THE VISOR BEGAN FALLING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I TRIED TO PUT IT BACK UP BUT IT WAS SAGGING AND EVENTUALLY POPPED CAUSING TO STAY DOWN UNLESS I FORCIBLY PUSH IT BACK UP. IT IS A DISTRACTION AND NOW CANNOT GO BACK UP WITH EXTREME FORCE (WHICH IS CAUSING THE LINING TO COME APART).
JULY 2016, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. DIAGNOSTIC INDICATED CODE P171. WAS ADVISED IT WAS A LAUNDRY LIST OF SYSTEMS TO CHECK FOR THIS CODE. ( REPLACED THE FOLLOWING; FLEX PIPE, 02 SENSOR, SPARK PLUGS AND FUEL PUMP. FOR A TOTAL OF 1400.00) WHILE DRIVING ON I-95 AT 60 MPH, AIRBAG LIGHT, BRAKE LIGHT, ABS LIGHT AND SEAT BELT LIGHT ALL ILLUMINATED AT THE SAME TIME. TECHOMETER SURGED OUT OF CONTROL, ENGINE TEMP GAUGE DISPLAYED NO READING AND SPEEDOMETER WENT TO ZERO. OH AND YEAH, THE AC THAT WAS BLOWING VERY COLD AIR SWITCHED TO WARM OR HOT. ALL OF THESE ISSUES HAPPENED AT THE SAME TIME ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH. IRONICALLY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE AND THE MECHANIC IS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE AS THERE IS NO CODE ISSUED FROM THE COMPUTER FOR THIS VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND THERE IS NO WARNING. THE ENGINE PERFORMS NORMAL DURING THIS ISSUE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE AC THAT FAILS EVERY TIME. THIS ISSUE CAN AND HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR IS SITTING PARKED WITH ENGINE RUNNING AND WHILE IN MOTION. I AM SO AFRAID THAT THIS EVENTUALLY WILL CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR DEATH. AND THE MOST ANNOYING PART IS NO MECHANIC CAN TELL ANY OF US WHY THIS HAPPENS OR HOW TO FIX IT. PLEASE, PLEASE, HELP US BEFORE THE WORST HAPPENS.
WARNING SIGNS APPEARED ON DASH AND THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTIC. UPON DIAGNOSTIC, THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED TO CHANGE THE HYBRID BATTERY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL HYBRID BATTERY EXPERT AND FOUND THAT THE BATTERY WAS OPERATING NORMAL. TOOK THE CAR TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED ABS ACTUATOR WAS FAULTY. TOYOTA ACKNOWLEDGED USING THE FAULTY ABS ACTUATOR AND WAS OFFERING FREE REPLACEMENT FOR VEHICLES UNDER 150K. THE CAR JUST PASSED 160K AND THE SERVICE WAS DENIED. THE CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED BY THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR REGULAR MAINTEINANCE AND THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO INFORM THE CUSTOMERS OF POSSIBLE DANGER OF FAULTY ABS ACTUATOR. THE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER INFORMED WHEN THE CAR WAS IN FOR SERVICES AT THE DEALERSHIP.
UPON ENTERING THE CAR TO LEAVE, THE SEAT BELT IS LOCKED COMPLETELY TIGHT AND CANNOT BE PULLED OR RELEASED TO RESET THE LOCK MECHANISM MAKING THE CAR UNSAFE AND ILLEGAL.
THE SUNROOF IN MY DAUGHTER'S 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY EXPLODED. WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING, SHE HEARD WHAT SHE DESCRIBED AS A "GUN SHOT SOUND". AFTER NOTICING SMALL SHARDS OF GLASS IN THE SEAT, SHE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER EXITING THE CAR, SHE SAW THAT THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED! HER MOTHER AND I LEFT WORK TO MEET HERE AND I COULD TELL INSTANTLY THAT IT EXPLODED FROM THE INSIDE, OUT! LUCKILY, MY DAUGHTER WAS OK AND ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY.
AFTER TOYOTA COMPLETING AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST THEY INFORMED US THEY ADD 1 QT OF OIL AND THEN MEASURE HOW LOW IT WAS AFTER THE ADDED OIL IN THE 1200 MILE TEST AND CONCLUDED THE 1/2QT LOW WAS NOT ENOUGH TO WARRANT REPAIRS TO THE ENGINE, KNOWING THEY HAVE A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE PISTON RINGS IT WAS ACTUALLY 1 1/2 QT LOW IN TOTAL AND THEY WONT FIX THE PROBLEM AND SAID IT COULD COST US IN THE AREA OF 3-4,000$

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HEADQUARTER TOYOTA (5895 NW 167TH ST, HIALEAH, FL 33015), BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT. OVER TIME, THE SUN VISORS DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SOUTH DADE TOYOTA (29330 S DIXIE HWY, HOMESTEAD, FL 33033), BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO INFORMATION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE REAR WINDOWS FAILED TO WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO SOUTH DADE TOYOTA, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000.
DASHBOARD MELTING. STICKY OOZING EVERY PART OF DASH. GLARES ONTO WINDSHIELD LIKE A MIRROR AND DIFFICULT TO SEE OUT OF WINDSHIELD. CANNOT TOUCH IT W/O GETTING STICKY.
SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER AND TEMPERATURE GAUGE EITHER STOP WORKING, OR BOUNCE AROUND, OUT OF CONTROL. THE BLOWER FOR THE AC WORKS, BUT WHEN THE CONDITION EXISTS, THERE IS NO COLD AIR. THINGS ARE NORMAL AT A COLD START, BUT DETERIORATE FROM THERE, STATIONARY OR ALL TYPES OF DRIVING.
PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY SOLARA IN MARCH 2008 WITH 22 MILES ON IT. BEGINNING IN 2014 WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WOULD GO OUT WITHIN 5-10 MINUTES OF DRIVING. BY TURNING THE HEADLIGHTS ON AND OFF, THE HEADLIGHT WOULD STAY ON. BEGINNING IN 2015 WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT, THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT STARTED GOING OUT AFTER 3-5 MINUTES OPERATION AND I WOULD TURN THE LIGHTS ON AND OFF AND THE LIGHT WOULD STAY ON FOR ANOTHER 3-5 MINUTES. I REPLACED THE BULB, ONLY TO FIND THE PROBLEM WAS REOCCURRING. HAD THE FUSES CHECKED BY A MECHANIC'THEY WERE FINE. HAD THE WIRING CHECKED, IT WAS FINE. WHAT STARTED HAPPENING SHORTLY AFTERWARDS IS DANGEROUS AND FRIGHTENING: WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WITHOUT NOTIFICATION AND IT TOOK 2-3 TIMES OF TURNING THEM ON AND OFF BEFORE THEY BOTH CAME BACK ON' THEN 3-5 MINUTES LATER THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WENT OUT. I HAVE TRIED EVERY COMBINATION OF LIGHTS I KNOW, BRIGHTS, AUTOMATIC, MANUAL.. HIGH BEAMS, FOG.. THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WILL GO OUT. THIS EVENING WHILE DRIVING IN THE DARK, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT ON A WINDING ROAD, I DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO RE-INVESTIGATE TO SEE IF THIS IS A RECURRING/KNOWN PROBLEM. SADLY, IT APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM IN A FORUM, BUT NOT AN ADMITTED PROBLEM BY THE MANUFACTURER. I CANNOT SELL/TRADE THE VEHICLE KNOWING OF THIS ISSUE, NOR WOULD I GIFT THIS VEHICLE TO MY TEEN. I AM STUCK WITH THIS VEHICLE UNTIL I CAN FIND A TRUE RESOLUTION.
I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS STICKY, CRACKING DASHBOARD FOR 2 YEARS NOW AND IT PROGRESSIVELY GETS WORSE EACH SUMMER. IT STARTED OUT A LITTLE TACKY WHEN IT HAD GOTTEN HOT FROM THE SUMMER HEAT AND IT HAS PROGRESSED TO A STICKY, GOOEY MESS THAT CANNOT BE PROPERLY CLEANED. IT REMINDS ME OF THOSE OLD AUBURN COLORED FLY STRIPS WE USED TO HANG FROM THE CEILING WHEN WE WERE KIDS. CRACKS STARTED APPEARING LAST SUMMER AND NOW SEVERAL MORE HAVE APPEARED THIS SUMMER. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF A RECALL AND I JUST FOUND IT ONLINE THIS MORNING WHILE SEARCHING FOR A CLEANING SOLUTION. I PLAN ON OWNING THIS VEHICLE FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER 5 YEARS AND I FEAR THE DASHBOARD WILL BE AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER BY THEN.
THE DASH IS STICKY FROM THE HEAT AND IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH TOYOTA CARS. REFLECTION IN DASH IS DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING.

THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED A TRAIL OF OIL COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE FAILED DUE TO THE VEHICLE HAVING NO OIL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,325.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE ENGINE SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, BUT WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OIL WAS REPLACED EVERY 3,000 MILES. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.
MY CARMY HAS HAD THE STICKY DASH PROBLEM FOR OVER A YEAR AND I FINALLY DID SOME RESEARCH ABOUT IT, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT TOYOTA HAD A WARRANTY PROGRAM THAT EXPIRED A MONTH GO, 31 MAY 2017. I CALLED THEM UP AND THEY PROMPTLY REFUSED TO REPLACE MY DASH. THERE ARE STILL MANY CARS OUT THERE THAT WERE NOT FIXED ADN THIS PROBLEM CAN CAUSE DISTRACTING GLARE DURING HIGH HEAT. CAN ANYBODY SUGGEST A COURSE OF ACTION? MAYBE POTENTIALLY SUING THEM TO GET THEM TO REPAIR MORE CARS?

BORROWED MY MOM'S 2007 HYBRID CAMRY WHICH SHE HAS BEEN BRINGING TO CITY TOYOTA IN DALY CITY, CA, FOR MAINTENANCE. WHILE ON FREEWAY I NOTICED DELAY IN RESPONSE WHEN BRAKING AND HAVE TO PRESS DOWN HARDER AS DID MY DAUGHTER WHO USES IT FOR WORK. CALLED CITY TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD THERE'S A LIMITED SERVICE CAMPAIGN (LSC) #E0U FOR BRAKE RESERVOIR TANK REPLACEMENT WHICH SHOULD BE FIXED FOR FREE (SIMILAR TO A RECALL). AFTER SPEAKING TO TWO SERVICE EMPLOYEES I WAS TOLD THAT I CAN LEAVE THE CAR ON SAT, JUNE 18, AND SHOULD BE FIXED BY THE COMING MONDAY. THE SERVICE MGR, CALLED ME AND SAID I NEEDED TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC COMPLETED FOR $160 AND IF IT'S RELATED TO THE LSC I WOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE $160. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO LEAVE THE CAR FOR ONE WEEK. I EXPLAINED I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY THE DIAGNOSTIC IF THE BRAKE PROBLEM IS RELATED TO THE LSC. HE THEN TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD NOT FIX THE CAR "BECAUSE OF OUR CONVERSATION". THIS WAS UPSETTING AS MY HUSBAND AND I DROVE 2 CARS 20 MILES AWAY SO THAT I CAN GET BACK HOME. I TOLD HIM TO JUST FIX THE LSC AND DO NOT DO THE DIAGNOSTIC AND HE TOLD ME TO PICK UP MY CAR SINCE HE WILL NOT AUTHORIZE ANYONE TO FIX IT. SO I PICKED UP MY CAR AGAIN WITH MY HUSBAND AND WILL BE TAKING IT ELSE WHERE. THE SERVICE MGR ALSO LIED ON THE INVOICE STATING THAT I DECLINED THE OFFER TO FIX THE LSC AND THAT HE OFFERED TO FIX IT AND COMPLETE THE WORK ON THE SAME DAY. WHY WOULD I GO BACK AND FORTH WITHOUT HAVING THE CAR FIXED WHEN I KNOW IT SHOULD BE DONE FOR FREE? THIS SERVICE MANAGER ACTED UNPROFESSIONALLY AND IS A LIAR. IN ADDITION, MY MOM BROUGHT IN HER CAR FOR A 45K SERVICE EARLY 2016 WHICH INCLUDED BRAKES AND ALSO IN 2015 FOR 40K SERVICE. THE LSC DATE WAS EFFECTIVE JULY 10, 2014, WHICH MEANT THAT CITY TOYOTA NEGLECTED TO FIX THIS BRAKE PROBLEM DURING THOSE 2 TIMES.

THE ELECTRONIC BRAKES AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENTIRE BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000.
WENT TO HAVE MY OIL CHECK BECAUSE MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON / MY MECHANIC CHECK THE OIL STICK THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE CAR AT ALL. SO HE CHECK TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO OIL LEAK THERE WAS NONE. THAT IS WHEN WE WENT TO THE WEB SITE AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THE OIL COMPLICATION PROBLEM. TOUCH MY CAR TO SCOTT CLARK TOYOTA AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR. THEY HAD ME DRIVE IT A COUPLE OF WEEKS UNTIL I REACHED THE MILEAGE THEY NEEDED FOR ME TO GET IT TESTED AGAIN TOOK IT BACK ON 7/23/16 IT PASSED THE TEST AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS GOOD AND THAT IT WAS ONLY LOSSING A QUART OF OIL . THEY WOULD NOT FIX MY CAR BECAUSE IT PASSED THE TEST. NOW I HAVE A CAR THAT I NEED TO HAVE REPAIRED BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET ANOTHER CAR. WITH ME DRIVING THE CAR WITH THE OIL LIGHT COMING ON WAS MY SIGN TO STOP AND HAVE IT CHECKED. IF I WOULD HAVE NOT THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE BLOWNED. SO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO NOW TO GET THESE PEOPLE TO FIX MY CAR ASAP.THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD BE SIX MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD BEFORE I COULD GET IT REPAIRED BECAUSE THEY ALREADY HAD A BACKLOG OF CARS THAT ARE WAITING TO BE REPAIRED. I KNOW THAT IF YOU HAVE A OIL LEAKE THERE'S KNOW WAY YOU CAN CONTINUE TO DRIVE A CAR WITH THAT PROBLEM. SO I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME IN THIS MATTER. SCOTT CLARKS IS A PLACE I THOUGHT CARED ABOUT THERE CUSTOMERS BUT I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANOTHER CAR FROM THEM OR TELLING ANYONE TO PURCHASE A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY. SO WHAT SHOULD I DO? SEAT BELT RETRACTORS (RIGHT AND LEFT) IN THE BACK SEAT DO NOT WORK.
THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP. THIS PART WAS RECALLED, BUT WHEN I TRIED TO GET IT REPLACED BECAUSE I'D ALREADY PAID TO HAVE THE PASSENGER SIDE REPLACED, SERVICE FOLKS SAID IT WASN'T DEFECTIVE (AND IT WASN'T AT THE TIME). THEN AROUND 2016 THE VISOR STARTED NOT GOING TO THE ROOF AND WOULD HANG DOWN SLIGHTLY. OVER THE COURSE F THE NEXT TWO YEARS IT GOT TO WHERE IT WAS BLOCKING MY VIEW. TOYOTA SAID THE RECALL HAD EXPIRED SO I HAD TO REMOVE THE VISOR. NOW I HAVE TROUBLE IF I'M DRIVING INTO THE SUN. FRUSTRATING PART IS THAT HAD THEY DONE IT WHEN I ASKED ORIGINALLY I WOULDN'T BE IN THIS CIRCUMSTANCE. *TR

THIS CAMRY BURNS 1 QUART OF OIL ALMOST WEEKLY AND IS ALWAYS NEEDING TOYOTA'S SUGGESTED 5W 20 ADDED. IF THIS CAR WERE NOT CHECKED WEEKLY IT WOULD BURN UP. TOYOTA HAS BEEN CONTACTED BUT REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING.HAS BEEN BEEN GOING ON SINCE 90000 MILES.

TOYOTA DEALER SAYS IT'S THE BRAKE ACTUATOR ECU WHICH, JUST FOR THE PART, RUNS AROUND $2000. I SEE A RECALL FOR THE HYBRID BUT NOT MY MODEL AND NOTICED OTHER OWNERS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE ON THE WEB. MY CAR IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT $5000. I HAVE OWNED CAMRYS IN THE PAST BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE ANY REAL ISSUES WITH THIS YEAR MODEL. I HAVE A 1989 THAT IS STILL RUNNING WITH ALMOST 350,000 MILES ON IT. MY PRESENT VEHICLE ONLY HAS A LITTLE OVER 160,000.

MY FATHER-IN-LAW IS A AUTO MECHANIC. HE CHANGES THE OIL IN MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY EVERY 2500-3500 MILES. THIS IS WELL BEFORE THE RECOMMENDED 5,000 MILE SERVICE REMINDER LIGHT COMES ON. THE CAR ALWAYS BURNED OIL BUT OVER THE LAST YEAR HE HAS NOTICED THAT THE CAR IS BURNING SIGNIFICANTLY MORE OIL. HE RECOMMENDED THAT I TAKE THE CAR TO THE TOYOTA DEALER FOR A OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. I TOOK THE CAR TO ROUTE 44 TOYOTA IN RAYNHAM MA FOR THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN WITH 147,212 MILES FOR THE TEST AND A OIL CHANGE. I WAS TOLD TO BRING THE CAR BACK BETWEEN 148,212 - 148,512 MILES. I NOTICED THAT AFTER I ORIGINAL BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR THE THE TEST, THE CAR WOULD IDLES AT 800 RPM WHEN STOPPED, AFTER THE OIL CHANGE AND TEST THE CAR IDLE AT 500-600 RPM. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO ROUTE 44 TOYOTA FOR PHASE II OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WITH 148,290 MILES. THE SERVICED ADVISOR SAID THAT THE CAR PASSED THE OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AND WAS ONLY DOWN 1/2 A QUART OF OIL. THE CAR BURNS MORE THAN A QUART OF OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES BUT THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT IT DOESN'T. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE CAR WAS BACK TO IDLING AT 800 RPM WHEN STOPPED.

MY CAR STARTED TO THROW SMOKE FROM BEHIND THE CLUSTERS I STOPPED QUICKLY I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND I DESCONECTED THE BATTERY.AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES I TOOK OFF THE CLUSTERS AND I FOUND THE PROBLEM.I BOUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND I'ME ON HOLD TO SEE IF TOYOTA WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE PART # 82671-33070 IT MAKES THE CLUSTERS CRAZY AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS FROM CLUSTER CHECK ENGINE, BRAKE LIGHTS, BELTS ETC, THE PART MELTS AND IT GETS THE WIRES HOT FROM THE DASH WIRESE HARNESS THAT HAPPENED WHENT IR WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY.

OIL CONSUMPTION. I HAD THE OIL CHANGED AT THE DEALERSHIP IN MAY WHEN I STARTED NOTICING CONSUMPTION. I HAPPENED TO CHECK THE OIL A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER AND IT WASN'T EVEN TOUCHING THE STICK, SO I ADDED 2 QUARTS OF OIL AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND ASKED THEM IF THEY EVEN CHANGED THE OIL. THEY OF COURSE SAID YES AND WE KEPT NOTICING IT BURNING QUITE A BIT OF OIL. I TOOK IT TO A MY MECHANIC AND HE IMMEDIATELY KNEW TOYOTA HAD A RECALL ON THIS MODEL BURNING OIL AND ADVISED US TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO CONDUCT THEIR TEST. WE DID THE TEST WHICH WAS DRIVE IT 1200 MILES AND BRING IT BACK AND OF COURSE THEY SAID IT ONLY BURNT A LITTLE OVER A HALF OF A QUART. I HAVE BEEN PUTTING OIL IN THIS CAR MOST OF THE SUMMER SOMETIMES LESS THAN 1200 MILES WELL OVER A QUART. I HAVE READ SEVERAL BLOGS AND SEE WHERE TOYOTA HAS BEEN SUED OVER THIS ISSUE. WHEN GOING IN REVERSE WITH THE S/WHEEL TURNED ALL THE WAY LEFT OR RIGHT THE S/WHEEL DOES RETRACT AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO...DURING NORMAL TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT THE S/WHEEL DOES RETRACT AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO... I FEEL THAT IS A UNSAFE CONDITION AND NEED TO BE ADDRESSED. TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS OF NO HELP. I HAVE BEEN TO THREE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM. ALL HAVE THE SAME ANSWER BAD TIRES, ALIGNMENT, AND NORMAL CONDITION FOR YOUR CAR STEERING WHEEL TO STICK AND YOUR CAR WILL DO CIRCLES WHEN LOW SPEED TURNING WITHOUT YOUR HAND ON THE WHEEL.
