Started out by sometimes not going into PARK, but now, Transmission will NOT go into PARK. This is hilly country, and I am concerned that the vehicle could roll away, although the parking brake has worked so far. When I park in my driveway, the rear (parking) brakes groan and slip just a little. So far, nobody has been killed.

THE MANUFACTURE WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE ON 11/09/2016 AND ON 1/22/2017 THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WITH NO INDICATOR LIGHT ON. TRANSMISSION MASTERS STATED THERE IS WATER IN THE TRANSMISSION DUE TO A FAULTY RADIATOR AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS BURNT.
TAKATA RECALL BEEN WAITING YEAR &HAFT FOR REPAIR DEALER SAID THEY ARE WAITING FOR PARTS TO COME IN FOR YEAR &HAFT. TAKING TO LONG
On multiple occasions, while driving, my truck suddenly locked/unlocked/locked/unlocked doors, airflow changed from a/c to heat, Stabiltrak disengaged, Parking assist shut off, Traction Control turned off, lights shut off, engine stalled, and was unresponsive.

DESIGN FAILURE OF TRANSMISSION COOLING LINES. SET OF THREE COOLING LINES FAILING AT CRIMPED JOINT BETWEEN SOLID LINE AND FLEXIBLE LINE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON FAILURE DUE TO DESIGN, LOW TO MEDIUM PRESSURE LINES BEING USED IN A HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM. FAILURE DURING OPERATION COULD RESULT IN SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER OR ENGINE BRAKING WHICH MAY RESULT IN VEHICLE CONTROL DIFFICULTIES ESPECIALLY ON SLIPPERY ROADS. THE FAILURE OCCURRED OVER A FOUR MONTH PERIOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK BUT A REMEDY COULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,000.
I STOPPED AT A STORE ON MY WAY HOME LAST NIGHT AND WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE TRUCK AND STARTED IT, IT MADE A NOISE LIKE IT WOULD IF YOU TURNED THE KEY AND THE ENGINE WAS ALREADY RUNNING. I HAD THE SAME RESPONSE FROM STARTING IT THIS MORNING AFTER IT SAT IN MY GARAGE ALL NIGHT. THE TRUCK HAS ONLY 56,000 MILES ON IT AND GETS REGULAR MAINTENANCE...I'D HATE TO THINK I'VE GOT TO REPLACE THE STARTER ALREADY. IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS I'VE HAD TO DEAL WITH THE "CHECK ENGINE / GAS CAP" THING AND REPLACED THE IMPACT SENSOR FOR THE AIR BAG. EVERY WEEK I GET CLOSER TO TRADING IN FOR A NEW FORD. *TR
I REVERSED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY INTO A TWO LANE ROAD. I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO A GM DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THE SPRAG CLUTCH FAILED AND SENT METAL PIECES THROUGH THE REST OF THE TRANSMISSION TO THE POINT THAT IT WAS UNREPAIRABLE. THEY PUT A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION IN. THEN THEY DISCOVERED THE TRUCK WOULD STILL NOT MOVE. THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL WAS LOCKED UP TOO AND NEEDED TO BE COMPLETELY REBUILT. I ENDED UP PAYING $4,765.89 TO REPAIR A 2008 TRUCK WITH 89,437 MILES ON IT. *TR

MY TRUCK STAYED PARKED FOR 10 DAYS WHILE ON VACATION. IT WAS RUNNING FINE WHEN I PARKED IT. UPON RETURNING FROM VACATION I TRIED TO START IT AND NOTHING! IT WONT EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER. WAS AT A RED LIGHT WHEN VEHICLE CAME TO NO FUNCTION. STABILITRAK / TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT KEPT COMING ON AND OFF FOR MONTHS. TRUCK LOST DRIVING ABILITY AND LIGHTS BECAME COMING ON. LOST BRAKES, TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH STABILITRAK, AND TRACTION LIGHT. VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION AND DID NOT HAVE ABILITY OF POWER. SOUNDED LIKE SPARK PLUGS MISS FIRING. BRAKES BECAME DISABLED AND WHERE GRINDING. (NEW BRAKES) HAD TO PUSH MY TRUCK OFF ROAD AS IT HAD NO PRESSURE TO DRIVE. MECHANICS THINK IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR. WILL SEE. *TR
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LINES 2008 CHEVY SILVERADO WITH ALLISON TRANSMISSION. FACTORY TRANSMISSION LINES LEAK AND MUST BE REPLACED. WHEN THE WEATHER TURNS COLD, THE LINES/CRIMPS HOLDING THE RUBBER HOSE TO THE PIPES FAIL AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID IS LOST, SOMETIMES IN CATASTROPHIC MANNER, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOOSE PROPULSION. REPORTS OF FAILURE ARE EXTREMELY COMMON, AND IT IS NOT UNUSUAL, THAT THE LINES MAY HAVE BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES WITHIN THE 1ST 50,000 MILES. GM HAS ISSUED 'NEW, UPDATED' PARTS, BUT THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL PARTS. THE NEW PART NUMBERS ARE 20759971, 20759972, 20759973. WILE REPAIR IS COVERED ON THE 36K BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, THERE IS NO COVERAGE ON THE 100K WARRANTY. GM SHOULD REPLACE THE LINES FREE OF CHARGE FOR THE 1ST 100K MILES WITH A HOSE THAT WILL NOT FAIL. CONSUMERS CAN TAKE THE ORIGINAL GM LINE TO A HYDRAULIC SHOP, HAVE THE RUBBER PORTION OF THE LINES REPLACED WITH STANDARD HYDRAULIC HOSE SUITABLE FOR ATF FLUID AND THERE ARE NO FURTHER FAILURES. IF CONSUMERS CAN FIX THE LINES, PERHAPS GM CAN FIND A SOLUTION. *TR
WHILE TOWING A 5TH WHEEL TRAILER IN 98 DEGREE HEAT, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO REDUCED POWER MODE. THE VEHICLE TURBO WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE PROBLEMS WITH THE VARIABLE VANES LOCKING IN POSITION. I BELIEVE THIS IS A KNOWN CONDITION WITH THE DURAMAX LMM ENGINE. ON THE OPEN HIGHWAY PULLING A TRAILER THIS CREATES A HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER AND OTHER TRAFFIC AS THE SUDDEN LOSS OF SPEED IS UNEXPECTED. WARRANTY WAS DENIED ALTHOUGH THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN REGARDING SIMILAR SYMPTOMS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION LINES WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED DUE TO CORROSION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.

APPEARS TO BE LEAKING FROM CRIMP AREA ON BOTH LINES. INDEPENDENT TRANSMISSION SHOP ADVISED STOCK (GM) COOLER LINES CANNOT HANDLE THE PRESSURE OF THE ALLISON TRANSMISSION.
