Service Engine Soon light came on while driving. Code P0327 - Knock Sensor 1, Circuit Low Input (Bank 1) shown on code reader. Took vehicle to local service station and had both knock sensors and wiring harness replaced. Mechanic said that the rear knock sensor was corroded due to water getting to the sensor. Drove vehicle for about 2 weeks and service engine light came back on. Took vehicle back to service station where knock sensors were replaced again. Mechanic again stated that the rear sensor was corroded due to water getting to the sensor. Drove vehicle for about 1 week and the Service Engine light has come back on for the third time with the same P0327 code showing.
MY 2006 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 EXTENDED CAB HAS JUST OVER 116000 MILES ON IT AND THERE IS A LOUD KNOCKING COMING FROM THE #2 LIFTER. IT ONLY DOES IT WHEN IT GETS WARM OR GIVEN GAS ON TAKE OFF.. IT DOESN'T DO IT WHEN IDLING. I KNOW 2 OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL TRUCK WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I LOVE MY TRUCK AND I TAKE EXTREMELY GOOD CARE OF IT BUT TO HAVE IT FIXED, MY MECHANIC SAID A NEW ENGINE IS BETTER AND CHEAPER THAN REBUILDING IT. TOTAL COST OF $6000 . AND THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LEAKS INSIDE THE TRUCK WHEN IT RAINS , BETWEEN THE FRONT AND REAR DOOR. THERE SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT CHEVROLET CAN DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE IS BURNING MORE OIL THAN NORMAL. I PURCHASED THE PICKUP ON AUG 10, 2016 AND THE DAY PRIOR THE DEALERSHIP HAD JUST DONE A FRESH OIL CHANGE. I DOUBLE CHECKED THE NEW OIL BEFORE DRIVING FROM THE LOT AND SEEN THE OIL WAS NEW AND FRESH. A MONTH AND A HALF LATER MY HUSBAND IS DRIVING HOME FROM CAPE MAY NEW JERSEY WHICH IS A 6 HOUR DRIVE AND JUST AFTER FILLING UP HIS GAS TANK AND DRIVING HOME...THE VEHICLE STARTS SMOKING PROFUSELY. HE HAD TO ADD 5 QUARTS OF OIL TO THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT LOOKED AS THOUGH THE OIL WAS COMPLETELY DRAINED FROM THE ENGINE.
GM MAD A FAULTY BOLT DESIGN AND NO ONE IS HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE. I HAVE 3 BROKEN MANIFOLD BOLTS AND THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $2100 TO REPAIR. THERE ARE THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF OTHERS JUST LIKE ME WHO ARE HELPLESS. WHY ARE YOU AND THE EPA DOING NOTHING? THE VEHICLE CAN'T PASS EMISSIONS LIKE THIS!
NOTICED A PECULIAR EXHAUST NOTE SOMEWHAT LIKE A TICK THAT WAS REMINESCENT OF AN EXHAUST LEAK. TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL MUFFLER EXHAUST SHOP AND THEY INFORM ME IT IS A MANIFOLD EXHAUST LEAK DUE TO BROKEN BOLT(S) ON THE DRIVER SIDE. WAS ABLE TO LOOK FOR MYSELF AND I SEE ONE BOLT HEAD MISSING IN THE VERY BACK NEAR THE FIREWALL. *TR

THE LINE RUNNING FROM THE TRANSMISSION TO THE RADIATOR IS EXTREMELY PRONE TO LEAKING DUE TO A WEAK/IMPROPER CRIMP IN THE HOSE. AS TIME GOES ON TRANSMISSION FLUID IS DEPLETED AND COULD LEAD TO TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE LEAK IS WIDESPREAD ACROSS MOST ALLISON TRANSMISSIONS DUE TO A FAULTY HOSE CRIMP AND LEAKS THROUGH THE CRIMP IN THE HOSE. *TR

THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FORWARD MOST AND REAR MOST EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS WERE BROKEN OFF INSIDE THE ENGINE BLOCK ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE ENGINE, THIS ALLOWS EXHAUST GAS TO ESCAPE WHEN COLD AND ACCOUNTS FOR EXHAUST SMELL IN THE CABIN. HAVE SINCE REPLACED THE ROTORS AGAIN AND NOW MY BRAKE LINE BURST OPEN AS I WAS DRIVING HOME. ENTIRE UNDERCARRIAGE IS RUSTED (FRAME IS PEELING UP IN LAYERS), THERE IS RUST COMING THROUGH THE BUMPERS, ON THE WHEELS, IN THE BED, INSIDE THE DRIVER'S DOOR - BASICALLY EVERYWHERE I LOOK (I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CHEVROLET IN 2010 ABOUT THE EXCESSIVE RUSTING AND WAS TOLD, AFTER INSPECTION BY LOCAL DEALER, THAT THERE WAS "NO ABNORMAL RUSTING FOUND"). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THREE OF THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS WERE FRACTURED, CAUSING A LEAK THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED . THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
BOLT HEAD IS SNAPPED OFF ON THE LEFT EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON THE REAR MOST BOLT. I KNOW OF MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM AND I BELIEVE THAT THEIR SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THE DEFECTIVE BOLTS USED IN THESE VEHICLES. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK DOWN THE FREEWAY, THE ENGINE LIGHT SUDDENLY CAME ON AND A WARNING APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD STATING "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" AND THE TRUCK SHUT ITSELF DOWN TO 10 MILES AN HOUR IN SECONDS. I HAD VEHICLES COMING UP BEHIND ME TRAVELING AT 60 MPH AND HIGHER THAT NEARLY HIT ME FROM BEHIND. EVEN IF I FLOORED THE GAS PEDAL THE TRUCK WOULD NOT SPEED UP MAKING IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP HAD MY TRUCK 2 DAYS AND CHARGED ME $400.00 FOR AN EMISSIONS PART. I PICKED MY TRUCK UP ON THURSDAY EVENING, JAN. 20, 2011, AND IT BROKEN DOWN THE VERY NEXT MORNING WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I TOOK IT RIGHT BACK OVER THERE AND THEY TOLD ME TO RETURN IT ON MONDAY JAN. 24 WHICH I DID. THEY RETURNED THE TRUCK TO ME ON WEDS. JAN. 26, AND SAID THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM BUT MAY HAVE BEEN A LOOSE WIRE. THE TRUCK BROKE DOWN WITH THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN ON FEB 14. THE DEALERSHIP HAD IT ANOTHER 3 DAYS AND SAID THEY SOLDERED SOME CONNECTIONS. AGAIN ON MARCH 10, MY TRUCK BROKE DOWN AGAIN, SAME ISSUE. THEY HAD MY TRUCK UNTIL MARCH 14, AND AGAIN CHARGED ME FOR REPLACING THE WIRING HARNESS AND THROTTLE BODY. I PICKED MY TRUCK UP AT 6 PM MON MARCH 14 AND IT ALREADY BROKE DOWN AGAIN THIS MORNING MARCH 16, SAME ISSUE. ON TWO OCCASIONS NOW I HAVE HAD MY KIDS IN THE BACK SEAT, DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE ENGINE DECIDES TO SHUT ITSELF DOWN. NO ONE AT CHEVY SEEMS TO CARE IF WE ARE INJURED OR KILLED WHEN WE ARE HIT DUE TO THIS DEFECTIVE TRUCK. I AM NOT THE ONLY CHEVY OWNER REPORTING THIS PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM IS ON 80 TO 90 PERCENT OF THE TRUCKS WITH IN THEM YEARS THIS IS MILLIONS OF VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. THESE VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED BY GENERAL MOTORS DUE TO EPA LAWS AND EMISSION STANDARDS NOT BEING ABLE TO BE PASSED WHEN THESE BOLTS BREAK. *TR

I HAVE DRIVEN THE TRUCK FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY AND TOOK VERY GOOD CARE AND HAD REGULAR OIL CHANGES PERFORMED. I AM NOW FACING A MOTOR REBUILD. THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING SOME KNOCKING/CRUNCHING SOUNDS FROM THE LOW END AND I'M TOLD THE CAMSHAFT, BEARINGS,OIL PUMP, SEALS, GASKETS, ETC HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $3,500. I HAVE CALLED THE CHEVROLET CONSUMER NUMBER I FOUND FOR THEIR CORP OFFICE IN DETROIT AND AM TOLD BY CHEVROLET THAT THIS PARTICULAR TRUCK ONLY HAD A 3 YR/36,000 MILE WARRANTY.SO I AM LEFT PAYING THESE REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET ON A TRUCK LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD WITH LESS THAN 60,000 MILES. I CERTAINLY FEEL RIPPED OFF AFTER FINANCING THE TRUCK FOR A PERIOD OF 5 YEARS. I HAVE NO CHOICE EXCEPT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS SINCE IT WOULD HAVE NO TRADE IN VALUE IN THE CONDITION IT IS IN. *TR
