2008 OUTLOOK HAD A BURNED OUT LOW BEAM ON THE DRIVER SIDE AT 31,750 MILES. DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS WAS MELTED CAUSING THE FAILURE AND NEED REPLACING. GM NEEDS TO RECALL BOTH WIRING HARNESSES AS I AM SURE THE NEXT ONE WILL GO AND IT WILL BE PAST THE WARRANTY. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY DEFECT HAVING A LIGHTS WIRING HARNESS MELT. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH '08 OUTLOOKS. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL! *TR
MY DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM WENT OUT ( OR APPEARED TO) I BOUGHT A H11 BULB FROM THE AUTO PARTS STORE AND WENT TO REPLACE IT AND FOUND MY BULB WASN'T BURNT OUT AT ALL JUST HAD FALLEN OUT OF THE SOCKET. SO I TWISTED IT BACK INTO THE SOCKET, PUT THE COVER BACK ON AND IT WORKED FOR A FEW DAYS. THEN MY PASSENGER SIDE DID THE SAME THING. NOW ON MY WAY HOME FORM THE STORE BOTH WENT OUT ( THIS WAS AT NIGHT AND CAUSED A MAJOR PROBLEM FOR ME GETTING HOME.) I ULTIMATELY HAD TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS JUST TO GET HOME SAFELY. I'M NOT SURE HOW TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM SINCE THE BULB ISN'T ACTUALLY BURNING OUT IT JUST KEEPS FALLING OUT OF THE SOCKET. *TR
DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT IS NOT WORKING EVEN AFTER LIGHT BULB WAS CHANGED. TAKEN IN TO DEALER AND TOLD THAT THE LEFT FRONT WIRING HARNESS IS MELTED. *TR
THE WIRING HARNESS ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE LOW BEAM HAS MELTED TWICE. IT WAS LAST REPLACED TWO WEEKS AGO, AND HAS SINCE GONE OUT AGAIN, I SUSPECT THAT IT HAS MELTED AGAIN BUT WILL NOT KNOW FOR SURE UNTIL I TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE SHOP. WHY ARE THESE HARNESS MELTING AND WHY HASN'T GM MADE A RECOMMENDATION TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. *TR
HEADLIGHT WENT OUT IN MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. I TOOK IT IN TO BE REPLACED AND HAD A FAULTY WIRING HARNESS. *TR
1. PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM WENT OUT. 2. REPLACED IT THINKING THE BULB WAS DEAD. 3. 2 DAYS LATER, THE NEW BULB WAS OUT. 4. WENT DIGGING BACK UNDER THE WHEEL WELL AND THROUGH SOME FUNKY ARM BENDING AND TWISTING OF THE NECK I COULD SEE THAT ONE OF THE FEMALE LUGS ON THE CONNECTOR WAS BURNT. 5. USED ELECTRICAL TAPE TO TEMP FIX THE LIGHT. IT WENT OUT 1 DAY LATER AND NOT EVEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR THAT 2 DAY PERIOD. 6. WENT IN AND STARTED AN INTERNET SEARCH AND DISCOVERED I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS MAJOR GM PROBLEM. I HAVE ALREADY GOT A WARNING FOR THE POLICE TO FIX THE HEADLIGHT OUT. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WORRY WHEN IT WILL GO OUT AGAIN AND HOPEFULLY NOT GET A TICKET OR EVEN WORSE. A CRASH. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK THAT HAS A FAULTY HEADLIGHT. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT IT WAS A BULB AND PURCHASED A NEW ONE. THEN, IT WENT OUT AGAIN A FEW WEEK LATER. DID THE SAME THING AGAIN, PURCHASED A BULB AND REPLACED IT. THAT WENT OUT SHORTLY ALSO. FINALLY HAD TO TAKE TO DEALER. TURNS OUT TO BE A FAULTY WIRING HARNESS AND IT COSTS HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF MY BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY BY THAT TIME THE FIX WAS NOT COVERED EVEN THOUGH IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY WHEN IT FIRST WAS A PROBLEM. MY WARRANTY EXPIRED DURING THE TIME I WASTED WITH CHANGING BULBS. BASED ON MY RESEARCH THIS HAS BEEN A CHRONIC KNOWN PROBLEM FOR GM FOR SEVERAL YEARS, YET GM HAS NOT RESOLVED THE SITUATION WITH A RECALL. *TR
MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. I HAD TWO HEADLIGHTS MALFUNCTION AT THE SAME TIME. I WENT TO REPLACE THE BULBS AND ONE OF LIGHTS STARTED TO WORK WITHOUT REPLACEMENT. THE SECOND BULB HAD A BURN MARK AND THE CONNECTOR ON THE WIRING HARNESS WAS MELTED. I PLUGGED THE BULB BACK IT AND IT WORK, THOUGH A BIT DIMMER. THIS IS THE 3RD OR 4TH TIME I'VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. I HAD THOUGHT THEY REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS BEFORE UNDER WARRANTY. I'M ASSUMING THEY WILL BE DOING THE SAME SINCE THE BULBS STILL WORK AND THE CONNECTOR IS MELTED ON THE ONE HARNESS. *TR
2008 SATURN OUTLOOK XR WITH 40,000 MILES. RECENTLY MY PASSENGER HEAD LIGHT WENT OUT. I REPLACED THE BULB BUT IT WENT OUT AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 1 WEEK. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE AND READING ALL OF THE ISSUES OUTLOOK OWNERS ARE HAVING, I REALIZED ITS NOT A BULB ISSUE BUT RATHER A FAULTY WIRE HARNESS THAT IS MELTING. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL SO ALL OUTLOOK OWNERS CAN GET THIS REPAIRED AND ELIMINATE THE RISK OF FIRE. *TR
THE RIGHT FRONT HEADLIGHT WENT OUT, REPLACED THE BULB AND REALIZED THE CONNECTOR WAS MELTED. TWO WEEKS LATER THE LEFT FRONT BULB WENT OUT, BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CONNECTER WAS MELTED. SO BOTH SIDES HAD ELECTRICAL MELTING. COST TO REPAIR IS $352. *TR
SATURN OUTLOOK 2008 DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WENT OUT , WAS CHANGED THEN WENT OUT AGAIN WITHIN A WEEK. AT DEALER FOR WASHER FLUID RECALL AND LEARNED OUR WIRING HARNESS IS MELTED IS VERY COSTLY TO FIX AND IS A FIRE AND SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK AND THE RIGHT LOW BEAM WENT OUT AND I FOUND THAT THE CONNECTOR HAD MELTED. THE VERY NEXT DAY IN THE EVENING THE LEFT LOW BEAM WENT OUT AND I WAS WITHOUT LOW BEAM LIGHTS. I HAD BOTH WIRING HARNESSES REPLACED AT A COST OF ALMOST $400 ON 8/27/10 I HOPE THIS FIXES MY PROBLEM. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE IN MY OPINION. I HAD TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS AND THAT WAS NOT GOOD FOR OTHER DRIVERS AND THEY WERE ANGRY WITH ME. NEEDS RECALL. *TR
HEADLIGHT DRIVERS SIDE FAILURE , LIGHT WILL WORK AT TIMES THEN GO OUT BELIEVE THIS IS A WIRING FAILURE AS THE BULB IS GOOD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLAMP FAILED. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE THE LIGHT BULB AND DISCOVERED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS HAD OVERHEATED AND BURNED. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD BE REPAIRED BUT AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 70,458. UPDATED 12/01/10. *LJ UPDATED 12/14/10
2008 SATURN OUTLOOK XR AWD. THE DRIVER'S SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WENT OUT SO I WENT TO REPLACE IT JUST TO FIND THAT THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS WAS MELTED. THIS IS AN EXTREME FIRE HAZARD. THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY COMMON AS FOR SATURN OUTLOOKS/GMC ACADIAS AND HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED YET. *TR

I PURCHASED A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK XR IN JULY 2010. WITHIN ONE MONTH OF PURCHASING THE LOW-BEAM PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. I HAD THE BULB REPLACED AND IT BURNT OUT AGAIN. I NOW FIND OUT THAT IT IS A BAD WIRING HARNESS AND IT HAS MELTED AND MUST BE REPLACED WITH NEW ONE. GM SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL AS I HAVE READ THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM AMONG THE 08 OUTLOOK. OUR 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK'S HEADLIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY KEEP GOING OUT. AND IT IS VERY COSTLY TO REPAIR, ESPECIALLY SINCE SATURN WENT OUT OF BUSINESS. ALSO, WE HAVE A PORTABLE DVD PLAYER THAT WE USE IN THE CAR FOR OUR KIDS AND WHEN WE PLUG IT INTO THE OUTLET NEAR THE RADIO AN BURNING ODOR COMES FROM IT. *TR
1)PASSENGER SIDE HEAD LIGHT DOES NOT WORK. ALL GM AND SATURN FORUM WEB SITES TALK ABOUT THIS SAME PROBLEM MELTED WIRING HARNESS. FROM 5,000 MILES AND UP IT DOES NOT MATTER. 2)MELTED WIRING HARNESS. THIS MAY BE A FIRE HAZARD. 3)REMOVE FRONT FACIA BUMPER COVER, AND REMOVE HEADLIGHT,REPLACE WIRING HARNESS. *TR

2008 SATURN OUTLOOK HEADLIGHT FAILURE. LIGHTS WENT OUT DURING NIGHT DRIVING. DOES NOT WORK. COSTLY REPAIR OF $500+ . *TR
2008 SATURN OUTLOOK WIRING HARNESS ON HEADLIGHT OVERHEATED AND HEADLIGHT NO LONGER WORKS. ALREADY HAD AT SERVICE CENTER TWICE. PAID FOR REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHT WHICH WENT OUT A DAY OR TWO LATER; THEN PAID FOR A DIAGNOSIS. ALREADY PULLED OVER TWICE BY LAW ENFORCEMENT FOR HAVING HEADLIGHT OUT. *TR
1A. THE HEADLIGHTS ON OUR 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK STARTED MALFUNCTIONING WHEN ON AUTO IN JULY 2010. 1B. OUR TRANSMISSION DOESN'T PROPERLY ENGAGE, EITHER. 2A. OUR HEADLIGHTS WENT COMPLETELY OUT ON THE LEFT SIDE, EVEN WHEN ON MANUAL, LAST FRIDAY EVENING. THEY HAD BEEN WORKING EARLIER IN MANUAL, SO WE WERE UNAWARE UNTIL PULLED OVER BY AN MP AND CITED. WE WERE UNABLE TO DRIVE OUR OUTLOOK AT NIGHT. SATURN FINALLY AGREED TO FIX THE WIRING HARNESS ON WEDNESDAY, BUT THEY WILL NOT FIX THE NEW BULB THAT SHORTED OUT DUE TO THE WIRING PROBLEM. IT CAUSED US TO NOT BE ABLE TO SAFELY OR LEGALLY DRIVE AT NIGHT. 2B. THE TRANSMISSION OFTEN DOES NOT ENGAGE, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE ARE STOPPED AND THEN TRY TO CROSS TRAFFIC TO TURN LEFT. THIS HAS CAUSED SEVERAL NEAR MISSES AND ONE MINOR ACCIDENT FOR US. IT USUALLY OCCURS WHEN WE ARE STOPPED AND NEEDING TO SPEED UP TO MERGE OR CROSS TRAFFIC. 3A. CURRENTLY, SATURN IS REPLACING THE WIRING HARNESS BUT NOT THE LIGHT BURNED OUT BECAUSE OF THE WIRING PROBLEM, STATING THIS IS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE. THEY ARE ALSO ADDRESSING LEAKS IN THE WATER AND FUEL PUMPS. 3B. UNLESS THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM IS FIXED BY THE LEAKS REPAIR, THEY HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING TO CORRECT THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. *TR
THE PASSENGER HEADLAMP STOPPED WORKING. THEN THE DRIVER SIDE WENT OUT I SPENT $100 TO FIND OUT I HAD A SHORT IN THE WIRE HARNESS THAT CAUSED THE OTHER ONE TO GO OUT. AT 40,000 PLUS MILES AND THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $500 PLUS DOLLAR TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK SL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER. HE WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE; HOWEVER, HE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ONTO THE EMERGENCY LANE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS ON BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO COVER RENTAL EXPENSES. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE BATTERY WAS DEFECTIVE AND REPLACED THE BATTERY WITH A NEW ONE. ONE WEEK LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE A THIRD BATTERY WAS INSTALLED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE OWNER THAT THE BATTERY RECEIVED WAS DEFECTIVE AND THEY HAD RECEIVED AN ENTIRE DEFECTIVE BATCH OF BATTERIES. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER FOR A FOURTH BATTERY REPLACEMENT. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 17,000.
PASSENGER SIDE WIRING HARNESS MELTED. COST ME 200.00 DOLLARS TO REPAIR. NOT COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. HAVE STUDIED AND FOUND THAT I CAN PROBABLY EXPECT THIS TO HAPPEN AGAIN. AM WORRIED ABOUT FUTURE EXPENSE AND, OR FIRE...... *TR WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR ASSISTANCE. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
I HAVE A 2008 SATURN AND THE LOW BEAN HARNESS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS MELTED AND THE LIGHT BULB SHORTED OUT. THE GM DEALER, GERRY LANE, WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM DUE TO A SERVICE BULLETIN AND SAID IT IS NORMALLY A $300-$400 JOB, BUT THEY WILL REPLACE IT AS A GOOD GESTURE FOR A CHARGE OF $50. THE SERVICE BULLETIN IS "TSB #09-08-42-004 "LOW BEAM HEADLAMP REPLACEMENT/DIAGNOSIS (INSPECT FUSE, BULB, HARNESS, REPLACE HARNESS AND FILL CONNECTOR CAVITY FOR LOW BEAM BULB CONNECTOR WITH NYOGEL GREASE) - (MAY 29, 2009). DOCUMENT ID: 2284787. APPLIES TO MODELS 2007-2009 SATURN OUTLOOK. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AND COULD BE DANGEROUS BY CREATING A FIRE NEXT TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. CUSTOMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS, ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY KNOW THIS IS A FREQUENTLY OCCURRING SAFETY CONDITION. *TR

I HAVE A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK XR FWD AND I HAVE HAD THE HEADLIGHTS REPLACED 4 TIMES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND 3 TIMES ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE LAST TWO PASSENGER SIDE LIGHTS WORKED LONG ENOUGH TO GET IT OUT OF THE SHOP AND TO MY HOUSE FIVE MILES AWAY AND THEN THEY WERE OUT AGAIN. THE HIGH BEAMS DO STILL WORK, JUST NOT THE LOW BEAMS. THERE IS AN OBVIOUS ISSUE HERE AND THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. PLEASE HELP. *TR

HEADLIGHT ON DRIVERS SIDE HAS FAILED 5 TIMES SINCE 7/7/2010. AWFUL TO CHANGE. MUST REMOVE TIRE & FENDER COVER. IT MUST BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM SINCE A COMPANY NAMED, "RACING LAB" OFFERS AN UPGRADE KIT HEAVY DUTY MODEL KYO-PNP-WH-H11. THE UPGRADE KIT OFFERS PROTECTION FROM FACTORY HEADLIGHT CONNECTOR FROM MELTING AND BURNING OUT THE HALOGEN HEADLIGHT BULB. *TR
I OWN A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE HEADLIGHTS, LOW BEAM, HAVE BEEN GOING OUT FOR NO REASON. I THOUGHT THE BULBS BURNT OUT, BUT WHEN I WENT TO REPLACE THEM, THEY CAME BACK ON. I SIMPLY MOVED THE WIRE HARNESS AND THEY TURNED BACK ON. ON ONE OCCASION THE HEADLAMPS WENT OUT AS WE WERE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, AND IT APPEARS TO BE HAPPENING TO OTHER SATURN OUTLOOK OWNERS AS WELL. I FEEL A RECALL IS NEEDED!!!!!!! *TR
2008 SATURN OUTLOOK OWNER AT ABOUT 32,000 MILES THOUGHT THAT I NEEDED A HEADLIGHT BULB, BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND WENT TO REPLACE IT HE NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE WIRE HARENESS WAS MELTED. I TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER AND IT TOOK ABOUT 3 WEEKS FOR THEM TO REPLACE BOTH HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES. THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES ON THE 2008 OUTLOOK I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE TECH THAT DIDN'T MAKE THEM ANY MORE, SO THEY REPLACED THEM WITH PURPLISH BLUISH HEADLIGHTS. I'VE HAD THE NEW ASSEMBLY ON SINCE JULY 2010 AND IT'S NOW NOVEMBER 2010 AND I HAVEN'T HAD NO OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE HEADLAMPS SO FAR. *TR
THE DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP STOPPED WORKING AND THE HARNESS APPEARS TO BE MELTING DUE TO OVERHEATING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS WOULD NOT STAY SECURELY LATCHED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED OR REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000.
THE PASSENGER HEADLAMP WENT OUT ON MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. I BROUGHT IT TO SATURN/MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $650.00 DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE LAMP AND A WIRE HARNESS THAT CONNECTS TO THE BULB. ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE GUY THE WIRE HARNESS IS MOST LIKELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BULB BURNING OUT. THE BULB ITSELF WAS $285.00......FOR A HEADLAMP BULB!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON LINE AND I AM WONDERING WHAT CAN BE DONE TO REMEDY THIS ASTRONOMICAL PRICE FOR REPAIR AND BULB. *TR
1. AT 38000 MILES MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK LOST ONE OF THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS. IT HAS GONE COMPLETELY OUT. 2. IT IS A CONSTANT FAILURE 3. I REPLACED THE LOW BEAM BULB, BUT WHEN I FINALLY GOT THE OLD BULB EXPOSED, I NOTICED THAT THE SOCKET WAS ALL MELTED AND HAD A VERY THIN GAUGE WIRE CONNECTING IT TO THE VEHICLES POWER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS HAD OVERHEATED AND MELTED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHTS AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS REPAIRED BY THE CONTACT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
MY 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK'S PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT SHOWS 'OFF' EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT WITH THE SEATBELT ON. I SAW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE 2007 MODEL BUT NOT ONE ISSUED FOR THE 2008 MODEL. I WANTED TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM DUE TO THE SERIOUSNESS IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT AND THE BAG IS NOT FUNCTIONAL. *TR
2008 SATURN OUTLOOK HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS FAILURE. AT 35,000 MILES THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT WIRING HARNESS HAS MELTED FROM OVERHEATING WITH THE OEM STOCK BULB ATTACHED. UPON INSPECTION THE WIRE AND HOUSING ARE DEFORMED AND FAILING. I REPLACED THE BULB TO RULE OUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A SIMPLE BULB BURN OUT. NOW THE ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS ASSEMBLY WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED JUST AS THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY IS SET TO EXPIRE. ALSO A QUICK SEARCH ON GOOGLE FOR GM SATURN HEADLIGHT HARNESS POINTS TO SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THE EXACT ISSUE. SO THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED CASE, JUST CHEAP WIRING. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP WIRING HARNESS MELTED, CAUSING HEADLAMP NOT TO WORK. CONCERNED ABOUT POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD WHILE DRIVING. REPLACING WIRING HARNESS AND LIGHT BULB. *TR
FIRST LEFT HEADLIGHT WAS GOING IN AND OUT. WAS PULLED OVER BY POLICE WHO SAID IT WAS OUT. TURNED CAR OFF THEN ON AND LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO DEALER WAS REPLACED FOR MALFUNCTION, DEFECT REPAIRED FOR FREE AT 20000 MILES. THEN PARKED CAR NOSE FIRST. WAS UNABLE TO REVERSE CAR OUT OF PARKING SPACE. HAD TO WAIT FOR CAR IN FRONT TO MOVE TO SO I COULD DRIVE OUT FORWARD ONLY. CAR DROVE FORWARD FOR 1 WEEK, THEN COMPLETELY WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE. WAS TOWED TO DEALER AT 39000 MILES AND TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR FREE, COVERED BY WARRANTY. THEN RIGHT HEADLIGHT WAS GOING IN AND OUT AT 44000 MILES. NOT COVERED. FIXED FOR $300. THEN AT THAT TIME WAS TOLD POWERSTEERING UNIT LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR APPROX $800.00. NOW ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THIS CAR IS THE WORSE CAR I EVER HAD, AND I HAD MANY. WHAT NEXT. MY 1999 FORD WINDSTAR IS A BETTER CAR.. *TR
OWN A 2008 OUTLOOK. PASSENGER SIDE LOWBEAM HEADLIGHT KEEPS GOING ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A WIRING HARNESS. DEALER WANTED $400 TO REPLACE BECAUSE 1000 MILES OVER WARRANTY. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT KEEPS BURNING OUT. HAD BULB REPLACED TWICE BUT THEN REALIZED IT HAS BAD WIRING. THE WIRES LEADING INTO THE BULB ARE BAD AND MELTING THE PLASTIC AROUND THEM AND CAUSING BURN MARKS. *TR
WE HAVE A 2008 SATURN OUTLOOK. THE HEADLIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT. THE WIRING HARNESS IS BAD AND THE EXPENSE TO REPLACE IS VERY HIGH ($750). THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE SUBMITTED COMPLAINTS AND COMMENTED IN FORUMS ON THE WEB. THE PROBLEM OCCURS AT RANDOM TIMES. DURING DAYLIGHT, BUT MORE DANGEROUSLY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE IS NO WARNING. I HAVE REPLACED 7 BULBS IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS AND TONIGHT BOTH LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING HOME. IN ORDER TO GET HOME IN SAFETY I HAD TO SWITCH TO HIGH BEAM LIGHTS. THERE IS AN OBVIOUS FLAW WITH THIS LINE OF VEHICLES. *TR
