JUST LEAVING WORK TO GO PICK UP MY CHILDREN FROM SCHOOL, I NOTICED A STRANGE RATTLING COMING FROM THE BOTTOM SIDE OF MY TRUCK. I STOP AND PROCEEDED TO SEE WHAT IT MIGHT BE. I NOTICED THE MIDDLE (OF THREE) LEAF SPRINGS HAD COMPLETELY BROKE, SLID OUT OF PLACE, AND WAS RUBBING AGAINST MY BRAKE LINE. I THEN TAPED IT BACK IN PLACE TO PREVENT ANY FURTHER DAMAGE TO MY BRAKE LINE. THE FOLLOWING AFTERNOON I WAS ABLE TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE SERVICE ADVISOR (#8987) THAT THERE WAS NO SIGN OF ANY EXTERNAL SHOCK OR DAMAGE THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS. HE THEN EXPLAINED TO ME THAT HE "SAW NO REASON WHY THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED". *TR
WAS APPROACHING A RED TRAFFIC SIGNAL, COASTING IN CASE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN BEFORE THE NEED TO STOP. LIGHT WAS STILL RED, SO I STEPPED LIGHTLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE WAS NO SIGN OF BRAKING. I THEN INCREASED PRESSURE ON THE PEDAL, WITH NO BRAKING ACTION. SURPRISED AND CONCERNED, I THEN SET MY LEFT FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PUSHED WITH ALL I HAD WITH BOTH FEET, BUT THERE WAS NO BRAKING ACTION THAT I COULD FEEL. THE TRUCK STOPPED AS IT BUMPED THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. ENGINE SPEED WAS NORMAL WHEN THE EVENT BEGAN, AND WHEN THE EVENT ENDED. I DID HEAR A RELATIVELY MINOR INCREASE IN ENGINE SPEED DURING THE EVENT. THE BRAKES WORKED PROPERLY BEFORE AND AFTER THE EVENT. ONE ADDITIONAL NOTE. FOR YEARS I HAVE NOTICED A FEW TIMES PER YEAR A MOMENTARY INCREASE IN ENGINE SPEED IMMEDIATELY AFTER STOPPING AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. THE SPEED INCREASE IS GREATER THAT AN A/C SPEED PICKUP, BUT LASTS ONLY BRIEFLY, THEN RETURNS TO IDLE. I KEEP MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH ENOUGH PRESSURE THAT THE TRUCK DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD. HAD TRUCK TOWED TO DEALER FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT. DEALER FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THEY SPOKE WITH TOYOTA REPS AND WERE TOLD TOYOTA WAS UNAWARE OF ANY PROBLEM. UNABLE TO TRUST THE TRUCK AND HAVING BEEN ADVISED THAT FORD HAD SIMILAR BRAKE FAILURES IN THE PAST CAUSED BY ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR, I PAID THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE ACTUATOR. AFTER SPENDING MORE THAN $1200 FOR REPAIR, I STILL DO NOT KNOW IF THE BRAKES WILL FAIL AGAIN. A BRIEF INTERNET SEARCH INDICATES TO ME THAT THIS WAS NOT A LOAN, RANDOM EVENT AS INDICATED BY TOYOTA REPS. THE CONSEQUENCES OF BRAKE FAILURE ARE SERIOUS. THE DEALER DID PROVIDE ME WITH THE ORIGINAL ACTUATOR THAT WAS REMOVED FROM THE TRUCK DURING THE REPAIR WORK. I WILL PROVIDE THE ORIGINAL ACTUATOR FOR ANY LEGITIMATE AGENCY TO CHECK IT OUT IF THAT COULD BE HELPFUL. *TR
TRUCK STEERING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, PARTICULARLY AT LOWER SPEEDS, BECAME STIFF AT TIMES AND REQUIRED MORE FORCE TO MAKE EITHER A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN. IT DID SEEM TO AFFECT THE STEERING WHEN GOING STRAIGHT, MEANING IT DID NOT DRIFT OR PULL TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT, EVEN ON TAPERED ROAD SURFACE. WHEEL DID NOT PULL WHEN BRAKING. I UNDERSTAND THERE MAYBE BULLETIN CONCERNING THIS ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V604000 (SUSPENSION); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
AT FIRST ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO , CAR STARTED VIBRATING AT LOW SPEED AND DISAPPEAR AT HIGHER SPEED. ON 3/13/14 TRAVELING A ABOUT 30MPH , THERE WAS A SUDDEN VIBRATION (CAR SHAKING VIOLENTLY ) THEN A LOUD BANG UNDERNEATH THE DRIVER SIDE. GLIDED THE CAR ALONG SIDE THE ROAD, DID A VISUAL INSPECTION UNDER THE CAR AND NOTICE THE FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT WAS HANGING THERE. MY TRUCK HAS BEEN EXPOSE TO CARRYING HEAVY LOAD. THE HEAVIEST LOAD THAT THIS TRUCK CARRIED WAS AN UPRIGHT FREEZER THAT I BOUGHT FROM K-MART. IS MY TRUCK INCLUDED IN THAT 2007 FOR DRIVETRAIN PROBLEM??? IF SO WHERE CAN I GET INFO ON THIS? MY PROBLEM IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE 2007 RECALL ON BAD CASTING. *TR
MY 2007 TACOMA HAS SERIOUS FRAME RUST. I HAVE READ ABOUT EARLIER TACOMA'S WITH FRAME RUST, ONE WOULD OF THOUGHT TOYOTA WOULD HAVE FIXED THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE TOYOTA STEP UP AND ADMIT THEY HAVE A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THEIR TRUCK FRAMES. *TR
WHILE STOPPED TO TAKE A TICKET BEFORE ENTERING A GARAGE, WITH THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND MY RIGHT FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE TWICE ACCELERATED TO OVER 6,000 RPMS. THE ACCELERATION LASTED ABOUT 3 OR 4 SECONDS BEFORE THE ENGINE RETURNED TO NORMAL IDLE. MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE GAS PEDAL, BUT RATHER ON THE BRAKE. MY TACOMA HAS A STANDARD TRANSMISSION. LAST WEEK, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AS I APPROACHED A STOP SIGN - CAR IN NEUTRAL, FOOT ON THE BRAKE, NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR, AND THE ENGINE ZOOMED TO 6K RPMS. I CONTACTED THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW IN 2007 AND WHO HAS SERVICED THE VEHICLE EVERY 5K MILES SINCE PURCHASE AND I HAVE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR THIS FRIDAY. ALL THE INFORMATION I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO READ ABOUT TOYOTA AND THIS PROBLEM IS FROM A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND REFERENCES TOYOTA'S COVER UP OF THE ISSUE, ETC. IS THERE A MORE CURRENT SOURCE OF INFORMATION THAT WOULD HELP GET THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED, SINCE IT DOES APPEAR THE THAT ISSUE IS WITH THE ELECTRONICS AND NOT THE MECHANICS? IS THE TRUCK SAFE TO DRIVE? *TR

PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY TO FIND THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS INTERMITTENTLY STIFF DURING TURNING. BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE UNTIL I TOOK IT TO A DEALER TO FIND THAT THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT WAS APPARENTLY BAD. DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. I CAN NO LONGER HAVE MY WIFE OR CHILDREN USE MY TOYOTA TACOMA FOR FEAR THAT SHE DOES NOT HAVE THE PHYSICAL STRENGTH TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. *TR
I HEARD A LOUD NOISE (BOOM), GOOD THING I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPPED AND STALLED. WHEN THE TOW PEOPLE CAME AND SAW THE DAMAGE UNDERNEATH, IT WAS THE DRIVE SHAFT JOINT THAT BROKE. I COULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE IS FAIRLY NEW, MY MECHANIC IS HAVING A HARD TIME LOOKING FOR PARTS (DRIVE SHAFT) AND ALL THE OTHER PARTS THAT WERE DAMAGED BECAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT. *TR
WHILE MAKING A TURN ON TO THE ENTRANCE RAMP TO THE HIGHWAY STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD TO MOVE.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, SHE SUDDENLY DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND CAUSED THE CONTACT TO CRASH INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED A FEW YEARS LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200. UPDATED 3/31/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED SHE PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE EXITING BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE DRIVER WAS INJURED DURING THIS ACCIDENT. *TR
REAR LEAF SPRING ON LEFT SIDE BROKE AT APPROXIMATELY 105,000 MILES. THE LEAF BROKE AT BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR MOUNTING POINTS. THE LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE DROPPED THREE INCHES AND THE BROKEN SPRING MADE CONTACT WITH THE BOX FRAME. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS NO LOSS OF DRIVING CONTROL. BOTH REAR LEAF SPRINGS HAVE SQUEAKED SINCE 2010 AND REQUIRED PERIODIC LUBRICATION TO QUIET THEM. THIS IS A ONE-OWNER VEHICLE DRIVEN IN THE MILD WEATHER OF THE MID-ATLANTIC STATES. *TR
THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE ACTUATOR/TRANSFER CASE MOTOR WENT OUT. IT WAS NOT REPAIRABLE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR A CONSIDERABLE PRICE. FROM WHAT I LEARNED FROM THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN OFTEN. *TR
TIMING CHAIN COVER SEAL IS LEAKING OIL. COMMON DEFECT IN THIS YEAR TACOMA, RESULTING FROM LACK OF PROPER SEAL APPLICATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, AN ABNORMAL SOUND EMITTED FROM THE WHEELS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE WHEEL BEARINGS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED A TOTAL OF SIX TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
I BOUGHT MY TRUCK USED. A TOTAL OF FIVE TIMES I'VE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF SUSPENSION ISSUES. EACH TIME I WAS TOLD THERE'S NOTHING WRONG. MY DRIVE SHAFT WAS REPLACED A YEAR AGO. I NOTICED THE LEAF SPRING STICKING OUT AND BROKEN. I TOOK MY TRUCK STRAIGHT IN. I WAS TOLD THE TRUCK WAS UNDRIVABLE. TOYOTA GAVE ME A RENTAL AND REPLACED THE LEAF SPRINGS. I PICKED MY TRUCK UP THREE DAYS LATER THINKING THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED THEN TWO DAYS AFTER THAT, MY TRUCK FELT LOOSE AND WAS MAKING A POPPING SOUND WHEN I PUT IT INTO REVERSE. IT FELT LIKE THE DRIVE LINE WAS OUT AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO BE LOOKED AT AGAIN. I WAS TOLD MY DRIVELINE U BOLT SNAPPED AND WAS CAUSED BY THE BROKEN LEAF SPRING. TOYOTA WOULDN'T FIX THE DAMAGES BECAUSE THE SHOP THEY RECOMMENDED DIDN'T USE TOYOTA PARTS. MY TRUCK HAD 250000 MILES ON IT. THE DAMAGES TO MY TRUCK WERE ADD DO EXTREME THAT I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO GIVE IT BACK TO THE BANK. THE VIBRATIONS CAUSED TRANNY DAMAGE AND THE AXLES AND DIFFERENTIAL THE FRAME HAD DAMAGE BECAUSE THE LEAF SPRING WAS SHOVED UP INTO IT.(I WASN'T TOLD UNTIL AFTER) NO I'VE GOT NOTHING..... THANKS TOYOTA...... *TR
OXYGEN SENSOR LIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY CYCLED ON AND OFF FOR OVER ONE YEAR. EVENTUALLY ECM REPLACED. PART #:89661-04C44. ORIGINALLY QUOTED REPAIR PRICE: $1,100.00. *TR
THE BRAKES ON MY TRUCK SQUEAK TERRIBLY SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. IT SEEMS TO SLIP AND GRAB WITH EVERY TURN.
THE CLEAR COAT ON THE FRONT BUMPER OF THE CAR IS PEELING OFF. IT IS NOT LOCALIZED TO ONE AREA IT SPANS ABOUT 75% OF THE FRONT BUMPER LIKE A SCAR OF PEELED CLEAR COAT.
FIRST TRIP TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM INSPECT EXCESSIVE RUST ON FRAME WAS 09/01/10 WITH 38707 MILES ON THE ODOMETER TOYOTA WORLD OF NEWTON STATED THAT THE SURFACE RUST WAS CONSISTENT WITH NORTHEAST DRIVING SECOND TRIP TO TOYOTA WORLD OF NEWTON TO INSPECT FRAME SEPARATING ON 11/01/13 WITH 74942 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. TOYOTA INSPECTED AND CONFIRMED PERFORATIONS IN RIGHT SIDE FRAME RAIL AND NO PROGRAMS OR CAMPAIGNS ON THIS MODEL YEAR TRUCK WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM TOYOTA WORLD OF NEWTON 2/20/07 I DO NOT BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE PERFORATIONS IN A FRAME OF A TRUCK THAT IS 6 YEARS OLD..... *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE MAKING A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SUDDENLY BECOME VERY HARD TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE ORANGE BULB IN THE HEADLIGHTS BURNT THROUGH PLASTIC CASING INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT. ONE SIDE HAS CRACKED. I'M NOT EXACTLY SURE WHEN THIS HAPPENED, BUT I DID NOTICE IT A WHILE BACK THAT THE BULB WAS BURNING THE PLASTIC, HOWEVER, I JUST NOTICED THAT IT CRACKED ON ONE SIDE. *TR
AS YOU ARE DRIVING THE STEERING IS STIFF AT VARIOUS POINTS WHILE TURNING THE WHEEL AND REQUIRES SOME FORCE TO CORRECT THE STEERING. IT IS WORSE FROM A STANDING START. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN TRACED TO A BAD STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT. SERVICE BULLETIN NUMBER: T-SB-0057-12 OR SB-0119-10 REV2. THIS PROBLEM ALSO SHOWS UP AS RATTLING NOISE, OR STEERING BEING SLOPPY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 TOYOTA TACOMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, SHE HEARD A POPPING SOUND IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WITHOUT WARNING, STEERED THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT WHERE IT CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE DRIVER WAS INJURED WITH A FRACTURED PELVIS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000. I FIRST NOTICED THAT THE STEERING ON MY 2007 TACOMA IS VERY OFTEN EXTREMELY STIFF TURNING IN EITHER DIRECTION LAST YEAR. I BROUGHT IT IN TO THE DEALER TO CHECK IT OUT. WAS TOLD: "LOWER SHAFT STARTING TO GET STIFF". WAS QUOTED A REPLACEMENT/REPAIR COST AROUND $550. COULD NOT AFFORD THAT AT THE TIME. THIS PROBLEM HAD BEEN INTERMITTENT BUT NOW HAPPENS NEARLY EVERY TIME I USE THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. LOOKS LIKE I WILL HAVE TO PAY TOYOTA TO FIX THIS. MY RESEARCH INDICATES THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE "STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT NUMBER 2". IT SEEMS THIS PART IS EITHER DEFECTIVE OR POORLY DESIGNED AS THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON MANY AUTOMOTIVE WEBSITES WHICH SPECIFICALLY CITE THIS VEHICLE FOR A RANGE OF YEARS FROM 2005 ON. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE FRONT SIDE OF THE REAR PROPELLER SHAFT SEPARATED FROM THE JOINT AND DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V324000 (POWER TRAIN ). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 170,000.

WHEN HE TURNED ON THE AC, THE IDLE WOULD INCREASE AND THE TRUCK WOULD STOP VIBRATING. ALSO, IF HE PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL, THE RPM WOULD INCREASE AND IT WOULD STOP VIBRATING. THE CONSUMER STATED HE CHECKED UNDER THE VEHICLE, BUT DIDN'T SEE ANY VISUAL LEAKS. AS HE PROCEEDED TO SLIDE FROM UNDER THE TRUCK, THE FRONT TIRE ROLLED OVER HIS HEAD AND CHEST. THE TRUCK ROLLED ACROSS THE STREET AND HIT A STREET SIGN. THE CONSUMER STATED HE AND A FRIEND RE-CREATED THE INCIDENT. THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE FRIEND TOUCHED A LINKAGE, HE SAW THE SHIFTER MOVE TOWARD THE BACK OF THE TRUCK, STAYING IN THE SLOT FOR PARK. THE TRUCK THEN ROLLED WHILE MAKING A CLICKING NOISE. THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKE AND THE TRUCK STOPPED, HE PUSHED THE SHIFTER FORWARD AND THE TRUCK RE-ENGAGED INTO PARK. THE CONSUMER STATED HE COULD ONLY RE-CREATE THE PROBLEM, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON AN INCLINE. ALL FOUR DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS HAVE FAILED ONE AT A TIME, AND REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY (AT THE TIME). SINCE THEN, TWO OF THEM ( BOTH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE) HAVE FAILED AGAIN AFTER THE 1 YEAR REPLACEMENT PART WARRANTY RAN OUT. THIS POSSES A SAFETY HAZZARD AND A SECURITY RISK TO MYSELF AND ANYBODY ELSE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ON THE INTERNET, IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, AND THEREFORE SHOULD BE UNDER A SAFETY RECALL.

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE RECALL NOTICE OF A DEFECTIVE SPIRAL CABLE IN THE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND CONSUMER SEEKS REIMBURSEMENT FOR RECALL REPAIRS. *SMD TOYOTA SENT THE CONSUMER A LETTER OF DENIAL FOR REIMBURSEMENT, BECAUSE THEY DID NOT RECEIVE PROOF OF PAYMENT, WHICH THEY DEFINED AS A COPY OF A CANCELLED CHECK OR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT. THE CONSUMER THEN SENT TOYOTA A COPY OF THE CANCELLED CHECK,. TOYOTA THEN RESPONDED BY ASKING FOR THE REPAIR ORDER, WHICH THE CONSUMER HAD ALREADY SENT THEM. THE TRUCK HAD APPROXIMATELY 62,000 MILES WHEN WE DROVE IT TO FLORIDA CHRISTMAS DAY. ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 30TH, WE RAN SOME ERRANDS THAT COVERED ABOUT 15 MILES OF CITY DRIVING. UPON RETURNING TO OUR HOTEL, AS WE BACKED IN TO A PARKING SPACE, THE TRUCK ACCELERATED WILDLY. THE TIRES SCREAMED AS WE BACKED UP ONTO A PARKING BERM (PICTURES INCLUDED) AND CONTINUED TO SQUEAL WHILE MY FOOT WAS STANDING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I PUT THE TRUCK IN DRIVE, THE TRUCK CAME OFF OF THE BERM, BUT THE TIRES WERE STILL SQUEALING ALL THE WHILE I'M STILL STANDING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I PUT IT IN PARK RIGHT AWAY AND SHUT IT OFF. LOOKING DOWN AT THE PEDALS, THERE WAS NOTHING UNUSUAL TO NOTE. NO MATS HAD MOVED AND THE PEDALS WERE AS THEY SHOULD BE. IF IT WERE NOT FOR THE BERM, THERE IS NO TELLING OF WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES WOULD HAVE BEEN. I RECALL THAT AS WE BACKED IN, MY FOOT WAS EITHER ABOUT TO STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL OR I HAD ALREADY BEGUN TO BRAKE. MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE ACCELERATOR BECAUSE, WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ON, THE ENGINE HAS SUFFICIENT RPM'S TO SLOWLY MOVE THE TRUCK WITHOUT IT. I WENT OUT A FEW HOURS LATER TO START THE TRUCK AND MOVE IT BACK AND FORTH. AT THAT TIME, EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. I ALSO TOOK PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE BERM AND TIRES AT THAT TIME, WHICH I CAN SUPPLY. THIS WAS A VERY UNNERVING EXPERIENCE AND I'VE BEEN MINDFUL OF IT SINCE. EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN A COUPLE OF WEEKS SINCE THE INCIDENT, I'M UNSURE I CAN HAVE FAITH THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I HAVE SINCE GONE TO THE DEALER WHO PREFORMED TWO OPEN RECALLS, BUT SAID THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF ANY "INCIDENT" AS STATED ABOVE EVER HAPPENING. *TR
I RAN INTO THE BACK OF A TRUCK WHO WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED, AND I WAS MOVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35-40MPH ON IMPACT. THE IMPACT WAS PERFECTLY SQUARE INTO THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS WEARING MY SEAT BELT, HOWEVER I WAS STILL PUSHED INTO THE STEERING WHEEL QUITE HARD. FORTUNATELY I SUSTAINED NO MAJOR INJURIOUS, AND ONLY SUFFERED MINOR ACHES AND PAINS. *TR

AT APPROXIMATELY 42000 MILES I NOTICED A VIBRATION IN THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WHEEL. I HAD ALL FOUR WHEELS REPLACED AND THE VIBRATION CONTINUED SO I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ESTABROOK TOYOTA IN PASCAGOULA, MS (BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE I WAS AT THE TIME). WHEN I WENT TO PICK THE VEHICLE UP I WAS TOLD THE REPAIR MANAGER HAD PERSONALLY CHECKED THE CAR OUT AND DETERMINED IT WAS THE RIGHT FRONT BEARING SO IT WAS REPLACED AND SUPPOSEDLY TEST DRIVEN. I LEFT THE STORE AND IMMEDIATELY FELT THE VIBRATION ONCE AGAIN ON THE LEFT FRONT SO I BROUGHT THE CAR RIGHT BACK AND THEY REPLACED THE LEFT FRONT BEARING AS I HAD INITIALLY IDENTIFIED AS THE PROBLEM AREA AND THE PROBLEM WENT AWAY. NOW, TWO YEARS LATER THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING HAS GONE OUT ONCE AGAIN AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. *TR
MY TRUCK HAS A VIBRATION IN THE REAR OF THE TRUCK WE HAVE BALANCED THE DRIVE LINE 3 TIMES REPLACED BOTH U-JOINTS AND THERE IS STILL A VIBRATION BETWEEN 30 AND 40 MILES PER HOUR. I TOOK IT TO THE TOYOTA DEARER SHIP AND THEY KEEP IT ALMOST 2 WEEKS AND FIRST SAID IT WAS THE TIRES, AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION AND THEN THE WHEELS AND THEN MAYBE IF I SPENT THE MONEY AND PUT A NEW DRIVE LINE ON THAT MIGHT FIX THE PROBLEM BUT NOT SURE. HAVE SEEN ON NUMEROUS OTHER TOYOTA VEHICLES WITH THIS DESIGN CABLE SYSTEM FROM 2004 TO 2012 MODEL YEARS. REAR BRAKES CAN OVERHEAT AND CAUSE FIRE OR UNEVEN BRAKE OPERATION AND LOW PEDAL FEEL. *TR
