UPON STARTING THE AUTOMOBILE, THE VSC, ABS, BRAKE AND OTHER WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. THE BREAK CATCHES AND/OR MUST BE PUMPED TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO HYPER-ACCELERATE WHEN IN IDLE, ESPECIALLY IN REVERSE. A LOCAL DEALER/SERVICE CENTER SAYS A COMPUTERIZED PART MUST BE REPLACED FOR $2100. *TR
I WAS DRIVING FROM WORK ON THE FREEWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL MY LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD POPPED UP, I LOST TRACTION CONTROL, AND THE NOTIFICATION PANEL STARTED BEEPING CHECK HYBRID SYSTEM AND CHECK VSC SYSTEM. A FEW DAYS LATER THE VSC WENT AWAY AND THEN CAME BACK SO I TOOK IT TO A DEALER SHIP WHERE THEY SPENT 5 HOURS LOOKING OVER MY CAR AND COULDN'T TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG OTHER THEN A MONITORING SYSTEM IS BAD OR THE BATTERY IS BAD AND QUOTED ME FOR THE SYSTEM IT WOULD BE $1700 AND THE BATTERY AROUND $4000. *TR
I TOOK MY CAR TO THE TOYOTA FOR THE CAMPAIGN THEY HAVE OR RECALL FOR THE BRAKE PROBLEM THAT THESE CAMRY HYBRID HAVE BECAUSE MINE SAYS CHECK VSC, AND A LOT OF LIGHT ARE ON BUT ITS ACTUALLY THE ACTUATOR BUT THEY ONLY CHANGED THE BRAKE RESERVOIR EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL I MADE IT TO THE HOUSE ALL THE LIGHTS CAME BACK ON THE GUYS FROM THE DEALER INFORMED ME THE RESERVOIR AIN'T GOING TO FIX THE PROBLEM I BOUGHT THE CAR USED WITH 149600 MILES ONLY 3 MONTHS AGO THINKING THAT KIND OF MILES AIN'T MUCH WHEN IT COMES TO TOYOTA JUST GOT THE VEHICLE AND CAN'T USE IT THANKS *TR
I HAVE NOT HAD ANY ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THE MELTING DASHBOARD AND HOPE I DON'T. IT IS AN ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE DEALT WITH. IT SEEMS THAT TOYOTA WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT UNLESS THEY ARE MADE TO SO. MY DASHBOARD HAS GOTTEN SOFT AND CONTINUES TO GET SOFT EVEN THOUGH I KEEP IT GARAGED. THERE ARE GLARES AND GOUGES NOW. THOSE ARE DISTRACTING AND CAN EASILY RESULT IN ME OR SOMEONE ELSE HAVING A CRASH BECAUSE OF IT. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THIS ISSUE.I HAVE SPOKEN TO CORPORATE AND THE LOCAL DEALER AND HAVE COME AWAY FRUSTRATED. ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS ASSIST IN THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DASH, AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY$1100 MYSELF. IT NOT RIGHT FOR THE CONSUMER TO PAY SUCH A PRICE WHEN THE CAR MAKER HAS CLEARLY MADE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. *TR
THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW AT STERLING MCCALL TOYOTA, HOUSTON, TEXAS IN 2007. IT HAS HAD ONLY ONE OWNER AND CURRENTLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 148,00 MILES. THE CONCERN ON THIS VEHICLE IS THAT THE DASHBOARD HAS MELTED WITHIN TIME, AND STICKY. THIS IS IN THE AREA CLOSEST TO THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. WITH THIS BEING THE CASE, THE MELTED DASH HAS BECOME SHINY IN THIS AREA AND CAUSES AN EXTREME INTER GLARE. THIS CAUSES A HAZARD WITH THE DRIVER DURING DAYLIGHT DRIVING HOURS. I HAVE CALLED MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS AND INFORMED THEM ABOUT THE DASHBOARD. ALL OF THE DEALERSHIPS THAT I HAVE CONTACTED HAVE TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS OR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS WITH THIS ISSUE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE INTERNET AND HAVE FOUND A LOT OF COMPLAINANTS ONLINE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THANK YOU CONCERNED CONSUMER *TR
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING, VERY SOFT AND STICKY BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY IS PUTTING OFF SOME ODOR THAT COULD BE DANGEROUS CHEMICALLY. APPEARS THAT THIS IS COMMON IN WARM CLIMATES...SUCH AS FLORIDA. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS COULD BE TOXIC. TOYOTA HAS REFUSED TO REPAIR AND INDICATED REPLACEMENT WOULD BE NEAR $2500. *TR
I WAS PARKING MY CAR AND WHEN I WENT TO STOP CAR AND TURN IT OFF, I EXPERIENCED UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION. CAR JUMPED THE CURB AND CRASHED INTO THE CONCRETE BARRIER OF THE PARKING GARAGE. *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING APPARENTLY BECAUSE OF THE WARM WEATHER IN FLORIDA. THE MELTING PLASTIC HAS DEVELOPED A SHINE/REFLECTION THAT REFLECTS ON THE WINDSHIELD MAKING IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO OBSERVE ROADS AND OTHER CARS. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD AND MUST BE CORRECTED FOR SAFETY REASONS. *TR
CAR WAS MAKING BARKING NOISE WHEN STEPPING ON THE BRAKE. DEALER REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER, ACTUATOR, AND BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR. DROVE THE VEHICLE FOR TWO WEEKS WITHOUT PROBLEM OR RECURRENCE. 8/25/14 ALL THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS AND THE VSC SYSTEM WARNING CAME ON. NO PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES WHEN DRIVING TO THE DEALER. DEALER SAID ABS COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $1500. MY FIRST REPAIR WAS $780. I WANTED TO ADD MY COMPLAINT ABOUT THE BRAKING SYSTEM TO THOSE ALREADY SUBMITTED. *TR
THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND PEELING. IT IS STICKY AND SOFT. THIS CAUSES A GLARE AND OBSTRUCTS MY VIEW AS WELL AS MAKES OBJECTS STICK ONTO IT. *TR
THE DASHBOARD HAS A MOLTEN STICKY APPEARANCE. IT IS EXTREMELY REFLECTIVE AND WHEN IN DIRECT LIGHT (SUCH AS THE SUN) THE GLARE IS REFLECTED ONTO THE WINDSHIELD. THIS CAUSES A GLARE IN THE DRIVERS EYES WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS WHILST IN MOTION. OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE DESCRIBED THIS PHENOMENA AS THE "DASHBOARD MELTING". *TR
MY DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND SHINY. IT IMPAIRS VISIBILITY. LAST SUMMER I HAD TO HAVE MY AIR CONDITIONER REPAIRED AND WHEN HE TOOK DASH APART IT WAS STUCK TO THE OTHER COMPONENTS (LIKE THE RADIO) AND IT KIND OF TORE THE DASH BOARD. SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE. *TR
ABS LIGHT CAME ON, SPEEDOMETER. ODOMETER, AND A/C STOPPED WORKING. PROBLEM CONTINUES INTERMITTENTLY. INTERNET RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THIS IS A WIDELY KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR MODEL AND REPAIRS ARE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. SEEKING REPAIR THROUGH RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. GOING DOWN A LONG HILL, STARTED TO BRAKE AT ABOUT 70MPH AND THE FRONT OF THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE. AS I CONTINUED TO BRAKE THE SHAKING GOT WORSE. VERY FRIGHTENING; THOUGHT THE CAR WAS GOING TO SHAKE APART. *TR

WHILE DRIVING, A NOTIFICATION WAS GIVEN "CHECK VSC SYSTEM". THE ABS LIGHT AS WELL AS THE RED BRAKE SYSTEM ARE ON AS WELL. BRAKES ARE NOT AS RESPONSIVE AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO STOP. WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE THE SYSTEM CHECKED TILL NEXT WEEK. A SEARCH ON THE INTERNET SAYS THIS IS BAD. *TR

WHEN DRIVING BRAKE AND ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND SPEEDOMETER GOES TO 0 MPH ALSO AC STOP WORKING. WENT TO A TOYOTA DEALER THEY SAY IT'S THE BATTERY. TESTED THE BATTERY GOT 12V, TOLD THEM I'M NOT STUPID. TOYOTA FORUM SHOWS A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. WHAT TOYOTA WAITING FOR TO PLACE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM THAT CAN BE FATAL ?
NOTICED MY DASH BOARD WAS GETTING TO BE A STICKY MESS I KEEP IT CLEANED AND PARKED UNDER MY CARPORT. NOW IT IS LIKE IT IS MELTING AND MY FINGER NAIL WENT THROUGH IT. ALSO THE DASH GETS SHINY AND MAKES A GLARE WHEN I DRIVE. I CANT BELIEVE A CAR DASH WOULD DO THIS. I THINK TOYOTA NEEDS TO REPLACE IT BEFORE IT GETS WORSE AND AN ACCIDENT IT CAUSED. *TR

MELTING DASHBOARDS BECOME STICKY, SHINY AND CRACKED. YOU CAN SEE WHERE I'VE ACCIDENTALLY NICKED IT AND THE THING COMES OFF. IT'S VERY HARD TO DRIVE WHEN YOU'RE BLINDED BY GLARE AND YOU DON'T SEE A BIG PORTION OF THE ROAD. IT'S JUST MELTING MORE AND MORE EVERY DAY. I HAVE KIDS, IS NOT SAFE, I AM SURE IS TOXIC AND IS NOT ONLY MELTING BUT ALSO BREAKING AND MY KIDS CAN EAT IT. *TR
THE DASHBOARD ON MY VEHICLE IS MELTING. IT'S STICKY, LOOKS WET, AND ON SOME DAYS IT ACTUALLY FEELS LIKE CLAY. WHEN THE SUN IS OUT IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE DUE TO THE INTENSE GLARE. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY DAYS I TRY TO LOOK AT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN THERE'S BEEN ONCOMING TRAFFIC LIKE YOU DO WHEN SOMEONE IS COMING AT YOU WITH THEIR HI-BEAMS ON. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINTS MADE CONCERNING THIS ISSUE BUT NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED. WITH THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE REPORTING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE ITS TIME FOR SOMEONE TO STEP UP AND MAKE OTHERS WITH THE ABILITY TO HELP DO THE RIGHT THING. THIS IS NONSENSE. *TR
DASHBOARD MATERIAL MELTS IN WARM AND SUNNY CONDITIONS. DASH BECOMES EXCESSIVELY STICKY AND HAS DEVELOPED A SHINY SURFACE THAT CAUSES CONTINUOUS GLARE (UNDER SUNNY CONDITIONS) CAUSING VISIBILITY PROBLEMS FOR THE DRIVER. ONGOING SAFETY ISSUE AND WELL DOCUMENTED FOR THIS CAMRY MODEL/YEAR. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD A STICKY AND SHINY SUBSTANCE, WHICH CAUSED THE SUNLIGHT TO REFLECT ONTO THE WINDSHIELD AND OBSTRUCTED THE DRIVER'S VIEW. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE DASHBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DASHBOARD WAS NOT REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
MY DASHBOARD IS MELTING. IT'S BECOME EXTREMELY STICKY AND SHINY. I DO NOT USE ANY CHEMICALS OR OTHER PRODUCTS ON THE DASHBOARD .THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH SO MANY CUSTOMERS REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM AND YET TOYOTA DOES NOT RECALL. THE PLASTIC IS FAILING. IT'S DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT'S SO TERRIBLY SHINY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SWERVED FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.

MY DASH BOARD IS MELTING AND IT HAS A SHINY GLARE WHEN THE SUN HITS THE DASH IT CAUSES A GLARE AND YOU CAN NOT SEE GOOD OUT OF THE WIND SHIELD. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND TOYOTA WILL NOT FIX THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT THAT SO MANY OF US OWNERS DO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I BOUGHT MY TOYOTA BRAND NEW AND I NOTICED AFTER ABOUT 3 YEARS OF OWNING THE CAR THAT THE DASH WAS VERY STICKY AND SHINY. I DID TAKE IT TO HOLLYWOOD TOYOTA AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD FIX IT IF I PAID HALF. SINCE THIS WAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT I TOLD THEM THAT I WOULD NOT BE WILLING TO PAY FOR THIS AWFUL PRODUCT THAT THEY MADE. ITS VERY DANGEROUS AND IT SHOULD BE RECALLED. *TR
DASHBOARD HAS BEGUN TO DETERIORATE. IT HAS A STICKY FILM ON IT THAT REFLECTS SUNLIGHT INTO THE DRIVER'S FACE. THE DASHBOARD HAS BEGUN TO BE VERY STICKY AND LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO START TO FALL APART. MORE THAN AESTHETICALLY DISAPPOINTING IS THE SAFETY ISSUE. THE REFLECTION FROM THE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD AT TIMES. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT DURING THE FAILURE THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE DIAGNOSTIC WAS UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
HERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY TOYOTA CAMRY, 4-DOOR LE SEDAN, 2007. THE INDICATORS BRAKE AND ABS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STARTED LIGHTING UP OCCASIONALLY AFTER THE FRONT BRAKE SERVICE ON 07-29-14. WHEN IT IS HAPPENING, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE, TACHOMETER, AND SPEEDOMETER ARE MOVING QUICKLY, UP AND DOWN AND FINALLY TO '0' POSITION. MY MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO FIX IT AND SUGGESTED TO BRING THE CAR TO A DEALERSHIP. I VISITED TOYOTA SERVICES. CODE U0073 WAS PRESENT IN THEIR TESTS. THEY COULD NOT PINPOINT A PROBLEM AND SUGGESTED ADDITIONAL TESTS, BUT TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE THE PROBLEM WILL BE RESOLVED. CONSIDERING THE SAID ABOVE, I DECIDED NOT TO DO ANY MORE TESTS. I CONTINUE DRIVE MY CAR WITH THE DESCRIBED PROBLEM. *TR
THIS IS FOLLOW-UP ON MY COMPLAINT OF SEPTEMBER 30, 2014. I AM AN OWNER OF TOYOTA CAMRY, 2007. MY ORIGINAL COMPLAINT STATED ?THE INDICATORS BRAKE AND ABS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STARTED LIGHTING UP OCCASIONALLY AFTER THE FRONT BRAKE SERVICE ON 07-29-14. WHEN IT IS HAPPENING, THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE, TACHOMETER, AND SPEEDOMETER ARE MOVING QUICKLY, UP AND DOWN AND FINALLY TO ?0? POSITION.? I CONTACTED A LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TWICE. THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY A CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND SUGGESTED MORE TESTS, BUT STATED THEY COULD NOT GUARANTEE THE PROBLEM RESOLUTION. I REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE JOB WHICH WOULD NOT LEAD TO THE PROBLEM RESOLUTION. I HAD MANY EMAIL CONTACTS WITH TOYOTA CORPORATION DURING LAST SEVERAL WEEKS. I ASKED THEM IF THE CORPORATION HAS A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM REPORTED BY MANY TOYOTA OWNERS. I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN AN ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION. EACH TIME THEY REPLIED WITH AN ADVICE TO CONTACT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP. I CONTINUE USING THE CAR WITH THE PROBLEM FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS. IT SEEMS THE CAR CONDITIONS DETERIORATE. IN ADDITION TO THE DESCRIBED DEFICIENCIES, I SAW E (ERROR) ON OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DISPLAY SEVERAL TIMES, AN ERRONEOUS INDICATION OF FASTEN DRIVER SEAT BELT, EXCESSIVE VIBRATION OF AN ENGINE AND EVEN MORE IMPORTANT, REDUCED TRACTIVE CONTACT OF THE CAR ON THE WET ROAD. SAFETY OF MY CAR WITH THE DESCRIBED PROBLEM CROSSES MY MIND FREQUENTLY. ALL MY ATTEMPTS TO GET TOYOTA CORPORATION TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM HAVE FAILED. *TR
DASHBOARD MELTING. LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER STATED TOYOTA LEFT OFF CHEMICAL THAT PREVENTS WHETHER DELIBERATE OR ACCIDENTIAL UNKNOWN BUT WILL DO NOTHING. *JS
VEHICLE DASH HAS BECOME VERY STICKY. NOTICED THAT THERE ARE NOW NICKS MISSING FROM DASH. CURIOUS AND CONCERNED I BEGAN TO EXAMINE THEM CLOSER AND FEELING THE AREAS WHERE THE NICKS WHERE. SHOCKED TO FEEL THE DASH WAS VERY STICKY AND MUSHY. NEVER FELT ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE IN ANY VEHICLES I HAVE EVER OWNED, EVEN VEHICLES YEARS OLDER THAN THIS (2007). I'M SCARED TO CLEAN OR EVEN TOUCH FOR FEAR IT MAY BECOME STICKIER. YOUR HAND LITERALLY STICKS TO THE DASH. *TR
THE DRIVER SUN VISOR BECAME LOOSE AD WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE CREATING A HAZARD TO THE DRIVER. THE VISOR IS IN MY FACE AND OBSTRUCTS MY VISION. *JS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND VIBRATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE STOPPING DISTANCE ALSO INCREASED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT AIR WAS LEAKING FROM THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
THE DASH IS MELTING, CAUSING A STICKY TEXTURE THAT CAUSES A BRIGHT GLARE WHEN THE SUN SHINES ON IT. *TR
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY WHEN THE "CHECK VSC" ERROR CODE CAME ON AT WHICH TIME THE BRAKES BECAME VERY MUSHY. WE TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC THE CODE SHOWED THAT THE BRAKE ACTUATOR IS FAILING. SO NOW WE WILL HAVE TO PAY OVER $2,000 TO GET THIS COMMON PROBLEM FIXED. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED AND THE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED TO ENGAGE. THE STABILITY CONTROL AND THE ABS WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED WHILE THE FAILURE OCCURRED AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND FUNCTION AS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHICH DIAGNOSED A FAILURE CODE ON THE BRAKE ACTUATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL TOYOTA CAMRY HAS ALREADY HAD A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE HYBRID VERSION FOR THE EXACT SAME PART. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THE SPEEDOMETER GOES TO ZERO, THE TACHOMETER NEEDLE GOES UP AND DOWN LIKE CRAZY, THE AC CUTS OFF AND THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR CUTS OFF. THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT AND THE ABS FAILURE LIGHT COME ON THE DASHBOARD SHOWING THE BRAKE SYSTEM HAS FAILED. THE CARS DOES STOP BUT WITH HESITATION. I HAVE NO WAY TO KNOW IF THE BRAKE LIGHT ARE WORKING DURING THE FAILURE SO I AM CONCERNED I AM GOING TO GET REAR ENDED BECAUSE THE DRIVER BEHIND ME WON'T KNOW I AM STOPPING. THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW IF THIS ISSUE WILL GET WORSE AND THERE WILL BE A POINT WHERE IT WILL NOT STOP. I CALLED TOYOTA AND OPENED A CASE #1407190530 AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD NO SUCH ISSUES SHOWING IN THEIR DATABASE. I TOLD THEM IT SHOWS UP THOUSANDS OF TIMES ON GOOGLE AND WAS BASICALLY TOLD, WHO ARE YOU GOING TO TRUST THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE OR TOYOTA? I ASKED HIM TO CHECK FOR ANY NOTES ON THE MODEL DEALING WITH THE ABS ECM OR THE ABS ACTUATOR. HE TOLD ME THEY HAD NONE AND THAT I HAD TO BRING IT TO THE DEALER AND HAVE THEM CHECK IT. THIS SEEMS LIKE A GREAT SCAM FOR THEM, THE CAR GIVES A CODE U0073 SHOWING THE PROBLEM IS THE ABS, SO THE DEALER GETS TO CHARGE A COUPLE OF HUNDRED DOLLARS TO RUN TESTS TO THEN TELL YOU THE 3 INCH SQUARE PART COST $4000 TO REPLACE BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT MAKE IT. YOU BUY THE PART IT COST THEM $50 TO MAKE FOR $4000 WITH LABOR OR YOUR DON'T HAVE A CAR. HAVING READ THROUGH HUNDRED OF POSTS ONLINE FROM PEOPLE WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE, WITH THE EXACT SAME PART I FEEL THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THESE CARS. TOYOTA HAS A BEAN COUNTER MENTALITY WHERE IT HAS FIGURED OUT THE NUMBER OF ACCEPTABLE DEAD AND HOW MUCH LEGAL FEES THEY CAN PAY BEFORE IT IS WORTH FIXING AN ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING THE VISOR DROPPED DOWN OBSCURING VIEW OF THE ROAD. VISOR WAS PREVIOUSLY DEPLOYED TO BLOCK THE SUN. I READJUSTED THE VISOR TO BE CLOSER TO THE WINDSHIELD THEN SOMETHING WITHIN THE ASSEMBLY SNAPPED AND IT LOWERED. IN THE LOWERED POSITION IT IS IN THE POSITION WHERE IT BLOCKS THE MOST VIEW THROUGH THE WIND SHIELD. *TR
I JUST PURCHASED THIS 2007 CAMRY FROM A CAR DEALERSHIP . VERY NICE CAR LOW MILES WELL TAKEN CARE OF. I CHECKED THE CAR OUT VERY WELL I THOUGHT . THESE CARS BRING A PREMIUM PRICE. WHILE TEST DRIVING NOTICED DASH COVER LIFTED IT UP LOOKED FOR CRACKS LOOKED FINE. LATER ON THAT DAY BOUGHT CAR . WHILE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DRIVE MY OTHER VEHICLE HOME THOUGHT DIDN'T LIKE DASH COVER AND DECIDED TO TAKE IT OFF. MISTAKE! DASH WAS SO STICKY LIKE YOU SPRAY ADHESIVE ON IT . THE DASH COVER HAS SMALL VELCRO STRIPS ON STUCK TO DASH WHICH WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE TOOK PIECE OF DASH WITH IT. WENT INTO DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED SITUATION TO SALES REP AND THEY FIXED HOLE. ASKED WHY DASH STICKY HE DID NOT KNOW. ON A HOT SUNNY DAY BETTER HAVE DARK SUNGLASSES ON FOR THE GLARE FROM DASH IS A DISTRACTION. DASH PUTS OFF A ODOR WHEN HOT AND STICKY. I PUT COVER BACK ON DASH IT HELPS SOME. I SHOULD OF DID MORE RESEARCH ON 2007 CAMRY BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING SAME ISSUE. THERE IS NO SOLUTION OTHER THAN A NEW DASH WHICH TOYOTA SO FAR WILL NOT PAY FOR. TOYOTA NEEDS TO SAVE THEIR REPUTATION BECAUSE I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER TOYOTA ! *TR

THE SEAT BELT DID NOT SECURELY HOLD ME IN WHEN THE CAR BEHIND ME HIT ME, I WAS AT A DEAD STOP AND WAS REAR ENDED, THE AIR BAGS ALSO DID NOT DEPLOY, AND MY FACE HIT THE STEERING WHEEL. THE FORCE OF THE REAR ENDING PUSHED ME INTO THE SUV IN FRONT OF ME, THE CAR WAS TOTALED. I SUFFERED A CONCUSSION, WHIP LASH, WRIST AND ELBOW INJURY AND LOWER BACK WAS HURT AFTER THE IMPACT. I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT THANKFULLY OTHERWISE I COULD HAVE HIT THE WIND SHIELD.
THE TACHOMETER, SPEEDOMETER, AND ODOMETER WORK SPORADICALLY, MOSTLY THEY ARE NON FUNCTIONAL. ALL WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING. THE GAS AND TEMPERATURE GAUGE WORK MOST OF THE TIME. THE AIR CONDITION FAN WORKS NORMALLY BUT THE AIR CONDITION BLOWS COLD AIR ONLY WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER IS WORKING.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 75 MPH GOING WB ON I-8 HEADING OUT OF TUCSON JULY 14, 2014. I STARTED TO SMELL A FAINT BURNING, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE SMELL BECAME MORE INTENSE AND SMELLED LIKE SOMETHING ELECTRICAL WAS FRYING. IT IS A VERY SPECIFIC SMELL. I THOUGHT FOR A SECOND THAT SOMETHING WAS HAPPENING IN MY STEERING WHEEL BUT THEN NOTICED SMOKE COMING UP THROUGH MY WINDOW CONTROL BUTTONS. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. THE SMOKING STOPPED. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND A COP WAITED WITH ME IN 105 DEGREE WEATHER. I WAS TOWED BACK TO TUCSON TO A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL SHORTAGE AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO PAY OVER $500 TO REPAIR IT. I HAVE NOT DONE THAT BUT INSTEAD, I HAD THEM CUT POWER TO MY WINDOWS SO I CAN CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR IMMEDIATELY.
