Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado LD Crew with General Grabber RST/LT-T1. Tire Size: 255/70R17. DOT Number: A3E8hn002320. The contact stated that while spouse was driving approximately 30 mph they heard a stranger noise and noticed that rear passenger tire had split. The tire was remove and replaced with the spare the contact then stated that a week later contact's husband was driving around 50 mph and abnormal sound was heard again and that is when they noticed that the rear driver side had a blowout. Triple A was contacted and vehicle was towed to their home. The contact stated that they contacted tire manufacturer General and tire manufacturer stated that they would need to contact the dealer, dealer stated that the tires were bad and that General would not assist on replacing the tires. Contact stated tires are original tires of vehicle. Vehicle and tire failure damage was about 40,000.
On August 17,2025 I was driving on the freeway when I heard a loud bang and I thought my tire blew but it also felt like I hit something, however I pulled over and tires were ok. I proceeded to go again and this time if can feel my rear tire lock up and then let go. I pulled into a parking lot and my tires had some strips on them as if they where dragged.

I had just left RV Park in Kingman, AZ. I had cruise control set at 59MPH when My truck began a violent shacking and a lot of banging. I pulled over on the shoulder of I-40, Got out to find tread had come off of the tire and was now wedge between brake backing plate and leaf spring. It had not lost air. Just tread came off. When tow truck driver showed up several hours later, tire was still holding air. He jacked up the axle, but deflated tire before he would remove it from truck and put on my spare. I always check my tires when I leave rv parks or after stopping at rest stops. Saw nothing wrong with tire or air pressure that morning. I had only been driving 45 Minutes, outside temp was low 80's.
Bought this vehicle 4 months ago first month the tire loosing air went on a trip park in a garage left it there for the week end came out passenger front tire was flat put spare on notice crack on inside of the rim...2 month later took another trio on the way home tire was loosing air change out again Crack on inside of rim driver rear different one then first time
275/60r20 Rear Passenger side exploded, damaging my rim. Less than 20k miles on truck.
