TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD MELTED AND HAD A GLOSSY FINISH. THE GLARE FROM THE SUN REFLECTED OFF THE DASHBOARD AND RESULTED IN POOR VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. THE CONTACT RECEIVED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM THE MANUFACTURER IN REFERENCE TO THE STRUCTURE OF THE DASHBOARD; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE DID NOT OCCUR UNTIL SIX WEEKS AFTER THE DEADLINE ENDED. THE MANUFACTURER DECLINED TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (KC SUMMERS AUTO GROUP, 117 S 19TH ST, MATTOON, IL, 61938). THE DEALER AGREED WITH THE MANUFACTURER, BUT STATED THAT THEY WOULD ASSIST WITH WHATEVER THE MANUFACTURER STATED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 148,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ALARM WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST, AND THEN BECAME A CONTINUOUS SOUND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS. TOYOTA OF LACROSSE, WISCONSIN (LOCATED AT 800 3RD ST SOUTH LACROSSE, WI 54601 (608) 793-7000) DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE RESERVOIR, WHICH WAS UNDER RECALL, AND THE BRAKE ACTUATOR, IN WHICH THERE WAS NO RECALL, WERE FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT A SERVICE CAMPAIGN/WARRANTY EXTENSION LETTER WAS SENT OUT TO CONSUMERS REGARDING THEIR OWNERSHIP OF 2007 - 2011 TOYOTA CAMRY VEHICLES IN REGARDS TO THE BRAKE FAILURE CONDITION. THE TOYOTA MANUFACTURER PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 170-721-1063. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 201,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. WHILE THE CONTACT'S GIRLFRIEND WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, A HIGH PITCHED ALARM SOUNDED. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP AND CONTINUED TO COAST FORWARD. THE CONTACT HAD TO CONTINUOUSLY PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE TOYOTA OF LACROSSE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE RESERVOIR AND ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED CASE NUMBER: 1707711063. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 201,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED TO WORK. THE ABS, TRIANGLE WITH EXCLAMATION POINT, AND BRAKE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (TOYOTA PASADENA LOCATED AT 3600 E FOOTHILL BLVD, PASADENA, CA 91107; (626) 795-9787) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-331-4331 AND STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED TO PAY $750 FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 1707111743. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,870.
THE DASHBOARD OF MY CAMRY IS MELTING AND GIVING OFF FUMES THAT WE CAN SMELL AND COULD BE HAZARDOUS TO OUR HEALTH. WE HAVE DEVELOPED A COUGHS SINCE THIS HAPPENED. THE FUMES ARE COATING THE INSIDE OF OUR WINDSHIELD AND MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE. I HAVE CONTACTED TOYOTA USA AND TOYOTA JAPAN AND THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN WE HAD DIFFICULTY SEEING THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD.
RECENTLY PURCHASED CAR WIT 85,000 MILES NOT AT 92,000 WE REALIZE IT IS USING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 300 TO 500 MILES. THIS IS UNREALISTIC AND HAVE HEARD OF NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND ACTIONS THAT I WAS UNAWARE OF BY TOYOTA

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO INDICATION FROM THE LOW OIL SENSOR OR GAUGE TO WARN OF THE LOW OIL LEVELS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND MORE OIL HAD TO BE ADDED BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. NEITHER A DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED OR INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 159,000.
UNFORTUNATELY ON 4OF JULY I HAPPEN TO BE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AS IM DRIVING ENTERING THE INTERSECTION TO ENTER FREEWAY I START SMELLING STRONG GAS FUMES HALF WAY INTO THE FREEWAY I START SEEING SMOKE RISE UP SO I PULLED OVER GRABBED WHATEVER I COULD AS I BACK AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE CATCHES ON FIRE I CALL 911 AND UNFORTUNATELY BECAUSE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS OFF THEY TOWED MY VEHICLE THAT IS NOW A TOTAL LOSS I'VE ONLY HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR 4 MONTHS I PURCHASED THROUGH A DEALERSHIP I PUT ALMOST 4000 THE FIRST DOWN PAYMENT AND UNFORTUNATELY BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE FULL COVERAGE EVERYONE I HAVE CONTACT IS NO HELP I ALSO HAD TO RUSH TO THE HOSPITAL THE DAY AFTER I JUST THANK THE LORD I DIDNT HAVE MY CHILDREN WITH ME I HOPE THERE IS SOMETHING THAT YOU GUYS CAN DO FOR ME AND MY FAMILY

THE DRIVER SIDE VISER DOES NOT STAY IN ITS SECURE STORING LOCATION. THE VISOR WILL CONTINUALLY FALL DOWN OBSTRUCTING THE DRIVER'S VIEW OF THE ROAD. THE ONLY WAY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE IS TO HAVE IT OPENED AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD AT ALL TIME.
TAKATA RECALL SUN VISORS FALLING DOWN
TAKATA RECALL..MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HAS DEVELOPED A SHINY STICKY COAT OVER SEVERAL MONTHS WHICH COVERS THE ENTIRE DASH. THE SHININESS OBSTRUCTS DRIVING VISIBILITY AND I HAVE FOUND NOTHING ON THE MARKET TO CLEAN THIS AREA. THE CAR ORIGINALLY CAME FROM FLORIDA AND WAS GARAGE KEPT WHEN I PURCHASED. SEEMS LIKE SOME SORT OF MANUFACTURER DEFECT.
DASHBOARD MELTING. CREATES VISIBILITY ISSUES DUE TO REFLECTION ON WINDSHIELD.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that the oil level warning light illuminated. The contact checked the oil level and became aware that the vehicle had no oil in the engine. The contact added oil and took the vehicle to the dealer. The contact was informed that the engine was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil and that TSB-0030-15 had expired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the service bulletin TSB-0030-15 had already expired. The failure mileage was unknown.
I HAVE BEEN CHANGE OIL BY TOYOTA DEALER, REGULARLY ON AND OFF, SINCE BLAND NEW. BUT ONCE A WHILE, I TOOK DIFFERENT SHOP TO CHANGE PARTS. ABOUT 2012 I LEARN THAT I HAVE PROBLEM WITH STRUT, WHEN I WAS REPLACING TIRES. SO I WENT BACK AND I COMPLAIN ABOUT THE STRUT TO KEARNY MESA TOYOTA, SAN DIEGO, BUT THEY TOLD ME IT IS STILL OKAY TO DRIVE AS IT IS, BUT ABOUT 2014, I STARTING HAVING PROBLEM WITH MY TIRES, SO I WENT TO TOYOTA POWAY, THEY TOLD ME I NEED TO REPLACE STURT ALONG WITH TIRES, SO I REQUEST TO REPLACE STRUT AND TIRES AND THEY CALLED ME THE BEARING NEED TO BE REPLACE AS WELL. I WAS REALLY MAD AND I CONTACT THE TOYOTA, AND KEARNY MESA TOYOTA CONTACT ME THEY WILL REPLACE BEARING FOR ME. NOW AFTER 2 AND HALF YEARS WITH A LITTLE OVER 20K MILE ON THE VEHICLE IT STARTED TO HAVING STRUT LEAK PROBLEM AGAIN. I CONTACT THE TOYOTA POWAY, THEY TOLD ME I NEED TO REPLACE STRUT NEED TO REPLACE AGAIN. I CONTACTED THE TOYOTA AND THEY DON'T WANT TO HELP THIS TIME.
AS I WAS TRAVELING ON I75 NORTH OF ATLANTA, I NEEDED TO SLOW FOR TRAFFIC CONGESTION. I APPLIED THE BRAKES, BUT THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO WORK. SEVERAL LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON INCLUDING THE CHECK HYBRID ENGINE, THE CHECK VSC SYSTEM, AND THE ABS LIGHTS. THE POWER BRAKES WERE OFF AND IT BECAME DIFFICULT TO STOP. THEN THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE STOPPED COMPLETELY REQUIRING ME TO MANEUVER OUT OF HEAVY TRAFFIC TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. I TURNED ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS, BUT WAS ALMOST HIT BY SEVERAL VEHICLES AS I GOT TO THE SHOULDER.
"TAKATA RECALL" SUN VISOR FLOPPED DOWN ON DRIVERS SIDE. APPARENTLY IT'S AN ISSUE WITH 2007-2011 CAMRY'S. CARS THAT ARE OLDER THAN MINE AREN'T HAVING THIS PROBLEM. TOYOTA SHOULD RECOGNIZE THIS ISSUE.
MY PASSENGER SIDE SUN VISOR KEEPS FALLING DOWN AND IS IMPEDING MY LINE OF SIGHT WHILE DRIVING. THE VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP AND REPLACEMENTS SEEM TO ALSO FAIL PER THE SITE LISTED BELOW. MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND I MISSED THE RECALL ON THE DASHBOARD BY 23 DAYS. I CAN'T DRIVE CAR BECAUSE THE REFLECTION OF THE DASHBOARD CAUSES A GLARE ON WINDSHIELD. TOYOTA TELLS ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO.
THE DASHBOARD IS STARTING TO MELT. WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE GETS WARM, 80 DEGREES PLUS, THE DASHBOARD IS SO STICKY YOU CAN NOT PUT YOUR HANDS ON IT.
BASICALLY THE ABS ACTUATOR IT'S FAILING LIKE IN THE HYBRID MODEL BUT ARE NOT COVERED BY THE TOYOTA EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH IS COMPLETELY UNFAIR AS THE PART FAILING IT'S THE SAME BASIC ABS PART BUT ON DIFFERENT NON-ELECTRIC VARIANT
THE DASHBOARD APPEARS TO BE MELTING. LEARNED THAT THERE IS A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT ON THE VEHICLE BUT TOYOTA SAYS THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT ENDED AS OH MAY 31, 2017. CAR WAS PURCHASE ON 2/8/08 WITHIN THE GEN YEAR MARK AS A CERTIFIED PRE OWNED VEHICLE. DID NOT RECEIVE A NOTICE OR CALL ABOUT THIS WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT AND WAS TOLD BY TOYOTA THAT NOTHING CAN BE DONE BECAUSE IT WAS A MANDATE BY THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC ADMINISTRATION
The dashboard melts. I went to toyota representatives many time and they didn’t help. It is really dangerous when the reflection of the melted dashboard blinds the driver.

LUCKILY FOR ME THERE WAS LIGHT TRAFFIC AND NO ONE WAS STOPPED IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN THE ALARMS WENT OFF I HAD A TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKING FUNCTIONALITY INCLUDING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE UNTIL MY SPEED WAS DOWN BELOW 20MPH. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY PROVIDED BY TOYOTA TO COVER THE ISSUE SHOULD NOT BE SUFFICIENT AS TOYOTAS ARE RELIABLE AND RUN FOR FAR LONGER THAN THE WARRANTY COVERED, MAKING THE VEHICLES COMPLETELY UNSAFE FOR PURCHASE AS A USED CAR. THE ALARMS ON THE VEHICLE CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF, THIS WAS THE 2ND TIME THE ALARMS HAD OCCURRED THE FIRST WAS IN A PARKING LOT WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING SO I DIDN'T REALIZE MY BRAKES WERE AFFECTED, AT THAT TIME THE COMPUTER DID NOT EVEN REGISTER AN ALARM CODE SO TOYOTA DID NOTHING CALLING IT A GLITCH WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN, EVEN THOUGH IT'S APPARENTLY A KNOWN ISSUE.
HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION AND EXCESSIVE OIL BURNING. LAST OIL CHANGE, THE TECH STATED CHECK OIL REGUARLY (EVERY 2 WEEKS) CAR IS BURNING OIL. THERE ARE NO OIL LEAKS.
THE ENGINE LOCKED UP AND FAILED WHILE ON A OVER NIGHT TRIP LEAVING PASSENGERS STRANDED IN THE DARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON ONLY MINUTES BEFORE, NOT ALLOWING FOR ADEQUATE TIME TO INTERVENE. WE WERE UNAWARE AT THE TIME OF THE ENGINES PROBLEM WITH EXCESSIVE BURNING OF OIL. THE GARAGE MECHANICS WERE EXPECTING TO FIND AN OIL LEAK AS THE PROBLEM FOR THE ENGINE BURNING UP AND WERE SURPRISED TO FIND NO LEAK. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED 8 MONTHS AGO, PRE-OWNED WITH 72,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN THE ENGINE FAILED IT HAD 89,000 MILES ON IT AND $9000 LEFT ON THE LOAN. RELUCTANT TO PAY THOUSANDS TO HAVE THE ENGINE REPLACED SINCE THE ENGINE IS KNOWN TO HAVE THIS RECURRING PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ASSIST SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY AND THE WHOLE DASHBOARD OF THE CAR IS EXTREMELY STICKY. AS IF THE PUT GLUE ALL OVER IT. I WANT TO KNOW HOW I AM ABLE TO REMOVE THIS STICKINESS WITHOUT HAVING TO CHANGE THE WHOLE DASHBOARD.
THE VSC SYSTEM IS OUT AND NO ONE KNOW HOW TO FIX IT EVEN THE DEALER IT NOT SHOWING UP ON THE SCANNERS .I WAS ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR LIGHTS CON ON ON DASH. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE CARFAX INFORMATION AND FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE'S YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL WAS UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR SIMILAR BRAKE ISSUES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WITH THE ENGINE ON. IN 2014 TOYOTA ISSUED A WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT NOTIFICATION - ZE1 FOR THE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY ISSUE. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE PROBLEM WAS CORRECTED. A MONTH AGO (2 YEARS LATER) THE SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS OCCURRED (SAME 5 WARNING LIGHTS). I CALLED TOYOTA AND THEY SAID SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS ALREADY CORRECTED, THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT ZE1 NO LONGER APPLIED. SEEMS TO BE A RECURRENT PROBLEM THAT TOYOTA SHOULD WARRANTY.
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING IN HOT SUNLIGHT. THIS CREATES A VERY REFLECTIVE SURFACE THAT MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE DURING A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY.
MY TOYOTA DID NOT EXHIBIT THE STICKY DASHBOARD UNTIL JUNE OF 2017. I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL ONLY WENT UNTIL MAY 0F 2017 AND WAS REFUSED BY TOYOTA. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IT WAS A DEFINITE FACTORY DEFECT AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECTED. NOW I HAVE THIS CONTINOUS GLARE WHICH AFFECTS BOTH DAY AND NIGHT VISABILITY.
I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW AND I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE DASHBOARD UNTIL JUNE 2017. I TOOK IT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP BECUSE I READ ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS WAS A DEFECT WITH THE CAR. I ALSO NEVER REVEIVED A LETTER FROM TOYOTA REGARDING THE DASHBOARD. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO TOYOTA THEY SAID IT WAS STICKY AND THEY ORDERED A NEW DASHBOARD. I TOOK THE CAR IN THEN GOT A PHONECALL FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT TOYOTA WOULD NOT COVER THE COST BECAUSE IT WAS AFTER MAY 2017. NOW IT IS BECOMING A SAFTEY ISSUE BECASE OF THE MELTING IT IS REFLECTING ON MY WINDSHIELD WHICH IS A SAFTEY HAZARD WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR WHEN THE SUN IS OUT. TOYATA CORPORATE TOLD ME THEY MAKE NO EXCEPTIONS. WHAT CAN I DO?

DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR BROKE, IT WAS CHANGED BY TOYOTA A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO BUT NOW IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THEY JUST PUT THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART.
ONE OR THE OTHER LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS RANDOMLY GOES OFF WHEN DRIVING. IT'S A RECURRING PROBLEM. DEALER REPLACE BOTH BULB AND BOTH TRANSFORMERS AT A COST OF $1160.
RED AIRBAG ALERT INDICATOR HAS COME ON. THE CAR WAS NOT IN MOTION. THE ENGINE WAS OFF, AND WHERN I STARTED IT, THE LIGHT CAME ON!.
EVERY SINCE I PURCHASE THIS CAR IT HAS BEEN USING EXCESSIVE OIL.EVER SO OFTEN THE BLINKING OIL LIGHT WOULD COME ON CAUSING ME TO STOP AND POUR OIL IN.ZTHIS HAS OCCURRED IN MOTION AND ON CITY HIGHWAYS.
