WHILE DRIVING THE LEFT DRIVER SIDE TIRE HAS A SCREECHING SOUND AND I HAVE TO TURN STEERING WHEEL SLOWLY TO MAKE GO AWAY FOR SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME..THE BREAKS ARE FINE AND THE TRUCK IS IN GREAT AND ONLY HAPPENS ONCE I GET UP SPEED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 EQUIPPED WITH 20 INCH WHEELS. TO CONTACT STATED THAT THE WHEELS WERE CONSTRUCTED USING THREE SEPARATE SECTIONS AND THE OUTER SECTION OF THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL HAD SEPARATED FROM THE WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CUTTSHAW CHEVROLET LOCATED IN CRAPELAND, TX WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
SILVERADO K1500 FRONT WHEEL BEARING WENT BAD COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF A PERSON DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE. IT WAS DETECTED WHILE BEING DRIVEN.THE DATE OF REPAIR 8/26/20016
TIRE TREAD IS DETERIORATING, CHUNKS OF TREAD IS FLAKING AND FALLING OFF TIRE. FOUND A SECTION OF TREAD ON SECOND AND THIRD LINE OF TREAD THAT IS STARTING TO SEPARATE FROM TIRE. TRUCK HAS BARELY 10,000 MILES ON ORIGINAL TIRES WITH VERY GOOD TREAD, TRUCK HAS AIR PRESSURE MONITOR AND IS CHECKED REGULARLY. TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE. FIRESTONE TIRE P245/70R17 108S M+ S DESTINATION LE FOR YOUR INFORMATION WHILE DRIVING THE INSIDE LANE OF I-20 HERE IN ALABAMA AUGUST 23, 2014 AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 65 MILES AN HOUR WHEN MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE BLEW. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND GET OFF THE INTERSTATE. THE TIRE BLEW OUT JUST BELOW THE THREAD, OUTSIDE WALL. HOLE IS APPROXIMATELY THE SIZES OF A TWENTY FIVE CENT PIECE. I HAD AN EXPERIENCE TIRE PROFESSIONAL LOOK AT THE TIRE; HE SAID THAT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE BECAUSE OF THE WAY IT BLEW. THE OTHER THREE TIRES ON THIS VEHICLE ARE FIRESTONES IDENTICAL TO THIS ONE. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF DRIVING THE AUTO WITH THESE TIRES? THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE SIDEWALL PEELED APART ON CHEVY 2008 SILVERADO WITH AMERITRAC TIRES 245/70R17 WITH ONLY 10,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. WHEN I TOOK THE TIRE TO THE DEALER, SINCE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER WARRANTY THEY CLAIMED IT WAS DUE TO A PUNCTURE IN THE TIRE. THEY ALSO SAID IT WAS FROM A PIECE OF SCREW DRIVER THAT WAS PLANET IN THE VEHICLE. THE PIECE OF SCREW DRIVER WASN'T THERE UNTIL THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, SO NOT ONLY DIDN'T THEY FIX THE CAR THEY DAMAGED IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHEN THE CONTACT WENT TO CHANGE HIS LICENSE PLATE, HE NOTICED THAT THE SPARE TIRE WAS A DIFFERENT SIZE THAN THE REST OF THE TIRES. HE CONSULTED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY RECEIVED OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ISSUE, BUT COULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE SPARE WAS A TEMPORARY ONE AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE SPARE WAS A GOODYEAR WRANGLER HP TIRE, SIZE 265/70/17. THE OTHER TIRES WERE BRIDGESTONE, SIZE 265/65/18. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,465 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,400. UPDATED 05/06/09. *LJ UPDATED 05/07/09.*JB
RIGHT FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT, WHEN WE WENT TO HAVE THEM REPLACED WE NOTICED A BUMP IN ALL FOUR TIRES, UPON CALLING GENERAL WE WERE TOLD TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO SEARS (AUTHORIZED DEALER) TO LOOK OVER THE TIRES, SEARS CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A BELT SEPARATION IN ALL FOUR TIRES. WE WERE TOLD BY GENERAL TIRES THEY WOULD GIVE US A 60% REPLACEMENT ON ONE TIRE. WE THEN CALLED GENERAL MOTORS TO REPORT THE PROBLEM THEY TOLD US WE NEEDED TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED. AFTER LEAVING THE TRUCK ALL DAY THE SERVICE MANAGER REPORTED THAT THE REPLACED TIRE WAS NOT AN ORIGINAL TIRE (IT WAS THE ONE WE HAD FIXED DUE TO BLOW OUT) AND THAT IT SHOULD NOT BE WARRANTED. AT THIS TIME NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX ANY OF THE TIRES. WE WERE TOLD BY A REPRESENTATIVE AT GENERAL MOTORS THAT THERE WERE OTHER REPORTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THESE TIRES. A SECOND REPRESENTATIVE DENIED THAT OTHER PROBLEMS HAS BEEN REPORTED. THERE IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT IN ALL FOUR TIRES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE FELL OFF AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SWERVE AND FLIP THREE TIMES. THE DRIVER INJURED HIS UPPER BODY AND THE PASSENGER'S HEAD WAS INJURED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 3,250.
