IN SLOWING DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 2-3MPH THE TRANSMISSION "JUMPS" BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. IT MATTERS NOT IF THE ENGINE IS COLD OR WARM. FEELS LIKE THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO FALL OUT OF THE TRUCK. ALSO, MIMICS THE REAR END OF THE TRUCK COMING FORWARD TO THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK. ALSO, WHEN CHANGING GEARS FROM A HIGHER SPEED TO LOW OR LOW TO HIGH, THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO GET "DUMB" AND NOT KNOW WHICH GEAR IT NEEDS TO BE IN. AFTER THE FEW SECONDS OF "CONFUSION" IT SEEMS TO CORRECT ITSELF AND GO TO THE GEAR IT NEEDS TO BE IN. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK IN MAY OF 2016. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND OF COURSE THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT.
PURCHASE NEW AT DEALER, PROBLEM WITH FORWARD MOVEMENTS AFTER FULL STOP. TAKE TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD TO WAIT, TRANSMISSION WOULD LEARN. NO IMPROVEMENTS, TAKE TO DEALER AGAIN ,THEY REDO SOFTWARE AND ADVICE TO DRIVE MINIMUM 700 MILES. NO IMPROVEMENTS AFTER 3000 MILES. WENT BACK TO DEALER, DROVE WITH TRANSMISSION MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THAT SOME RAM'S HAVE A PROBLEM AND THEY ARE WORKING ON NEW SOFTWARE.DECIDE TO WAIT FOR FIX. WITH ALMOST 31,000 MILES TAKE TO DEALER AGAIN. TRANSMISSION WAS CHECKED ( 9 DAYS AT DEALER SHOP ). FINAL RESULT, TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTING BETWEEN 2-1 THERE IS JERK FEELING ( NORMAL ). I DEMANDED THAT DEALER PUT ON WORKSHEET INVOICE THAT TRANSMISSION IS PUSHING TRUCK FORWARD AFTER FULL STOP ! DEALER DO NOT PUT THIS ON INVOICE. I HAVE A FORWARD MOVEMENT AFTER STOP ( LIKE SOMEBODY REAR ENDED ME , GET BUMPED TO ) AND NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT HARD DOWNSHIFTING. TIME TO TIME, THIS FORWARD MOVEMENT IS VERY "STRONG" AND IN RUSH HOURS DRIVING CLOSE TO OTHER CARS I CAN REALLY HIT CAR FRONT OF ME. AT EACH STOPPING, IS VERY UNPLEASANT FILLING. MUST APPLIED MORE PRESSURE AT BRAKES AT EACH TIME MAKING STOP. OWNED LOTS OF CARS IN MY LIFE AND NEVER HAVE ONE WHICH DID SIMILAR PROBLEMS EVEN AFTER HUNDREDS THOUSANDS MILES.
WITH ENGINE RUNNING IN MY DRIVEWAY. I PUT IT HE TRUCK IN PARK GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE STARTED MOVING FORWARD, RUNNING INTO MY GARAGE DOOR I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER SAID THEY SAW A PROBLEM AND WOULD NOT RELEASE THE TRUCK UNTIL CHRYSLER INVESTIGATE IT. THEY HAD THE TRUCK FOR A MONTH WHILE THEY INVESTIGATE IT. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. HOWEVER THEY DID DO A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE TRANSMISSION. THIS WAS ALL WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH THAT I HAD THE VEHICLE (BRAND-NEW ).
SINCE DATE OF PURCHASE THE STEERING WHEEL HAS SEEMED TO BE SLIGHTLY OFF.
2016 RAM REBEL HAS EXTREMELY DIM HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM. DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ON BACK ROADS.. HEADLIGHTS ARE PROJECTION TYPE AND I BELIEVE THEY AREOF POOR DESIGN.. CONTACTED RAM CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH NO RESULTS, OF COURSE!
PURCHASED VEHICLE APRIL 15, 2016. SINCE THIS TIME WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE OR PARK TO DRIVE TRANSMISSIONS SHUDDERS OR SLIPS BEFORE MOVING FORWARD. THIS NOW ALSO OCCURS IN WHEN SHIFTING TO REVERSE.ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS HAVE SHIFTED FROM PARK TO DRIVE. TRANSMISSION WILL NOT ENGAGE AND INDICATOR LIGHT ON GEAR SELECTOR SWITCH FLASHES. HAVE VIDEO. HAVE TO REPLACE TO PARK AND TURN OFF VEHICLE AND RESTART TO ENGAGE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE HAD THE CLIMATE CONTROL SWITCH SETTINGS ON ITS OWN. FROM AIR CONDITIONING TO HEAT. I HAVE HAD THE SPEEDOMETER SCREEN START FLASHING AT ME WHILE OPERATING ON THE HIGHWAY SPEED THAT FORWARD OR REAR PARK ASSIST IS NOT AVAILABLE. ELECTRIC SIDE VIEW MIRRORS HAVE FOLDED IN ON THEIR OWN WHILE OPERATING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ON TWO OCCASIONS WHILE IN PARK AND RUNNING THE VEHICLE HAS SHIFTED INTO REVERSE. ALL INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN WITNESSED BY INDEPENDENT WITNESSES. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP HAS WITNESSED SOME OF THESE INCIDENTS. FCA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND CAN'T SEEM TO FIX. THESE ARE ALL ONGOING ISSUES.
WHEN DRIVING IN ANY CONDITION, STREET OR FREEWAY LIGHTS FLICKER OR REMAIN OFF FOR 30-60 SECOND INTERVALS. THIS HAPPENS AT NIGHT AND WE HAVE HAD MUTIPLE CLOSE CALLS AND ONCE HIT A GUARD RAIL. WE HAVE CONTACTED OUR DEALERSHIP 2-3 TIMES IN PASO ROBLES CA AND WE ALSO NOTIFIED MORGAN HILL RAM WHEN THEY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR AN EXTENDED TIME PERIOD DUE TO THE ENGINE BLOWING UP UNDER WARRANTY. MY HUSBAND COMMUTES 150 MILES ONE WAY AND THIS IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE. NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE. I HAVE VIDEOS AVAILABLE VIA EMAIL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION. THE CONTACT COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO A COMPLETE STOP. AFTER WAITING APPROXIMATELY ONE MINUTE, THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE COMPUTER CODE INDICATED A HIGH SPEED COMMUNICATION BUS FAILURE. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND AN UPDATE WAS PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED THE SAME FAILURE TWICE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,300.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT CONDENSATION APPEARED ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND IMPAIRED VISION, WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE HEAD LIGHTS WERE REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
THURSDAY MORNING APRIL 14 I GOT INTO MY TRUCK TO GO TO WORK. PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND START THE ENGINE. TURNED THE TRANSMISSION ROTARY KNOB ON THE DASH TO R AND BACK OUT OF THE GARAGE. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING AND PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO GO TO P FOR PARK. AS I WAS GETTING OUT OF THE TRUCK AND TAKING MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE TRUCK STARTING MOVING FORWARD GOING BACK INTO THE GARAGE. IT PINNED ME BETWEEN THE INSIDE OF THE FRONT AND THE GARAGE DOOR OPENING. I WAS ABLE TO REACH FOR THE KNOB AGAIN TO PUT IT BACK INTO REVERSE. IT SMASHED THE LEFT FRONT DOOR IN AND TORE THE SIDE OF GARAGE DOOR OPENING. I HAD MAJOR BRUISING ON MY BODY. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING THIS VEHICLE DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I WANT TO BE REASSURED THAT THE VEHICLE IS SAFE BEFORE I DRIVE IT AGAIN. I HAVE BIG CONCERNS REGARDING THE ROTARY DESIGN FOR THE TRANSMISSION KNOB.
THE BRAKE BOOSTER IS BLEEDING DOWN; WHEN YOU PART THE VEHICLE FOR 24 HOURS, THE FIRST TIME YOU STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL THERE IS NO POWER ASSIST. ONCE THE ENGINE STARTS, THE BOOST WILL RETURN. THE DEALER STATES THAT THEY HAVE 4 OTHER VEHICLES ON THEIR LOT THAT HAVE THIS SAME CONDITION, SO THEY STATE THAT IT IS "NORMAL OPERATION". THIS ISN'T CONSISTENT BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER VEHICLES AS THE BOOSTER SHOULDN'T BLEED DOWN. I'M CONCERNED OF A LOSS OF POWER ASSISTED BRAKING.
A 2016 RAM 1500, WAS INVOLVED IN A ROLL OVER COLLISION. NO AIR BAGS WERE DEPLOYED DURING THE ROLL OVER EVENT. ADDITIONALLY THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE DID NOT RECORD PRE-CRASH DATA...UPDATED 10/26/16 *BF....UPDATED 02/02/17 *BF *CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO PRODUCE A FAULT CODE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPURCHASED BY THE MANUFACTURER, BUT THE FAILURE OCCURRED THREE TIMES IN THE REPLACEMENT VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR BRAKE LINE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 450.
PURCHASED VEHICLE FOLLOWING DAY I LOOK UNDER TRUCK AND NOTICE LOTS OF CORROSION THROUGHOUT DRIVE TRAIN. I TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT MONDAY 3 DAYS AFTER WE BOUGHT TRUCK AND DISTRICT SERVICE MANAGER WILL NOT FIX AND ITEMS. MY CONCERN IS CORROSION WILL LEAD TO COMPONENT FAILURE OVER TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED INACCURATE INFORMATION. THE DRIVER WAS UNAWARE OF THE AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE FUEL LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITH MORE THAN TEN GALLONS OF FUEL IN THE TANK. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. RECALL dated June 09, 2022 NHTSA Recall Number 22V-406 VIN: [XXX] 2016 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel . It has been over one year since I received the recall notification. The part is still unavailable. This is a high risk problem, as the safety risk is "fuel starvation which may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning." This is grossly unacceptable. This is the first of 2 RECALLS! I would like the manufacturer to BUY BACK this vehicle at a reasonable price. Dealer wants $7259.20 to repair 2 air bags Is this a recall item? Truck start leaning to one side and is lope sided. We noticed that there are recalls on other 2016 Rams 1500 trucks and now we are having this problem. We would appreciate your help. My Ram 1500 will randomly loose power while driving then pick back up, I have had several issues with electrical including lights flickering or going our for a minute then back on while driving at night, steering wheel controls not working, key fob issues, it also shifts hard at times others its normal. I was told all recalls have been done but personally can not confirm, had it looked at by several mechanics and cant find anything that they say would cause these issues.
Went to start my truck and it wouldnt start. Connected a jumper box to it to start it and started right up. Check engine light came on and showed "Code P1DF3". My safety was at risk due to not being able to get back home due to this issue. This fault has been reported by others with the ram 1500.
The drivers side seat belt is very difficult to latch.
