TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH UP A HILL, HE ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. HE ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. ONE PASSENGER WAS SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE NECK AND MINOR PAIN ALL OVER HIS BODY. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A VIN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
DASH BOARD STARTED MELTING CAUSING A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD. DASH BOARD IS EXTREMELY STICKY AND INSECTS, DIRT AND ANYTHING THAT COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE DASH STICK TO IT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY, THE SUN VISOR SLIPPED DOWN INTO MY LINE OF SIGHT. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND TRY TO "FOLD/ SNAP" IT BACK IN PLACE. THEN I NOTICED THAT THE ARM PIECE, THAT INSERTS INTO THE ACTUAL SUN VISOR WAS BROKEN/ CRACKED. I HAD TO DRIVE HOLDING THE SUN VISOR OUT OF MY VISION WITH ONE HAND AND THE OTHER HAND ON THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN I WENT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TO ORDER A REPLACEMENT PART, I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS THE THIRD PERSON IN TWO WEEKS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT ON THE SAME MODEL CAR. THE PART COULD NOT BE ORDERED FROM THE "DISTRIBUTION PLACE" BECAUSE THE SUN VISORS WERE ON BACK ORDER. I HAD TO REMOVE MY HANGING SUN VISOR BECAUSE IT WAS A RISK AND I HAVE NOT HAD IT REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE BACK ORDER. IN ADDITION, I AM THE ONLY DRIVER OF MY CAR AND TO MY KNOWLEDGE THERE WAS NO INCIDENT IN WHICH THE SUN VISOR WAS DAMAGED. *TR
DASH BOARD IS MELTING AND CRACKING, LOOKS AWFUL CANNOT BE TOUCHED BECAUSE IT IMMEDIATELY MAKES A MARK. IT IS SHINY AND CAUSES A GLARE ON WINDSHIELD. CANNOT BELIEVE HOW THE QUALITY OF A CAR AS IS THE TOYOTA CAN HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENING AND DOES NOTHING ABOUT, WHAT A GREAT WAY TO KEEP YOUR CLIENTS HAPPY!! *TR
DRIVER SIDE VISOR BROKEN AND OBSTRUCTING VIEW. VISOR WAS REMOVED BY OWNER DUE TO SAFETY REASONS. PASSENGER SIDE VISOR WILL NOT STAY EXTENDED TO WINDSHIELD. *TR
2007 CAMRY LE WITH ONLY 24000 KM MIDDLE HEAT SHIELD RUSTED HANGING. TOYOTA IN GUELPH ONTARIO REMOVED IT BECAUSE IT HAS RUSTED SO IT DOES NOT FALL OFF. THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $300 CDN TO REINSTALL NEW ONE. SHOULD NOT THIS BE COVERED BY BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY? I THINK THIS IS BIG SAFETY ITEM BECAUSE IT IS LARGE PIECE AND IF IT WOULD HAVE FALLEN OFF ON HIGHWAY IT COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. AGAIN MY CAR HAS ONLY 24000 KM . *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE STRUTS WERE LEAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,830 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 33,840.
I TOOK MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY FOR IT'S 15,000 MILE CHECKUP AND THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THE IGNITION KEY FELL APART WHEN HE TURNED IT IN THE IGNITION. THE KEY USED WAS MY SPARE KEY WHICH I KEEP IN A DRAWER AT HOME. MY MILEAGE AT THE TIME WAS 15,203 MILES. I CONTACTED TOYOTA AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER WHICH I DID AND THEY CONTACTED TOYOTA BY PHONE AND WAS TOLD THE KEY WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I PAID $386.76 FOR A NEW KEY. THE KEY HAD TO BE DEFECTIVE IN ORDER TO FALL APART THE WAY THAT IT DID. I WROTE TOYOTA EXPLAINING ALL OF THIS AND REQUESTED THAT THEY REIMBURSE ME BUT WAS TOLD "NOT UNDER WARRANTY" THEREFORE THEY CANNOT REIMBURSE ME. I FEEL THAT THIS INCIDENT SHOULD BE DOCUMENTED FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING IN CITY IN THE EVENING AND NOTICED THAT THE STREET APPEARED TO DARKEN. THE PASSENGER IN MY CAR TOLD ME TO PULL OVER SO WE COULD CHECK THE HEADLIGHT. THE DRIVER HEADLIGHTS OUT. I WENT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME IT MIGHT BE THE BULB BUT COULDN'T GUARANTEE IT. I COULD TRY IT OUT FOR 160.00. AND IF IT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM TO COME BACK AND THEY'D CHECK ELECTRICAL. I WAS NOT FOOLISH ENOUGH TO DO THAT. I TRIED THE LIGHTS AGAIN FOR THE NEXT YEAR AND NOW BOTH LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF AT WILL. AT TIMES I HAVE HAD BOTH GO OFF. IF I TURN THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH OFF AND THEN BACK ON AGAIN THEY LIGHTS RETURN ON SOMETIMES. OTHER TIMES I CHANGE THE SETTING AND USE THE OTHER SETTING TO GET BOTH LIGHTS. I'VE BEEN STOPPED BY THE LOCAL POLICE FOR HEADLIGHT OUT. I WILL BE FURIOUS IF I GET A TICKET OR HAVE TO PAY 2 K TO GET THIS FIXED WHEN IT'S A DEFECT FROM THE FACTORY. TOYOTA OWNS THIS! *TR
DASH BOARD HAS BEEN MELTING FOR YEARS, I COMPLAINT TO TOYOTA, AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL OR PROBLEMS WITH OTHER VEHICLES, NOW I FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS A LOT OF TOYOTAS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN SEVERAL TIMES COMPLAINING ABOUT MY SHINY, STICKY, AND DANGEROUS DASHBOARD. IT IS A RECALL BUT MY TOYOTA DEALERSHIP ADVISED ME IT WOULD BE OVER $2500 TO REPLACE. AFTER CALL THE HEAD CORPORATION IT WAS DROPPED DOWN BUT I STILL CAN'T AFFORD IT. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND DISTRACTING I TRY TO COVER THE SHININESS BUT WHATEVER TOUCHES THE DASH GETS STUCK TO IT AND I AM LOOSING PIECE AFTER PIECE. MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY IN THE UP POSITION. IT WAS UP WHEN I PARKED THE CAR AND DOWN THE NEXT TIME I DROVE IT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP TO GET THE RECALL WORK COMPLETED FOR THE MATS AND ACC. PEDAL AND REQUESTED THE SERVICE MAN LOOK AT THE SUN VISOR. HE TOLD ME IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE THE PARTS MYSELF. HE ALSO DID NOT REMOVE THE VISOR WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS I CANNOT SEE TO DRIVE EXCEPT BY HOLDING UP THE VISOR. I HAD TO REMOVE THE VISOR MYSELF TO SAFELY DRIVE MY CAR. *TR
DRIVER'S SUN VISOR WILL NOT STAY IN UPRIGHT POSITION WHICH OBSTRUCTS THE DRIVER'S VIEW. *TR
2007 TOYOTA CAMRY, THE DRIVER SIDE SUN VISOR DOES NOT STAY UP IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. IT FELL DOWN ON ME WHEN DRIVING A FEW WEEKS AGO TO WHICH I NARROWLY AVOIDED A SERIOUS CRASH. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IT IS DEFECTIVE. A PIECE OF THEIR MACHINERY IS BLOCKING MY VIEW BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY. WE HAVE A PREMIUM WARRANTY UP TO 100K MILES ON THE VEHICLE (BUMPER TO BUMPER) AND WE ARE AT 51K MILES CURRENTLY. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET IT REPAIRED TO WHICH THEY CLAIM THAT THE SUN VISOR IS A COSMETIC ISSUE TO WHICH THEY WONT REPLACE IT. I HAVE VISITED THE DEALERSHIP ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITH SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO TOYOTA HEADQUARTERS TO WHICH THEY APPRECIATE MY CONCERN AND UNLESS THEY RECEIVE A HIGH VOLUME OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ISSUE THEY WONT INSTITUTE A RECALL. DOING RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND MANY OF THE SAME ISSUES WITH OTHER TOYOTAS. THEY DISMISS MY CLAIM WITH COP OUT REPLIES NOT TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE CONCERN FOR MY SAFETY OF MYSELF AND PASSENGERS WHO RIDE WITH ME. PLEASE HELP!!!!! SOMEONE SOONER OR LATER WILL GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR WORSE KILLED BECAUSE OF THEIR SAFETY DEFECT. I DO BELIEVE THAT MY RIGHT TO SEE IS NOT A COSMETIC ISSUE AND A SERIOUS SAFETY VIOLATION!!!!!! TWICE IN 24 HOURS, RIGHT AFTER I HAD ROUTINE MAINTENANCE PERFORMED AT THE DEALERSHIP, WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE OF MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE THE ABS KICKED IN. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO TOYOTA BUT THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. I RODE WITH THE TECHNICIAN BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS SITUATION IS DANGEROUS AND FRIGHTENING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE. SHE REFERENCED NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V388000, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL. SHE STATED THAT THE RECALL WORK WAS PERFORMED EARLIER THIS YEARS; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE HAD ACCELERATED TWICE SINCE THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE. SHE CALLED THE DEALER AFTER SHE EXPERIENCED THE FIRST FAILURE AND THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE RECALL WORK HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH , THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. SHE ENGAGED THE BRAKES AND THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,225.
DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR WILL NOT STAY UP IN THE RAISED POSITION OR ALL THE WAY BACK TOWARDS WINDOW IN LOWERED POSITION. CONTINUES TO FALL INTO THE LOWER MOST POSITION, BLOCKING VIEW THROUGH FRONT WINDOW. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING AND I NEEDED TO USE ONE HAND TO KEEP IT RAISED OUT OF MY LINE OF VISION. WILL BE CONTACTING DEALER/REGIONAL SERVICE IN AN ATTEMPT TO HAVE THEM REPAIR THE PROBLEM SINCE IT IS LISTED BY OTHER OWNERS ON NHTSA SITE AS A DEFECT COMPLAINT. *TR
CAR WAS IN REVERSE IN A PARKING LOT. APPLIED BRAKES BUT WITH NO RESPONSE. CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE AND HIT ANOTHER IN THE PARKING LOT. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED. CONTACTED DEALER AND WILL TAKE IT IN THIS FRIDAY 7/9/2010. *TR
MY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY DRIVER SIDE VISOR GOT LOOSEN AND OBSTRUCTED MY VIEW WHILE DRIVING. I COULD NOT LIFT IT UP TO ITS NORMAL POSITION. I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AROUND 60 MPH AND THE VISOR SUDDENLY OBSTRUCTED MY VIEW. I ALMOST HIT THE CAR INFRONT OF ME. THE DEALER (WOBURN TOYOTA, MA) REFUSED TO CHANGE THE VISOR AND TOLD ME IT IS NOT COVERED. I DID CONSTANT MAINTENANCE OF THE CAR AT THE DEALER. I HOPE TOYOTA STEPS UP AND RECALL THE VISORS AD THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND SOME ONE MIGHT NOT BE LUCKY LIKE ME AND BE INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT DUE TO VISOR OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN, WHAT DOES THE MILEAGE HAVE TO DO WITH DEFECTIVE SUN VISORS? WE ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT A BROKEN RADIO, BUT RATHER SOMETHING THAT COULD POTENTIAL POSE A RISK OF HARM TO ME AND MY PASSENGERS SHOULD THE SITUATION NOT BE RESOLVED. *TR

MELTED DASHBOARD ALSO RAISES A CONCERN FOR PROPER OPERATION OF AIRBAGS. TOYOTA USA AND LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. ARTICLES/NEWS STORIES FROM HAWAII TO TEXAS AND FLORIDA HAVE PRESENTED A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND VARIOUS ONLINE COMPLAINTS AND DISCUSSIONS HIGHLIGHT A SIMILAR CONCERN. *TR
2007 CAMRY XLE. THE DASHBOARD IS STICKY AND APPEARS TO BE MELTING. SMALL PIECES OF THE DASH HAVE COME OFF AND THERE IS GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD FROM THE DASH ON A BRIGHT SUNNY DAY. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS NEW. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GARAGE KEPT AND AT WORK I ALWAYS USED A FULL WINDSHIELD SUN VISOR. *TR

2007 CAMRY LE, DRIVERS SIDE SUNVISOR WILL NOT HOLD IN UPRIGHT LOCKED POSITION AND SUBSEQUENTLY FALLS INTO VIEW WHILE DRIVING. REMOVED DUE TO REPEATED HAZARD OF OBSTRUCTING VIEW. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, A VEHICLE CRASHED INTO HIS FRONT DRIVER DOOR AND THE FRONT END OF HIS VEHICLE. HE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, DROVE OVER A CURB AND CRASHED INTO A FIRE HYDRANT. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. TWO PASSENGERS SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK, ABDOMEN, AND WHIPLASH. THEY WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL AND THEY WERE DISCHARGED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. TOYOTA USA STATED THAT IT DEPENDS ON WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS STRUCK AND THE SPEED INVOLVED WHICH DETERMINED IF THE AIR BAG SHOULD DEPLOY OR NOT. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,000.
ON 6/26/2010, A SPEEDING NISSAN ALTIMA RAN A STOP SIGN AND COLLIDED WITH MY TOYOTA CAMRY LEFT FRONT WHEEL CAUSING MY CAR TO LOOSE CONTROL, JUMP THE CURB TO IT'S RIGHT AND CRASHED HEAD ON INTO A FIRE HYDRANT PROTECTIVE BARRIER. THE OTHER CAR CONTINUED TO HIT MY CAR FROM BEHIND ON THE LEFT REAR FURTHER CAUSING THE HEAD ON IMPACT AND FRONTAL DAMAGE. THE AIRBAGS OF MY TOYOTA FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE AIRBAGS OF THE ALTIMA DID DEPLOY. BECAUSE IF THE SEVERITY OF THE IMPACT AND FRONTAL AND OTHER DAMAGE, MY TOYOTA CAMRY WAS TOTALED. THE IMPACT ALSO CAUSED THE TWO LEFT SIDE TIRES TO BLOW OUT. ALSO AS THE TOYOTA CAMRY JUMPED THE CURB, IT HIT A METAL TRAFFIC SIGN CAUSING IT TO BE CUT OFF COMPLETELY AT THE BOTTOM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED FOR THE RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 09V388000 AND 10V017000, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ACCELERATOR PEDAL. UPON RECEIVING THE VEHICLE FROM AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE FELT THE VEHICLE VIBRATING WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND THE VIBRATIONS GOT MORE VIOLENT WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO BEGAN TO MOVE TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT WHILE PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURES WERE NORMAL WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ADAPTING TO ITS NEW COMPUTER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AGAIN WHO STATED THAT THE BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 90,600.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN VISOR WOULD NOT REMAIN UPRIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE SUN VISOR WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I HAVE A TOYOTA HYBRID 07 , I TURNED ON CAR MADE HORRIBLE LOAD NOISE THE SPEEDOMETER WENT UP TO 100 MPH IN SECONDS THE TWO FRONT TIRES WERE SHAKING HORRIBLY LIKE THE CAR WANTED TO TAKE OFF THE CAR KEEP MAKING LAUD NOISE I HONESTLY THOUGH THE CAR WAS GOING TO BLOW UP . I THANK GOD THAT I WASN'T IN ROAD WHEN IT HAPPENED , AM VERY AFRAID TO GET INTO CAR THERE IS NO WAY I WILL BE ABLE TO DRIVE THAT CAR AGAIN I VALUE MY LIFE TOO MUCH AND ITS SAD THAT TOYOTA JUST THINKS ABOUT MONEY AND NOT LIVES OF PEOPLE . THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE SUN VISOR COULD BE REPLACED AT HER EXPENSE. THE DEALER REMOVED THE SUN VISOR BUT IT WAS NOT REPLACED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 99,300.
WARPED ROTORS ON 2007 CAMRY AT APPROX. 13,000, AGAIN AT AROUND 50,000 MILES AND AGAIN AT 68,000 MILES. REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY FIRST TIME, I PAID THE SECOND TIME, AND TOYOTA SAYS I MUST PAY AGAIN THE THIRD TIME. ARE OTHERS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM? TOYOTA REF. THE CONTACT THEN DISCOVERED UNKNOWN FLUIDS LEAKING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE HAD OVERHEATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD OVERHEATED DUE TO A LOOSE CAP ON THE RADIATOR. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT REPAIRED DESPITE THE WARRANTY. THE CONTACT STATED THE CAP WAS LOOSE BECAUSE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE MECHANIC DID NOT INSTALL THE CAP SECURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
BOTH SUN VISORS HAVE BROKEN OFF OF THE CAR. THE PART OF THE EQUIPMENTS WHERE THE ROD FITS INTO THE PLASTIC PIECE ON THE VISOR ITSELF HAS FAILED. THE PART BROKE, HUNG DOWN IN MY LINE OF DRIVING VISION AND WOULD NOT LOCK BACK IN PLACE. BOTH HAVE NOW BROKEN AND I HAD TO REMOVE THEM TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE SAFELY. I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND USED PARTS FOR JUST UNDER 100 DOLLARS OR I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 130-150 FOR NEW VISORS. I KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH MANY 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY OWNERS. IT SHOULD BE LOOKED AT A SERIOUS FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THESE VISORS. *TR
DASHBOARD IS VERY SHINY AND WHEN ATTEMPTED TO CLEAN, DISCOVERED IT WAS VERY STICKY. OVER THE YEARS IT HAS SPREAD FROM THE PART OF THE DASH CLOSEST TO THE WINDSHIELD AND NOW INCLUDES THE ENTIRE SURFACE. IT'S SO MELTED YOU CAN TAKE CHUNKS OUT OF IT WITH JUST YOUR FINGERNAIL.AND THE GLARE FROM THE SHINE REFLECTING OFF THE WINDSHIELD IS BLINDING AT TIMES. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT ORIGINATES FROM A POORLY MANUFACTURED PART AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BY TOYOTA. *TR

LETTER REGARDING JERKING PROBLEMS WITH THEIR 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY LE ; SEEKING HELP TO RESOLVE ISSUE WITH TOYOTA *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, IT WOULD JERK IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC WHEN SHE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE FOR NO REASON. THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THE PEDALS WERE SENSITIVE AND SHE NEEDED TO GET USED TO THEM. THE DEALER THEN BLAMED THE PROBLEM ON THE CRUISE CONTROL, WHICH THE CONSUMER STATED WASN'T EVEN ON. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE THEN RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN THE MAIL REGARDING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THAT A BAR WOULD BE INSTALLED AS WELL AS FIXING THE CARPET. 2007 TOYOTA CAMRY - WHILE SLOWING DOWN IN TRAFFIC FROM 30 MPH, AS I REACHED APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH THE ENGINE "REVVED UP" ......I HAD TO BRAKE HARDER WHILE THE CAR WAS BUCKING AS IF IT WANTED TO SPEED AHEAD ....AFTER 5 SECONDS, ENGINE SLOWED ABRUPTLY SO THAT WE THOUGHT IT HAD STALLED BUT IT WAS JUST BACK TO THE USUAL IDLING SPEED. THE CAR WAS BROUGHT IN TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP ON JUNE 16, 2010 RIGHT AFTER THIS INCIDENT. THEY EXAMINED THE CAR, FOUND NOTHING WRONG AND CHARGED US $96.00. THIS "REVVING UP" HAS HAPPENED BEFORE BUT NOT AS SEVERE AS THIS OCCURRENCE. SINCE THE JUNE 16 INCIDENT, IT HAS HAPPENED SIX OTHER TIMES SEVERAL OF WHICH WERE SEVERE. I HAVE A CAMRY 2007 XLE WITH 36K MILES. I STARTED NOTICING SOME BRAKE PULSATION WHEN BRAKES APPLIED AT HIGH SPEEDS, OVER 60 MILES PER HOUR, SPECIALLY ON DOWNHILLS. THIS SENSATION STARTED APPEARING AT AROUND 34K MILES. THE STEERING DID NOT VIBRATE AT THAT TIME. I TOOK THE CAR FOR SERVICE FOR ITS 35K MILES. TWO DAYS AFTER THE CAR WAS SERVICED I HAD A LONG DRIVE AND STARTED NOTICING STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION, SOME TIMES MORE VIBRATION THAN OTHERS. ALL WHEN BRAKES APPLIED AT OVER 60 MPH WHEN APPLYING BRAKES MODERATELY TO STRONGLY. I CALLED THE DEALER AND I SAID THAT THE CAR STARTED VIBRATING AFTER SERVICE. HE SAID, THEY DON'T REMOVE BRAKES OR ROTORS WHEN THEY DO MINOR SERVICE TO THE CAR. I ASKED WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE AND HE SAID THAT THE ROTORS MIGHT BE WARPED. THEY WOULD PERFORM A ROTOR RESURFACING AND POSSIBLY PADS REPLACEMENT, DESPITE THE PADS LOOKED OVER 7MM, QUITE NEW FOR REPLACEMENT. I HAVE READ A LOT OF CAMRY COMPLAINTS WITH WARPED ROTORS. THE DEALER SAID ROTORS CANNOT BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. I AM UPSET BECAUSE ROTORS SHOULD BE NOT WARPED AT 36K MILES AND SPECIALLY WHEN PADS LOOK IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE. ESTIMATED JOB WOULD BE AROUND $260.THE CAR FEELS UNSAFE WHEN BREAKING NOW. THIS RESULTS IN THE VISORS NOT STAYING UP AND COMING ALL THE WAY DOWN FACING THE GROUND BLOCKING THE DRIVERS VIEW (AS WELL AS THE PASSENGER'S VIEW). WHEN LOOKING IN BLIND SPOTS, THE DRIVER HITS HIS/HER HEAD ON THE VISOR. THIS CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS AS THE DRIVERS VISION IS IMPAIRED AND UNABLE TO VIEW OUT THE WINDSHIELD. TOYOTA UNWILLING TO CORRECT THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. I HAVE 6YR/100,000 MILE WARRANTY AND ARE ONLY WANTING TO WARRANT PARTS FOR 36,000 MILES. I HAD GOTTEN MY OIL CHANGED AND 2 WEEKS LATER IT WAS 2 QUARTS LOW ON OIL. I TOOK IT BACK TO SEE IF THERE WAS A LEAK AND THEY SAID NO NOTHING WAS WRONG, BUT FROM THAT TIME ON I HAVE HAD TO ADD AT LEAST 2 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY TWO WEEKS. I AM AFRAID MY MOTOR WILL BLOW. THE LIGHT DOESN'T COME ON TO SAY IT IS LOW ON OIL, IF I DON'T JUST CHECK I WILL NOT KNOW. I HAVE HEARD SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FROM OTHERS WITH THE 2007 CAMRY.
