WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON THE FREEWAY IN THE CARPOOL LANE, GOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MILES PER HOUR, ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD THE ENGINES RPMS SOUNDING LOUDER THAN SUPPOSED TO BE. I LOOKED DOWN AT MY DASHBOARD AND THEY WERE AT 7000 RPM. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FELT LIKE IT WAS NO LONGER ACCELERATING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. PREVIOUS TO THIS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD NEVER COME ON. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND DEPRESSED IT AGAIN AND ONLY THE RPMS WENT UP AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT ACCELERATE. AT THIS POINT, I REALIZED I HAD NO ACCELERATION PEDAL CONTROL, WHILE IN THE CARPOOL LANE, SO AS SO AS SAFELY POSSIBLE, I MERGED OVER TO THE FREEWAY SHOULDER. I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE SHOULDER, THEN BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AND REALIZED THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY GO AS FAST AS 20MPHS BEFORE TAKING THE RPMS OVER 5000. I COMPLETELY STOPPED THE VEHICLE AGAIN ON THE SHOULDER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO MOVE IT AGAIN. AND WAS MET WITH THE SAME RESPONSE. I REALIZED, AT THIS POINT, THE TRANSMISSION IS THE PROBLEM. I SHIFTED THROUGH EACH GEAR TO SEE IF I HAD THEM, PARK REVERSE NEUTRAL DRIVE, AND I HAD THEM. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE ON THE SHOULDER AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT PAST 2ND GEAR AND I COULD NOT COMFORTABLY DRIVE FASTER THAN 41MPH. I HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED 75 MILES BACK TO MY HOME.
I HAVE REPLACE LIGHT BULBS IN THE HEADLIGHTS AND IT WILL WORK TO SECONDS THAN GO OUT AGAIN I DON'T WHAT THE ISSUE IS I BOUGHT THE 6 DIFFERENCE BULBS IT'S STILL NOT WORKING
TOOK TO GET MY VEHICLE SCANNED AND GOT THE CODE B0074 FOR THE SECOND ROW MIDDLE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER. I WAS LOOKING UP ANY RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE AND BACK IN JUNE 2014 THERE WAS A RECALL FOR PRETENSIONERS. BUT WHEN I CALLED A DEALER THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE.
VEHICLE STALLS RANDOMLY. EVERYTHING ELSE STAYS ON EXCEPT ENGINE. IT HAPPENS AT LOW SPEEDS HIGH SPEEDS BACKING UP. IT HAPPENED TO MY FIANCE ON THE FREEWAY AND ALSO HAD A NO CRANK NO START SITUATION. SHE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO A LOT OF PEOPLE IF YOU SEARCH THE WEB. A LOT OF VETS OF THIS TYPE FROM GM. THE GMC ACADIA CHEVY TRAVERSE AND MORE FROM MY SAME YEAR. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR A WEEK AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG. I'M CONCERNED FOR OTHER PEOPLE THAT OWN THESE CARS. I PUR HASED THIS SUV FROM.ALLMANS IN MARTINSBURG WV EARLY MARCH OF 2018. MY SERVICE AIRBAG STABIL BRAKES ALL LIGHT COME ON. MY AXLES ARE READY SNAP. WHILE IM DRIVI G MY CAR DASH LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND MY CAR WILL SLOW DOWN AUTOMATICALLY
HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY TRANSMISSION IT WILL NOT SHIFT IT IS TANKING MY RPM'S PAST 6 THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS BUT I CAN'T FINE IT.
I HAVE 1 REAR BRAKE GOING OUT. THE WINDSHIELD LEAKS LIKE A SIEVE. I HAVE A LEAK SOMEWHERE NEAR MY RADIATOR. AND I'M TOLD THE CHIP IN MY TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT ON ME. I HAVE MY DASH BOARD SCREECHING BLOODY MURDER AT ME AND MY EARS SWELL AND I LOOK LIKE I HAVE THE MUMPS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE LOT I'M BUYING FROM AND THEY SHRUG AND SAY OH WELL. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I RARELY IF EVER GO ON THE FREEWAY. I PARK OFF THE STREET. I USE THE ALARM SYSTEM RELIGIOUSLY. AND IT'S OVER HEATING WHERE THE BATTERY IS.
THE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS HAVE STOPPED WORKING. MY WIFE NORMALLY DRIVES THIS VEHICLE AND TOLD ME ABOUT IT THIS WEEK. I UNDERSTAND THE HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS ARE TOO SMALL AND NEED TO CHANGED OUT TO A BIGGER GAUGE WIRE.
THE TRUCK ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND A FIRE STARTED. I GOT EVERYONE OUT AND THE FIRE BLEW UP AND EVERYTHING BURNED DOWN TO THE BODY. WE HAD IT TOWED BY POLICE TO PREVENT A FURTHER FIRE. IT LOOKS LIKE IT STARTED NEAR THE BATTERY IN THE BACK OF THE TRUCK . I HAD NO PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING . IT JUST ALL OF THE SUDDEN CAUGHT ON FIRE.
THE LIGHT FOR SERVICE AIR BAGS COMES ON AND THEN GOES OFF. I'M NOT SURE IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE OR NOT. BUT IF SO THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. DURING RAINY WEATHER, WATER LEAKED INSIDE THE VEHICLE AROUND THE FLOORBOARD, DOME LIGHT, AND THE FUSE BOX. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE VIA EMAIL (CORPORATE@GM.COM). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000.
"TAKATA RECALL" FRONT HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS HAS MELTED AT THE PLUG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM. DONE RESEARCH AND IT IS TO SMALL OF A WIRING HARNESS. I HAVE CHANGED THIS HEADLIGHT 2 TIMES PRIOR TO THE HARNESS MELTING.
PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT SUFFERS FROM INTERMITTENT OPERATION EVEN AFTER REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT BULB WITH A NEW BULB. WHEN IT DOES WORK, THE HEADLIGHT ONLY ILLUMINATES ON THE AUTO SETTING. IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL IF I TRY TO MANUALLY TURN ON THE HEADLIGHTS. I CANNOT FIND A RECORD OF A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ON MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE BASED ON A VIN NUMBER SEARCH, BUT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR LIGHTING ISSUES ON OTHER OUTLOOK MODELS. AS OF 10/29/2017, THE PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT HAS STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR APPROXIMATELY 60 DAYS
AIRBAGS LIGHT HAS BEEN STAY ON FOR A WHOLE YEAR SINCE WE BOUGHT IT IN AUGUST 2017 AND WE COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT WHY IT STAYS ON. BRAKES LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF AND WE HAD THE BRAKES SHECKED AND EVERYTHING IS FINE. STABILITY TRASK LIGHT KEEPS TURNING ON AND OFF. WHY??
I PURCHASED A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK NEW AT MILES. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR HAD DIFFICULTIES RIGHT OFF THE BAT.SOMETHING WITH WHERE MY KIDS WERE SITTING IN THE SEAT (TEENS). THE SENSOR WOULD GO ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER SOME TIME, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN A FEW MONTHS AGO AND THEY SAID I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SENSOR FOR ABOUT $1,200. I WAS UNABLE TO DO THAT (ALSO THINKING THAT IT WOULD FAIL AGAIN). SO, WE ARE DRIVING AROUND WITH WHAT APPEARS IS NO PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. THERE HAVE BEEN VARIOUS SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THE AIRBAG ISSUE AND NUMEROUS ONLINE COMPLAINTS. I THINK THAT THIS WARRANTS A RECALL.
MY SATURN 2008 ENGINE LIGHT IS FLASHING AND MY SUV IS RUNNING BAD, MY AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT IS ON AND MY TRACTION LIGHT IS ALSO ON.
WE KEPT GETTING A SERVICE AIRBAG WARNING, TOOK IT TO A SATURN CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE PASSENGER SENSOR IN THE SEAT IS BAD AND COULD PREVENT THE AIRBAG FROM INFLATING IN THE EVENT OF AN IMPACT. WONDERING WHY SINCE HE SAID THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL. ALSO, THE AUXILIARY AMPLIFIER WENT BAD... HE THINKS THIS IS FROM A LEAK, AND THE WAY THE WIRING HARNESS WAS DONE APPARENTLY WATER GETS INTO IT AND SHORTS THE AMP. ANOTHER KNOWN PROBLEM HE SAID... UNFORTUNATELY, ALL WARNING/SAFETY CHIMES DO NOT SOUND BECAUSE OF THIS AND ALL THE SPEAKERS DON'T WORK EXCEPT FOR THE FRONT TWEETERS.
I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES SINCE DAY ONE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AT 40K MILES THEY ONLY REBUILT SO HAVE HAD ISSUES EVER SINCE STILL HAVING ISSUES EVER SINCE MAJOR ELECTRICAL DASHBOARD GOES DARK WHEN DRIVING FLASHES AFTER IT RAINS I LOOSE POWER STEERING WHEN DRIVING FOR LITERALLY A MINUTE SUNROOF LEAKS THROUGH AIRBAGS SERVICE HAS BEEN CHECKING FOR OVER 3 YEARS NOW OTHER ISSUES I HAD PRIOR TO YOUR EXTENDED WARRANTIES HOWEVER NO IM OVER THE 120K MILE LIMIT THIS VEHICLE HAS CONTINUAL DANGEROUS ISSUES AND NOW THAT YOU NO LONGER MANUFACTURER I FEEL GMAC DOESN'T CARE AND THE COST TO FIX WHEN REPAIS ARE NEEDED ARE OUTRAGEOUS I AM NOW AT 200K MILES HOWEVER THIS ALL STARTED FROM THE BEGINNING THROUGH WARRANTY AND WITH THE BULK ONCE WARRANTY EXPIRED THIS IS A DANGEROUS VEHICLE THE STEERING AND ELECTRICAL ALONE
THE SPEAKERS IN WILL RANDOMLY STOP WORKING. MOST OF THE TIME MOST OF THE SPEAKERS WORK, BUT OFTEN THE ONLY SPEAKERS WORKING WILL BE BOTH IN THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THE TWEETER IN THE PASSENGER DOOR, ALL OTHER SPEAKERS ARE DEAD. SOMETIMES WHEN I HIT A BUMP SOME SPEAKERS WILL START WORKING THEN FAIL AGAIN.
THERE IS A LEAK IN BOTH CORNERS OF THE SUNROOF ALLOWING WATER TO LEAK DOWN INTO THE CONSOLE AFFECTING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE AIRBAGS. THERE ARE DRAIN HOLES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE SUN ROOF BUT THE WATER DOSENT GO DOWN. THE WATER DAMAGED SEVERAL WIRES UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT AND IT ALSO DAMAGED THE FUEL BOX. I DID NOT KNOW THIS UNTIL I STARTED THE CAR AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOORAND UNDER GLOVE BOX. I TOOK IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP WHERE HE SHOWED ME THE BURNED FUSE BOX AND ALSO A PUDDLE OF WATER UNDERNEATH THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE WIRES UNDER THE SEAT WERE ALSO BURNED . THIS CAR HAS A DEFECT IN THE SUNROOF ALLOWING WATER TO DRAIN INTO THE CONSOL ONTO WIRES AND THEY CATCH FIRE.
BOUGHT FROM STERLING MOTORS IN WATERTOWN SD, IN 2017. TRADE IN WAS 2000, PLUS 500 DOLLARS CASH, FOR A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK XR AWD. LOAN WAS FOR 10000 AFTER THE 2500 TRADE/PAYMENT. HAD 160000 MILES NOW HAS 180000. WITHIN LESS OF A WEEK CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, STABILITRAC, SERVICE AIR BAG, TIMING CHAIN, TRACTION CONTROL ALL CAME ON. AS OF 2018 WE HAVE REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES, BRAKES. STRUTS, ROTORS, TIE RODS, BATTERY, CO2 SENSOR, THERMOSTAT, AND A FEW OTHER THINGS. IT STILL NEEDS POWER STEERING PUMP, TIMING CHAIN FIX, CV JOINTS REPLACED AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE. I'VE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND HE TOLD ME I CAN NOT TRADE BACK, AND WHEN WE BOUGHT IT HE SAID IT PASSED THE SUSPECTION TEST AND CLAIMED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. HE HAD TO TOP OF THE POWER STEERING FLUID AS IT WAS WHINING AND LOW, SAID THAT IT WAS BECAUSE THEY FLUSHED IT. SO NOW UPON TURNING IT HAS THIS WEIRD RUBBING VIBRATION AND LOUD SOUND, IT SHAKES AT ALL SPEEDS, IT LOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING STUTTERS AT LOW SPEEDS, PASSENGER WINDOW BUTTON DON'T WORK, LOUD NOISES WHEN IDLING, WHINING NOISE FROM POWER STEERING EITHER JUST FROM STATIONARY OR DRIVING. IT TAKES FOREVER TO PASS SOMEONE AS IT ALMOST STALLS WITH THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. IT HAS A WEIRD CHEMICAL SMELL WHEN USING HEATER. THIS SATURN OUTLOOK IS UNRELIABLE, VERY UNSAFE EVEN AFTER FIXING WHAT I HAD ALREADY FIXED. I HAVE AN INVOICE FOR THE REPAIRS FROM WATERTOWN FORD DEALERSHIP IN SOUTH DAKOTA. STERLING MOTORS WILL NOT HELP, SAID THEY COULD FIX BUT I HAVE TO PAY FOR PARTS AND WORK. HE SOLD ME A LEMON AND HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE SAFETY OR WELLBEING OF ME, MY CHILDREN OR OTHERS ON THE ROAD. TALK TO THE LOAN PLACE AND ALL THEY SAID IS I HAVE AN AGREEMENT TO PAY REGARDLESS IF THE CAR WORKS OR NOT. I'M CURRENTLY 2 MONTHS BEHIND. I CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER 700-3000 FIX WHILE PAYING 300 A MONTH FOR A SUV THAT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION INTERMITTENTLY WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF GEAR AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KOOL CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (810 W CHICAGO RD, STURGIS, MI) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SENSOR IN THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER REGARDING THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 154,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE GO OUT AT THE DROP OF A HAT WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A VERY BIG SAFETY HAZARD FOR MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS.PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BUT I AM GOING TO PUT THE MOST RECENT DATE.
LOW BEAN HEADLIGHTS ARE GETTING SO HOT THEY STARTED MELTING THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING.
APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR AFTER THE RECALL ON THE STRUTS FOR MY TAIL GATE WAS FIXED, THE SAME PROBLEM AROSE. MY TAILGATE WILL NOT OPEN BY ITSELF NOR WILL IT CLOSE BY ITSELF. I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE AUTO CONTROL AND USE IT MANUALLY WHICH I AM UNABLE TO DO MOST OF THE TIME BECAUSE IT WILL POP OPEN A FEW INCHES AND NOT OPEN ANY FURTHER. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BEFORE THE RECALL WAS FIXED. IT WORKED FINE FOR AWHILE AFTER THAT BUT SOON STOPPED.
THERE WAS RECALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT AIRBAG THE DEALER SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IT BUT THE CODE IS BACK ON #B0081 CALLED DEALER THEY SAID OH WELL THE RECALL WAS FIXED WELL IF IT WAS THE CODE SHOULD NOT BE BACK ON FOR THE SAME THING. ALSO THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSON TOOK IT SEVERAL TIMES TO DEALER SAID NOTHING WRONG THEN FINALLY THE SOLINEDS WENT OUT REPLACED THEM 1 MONTH LATER THE WHOLE TRANSMISON WENT THIS WAS ON A GM RECALL AND I FEEL BECAUSE I HAD COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THAT GM SHOULD REIMBURSE ME THE $5000 WE HAD TO PAY TO GET A NEW TRANSMISON. THE TRANSMISON WENT OUT WHILE ON THE FREEWAY AND THE AIRBAG HAS BEEN ON WONT GO OFF.
IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT 3 TIMES. IT WENT OUT AGAIN A FEW WEEKS AGO AND I COULDN'T FIND ANYONE TO REPLACE IT FOR ME AT THAT TIME SO I HAD TO DRIVE IT WITHOUT THE LOW BEAM UNTIL TODAY. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY A MECHANIC FEE TO HAVE IT DONE AND CANNOT DO IT MYSELF. A FRIEND OF MINE SAID HE COULD FIX IT TODAY SO THAT I COULD GO GET THE VEHICLE INSPECTED. ONCE HE WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE BULB AND BEGAN TO TRY TO GET IT OUT THE LIGHT CAME ON. WE WERE SURPRISED BUT DECIDED TO REPLACE IT WITH THE NEW ONE ANYWAY. SO ONCE THE NEW BULB WAS IN I DROVE IT TO A NEARBY INSPECTION SIGHT TO GET THE INSPECTION DONE. I PASSED INSPECTION AND CONTINUED ABOUT MY DAY. WHEN LEAVING WORK TONIGHT I REALIZED THAT THE HEADLIGHT IS OUT AGAIN. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY FOR COSTLY REPAIRS OR TICKETS OVER THIS MATTER AND DON'T FEEL THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO IF THERE IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT IN THE HEADLIGHTS OR RELATED ITEMS. CHANGING THE LIGHT BULB IS CHALLENGING AND ESPECIALLY FRUSTRATING WHEN IT GOES OUT THE DAY IT WAS CHANGED. *TR
EVERY TIME IT RAINS MY CAR GET A LARGE AMOUNT OF WATER INSIDE CAUSING A MUSTY SMELL AND POSSIBLE MOLD. I HAVE TO VACUUM WATER FROM THE BATTERY AREA, IN THE TRUNK LIFT IT UP AND VACUUM OUT AND LEAVE IT TO DRY OUT IN SUN WHEN AVAILABLE. IT CAUSES MY SEAT BELTS TO BECOME WET. THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE FLOOR IS WET AS WELL AS THE BACK SEAT AREA FLOOR. IT CAUSE THE WINDOWS TO CONTINUALLY FOG UP AND THE DEFROSTER DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. WHEN I PRESS THE GAS THERE IS A HESITANT SOMETIMES AND I WAS TOLD BY A GM SERVICE TECH THAT IS THE BATTERY LOSING POWER CAUSING THAT ISSUE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT WE HAVE BEEN TOLD MORE THAN ONCE FROM THE GM SERVICE TECHS THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE AND THAT CORPORATE IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THIS IS NOT ONLY A SAFETY ISSUE BUT HEALTH AS WELL. MY FAMILY RIDES AROUND IN THIS CAR.
WAS DRIVING AND NOTICED CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 35MPH, BROUGHT TO A SHOP AND IT HAD TRANSMISSION CODES, SHOP DRAINED FLUID WHICH WAS BLACK AND REPLACED WITH NEW FLUID. DEALER STATES THROTTLE BODY WAS FREEZING DO TO CONDENSATION BUILDING UP WITHIN THROTTLE BODY STATED THIS IS COMMON IN THESE CARS. AGAIN GOT THE CAR BACK AFTER SPENDING A TON MORE MONEY GETTING IT FIXED HAD TO TAKE IT RIGHT BACK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON WITHIN 20MI OF DRIVING. DON'T WASTE YOU TIME BUYING THESE LEMON CARS. *TR
DURING TRANSIT ON INTERSTATE THE ENGINE STOP PROVIDING POWER TO THE TRANSMISSION AND RPM DECREASED TO 1,000 WHILE DECELERATING THE VEHICLE FROM 70MPH TO 45MPH MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO CHANGE LANES TO PULL OFF THE ROAD ALMOST RESULTING IN A FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT. AFTER ABOUT 30-45 SECONDS THE ENGIN REENGAGED. 30 MINUTES LATER THE VEHICLES SYSTEM ALERTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS OVERHEATING AND RECOMMENDED THAT WE PLACE THE VEHICLE IN NUTRAL. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED.
3-5-R WAVEPLATE IN TRANSMISSION IS KNOWN DEFECTIVE. TRANSMISSION FIRST WENT OUT AT ~4 YEARS OLD AND 50,000 MILES LEAVING US STRANDED. ABOUT 1 YEAR LATER TCM (VALVE BODY) IN TRANSMISSION FAILED (LIKELY DEBRIS FROM WAVEPLATE FAILURE). FORCING YOU TO PULL OVER AND TURN CAR AND OFF HOPE IT WOULD BEGIN SHIFTING AGAIN. FORTUNATELY, MADE IT TO DEALER UNDER ITS OWN POWER FOR THAT ONE. GM DID NOT COVER THIS, $1000 OUT OF MY POCKET. 8 YEARS OLD AND 99,000 MILES WAVEPLATE OUT AGAIN STRANDING US ON HIGHWAY... AGAIN. 2 WEEKS LATER THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AGAIN, THIS TIME SHAFT THAT HOLDS GEARS WAS SCARRED UP (LIKELY DEBRIS FROM WAVEPLATE FAILURES) STRANDED AGAIN AND $3200 TO FIX WITH SOME HELP FROM GM. 2008 TO 2013 ACADIA, OUTLOOKS, TRAVERSE, ENCLAVE ALL HAVING THIS ISSUE STRANDING PEOPLE ON ROADS.

THE SUN ROOF IS DEFECTIVE CAUSING WATER TO ENTER INTO THE FRAME OF THE CAR AND CAUSING ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION TO THE ELECTRICAL / PCM AS WELL HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS NOTIFICATIONS ON INSTRUMENT PANEL ALSO CAUSING INSTRUMENT PANEL TO NOT LIGHT UP WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH NO FUNCTIONS, TURNING OFF HEADLIGHTS AS WELL THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE VIA SATURN FORUMS AND YOUTUBE VIDEOS AS WELL AS TSB NUMBER OF 07-08-57-002F. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING AND THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW BATTERY DUE TO THE WATER THAT WAS LEAKING ONTO THE BATTERY. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PPM CHIP FOR THE AIR BAG WAS MISSING, WHICH CAUSED THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR TO ILLUMINATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V118000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD LURCH FORWARD WHEN IN PARK OR DRIVE. MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK APPARENTLY HAS HAD A DEFECTED SUNROOF THAT GMC HAS BEEN TRACKING FOR YEARS NOW BUT HAS NOT INCORPORATED ANY RECALLS TO FIX IT. WE JUST MOVED FROM CA TO VA AND ARE JUST NOW EXPERIENCING ACTUAL RAINFALL THAT LEAKS THROUGH THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE AND INTO THE FLOOR OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER FLOORBOARD. I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED ANY ELECTRICAL ISSUES YET BUT I KNOW THEY ARE COMING. HOWEVER, WE ARE EXPERIENCING MILDEW AND MOLD SMELL IN THE CAR WHICH IS NOT GOOD TO BE INHALING FOR ANYONE IN MY FAMILY. THE SENSOR IN MY PASSENGER SEAT DOES NOT SENCE THAT A PASSENGER IS SITTING THERE, THEREFORE WILL NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH. DRIVING ON A SMALL HIGHWAY AND THE STABILI RAK LIGHT BLINKED AND A CHIME RANG. ERROR MESSAGE CAME ON TO SERVICE STABILITRAK WHILE CAR BEGAN TO BUCK AND LOSE POWER. HAD TROUBLE GETTING CAR TO ACCELERATE - CAR KEPT BUCKING AND IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND I WAS AFRAID OF GETTING HIT FROM BEHIND SINCE I COULDN'T MAINTAIN SPEED. AFTER A FEW MINUTES, THE ERROR LIGHT WENT OFF AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. IN THE YEARS I HAVE HAD THE CAR, I HAD THREE INCIDENTS WHERE THE LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND THE CHIME WOULD RING WITH THE SAME ERROR MESSAGE. HOWEVER, IN THOSE CASES, THE CAR HESITATED BRIEFLY BUT MAINTAINED A MORE NORMAL SPEED. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO A GM DEALER AND IT WAS A TIMING CHAIN PROBLEM. THE SATURN OUTLOOK FOR 2007 AND 2009 HAVE SPECIAL WARRANTIES FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT NOT THE 2008 MODEL. GM DOESN'T WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE EXISTS ON THIS MODEL YEAR - BUT I HAVE FOUND OTHER COMPLAINTS HERE ON YOUR SITE. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND GM NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
DRIVING LATE ONE NIGHT WHEN MY LOW BEAM LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING, I WAS LEFT WITH MY HIGH BEAM LIGHTS AND MY FOG LIGHTS ONLY. ENDED UP GETTING PULLED OVER BY A POLICE OFFICER ON MY WAY HOME, WHO ADVISED THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE WIRING IN SIMILAR VEHICLES.AFTER WRITING ME A WARNING, I WENT HOME WITH LITTLE LIGHT FOR DRIVING. WOKE UP THIS MORNING, ATTEMPTED TO CHECK FUSES AND BULBS, NO ISSUES NOTED. CAN SMELL A BURNT WIRE SMELL NEAR HEADLIGHT. DID MY RESEARCH AND APPARENTLY IS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM INDEED. PLEASE RECALL HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESSES.

POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY FAILS WHILE TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT AT LOW SPEEDS. WHEN IT FAILS IT BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, REQUIRING SIGNIFICANT FORCE TO COMPLETE THE TURN. THIS BECOMES VERY DANGEROUS AND A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. REPAIRS SHOPS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE SINCE IT HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. ISSUE BEGAN TO OCCUR WITH LESS THAN 100K MIKES.
