ENGINE STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING. PULLED CODES AND FOUND U0109 FUEL PUMP MODULE COMMUNICATION. THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL BUT MY VEHICLE VIN DOES NOT APPLY. ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES WITH THE PLACEMENT OF THIS MODULE CAUSING CORROSION INTERNALLY SHORTING PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD.
NO FUEL FROM FUEL PUMP, WAS RUNNING CUT-OFF WOULD NOT RE-START,LUCKILY I HAS JUST STOPPED FOR A SODA.

THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE FAILED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: 14515B. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000.

THERE WAS A VERY STRONG GASOLINE SMELL WITH THE VEHICLE RUNNING. WHILE LOOKING FOR THE SOURCE, I NOTICED FUEL SPRAYING OUT UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE THAT WAS LEAKING. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS A DEIGN FLAW, A DEFECT IN THE PART OR POOR WORKMANSHIP, BUT IT COULD HAVE HAD SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES IF THE FUEL HAD IGNITED, WHICH WAS POSSIBLE WITH THE PRESSURE AND VOLUME OF THE LEAK. IT WAS REPLACED WITHOUT CHARGE DUE TO IT BEING A "SAFETY FACTOR". THE TRUCK IS NOT DRIVEN IN EXTREME CONDITIONS. I HAD NOT RUN OVER ANYTHING, AND CANNOT THINK OF ANY REASON FOR THE FUEL LINE TO RUPTURE. *TR

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON 28 OCCASIONS IN WHICH THEY DID NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BUT RECOMMENDED THAT HE REPLACE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,847.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER NINE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER REPAIRED AND THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD NEVER INFORM HIM OF HIS FINDINGS AFTER EXAMINING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE HE WAS ADVISED THAT FOUR OF THE CYLINDERS HAD NO COMPRESSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 19,932.
MY FATHER WAS DRIVING A STOCK DUAL CAB CHEVY 2008 SILVERADO, NOT SURE WHAT THE STOCK TIRES FOR THIS TRUCK IS. WAS BOUGHT IN LUCEDALE, MS AT WALT MASSEY CHEVROLET. HE WAS FORCED OFF THE NORTH SIDE OF ROAD TRAVELING WEST AT APPROX. 60 MPH AND WHEN REENTERING PAVEMENT OR DURING YAWING (STILL UNCERTAIN, BUT PICTURES WERE TAKEN BY INVESTIGATORS), THE RIGHT TIRE DETACHED FROM THE AXLE WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO GO OFF OTHER SIDE OF ROAD AND HIT A LARGE OAK. THE ONSTAR SERVICES, WHICH WERE FUNCTIONING, DID NOT NOTIFY EMS OR FAMILY. THE TRUCK WAS STILL RUNNING WHEN WITNESSES WENT TO ASSIST HIM. THE VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING INSIDE THE TRUCK, WHICH MADE WITNESSES LEAVE SCENE AND THE VEHICLE BLEW UP AND NOTHING WAS LEFT TO IDENTIFY HIM OR THE VEHICLE TO NOTIFY FAMILY OF HIS WHEREABOUTS. *TR
