENT AN EMAIL TO REID BIGLAND, HEAD OF RAM BRAND, BUT HAVE HEARD NOTHING IN RESPONSE. CONSIDERING THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE HESITATION, AND THE POTENTIAL SAFETY RISKS, I FIND THE LACK OF URGENCY TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND NONCHALANT RESPONSES TO MY CONCERNS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. WILL YOU PLEASE HELP ME IN OBTAINING A RESOLUTION TO THIS SAFETY CONCERN? IF NEEDED, I CAN PROVIDE MY SERVICE RECORDS AND THE DETAILED LETTER THAT I SENT MR. BIGLAND
ECO DIESEL ENGINE WAS REPROGRAMMED BY RAM FOR AN EMISSIONS RECALL. ENGINE DOES NOT OPERATE LIKE IT DID BEFORE THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. WHEN COLD, THERE IS A NOTICEABLE ACCELERATION LAG. THIS PRESENTS A DANGER WHEN PULLING INTO ANY TYPE OF TRAFFIC. THE LAG WILL DISAPPEAR ONCE THE TRUCK HAS BEEN DRIVEN A BIT AND THE ENGINE WARMS UP. MILEAGE HAS ALSO BEEN DIMINISHED NOTICEABLY SINCE THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. I WOULD THINK THAT THE INTENDED EMISSION REDUCTION THAT WAS TARGETED BY THIS UPDATE HAS BEEN OFFSET BY AN INCREASED BURNING OF FUEL. I'M DISAPPOINTED. WOULD LOVE TO HAVE MY TRUCK BACK OPERATING AS BEFORE THE EMISSIONS UPDATE.
TODAY I DRIVE ON THE EXPRESS WAY ON HEAVY TRAFFIC MY PEDAL BRAKE GO TOO THE END NOTICE SOMETHING IS WRONG I GET OUT ON THE FIRST EXIT WITH CAUTION AND PARKING ON SAFE PLACE I LOOK UNDER MY TRUCK WAS DRIPPING SOME FLUID I CHECK THE BRAKE FLUID CONTAINER WAS ON MINIMUM SO I DRIVE CAREFULLY TO THE FIRST AUTO PARTS AND ADD MORE BRAKE FLUID AND STILL DRIPPING SO I FOLLOW THE THE BRAKE LINES RUNS NEXT TO THE HEADERS WAS LEAKING THERE LOOK LIKE HEAT MELT THE BRAKE LINES OR SOMETHING.
THIS VEHICLE IS A DEATH TRAP, I PURCHASED IT CERTIFIED USED FROM A RAM DEALER WITH 30K ON IT. IT RUNS AND DRIVES FINE BUT WHEN IT IS COLD AND OUT OF THE BLUE IT HAS COMPLETE DEAD PEDAL. THE TRUCK WILL NOT ACCELERATE, IT HAS ALMOST NO THROTTLE RESPONSE AND IT NOT SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL ITS WARM I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES, EVEN A SLOW UNDER POWERED MOPED WOULD SCOOT FASTER THAN THIS TRUCK WHEN ITS NOT UP TO OPERATING TEMP. THIS HAS ALL TAKEN PLACE AFTER THE EMISSIONS UPDATE DONE TO THE TRUCK BEFORE PREDELIVERY. I HAD NO IDEA IT WAS GOING TO DRIVE LIKE THIS I HAVE BANNED FAMILY AND FRIENDS FROM DRIVING IT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT DRIVES AS IT SHOULD "POST UPDATE" THE LACK OF PEDAL RESPONSE IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED. THERE ARE NO ENGINE CODES, DEALER SAYS ITS FINE AND HAS AN PERFECT MAINTENANCE HISTORY. TODAY IT WAS A BIT COOLER OUTSIDE THAN IT HAS BEEN IN RECENT MONTHS, KNOWING THE TRUCKS CHARACTERISTICS I USED REMOTE START TO WARM IT UP. IT RAN FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES BEFORE I LEFT, I DROVE DOWN ABOUT A 1000FT PRIVATE ROAD TO A 4 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY THAT I PULL OUT ONTO SEVERAL TIMES A DAY AND HAVE BEEN FOR TWO DECADES. NO CARS WERE COMING EXCEPT A WHITE MAZDA ABOUT TWO FIRELANES AWAY FROM ME SO MORE THAN ENOUGH ROOM, I COULD HAVE WALKED ACROSS THE ROAD. I PRESSED THE PEDAL AND THH TRUCK FELL ON ITS FACE AND TOPPED OUT AT 10 MPH UNTIL I MADE IT TO THE CENTER MEDIAN TO COMPLETE MY LEFT TURN. THE VEHICLE HAS TO MOVE INTO THE RIGHT LANE TO AVOID HITTING ME, THEY WERE BEING ABUNDANTLY CAUTIOUS BUT THIS IS NOT HOW A VEHICLE SHOULD RESPOND TO THROTTLE INPUT DURING WARM UP OR NOT. IT IS A DIESEL AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THEM MY WHOLE LIFE, I KNOW THEIR COLD BEHAVIOR AND THIS VEHICLE IS BROKEN. FCA SAYS ITS NORMAL.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, LOST POWER, THROTTLE CONTROL ERROR COMES ON, TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE, THERE ARE SMOKES OUT THE BACK OF THE TRUCK. I TOOK THE NEXT EXIT TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. DRIVING HOME FROM WORK 22 AUGUST 2019, AN 8 MILE DRIVE. I WENT TO ACCELERATE TO REACH POSTED SPEED LIMIT AFTER TURNING OFF OF A SIDE STREET ONTO MAIN ROAD. I HAD NO FORWARD MOMENTUM WHEN I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES TO MANUALLY SHIFT GEARS THINKING IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP TO RPM BUT STILL BARELY ANY FORWARD MOMENTUM. I WAS LOSING SPEED QUICKLY. SOMETHING GRABBED MY ATTENTION, NOT SURE IF I HEARD SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY BUT I HAPPENED TO LOOK OUT MY REVIEW AND SIDE MIRRORS AND NOTICE A HUGE PLUME OF SMOKE EXITING MY VEHICLE. AT ABOUT THAT SAME MOMENT, I NOTICED A LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT FROM THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS OFF, I STILL NOTICED A LARGE AMOUNT OF WHITE SMOKE BILLOWING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND FRONT WHEEL WELLS. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT TO BE A COOLANT HOSE RUPTURE DUE TO THE COLOR OF THE SMOKE/STEAM. I IMMEDIATELY JUMPED OUT AND OPENED THE HOOD THINKING IT WAS A COOLANT ISSUE. RIGHT AWAY I NOTICED A FLAME AT THE REAR OF THE ENGINE. I HAD NO ACCESS TO WATER WHERE I WAS LOCATED AND MY ONLY OPTION WAS TO BLOW IT OUT. IT WORKED FOR ME BUT PROBABLY ONLY BECAUSE I HAD GOT TO THE FIRE BEFORE IT WAS ABLE TO SPREAD TOO QUICK. FIRE/RESCUE WAS DISPATCHED, REMOVED ENGINE COVER AND NOTICED SMOLDERING PLASTIC/WIRE HARNESS AND DOUSED WITH 4-5 CUPS OF WATER UNTIL ALL TRACES OF FIRE WERE GONE. TOW TRUCK DELIVERED VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP APPROX 10 MILES FROM WHERE VEHICLE WAS DISABLED. *DT *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V757000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL GRINDING NOISE DETECTED FROM THE ENGINE AND THE LOW OIL PRESSURE AND ELECTRICAL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IN ADDITION, FLAMES WERE DETECTED UNDER THE HOOD PRIOR TO SMOKE BEING DETECTED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT SURE IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL TOW LOT AND THEN TOWED TO LITHIA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT OF EUREKA (4320 BROADWAY ST, EUREKA, CA 95503, 707) 382-3208). THE DEALER REFUSED TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE AND HAD IT TOWED BACK TO THE LOCAL TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY IN THE INSURANCE COMPANY'S POSSESSION WHERE IT WAS CONSIDERED A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY TAKEN TO LITHIA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM FIAT OF EUREKA (4320 BROADWAY ST, EUREKA, CA 95503, (707) 382-3208) DUE TO THE ENGINE STALLING. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULD NOT PROVE THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,600.
FIRST TIME PARKED WITH VEHICLE TURNED OFF AND WENT IN POST OFFICE GOT BACK IN TRUCK. IGNITION WOULD NOT TURN ON MADE A FUNNY SOUND AND LOW OIL PRESSURE CAME UP THEN LIGHT CAME ON, WAITED 10 MINUTES AND STARTED UP FINE. AROUND 2 WEEKS LATER DID IT WHILE DRIVING, HAD CRUISE SET AT 75, IN THE LEFT LANE PASSING 2 VEHICLES AND ENGINE SHUT OFF IT FLASHED LOW OIL PRESSURE, I COASTED TO RIGHT HAND SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY MADE CALLS AND WAITED 15 MINUTES AND IT RESTARTED. SCHEDULED AND MADE APPOINTMENT WITH RAM DEALERSHIP, AFTER CHECKING COMPUTER AND CHANGING OIL AND FILTER FOUND NOTHING. DEALERSHIP SAID SHOULD HAVE LEFT ERROR ON COMPUTER. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS BREAK OFF THE HEAD OF THE BOLT ON THE REAR CYLINDER ON EACH SIDE CAUSING AN EXHAUST LEAK BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE MANIFOLD ON THE 5.7L HEMI. THE DEALERSHIP SAID ITS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THOSE MOTORS BUT THERE IS NO RECALL.
DISPLAY SYSTEM, RADIO, NAV, REAR VIEW CAMERA, ECT. REAR VIEW CAMERA, SOMETIMES GOES ON WITH A SOLID GREEN SCREEN. THE RADIO SOMETIMES LOOSES IT PRESETS. THE NAV SOMETIMES WILL NOT TAKE AN ADDRESS. CHRYSLER STATES THERE IS AT LEAST 1 DOWNLOADABLE REPAIR BUT WANTS TO CHARGE FOR IT, APPROX. $125 AND IF THE DOWNLOAD DOES NOT WORK WORK AND IT MAKES THINGS WORSE, THEY STILL WANT THEIR MONEY FOR TRYING AND WILL NOT MAKE ANY REPAIRS.

ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL ERROR CODE DISPLAYED ON DASH INFO PANEL. DIAGNOSED AS EGR VALVE FAILURE. WITHIN 250 MILES AFTER REPAIRS, THE EGR VALVE FAILED AGAIN,
FRONT STEER TIRE BLOWOUT. DRIVING IN THE CITY. AFTER THE BLOWOUT, I HAD TO PUT ON THE TEMP SPARE. I NOTICED SOFT SPOTS ALL OVER THE TIRE. WHERE THE BLOWOUT HAPPENED WAS ALSO A SOFT SPOT. I WOULD NOT BE SO CONCERNED, BUT THESE TIRES HAD LESS THAN 26,000 MILES ON THEM AND WERE WHAT CAME FROM THE FACTORY WHEN I PURCHASED THE TRUCK BRAND NEW. THEY WERE MADE BY GOODYEAR. I WENT AND HAD ALL 4 TIRES REPLACED DUE TO THE SAFETY CONCERNS FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. LOOKING AT THE TIRES, THEY ARE SEVERELY UNDERRATED FOR THE RAM 1500 ECODIESEL.

AFTER THE AEM RECALL ON MY ECODIESEL THE ACCELERATION IS VERY SLUGGISH ESPECIALLY WHEN COLD. IT IS ENOUGH OF A PROBLEM/ CHANGE FROM THE ORIGINAL PERFORMANCE THAT PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC HAS BECOME DANGEROUS. THE TRUCK HAS A 3-5 SECOND DELAY BEFORE ADEQUATE POWER IS AVAILABLE REGARDLESS OF ACCELERATOR POSITION.
SUDDEN STOP AT 75 MPH IN FREEWAY. SAFETY HAZARD! MY 2016 DODGE RAM SUDDENLY STOPS RANDOMLY WHEN GOING AT 75 MPH. IT HAS CAUSED SEVERAL PEOPLE TO ALMOST SLAM INTO MY TRUCK. ONE MAN WAS SO ANGRY I PULLED OVER AND TOLD HIM I WAS SO SORRY. THE GUY SAID THERE WERE NO BRAKE LIGHTS SO IT WAS DANGEROUS!!! I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THEY TELL ME SINCE IT DOESN'T GIVE THEM A CODE, THEY CANNOT PINPOINT THE PROBLEM. THE MANAGER AT THE SANTA CRUZ, CA DEALERSHIP TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE WITH A SCANNER ATTACHED; IT HAPPENED TO THEM BUT NO CODE APPEARS! AFTER THEY CHANGED A PART, THEY GAVE IT BACK BUT IT IS STILL DOING IT. THEY ARE RELUCTANT TO DO ANYTHING ELSE BECAUSE RAM DOESN'T WANT TO COVER THE COST. THIS IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION FOR OUR FAMILY'S LIVELIHOOD AND RAM DOESN'T SEEM TO WANT TO BE BOTHERED WITH IT, BUT IT'S A SAFETY MATTER. THIS IS A DODGE MATTER THAT MUST BE RESOLVED BY THEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.
THE EPA REQUIRED UPDATE TO MY 2016 RAM 1500 ECO DIESEL HAS CAUSED TWO ISSUES AND THE FIRST IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF ECO DIESEL OWNERS. AFTER THE UPDATE TO THE EGR THE TRUCK HAS A COLD LAG IN TAKE OFF OF UP TO 7 SECONDS WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. THE SECOND ISSUE IS THE LOSS OF 4 MPG FUEL ECONOMY. WE THE OWNERS ARE REQUESTING THAT CHRYSLER RETURN THE VEHICLES BACK TO THE OLD PROGRAMMING UNTIL A FIX CAN BE DEVELOPED. I AM AFRAID SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED BEFORE THE ISSUE IS ADDRESSES. AFTER FCA COMPLETED THE EMISSIONS RECALL ON MY 2016 RAM THE TRUCK NOW DOES NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC. THIS IS CAUSED SEVERAL ISSUES WHEN TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC OR ONTO THE INTERSTATE. ALSO WHILE PULLING A TRAILER I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY INTO TRAFFIC OR TO THE HIGHWAY. DUE TO THIS WHILE PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC I HAVE BARELY AVOIDED SEVERAL WRECKS.
FUEL SENSOR FAILURE. THE SENDING UNIT WHICH MEASURES FUEL LEVEL FAILED WHILE IN MOTION. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE FUEL TANK HAD TO BE DROPPED TO REPLACE THE SENSOR. A QUICK SEARCH OF ONLINE FORUMS REVEALED MANY HAVE THIS ISSUE. WITHOUT KNOWING HOW MUCH FUEL IS IN THE TANK, ONE COULD BE LEFT STRANDED.
SINCE AN EMISSIONS RECALL MY TRUCK HAS HAD A DANGEROUS AMOUNT OF DEAD PEDAL LAG WHEN. FIRST STARTING TO DRIVE. THE TAILGATE LATCH AND BACKUP CAMERA. THE LATCH DOES NOT LOCK WITH THE KEY FOB OR KEY. AT THE TIME THIS OCCURRED THE BACKUP CAMERA STOPPED WORKING. WE NO LONGER CAN USE THE CAMERA. YOU CAN HEAR THE CLICKING SOUND WHEN TRYING TO REMOTE LOCK THE TAILGATE BUT IT FAILS TO LOCK.
I've been trying for over three years to obtain a repair for severe lag in acceleration in my 2016 Dodge Ram Eco Diesel. It's a critical safety hazard. A recall was issued June 2022, but Dodge continues to say a remedy is not available. Dodge has known about this issue for several years, and still does not have a fix? As I said in my first complaint submitted Jan 2020 (11300317), how many lives will continue to be put at risk because of this issue? Please help.

I HAD MY VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALER FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE SOME RECALLS. LONG STORY SHORT IS THE "RECALL" WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO FIX EMISSIONS ISSUES. AFTER THE RECALL WORK THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE IN DANGEROUSLY BAD. THERE IS A DELAY IN ACCELERATION THAT IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE KILLED. I DON'T DRIVE MY TRUCK VERY HARD SO I DIDN'T NOTICE IT AT FIRST, BUT I WENT TO MAKE A LEFT HANDED TURN AT A LIGHT AND WAS ALMOST HIT BECAUSE MY TRUCK DIDN'T PERFROM AND IT HAD IN THE PAST. THE LITERATURE I WAS GIVEN AFTER THE "RECALL" WORK WAS DONE SAY "THE AEM IS NOT EXPECTED TO CHANGE ANY OF YOUR KEY VEHICLE ATTRIBUTES, SUCH AS RELIABILITY, DRIVABILITY, VEHICHLE PERFORMANCE ETC." FALSE. AGAIN SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET THIS DONE AND BE IN AN ACIDENT WHEN THEIR TRUCK DOES PERFORM AS IT DID IN THE PAST. I NOW DRIVE THIS LIKE ITS A GUTLESS WONDER BUT SOMONE ELSE MIGHT NOT BE AS LUCKY. I REPORTED THIS TO CHRYSTLER AND HAD IT IN THE THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS "WORKING AS INTENDED". DANGEROUS.

I CAN PUSH THE GAS PETAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENS FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE THERE IS INCONSISTENT ENGINE PERFORMANCE THAT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

THIS WAS NOT AN ISSUE UNTIL AFTER THE EMISSIONS RECALL WAS CONDUCTED ON THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE AS THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY WITH THE ENGINE COOLANT UNDER 150 DEGREES F. AFTER THE TEMP REACHES 150 DEGREES F THE ISSUE SEEMS TO SUBSIDE AND GO AWAY.

THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TEST DRIVEN, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT DUPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,545.
ANOTHER RAM ECODIESEL POST-AEM SAFETY CONCERN. DID THE AEM RECALL AND INSTANTLY BECAME A SAFETY HAZARD IN TRAFFIC. EXTREME THROTTLE LAG OF 4+ SECONDS, EVEN IF FLOORING IT. TOO MANY CLOSE CALLS TO LIST MYSELF AND I DON'T LET ME WIFE DRIVE UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY (IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HER TRUCK!!). RECALL MAY BE MONETARY AND SUCH BUT THE ISSUE IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND WILL RESULT IN MUCH LARGER ISSUES. I'VE WORKED AS A RISK MANAGEMENT SAFETY OFFICER; THIS WILL LEAD TO A BIGGER PROBLEM. IT IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN MAKING LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS ON CITY STREETS OR WHEN MERGING INTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC, BECAUSE THERE IS LITTLE TO NO ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE, EVEN UNDER FULL THROTTLE FOR BETWEEN FOUR AND SEVEN SECONDS. THE LAG IS SEVERE EVEN AT FULL OPERATING TEMPERATURES ABOVE 200 DEGREES. THESE ISSUES WERE NOT PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE V08/AEM RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER HAS INSISTED THAT THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE AFTER THE V08 AEM RECALL, BUT THE VEHICLE OPERATED WITHOUT THESE ISSUES BEFORE THE WORK WAS COMPLETED.
