THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD CONSTANT BRAKING ISSUES. FROM CONTINUAL ROTOR REPLACEMENTS TO REGULAR PAD REPLACEMENTS. THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS NEVER BEEN CONSTANT WITH REGARD TO PRESSURE AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN"SOFT" WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE LAST 25 FEET OR SO THERE IS A VIBRATION, HUM, AND WHEN FINALLY STOPPED, THE PEDAL SINKS ANOTHER 1/2 INCH OR SO LIKE IT SIGHS OF RELIEF. THIS MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO JUDGE APPROPRIATE BRAKING DISTANCES AND LACKS CONFIDENCE IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. WE TOOK IT TO GROSSMAN CHEVROLET WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED IN OLD SAYBROOK CT. WE WERE TOLD THERES NOTHING WRONG AND OUR DRIVING STYLE IS TO BLAME.THAT WE WERE BRAKING TOO HARD AND CAUSING THE ROTORS TO WARP. THERE IS A FAULT IN THE ABS SENSOR SYSTEM AND GM HAS DONE NOTHING TO ASSIST OWNERS. IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE. THIS MUST BE RECALLED OR REPAIRED AT GM EXPENSE. I WILL NOT PAY A STEALERSHIP ANY MORE MONEY TO FIX AN ISSUE THAT IS AN ENGINEERING FAULT.
THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM IN MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER LS AT TIMES DOES NOT WORK. WHEN I APPLY MY BRAKE THE BRAKE MAKES A NOISE SOUNDING LIKE GRINDING, NOT CATCHING OR HOLDING, SLIPS AND GOES TO THE FLOOR. I HAVE TO RAPIDLY ACT WITH SWIFTNESS WITHIN A SHORT TIME TO REAPPLY MY BRAKES IN HOPES THEY WORK. THE BRAKES SOMETIMES FAIL ON BUMPY ROADS, GOING OVER RAILROAD TRACKS, COMING TO A STOP AT LOW SPEED, EVEN ON SMOOTH ROADWAYS, AT TIMES ENTERING ON-RAMPS, AND TURNING CORNERS. I HAVE BEEN GOING OVER GM'S EXPANDED RECALLS TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH TRUCK AND SUV'S BRAKES THE DATE I SAW WAS 12/23/2005. CAN I GET HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM???

NOTE: THIS IS THE SECOND CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE FOR THIS VEHICLE ON SEPTEMBER 204 , 2012, WHILE ON A TRIP FROM HOUSTON TX TO WINONA MN, I WAS DRIVING DOWN A RANCH ROAD AND CAME TO A STOP TO LET A PASSENGER GET OUT AND OPEN A GATE. I DROVE THROUGH THE OPEN GATE AND PUT THE TRAILBLAZER IN PARK WHILE WAITING FOR THE GATE TO BE CLOSED AND THE PASSENGER TO GET BACK IN THE VEHICLE. I THEN WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES IN ORDER TO MOVE THE TRANSMISSION FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND, ONCE AGAIN, THE BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED CATASTROPHICALLY, AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. A MECHANIC WAS CALLED OUT AND, HE TOO PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL, WHICH HIT THE FLOOR WITH NO RESISTANCE OF ANY KIND. THERE WERE THREE EYEWITNESSES TO THIS CATASTROPHIC FAILURE. THIS MECHANIC REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND FOUND OUT THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY 05 TRAILBLAZER OWNER WHO HAS SUFFERED THROUGH CATASTROPHIC BRAKE FAILURE EVENTS. I WAS STOPPED FOR MY TAIL LIGHT BEING OUT. THE NEXT DAY, I REPLACED ALL OF THE FUSES IN THE REAR OF MY TRAILBLAZER. EVERYTHING SEEMED TO WORK, BUT THEN TWO WEEKS LATER I WAS STOPPED AGAIN FOR MY TAIL LIGHTS NOT WORKING. I REPLACED ALL THE FUSES, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ON ONE SIDE (PASSENGER SIDE) THEN CHECKED THE CIRCUIT BOARD, STILL THE TOP TAIL LIGHT WILL NOT WORK. FOUND OUT THAT IT DOES NOT WORK, WHEN HEAD LIGHTS ARE ON..THAT IS WHY I WAS GETTING PULLED OVER AT NIGHT. ONLY ONE TAIL LIGHT IS NOT WORKING AND I CAN NOT DRIVE AT NIGHT BECAUSE I KEEP GETTING PULLED OVER BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT. IT COMES OUT OF THE BLUE. I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY RIGHT BLINKER SOMETIMES BLINKS REALLY FAST. ALSO, OVER THE PAST MONTH I HAVE EXPERIENCED A TOTAL POWER FAILURE IN MY TRAILBLAZER. ON 04/06 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 05 TRAILBLAZER THAT WE HAVE HAD ABOUT A YEAR AND THE DEALER ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, AND NOW THE BRAKES JUST WENT COMPLETELY OUT WITHOUT WARNING. IT CAUSED HER TO REAR END ANOTHER VEHICLE LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT. THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM REFUSES TO WORK WITH US THEY TOLD US THEY ALREADY PUT THE NEW ENGINE IN IT AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO DO IT. IF THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO DO IT THEN WHY DID THEY KEEP IT 2 MONTHS RIGHT AFTER WE BOUGHT IT? I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC NEAR WHERE WE LIVE AND HE REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER FOR THE BRAKES AND THEY WORK FINE NOW. THE DEALER SAID THAT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY 75 DOLLARS FOR THEM TO TELL US WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. THIS IS THE WORST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED. AS SOON AS YOU FIX SOMETHING, SOMETHING ELSE MAJOR GOES WRONG WITH IT. YOU NAME IT AND I HAVE PROBABLY HAD IT WORKED ON IN THIS VEHICLE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND TRIED TO WORK WITH THEM AND JUST REPLACE THE VEHICLE WITH ONE I COULD PUT MY WIFE AND KIDS IN WITHOUT WORRY IF SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING TO GO WRONG WITH IT AND SOMEONE GETS REALLY HURT OR KILLED. I JUST NEED HELP TRADING THIS VEHICLE IN SO I CAN GET A RELIABLE FORM OF TRANSPORTATION FOR MY FAMILY. 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER'S HEADLIGHTS FLICKERED ON AND OFF. **CC SOMETIMES THE FLICKERING LAST FOR A FEW SECONDS OTHER TIMES IT HAS LASTED UP TO 10 MIN. THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT STATED THERE WAS A TSB FROM CHEVROLET WHICH STATED THE FLICKERING WAS NORMAL. THEREFORE THERE WERE NO REPAIRS ATTEMPTED. THE BRAKES PULSATED DUE TO RUST ON THE ROTORS. *NM
BRAKES SQUEAL ON NORMAL BRAKING. BACK TIRES SPIN ON DRY ROAD AND SQUEAL LIKE SOMEONE IS "PEELING OUT". BRAKES SEEM TO RIDE LOW TO THE FLOOR AND BARELY STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN HAVING TO STOP QUICKLY. BESIDES THAT, THEY MAKE THE TRUCK KEEP ON ROLLING EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKES ARE BEING APPLIED . IT'S LIKE THE COMPUTER IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM DETECTS NOTHING WHEN YOU TRY TO STOP, I'VE HAD SOME VERY NEAR MISSES AS FAR AS ACCIDENTS ARE CONCERNED. ON SEPTEMBER 28TH 2006 I WAS DRIVING MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER EXT DOWN THE ROAD BETWEEN 55 AND 60 MPH. IT HAD STARTED RAINING ABOUT 5 MINUTES EARLIER. I STARTED UP THE HILL AND WAS APPROACHING THE OTHER ROAD I NEEDED TO TURN ON AND GENTLY APPLIED THE BRAKES. AS SOON AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES, THE VEHICLE WENT OUT OF CONTROL. I TRIED TO PUMP THE BRAKES AND GET THE VEHICLE BACK INTO CONTROL BUT HAD NO LUCK. I THEN CROSSED THE CENTER LINE AND CRASHED HEAD ON INTO THE GUARD RAIL ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER I HIT THE GUARD RAIL I BOUNCED OFF OF THAT AND HIT AN ON COMING VEHICLE IN THE PASSENGER SIDE WITH THE FRONT END OF MY CAR. I THEN PROCEEDED TO CONTINUE BACK TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD AND JUMP A 4FT DITCH AND FINALLY CAME TO A STOP ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DITCH. THE FUNNY THING IS THAT THIS ALL HAPPENED WHILE I WAS TRAVELING UP HILL!!! I TRULY BELIEVE THE SO CALLED FOUR WHEEL ANTI-LOCK BRAKES FAILED. THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED EITHER! AFTER THE CRASH THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE HAD A HUGE HOLE IN THE SIDE WALL AND I AM NOT TOO SURE THAT THIS WASN'T PART OF THE PROBLEM. THE TORN PART OF THE TIRE IS STICKING OUT AND SEEMS LIKE IT FAILED TOO. I JUST WISH I COULD GET SOMEONE TO INVESTIGATE THIS (GOODYEAR TIRES). *NM
