Transmission is failing. Reverse is slipping. Low torque trying back up inclines. Known problem with 2008 Acadia, Enclave, Traverse & Outlook per transmission shop who test drove and scanned. No code via dashboard, but scan tools and professional diagnostics verify failure. Techem has been replaced in February 2019, by GM service @ owners expense when forward drive failed.
This has been a big problem for all Saturn owners. The transmissions are always going out in them. This transmission is starting to slip. I’m surprised there is no recalls. Very disappointed.
Over this summer I went to start my truck and all the airbags pop out expect for the steering wheel air bag and dashboard air bag
airbag sensor on passenger seat stays off even when passenger is in seat. I have read many complaints from same vehicle since they were new. Also has electrical issues intermittently possibly from water leaking thru sunroof
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front windshield wiper failed to operate as needed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with windshield wiper motor failure. The contact was informed that the windshield wiper motor cover assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V609000 (Visibility) however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was 197,357.
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated while inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that all 4 tires had started cracking along the tread. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 15T002000 (Tires) however, the tires were not included. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 155,692.
Multiple time my vehicle became wet in the inside due to a sun roof drainage tube issue. My vehicle stopped while in motion and there was a burning smell. Now none of my windows will go up and the car no longer starts. I have a loud knocking sound coming from the dash when I turn the heater or AC on. Now my dash shows service theft deterrent system. The first time I thought maybe the tube was clogged. I now come to find out that is was/is a on going issue with GM. I could've lost my life or been possibly rear-ended at highway speed due to GM not knowing how to make a sunroof.
My low beam headlight started to intermittently go out for a while. Then it went out completely. I go to replace the bulb only to find that the bulb wasn’t the actual issue. The harness, wires, and socket to the bulb were blackened, burnt and melted. So now it all needs to be replaced. I’ve seen on several forums that has happened to so many people that have a car manufactured by GM. The original wiring is not quality enough for the heat and current that goes through there.

The contact pulled over however, the steering functionality did not return. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 138,000.
While driving. Lost power, steering locked up. Discontented and reconnected the battery. Problem cleared.
The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Outlook. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the airbag warning light illuminated and remained illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the MDS was not communicating with the airbags. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
WHEN IT RAINS WATER IS LEAKING INTO THE VEHICLE & THROUGHOUT THE 2 YEARS I'VE OWNED IT THE RAIN HAS LEAKED IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS DESPITE HAVING IT FIXED & CAUSES THE WIRING, LIGHTING & DETRIMENTAL/SAFETY SENSORS & ELECTRICAL PARTS TO BE DAMAGED. I BECAME ESPECIALLY WORRIED WHEN I LEARNED A FRIEND WITH A 2008 GMC ACADIA (IDENTICAL VEHICLE TO SATURN OUTLOOK) IS HAVING THE EXACT SAME WATER ISSUES. WITHIN A MONTH OR 2 OF HAVING THE LEAKING AND DAMAGED FIXED NEW SENSORS GET WET & ISSUES ARISE DUE TO LEAKING IN NEW/DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. I FIRST NOTICED IT LEAKING IN THE FRONT BY THE WINDOWS & SUNROOF & CAUSING THE RADIO SPEAKERS TO QUIT. WITHIN A SHORT WHILE AFTER FIXING IT THE HEADLIGHTS, TAIL LIGHTS & AIR CONDITIONING THEN STARTED CUTTING OUT & NOT WORKING. ONCE AGAIN I HAD THE ISSUE FIXED BUT NOW IT IS LEAKING IN THE DASH WHERE WATER CAN BE HEARD SLOSHING AROUND WHEN TURNING & OCCASIONALLY LEAKS INTO THE FRONT FLOOR BOARD. NOW THE 'STABILITRAK' & TRACTION CONTROL ARE ALL HAVING ISSUES AS WELL AS TRANSMISSION SENSORS MAKING MY CAR UNDRIVABLE AND UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM SECOND GEAR UNTIL THE CAR SITS IN THE SUN OR DRIES OUT FOR A FEW DAYS. THE SPEAKERS ARE ALSO NOT WORKING MAKING THE BACK UP CAM, AND EVEN THE WARNING DASH LIGHTS HAVE NO SOUND. ** AS MENTIONED BEFORE THERE ARE MANY ONLINE FORUMS THAT TALK ABOUT THIS LEAKING ISSUE IN BOTH THE SATURN OUTLOOK & GMC ACADIA'S. IT IS VERY WORRISOME THAT THINGS WILL SEEM TO WORK & SUDDENLY STOP WORKING DUE TO WATER LOG DAMAGE & WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT & HEADLIGHTS/TAIL LIGHTS FLICKER OR QUIT IT IS VERY SCARY & DANGEROUS. THE SERIOUS ISSUES WITH SENSORS (TRANSMISSION SENSORS & STABILITY) JUST BEGAN ON MY CAR RECENTLY & SINCE I'VE HAD THIS ISSUE FIXED SO MANY TIMES IT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.

ENGINE POWER REDUCED- THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHERE THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING, IN TOWN. MAIN WIRING HARNESS WAS REPAIRED THE FIRST TIME BECAUSE INSULATION WAS DETERIORATED AND WIRING WAS STUCK TOGETHER. LESS THAN TWO WEEKS LATER, ENGINE STOPS AGAIN WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN, WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF ROAD, CAR RESTARTED, TRYING TO GET HOME, CAR DIED AGAIN, WOULD NOT RESTART, TOWED TO AUTO SHOP AGAIN. AUTO REPAIR IS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, IT WILL RUN GREAT AND JUST RANDOMLY STOP RUNNING WHILE DRIVING, CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR ALMOST 2 WEEKS NOW. NOTHING IS CODING WHEN THEY RUN DIAGNOSTICS. THEY HAVE CHECKED EVERYTHING POSSIBLE! I AM HAVING THEM KEEP THE CAR UNTIL PROBLEM IS RESOLVED BECAUSE I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT AND END UP IN A WRECK. I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE THAT I WAS IN TOWN WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED, THAT I WAS IN TOWN AND MY GRANDKIDS WERE NOT IN THE CAR WITH ME! THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY RISK!!! WATER STARTED DRIPPING DOWN INTO THE GLOVEBOX, EVERY TIME IT RAINS IT GETS SOAKING WET AND THERE'S SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRICAL PANEL. *TR
I'VE HAD THIS CAR FOR A SHORT WHILE, I'VE CHECKED THE RECALLS ANTHEM THE SUN AN MOON ROOF ARE A PROBLEM. MY CAR GETS VERY WET ON THE ROOF LINER AND IT'S BECAUSE OF A LEAK PROBLEM, IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME IT RAINS. IS THERE A WAY TO GET THAT FIXED. I'M NOT SURE IF THE PREVIOUS OWNER DID THE RECALL OR NOT BUT FOR ALL I KNOW IS THAT IT ALWAYS LEAKS.
THE SUNROOF LEAKS WATER FROM THE DASH THE REAR CAUSING THE CEILING TO BE SOAKED AND MALFUNCTIONING OF SUNROOF WATER LEAKED ON FLOOR OF THE WHOLE CAR CANS SIDE REAR VIEWS CAUSES THE DASH ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TO GO OUT MOTOR BLOWERS IS FILLING UP WITH WATER SO AC/ HEATER CAN NOT DEFROST CAR SO VISIBILITY TO DRIVE CAR IT IS UNSAFE AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND VERY EXPENSIVE TO CONSTANTLY REPLACE A BLOWER THAT WILL CONSTANT FILL UP WITH WATER TO TO SUNROOF DRAINAGE CONSTANTLY CLOTTING AND WON'T DRAIN AND FLOORS FLOODING EVENTUALLY THIS WILL CAUSE CORROSION OR FIRE BEING WATER AND ELECTRICITY DON'T MIX WELL I HAVE 3 CHILDREN I DON'T FEEL WE ARE SAFE IN OUR VEHICLE THIS IS OUR ONLY FORM OF TRANSPORTATION THE SPEAKERS GO IN AND OUT DUE TO THE WATER LEAKED AND SOON COME WINTER CAR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO LEAKY DRIVE BEING MOTOR BLOWERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONSTANTLY BE PURCHASED DUE TO GOING OUT BECAUSE WATER BACK UP AND LEAKED AND THE CAR BECOMES DRENCHED IN WATER VIA SEATS AND FLOOR DRIVE SEAT IS ELECTRICAL EVENTUALLY WATER WILL CAUSE A PROBLEM I JUST WANT MY KIDS SAFE AND SECURE IN A VEHICLE AND AS I READ PREVIOUS PROBLEM SOME HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUES I'M GOING THROUGH AS OF RIGHT NOW. SOME RUNS ON MY LEG WHILE I'M DRIVING WHERE THE BRAKE PADS AND GAS PEDAL ARE WHICH HAVE WIRES THERE THAT ARE ELECTRICAL ON TOP OF THE FLOORS BEING SOAKED THAT'S A FIRE HAZARD
LEFT DRIVER DOOR MANUAL SWITCH CONTINUOUSLY MALFUNCTIONS , ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT GIVE POWER TO OPEN ANY WINDOWS , LOCK OR UNLOCK DOORS , AND ENABLES YOUR SAFETY IN DANGEROUS EXITS . LOCKS HAVE BEEN LOCKING WHEN I EXIT MY VEHICLE, LOCKING MY CHILDREN LOCKED INSIDE OF VEHICLE . REAR LIFT GATE WILL FALL ON YOUR HEAD SLOWLY AND INJURED MY FOREHEAD.
MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK XR LEAKS FROM THE ROOF/SUNROOF AND WHEN IT RAINS HARD IT HAS BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE GETS SOAKED AND DOWN BOTH SIDES OF THE TOP OF THE DOOR FRAME HEADLINER IS SOAKED AND ALSO MY FLOOR BOARD FROM BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE ARE ALWAYS WET
DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS AND PLUG HAVE MELTED AND I HAVE HAD REPLACED AND IT HAPPENS AGAIN. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON, SAYING SERVICE AIRBAGS NOW. ALL THE SPEAKERS IN THE CAR HAVE QUIT WORKING, BUT IF YOU OPEN AND CLOSE DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR THEY WILL WORK UNTIL YOU HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD.
RIGHT HEADLIGHT DOESN'T WORK. MECHANIC WENT TO REPLACE A PART AND THE WHOLE HARNESS WAS MELTED.
SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AT RANDOM. EVEN IF A PERSON IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SHOWS OFF. TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THE PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE NEEDS REPLACED AND WOULD COST ABOUT $800.00 TO REPAIR IT AND THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY IF WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH.

THE PASSENGER SERVICE AIR BAG STAYS ON THE DASHBOARD WHEN YOU START IT AND IT WON'T TURN OFF.
WHEN I FIRST GOT THE VEHICLE IN 2017 IT WAS ALWAYS PARKED IN THE GARAGE SO THE PROBLEM WASN'T NOTICED UNTIL I STOPPED USING THE GARAGE. WHEN IT RAINS A LOT WATER IS LEAKING THROUGH THE FRONT SUNROOF WHICH IS THEN DRAINING UNDERNEATH THE HOOD OF THE CAR IN THE ELECTRICAL AREA AND FINALLY LEAKING THROUGH THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARDS. IT CAUSED ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE OUTLOOK BECAUSE OF THE INITIAL SUNROOF 'CLOG'. ALSO THE CAR COULD BE DRIVEN BUT WHEN YOU TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT SHUT DOWN. I'VE SEEN MANY ISSUES OF THE SAME PROBLEM THAT OTHER OWNERS ARE HAVING AS WELL WITH THEIR OUTLOOKS. IF THE NUMBERS ARE THERE FROM PEOPLE COMPLAINING I'M NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY THIS HASN'T BEEN INVESTIGATED AND TURNED INTO A RECALL. WHAT STARTS AS A SUNROOF LEAK CAN EASILY AND QUICKLY LEAD TO THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS WORTH OF REPAIRS BECAUSE THE WATER IS LEAKING UNDER THE HOOD AREA.
POWER STEERING RANDOMLY GOES OUT AND RETURNS CAUSING JERKY LURCHING TURNS COUPLE YEARS NOW SINCE REACHING OVER 100K MILEAGE, HAVE 173K MILES CURRENTLY. IS NOW LEAKING FLUID. PCV VALVE REPLACED TWICE, NOT RECALLED BUT MECHANICS HAVE SAID IT'S COMMON FOR MY VEHICLE, CAUSES HESITATION WHILE IDLING LIKE IT'S TRYING TO STALL OUT. HAVE HAD TO PUT FOOT ON BRAKE AND REV GAS AT STOPLIGHTS. AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR YEARS, PASSENGER SIDE DOESN'T DETECT. ALTHOUGH RECALL, DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE DIAGNOSTIC FEES EVEN WHEN I HAD DONE FOR FREE AT LOCAL PARTS STORE AND GAVE THEM CODE, THEY SAY HAVE TO DO THEIR OWN. PASSENGER WINDOW DOES NOT ROLL DOWN, BUT DOES ROLL UP, WITH DRIVER'S SIDE CONTROLS, DOES WORK WITH PASSENGER SIDE CONTROLS. SOMETIMES DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW STICKS TOO EITHER UP/DOWN HAVE TO BANG ON DOOR FOR IT TO ENGAGE. SPEAKERS HAVEN'T WORKED PROPERLY IN YEARS EITHER.
HEADLIGHT BULB KEEPS BLOWING OUT AND SOMETIMES WHEN CHANGED COMES ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. HAVE CHANGED BULBS NUMEROUS TIMES BUT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. BULBS SEEM EXTREMELY HOT WHEN THEY BLOW. WE HAVE HAD IT REWIRED NUMEROUS TIMES BUT LOOKS LIKE WIRES FROM HARNESS ARE DIFFERENT GAUGES THAN REPLACEMENTS. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW WHEN I WILL BE WITHOUT A HEADLIGHT. THEY ARE DIM AND EVEN WHEN REPLACED BY SILVERSTAR ULTRA, THEY REMAIN DIMMER THAN MOST VEHICLES. I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I CAN SEE THEIR HEADLIGHTS MORE THAN MINE WHEN THEY ARE BEHIND ME. I CANNOT SEE THE ROAD HARDLY AT ALL WHEN DRIVING WITH ONE HEADLIGHT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND REPAIRED TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,000.
DEAR NHTSA, PLEASE FIRST REFER TO THIS KNOWN ISSUE: NHTSA ID NUMBER: 10126145 MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATION NUMBER: GCUS-9-2635 14404B ' SPECIAL COVERAGE.BULLETIN. THIS WAS AN OFFER FROM GM TO REPAIR THIS KNOWN DEFECT IF IT OCCURED EITHER BEFORE 120K MILES OR 10 YEARS. MY WIFE'S 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK IS USED FOR KID TRANSPORTATION AND LOCAL TRIPS MOSTLY SO SHE NEVER PUTS ON THAT MUCH MILEAGE. THIS VEHICLE WENT INTO SERVICE IN OR AROUND 10/2008. ON OR AROUND MARCH 1, 2019 HER OUTLOOK BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE ISSUES CONSISTENT WITH THIS GM TSB, FAILURE OF THE 35R WAVE PLATE, A KNOW ISSUE DOCUMENTED BY GM.THE THING WOULD JERK AND SHAKE IN REVERSE, WOULD EITHER FAIL TO SHIFT INTO 3RD OR 5TH OR IF IT DID, WHINE AND SHOW NO ACCELERATION IN THE LEAST. IT HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES, ON LOCAL ROADS AND ON THE HIGHWAY, VERY DANGEROUS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO OUR LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT, ONLY 67K MILES AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I ASKED THE SERVICE WRITER ABOUT HAVING THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRED RATHER THAN REPLACED. HE REALLY RECOMMENDED A FACTORY REBUILT UNIT. WE WERE LITERALLY 120 DAYS, 4 MONTHS OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY COVERAGE PERIOD ON THIS ISSUE. SATURN/GM WOULD NOT BUDGE AND TOLD ME THAT AT SOME POINT I HAD TO OWN THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE REPAIR! REALLY? ON A KNOW ISSUE THAT WAS OUTLINED IN THE TSB AS, "UPON FAILURE ONLY" SHOULD I BRING MY VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR. HOW IS THIS FAIR? I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I EXPECT FROM THE NHTSA, BUT TO SIMPLY KNOW THAT GM SHOULD HAVE HONORED THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT, IT WAS ONLY FOUR MONTHS PAST THE CUT OFF AND IT IS A KNOW ISSUE. ISSUES WITH MY OUTLOOK ALTERNATOR CAUGHT ENGINE ON FIRE, ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH STABILIZER/TRACKING CONTROLS, WINDOWS/MIRROR AND MAINLY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WHILE DRIVING AND TRANSMISSION SLIPS INTO LOW OR 2ND GEAR. I HAD TO PULL TO EMERGENCY LANE AND HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TWICE. DEALER STATES ITS AN ISSUE WITH OBD/OBI CODES AND CLEARS CODE. VEHICLE CONTINUES TO DO THIS ALMOST DAILY, WEEKLY. WATER LEAKS THROUGH SUNROOF, FRONT WINDOW GLASS, UNDER DASH ON FEET OF DRIVER AND PASSENGER; WATER LEAKS VIA DVD SYSTEM WHILE DRIVING AND STATIONARY. ALTERNATOR CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE DRIVING AND I COASTED INTO A DRIVEWAY AND LIFTED HOOD THE FLAMES STARTED, FIRE DEPT. CONTACTED IMMEDIATELY TO PUT OUT. DAMAGE TO VEHICLE WIRES, TUBES, ETC UNDER HOOD. PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WINDOW AND MIRROR WILL NOT PUSH OUT OF ROLL DOWN DUE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUE DRIVING AND STATIONARY. RECALL ON STRUTS FOR AUTO LIFT GATE, BUT REAL ISSUE IS MODULE TO LIFT LIFTGATE WAS A FEE TO BE REPAIRED. WHAT DID RECALL COVER WITH LIFT GATE? THESE ISSUES HAPPEN NO STOP SINCE 2012 WHEN VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED USED. I DROVE ON INTERSTATE AND AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, TRANSMISSION WENT TO LOW GEAR AND I ALMOST WAS HIT BECAUSE VEHICLE JERKED WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND POWER/SPEED INSTANTLY DROPPED.
TAKATA RECALL....WATER LEAKS INTO THE CAR BEHIND KICKER PANEL ON PASSENGER SIDE GOING DIRECTLY INTO THE FUSE/RELAY BOX. IT LEAKS IN ALL DOOR JAMS AND THE REAR LIFTGATE AREA. I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR NOT SHIFTING. THROWING CODE P2723 WHICH IS TRANSMISSON PRESSURE CONTROL SHIFT SOLENOID E. I BELIEVE ITS DUE TO WATER GETTING INTO THE FUSE BOX BECAUSE THERE IS A CONSTANT DRAIN ON MY BATTERY AND WHEN TESTING THE FUSES WITH A TEST LIGHT NOT ALL OF THEM SEEM TO BE GETTING A GOOD CONNECTION DUE TO ALL THE CORROSION. ALSO SUNROOF LEAKS. ALL DOOR CIRCUITS GET WET. I HAVE TO DRY EVRYTHING OUT BEFORE I CAN START IT. THE CARPET SMELLS AND ITS FULL OF RUST. COMMON SENSE WOULD TELL YOU THAT THIS CANNOT BE GOOD FROM ANY ASPECT. IM TO THE POINT TO GOING UP TO GM AND MAKING THEM LOOK REALLY BAD BECAUSE THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I CANNOT BELIEVE WITH SO MANY COMMON PROBLEMS THERE IS YET TO BE A RECALL. I HATE GM AND NEVER WILL I EVER PURCHASE ANY GM PRODUCT NOR WILL I HAVE ANYTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT GM. WHEN ALL THIS OCCURED MY CAR WAS OUTSIDE EITHER IN MY DRIVEWAY OR A PARKING LOT OR DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVR TO COVER THE CAR UP. THE ENTIRE CAR. I BOUGHT THE CAR SOMETIME LAST YEAR. I NOTICED THIS WAS HAPPENING ABOUT 4-5 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. IVE TRIED FIXING IT MYSELF AND I JUST FAIL EVERYTIME AND ITS RIDICULOUS.
IN 2015 I MY TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION. I TOOK IT TO THE GMC DEALERSHIP, WHICH I CAME OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE OF $1500.00 DUE TO THE EXPIRATION OF MY WARRANTY. THEN A YEAR LATER, I RECEIVED A NOTICE REGARDING REPAIRING THE TRANSMISSION AND I WAS GIVEN A REFUND (REPLACEMENT HAS BEEN ALREADY DONE). NOW AS OF DECEMBER, 2018, I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY TRANSMISSION. I CALLED GMC REGARDING MY TRANSMISSION AGAIN, AS WAS TOLD THAT THE WARRANTY OF THE LAST REPAIR HAS EXPIRED JUNE, 2018. WITH SO MUCH FRUSTRATION, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE GMC TO BE CERTAIN THAT THIS IS THE ISSUE I AM DEALING WITH. GMC ADVISED ME THE REPORT OF MY TRANSMISSION (THE TCC CONVERTER) IN THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD. THEY ADVISED ME TO GET A NEW TRANSMISSION FOR THE COST OF $4K WHICH IS WAY OUT OF MY RANGE. I ASK. IF THERE IS ANY ASSISTANCE TO HELP ME MAKE THIS REPAIR ON MY VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD NO. THIS LEAVES ME IN A POSITION OF FRUSTRATION WITH GMC WHERE AS THEY DID NOT WANT TO EXTEND ANY HELP. THIS IS WHY I WRITE THIS COMPLAINT TO INVESTIGATE IF OTHERS MAYBE EXPERIENCING THE SAME AND A RECALL CAN BE PUT INTO PLACE FOR REPAIRS FOR THE TRANSMISSION.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY, AND THE VEHICLE ACTED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL ALL OF A SUDDEN, AND SLOWED DOWN WHILE MAINTAINING HIGH RPMS AND WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 10 MPH. I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BEFORE BEING HIT BY TRAFFIC BEHIND ME. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HAVE IT CHECKED. A CODE WAS PUT OUT OF IT FOR THE SHIFT SOLENOID FOR GEARS 1-2 BEING 'STUCK ON'. AFTER HAVING THE FLUID CHANGED AS STATED FOR A POSSIBLE CAUSE, EVERYTHING RETURNED TO NORMAL AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. TODAY, ON 11/19/2018, I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AND HAD TO ATTEMPT TO MAKE A SAFE EXIT. THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH, AND AUTO MECHANICS, THIS ISSUE IS HAPPENING A LOT WITH THESE SPECIFIC VEHICLES, AS WELL AS SIMILAR MODELS FROM OTHER MAKES AND THERE HAS YET TO BE A RECALL. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE IN.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK JUST LOST POWER. I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. AS I WAS PULLING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THE POWER CAME BACK BUT THE ENGINE WAS REVING VERY HIGH AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I MANAGED TO GET ALMOST HOME WHEN THE GEAR GOT STUCK IN 1ST AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCELERATE HIGHER THAN 20 MPH. LUCKILY I WAS JUST ABOUT HOME. ONCE I ARRIVED AT MY HOME I TURNED OF THE TRUCK AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WAS FINE. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN BUT WAS GUESSING IT MAY BE A SPEED SENSOR IN THE TRANSMISSION. ERROR CODES: P0741 & P0700. I HAVE ALSO TAKEN THE TRUCK INTO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP FOR JERKING AROUND 30-35MPH. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

IN MY SATURN OUTLOOK. THE TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY. IVE TALKED TO MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUES WITH SATURN OUTLOOK. ALSO TALK TO SERVICE MANAGERS AT A COUPLE DIFFERENT GM DEALERSHIPS. TO WHICH THEY HAVE ALL SAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS THOSE VEHICLES ARE VERY BAD DESIGNED AND ARE NOT BUILT TO LAST. THEY HAVE REPLACED A BUNCH OF THESE TRANSMISSIONS. PROBLEM : STARTING OUT ON TAKE OFF. THE TRANSMISSION WILL HESITATE AND JERK THE CAR. POTENTIALLY PUTTING YOU AND OTHERS IN A BAD SITUATION IF THERE ARE OTHER VEHICLES. AND ONCE YOU ARE GOING IT WILL DO THE SAME THING. TO ME ITS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT GM SHOUPD ADDRESS AND FIX.
OH BOY...HERE GOES. I HAVE A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK FWD. FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A SPAN IF A FEW YEARS, WATER HAS LEAKED FROM THE SUNROOF AND INTO THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, FUSEBOXES, FLOORS, ETC. THIS IS THE INFAMOUS DRAINHOSE CLOGGING ISSUE THAT MANY MAY KNOW ABOUT. THE CAR NOW ONLY STARTS WHEN THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. THE STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED BUT I CAN SHIFT GEARS AND MOVE THE CAR BACKWARD AND FORWARD. I'VE CLEANED UP THE WATER, GRIME AND LITTLE LARVAE GROWING FROM THE WATER INTRUSION. ALL ELECTRONICS WORK CORRECTLY (EVEN THE BUTT WARMER 😊) WHAT I'VE TRIED SO FAR: -REPLACED THE IGNITION SWITCH. -REPLACED THE BATTERY -CHECKED ALL OF THE FUSES OF THE UNDERHOOD FUSEBOXES -CHECKED SEVERAL FUSES OF THE UNDER DASH FUSEBOX -THREW A TEMPER TANTRUM -CUT MY FINGER TRYING TO GET TO IMPOSSIBLY PLACED SCREWS -CHECKED FOR RECALLS. GM STILL DOES NOT SUPPORT AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE -PULLED THE CODES. THE RECENT ONES I'VE GOTTEN ARE: C0899, C0561, P0017, P0011 LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED, IT COST ME OVER $1500 TO REPLACE ALL OF THE FUSES/WIRING. I AM FRUSTRATED, YES. NO, I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX THIS YET AGAIN. BUT I AM MORE AMAZED AT HOW GM LEAVES THIS ISSUE WITH A TSB AND A GRAIN OF SALT, IN SPITE OF THE OVERWHELMING EVIDENCE OF THIS LONG OCCURRING PROBLEM. I AM LOOKING FOR ADVICE. MECHANICAL ADVICE. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON PUBLIC ROAD THE TRANSMISSION FAILED IN 3RD GEAR WITHOUT WARNING WHILE IN MOTION AND I WAS UNABLE TO GET VEHICLE TO SAFE PLACE OFF OF THE PUBLIC ROAD WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON A FREEWAY THE RESULT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN INJURY OR DEATH. VEHICLE TOWED TO REPAIR CENTER AS IT WOULD NOT MOVE UNDER ITS OWN POWER. REPAIR CENTER CONFIRMED THAT PARTIAL FORWARD GEARS WERE NOT OPERABLE AS WELL AS REVERSE GEAR. ISSUE WAS IDENTIFIED TO BE CONSISTENT WITH A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE PLATFORM WITH 6 SPEED TRANSMISSIONS OF A FRACTURED WAVE PLATE. REPAIR CENTER REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND VEHICLE CURRENTLY WORKING FINE FOR LAST 6000 MILES. AT THE TIME OF THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE THE VEHICLE HAD JUST OVER 122,000 MILES ON IT AND HAD BEEN IN SERVICE FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS AND 2 MONTHS
AFTER PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND PUTTING MY CAR IN PARK, I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TOOK THE KEY OUT OF IGNITION. AS I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE, THE CAR IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS AND I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES. I ALMOST HIT MY SON WHO HAD ALREADY EXITED THE VEHICLE. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR BUT IT WOULD NOT START. THE CAR APPEARED TO BE IN PARK BUT WOULD ROLL BACK AS SOON AS I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. I COULD REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE DOOR LOCKS DID NOT UNLOCK AUTOMATICALLY AS THEY USUALLY DO. I ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO KEEP THE CAR FROM ROLLING. THE SHIFT CABLE NEEDED REPLACED DUE TO A FRACTURE OF THE LOCKING TABS. THERE HAS BEEN A SIMILAR RECALL FOR DIFFERENT YEARS AND MODELS SEE GM RECALL NO. 12106
MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK HAS UNDER 100K MILES AND WHEN I AM AT VERY SLOW SPEEDS, TRYING TO TURN THE WHEEL IT LOSES ALL POWER STEERING AND MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE WHEEL. MY VEHICLE STAYS ON WHEN THE KEY IS OUT OF THE IGNITION. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS ASAP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 93,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE NOT AVAILABLE.
