THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE FOULK ROAD AUTOMOTIVE CENTER ON FEBRUARY ART 15TH TO GET A TRANSMISSION REBUILD. UPON COMPLETION AND ROAD TEST THE CAR WAS DRIVEN AND THE ENGINE SEIZED UP DURING THE TEST RUN AFTER CORRECT PROGRAMMING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN FRACTURED ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO CAPITAL CHEVROLET OF COLUMBIA (111 NEWLAND RD, COLUMBIA, SC), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS INOPERABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON AN OFF RAMP, AND MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF. WHEN I TRIED TO START IT, IT MADE HORRIBLE NOISES AND WOULD NEVER STAY ON. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE SAID IT'S POSSIBLY THE TIMING CHAIN. THERE IS A RECALL OF TIMING CHAINS EXCEPT IT'S 120,000 MILES OR 10 YEARS, WHICH COMES FIRST. MY CAR HAS 128,000 MILES ON IT AND IS NOT ELIGIBLE BY 8,000 MILES!!!!! THIS CAR HAS ALREADY HAD TOO MANY PROBLEMS, NOW GM KNOWS THERE IS A TIMING CHAIN ISSUE, THEY SHOULD NOT LIMIT THE REPLACEMENT ON THIS OR ANY OTHER ITEM THAT THEY KNOW IS FAULTY OR WILL BE A PROBLEM FOR ALL 2007 SATURNS. *TR
TRACTION CONTROL ALERT WARNING ENGINE POWER REDUCED AND THE ENGINE TURNS OFF DISABLING THE VEHICLE THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS OTHER TIMES AND GM HAS HAD THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS MORE THAN 5 TIMES AND LAST TIME CHARGED OVER $2000 TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE WORK COMPLETELY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
IT JERKS REALLY HARD AROUND 50-60MPH ABOUT 10 TIMES A WEEK. ABOUT EVERY OTHER DAY, WITHIN THE FIRST QUARTER MILE FROM MY BEGINNING DESTINATION, AND BEFORE REACHING A SPEED OF 30MPH, MY 07 OUTLOOK JERKS REALLY HARD, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, AND IT WILL NOT SHIFT DOWN. *TR
1) CAR NO LONGER SHIFTS OUT OF FIRST GEAR (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). 2) CAR CONTINUES TO RUN FOR UP TO 30 SECONDS WHEN THE KEY IS REMOVED. DEALER STATES THAT A WATER LEAK BEGINNING AT THE SUNROOF LEAKS WATER ONTO THE FUSE AREA IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAUSING FAILURES REQUIRING A FUSE BOX REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD LEAKS LEAVING WATER ON THE HEADLINER, FRONT SEATS, FRONT DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER FLOORS IN THE PAST ALL REPAIRED BY THE DEALER UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER CHARGES SO FAR ARE $500 TO REPAIR THE LEAK, $500 TO REPLACE THE FUSEBOX, AND STILL NOT SURE ANY OF THOSE REPAIRS HAVE RESOLVED THE TWO INITIAL ISSUES. *TR
FOR THE 2007 SATURN OUTLOOK ( SIMILAR TO GM ARCADIA) DURING NORMAL RAIN OR WET ROAD CONDITIONS (NOTHING EXTREME) WATER FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL SPLASHES ONTO THE BELT AND DRIVE PULLEYS CAUSING THE BELT TO SLIP. THE SLIPPAGE RESULT IN LOSE OF POWER STEERING, POWER FROM GENERATOR ...... THIS HAS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AND WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT ON TO A ROAD WAY FROM A STOP. THIS HAPPENS DURING ALMOST EVERY WET DRIVING CONDITION. EXAMPLE: NORMAL RAIN AND WET ROAD CONDITION, WIFE AND CHILD ARE PULLING OUT ON TO 4 LANE DIVIDED HIGHWAY, THE BELT STARTS SLIPPING, SQUEALS, WARNING MESSAGES FLASH, THE OUTLOOK MAKES IT INTO THE LANE, BUT WITH OUT POWER STEERING MY WIFE HAD TO DRIVE STRAIGHTEN ACROSS BOTH LANES AND STOP IN THE GRASS MEDIAN. WHEN YOU PICTURE THIS INCIDENT, YOU HAVE TO PICTURE THE TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK AND OTHER VEHICLE APPROACHING. THEN MY WIFE AND CHILD ARE SOMEWHAT TRAPPED / STRANDED IN OUR SATURN OUTLOOK SITTING IN THE MEDIAN OF US70. SHE STOPPED THE ENGINE, AND AFTER A FEW RESTARTS THE SLIPPAGE STOPPED ENOUGH TO ALLOW HER TO DRIVE TO A NEAR-BY PARKING LOT. AFTER ALLOWING THE ENGINE TO RUN AND DOING SOME TEST CIRCLES IN THE PARKING LOT, THE EXTREME SLIPPAGE DID NOT RETURN. DURING HER DRIVE HOME, THE BELT DID OCCASIONALLY SLIP BUT NOT TO THE EXTREME OF LOSING ELECTRICAL POWER, COOLING, AND POWER STEERING. SINCE BEING SCARED IN THAT LIFE ENDANGERING SITUATION OF NOT BEING ABLE TO TURN THE VEHICLE WITH OTHER TRAFFIC APPROACHING, WE CONDUCTED A SIMPLE GOOGLE OR INTERNET SEARCH THAT SHOWED THAT OTHER SATURN OUTLOOK OWNERS HAVE REPORTED SIMILAR EVENTS - SOME RESULTING IN ACCIDENTS. *TR
