VEHICLE HAS PROBLEM WITH EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. LOW ENGINE OIL INDICATOR ON DESPITE OIL BEING IN THE SYSTEM. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE DEALER, AND TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE, BECAUSE I DID NOT RECEIVE NOTIFICATION AND THAT THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AFTER THE TIME PERIOD THAT THEY GAVE FOR REMEDIATION, THEY CAN DO NOTHING. I HAVE HAD TO PARK THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE IT IS SAID THAT THE ENGINE COULD SEIZE, AT ANY TIME, CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD.
NEW WATER PUMP INSTALLED AT TIME OF PURCHASE IN 2013 AT 89K MILES. ENGINE CURRENTLY AT 151K MILES AS OF 10/2016 AND WATER PUMP NEEDS REPLACING AGAIN. ESTIMATED ~$1200+ FOR 15HRS LABOR AND PARTS.
ABS ACTUATOR PROBLEM: MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HAS A FAILED ABS ACTUATOR. THIS WILL COST ME $2,000 TO REPLACE. THE ABS AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE TACHOMETER STARTED FLUCTUATING WILDLY, SO I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR 9.5 YEARS AND IT HAS ABOUT 78,000 MILES ON IT, SO I BELIEVE THE ORIGINAL PART SHOULD HAVE LASTED LONGER. I AM AWARE OF THE ABS ACTUATOR PROBLEMS ON THE 2007-08 CAMRY HYBRID MODELS, SO I THINK YOU SHOULD INVESTIGATE THE ABS ACTUATORS ON THE REGULAR CAMRY MODELS TOO.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREE WAY THE FIRST TIME THIS EVENT HAPPENED TO ME. MY BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING THAT MY BRAKE WAS ON I PULLED OVER TO CHECK IT AND MY BRAKE WAS OFF. WHEN I WENT BACK ON THE FREEWAY ALL OF MY WARNING LIGHTS TURNED ON AND IT WAS VERY HARD TO BRAKE I HAD TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL REALLY HARD TO EVEN GET MY CAR TO STOP. THE WARNING LIGHTS WILL STAY ON FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES OR SO AND THEN THE BRAKES LOCK AND COME TO A SUDDEN STOP. I TOOK IT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP WHO SOLD ME MY CAR AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME IT BECAME QUITE DANGEROUS. THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY GOING 65 (THE SPEED LIMIT). I WAS BEING VERY CAUTIOUS WITH MY CAR SINCE THAT HAPPENED. ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN. I WAS ON A FREEWAY RAMP MERGING TO GET ONTO A DIFFERENT FREE WAY SECTION. I COULD NOT BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN. FINALLY WHEN I PUSHED THE PEDAL HARD ENOUGH MY BRAKES LOCKED AND I DID A 360 ALMOST HITTING TWO CARS PASSING ME. MY CAR IS AT THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP RIGHT NOW THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR LIKE THIS AFTER IT DID THE 360 AT 60 MPH. PLEASE HELP I SUBMITTED PICTURES OF ALL THE LIGHTS THAT COME ON THE PICTURE IS MISSING THE ABS BUT THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON AS WELL. I ALSO SUBMITTED WHAT I THINK IS THE PROBLEM ALSO. *TR
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING OUR CAMRY TO WORK ON DRY CITY PAVEMENT. SHE WAS GOING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION (HER LIGHT WAS GREEN) WHEN SHE WAS HIT BY A CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE IMPACT WAS HARD ENOUGH IT SPUN HER AROUND ON A DRY CITY STREET AND MADE THE CAR JUMP A CURB. THE ESCALADE RAN A RED LIGHT. THE SIDE IMPACT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. TOYOTA SAID THEY BEHAVED AS EXPECTED. *TR
THE ENGINE IS BURNING OIL EXCESSIVELY. IT IS LOSING ABOUT 2 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 1500 MILES.
MY ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR WAS DIAGNOSED AS FAULTY. I'VE CAR IS LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD AND HAS ONLY 22,000 MILES ON IT SO NHTSA ACTION #PE14001 SHOULD APPLY. THE TOYOTA DEALERS REFUSE TO HONOR THE AGREEMENT BECAUSE I AM IN FLORIDA NOW BUT I PURCHASED THE CAR ON GUAM
DASHBOARD IS STICKY TO THE TOUCH AND HAS A SHINY APPEARANCE MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE DUE TO THE REFLECTION FROM THE SUN CREATED BY THE DASHBOARD IN THE WINDSHIELD. DASHBOARD APPEARS TO BE MELTING.
2007 TOYOTA CAMRY BOUGHT USED WITH 62,500 MILES ON OCTOBER 4, 2016. ON OCTOBER 8TH I WAS EXITING OFF THE HIGHWAY SLOWLY EASING OFF THE GAS PEDAL TO DECREASE MY SPEED AND MY CAR SHUTS DOWN!!!! STOPS RUNNING !!! I LOST THE POWER STEERING OF COURSE. DID AT LEAST TWO AND A HALF 360'S UNTIL I CAME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF A 3 LANE ROAD. IT HAPPENED SO FAST I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I KEPT IT FROM LEAVING THE ROAD. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED IT FROM. THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE FRONT END. THEIR THOUGHTS ARE IT SHUT OFF AND TO GO BUY FUEL INJECTOR THE NEXT TIME I GET GAS. I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED WITH THIS HAPPENING. NOW I'M SO PARANOID ABOUT DRIVING THE CAR AND FEEL VERY UNSAFE.
BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE. DAUGHTER DROVE CAR AND APPLIED BRAKES QUICKLY TO STOP VEHICLE. BRAKES FELT ABNORMAL AND VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH REAR END OF ANOTHER VEHICLE ON A CITY STREET. DROVE VEHICLE AFTER COLLISION AND BRAKES SEEMED TO BE WORKING OK. 7 WEEKS LATER DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING VEHICLE AND HAD TOTAL SUDDEN BRAKE FAILURE. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE TECH SAID IT WAS MOST LIKELY A BRAKE BOOSTER FAILURE AND WOULD BE OVER $1000 TO REPAIR. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO PRIVATE MECHANIC FOR FURTHER ASSESSMENT. *TR
ON 2 OCCASSIONS OUR 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID LOST BRAKING POWER. DASH BOARD LIGHTS ABS, VSC AND BRAKE LIGHT ALL CAME ON. WHEN BRAKES WERE USED, CAR HAD VERY LITTLE TO NO BRAKING POWER.
I HAVE JUST PURCHASED THE CAR ONE MONTH AGO AS A PREOWNED ONE. AFTER ABOUT 15 DAYS THE OIL LID TURNED ON WHILE I WAS MOVING TO MY SCHOOL. I FILLED IN THE CAR WITH AN ORIGINAL OIL. I CHECKED THE OIL STICK AFTER I LEFT THE CAR FOR 4 HOURS AND IT WAS AT THE MAX LEVEL. TWO WEEKS LATER, I CHECKED AGAIN THE OIL IN THE CAR USING THE OIL STICK AND IT WAS BELOW MIN TICK. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE VALVE GASKET COVER BUT THE SAME ISSUE STILL THERE. BY THE WAY, THE CAR DOESN'T SHOW ANY BLACK OR BLUE SMOKE IN THE EXHAUST AND THERE IS NO SIGN OF OIL LEAK ON THE ENGINE OUTSIDE BODY. THE CAR IS NO LONGER ON WARRANTY. I AM FRUSTERATED AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIBRATE AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART ON THE SECOND ATTEMPT; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PISTON RINGS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REBUILT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER MENTIONED THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN, BUT THE CONTACT EXCEEDED THE EXPIRATION DATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,000.
CAR WAS RECENTLY SHIPPED FROM OVERSEAS. WHEN I GOT MY CAR, THE DASH LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF, THE ABS MOTOR WILL NOT SHUT OFF CAUSING MY BATTERY TO DRAIN CONSTANTLY, SPEEDOMETER WILL NOT WORK, GAS GAUGE MOVES SLOW, ENGINE SHAKES AND FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO CUT OFF. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. CAR AIR CONDITION OCCASIONALLY BLOWS HOT AIR.
THE ABS LIGHT AND CHECK VSC LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT WENT ON. WHEN I TRIED TO APPLY BRAKES TO STOP, I REALIZED THAT THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED. THE CAR WAS SKIDDING AND KEEP GOING AND I PUMPED THE BRAKES AND STILL THE CAR WAS MOVING FORWARD. I CAME CLOSE TO HITTING ANOTHER CAR AND LUCKILY STOPPED COUPLE OF INCHES FROM THE OTHER CAR. IT KEEPS HAPPENING OFTEN AND I AM WORRIED TO DRIVE THIS CAR AS IT IS. IT WORKS FINE AND SUDDENLY GOES TO THIS BRAKE FAILING MODE. ESPECIALLY HAPPEN MORE OFTEN IF IT RAINS AND MAKING IT MORE DANGEROUS.
TOOK MY 2007 CAMRY TO AL HENDRICKSON DUE TO AN OIL CONSUMPTION RECALL. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS AN UNDERLYING PROBLEM INVOLVING THE TIMING COVER. THEY REFUSED TO DO THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST UNTIL I PAID $1,500 TO HAVE THE OIL TIMING COVER REPAIRED.
AFTER 1200 MILES, I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO TOYOTA FOR SECOND PART OF THEIR OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, AND WAS TOLD IT DIDN'T USE ANY OIL. AFTER PICKING UP MY CAR UP FROM MY TRUSTED MECHANIC (WHO SAID 2/3 OF TOYOTA'S RECOMMENDED REPAIRS TOTALING OVER $1600 WERE NOT TRUE), I WAS TOLD HE HAD TO ADD OIL B/C IT WAS LOW. THIS IS YET ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF TOYOTA LYING TO CUSTOMERS SO THEY DO NOT HAVE TO INCUR COSTS OR ISSUE A VALID RECALL. THEY CLAIM BURNING OIL IS "NORMAL", AND ONLY IF THEIR "TEST" PROVES SO, THEY WOULD REPLACE THE PISTON RINGS - THEY ARE LYING ABOUT THESE TEST RESULTS TO AVOID HAVING TO DO THE EXPENSIVE REPAIR.
THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE WHERE THE OIL IS LEAKING AND BURNING IN THE ENGINE, I DID NOT RECEIVE THE INITIAL NOTIFICATIONS. WHEN I CALLED TOYOTA OF GASTONIA, THEY ADVISED ME THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I FOUND OUT TODAY THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED DUE TO THE SECOND CLAUSE OF 10 YEARS OF FIRST USE. I WAS STILL WELL WITH IN THE TIME FRAME, BUT I WAS NOT TOLD THAT WAS AN OPTION. AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX IT.
LAW OIL AFTER 1200 MILES
MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY IS HAVING ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS ON, AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD, MILEAGE ON THE CAR IS 138000. I HAVE HEARD FROM MANY PEOPLE, ALSO THIS CAN BE SEEN IN CARCOMPLAINTS.COM THAT THIS SITUATION IS COMMNLY SEEN ON 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THIS SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE THIS CAR, BUT I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPAIR THIS AS I STUDY THAT THE REPAIR COST IS HIGH. DO I NEED TO SUFFER THIS LOSS SINCE I BOUGHT CAMRY OR CAN TOYOTA RECALL THIS AND PROVIDE FREE SERVICE
BROUGHT MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY IN FOR ROUTINE CHECK UP, TIRES ROTATION AND ALIGNMENT. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE STRUTS ARE LEAKING. I ONLY HAVE 78,000 MILES ON THE CAR.
STICKY AND MELTING DASHBOARD
THE ENGINE IS EATING ABOUT 1 QUART OF OIL EVERY 2500 MILES. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS 145,000 MILES. CAR WAS CHECKED BY 2 MECHANICS AND NO OIL LEAK WAS DETECTED.
VISOR RECALL: I NOTICED THAT THE VISOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WAS GRADUALLY COMING DOWN AND DESPITE ASKING MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO LOOK INTO IT, THE PROBLEM WAS DEFERRED AND I WAS ASKED TO WAIT UNTIL IT GOT MUCH WORSE. LAST WEEK IT ACTUALLY CAME CLOSE TO A POINT OF BECOMING DETACHED ALTOGETHER; I REVIEWED THE WARRANTY/EXTENDED WARRANTY INFORMATION ON THE ISSUE AND TO MY SURPRISE I REALIZED THAT WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ON THIS PROBLEM (VEHICLES 2007-2011); HOWEVER UPON CALLING TOYOTA I WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NEVER A PART OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ZTT AND EVEN IF IT WAS I WOULDN'T QUALIFY SINCE I WAS OUTSIDE OF THE 7 YEARS OF TIME LIMIT. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION, NEITHER THE DEALER MADE ME AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AND NOW I AM PUT IN A POSITION WHERE I HAVE TO GET IT REPLACED WITH OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES (NOT CHEAP ~ 295.00 PARTS + LABOR + TAXES). BESIDES IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN THE ENTIRE VISOR CAN BECOME DETACHED WHILE DRIVING POTENTIALLY LEADING TO SERIOUS INJURY AND ACCIDENTS. I HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH MY ELECTRONIC BRAKING SYSTEM - ACTUATOR THAT I HAD REPLACED BY PAYING $2150 OUT OF POCKET AND MADE A COMPLIANT TO NHTSB AND LATER DUE TO A NUMEROUS COMPLIANTS A WIDER RECALL WAS ISSUED AND I WAS REIMBURSED BY TOYOTA. HOPE THIS ISSUE GETS LOOKED INTO SINCE THERE ARE A LARGE NUMBER OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON THE WEBSITE FORUM.
2007 TOYOTA CAMRY SE 2.4L 4 CYL, CONSUMES OIL AT A STAGGERING RATE. DUE TO THIS INCREASED RATE OF OIL CONSUMPTION, INCREASED MAINTENANCE COSTS INEVITABLY OCCUR. THIS OIL CONSUMPTION OCCURS ANY TIME THE CAR'S ENGINE IS RUNNING, OCCURRING EVEN MORE AT HIGH SPEEDS OF OPERATION. THE CAR WILL OCCASIONALLY LURCH WHEN BEING DRIVEN, CREATING OPPORTUNITY FOR AN ACCIDENT TO OCCUR IN THE WRONG CONDITIONS. BEFORE DRIVING FOR PROLONGED HIGH SPEEDS, I CHECK THE OIL LEVEL TO ENSURE THERE IS ENOUGH TO PREVENT A SEIZED ENGINE. THE RESULTS OF SUCH A PROBLEM WOULD BE CATASTROPHIC AT HIGH SPEEDS. THESE INCREASED MAINTENANCE COSTS AS WELL AS THE POTENTIAL DANGERS CAUSED BY THE INCREASED OIL CONSUMPTION OF MY CAR PROVIDE MORE THAN AMPLE JUSTIFICATION FOR AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT.
MY DRIVER SIDE VISOR IS DOWN AND WON'T STAY UP AND BLOCKING MY VIEW. IT'S ANNOYING TO DRIVE WITH IT TO MY LEFT SIDE. I CALLED AND THEY SAID MY VIN WAS OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY/RECALL. SO I'M PUNISHED BECAUSE A RECALL ITEM DIDN'T BREAK WHEN THE RECALL WAS ISSUED. I THINK IF THERE'S A RECALL IT SHOULD BE FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAR. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS ONCE PART OF A RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE PULLING INTO A FUEL STATION, THE STEERING WHEEL FRACTURED INTO THE DASHBOARD. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PULL THE STEERING WHEEL OUT OF THE DASHBOARD AND THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BRACKETS FOR THE COLUMN FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HAS BECOME VERY STICKY -- ALMOST APPEARS TO BE MELTING. IT IS EXTREMELY SHINY AND CASTING A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE, WHICH CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS.
DEALERSHIP FOUND THE ABS ACTUATOR HAD FAILED. SYMPTOMS INCLUDED: ABS AND PARKING BREAK LIGHTS RANDOMLY TURN ON WHILE DRIVING. SPEEDOMETER WILL STOP WORKING AND TACHYMETER WILL START TO BOUNCE. A/C ALSO BLOWS WARM. THERE ARE SEVERAL CASES OF THIS FOUND ONLINE AND PER CONSUMER REPORTS THE 2007 CAMRY HYBRID EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS ACTUATOR AS WELL.
ENGINES OIL BEING CONSUMED AT AN ACCELERATED AND DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUN VISORS LOOSE WHICH HINDERS DRIVERS VIEW WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE THEY FLOP DOWNWARDS AND DO NOT STAY AT A RECOMMENDED ANGLE TO BLOCK SUN DURING USE.
I DID MY MONTHLY DETAIL CLEANING AND MY CLOTH KEPT STICKING TO THE DASH AND I HAD NOT EVEN PUT ANYTHING ON IT YET. NOW THERE IS A VERY SHINNY GLARE IN THE WINDSHIELD AND EVERYTHING I USE TO WIPE STICKS AND RUBS OFF THE TEXTURE.
WHILE DRIVING SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY MOVED UP AND DOWN RAPIDLY. ABS LIGHT BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON

IN ADDITION, WHILE IN PARK, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000. UPDATED 12/20/16*LJ UPDATED 12/21/16.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A PRESENCE OF AN INTERNAL FIRE AND SMOKE EMITTED UNDER THE HOOD WITHOUT WARNING. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, IT WAS NOTICED THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL CHARGE WITH THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE. THE BATTERY MOUNTS, BATTERY POSTS, AND METAL PLATE BURNED AND THE BATTERY CRADLE FRACTURED, WHICH EXPOSED THE BATTERY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
I'M RESPONDING TO THE KNOWN ISSUE. I HAVE A STICKY SHINY DASHBOARD THAT CHIPS VERY EASILY. IT FEELS LIKE PAINT THAT'S NOT CURED.
I HAVE A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. IT HAS ABOUT 170,000 MILES. I GET REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND CHECK UP ON THE CAR. WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE VSC LIGHTS, BRAKES, AND BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON AND MY POWER STEERING GOES OUT. MY CAR ENGINE TURNS OFF AND I AM UNABLE TO RECRANK IT. ALL OF MY SYSTEMS ARE ON SUCH AS THE AC, RADIO, AND LIGHTS, HOWEVER THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO START. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO BE TWICE IN 1 WEEK. THE FIRST TIME I GOT IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED IT WAS JUST THE BATTERY. SO AFTER PAYING OVER $150 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND OIL CHANGE, I DROVE MY CAR AWAY ONLY TO GET ABOUT 5 MILES DOWN THE ROAD AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME, I ALMOST CRASHED INTO A CAR WHILE I WAS TRYING TO PULL MY CAR SAFELY OFF THE ROAD. THIS LED TO A SECOND TOW TRUCK BILL AND AN IRRITABLE CALL TO THE DEALER. THE CAR IS THERE NOW AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON. THEY ARE TRYING TO STATE THE CAR MAY HAVE WATER DAMAGE TO THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WHICH SEEMS TO BE TOTAL BS. MY CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY TYPE OF FLOOD ZONES. LUCKILY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE THEY PROVIDED ME WITH A RENTAL CAR BECAUSE I WAS LEFT STRANDED AFTER THEY ASSURED ME THAT MY CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THAT IS THE ONLY UPSIDE OF THIS, HOWEVER I AM CONCERNED THEY WILL COME BACK TO ME WITH AN ASTRONOMICAL BILL FOR A COMPUTER ERROR. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS ISSUE TO HAPPEN? THIS IS VERY SCARY TO DRIVE A CAR AND IT JUST CUTS OFF ON YOU. BAD MOVE TOYOTA, BAD MOVE!
ON 8-19-2016, I WAS LEAVING THE HEALTH CLUB AT APPROX. 5:30 P.M. AND WENT TO CAR, TURNED ON ENGINE, PUT CAR IN REVERSE AND IT JOLTED AND SOARED BACKWARDS, GOING OVER THE MEDIAN AND HITTING SIX PARKED CARS. BRAKES DID NOT WORK DURING THIS INCIDENT. THOSE CARS SUSTAINED DAMAGES, MY CAR , A 2007 SOLARA, WAS TOTALED OUT. THIS COMPLAINT IS LATE DUE TO AN ALREADY PLANNED RELOCATION, WHICH HAS OCCURRED. STILL EXPERIENCING SOME MILD PTSD AS A RESULT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FENDER, FRONT BUMPER, AND PASSENGER SIDE HEADLAMP WERE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

LESS THAN 60K MILES AND NOW MY CHECK VSC SYSTEM LIGHT IS ON AND BRAKES ARE NOT VERY RESPONSIVE. TAKES A LOT LONGER TO STOP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WAS DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE AND FAILED TO STAY UP. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SUN VISOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,822.
MY CAR HAS HIT 171073 AND IS THE 2ND TIME OR 3 TIME THAT SAIDS "CHECK VSC SYSTEM"AND MY STABILITY CONTROL IS NOTBWORKING PROPERTLY THE DEALER SAID IS SOMETHING NORMAL WITH THIS YEAR MKD AND MODEL OF THE CAR PLEASE HELP.
MY DRIVER SIDE VISOR BROKE OUT OF NOWHERE. I WAS LOOKING ONLINE AND I SAW WHERE TOYOTA WAS REPLACING THEM FOR THIS SUCH REASON. UNFORTUNATELY, I WAS TOLD THAT THE WARRANTY WAS ONLY GOOD FOR 7 YEARS FROM FIRST USE. MY WARRANTY RAN OUT 2 YEARS AGO, SO I GUESS I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN STATIONARY. BASED ON INTERNET RESEARCH OTHER DRIVERS STATE PROBLEM IS WITH ABS ECU. DEALER INDICATES TOYOTA WILL NOT FUND REPAIR. BASED ON APPARENT FREQUENCY OF PROBLEM, TOYOTA SHOULD COVER COST OF REPAIR. PER DEALER, PART COSTS ABOUT $1700.
ABS, BREAK, RPM, AND DASHBOARD GOES CRAZY WHILE DRIVING. AC ALSO STOPS WORKING. THIS HAPPENS DAILY AND GOES ON AND OFF DURING MY COMMUTE. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED ALTERNATOR, BATTER, AND ELECTRICAL WIRING AND IT'S STILL AN ISSUE.
SUN VISOR AT DRIVER SIDE FAILED TO STAY CLOSE, IT JUST FALLS DOWN AND COMES IN BETWEEN CLEAR VISIBILITY DURING EVENING, CLOUDY OR NIGHT DRIVING. TRIED TO CONTACT TOYOTA DEALER, THEY REFUSED ABOUT THIS DEFECT.
I AM FILING COMPLAINT ON 2007 CAMRY BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. FROM RESEARCH ON ISSUE, I UNDERSTAND THAT SAFETY ISSUES CAN OCCUR DUE TO THE ENGINES SIEZING UP AND THE CAR CAN QUIT RUNNING WHILE I'M DRIVING. NOT SURE ABOUT ENGINE CATCHING FIRE. I HAVE PERSUED DIFFERENT AVENUES WITH TOYOTA TO CORRECT ISSUE SINCE THE PROBLEM STEMS FROM FACTORY ENGINEERING. BUT TO NO AVAIL. THIS WAS ALREADY AN ISSUE AT TIME I PURCHASED VEHICLE WITH 64,190 MILES. HOWEVER, I WAS NOT INFORMED OF ANY TSB NOR RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATIONS OF PROBLEMS. I HAVE HAD CAR SERVICED APPROXIMATELY EVERY 3,000 MILES WITH MOTORCRAFT OIL. IT WAS NOT UNTIL 8-25-17 WHEN I WAS ASKED TO SIGN A DISCLAIMER LETTING ME KNOW OIL WAS OFF DIPSTICK. WHEN I CHECKED PREVIOUS RECORDS I FOUND OUT THE CAMRY HAD BEEN LOW ON OIL ( OFF STICK) EACH TIME SERVICED. (MY 1997 CAMRY I OWNED PRIOR TO THIS 2007 NEVER USED ANY OIL IN BETWEEN CHANGES AND IT HAD 176,000 MILES ON IT WHEN I LET IT GO). THUS, AFTER THE 8-25-17 SERVICE AND DOING RESEARCH I BECAME AWARE OF TOYOTA'S ISSUES AND THUS BEGAN A FRUITLESS BATTLE WITH TOYOTA. IT SEEMS THAT EVEN THOUGH I BEGAN FOLLOWING UP WITH TOYOTA AS SOON AS I BECAME AWARE OF ISSUE 8-25-17 THAT MY DOFU WAS 6-27-07. DUE TO NO FAULT OF MY OWN I JUST MISSED THE DEADLINE. HOWEVER, I BELIEVE WHOLEHEARTEDLY THAT THIS IS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AND THAT TOYOTA SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT SINCE IT IS AN ENGINEERING PROBLEM.
