THE VEHICLE HESITATES TO ACCELERATE BECAUSE OF THE FUEL PUMP BEING RECALLED. NO REMEDY HAS BEEN GIVEN.
I ACTUALLY RECEIVED A EMAIL FROM Y'ALL SAYING THERE IS A RECALL ON MY TIRES... BUT WHEN I LOOKED IT UP ON HERE NOTHING POP'S UP. V
CAR PUT EMERGENCY BRAKES WITHOUT ANY CAR IN FRONT ME AND MY WIFE WAS SCARED WHY IT BRAKED.IF CAR IS DROVE MORE THAN 65 MPH CAR START TO SHAKE THAT IT WILL FLIP OVER AND EVEN EXPERIENCE MILEAGE DROP IN FIRST WHEN WE USE TO FILL THE TANK UP IT SHOWS 400 MILES NOW WE FILL THE SAME GAS AND SAME AMOUNT OF GAS IT SAYS 320 MILES OR 350 SOMETIMES MOST SCARY PART IS WHEN THE CAR TRY TO SHAKE WHEN YOU'RE TRY TO TAKE OVER ON HIGHWAY ABOVE 65 MPH HOW TOYOTA FIND THE SOLUTION FOR IT MY CAR JUST HAVE 38K ON METER WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP THEY SAID EVERYTHING IS OKAY WITH THE CAR AND THE SAD PART IT IS THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T INFORM US THAT THEIR IS A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP THEN THEY SAID WE HAVE DIAGNOSED YOU'RE CAR THEIR IS NOTHING WRONG SO I ASKED THEM DO MY CAR GAS A RECALL ON IT THEY SAID NOPE THEN I PULLED UP NHSTA RECALL PAPERWORK FOR MY CAMRY 2018 IT'S SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT THAT DEALERSHIP GAMBLE WITH YOU'RE LIFE THAT'S ALL HOPE THIS MATTER WILL BE LOOKED INTO THANK YOU
THE CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH A LOW-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WHICH MAY STOP OPERATING WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE ENGINE RUNNING ROUGH AND THE VEHICLE TO STALL, THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH DURING DRIVING. TOYOTA HAS IDENTIFIED THIS PROBLEM AS EARLY AS JANUARY 2020 AND NOTIFIED ME IN WRITING IN OCTOBER 2020, BUT AS OF TODAY (FEB 21, 2021), IT HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED THE STALLING PROBLEM, BUT I AM WORRIED THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN ANYTIME WHILE I AM DRIVING ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEED IN THE FREEWAY. I AM WRITING TO COMPLAIN BECAUSE WHEN I CONTACTED TOYOTA ON FEB 20, 2021, IT HAS NOT PROVIDED A REMEDY OR A FIX TO THE PROBLEM, AND IT HAS BEEN A YEAR SINCE IT FIRST IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM.
Left rear cross traffic sensor fell into rear bumper (adhesive failure?). This is the second incident. Toyota service manager claims it was knocked into bumper by external force although that is not what happened. The sensor failed when groceries were loaded into trunk during Covid. This is the exact sensor that was repaired by the service department previously claiming it was due to adhesive failure. There is no way to disable the sensor failure alarm on the dashboard display so there is a constant rear sensor failure alarm blinking constantly on the dashboard which is annoying.
WHEN I AM MAKING A COMPLETE TURN EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT MY STEERING WHEEL WILL STALL OUT ON ME INTERMITTENTLY BEFORE THE TURN IS COMPLETED. THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN MY VEHICLE IS IN MOTION EITHER ON A STREET, MY DRIVEWAY, OR TURNING OFF OF THE HIGHWAY
AN EMERGENCY MESSAGE CAME ON TELLING ME MY BRAKES WERE LOSING POWER BAND I NEEDED TO PULL OVER TO A SAFE AREA. I WAS ON THE FREEWAY! I COULD NOT PUSH DOWN. I HAD TO USE THE PARKING BREAK AND GO INTO A LOWER GEAR TO GET TO THE SHOULDER THEN MY CAR CAME TO A STOP IN THE CROSSWALK OF THE FREEWAY EXIT. VACUUM PUMP STOPPED WORKING. WENT IN TO REPLACE IT AND THE BACKSIDE IS DECENTIGRATED INTO THE MOTOR. NEEDS CAMSHAFT ASSEMBLY/EXHAUST REPLACED, INVESTIGATE THE MOTOR TO LOOK FOR PIECES SO THEY DON'T DAMAGE THE MOTOR, NO GEAR AT THE END OF THE VACUUM PUMP, IT HAS GONE DOWN NOT THE MOTOR
SAFETY RECALL SINCE OCTOBER 2020 YET PART IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE IN FEBRUARY 2021 DISCOVERED ONLINE AND NO AVAILABLE ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME
STEERING IS STIFF AND HARD AT TIMES. POWER STEERING WAS LOOKED AT BY FAMILY MECHANIC. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP
MY AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM HAS BEEN GOING OFF EVEN WHEN A CAR IS NOWHERE NEAR, TODAY I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM. WHEN GOING TO YIELD, THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, AND IT FELT LIKE THE CAR STALLED, I COULD NOT MANUALLY BRAKE AND IT RESULTED IN ME REAR ENDING THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME.
I HAD RECENTLY BEEN TOLD THAT THE CAMRY MODELS THAT ARE EQUIPPED WITH A 2.5 4 CYLINDER HAVE ENGINE ISSUES SUCH AS STALLING AND I HAVE BEEN IN NUMEROUS SITUATIONS TO WHERE NOT ONLY MYSELF, BUT OTHERS COULD HAVE BEEN HURT TERRIBLY. ONE MORNING I WAS JUST CASUALLY DRIVING AND AS I WAS TURNING LEFT THE CAR AHEAD OF ME BRAKED AND SPED AHEAD AND TO MY RIGHT I CAN SEE A CAR RUNNING A RED LIGHT AND I ALSO HAD TO FLEE THE AREA BUT, WITH THE ENGINE STALLING THERE WAS A LATE RESPONSE AND THANKFULLY GOD WAS WITH ME THAT DAY AS NONE OF MY FAMILY MEMBERS WERE HURT OR HARMED, BUT THIS IS A SERIOUS MATTER THAT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE IT CAN CAUSE PEOPLE TO LOSE THEIR LIVES.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he had experienced the failure approximately five times. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The contact owns a 2018 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20-25 MPH and approaching the red traffic light, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond. The contact quickly engaged the parking brake and completed the stop. The warning message "Low Braking Power - Stop in A Safe Place - See Owner’s Manual" and the brake warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and checked the brake fluid as stated in the Owner’s Manual. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who informed the contact that her VIN was included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V890000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part for the recall repair was not yet available. The contact then received a recall notification. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided contact with a rental vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 84,729. THERE HAS BEEN AN OPEN RECALL ON MY CAR FOR MONTHS AND TOYOTA HAS NOT CAME UP WITH ANY TYPE OF REMEDY TO FIX THIS ISSUE. 'THE SUBJECT VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A LOW-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WHICH MAY STOP OPERATING. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR, WARNING LIGHTS AND MESSAGES MAY BE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND THE ENGINE MAY RUN ROUGH. THIS MAY RESULT IN A VEHICLE STALL, AND THE VEHICLE MAY BE UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. IF A VEHICLE STALL OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS, THIS COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.' SOUNDS PRETTY DANGEROUS AND THIS IS THE CAR I TRAVEL WITH MY KIDS IN, I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN TOYOTA BRCAUSE THIS WAS ONCE LISTED AS THE SAFEST CAR ON THE ROAD.
CAR BATTERY CONSISTENTLY DIES EVEN WHEN VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN OPERATION FOR ONE FULL DAY. I HAVE A DASH CAM THAT IS IN OPERATION ALL THE TIME AND DISCONNECTED IT THINKING IT WAS THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. TODAY IS THE 10TH TIME THE CAR BATTERY HAS DIED IN 3 MONTHS.THIS TIME I HAD THE KEY IN THE SLOT TURNED ONE NOTCH (CAR ENGINE NOT TURNED ON) AND WAS PLAYING MUSIC VIA BLUETOOTH, WHEN SCREEN FLICKERED AND EVERYTHING WENT OUT. DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NO ISSUE WITH BATTERY AND REFUSES TO CHANGE IT.
THIS RECALL IS LONG OVERDUE TO BE FIXED. WAS NOTIFIED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY 2018 CAMRY . HAVENT BEENCALLED FOR REPAIR AND MY CAR IS OVER TWO YEARS OLD. DOESNT SEEM TO BE A FAST REPAIR.

ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTION OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING. POWER WINDOWS, AIR BAGS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, HEADS UP DISPLAY, CLIMATE CONTROL, LANE ASSIST, AUTO LIGHTS, SEAT WARMERS, LANE ASSIST AND COLLISION SENSORS NOT WORKING. SINCE AUTO-LIGHTS FEATURE NOT WORKING, I HAD TO MANUALLY TURN ON LIGHTS AND AFTER 20 MINUTES OF DRIVING, THEY SHUT OFF.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. THERE SEEMS TO BE AN INCOMPLETE RECALL (FUEL PUMP) FOR WHICH TOYOTA HASN'T HAD A REMEDY PREPARED YET. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT ON, EVEN THOUGH I HAVEN'T HAD ANY ACCIDENT YET.

The contact did not receive notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V890000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the vehicle experienced the failure listed in the recall. The contact stated that while driving in stop-and-go traffic, the braking system malfunctioned, and the brake pedal became very firm almost causing the vehicle to crash into the rear of another vehicle. During the incident, the message "low brake power" was displayed. The vehicle was eventually towed to the local dealer who informed that the failure was due to the recall however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE OF THE PURGE VALVE AND CHARCOAL CANISTER CAUSED THE FUEL PUMP TO USE MORE OIL THAN NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.

THE DASHBOARD STATES 27 MPG, BUT I'VE BEEN TRACKING MILEAGE ON A PAPER LOG, AND THE VEHICLE IS REALLY ONLY RECEIVING APPROXIMATELY 19 MPG. I LOOKED TO IT TO SEE WHAT IT COULD BE, AND AFTER LOOKING UP ACTIVE RECALLS, REALIZED THAT IT WAS SYMPTOMS OF THE FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTIONING. I TOOK IT TO SCOTT CLARK TOYOTA; A MANUFACTURER'S DEALER, AND THEY REFUSE TO REMEDY THE SITUATION.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR REFUSED TO STOP. IT WAS VERY HARD TO PRESS THE BRAKE,AND IT WOULD NOT STOP. INITIALLY IT WOULD NOT GO IN PARK OR NEUTRAL. TRIED STARTING VEHICLE IN THE MORNING, TEMP WAS ABOUT 70 DEGREES, CAR HAS THE PUSH TO START BUTTON. BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH AN AFTERMARKET YELLOW TOP DEEP CYCLE BATTERY ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START, CAR ACTED AS IF THE BATTERY WAS VERY LOW IT TURNED OVER, DASH WENT BLACK FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS AND CAR STARTED VERY FORCEFULLY. CAR HAD BEEN PARKED UNDER CARPORT FOR ABOUT 16 HOURS. THE DAY BEFORE CAR WAS IN THE SAME CONDITIONS AND STARTED RIGHT UP NO PROBLEMS.

ON SEPTEMBER 29TH 2020 AT 7:20PM EST THE 2018 TOYOTA CAMRY DID NOT WANTED TO START EVEN AFTER PUSHING THE BREAK AND START BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES. AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT FINALLY TURNED ON AND THE CAR STARTED TO SHAKE. THE ENGINE ALSO HAD A FUNNY RATTLING NOISE AND A MASTER LIGHT CAME ON MY DASHBOARD. AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN REVERSE THE BACK CAMERA SCREEN ALSO HAD A MASTER LIGHT ON WITH RCD OFF SIGNAL. AFTER DRIVING FOR A ABOUT 12 MINUTES AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH THE CAR STALLED AND I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR LESS THAN ONE YEAR AND ALL MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE ACCORDINGLY TO SCHEDULE. I EVEN HAD TO PAY TOYOTA FOR A FULL DIAGNOSTIC CHECK UP ON JULY 08TH 2020. ON 9/24/20 WE EXPERIENCED A HEAD ON COLLISION IN WHICH BOTH OCCUPANTS EXPERIENCED INJURIES FROM THE SEATBELT (PASSENGER HAD A FRACTURED STERNUM), AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. ONCOMING CAR CROSSED THE CENTERLINE ON A CURVE, BOTH CARS WERE MOVING. I WOULD DISPUTE THE SPEED OF THE OTHER CAR AS I BELIEVE IT WAS GOING MUCH FASTER THAN STATED IN THE POLICE REPORT. OUR VEHICLE MAY VERY WELL HAVE PERFORMED AS DESIGNED (TOYOTA HAS BEEN CALLED TO CONFIRM), WE ARE THANKFUL TO BE HERE, BUT FEEL THE INJURIES COULD HAVE BEEN MINIMIZED IF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. OTHER VEHICLE HAD AIRBAGS DEPLOY, BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER WALKED AWAY.
