WHEN I USE THE RECIRCULATE ON MY AIR CONDITION THE SYSTEM DEVELOPS A HORRIBLE MOLDY SMELL. THIS WILL HAPPEN AFTER I DRIVE USING THIS AND COME BACK TO THE CAR AFTER IT WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF - THE SMELL WILL NOT GO AWAY UNLESS I STOP USING THE RECIRCULATE BUTTON - THIS WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO USE THE A/C ON THE COLDEST SETTING BECAUSE THAT SETTING TURNS THE RECIRCULATE BUTTON ON. RECENT CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT APPROVED AGAINST TOYOTA FOR THIS. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT MY HEALTH WITH THE POSSIBLE GROWTH OF MOLD.
THE STEERING WHEEL JUST GOT HARD DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY CAR REPORT
I AM GETTING A FLUTTER WHEN I PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL AS I AM DRIVING ON THE ROAD. I THOUGHT IT WAS IN THE WHEEL, BUT IT IS ACTUALLY THE TORQUE CONVERTER. WHEN I CONTACTED TOYOTA THE SECOND TIME ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, A MECHANIC RODE WITH ME TO HEAR WHAT WAS GOING ON. HE STATED IT WAS THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND THAT THEY HAD REPLACED A FEW OF THEM. HE SAID THEY WOULD DO A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND THEN REPLACE THE TORQUE CONVERTER LATER THAT WEEK. I RECEIVED A CALL BACK LATER THAT DAY STATING MY VIN NUMBER WASN'T INCLUDED WITH THE RECALL OF THE TORQUE CONVERTERS AND HE WOULD CONTACT TOYOTA TO SEE IF THEY WOULD STILL COVER IT, BECAUSE THEY HAD COVERED OTHER VEHICLES. I RECEIVED A CALL BACK OVER A WEEK LATER TO STATE TOYOTA SAID THEY WOULD ONLY COVER HALF OF THE COST. THIS DEFECT IS SOMETHING TOYOTA IS FULLY AWARE OF AND SHOULD BE TAKING CARE OF THE COSTS FOR THE CUSTOMER. I HAVE GOOGLED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND A LOT OF 2012 CAMRY'S ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CUSTOMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO COVER THE COSTS OF A MALFUNCTION THAT TOYOTA CAUSED. IF THEY ARE TAKING CARE OF SOME OF THE CUSTOMERS, THEY MOST DEFINITELY SHOULD BE TAKING CARE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH ALL THEIR CUSTOMERS. MY CAR WAS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD WHEN THIS PROBLEM STARTED AND I HAVE TO REPLACE A TRANSMISSION. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. TOYOTA NEEDS TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. TOYOTA DIDN'T SELL DEFECTIVE ENGINES BEFORE, BUT NOW THEY DO. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS. REGARDLESS IF MY VIN NUMBER DIDN'T FALL IN LINE WITH THE RECALL LIST, I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM SO SOMEONE NEEDS TO INCLUDE IT AND HAVE TOYOTA FIX MY CAR. I'M IN THE LAST YEAR OF PAYING FOR MY CAR AND I HAVE TO PUT OUT ALMOST $5,700.00 OUT FOR AN ENGINE? THIS IS NOT HAPPENING. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. TOYOTA NEEDS TO STEP UP AND COVER THEIR DEFECTIVE TORQUE CONVERTER AND TRANSMISSION.
WHEN I START TO DRIVE MY CAR FROM A REST POSITION IT STARTS TO DRAG FOR APPROXIMATELY 30-50 FEET BEFORE IT STARTS THE DRIVE NORMAL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THERE WAS A BURNING ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE HEADREST WAS BURNING CAUSED BY THE SUNLIGHT. THE FAILURE RECURRED A FEW TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000. UPDATED 08/30/16*LJ *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V014000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
VEHICLE NOW AT DEALERSHIP FOR IRREGULAR ACCELERATION PATTERNS, AND RANDOM HESITATION. CAN START OFF AT LIGHT AND VEHICLE DOES NOT RESPOND NORMALLY, AND THEN TAKES OFF. THIS IS SCARY WHILE IN AN INTERSECTION. DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING AND BLAMING ME. I'VE READ MANY INSTANCES ON LINE WITH SAME PROBLEM. HOW DO I HANDLE THIS BEFORE THERE'S AN ACCIDENT? THIS IS DANGEROUS. I'VE SINCE BEEN ADVISED OF PROBLEMS ALSO WITH THIS DEALERSHIP.
I WAS DRIVING ON XPRESSWAY JUST PULLING ONTO IT,PUSH DOWN ON GAS TO GET SPEED AND PEDAL WAS PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND MY CAMRY WOULD NOT GO ANY FASTER THEN 40 I LET UP AND TRIED AGAIN AND STILL 40, THEN ALL AT ONCE IT STARTED GOING FASTER AND FASTER
ON THE COMMUTE TO WORK IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC I WAS IN LINE WITH SEVERAL OTHER CARS. AS THEY BEGAN TO ACCELERATE, I ALSO BEGAN TO ACCELERATE UP TO ABOUT 20 MPH WHEN ONE OF THE CARS IN THE FRONT OF THE LINE STOPPED TO MAKE A TURN ALL THE CARS INFRONT OF ME ALSO STOPPED AND AS I WENT TO ALSO STOP THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT PUSH DOWN AT ALL, FAILING TO ENGAGE THE BRAKES CAUSING MY CAR TO DRIVE INTO THE BACK OF THE STOPPED CAR IN FRONT OF ME, RESULTING IN MAJOR FRONT END DAMAGE. THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY IN THE ACCIDENT.
THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED ON MY 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY. IT WOULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK MECHANICALLY AND HAD TO BE MANUALLY LOCKED OR UNLOCKED. IT FAILED AGAIN LESS THAN TWO YEARS LATER. I HAVE HAD THREE OTHER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURES, TOTALING FIVE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURES ON THE SAME VEHICLE. TOYOTA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS PART.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILED ON MY 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY. IT WOULD NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK MECHANICALLY AND HAD TO BE MANUALLY LOCKED OR UNLOCKED. I HAVE HAD FOUR OTHER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURES, TOTALING FIVE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR FAILURES ON THE SAME VEHICLE. TOYOTA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS PART.
VEHICLE HAS DEFECTIVE SUNROOF DUE TO IMPROPER INSTALLATION FROM TOYOTA FACTORY. DEFECT CAUSES A POPPING/SNAPPING SOUND WHEN CAR GOES OVER BUMPS. TOYOTA ISSUED TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN TO REPAIR DEFECT T-SB-0151-13. HOWEVER ONLY APPLIES TO VEHICLES WITHIN 3YR 36K WARRANTY WINDOW. NOT SURE WHAT SAFETY ISSUES MAY BE CONSIDERED. *TR
START IN TO TRAFFIC ANIT WILL STOP ACCELERATING FOR 2OR 3 SECONDS , PEOPLE BEHIND YOU WILL ALMOST HIT YOU AFTER YOU START WHEN IT HESITATES
BRAKES FAILED WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING, I SUDDENLY HAD NO POWER BRAKING AND HAD TO STOMP ON THE BRAKES TO AVOID A COLLISION. CAR HAS ONLY 44,000 MILES AND BEEN DRIVEN 29 MONTHS. AT THE DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS A FAILED BRAKE BOOSTER AND WOULD COST OVER $3000 TO REPAIR. THE CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED. I AM LUCKY NOBODY WAS HARMED BUT THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY FAILURE ON A CAR THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE VERY SAFE AND RELIABLE, AND A RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE REPAIR IN ADDITION. AFTER I COMPLAINED THEY WROTE OFF 80% BUT STILL COST $600 OUT OF MY POCKET TO REPLACE A DEFECTIVE TOYOTA BRAKE SYSTEM. *TR
I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION OF MY CAMRY AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE CAR ON THE THIRD LEVEL OF A PARKING GARAGE. THE CAR HAD BEEN OPERATING NORMALLY UNTIL I RELEASED MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO PULL INTO THE PARKING SPACE. SUDDENLY THE CAMRY STARTED ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN. I APPLIED THE BRAKES, BUT THE CAR DID NOT SLOW DOWN OR STOP. SINCE I DID NOT WANT TO CRASH INTO ONGOING CARS OR GO OVER THE EDGE UNTO THE STREET BELOW, I CHOSE TO CRASH INTO THE PARKING SPACE. THE CAR WENT OVER THE ABUTMENT INTO THE CINDERBLOCK WALL. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A GENTLEMAN TRIED TO REMOVE THE CAR FROM THE ABUTMENT BUT SAID THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING NOR COULD HE GET THE CAR TO MOVE. HE WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. TWO HOURS LATER THE TOW TRUCK OPERATOR COULD REMOVE THE CAR FROM ITS SPOT WITH THE BRAKES WORKING. THE BODY SHOP CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES OR ACCELERATOR PEDAL. CORPORATE TOYOTA HAD AN EDR RUN. THE MANUFACTURER CONCLUDED: "AFTER ROAD TESTING YOUR VEHICLE AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, CONDUCTING ACCELERATION AND BRAKING TESTS, WE FOUND NO ISSUES." TOYOTA DID NOT ADDRESS THE FACT THAT THE PROBLEM COULD HAVE BEEN IN THE SOFTWARE PROGRAM THAT MALFUNCTIONS INTERMITTENTLY. I FEEL THAT THE CAR IS DANGEROUS SINCE IT GIVES NO WARNING OF AN ACCELERATION PROBLEM; THEREFORE, I DONATED THE CAR TO AN INSTITUTION WITH THE STIPULATION THAT IT COULD NOT BE DRIVEN ON PUBLIC ROADS. THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. AND WHEN I BOUGHT MY CAR, I ALSO HAD PURCHASED THE PLATINUM VEHICLE SERVICE AGREEMENT THAT HAD A 0 DEDUCTIBLE AND AN EXPIRATION OF 75,000 MILES. I THOUGHT WE HAD LEMON LAWS IN PLACE FOR THESE TYPES OF PROBLEMS. ULTIMATELY I HAVE HAD TO ASSUME THE FINANCIAL BURDEN CAUSED BY WHAT IS REALLY A TOYOTA PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN ENERGY SAVER A/S TIRES, SIZE: 205/65/16 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES EXHIBITED TREAD SEPARATION WITH EXCESSIVE CRACKS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED THAT THE FOUR TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
3/31/2015 7:05 AM AFTER I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL TO TURN IN MY DRIVEWAY, THE CAR JUST TOOK OFF. I BRAKED AND IT WOULD NOT STOP. I RAN INTO THE RIGHT FRONT CORNER OF MY GARAGE, THROUGH MY NEIGHBORS FRONT YARD ON THE RIGHT OF MY HOUSE. AS I SPED THROUGH MY NEIGHBORS YARD I MOWED DOWN A SMALL TREE. THEN THE NEXT MONTH IN NOVEMBER 2014 START MAILING LETTERS TO THE CUSTOMER SAYING WE HAVE JUST ISSUED WARRANTY ENHANCEMENT NOTIFICATION - ZE5 TO DO THREE THINGS, PUT IN A NEW TORQUE CONVERTER, ADDITIONAL TRANSMISSION PAN MAGNETS, AND UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. THIS PUTS BOTH LSC E03 AND WEN ZE5 IN PLAY AT THE SAME TIME FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I RECEIVED MY LETTER FOR WEN ZE5 IN THE MAIL. I CALL AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT FOR WEN ZE5 AND IN GOOD FAITH WALK INTO MY LOCAL TOYOTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT PRINCIPAL TOYOTA MEMPHIS, TN IN MARCH OF 2015 WITH MY WEN ZE5 LETTER IN MY HAND AND SAY I AM HERE TO GET WEN ZE5 TAKEN CARE OF. IN GOOD FAITH I PICK UP MY CAR THINKING THAT WEN ZE5 HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF. HOWEVER, IT TURNS OUT THAT WHAT WAS DONE WAS LSC E03 AND NOT WEN ZE5(REPLACE TORQUE CONVERTER). THE TIRE PRESSURE TENDS TO FLUCTUATE OFTEN REQUIRING WEEKLY AIR CHECK TO MAINTAIN THE PROPER PSI. THE DRIVER FRONT TIRE PSI COLD WILL READ 36 , FRONT PASS 34 , REAR DRIVE R35, REAR PASS AT 36, WHEN THE TIRES HEAT UP AFTER APPX. 38 MILE OUT AND YOU CHECK THE PSI IT WILL READ 39, 39. 36,37, OR AT TIME YOU MAY GET 39,37.39.F YOU HAVE TO COME TO A STOP LIGHT, SUDDEN STOP, OR A STOP AT NIGHT ON A NON FAMILIAR ROAD LIKE I HAD TO IN THE RAIN ON A UNEVEN ROAD THE VEHICLES TAIL END TENDS TO SLIDE TO THE LEFT AND THE FRONT END FEELS AS IF YOU HIT A POT HOLE DO TO SLIGHT WEAR AND TEAR GROVES IN THE ROAD THAT DON'T BECOME APPARENT UNTIL YOUR ON THAT 1 TO 2 FEET SECTION IN THE ROAD. IS THIS A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH ANY OTHERS OR AM I OVER BEING OVER CONCERNED WITH THE DRIVE PERFORMANCE ON UNEVEN PAVEMENT OR ROADS. MY CONCERN IS THE ABUSE ON THE BRAKE COMPONENTS, THE STEERING , THE TIRES , FUEL CONSUMPTION AND KEEPING CONTROL OF YOUR VEHICLE . THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING OUT OF GAS SERVICE STATION AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED TO ENGAGE CAUSING THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO A FENCE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED AND NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,500.
VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING AND CHANGING TO SECOND GEAR. IT JUST STARTED LAST MONTH. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE CORRECTED WHEN I HAD THE TORQUE CONVERTER RECALL REMEDIATED BUT TRANSMISSION STILL HESITATES. TRANSMISSION ISSUES???? *TR
ON THIS DATE I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO HENRICKS OF TOYOTA OF APEX BECAUSE WHEN BACKING SLOWING WITH VEHICLE AND TOUCHING THE BRAKES IT WOULD MAKE NOISE AS IF THE CALIPERS WERE LOOSE. THE MECHANIC STATED HE COULD NOT HEAR ANYTHING, SO THEN I ASKED HIM TO COME WITH ME WHILE I DRIVE IT. WE WERE ON AN INCLINE BACKING AND I PUSHED THE BRAKES AND HE STATED THE NOISE THAT HE COULDN'T HEAR, HE HEARS NOW AND STATED THAT THE BRAKES ARE LOOSE IN THERE AND THAT IS NORMAL BECAUSE IT IF WAS TIGHTER IN THERE THEN IT WOULD MAKE SQUEALING NOISE AND THAT WITH THE MOISTURE THAT RUST CAN BUILD UP IN THERE AND CAUSE THAT NOISE. THERE HAD BEEN ANOTHER DEALER IN THE AREA THAT DID NOT WANT TO BACK UP THEIR BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND THE ATTORNEY GENERAL HAD TAKEN THE DEALER TO COURT AND WON A JUDGMENT FOR THE CUSTOMERS AND THEY HAD TO PAY UP! AS I AM DRIVING I CAN HEAR A CRACKING NOISE COMING FROM THE SUNROOF THEY FOUND IT WAS A WELD THAT HAD BROKEN LOOSE AFTER SOME RESEARCH I'VE REALIZED THAT MANY OTHER TOYOTA OWNERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. RECENTLY I NOTICED THE FRONT DOOR PASSENGER SIDE WOULD NOT WORK WITH THE REMOTE AND I HAD TO OPEN MANUALLY FROM INSIDE. I HAD TOYOTA CHECK IT AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ATTENUATOR WHICH I REPLACED. TWO DAYS LATER THE RIGHT SIDE BACK DOOR IS UNABLE TO OPEN BY REMOTE AS WELL. WHEN THE DOORS OPEN THE CAR GIVES OFF A STEADY NOISE SUGGESTING THAT THE ATTENUATOR IS NOT WORKING. STEERING IS STIFF CAUSING OVER/CORRECTING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. IT CAUSES ARM TO GET TIRED DRIVING EVEN AFTER ONLY A FEW MILES. IT IS FRUSTRATING AND TIRING TO DRIVE I PREVIOUSLY HAD A 2007 CAMRY XLE AND THERE IS NOW COMPARISON AS TO HOW EASY THE 2007 STEERED. NEED HELP.
FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW, MY CAR VIBRATES FOR NO REASON, WHETHER I AM DRIVING SLOW (40-50 MPH) OR FASTER. RECENTLY, THE ISSUE IS GETTING WORSE.
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH MY 2012 CAMRY. PURCHASED IT NEW AND STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS AROUND 3,500 MILES. FIRST, NOTICED A MILDEW SMELL THAT THEY STATED WAS FROM THE AC WHICH THEY FIXED. CONTINUED TO HAVE THE ODOR AND FOUND OUT 15,000 MILES LATER THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE AC THAT WAS PRESSING ON MY AIRBAGS SO THE ENTIRE AIRBAG SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HAD SEVERAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT RESULTED IN EVERY LIGHT AND ICON IN MY CAR FLASHING AND BEEPING WHICH STARTED AROUND 20,000 MILES. OCCASIONALLY, THE CAR WOULD NOT TURN ON AS A RESULT OF THIS ELECTRICAL ISSUE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY SAID THE BATTERY WAS FINE AND THEY THOUGHT IT WAS A 'GHOST IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM'. THEN MY AC BLOWER WENT OUT AROUND 40,000 AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. ALSO, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK AROUND 45,000 MILES AND WAS MAKING A CLICKING NOISE. THEY SAID THE ACTUATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ONCE THIS WAS REPLACED, THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR STARTED MAKING THE SAME NOISE AND WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THIS ACTUATOR AS WELL. OVERALL, I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS CAR SINCE TOYOTA IS SUPPOSEDLY ONE OF THE BEST AUTOMOTIVE COMPANIES AROUND. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS VEHICLE TO ANYONE AS I FELT IT WAS VERY UNSAFE DUE TO LEAKING TUBES/FLUIDS THAT RESULTED IN AIRBAG PROBLEMS AND MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL GLITCHES THAT AFFECTED THE CAR'S ABILITY TO TURN ON/DRIVE. *TR

WHILE TRAVELING ON A PARKWAY AT 55 MPH THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE POWER STEERING CEASED TO WORK RESULTING IN EXTREME DIFFICULTY CONTROLLING/STEERING THE CAR. AFTER GETTING THE CAR OFF THE ROAD I RESTARTED IT AND THE EPS WAS WORKING. I CONTINUED TRAVELING AND WITHIN 10 MINUTES THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND SEVERAL CASES OF EPS FAILURE AT SLOW SPEEDS, NONE AT HIGHWAY SPEED. *TR

Recall was completed on 11/25/14 for a shudder when hitting 35 to 50. The recall was a software issue and they show that a torque converter may have been needed at a later date to further correct the issue. Looking for Toyota to follow up with a complete recall vs just the software.

HAVE WORKED WITH A LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER PAST TEN MONTHS REGARDING THE FOLLOWING ISSUE: WHEN COMING TO A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT THEN YOU ACCELERATE THE CAR THEN LOSES POWER FOR 4 SECONDS. MET WITH THE TOYOTA FIELD TECHNICAL SPECIALIST RECENTLY WHO HAD ME DRIVE. WE COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. HOWEVER, HE NOTICED I PLACED MY LEFT FOOT ON THE BRAKE ONCE. HE HAD ME LOOK DOWN AT MY FOOT AND SAID THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN YOU PLACE YOUR LEFT ON THE BRAKE AND THEN ACCELERATE WITH YOUR RIGHT FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR. THIS CAUSED BY THE "SOFTWARE" DEVELOPED TO ELIMINATE THE "SUDDEN ACCELERATION PROBLEM" TOYOTA EXPERIENCED TWO YEARS AGO. THIS CAN OCCUR ANY TIME IF DAY. I TOLD HIM THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE. YOU GET THE GREEN YOU TRAFFIC IS HEAVY YOU ACCELERATE AND THEN 4 SECONDS LATER THE RPM'S DROP DRASTICALLY AND ALL THE TRAFFIC BEHIND YOU COMES VERY CLOSE TO REAR-ENDING YOU!!! I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED THIS WHEN DRIVING IN THE MERGING LANE ON INTERSTATES. ONE DOESN'T CONSCIOUSLY BRAKE USING YOUR LEFT FOOT. IT JUST HAPPENS OCCASIONALLY. IF ONE EXPERIENCES THIS ISSUE. WHEN I ACCELERATE THE CAR WHEN THE RPM'S ARE BETWEEN 1,500 AND 2,500 RPM, THERE IS A SHUDDER AND DELAY IN ACCELERATION. THE CAR SHAKES UNTIL I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL VERY HARD. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO APPLE VALLEY TOYOTA DEALER (MARTINSBURG, WV) FOR ANALYSIS ONE MONTH AFTER PURCHASE (JANUARY 3, 2103). THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. THERE WAS A RECENT CAMPAIGN BY TOYOTA TO UPDATE TORQUE CONVERTER SOFTWARE. THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS DONE AT APPLE VALLEY TOYOTA IN MARTINSBURG, WV (NOVEMBER 12, 2014). THE SOFTWARE DID NOT CHANGE THIS BEHAVIOR. I TOOK IT IN TO BACK TO APPLE VALLEY TOYOTA (NOVEMBER 17, 2014) AND THEY RE-EVALUATED THE CAR AND THEY STATED THAT IT "OPERATES AS DESIGNED BY TOYOTA." I FIND THIS CAR DANGEROUS TO OPERATE BECAUSE OF THE DELAY IN ACCELERATION THROUGH INTERSECTIONS. I DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER FAMILY MEMBER DRIVE THIS CAR UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED.
