I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND AS SOON AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE CAR DID NOT MOVE AS USUAL, SO I MOVED MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR. ONCE MY FOOT WAS OFF THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR TOOK A CERTAIN SPRING AND UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. I WAS TAKING BY SURPRISED AND QUICKLY ACTED TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE TO SAFETY. I WILL BE REPORTING THIS INCIDENT TO TOYOTA OF NORTH AMERICA AND WILL WAIT FOR THEM TO INSTRUCT ME AS TO WHAT TO DO. SAFETY IS A GREAT CONCERN TO ME AND MY FAMILY AND HOPE THAT TOYOTA DOES THE RIGHT THING AND MAKES SURE TO PROVIDE US AN ANSWER AND REPAIRS OUR VEHICLE. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IS IN REGARDS TO FRED ANDERSON TOYOTA RALEIGH'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I HAVE BOUGHT 4 CARS WITH THIS DEALERSHIP, THREE OF THEM HAVE HAD MANUFACTURES DEFECTS. EVERY TIME I CALL, INCLUDING THIS LAST TIME FOR MY RECALL THEY TELL ME THAT NOT ONLY DO THEY NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE RECALL, IT WILL TAKE THEM "AT LEAST" 30 DAYS TO GET THE PARTS AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS HORRIBLY RUN AND THE FACT THAT THEY DON'T HAVE REMEDIES FOR SERIOUS SAFETY RECALLS READILY AVAILABLE OR AT LEAST ON QUICK DELIVERY IS UNACCEPTABLE. ALSO, THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD TAKE AT LEAST HOURS TO FIX THE PART WHEN IT FINALLY COMES IN BUT ONLY OFFER A RENTAL CAR IF THE FIX IS MORE THAN $400, WHICH OF COURSE, SINCE THIS IS FREE OF CHARGE THE CONSUMER HAS TO FIGURE OUT TRANSPORTATION TO MAKE UP FOR THE FACT THAT THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE SAFE CARS. IT IS MY OPINION THAT FRED ANDERSON TOYOTA RALEIGH'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT WOULD RATHER PUT ITS CUSTOMERS AT RISK THAN FIX THEIR RECALL SO THEY MAKE IT AS HARD AS POSSIBLE TO GET THE FIX TAKEN CARE OF. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT MANAGER AND OWNER OF THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY BOTH IGNORE MY CALLS. ONE WOULD THINK THAT AFTER BUYING 4 CARS WITH THEIR COMPANY THEY WOULD HAVE SOME LEVEL OF CARE FOR MY FAMILY'S SAFETY. THEY DON'T! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND DECELERATION ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A NEARBY TREE. UPON IMPACT, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE FACE AND CHEST AREA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
ON THE MORNING OF MARCH 11, 2014 I WAS DRIVING UP A CURVY ROAD WITH A CO-WORKER IN THE CAR WHEN MY DRIVER'S DOOR UNEXPECTEDLY FLEW OPEN. IT OPENED ON IT'S OWN AFTER 10+ MINUTES OF DRIVING 25-35 MPH AROUND A FEW OTHER CORNERS WITH THE DOOR SECURELY CLOSED. WHEN THE DOOR OPENED THE DASH LIGHT ALERTING ME A DOOR WAS OPEN CAME ON AS WELL AS THE DOOR CHIME. LUCKILY THERE WASN'T ANOTHER CAR COMING FROM THE OTHER DIRECTION OR THEY WOULD HAVE HIT MY CAR DOOR. ON APRIL 2ND I WAS DRIVING FROM MY HOME TO MY OFFICE WHEN MY DOOR UNEXPECTEDLY FLEW OPEN AGAIN WHILE GOING AROUND A TURN. THIS WAS AFTER 5+ MINUTES OF DRIVING AND GOING AROUND A TURN PRIOR TO IT OPENING. THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED WHERE THE DOOR FLEW OPEN, THE DASH ALERT AND CHIME CAME ON. ONCE AGAIN I WAS LUCKY THERE WASN'T A CAR COMING THE OTHER DIRECTION OR THEY WOULD HAVE HIT MY CAR. THE LOCAL DEALER CANNOT VERIFY THE PROBLEM SO THEY HAVE SAID THERE'S NOTHING FOR THEM TO FIX, PUTTING MY SAFETY AT RISK AND OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD AT RISK. I HAVE ASKED TOYOTA CORPORATE FOR HELP BUT SO FAR THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED. *TR
TOYOTA DEALERSHIP INDICATED OUR PROBLEM IS NOT UNUSUAL...MICE AND/OR CHIPMUNKS ARE NESTING ON TOP OF THE CABIN AIR FILTER, CREATING A POTENTIAL AIR QUALITY HEALTH HAZARD TO OCCUPANTS. THE AIR INTAKE WAS SAID TO BE CLOSE TO THE GROUND, MAKING IT EASY FOR RODENTS TO ENTER THE AIR INTAKE. A RECALL IS NEEDED FOR THE DEALERS TO PLACE A SUITABLE BARRIER TO RODENTS AT THE POINT OF ENTRY. *TR
THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS ARE TO CLOSE TOGETHER. I HAVE A SIZE 13 EEE SHOE AND I HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL TO NOT STEP ON THE GAS AND BRAKE AT THE SAME TIME WHICH HAS CAUSED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION "SEVERAL TIMES" WHICH LUCKILY DID NOT INVOLVE ANOTHER CAR. TOYOTA SAYS THEY HAVE SOFTWARE INSTALLED TO PREVENT THIS BUT, IT IS NOT HELPING ME. THEY CLAIM THE CAR IS WORKING AS DESIGNED. I'M A 65 YEAR OLD PROFESSIONAL TRUCK DRIVER WITH 3.5 MILLION SAFE MILES. I HAVE DRIVEN 100'S OF CARS AND TRUCKS AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. I ALSO OWN A 2010 TOYOTA PRIUS AND DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH IT! THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR. FUEL PUMP RUNS WITH CAMRY SITTING IDLE (OFF) IN GARAGE, WITH IGNITION OFF (HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM LOWER REAR OF CAR). HAPPEN FREQUENTLY AND AFTER CAR HAS BEEN SITTING UNUSED FOR HOURS SOMETIMES. NO FUEL LEAKS NOTED. WORRIED THIS COULD BE A FIRE HAZARD. *TR
CPSC: I1440252A. 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY. CONSUMER STATED AFTER USING THE DETAIL DOCTOR, HE ACCIDENTALLY LEFT THE RAG WITH THE PRODUCT ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. THEN SEVERAL HOURS LATER, HE CAME BACK AND FOUND THICK DARK BROWN SMOKE. THE CAR WAS FACING THE SUN AND THE MIRROR REFLECTED ON THE RAG CAUSING A CHEMICAL COMBUSTION FIRE. *LN THE FIRE DEPT. INFORMED THE CONSUMER IT WAS THE CHEMICALS IN THE PRODUCT, THAT CAUSED THE FIRE. THE CONSUMERS INSURANCE COMPANY TOTALED THE VEHICLE. *JB
ON 02-18-2014, I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 55 AND THE SUNROOF/MOONROOF ON MY 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY SUDDENLY, AND WITHOUT APPARENT REASON, IMPLODED. BECAUSE I HAD THE SUNROOF SHADE OPEN, GLASS FLEW INTO THE CABIN OF THE CAR. FORTUNATELY, ALTHOUGH I COULD FEEL GLASS STICKING IN MY FOREARM AND PALM, I WAS NOT CUT AND THERE WERE NO OTHER PASSENGERS IN THE CAR. ALSO, TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT AND I DID NOT CRASH AS A RESULT OF IT. WHEN THE GLASS BROKE, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION. THE SITUATION COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I HAVE SEARCHED IN AND AROUND MY CAR BUT HAVE NOT FOUND ANY OBJECT THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS DUE TO A DEFECT IN EITHER THE SUNROOF OR THE GLASS. LAST APRIL, TOYOTA HAD TO ADJUST MY SUNROOF BECAUSE IT WAS RATTLING. THE REPAIR INCLUDED ADDING SOME SHIMS TO IT. I WAS TOLD THAT BY THE TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THE SUNROOF RATTLE WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL CAR. I BELIEVE THAT THE SUNROOF WAS DEFECTIVE. *TR
TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2012-2013 CAMRY VEHICLES. IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE DRAIN HOSE FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER MAY BECOME CLOGGED CAUSING WATER TO ACCUMULATE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER UNIT HOUSING. THE ACCUMULATED WATER MAY THEN LEAK THROUGH A SEAM IN THE HOUSING ONTO THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN A SHORT CIRCUIT OF THE MODULE. A SHORT CIRCUIT MAY CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO BECOME DISABLED OR INADVERTENTLY DEPLOY.
2012 TOYOTA CAMRY & 2013 TOYOTA AVALON. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO BOTH VEHICLES HEATED SEAT ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER WANTED TO KNOW, HOW COULD A VEHICLE NOT SOLD, POSSIBLY BE DEEMED NOT UP TO VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS, BUT A VEHICLE SOLD WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE BE DEEMED NOT TO BE SUBJECT TO A SAFETY ISSUE.
RECENTLY I EXPERIENCED TWO EVENTS WHICH STARTED ME THINKING ABOUT ONE SAFETY FEATURE OF THE NEW AUTOMOBILE IGNITION SYSTEMS. I HAVE A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY WHICH HAS AN IGNITION KEY (?) WHICH DOES NOT HAVE TO BE INSERTED INTO AN IGNITION KEYHOLE FOR STARTING THE ENGINE. ONE HAS TO PUSH THE START/STOP BUTTON WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO START THE ENGINE, AND JUST HAVE TO PUSH THE START/STOP BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. (THIS IS NOW STANDARD FOR MOST NEW VEHICLES.). ON TWO RECENT OCCASIONS I PARKED MY CAR AND WALKED AWAY WITHOUT PUSHING THE START/STOP BUTTON. I DID NOT REALIZE WHAT I DID FOR TWO REASONS: (1) THE ENGINE RUNS EXTREMELY QUIETLY, (2) MORE IMPORTANTLY, I WAS NOT REQUIRED TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE BY TURNING THE IGNITION KEY WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT I HAVE BEEN DOING ALMOST SUBCONSCIOUSLY. ON BOTH OCCASIONS I DID NOT COME BACK UNTIL ABOUT HALF AN HOUR LATER TO DISCOVER THAT THE ENGINE WAS NOT TURNED OFF. THE SAFETY ISSUE ARISES FROM THE FOLLOWING SCENARIO. SUPPOSE I CAME BACK HOME AT NIGHT, PARKED THE CAR IN THE GARAGE UNDER THE HOUSE, GONE INSIDE THE HOUSE AND RETIRED FOR THE NIGHT. THE PRESENCE OF THE KEY IN MY POCKET DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE CAR IS NOT IDLING. THIS IS THE BIG CHANGE BROUGHT ON BY THE NEW IGNITION KEYS. THE ENGINE RUNNING IN THE GARAGE CAN CREATE AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING SITUATION FOR THE INHABITANTS OF THE HOUSE. A SIMPLE SOLUTION TO THIS POSSIBLE CARBON MONOXIDE BUILD-UP PROBLEM WOULD BE TO INSTALL AN AUTOMATIC ENGINE SHUT-OFF FEATURE IN THE CAR AFTER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME (~20-30 MINUTES) THAT THE ENGINE HAS BEEN IDLING. WHEN I CONTACTED TOYOTA THEY SAID THAT SUCH A FEATURE DOES NOT EXIST IN MY MODEL OF THE CAR. I HOPE YOU WILL STUDY THIS POSSIBLE SAFETY PROBLEM AND COME UP WITH A FEASIBLE SOLUTION. *TR
FRONT COLLISION WITH A FORD FOCUS AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHILE DRIVING A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY LE. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY RESULTING IN INJURIES TO FIVE PASSENGERS. WILL FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH TOYOTA CORPORATION. A POLICE REPORT WAS RECORDED OF ACCIDENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH ON AN ICY ROADWAY, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CONTACT SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES RESUMED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT YET TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000 MILES.
I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT IS NOT TURNED ON WHEN I PLACE MY FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL. IN ORDER TO TURN ON THE LIGHT, I HAD TO PUSH LITTLE MORE THAN I USED TO DO ON THE OTHER NON-HYBRID CAR. BECAUSE THIS VEHICLE HAS REGENERATIVE BRAKE SYSTEM, IT ACTIVATES WHENEVER MY FOOT IS OFF FROM GAS PEDAL, AND STARTS TO SLOW DOWN. ON THE OTHER NON-HYBRID VEHICLE, THE LIGHT IS TURNED ON AS SOON AS I TOUCH THE BRAKE PEDAL, HOWEVER, ON THIS HYBRID VEHICLE, I HAVE TO PUSH MORE TO TURN IT ON. EVEN I CAN STOP THIS CAR WITHOUT TURNING ON THE BRAKE LIGHTS. I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT THIS ISSUE, BUT THEY TOLD ME IT IS WITH IN NORMAL RANGE. BUT I FEEL THIS IS VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. FOR INSTANCE, A FOLLOWING DRIVER BEHIND THIS VEHICLE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO NOTICE THAT IT IS SLOWING DOWN BECAUSE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOT ON, BUT ACTUALLY THE CAR IS STOPPING. PLEASE REVIEW THIS ISSUE AND COMPARE TO OTHER HYBRID VEHICLE WITH REGENERATIVE BRAKE SYSTEM. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT OF HEAD INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,300.
MY SON WAS DRIVING ABOUT 1/2 MILE AWAY FROM HOME WHILE TURNING THE BRAKE FAILED AND HE HIT THE CENTER CURB AND FURTHER TO AN ON COMING (STOPPED) VEHICLE. WHEN HE REALIZED THAT THE BRAKES ARE NOT WORKING HE PRESSED THE EMERGENCY BRAKES THAT SLOWED THE CAR. BUT THE DAMAGE HAD ALREADY OCCURRED. OUR TOYOTA IS 2012 AND HAS BEEN ROUTINELY MAINTAINED BY TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS. BRAKES SHOULD NOT FAIL. WE ARE GLAD THAT THERE WAS NO APPARENT INJURY BUT THE CAR IS LIKELY TO BE TOTALED. I REQUEST TOYOTA TO DO AN INVESTIGATION ON WHAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE BRAKES TO FAIL. *TR
WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN EARLY DECEMBER, 2013 REGARDING NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V442000 DEALING WITH THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE. AT THAT TIME, WE CALLED OUR TOYOTA DEALER FOR THE RELATED SERVICE AND WERE TOLD THE REPLACEMENT PARTS WERE IN LIMITED SUPPLY AND THE EARLIEST WE COULD HAVE THIS SAFETY ISSUE FIXED WAS IN FEBRUARY, 2014. WE MADE THE APPOINTMENT. WE RECEIVED A PHONE CALL TODAY, 1/20/2014, THAT THE APPOINTMENT WAS BEING CANCELLED AS TOYOTA COULD NOT MEET THE CURRENT DEMAND FOR THE REPLACEMENT PART. WE WERE TOLD TO CHECK BACK IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS TO SEE IF THE SITUATION HAS CHANGED. WE ASKED WHAT TO DO IF A PROBLEM OCCURS IN THE MEANTIME AND WE WERE TOLD TO THEN CALL THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. WHEN WE ASKED HOW THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM SINCE THEY ARE SAYING REPLACEMENT PARTS AREN'T AVAILABLE, THE QUESTION WAS LEFT UNANSWERED. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V442000 (AIR BAGS , ELECTRICAL SYSTEM , EQUIPMENT) BUT THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMP CONTINUE TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,900.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR MY 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY, THAT INVOLVES THE HVAC HOUSING AND THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT MY REGULAR SERVICE DEALERSHIP (BRONX TOYOTA) AND TOOK THE CAR IN FOR INSPECTION. I WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE CONSULTANT, THAT THE INSPECTION AND POSSIBLE REPAIR COULD TAKE THREE TO FIVE DAYS.WHEN I ASKED, HOW WILL I BE COMPENSATED FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE, I WAS TOLD THAT I WILL HAVE TO TAKE THAT UP WITH THE MANUFACTURER. I CALLED THE TOYOTA CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE CENTER ( 888 270 9371) AND WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR A SECOND OPINION. I DRIVE TWENTY MILES ONE WAY TO WORK, MONDAYS TO FRIDAYS. I LEAVE HOME ABOUT 8 AM AND RETURN ABOUT 7 PM. I DEPEND ON MY VEHICLE FOR MY LIVELIHOOD, THAT IS WHY I DRIVE A TOYOTA. IT IS NOT FAIR TO BE GOING AROUND IN CIRCLES, JUST TO GET TRANSPORTATION TO GO TO WORK WHILE THEY REPAIR MY VEHICLE FROM A RECALL. WHO ELSE DO I NEED TO CONTACT? PLEASE ADVISE. WHEN I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART AND THE ASST SVC MGR [XXX] TOLD ME HE WOULD GET THE PART AND CALL ME. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM AND WHEN I CALL HE IS ON VACATION. I CALLED THE SERVICE MGR AND LEFT MY INFO AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL BACK. MY CAMRY WAS ONE OF THE CAMRY EFFECTED BY THE EVACUATOR HOSE DYSFUNCTION WHICH LEFT MY CAR DRENCHED IN WATER AND THE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS DAMAGED. PURCHASED A 2012 CAMRY FROM WILSON MOTORS IN BELLINGHAM, WASHINGTON. RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE THAT DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY THAT AIR CONDITIONING WATER COULD LEAK INTO THE AIR BAG CONTROL WE NEEDED TO HAVE A REPAIR DONE. RECALL INDICATED THAT AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY INADVERTENTLY AND CAUSE INJURY OR A CAR CRASH. WILSON MOTORS COULD NOT GIVE US AN APPOINTMENT FOR ONE MONTH BECAUSE TOYOTA MOTORS USA WILL ONLY ALLOW THEM TO FIX ONE CAR PER DAY. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. I HAVE A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT UP AHEAD AND I HAD TO BREAK SUDDENLY. I WAS TRAVELING BETWEEN TWO MAJOR INTERSECTIONS ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF DECORA, IA ON A FOUR LANE ROAD WITH MY LIGHTS ON DIM. I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES AND TURNED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT. AT THIS POINT I REALIZED THE WHITE WERE DEER FEET, THE DEER RAN OFF THE ROAD TO MY RIGHT. I ONLY SAW THE FEET MOVE, I NEVER SAW THE DEER IN FULL. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THE CAMRY HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ALLOW ENOUGH LIGHT TO SHINE ABOVE THE PAVEMENT TO BE ABLE TO SEE A THREAT THAT IS NOT RIGHT ON THE ROAD. IF YOU BRING THE CAMRY AGAINST A WALL YOU WILL SEE THERE IS A LINE IN THE HEADLIGHT SHINE, ABOVE WHICH THERE IS VERY LITTLE LIGHT, IT IS BLACK. THE ONLY LIGHT THAT SEEMS TO SHINE ABOVE IS THAT WHICH BOUNCES UP FROM THE PAVEMENT. THE HEADLIGHTS DO A GOOD JOB OF PUTTING LIGHT ON THE PAVEMENT BUT DO NOT PUT ENOUGH LIGHT ABOVE THE PAVEMENT TO SEE ANYTHING THAT IS NOT FLAT ON THE PAVEMENT. THE BRAKES AND TIRES WORKED WELL, THEY SAVED ME FROM HITTING THE DEER. THIS WAS A VERY CLOSE CALL. THESE HEADLIGHTS ARE A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR

WHEN I WENT TO THE DMV TO REGISTER THE CAR THE DMV SEND ME BACK SAYING THAT THE PAPERWORK WAS NOT CORRECT AND I NEEDED TO TAKE THE PAPERS BACK TO THE DEALER SO THEY CAN CORRECT IT AND GIVE ME THE RIGHT ONE. WHEN I ASKED WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE PAPERS THEY SAID THE DEALER SHOULD KNOW. I HAVE TRIED OVER AND OVER TO GET THE NEW PAPERS FROM THE DEALER SHIP, BUT NO ONE IS WILLING TO HELP ME ON THIS ISSUE.

WHEN PRESSING THE GAS AFTER A COMPLETE STOP THE RPM'S WILL GO UP BUT THE CAR IS BARELY MOVING, IT TAKES A FEW SECONDS BEFORE IT PICKS UP SPEED. THIS IS DANGEROUS AS IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS, BUT IT STILL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.

BEEN HAVE SHIFTING AND SHUDDERING PROBLEMS FOR OVER 15 MONTHS AND 20K MILES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN INTO DEALERSHIP 2 DOZEN TIMES FOR TORQUE CONVERTER FAILURE SYMPTOMS, HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP, SOUTHEAST TOYOTA AND TOYOTA CORPORATE HAVE ALL DENIED THERE'S ANY PROBLEM AT ALL. WELL, TSB 008612 WAS ISSUED ON JUNE 11, 2012 BEFORE I EVEN PURCHASED MY VEHICLE AND THERE IS NO RECORD OF THE SERVICE BEING PERFORMED ON THE TORQUE CONVERTER EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED SEVERAL MONTHS BEFOREHAND. ON OCTOBER 31, 2014 A LSC FOR A TORQUE CONVERTER SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS ISSUED. HMMM, IF NO PROBLEM EXISTS, THEN WHY KEEP ISSUING TSB'S AND LSC'S? EASY ANSWER IS TO AVOID A SAFETY RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE PERFORMED THIS FOR ME WEEKS BEFORE TOYOTA NOTIFIED THE PUBLIC. THIRD PARTY MECHANICAL ANALYSIS SHOWS THAT NONE OF THESE CORRECTIONS HAVE EVER BEEN PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE. I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS CAR AS A CERTIFIED TOYOTA USED CAR WITH 3675 MILES. AT SPEEDS ABOVE 50 MPH THE CAR CONSTANTLY WANDERS FROM RIGHT TO LEFT REQUIRING CONSTANT STEERING CORRECTION. I CONTACTED BOTH A TOYOTA DEALER AND TOYOTA U.S.A. AND BOTH HAD NO RECORDS OF COMPLAINTS AND OR RECOMMENDED ACTIONS TO REPAIR THIS ISSUE. THE CAUSE OF THIS IS MOST LIKELY ASSOCIATED WITH THE EPS (ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING) WHICH TOYOTA STARTED TO INSTALL INTO THE CAMRY IN 2012. EPS HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED AS HAVING A NUMB FEELING AND IN SOME CASES WANDERING STEERING. UNFORTUNATELY, I WAS UNAWARE OF THIS WHEN ACQUIRING THIS 2012 CAMRY. PREVIOUS TO THIS CAR I LEASED A 2011 CAMRY WHICH DID NOT HAVE EPS AND NO SUCH WANDERING STEERING.
