I HAD 1000 MILES LEFT TIL MY NEXT OIL CHANGE AND ON THE DAY THE PROBLEM HAPPENED ONE OF THE PISTONS BLEW UP BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OIL LEFT IN THE CAR ALSO THE OIL LIGHT NEVER CAME ON INDICATING I NEEDED OIL. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS VEHICLE I HAVE SERVICE RECORDS OF ALL OIL CHANGES ON TIME. TOYOTA NEVER SENT OUT A MAIL REGAURDING THIS PROBLEM
DASHBOARD MELTING
THE ENGINE HAS FAILED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. I DID NOT KNOW THIS WAS AN ISSUE, BUT NOW HAVE BEEN TOLD I AM OUTSIDE OF THE WINDOW THAT THEY WILL REPAIR. I DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS A WINDOW.
I HAVE GONE ABOUT 2,000 MILES OF THE 5,000 MILES AN OIL CHANGE SHOULD LAST IN MY CAMRY. I CHECKED THE OIL BECAUSE WHEN DRIVING AND BRAKING HARD THE OIL LIGHT APPEARED BRIEFLY. I CHECKED THE OIL AND IT APPEARED TO BE ALMOST EMPTY, I PUT 2 QUARTS OF OIL AND IT ONLY BROUGHT THE TOTAL LEVEL JUST ABOVE THE LOW LEVEL LINE ON THE DIPSTICK. THIS TELLS ME I COULD STAND TO BUY ANOTHER QUART AND PUT AT LEAST ANOTHER HALF QUART. I'VE KEPT UP WITH ALL OF THE MAINTENANCE WITH THIS CAR, HAVING JUST INSTALLED A NEW OIL PAN GASKET RECENTLY.
EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION: MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY IS CONSUMING 1 QUART OF ENGINE OIL EVERY 1,200 MILES BASED ON A LATENT DESIGN DEFECT IN THE ENGINE PISTONS AND PISTON RINGS. TOYOTA ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN AND SET THE OIL CONSUMPTION LEVELS AT A RIDICULOUS LEVEL (1.2 QUARTS PER 1,200 MILES) AND THEY CONTINUE TO REJECT MY REQUEST TO PAY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY SAY THIS IS NORMAL. FUNNY NONE OF MY OTHER 5 TOYOTA'S HAVE EVER DONE THIS!! I STRONGLY BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE AND HAS A SIGNIFICANT MONETARY COST TO FIX THE ISSUE. TOYOTA KNOWS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM AND WOULDN'T PAY TO FIX THE ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY EQUIPPED WITH STARFIRE SOLARUS TIRES, SIZE: 215/60/16 (NA). WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT. UPON INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE TREAD WAS SEPARATED FROM THE STEEL BELT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS EXCESSIVE DAMAGE DUE TO THE BLOWOUT. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 149,000. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. *TR
THE DASH HAS ALL CRACKED.
DASH BOARD IS REALLY STICKY
MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY CE WITH THE 2.4L 4 CYLINDER ENGINE IS CONSUMING ENGINE OIL AT AN EXCESSIVE RATE. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING TOYOTA FACTORY "EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST", AND SHOWING LOW OIL ON DIPSTICK. ON LINE RESEARCH HAS INDICATED MANY OWNERS LEARNING EITHER THEIR DEALER OR TOYOTA, OR BOTH ARE HESITANT OR REFUSING TO PERFORM CORRECTIVE ACTION AT NO COST TO THE CURRENT OWNER. ON LINE RECOMMENDATION IS THAT THIS COMPLAINT SHOULD BE FILED WITH YOUR AGENCY ALONG WITH TWO OTHER ENTITIES INVOLVED IN MONITORING TOYOTA MOTOR COMPANY AND TOYOTA DEALER RESPONSE AND REMEDIAL ACTION.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED THE USED CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THEY FIXED THE ISSUE BUT THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS STILL ON AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE AIRBAG TO MALFUNCTION AND THE POSSIBLE ISSUES THAT MAY ARISE SHOULD I BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT.
THE LEFT FRONT LUG NUTS DO NOT STAY TIGHTENED. EACH YEAR, OVER THE LAST 4 YEARS, WHEN CHANGING TIRES FROM THE SUMMER TIRES TO THE WINTER SNOW TIRES, THE LEFT FRONT LUG NUTS DO NOT STAY TIGHTENED. THIS FIRST CAME TO MY ATTENTION WHEN MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ALONE, IN AN ISOLATED AREA, 200 MILES FROM HOME, WHEN THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL ALMOST CAME COMPLETELY OFF BEFORE IT WAS DISCOVERED AS BEING A PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS MOVING FORWARD AT THE SPEED LIMIT ON A 2 LANE ROAD. THIS YEAR, SINCE NOVEMBER 15, I HAVE RETIGHTENED THE LUG NUTS AT LEAST 6 TIMES. I HAVE TRIED LOCK TIGHT. IT DOES NOT WORK VERY WELL. *TR
EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL USE. OIL BLOWS OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE. THE BUILDUP FOR OIL RESIDUE AT THE TAIL PIPE MAKES ME VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A FIRE. WENT THROUGH THE LOCAL DEALER WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO PROBLEM OR OIL USE. HAD THE LOCAL MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND HE FOUND EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. NOW HERE WE ARE WITH A DEFECTIVE ENGINE AND A COMPLETE LACK OF TRUST IN THE CAR EITHER MECHANICALLY OR FOR SAFETY. THE VALVE COVER GASKET LEAKS AUSPICIOUSLY WITHOUT KNOWING YOU ARE LOSING OIL BECAUSE THERE IS NO LEAK BELOW THE CAR. ON THREE OCCASIONS I WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE ENGINE. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT THE ENGINE BURNING UP WITHOUT NOTICE.
DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR CAME DOWN UN EXPECTANTLY AND BECAME A DRIVING HAZARD, IT HAD TO BE REMOVED THUS MAKING DRIVING MORE UN SAFE. I HAD TO PURCHASE A IMPROVED SUN VISOR FROM THE DEALER WHICH TOYOTA HAD CORRECTED THE FAULTY SUN VISOR THERE FORE WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, TOYOTA ALSO STARTED A SHORT TERM VOLUNTARY RECALL HOWEVER IT SEEMED TO BE AT THERE DISCRETION WHO RECEIVED THE REPAIR AND WHO DID NOT, WHAT FACTORS THEY USED TO DISCRIMINATE BETWEEN CUSTOMERS I DO NOT KNOW. IT IS MY HABIT TO ASK THE DEALER EVERY TIME I GO THERE FOR SERVICE IF THERE ARE ANY RECALLS OR ADVISORIES OPEN ON MY 07 CAMRY, THEY HAVE ALWAYS SAID NO! SO APPARENTLY THEY LIED TO ME ON THIS ISSUE ANY WAY, AND I HAD NO OTHER WAY TO FIND OUT SINCE THEY DID NOT DISCLOSE IT TO THE PUBLIC. MY CAR WAS IN MOTION ON A BUSY CITY STREET GOING AROUND A TURN WHEN IT CAME DOWN AND TEMPORARY BLINDED ME. IF A PEDESTRIAN HAD HOPED OUT TO CROSS THE STREET, I WOULD OF STRUCT THAT PERSON!
TOO MANY PROBLEM WITH MY TOYOTA CAMRY 2007 V6 FIRST IS DASH BOARD MELT STICKY AND NOW ABS LIGHT LIT ON PERMANENTLY.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION
KNOWN ISSUE OF EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION WHERE THE OIL CHANGE LIGHT COMES ON JUST INTO 1,000 MILES AFTER CHANGING OIL. THE LOCAL DEALER AT IRA TOYOTA OF TEWKSBURY, MA.01876 - TRIED TO FIX THE PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME BUT THE PROBLEM CAME BACK OR WAS STILL THERE. I HAVE SINCE COMPLAINED TO TOYOTA US AT 1-800-331-4331 THEY OPENED A CASE#1701232302 FOR MY ISSUE BUT NOW SAY THAT THE LOCAL TOYOTA AND EVEN REGIONAL STORES CANNOT TAKE MY CAR BACK TO FIX IT AGAIN THE LOCAL STORE SAYS THAT I AM OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE I CAME BACK AFTER 14,379 MILES I AM NOW STUCK WITH A CAR THAT HAS ALREADY STOPPED ON ME RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET - WITH THE STEERING WHEELING BLOCKING SUDDENLY AND FOR ME HAVING TO VEER QUICKLY ON THE CURB WHILE THE STEERING WHEEL IS HARD TO CONTROL. I CAN HEAR A SQUEELING NOISE WHEN I CHANGE GEARS ( MANUAL CAR) AND WHEN I PUT THE FOOT ON THE CLUTCH. THE CAR SHAKES A LOT WHEN I CHANGE GEARS AND I AM ABOUT TO STOP. I AM AFRAID FOR MY SAFETY AND OF COURSE LOTS OF INCONVENIENCES BECAUSE I CANNOT USE THIS CAR FOR MANY ACTIVITIES INVOLVING MY FAMILY OR JUST ANYWHERE PAST 10 MILES OF MY HOUSE. I AM HOPING THAT I CAN GET HELP WITH THIS ISSUE WHICH IS A KNOWN ISSUE BY TOYOTA, AN ISSUE THAT THEY DID NOT FIX PROPERLY IN THE FIRST PLACE AND NOW THEY ARE JUST HOPING THAT I CAN GO AWAY BY DENYING ME MY RIGHTS TO PROPER SERVICE. I TOLD TOYOTA US THAT IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE HOW A KNOWN ISSUE CAN BE FIXED AND JUST WITHIN 1 YEAR IT COMES BACK.
THE ENGINE BURNS THROUGH THE OIL IN ABOUT 2500 MILES. I HAVE TO CARRY AROUND EXTRA OIL TO REFILL IT AT A MOMENTS NOTICE. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE ENGINE FREEZING UP AS I AM DRIVING.
DASH IS MELTING ESPECIALLY IN HOT WEATHER.
2007 CAMRY HAS BEEN BURNING OIL FOR YEARS AND IS REALLY BAD. HAVE TO ADD MORE THAN A QUART EVERY TIME I FUEL UP. RIDICULOUS

ABS ACTUATOR FAILS AT RANDOM, CAUSING CAR THE ACCELERATE WHEN TRYING TO SLOWDOWN AND BRAKES STOP WORKING. CHECK VSC SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT APPEARS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 42 MPH, THE ABS FAILED. IN ADDITION, THE VCS AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED, AND AN ALARM SOUNDED. IN ADDITION, SMOKE APPEARED UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS ON THE FREEWAY IN TRAFFIC. WHEN I STEP ON THE BRAKE, THE CAR DIDN'T MAKE A FULL STOP. I END UP HITTING THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME. WHEN MY CAR STRUCK THE VEHICLE IN FRONT, THE AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY.
BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED WITH BRAKE, CHECK CSV SYSTEM AND ABS LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DECLARED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED SHORTLY AFTERWARDS. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT AND OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
ABS ACTUATOR HAS FAILED. SEVERAL LIGHTS ARE ON AND THE BRAKES ARE FAILING.
VISOR ON DRIVER'S SIDE KEEPS FALLING DOWN AND IS A HAZARD WHEN DRIVING. APPARENTLY TOYOTA ISSUED A RECALL AND I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. TOYOTA HAS MY UPDATED ADDRESS AND I CONSTANTLY RECEIVE NOTICES FROM TOYOTA BUT DID NOT RECEIVE THIS ONE AND THE DEADLINE FOR WARRANTY RECALL HAS EXPIRED. *TR
MY CAR CAMRY HYBRID 2007 HAVE ALL LIGHT ON: MASTER WARNING LIGHT, BRAKE WARNING LIGHT, CONTROLLED BRAKE WARNING, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM, SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT. ALSO THE BRAKE IS SO HARD THAT I WAS CLOSE TO HIT CAR, I CALL TOYOTA IN ORLANDO,FLORIDA BUT THEY TOLL ME THEY DON'T HAVE ANY RECALL AND NORMALLY IS ECU PEDAL STROKE SENSOR AND ABS MODULE SYSTEM, BOTH PARTS COST IS $3,500.

MY CAMRY IS HAVING EXCESSIVE ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION! I JUST WENT 2000 MILES AND I AM OUT OF OIL. TOYOTA IS SAYING MY YEAR AND MAKE SHOULD BE BURNING 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000-1200 MILES AND THAT IS NORMAL. HAVE THEY LOST THERE MINDS!!! THAT IS NOT NORMAL!!!! CAR BRAKE FAILS WITH MULTIPLE LIGHTS ON. ( VSC SYSTEM CHECK , ABS , BRAKE , ETC ) IT WAS REPAIRED BY TOYOTA DEALER UNDER "TOYOTA RECALL" PROGRAM FOR "BRAKE-FLUID PROBLEM" . BUT THEY DIDN'T REPAIR " ABS ACTUATOR" UNDER WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM (ZE1). & MANAGER SAID YOUR VIN IS/WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ZE1. I LOOKED INTO "ZE1" PROGRAM, HTTP://WWW-ODI.NHTSA.DOT.GOV/ACMS/CS/JAXRS/DOWNLOAD/DOC/UCM458138/INOT-PE14001-59690.PDF BUT I DON'T SEE MY VIN IN THE RANGE PROVIDED., NOT SURE WHY. SINCE MY CAR IS 2007 CAMRY HYBRID, IT SHOULD BE PART OF THAT RECALL ALSO. THIS IS LIFE THREATENING SITUATION WHERE YOUR CAR BREAKS FAIL ALL OF SUDDEN ON HIGHWAYS. THESE CARS SHOULD BE RECALLED OR ATLEAST GET REPAIRED AT TOYOTA'S COST. *TR
VEHICLE HAS A OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE THAT HAS LEAD TO ENGINE FAILURE. VEHICLE CONSUMES OIL QUICKLY WITHOUT SIGNS OF OIL LEAK. WE CHANGED THE OIL AND DISCOVERED IT WAS USING A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL IN A SHORT TIME PERIOD. DRIVER WAS NOT AWARE OIL WAS BEING CONSUMED AT SUCH A HIGH RATE. DRIVER ONLY DISCOVERED ISSUE AFTER RECENTLY CHANGING OIL AND CHECKING IT. THE ONLY REASON WE CHECKED THE OIL IS BECAUSE WE HEARD KNOCKING SOUNDS FROM THE ENGINE. WHEN WE CHECKED THE DIP STICK IT HAD NO OIL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BURNING OIL EXCESSIVELY, APPROXIMATELY TWO QUARTS PER WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TUFANKJIAN TOYOTA OF BRAINTREE (210 UNION STREET, BRAINTREE, MA 02184) WHERE A FUEL CONSUMPTION TEST WAS COMPLETED. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT DID NOT RECEIVE A NOTIFICATION REGARDING THE EXTENDED REPAIR DEADLINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 1706022014. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
THIS VEHICLE USES AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL THAT COULD RESULT IN ENGINE FAILURE.
THE CAR KEEPS CONSUMING TOO MUCH OIL. I HAVE TO PUT IN NEW OIL ABOUT EVERY 1,000 MILES.
MADE A 90 DEGREE TURN TO PARK CAR, CAR RAPIDLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO A WALL WITHIN 25 FEET OF TURNING CAUSING AUTO BODY DAMAGE. DATA RECORDER REPORT PULLED FROM THIRD PARTY SHOWS LAST FIVE SECONDS BEFORE IMPACT AND RECORDED WITHIN .3 MILLISECONDS RPB WENT FROM 400 TO 2000 AND SPEED WENT FROM 3.7 MPH TO 9.9 MPH. TOYOTA WROTE BACK AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH CAR. IF YOU REVIEW CRASH SITE AND DISTANCE CAR TURNED TO THE BUILDING, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCELERATE THAT QUICKLY IN THAT SHORT OF DISTANCE. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET TURNING INTO A PRIVATE PARKING LOT.
IN 2013, I SUSPECTED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH OIL CONSUMPTION & ASKED THE MB SERVICE CENTER TO BEGIN INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE. AT THAT TIME, THE WARRANTY THAT CAME WITH THE CAR WAS STILL ACTIVE. I RETURNED AFTER DRIVING 1,000-1,200 MILES & WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO ASCERTAIN WHETHER THERE WAS A TRUE ISSUE AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME $800 TO OPEN THE ENGINE. I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. IN EARLY 2016, I RECEIVED THE T-SB-0158-14 SERVICE BULLETIN FROM TOYOTA NOTIFYING ME THAT I COULD TAKE THE CAR IN TO HAVE THIS EXACT ISSUE RESOLVED AT NO COST. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE CULVER CITY LOCATION, BUT I RETURNED 3 HOURS LATER TO FIND THAT NO WORK HAD BEEN DONE. A MEMBER OF THE SERVICE TEAM ADVISED THAT THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK THAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED BEFORE THEY COULD BEGIN THE CONSUMPTION TEST. THIS IS MY FIRST ISSUE WITH TOYOTA'S SERVICE. TOYOTA SHIFTED THE RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE THIS OIL LEAK FIXED ON TO ME EVEN THOUGH I MADE THEM AWARE OF AN OIL RELATED ISSUE MORE THAN 2 YEARS PRIOR. A KNOWLEDGEABLE SERVICE CENTER MEMBER WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT DEFECTIVE PISTONS AND RINGS IS A DIRECTLY RELATED CAUSE OF A LEAK. BEING THAT I WAS NOT A KNOWLEDGEABLE CONSUMER AT THAT TIME, THE SERVICE CENTER WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THIS RESPONSIBILITY ON TO ME. I HAD THE OIL LEAK REPAIRED AND ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED A 3RD TIME WHEN I CALLED TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT IN NOVEMBER 2016. THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE ASKED WHAT THE REASON WAS FOR MY VISIT. I EXPLAINED THAT I WANTED TO COME BACK TO INITIATE THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND WAS ADVISED THAT I HAD JUST MISSED THE CUT OFF AND THAT THEY WERE NOT REPAIRING ANY MORE VEHICLES AFTER OCTOBER 31, 2016. THIS IS MY SECOND ISSUE WITH CULVER CITY TOYOTA'S SERVICE. THERE WAS SECONDARY COVERAGE AVAILABLE FOR ME AT THAT TIME AND I WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THAT OPTION. MY CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN ELIGIBLE FOR REPAIRS ON ALL THREE OCCASIONS
TOYOTA WILL NOT HONOR RECALL OF BAD RINGS. HAVE WASTED MANY WORK DAYS AT DEALER SHIP. HAVE GOTTEN PROOF THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM THEY REFUSE TO HONOR EXTENSION. BURNS 2 AND A 1/4 QUARTS OF OIL IN 1100 MILES!
SO AFTER LOVING MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY FOR MANY GOOD YEARS, MY HEARTACHE STARTED WHEN IT BEGAN USING OIL TO THE TUNE OF VISIBLE LOSS ON DIPSTICK AT 800 MILES. I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND LITTLE OR NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK SO I STARTED WATCHING IT CLOSELY. I CONFIRMED THAT MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY CAR BURNS A BIT MORE THAN 2 QUARTS EVERY 800-1000 MILES. I CALLED TOYOTA AND ASKED THEM ABOUT THE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ON MY 2AZ-FET AND I TOLD THEM I OWN 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY 4CYL LE, THEY ASKED IF I HAD RECEIVED THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE NOTICE VIA TOYOTA. I TOLD THEM I NEVER REC'D NOTICE AND WAS TOLD I WAS TIME BARRED, WAS NOT ELIGIBLE TO GET IT FIXED? MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AS THE PRIMARY COVERAGE OFFERED WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT ENDED ON OCTOBER 31, 2016 REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE AND THE SECONDARY COVERAGE WAS APPLICABLE FOR 10 YEARS FROM THE (DOFU) DATE OF FIRST USE OR 150,000 MILES, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST. I WAS DRIVING INTO MY GARAGE AND HAD JUST BRAKE TO LET IT EASE IN. MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE, WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY REVVED AND LUNGED FORWARD. THE BRAKE WOULD NOT WORK, AND IT WAS AS IF THE CAR HAD A MIND OF ITS OWN. IT HIT THE CRATE THAT WAS IN FRONT OF THE WALL, AND FORCED A BIKE RACK THROUGH THE WALL. THE FRONT BUMPER OF MY CAR WAS CRACKED IN PLACES. THE CAR THEN STOPPED. SO SCARY! I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT TALK TO ME. I NEEDED TO CALL THE CORPORATION, WHICH I DID. AFTER TWO MONTHS OF WAITING ON A DECISION, I WAS TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR, AND THAT'S THAT. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER INCIDENTS WITH TOYOTAS JUST LIKE MINE. I AM PETRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR, AND YET I AM ALSO AFRAID TO PASS IT ON TO SOMEONE ELSE. ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS ARE GOING ON AND OFF. ALSO, THE GAGES ARE ACTING CRAZY. WORKING SOMETIME AND NOT WORKING OTHER TIMES. THE AIR CONDITIONER IS WORKING SOMETIMES AND NOT WORKING OTHER. SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE ABS PUMP/MODULE! THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS!!
DRIVING DOWN A HILL AFTER LEAVING HOME, WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THE VEHICLE SWERVED BACK AND FORTH VIOLENTLY ALMOST CHANGING LANES. AFTERWARD, IT WOBBLED SIDE TO SIDE AND UP ROCKED UP AND DOWN AS I LIMPED IT HOME AT VERY LOW SPEED. THE LOWER RIGHT REAR CONTROL ARM, THE ONE THAT CAN BE ADJUSTED, WAS EXTENDED CAUSING THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL TO BE COCKED INWARDLY AT THE LEADING SIDE OF THE WHEEL AND TIRE. A WEEK OR SO LATER, THE CAR WAS TOWED TO LES SCHWAB TIRE CENTER, 10340 SW CANYON RD, BEAVERTON, OR 97005, (503) 643-9446. THEY REPORTED THE LONG THREADED ADJUSTING SLEEVE HAD ITS THREADS STRIPPED AND THE PART FAILED. THIS SHOP HAD LAST INSPECTED THE CAR IN AUGUST OF 2016 DURING A TIRE ROTATION. THEY PERFORMED A 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE PURCHASE OF A SET OF TIRES IN ABOUT PRIOR TO THAT. I HAVE PHOTOS OF THE CONDITION AS I DISCOVERED IT ON MY PHONE. I CAN E-MAIL OR TEXT THEM SEPARATELY. AT PRESENT, I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DOWNLOAD THEM INTO MY COMPUTER TO INCLUDE THEM WITH THIS REPORT. I HAVE INSTRUCTED LES SCHWAB TO KEEP THE PART FOR ME. THEY WILL REPAIR AND ALIGN THE CAR TODAY OR TOMORROW. I WILL TAKE THE PART TO BEAVERTON TOYOTA FOR INSPECTION WHEN THE WORK IS COMPLETE. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT, ACCIDENT, ABNORMAL CURB CONTACT, ETC. WITH THE CAR. THE CAR'S MILEAGE IS 177+K. AFTER I DETERMINED THE CAR NEEDED REPAIR, I KEPT IT AT HOME UNTIL I COULD INSPECT IT AND DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO LES SCHWAB TODAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE ENTIRE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. TOYOTA WILL NOW OFFER ANY COVERAGE OR WARRANTY. ISSUE JUST STARTED SHOWING ITSELF THIS PAST FALL AND ONCE I LEARNED OF THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN, TOYOTA SAID IT WAS PAST THEIR 10/31/16 DATE AND THE FACT THAT THE CARE WAS PAST THE 10 YEAR PIS DATE (BY 4 DAYS). THEY NOW SAY THIS IS A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG HERE WITH THIS MANY PROBLEMS FOR MANY, MANY CAMRY OWNERS AND NO TYPE OF RECALL WAS EVER ISSUED. VERY FRUSTRATING AND VERY DISAPPOINTING IN TOYOTA. HAVE HAD NO OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS CAR OR WITH TOYOTA IN MY 10 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. WILL NOW NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER TOYOTA AGAIN.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION - NOT SAFE MY FAMILY IS EXTREMELY LOYAL TO THE TOYOTA BRAND AND WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANY MAJOR ISSUES WITH AN OF OUR VEHICLES IN THE PAST. I NOTICED THAT MY 2007 CAMRY SE 2.4L V4 HAD BEEN BURNING OIL EXTREMELY FAST A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO.AT FIRST, A MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY VALVE COVER GASKET AS THAT WAS WHAT HE PRESUMED TO BE THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE. AFTER I PAID TO GET THAT REPLACED I NOTICED THAT MY ENGINE WAS STILL BURNING OIL AT AN EXTREMELY FAST RATE. I PROCEEDED TO CHANGE MY PCV VALVE AND SWITCH TO A SYNTHETIC-BLEND. NOTHING AT ALL HAS HELPED WITH THE OIL CONSUMPTION. IT IS DRAINING MY POCKETS AND TIME. MULTIPLE MECHANICS HAVE CONFIRMED THAT THERE ARE NO OIL LEAKS. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE THIS ISSUE IS EXTREMELY DRAINING AND UNSAFE.MY CAR BURNS OVER 1 QUART EVERY THOUSAND MILES. I BELIEVE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH MY ENGINE, I'VE READ SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND NEED TO GET THIS FIXED. I HOPE THAT TOYOTA CAN HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE.
SINCE MOVING TO SAN ANTONIO, TX 8/30/16 MY DASHBOARD HAS BEGUN MELTING AND HAS BECOME TACKY AND SHINY. THE GLARE HITS MY WINDSHIELD MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT TIMES. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR RECALL REPAIRS ON 10/31/16 AND ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY OTHER KNOWN ISSUE. I WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT UNTIL 10/25/17 AND WAS INFORMED I MISSED THE 5/25/17 DEADLINE. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE AND NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE.
