SPEEDOMETER FIRST SHOWED SPEED OF 60 WHEN SITTING STILL. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, RESTARTING IT 3 TIMES AND THE SPEEDOMETER RESET. BUT A FEW DAYS LATER IT ONCE AGAIN STUCK AND I HAD JUST STARTED IT. THIS TIME AT 48 AT ALL TIMES WHETHER THE ENGINE IS ON OR OFF, IDLING OF TRAVELING. IT CONTINUES TO BE STUCK AT 48 AT ALL TIMES, NEVER DECREASING OR INCREASING.

CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE. REVS UP REALLY HIGH WITHOUT ACCELERATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT 370. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
THE SPEEDOMETER HAS BECOME UNRELIABLE; IT STICKS / JERKS WHILE DRIVING AFTER WHICH IT DOES NOT DISPLAY AN ACCURATE SPEED. I'VE HAD MY SPEEDOMETER READ 30MPH WHILE COMPLETELY STOPPED. IT HAS A GREATER TENDENCY TO STICK AROUND 50-60MPH. REPEATEDLY STARTING THE ENGINE, CAUSING THE SPEEDOMETER TO GO THROUGH ITS RESET CYCLE WILL MOVE THE NEEDLE BACK TO 0MPH IN APPROXIMATELY 5MPH INCREMENTS FOR EVERY START. THIS ONLY PROVIDES A BIT OF RELIABILITY FOR SHORT TRIPS.
THE SPEEDOMETER DOESNT WORK.
THE SPEEDOMETER GETS STUCK ON A SPEED AND THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT BACK DOWN TO 0 IS BY TURNING THE ENGINE ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS. FROM MY RESEARCH ON THIS IT APPEARS THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY MANY PEOPLE BUT NOTHING GETS DONE ABOUT IT. IT SEEMS TO ME LIKE IT SHOULD BE A RECALL TO GET IT FIXED.
THE SPEEDOMETER IN MY CAR STARTED NOT WORKING A WEEK AGO.. IT WOULD SAY I WAS GOING 70 AND IN REALITY I WAS ONLY GOING 55. DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY TO THE SHORE MY SPEEDOMETER INCREASED TO 95 MPH. WHEN WE PARKED IT WAS STUCK ON 10. SINCE THEN IT HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES. WHEN I PARK I HAVE TO CHECK WHAT IT STOPS AT. SOMETIMES, ITS 10, 20, 30, ETC. I HAVE TRIED DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE AND THAT HELPS AS A TEMP FIX. MY DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL, BUT I SAW ONLINE A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST GM, BUT NOT FOR TRAILBLAZERS. THIS IS A GM ISSUE AND I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO GET IT FIXED. UPDATED 03/11/14
FIRST MY REAR WIPER AND REAR WASHER STOPPED WORKING BUT WHEN YOU TURN THE BUTTON IT SOUNDS LIKE IT WANTS TO GO. SECOND MY SPEEDOMETER IS ALL OVER THE BOARD. SOMETIMES IT RUNS LOW, SOMETIMES IT'S HIGHER AND AT TIMES IT JUST WON'T MOVE. IT HAS ALSO BEEN OFF THE BOARD POINTER DOWN AT THE PRND321. THIRD MY OIL GAUGE STOPPED WORKING.

MY 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER SPEEDOMETER QUIT WORKING. ON MARCH 19, 2011, WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT I LOOKED DOWN AT THE SPEEDOMETER AND IT WAS READING 80 MPH STANDING STILL. THE SPEEDOMETER READS 120+ WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW FAST I AM GOING, I JUST KEEP UP WITH THE TRAFFIC. THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR AND I FEEL THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. I LOOKED ON THE WEB TO SEE HOW I COULD REPAIR THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT OWN CHEVY TRAILBLAZERS WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR VEHICLE WITH OUR TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR. SHE WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET WHEN THE SPEEDOMETER OF OUR VEHICLE FAULTED. IT STARTED SHOWING SHE WAS GOING 110 THEN 20MPH THEN 50MPH AND SO ON AND SO ON. SHE PULLED OVER, PHONED ME AND WE CALLED OUR INSURANCE COMPANY TO SEE IF TOWING COULD BE PROVIDED. IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN OVER 2HRS FOR TOWING ASSISTANCE SO SHE TRAVELED THE REST OF THE TRIP (APPROX 105MILES) FOLLOWING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN HOPES THAT THEY WERE TRAVELING AT A SAFE SPEED. THE FOLLOWING DAY I RESEARCH THIS ISSUE, BROUGTH MY VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY EXPLAINED IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH A 05 TRAILBLAZER AND THE GM HAD A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT FOR REPLACEMENT OF THIS PART THEY STATE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, WE LATER FOUND OUT THAT OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THIS LITIGATION AND WE WERE STUCK PAYING THE BILL. NOT ONLY DOES GM KNOW THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, THEY ARE UNWILLING TO COMPENSATE OR TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM VERY UPSET AND FRUSTRATED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND THE FACT THE GM HAS NOT OFFERED ANY REMORSE. *TR
BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED IN OCT 2010. NOT LONG THEREAFTER, NOTICED THE SPEEDOMETER WOULDN'T WORK ALL THE TIME - NORMALLY IT WORKS WHEN I FIRST START DRIVING BUT WHEN THE VEHICLE WARMS UP, IT STOPS WORKING ALL TOGETHER. I THINK IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING. THE CRUISE CONTROL ALSO DOESN'T WORK ONCE IN A WHILE. THE SPEEDOMETER NO LONGER WORKS ON MY 2005 TRAILBLAZER. IT HAS 61K MILES ON IT. CHEVROLET HAS RECALLED THE AVALANCHE, SILVERADO, TAHOE, AND SUBURBAN, BUT FOR SOME REASON NOT THE TRAILBLAZER. THE DEALER CHARGES $600 TO FIX IT. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. *TR
SPEEDOMETER ON 2005 TRAILBLAZER IS MISLEADING. YOU CAN BE DOING 70MPH AND IT WILL ONLY REGISTER 50 MPH. SOMETIMES YOU CAN BE DOING 20 MPH AND IT WILL REGISTER 120 MPH. BUT 80% OF THE TIME THE SPEEDOMETER IS CORRECT (I THINK). THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY TO NEW DRIVERS (MY DAUGHTER WHO JUST TURNED 16). GM IS PROVIDING MISLEADING INFORMATION TO THE DRIVER AND YOU HAVE NO INDICATION THAT IT IS INCORRECT. *TR
