I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN NOV 2015 AND BY JAN 2016 HAD LOST MY POWER STEERING TWICE. EACH TIME THE DEALER HAD TO REPLACE A HOSE. IT WAS FINE FOR ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE STARTING TO BECOME VERY LOUD AGAIN. AT THIS POINT I WENT BACK AND FORTH WITH HIM AND HE FINALLY REPLACED THE PUMP AND I PAID A DEDUCTIBLE. IT HAS BEEN 3 WEEKS AND I LOST MY POWER STEERING AGAIN. THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY SQUEAKY WHILE TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS. THERE IS CLEARLY AN ISSUE GOING ON THAT IS CAUSING THESE HOSES TO KEEP BLOWING, I AM ALSO READING SIMILAR ISSUES BY PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WEB. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN WHO I DRIVE AROUND ALL DAY LONG AND I HAVE BEEN VERY LUCKY WE HAVEN'T BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS YET. ONCE IT WAS ON A VERY BUSY HIGH SPEED ROAD. WHILE I DO NOT KNOW WHY THIS KEEPS HAPPENING, THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT CLEARLY NEEDS GM'S ATTENTION, AND IT SHOULD BE FIXED BY GM. THE FIRST TIME I WAS PARKED AND AS SOON AS I PUT MY CAR INTO REVERSE IT POPPED, THE SECOND I WAS DRIVING AT ALMOST 60MPH, THE THIRD I WAS ON A BACK ROAD GOING AROUND 30MPH.
SPORADICALLY, WATER LEAKS FROM THE CEILING AIR VENTS/REAR VIEW CAMERA/ A-BRACES/ AIRBAG COVERS AND BASICALLY ANY OTHER PLACE WATER CAN COME OUT OF. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE GMC DEALER 2X TO LOOK FOR THE ISSUE BUT THEY CANNOT REPLICATE. IN VIEWING INFORMATION ONLINE (SPECIFICALLY EDMONDS.COM) IT APPEARS THAT THIS HAS BEEN A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM SINCE THE AUTO WAS MANUFACTURED - I AM JUST LUCKY THAT MINE HAS BEEN SPORADIC. IT HAS NOT EFFECTED COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE YET, BUT IF IT KEEPS HAPPENING I HAVE LITTLE DOUBT THAT THERE WILL BE ISSUES - PARTS CORRODING, ELECTRICAL ISSUES, ETC. AS MENTIONED EARLIER, IT BAFFLES ME THAT THERE ARE 18 PAGES OF IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS, YET THE MANUFACTURER HAS NEVER BEEN MADE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT - AN IDIOT CAN TELL THAT THERE HAS TO BE SOME MANUFACTURER DEFECT TO HAVE THAT # OF OCCURENCES. I REALLY DON'T EXPECT ANYTHING TO COME OF MY ISSUE, BUT WANTED TO DOCUMENT WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN CASE THERE ARE MORE SERIOUS ISSUES LATER SUCH AS AN ACCIDENT CAUSED BY EQUIPMENT FAILURE DUE TO WATER DAMAGE - IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THIS DEFECT CAUSES SERIOUS HARM TO SOMEONE.
AFTER A HEAVY STORM RAINWATER LEAKED INTO THE CABIN OF MY PARKED AND UNOCCUPIED VEHICLE THROUGH THE FACTORY INSTALLED SUNROOF, WHICH WAS FULLY CLOSED. THE WATER ALSO LEAKED INTO THE CABIN BEHIND THE GLOVE BOX, UNDER THE DASH, AND THROUGH THE HEADLINER. THIS RESULTED IN RAINWATER GETTING INTO THE FUSE BOX CAUSING ELECTRICAL CORROSION AND THE REAR WIPER TO MALFUNCTION. BESIDES THE POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE, AN ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION WHILE DRIVING OR FIRE, THERE IS ALSO A HEALTH ISSUE OF MOLD IN THE HEADLINER AND UNDER THE CARPETING. AS A RESULT OF THE WATER GETTING INSIDE THE CAR THE HEADLINER IS NOW PERMANENTLY WATER STAINED AND THE CARPETING WAS SOAKED. THE DEALERSHIP "BLEW OUT" THE DRAIN TUBES BUT COULD NOT GUARANTEE THIS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS FURTHER ADVISED OF A GMC CUSTOMER SATISFACTION RECALL ON THIS CAR (08207A) WHICH EXPIRED ON 09/30/09 AND THAT THIS REPAIR WAS NEVER DONE ON MY VEHICLE, BASED ON A CHECK OF THE VIN. I CONTACTED SATURN DIRECTLY ON 04/04/16 WHO REFUSED TO PAY FOR THIS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION RECALL SINCE IT EXPIRED 7 YEARS AGO. I'VE GOTTEN MORE WATER INSIDE MY CAR SINCE MY TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE APPROXIMATE COST TO EXTEND THE DRAIN TUBES, AS RECOMMENDED ON THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION RECALL, WOULD BE AT LEAST $500.00. THIS PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE REPLACING THE HEADLINER, THE CARPETING, POSSIBLE MOLD REMOVAL, OR REPAIRING/REPLACING THE FUSE BOX. MY MAIN CONCERNS ARE FOR THE SAFETY AND WELL BEING OF MY SMALL CHILDREN WHILE RIDING IN THIS CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. ON A RAINY DAY, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR MOON ROOF AND THE FRONT SUN ROOF WERE LEAKING WATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR SUN ROOF WAS DETACHED AND CAUSED WATER TO LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, WATER WAS LEAKING FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD TO THE FLOORMAT. THE AIR BAGS SENSOR WAS CORRODED DUE TO THE WATER LEAKAGE FROM THE ROOF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN, WATER COMES IN FROM THE SUNROOF RUNNING THRU THE AIRBAGS AND HAS SHORTED MY SPEAKERS AND PLAYED HAVOC WITH MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN GENERAL. THE RADIO/CAR WOULDN'T TURN OFF WHICH DRAINED THE BATTERY (WHICH I'VE REPLACE THREE TIMES IN A THREE YEAR SPAN) AFTER THE KEY WAS REMOVED. I'VE HAD THE DRAINAGE TUBE REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT STILL HAPPENS. MY DRIVER'S SIDE CARPET STAYS WET AND NOW IT HAS A MILDEW SMELL AND I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE FLOOR MATS TWICE. 3/6/16 WAS THE LATEST OCCURRENCE.
TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. 35R WAVE PLATE KNOWN TO BE DEFECTIVE (CAUSING COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE) IN OUTLOOK, ACADIA, ENCLAVE, VUE, ETC. THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS HAVING THIS ISSUE.
SECOND TRANSMISSION FAILURE, LOSS OF POWER AND FAILURE TO UPSHIFT WHILE ACCELERATING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. HAD TO PULL INTO CENTER LANE TO AVOID INTERFERING WITH TRAFFIC NEARLY CAUSING COLLISION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC PREPARING TO TURN. WAS NOTIFIED BY DEALERSHIP THAT IT IS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. AWAITING ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS. FIRST TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 42K MILES SECOND FAILURE AT 86K MILES. OTHER VEHICLES OF THIS TYPE HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS TYPE PROBLEM BUT FOR SOME REASON, THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED
MY CAR HAS PROBLEMS WITH THE PROP ROD RECOVERY SYSTEM. THE BACK HATCH IS VERY DIFFICULT TO RAISE AND LOWER. IT HAS FALLEN ON ME WHEN I'VE BEEN TRYING TO CARRY IN GROCERIES AND IT ALMOST CAME DOWN ON MY GRANDSON'S HEAD WHEN HE WAS STANDING NEXT TO ME TO HELP CARRY IN THE GROCERIES. WHEN I READ AN ARTICLE IN THE BUSINESS SECTION OF OUR LOCAL PAPER ABOUT A RECALL ON 2007-2010 SATURN OUTLOOKS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM I ASSUMED MY CAR WAS RECALLED. AT MY LAST SERVICE AT THE GM DEALERSHIP I ASKED ABOUT THIS RECALL. THEY LOOKED IT UP AND SAID MINE WASN'T PART OF THE RECALL. THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $180-200 TO FIX IT. I CALLED THE SATURN CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE TO DOUBLE CHECK WHETHER MY CAR WAS ON THE LIST. I WAS ADVISED TO MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO NHTSA TO HOPEFULLY HAVE GM OR WHOMEVER TO EXTEND THE RECALL TO MY MODEL SINCE IT CLEARLY HAS THE SAME ISSUE. THANK YOU
MY SATURN OUTLOOK BECAME EXTREMELY HOT BY MY FOOT DUE TO THIS FAULTY ISSUE (DESIGN FLAW) WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH MY [XXX] YEAR OLD SON...THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS LEAKING INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER..IF YOU GOOGLE THIS YOU WILL FIND THAT THIS WAS A DESIGN FLAW IN ALL LAMBDA FRAME VEHICLES IN THE EARLY YEARS...I HAD IT REPLACED AS THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS LEAKING INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND COST ME $900. THIS WAS A DESIGN FLAW BY GM AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AS THE CAR WILL BECOME LOW ON BRAKE FLUID...MY CAR INDICITATED THIS BY STATING ON THE DASH "PARKING BRAKE WAS ON, SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM, AND TRACTION CONTROL OFF" UPON A GOOGLE SEARCH OF THIS I REALIZED THAT IT SEEMS LIKE EVERY OTHER LAMBDA FRAME VEHICLE IN THE EARLY YEARS OF PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM AS IT IS A DESIGN FLAW. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN, THE VEHICLE COLLECTED WATER WITHIN THE WEDGING OF THE SUN ROOF AND HEADLINER AND BEGAN LEAKING FROM ANY OPENING WITHIN THE VEHICLE (DOORS, VENTS, ETC). WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND/ OR STOPPED, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCUMULATE WATER ON THE FLOOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION KEY WAS STUCK IN THE IGNITION SWITCH AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
A FEW MONTHS AGO READING OUTLOOK FORUMS I CAME ACROSS A THREAD WHERE FOLKS WERE TALKING ABOUT WATER LEAKS. SPECIFICALLY VIA THEIR SUNROOF. MANY OF THOSE PEOPLE EXPERIENCED ELECTRICAL DAMAGE TO THEIR VEHICLES BECAUSE OF WATER THAT HAD LEAKED INTO AREAS WHERE ELECTRICAL CURRENTS ARE CONSTANT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING. SINCE THE RAINS HAVE COME BACK TO CALIFORNIA I NOW FIND THAT I AM EXPERIENCING THIS LEAK. I CANNOT TELL WHERE IT'S ENTERING AND HOW IT'S CHANNELED BUT I NOW HAVE A SMALL PUDDLE RESIDING ON MY RUBBER FLOOR MAT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND TODAY SAW WATER DRIPPING FROM THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PEDAL. A SHORT TIME AGO I WATCHED A VIDEO ON YOUTUBE OF A GENTLEMAN DESCRIBING AND SHOWING WHAT LEAKING WATER DID TO HIS HEATER OR DEFROST MOTOR. YOU COULD CLEARLY SEE THE MOTOR HAD BEEN SUBMERGED LONG ENOUGH TO CORRODE IT CAUSING IT TO EVENTUALLY FAIL. I AM HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME UNDERSTAND THAT AFTER ALL THE STORIES I HAVE READ IN THE OUTLOOK FORUMS AND SUCH THAT THIS ISSUE IS NOT WORTHY OF A RECALL. IN MY OPINION THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. A FEW MINUTES AGO I WENT ONLINE TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY LOCAL GM SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I AM ALREADY ASSUMING I AM GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOR POSSIBLE WATER DAMAGE AND/OR RUST ACCUMULATION FROM THIS ONGOING PROBLEM. A PROBLEM THAT GM SHOULD HAVE ADDRESSED AND TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY FOR YEARS AGO. WHERE IS CRAFTSMANSHIP? WHERE IS PRIDE IN WHAT AMERICA BUILDS? AND WHERE IS QUALITY CONTROL?
WATER LEAKING FROM BLOCKED DRAINS IN SUNROOF, NOW HAVE TO REPLACE FUSE BOX MODULE. WHEN IT RAINS WATER COMES FROM AIRBAG ON BOTH FARMS BY WINDSHIELD, WATER COLLECTS AT BASE OF DASH BOARD ON BOTH DRIVER & PASSENGER SIDES. WHEN PULLING OUT KEY FROM IGNITION, KEY WOULDN'T RELEASE. BATTERY DEAD EVERY MORNING DUE TO CAR "THINKING" IT WAS ON ALL NIGHT. DASHBOARD LIGHT ISSUES & WARNINGS FOR AIRBAGS & STABILTRACK SYSTEM. REPLACED BATTERY BEFORE FINALLY HAVING ISSUES DIAGNOSED CORRECTLY AS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. LOOKS LIKE I'M BY FAR NOT THE FIRST TO REPORT THIS "KNOWN" ISSUE.
MY SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON FOR A PERIOD OF TIME AFTER HAVING BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR THE RECENT AIR BAG RECALL. I THINK IT STARTED AFTER THEY DID THE LAST RECALL ON THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTORS. NOW, I AM TOLD THAT THIS IS NOT RELATED TO THE RECALL, BUT THAT THE PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. CODE B0081. THE COST TO REPAIR/REPLACE IS $780. I HAVE SEEN MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF THIS SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT AND AN IMPORTANT SAFETY CONCERN. I WAS ADVISED THE PASSENGER AIR BAG MAY OR MAY NOT DEPLOY.
MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK RECENTLY STARTED LEAKING WATER. I FIRST NOTICED THAT MY FRONT PASSENGER FLOORBOARD WAS WET, IN DECEMBER 2015. AFTER NOTICING THIS I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER CONTINUALLY GOING, I COULD NOT TURN IT OFF. I THEN STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE RADIO STAYING ON WHEN I EXITED THE VEHICLE. WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS MY CAR BATTERY DIED AND I FIGURED THIS IS WHY I WAS HAVING THOSE ISSUES. I REPLACED THE BATTERY WITH A BRAND NEW ONE. ON JAN 19, 2016 I GOT INTO MY CAR ON AN EXTREMELY RAINY DAY AND NOTICED A HUGE PUDDLE OF WATER ON THE FRONT PASSENGER FLOORBOARD. I LOOKED ALL AROUND THE CAR AND COULD NOT FIND ANY LEAKS, NOTHING FROM WINDSHIELD, SUNROOF OR DAMAGED WEATHER STRIPPING. I TOOK OUT THE MATS AND THE CAR DRIED OUT. ON JAN 31, 2016 THERE WAS ANOTHER EXTREMELY WET AND RAINY DAY AND ONCE AGAIN WATER WAS POOLED UP IN FRONT PASSENGER FLOORBOARD. AS I DROVER CAR AWAY WATER STARTED POURING INTO THE VEHICLE FROM ALL OPENINGS, IE SEATBELT HARNESS, WINDSHIELD, FROM BELOW DASH, VENTS, EVERYWHERE. ALL OF THE PASSENGERS IN CAR WERE GETTING WET. ONCE HOME I PARKED THE CAR IN THE GARAGE AND I TOOK OUT FLOOR MATS AND OPENED UP WINDOWS FOR CAR TO DRY OUT. AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPER STARTED GOING OFF REPEATEDLY ON IT'S OWN, LIKE BEFORE. I COULD NOT TURN IT OFF, ONCE AGAIN. THEN THE RADIO CONTINUED TO STAY ON ONCE THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF, KEY REMOVED AND DRIVER DOOR OPENED. I LAST DROVE THE CAR ON WED NIGHT 2/3 AND PARKED IN THE GARAGE OVERNIGHT. WHEN I WENT TO GET IN CAR THE NEXT MORNING IT WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. NO POWER AT ALL, BRAND NEW BATTERY. THEN THE KEY GOT STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND CAR WAS STUCK IN GARAGE. I HAD TO HAVE TOW COMPANY COME AND TOW CAR OFF TO DEALERSHIP. I FILED COMPLAINT WITH GM. I SEE THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR OTHERS AS WELL.
THE SUNROOF LEAKS WHEN IT IS CLOSED, AND THIS IS CAUSING WATER TO COME IN TO THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE. WATER IS COMING IN FROM THE FRONT AIR BAGS, THE WINDSHIELD, UNDER THE DASH, OUT OF THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER, THE VISOR, AND THE BACK SEAT BELTS. I NOW HAVE TO REPLACE THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WHICH IS RELATED TO THE WATER DAMAGING THE UNIT. I AM FEARFUL THE WITH THE WATER GETTING IN BY THE AIRBAGS THAT IF I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT THEY WILL MALFUNCTION. I HAVE ALSO BEEN RECEIVING MESSAGES ABOUT SERVICING THE STABILITRAC, BUT WHEN I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT THE MECHANIC CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, SO THIS COULD ALSO BE RELATED TO THE BODY CONTROL MODULE.
WHEN COMING OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY I NOTICED IT WAS HARD TO STEERED. I AM HAVING PROBLEMS STEERING THE TRUCK TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT. THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY HARD. THE TIRES ALWAYS LOOSING AIR. THE WIPERS OR THE WINDSHIELD HAVE VERY POOR VISIBILITY.
WHEN IT RAINS MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK WILL CONTINUE TO RUN EVEN AFTER THE KEY IS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. MY BATTERY DRAINS DOWN FOR NO REASON AND MY RADIO WILL NOT TURN OFF WHEN THE DRIVER DOOR IS OPEN. I HAVE RECENTLY STARTED SMELLING AN EXTREMELY FOWL SMELL THAT COMES AND GOES. THE SPEAKERS IN MY CAR WORK WHEN THEY WANT TO. I BELIEVE THERE IS A SHORT IN MY CAR THAT IS CAUSING THESE PROBLEMS.
WARNING LIGHT SAYS 'SERVICE AIR BAG'. THIS IS A GM RECALL ITEM SINCE 2014. THIS LIGHT JUST STARTED ON MY CAR. GM WILL NOT SERVICE MY CAR AS IT SAYS IT IS NOT AN OPEN RECALL ITEM FOR MY VIN. PLEASE HELP.
TIMING CHAIN FOR 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK NOT COVERED UNDER SPECIAL COVERAGE FOR REPLACEMENT BUT THEY ARE COVERING THE 2007 AND 2009 MODELS WHICH HAVE THE SAME PART NUMBERS AND WERE ALL PRODUCED THE SAME WAY FOR 3 YEARS THEY ARE NOT COVERING KNOWN DEFECTS IN THERE PRODUCTS LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET SEE ALL THE COMPLAINTS FOR YOURSELF THANKS FOR YOUR TIME FYI RECALL # IS 10287 FOR YOUR REFERENCE
MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON, ON THE DASH AND WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT SOMETIMES IT WILL SHOW ON BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT'S OFF. WE TOOK IT IN TO HAVE THE RECALL FOR THE WIRING DONE BUT IT STILL STAYS ON.
TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK AROUND THE TIMING BELT COVER AND THAT THE GASKETS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. DEALERSHIP WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME OVER $2,000 TO FIX THE OIL LEAK WHEN THE PART ONLY COST AROUND $100. HAVE TO REPLACE THE OIL THAT IS LOST ABOUT 2 QUARTS A MONTH.
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND HIGH ENGINE REV DURING COMMUTE FROM WORK TO HOME.COULD NOT GET OVER 40 MPH AND HAD TO TAKE SIDE STREETS HOME. WAS FEARFUL THAT IT WOULD NOT MAKE IT !
MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK IS LEAKING WATER FROM THE ROOF WHICH IS DRAINING INTO THE DASHBOARD AND THEN DOWN INTO THE FLOORBOARD OF THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR. THIS FIRST STARTED AFTER A HEAVY RAIN WHEN I HEARD A WHOOSHING SOUND AND WATER CAME OUT OF THE TOP OF THE HEADLINER AND DOWN ONTO THE DASH AS I BACKED UP THE CAR. THE FLOORBOARD WAS SOAKING WET. NOW IT JUST LEAKS THROUGH THE HEADLINER AND DOWN THE DASH TO THE FLOOR EVERY TIME IT RAINS SINCE THEN I'VE HAD GM TELL ME MY DRAIN LINES FOR THE SUNROOF WERE BLOCKED AND CHARGED ME $100 TO BLOW THEM OUT. 3 MONTHS LATER, AND A DROUGHT OF A SUMMER, AND AFTER OUR FIRST RAIN THE CAR LEAKED WATER AGAIN. GM ONCE AGAIN TRIED TO SAY THE LINES WERE CLOGGED TO WHICH I DEMANDED THAT THEY LOOK INTO THE TSB REGARDING THE DRAIN TUBES. THEY REFUSED TO CONSIDER THAT OPTION EARLIER THIS YEAR, WHICH IS RIDICULOUS SINCE GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE 2008 AND OFFERED TO FIX IT FOR FREE, EXCEPT I'M NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE CAR AND DIDN'T KNOW THIS. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 4 WEEKS AND HAS BEEN IN THE DEALER FOR OVER 20 DAYS IN THE LAST MONTH. AT THIS TIME THEY HAVE INSTALLED THE $11 DRAIN TUBES AND CHARGED ME $400 TO REPLACE THEM AND THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. WATER IS STILL RUNNING INTO MY DASH AND ONTO THE FLOORBOARD. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN IT RAINS AND NOT WHILE IN A CAR WASH OR OTHER WAYS IN WHICH PEOPLE HAVE TRIED TO REPLICATE RAIN WATER. SO BASICALLY I'M STUCK WITH A CAR THAT I CAN'T DRIVE WHEN IT RAINS. MY CAR SMELLS OF MILDEW AND I'M WORRIED ABOUT MOLD AND POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL ISSUES BECAUSE OF THESE LEAKS.

OWNER SAW WATER DRIPPING FROM UNDER GLOVE BOX COMPARTMENT, AND SUBSTANTIAL WATER ON PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR MAT. OWNER ABLE TO DRIVE TO WORK AND PARKED IN WORK PARKING RAMP. AFTER WORK, OWNER ATTEMPTED TO START CAR TO GO HOME, EXPERIENCED NO CRANK/ NO START. LIGHTS DID COME ON BUT KEY THEN STUCK IN IGNITION. CAR BATTERY EVENTUALLY DIED DUE TO INABILITY TO TURN OFF LIGHTS. COMPANY CALLED TO JUMP START CAR, COMPANY ATTACHED JUMPER CABLES AND LIGHTS CAME ON, VOLTAGE GOOD, CAR STILL NO CRANK NO START. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSIS WATER LEAKED FROM THE SUNROOF INTO THE FRONT OF CAR AND INTO THE FUSE BOX, REQUIRING A NEW FUSE BOX, ALL NEW TERMINALS AND NEW WIRING. COST FOR REPAIR ESTIMATE $800-$1000. CALLS TO CM/SATURN OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE WITH VEHICLE REPAIR OR COST ASSISTANCE AT ALL. THIS INCIDENT IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS A KNOWN TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN BY GM #08-08-57-003F FLOOR WET UNDER CARPET/ENGINE CONTINUES TO RUN WITH KEY OFF/POSSIBLE NO CRANK/NO START/COMMUNICATION LOSS/VARIOUS ELECTRICAL CONCERNS (SEAL SEAM).

AS A RESULT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, WATER HAS BEEN ABLE TO ACCESS THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE WHICH RESULTED IN MALFUNCTIONING OF ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OF THE OVERHEAD ACCESSORIES. SUNROOF HAS BEEN STUCK INTO OPEN POSITION AND WAS NOT ABLE TO RETRACT THE SUNROOF BACK INTO THE CLOSED POSITION.

WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM GM, AS WE PULLED OFF THE LOT AND MADE IT LESS THEN A HALF MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING ROUGHT SO WE TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC. THEY ADVISED US IT WAS A POWER TRAIN ISSUE. WE CALLED GM AND THE REQUESTED US TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN SO THEY'RE MECHANICS COULD LOOK INTO THE ISSUE. CONFIRMED THAT WE HAVE A TIMING CHAIN AND A POWER TRAIN THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. ULTIMATELY THEY REFUSED TO FOOT THE BILL AND SAID THEY WOULD ONLY GO IN HALF. NOW WE ARE HAVING TO PAY 1700.00 TO FIX A VEHICLE BEFORE WE EVEN MAKE OUR FIRST CAR PAYMENT.

THE VEHICLE HAD A TSB FOR A AIR BAG WIRING HARNESS IN 2012 AND THIS WAS DONE. I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS AND OTHER RECALLS FOR GM ON OTHER VEHICLES FOR THIS ISSUE. I WAS SHOCKED THAT THE STANDARD WARRANTY OF 36,000 MILES IS ALL THAT IS REQUIRED FOR A CRITICAL SAFETY SYSTEM! EMISSION COMPONENTS HAVE MORE STRINGENT REQUIREMENTS BY LAW..... THIS IS VERY CONCERNING, AS IT IMPACTS PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE AND IS INTERMITTENT. IT COULD CAUSE THE AIRBAG NOT TO DEPLOY OR TO DEPLOY WITH MORE FORCE, KILLING A CHILD IN THE SEAT.

MY SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON AFTER HAVING BROUGHT IT IN TWICE FOR THE RECENT AIR BAG RECALLS. TODAY I WAS TOLD THAT IT WASN'T RELATED TO THE RECALL, BUT THAT THE PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE COST TO REPAIR/REPLACE IS OVER $900. I WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM, THE AIR BAG MAY OR MAY NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS ONLINE OF THIS SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DEFECT AND AN IMPORTANT SAFETY CONCERN, NOT A TYPICAL REPAIR SUCH AS BRAKES OR NEEDING NEW TIRES.

AIR CONDITIONER WENT OUT COMPLETELY AT ONLY 65,000 MILES. THEY RECHARGED THE FREON, BUT IT WENT OUT THREE WEEKS LATER. THERE WAS A FOG-LIKE DISCHARGE FROM THE AC VENTS AT ONE POINT. THE REPAIR IS GOING TO COST $1,500 AND THEY HAVE TO TAKE OUT THE WHOLE DASH TO EVEN DO IT. I'VE READ SIMILAR BREAKDOWNS OF THE AC UNIT FROM THE ACADIA AND ENCLAVE AND TRAVERSE (SIMILAR MODELS). SHE NOTICED SOME HESITATION IN ACCELERATION THAT DAY. 2 DAYS LATER, WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING THE KIDS TO SCHOOL, THE CAR STARTED TO MAKE A REVVING SOUND, LIKE WHAT KIDS WOULD MAKE WHILE PRETENDING TO DRIVE. THEN WHEN SHE TURNED AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE, THE ENGINE RPM'S WOULD GO UP BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. SHE TURNED IT OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND LIMPED HOME.
