I BOTH MY 2010 VW CC IN 2017 AND A YEAR AGO AND I'M HEAVING JERKING OR BUCKING DURING STOP AND GO OR A DELAY IN POWER WHEN STEPPING ON GAS PEDAL. IT'S GOTTEN TO THE POINT THAT I REALLY HATE STOP AND GO TRAFFIC; I FEEL LIKE I'M DRIVING AN OLD CAR WITH ISSUES AT THE MECHANIZATION UNIT OR AT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. I KNEW IT'S ABOUT AN ISSUES AT THE MECHATRONIC UNIT VALVE. IT BUCKS AND SHAKES LIKE IT'S ABOUT TO STALL. I'M FINDING MYSELF RELUCTANT ABOUT HAVING PASSENGERS IN THE CAR BECAUSE OF SHEER EMBARRASSMENT. IT IS ALSO VERY PROBLEMATIC FOR MANEUVERING AND PARKING THE CAR BECAUSE IT CAN BE DANGEROUS AND EVEN CAUSE ACCIDENTS. IT HAPPENS MAINLY IN STOP AND GO WHEN PARKING/TRAFFIC. HOW SERIOUS DOES THE PROBLEM NEED TO BE FIXED IN ORDER FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE UNIT AS A RECALL? BEST REGARDS.
THERE'S ALREADY A RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE BUT VOKSWAGEN TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE SPECIFICALLY IT'S NOT SHOWING ANY RECALLS. VOLKSWAGEN REFUSES TO ADMIT THAT MY VEHICLE HAS THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (BOARDWALK VOLKSWAGEN, 1 BLAIR ISLAND RD, REDWOOD CITY, CA 94063 866-694-5805) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WHEN EITHER SLOWING DOWN OR COMING TO A STOP MY CAR STARTS JERKING , I ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE AND I CANNOT , MY CAR SEEMS TO GOING INTO A NEUTRAL STATE. THE DRIVE (D) GEAR FLASHES SO I AM STUCK. I HAVE TO PUT MY CAR INTO PARK (P) TURN OFF MY CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC THEN TURN IT BACK ON TO DRIVE. ALSO, IF I AM IN THE DRIVE (D) GEAR AND I NEED TO GO IN REVERSE (R) I HAVE TO PUT INTO PARK (P) THEN TURN IT OFF AND THEN MOVE INTO THE REVERSE (R) GEAR. THIS STARTED HAPPENING INTERMITTENTLY, I TOOK IT TO VW AND THEY DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL O'REILLYS AND THEY SAW A P2711 CODE, I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL TRANSMISSION REPAIR AND THEY TOLD ME THEY GET A LOT OF THESE COMPLAINTS AND SUGGESTED I REPORT IT TO YOU.I I ALSO CALLED THE VW DEALERSHIP IN TALLAHASSEE FL WHERE I PURCHASED MY CAR THEY TOLD ME IT COULD COST ANYWHERE FROM $5000 TO $1100 TO FIX. IN MY RESEARCH I SAW THE SAME THING HAPPENED IN AUSTRALIA WHERE A LADY DIED BECAUSE THE GEAR SHIFTED FROM DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING. I AM AFRAID FOR MY SAFETY AND MY DAUGHTERS WHO RIDE WITH ME. VW NEEDS TO RECALL THE DSG TRANSMISSION AND IMPLEMENT A FIX.
ACCORDING TO THE VW DEALER I HAVE TO WAIT TO BE CALLED BUT NHTSA WEB PAGE STATES THAT FOR VEHICLES IN ZONE A (HOT AND HUMID) FROM MAY 2011 AND OLDER THE REPLACEMENT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SCHEDULED IN MAY 16, 2016. IT IS DECEMBER 2016 AND I AM STILL WAITING. PLEASE ADVISE.
TAKATA RECALL HAS YET TO BE ADDRESSED ON MY VEHICLE. WHEN WILL VOLKSWAGEN BE ABLE TO MAKE THE REPLACEMENT? I AM CONCERNED THAT IT HAS BEEN MORE THAN NINE MONTHS WITHOUT A SOLUTION.
CLOCK SPRING RECALL RECENTLY MY AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON AND WHEN I MAKE A TURN WITH A STEERING WHEEL ROTATION OF OVER 270* MY HORN WILL GO OFF, I ALSO ONLY HAVE INTERMITTENT USE OF THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS TO MY INSTRUMENTATION. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE YEAR AND MAKE OF MY CAR FOR THE CLOCK SPRING, HOWEVER MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. THE SIGNS POINT TO A DEFECTIVE CLOCK SPRING TO WHICH I LOST THE FUNCTIONALITY OF MY AIRBAG AND THE ELECTRONIC FUNCTIONALITY OF MY STEERING WHEEL. I CALLED VW SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY SAID MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL SO THERE IS NO NEED TO BRING IT IN. I REALLY DON'T FEEL SAFE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE CONSIDERING THERE HAS BEEN AN OPEN RECALL INVOLVING THE TAKATA RECALL FOR WELL OVER A YEAR. REGARDING TAKATA RECALL. LET ME START BY SAYING THAT I HAVEN'T BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT THE RECALL AND HAVE BEEN DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE WHICH IS UNEXCEPTABLE. I PURCHASED ANOTHER VEHICLE IN DECEMBER 2016 AND INTENDED TO SELL MY VW RIGHT AWAY TO AVOID MAKING 2 CAR PAYMENTS, INSURANCES ETC. TO MY SURPRISE NOONE WOULD BY THE VEHICLE AND ONE OF THE POSSIBLE BUYERS THAT I HAD INFORMED ME ABOUT THE RECALL. OBVIOUSLY I WAS VERY FRUSTRATED THAT NOT ONLY I WASN'T NOTIFIED ABOUT THE ISSUE TO START WITH AND WAS DRIVING AN UNSAFE CAR BUT NOW I'M STUCK WITH THE VEHICLE NOONE WILL BUY BECAUSE THERE IS NO FIX TO IT AND THEY'VE BEEN WORKING ON IT FOR OVER A YEAR. I TALKED TO VW AND REQUESTED A BUY BACK BUT JUST LEARNED THAT VW WILL NOT DO IT. I'M A SINGLE MOTHER AND CAN'T AFFORD KEEPING AND MAINTAINING TWO VEHICLES. IS THERE ANYONE ELSE I CAN REACH OUT TO HELP ME?
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, I HEARD A LOW POP, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN AND COLLIDED WITH 4 OTHER PARKED VEHICLES. UPON INSPECTING MY CAR AFTER THE INCIDENT, THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY UNHINGED FROM THE VEHICLES STEERING AND SUSPENSION SYSTEM. VEHICLE TOWED TO BODY SHOP AND UPON FURTHER INSPECTION IN THE DAY TIME, THE ENTIRE LOWER AND UPPER CONTROL ARM HAD COMPLETELY FAILED. THE RIGHT FRONT AXLE WAS RIPPED FROM THE STEERING KNUCKLE, A PART OF THE LOWER CONTROL ARM WHERE THE BUSHING WOULD BE WAS BROKEN. THE ENTIRE RIGHT FRONT SUSPENSION SYSTEM HAD BASICALLY COLLAPSED, CAUSING ME TO LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE'S STEERING SYSTEM. THIS VEHICLE IS SERVICED AT OURISMAN VOLKSWAGEN OF ROCKVILLE MD. THEY DID NOT NOTIFY ME THAT THIS WAS AN ISSUE. THE VEHICLE DID NOT EXHIBIT SIGNS THAT THERE WAS A POTENTIAL PROBLEM WITH THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM SUCH AS VIBRATIONS IN THE FRONT END. THERE WOULD BE AN OCCASIONAL CLUNK HEARD WHEN REVERSING, BUT WAS TOLD THAT WAS FROM THE ENGINE MOVING IN THE SUBFRAME AND THE REMEDY WOULD BE TO INSTALL SUBFRAME BOLTS. *TR
TAKATA RECALL. MY CAR'S VIN SHOWS THAT MY DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG IS INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. VW IS NOT EVEN LISTED IN THE PRIORITY GROUPS, YET MY CAR IS NOW 7 YEARS OLD AND I'M IN ZONE A (WHERE THE PROPELLANT IS SAID TO DEGRADE TO AN UNSAFE LEVEL IN 6-9 YEARS). I KNOW MANY PEOPLE (NON-VW DRIVERS) WHO'VE HAD PASSENGER-SIDE BAGS REPLACED. I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST DRIVER'S-SIDE AIRBAGS ARE PRIORITIZED OVER PASSENGER-SIDE; PASSENGERS CAN RIDE IN THE BACK SEAT OR NOT AT ALL, BUT A CAR IS COMPLETELY USELESS IF IT'S UNSAFE FOR THE DRIVER/ CANNOT BE DRIVEN. OR PLEASE REQUIRE VW TO PROVIDE LOANERS; THEY ARE NOT DOING SO AT THIS TIME. I SPOKE WITH THEM AGAIN TODAY. IF NOT, WHAT AM I TO DO? I LIVE IN LA, WHERE A CAR IS NECESSARY.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED IN 4/2013 AT WHICH TIME IT HAD 44423 MILES ON IT. I HAVE HAD ALL REQUIRED MAINTENANCE, RECALLS AND REPAIRS PERFORMED AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED FROM. NOW AFTER 3.5 YEARS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE AND ONLY PUTTING 31,577 MILES ON IT, THE CAR WOULDN'T ENGAGE WHEN TRYING TO PARK. WHEN PARALLEL PARKING, I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE AND IT MAKES A NOISE LIKE IT IS TRYING TO GO INTO REVERSE AND IF IT WON'T ENGAGE THE "R" STARTS FLASHING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. I HAVE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK (THE "P" WILL THEN FLASH) AND TURN IT OFF AND TURN IT ON AND THEN IT WILL WORK. USUALLY AFTER DRIVING THE CAR 3 TIMES OR SO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS OFF AND CLEARS, BUT THEN A DAY OR SO LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENS. THIS HAPPENED LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND REPAIR PERFORMED TO CORRECT COMPLAINTS WAS (1) REPLACEMENT OF THE DUAL CLUTCH PACK WHICH REQUIRED THE REMOVAL AND RE-INSTALL OF MY TRANSMISSION WHICH COST ME $2,600.00. I BELIEVE THE DSG TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY. NOW AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED, I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION JERKING WHILE GOING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I HAVE OWNED 3 PREVIOUS VOLKSWAGENS AND CUSTOMER CARE WAS ONE OF THE REASONS THAT BROUGHT ME BACK TO THESE CARS. UNFORTUNATELY, CUSTOMER CARE IS PRETTY MUCH NON-EXISTENT NOW. I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED. ALSO, I HAVE HAD THE CLOCK SPRING MALFUNCTION 3 TIMES, WHICH IS 1 OF THE 2 RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE. THIS ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING FROM A STAND STILL AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE TRANSMISSION (AUTO DSG) FAILED TO CHANGE TO SECOND GEAR BUT RATHER DISENGAGED PREMATURELY CAUSING LOSS OF MOVEMENT. THIS OCCURRED AT AN INTERSECTION AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR ONLY CAUSED THE ENGINE TO REV UP BUT NO MOVEMENT (AS IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN NEUTRAL). ONLY WAY TO RECOVER WAS TO PUT ON HAZARDS LIGHTS, PLACE TRANSMISSION IN PARK, SWITCHED OFF THE CAR, SWITCHED ON AFTER 30 SECONDS AND DRIVE AWAY. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 VOLKSWAGEN CC. THE CONTACT NOTICED A FOUL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE FUEL PUMP FLANGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I HAVE A 2010 VW CC WITH 63,000 MILES. THE ENGINE COILS KEEPS GOING OUT AND I COULD HAVE DIED ON THE FREEWAY, WHEN THE CAR LOSES CONTROL. I HAVE OWNED MANY OTHER BRANDS AND NEVER HAD THIS MANY REPAIRS ON A CAR. THERE IS A QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE AND SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. IN A MATTER OF 5 MONTHS, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE AN ENGINE COIL. BOTH TIMES, I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. THIS IS AN UNSAFE, POORLY MADE CAR.
HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED OF RECALL FOR OVER 6 MONTHS WITH NO RESOLUTION AND NO FURTHER CONTACT FROM VOLKSWAGEN GROUP.
ON THE HIGHWAY I WAS CHANGING LANES TO GET OFF TO AN EXIT AND MY CAR LOSS POWER. IT WAS THE SCARIEST THING EVER AS I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR ANYMORE OTHER THAN STEERING. FORTUNATELY THERE WASN'T THAT HEAVY OF TRAFFIC SO I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF THEN ON AND THE FLASHING D THAT WAS ON MY SCREEN HAD STEADIED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME THING HAPPEN AGAIN THE VERY NEXT DAY.

THE RECALL HAS BEEN OUT FOR OVER 6 MONTHS AND STILL NO REMEDY - THIS IS DANGEROUS! NO CRASH HAS OCCURRED..... YET!! BUT THERE IS A 21 YEAR OLD MALE COLLEGE STUDENT DRIVING THE CAR. NEED A REMEDYASAP!
TAKATA RECALL. STEERING WHEEL STILL CLICKING. AND ENGINE LIGHT ON FOR EMISSION ISSUE, WHICH GOES ON ONLY WHEN TURNING AND EVENTUALLY GOES BACK OFF.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE ABRUPTLY CUT INTO THE CONTACTS LANE, THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH FORCE AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS WELL AS THE RADIO FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR FACILITY FOR DIAGNOSIS WHO REPLACED THE CLOCK SPRING ASSEMBLY. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF TWO MANUFACTURER RECALLS MONTHS LATER FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V078000 (AIR BAGS). IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V509000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
REAR MAIN SEAL LEAKING OIL, SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE ON THESE CARS WITH THE TSI ENGINE. DEALER NEEDS ADDRESS THIS ISSUE, MANY CONSUMERS ARE REPORTING THIS IS A FAILURE FROM THE FACTORY. I JUST PAID $1000 TO FIX

"TAKATA RECALL" CONSIDERING HOW SERIOUS THIS RECALL IS, I AM UNCOMFORTABLE AND HONESTLY SCARED TO EVEN DRIVE MY CAR. IF I AM IN A WRECK, ONE EVEN AT NO FAULT OF MINE, I COULD DIE FROM THE ONE PART OF THE CAR THAT IS SUPPOSED TO PROTECT ME? I WANT TO KNOW HOW LONG UNTIL MY CAR CAN BE SERVICED AND THIS CAN BE FIXED? THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY FORCE TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO STEER THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE HORN AND ALL THE BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO OPERATE. THE AIR BAG AND STEERING WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT EVERYTHING IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING WAS INDEPENDENTLY REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V483000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
FUEL PUMP MODULE AND TAKATA INFLATORS WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY ON THE WAY TO WORK MY CAR ENDED UP LOSING POWER AND COMPLETELY SHUTTING DOWN WHILE IN MOTION. THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER SHUT OFF ALL OF MY LIGHTS INSIDE AND OUT. AS SOON AS THIS HAPPENS I BEGIN TO PRESS ON MY BRAKES ONLY TO NOTICE THAT MY BRAKES FELT LIKE THEY WERE LACKING PRESSURE. THE LACK OF PRESSURE ON THE ROTARS MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SLOW DOWN AND WITH THERE BEING NO POWER ALSO MADE IT DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEEL. I MERGED OVER TOWARD THE SHOULDER AND ENDING UP HITTING SOME TYPE OF WATER RUN OFF DIP THAT CAUSED MY CAR TO BOUNCE UP AND BLOW OUT MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE. THE BLOWOUT WAS WHAT HELPED ME SLOW MY CAR DOWN AND BRING IT TO A STOP. THAT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE BODY OF MY CAR. AFTER STOPPING I TRIED CHECKING IF THE CAR WOULD TURN ON AND IT HAD NO RESPONSE. I THEN HAD IT TOWED AWAY. THAT WAS IN 2016 AND TO THIS DAY THE CAR HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET FIXED.

THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:16V078000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD SEND A REPRESENTATIVE TO INSPECT THE AIR BAGS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.

THE ENGINE BEGAN TO STALL WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE BATTERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND CONTINUED. THE ENGINE FAILED AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY AT FULL SPEED, TOTAL LOSS OF POWER. THIS TIME THE BATTERY, CHECK ENGINE AND EPC INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. VECHICLE WOULD NO LONGER TURN OVER AND WAS TOWED TO VW DEALERSHIP. IT HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED THAT THE CHAIN TENSIONER FAILED, CAUSING THE TIMING CHAIN TO LOSE POSITION THROWING THE CAMSHAFT, RODS AND PISTONS OUT OF SYNC RESULTING IN TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE. MY VECHICLE ONLY HAS APPROXIMATELY 85K MILES AND THERE IS NO SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE FOR THE TIMING CHAIN IN THE SERVICE MANUAL UNTIL 120K MILES. IT'S ALSO UNHEARD OF FOR AN ENGINE OF THAT MILEAGE TO LOSE TIMING WHILE RUNNING AND THAT IT GAVE NO PRIOR WARNING TO THE IMPENDING FAILURE.

TAKATA RECALL - I'VE BEEN HEARING ABOUT THIS RECALL FOR OTHER MANUFACTURES FOR THE PAST YEAR. I JUST RECEIVED MY NOTIFICATION FROM VW FEW WEEKS AGO. I'VE BEEN UNABLE TO GET THIS RECALL COMPLETED DUE TO VW NOT HAVING THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. IN THE MEANTIME I'VE HEARD DEATHS HAVE BEEN REPORTED DUE TO THIS DEFECT AND IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE VW IS MOVING FAST ENOUGH TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. SO, AS OF THIS CORRESPONDENCE I'M STILL TAKING A CHANCE EVERYDAY AND RISKING DEATH, EVEN IF I GET INTO A MINOR FENDER BENDER THAT CAUSES THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY.
