STOP IT STARTS JERKING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHS HEAD WENT BAD AT 109 THOSAND MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 30 MPH AND SHUT DOWN AT A SLIGHT ELEVATION. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED TWO DAYS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD BE PICKED UP FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 173,000.
VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHEN SITTING IDLE OR WHEN CHANGING BETWEEN THE GAS AND BRAKES. I WAS HIT IN THE REAR THIS MORNING WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY NEITHER VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED. I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE A D THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF ISSUES.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
PULLED UP TO A RED LIGHT AND STOPPED. SHORTLY AFTER, COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE ENGINE JUST SHUT DOWN. NO WARNING LIGHTS HAD COME ON PRIOR TO THE ENGINE SHUTTING DOWN. JUST LOST ALL POWER INSTANTLY. I TURNED THE KEY, AS YOU WOULD TO START THE VEHICLE, AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. VERY GLAD IT DID NOT HAPPEN WHILE I WAS ON THE EXPRESSWAY OR WHILE MOVING. I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER IF IT IS AN IGNITION PROBLEM, AS THAT WHICH PLAGUES OTHER GM PRODUCTS. ALSO, I HAVE THE RADIO ON WHILE DRIVING AND ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR AND OPENING THE DOOR TO GET OUT, THE RADIO REFUSES TO STOP PLAYING (IT IS SUPPOSED TO, AND IT USED TO, CEASE OPERATING WHEN YOU OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR). I AM FORCED TO OPEN THE BACK VEHICLE DOOR TO GET IT TO STOP. I WONDER IF THIS IS A RELATED ISSUE TO THE IGNITION, AS THE IGNITION KEY MAY NOT ACTUALLY BE SHUTTING OF THE ACCESSORIES. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2005 CHEVYTRAILBLAZER IT JUST TURNED OFF WITHOUT WARNING, AS SOON AS IT DID THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND REDUCED ENGINE POWER LIGHT CAME ON(INSTRUMENT PANEL AND RADIO WERE STILL WORKING). I TRIED A FEW TIMES TO TURN IT BACK ON BUT IT FAILED TO RESTART. 15 MINUTES LATER IT RESTARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO MY WORKPLACE A FEW BLOCKS AWAY, BY THE TIME I USED MY VEHICLE AGAIN(ABOUT 3HRS LATER) BOTH ENGINE LIGHTS HAD TURNED OFF. WE TOOK OUR VEHICLE TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP TO SEE IF THEY COULD DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, THEY RECOMMENDED THAT WE TAKE IT TO A GM DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THERE WERE NUMEROUS CODES SHOWING UP ON THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE. WE TOOK IT TO A LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP IN INDIO, CA (COACHELLA VALLEY BUICK GMC). THEY TOO SAID THAT NUMEROUS CODES WERE COMING UP BUT AFTER 1 1/2 DAYS WITH OUR VEHICLE THEY STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WE TOOK IT IN TO AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND HE PERFORMED THE REPAIR THAT GMC STATED WAS NEEDED. UPON PICKING UP THE VEHICLE FROM THE REPAIR SHOP I DROVE HOME, AS I WAS PULLING INTO THE GARAGE IT TURNED OFF, A REPEAT OF THE SAME ISSUE WE WERE HAVING BEFORE REPLACING THE IGNITION SWITCH. SINCE THIS WAS ON SAT,05-03-2014 WE HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE AFTERNOON OF MON, 05/05/2014 TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WE INFORMED THEM THAT WE HAD THEIR RECOMMENDED REPAIR DONE AND THAT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO TURN OFF. THE FOLLOWING DAY THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THAT WE COULD PICK UP THE VEHICLE. ON THURS., 05/08/2014 THE VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN. 20 MINUTES LATER IT TURNED BACK ON AND HE DROVE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY THEN HAD THE VEHICLE UNTIL 05/12/2014; AGAIN THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. IT HAS CONTINUED TO REPEAT THIS SAME PROBLEM, AGAIN WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR INDICATION THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. *TR

WITHIN FIVE MINUTES, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED BUT THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
WE WERE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 94 IN NORTH DAKOTA AND WE HEARD A POP. BY THE TIME WE PULLED OVER THERE WERE FLAMES UP TO THE WINDOW ON THE DRIVERS DOOR. WE QUICKLY GOT OUT. VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LOSS. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. DATE OF ACCIDENT WAS 10/31/2014. *TR

EXHAUST MANIFOLD DEVELOPED A LEAK WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 40 BETWEEN NASHVILLE AND JACKSON TN. DRIVER AND PASSENGERS DEVELOPED HEADACHES AND DROWSINESS BEFORE LEAK WAS DISCOVERED BY SOUND DURING STOP FOR GAS. *TR
WENT FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND MY TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK HANDLE WAS RUSTED OFF (KIND OF HARD TO REMOVE IT). I CAN'T FIND ANYWHERE THAT REPLACES THEM EITHER.... *TR
I HAVE BEEN HEARING A CLICKING NOISE AND MY CAR HAD BEGUN SOUNDING LIKE A JET ENGINE TAKING OFF FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS - VERY NOISY. I TOOK IT TO PEP BOYS WHERE I WAS TOLD THAT IT IS NORMAL FOR THE TRAILBLAZER TO BEGIN MAKING THIS NOISE SHORTLY AFTER 60K MILES. I WAS TOLD THE SERPENTINE BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, TENSIONER PULLEY AND THE IDLER PULLEY. I HAD THE NEW PARTS INSTALLED. NONE OF MY WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASHBOARD SO I ASSUMED WAS WELL AS THERE WAS NO OTHER INDICATION THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. DRIVING MY CAR WITHIN 24 HOURS OF BEING FIXED, THE FAN CLUTCH SEIZED AND MY WATER PUMP BURST CAUSING CAR TO OVERHEAT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WHERE MY CAR THEN STALLED PUTTING ME AND MY CHILDREN AT RISK FOR INJURY. THE CAR ALMOST CAUGHT ON FIRE IT WAS SMOKING SEVERELY. SOMEONE HELPED ME MOVE MY CAR OUT OF THE BUSY INTERSECTION AND I CALLED MY HUSBAND AND A TOW TRUCK TO COME GET THE CAR. WHEN I GOT HOME AND LOOKED UP THE PROBLEMS AGAIN ON THE DEALER WEBSITE, I FOUND HUNDREDS OF FORUMS WHERE THE FAN CLUTCH HAS BEEN MENTIONED AND THE WATER PUMP TOO. A FAN CLUTCH ACCORDING TO THE MECHANICS I SURVEYED STATED THEY SHOULD LAST AT LEAST 100K OR MORE. THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO GM AND THEY IGNORE IT. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. ADDITIONALLY, MY SPEEDOMETER HASN'T WORKED FOR AT LEAST A YEAR AND WHEN I CALLED CHEVY THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $700 TO REPLACE IT WHEN IT IS NOT MY ISSUES. I DIDN'T CAUSE IT. STARTED SMELLING EXHAUST FUMES IN THE CABIN OF THE TRUCK. SHORTLY AFTER THIS BEGAN, THE TRUCK EXHAUST STARTED GETTING LOUDER. DEALER DIAGNOSED AS CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD. COST OVER $1,000 TO REPAIR. DEALER WOULD NOT WARRANTY. *TT
EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON THE 2005 CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER EXT WITH 4.2 ENGINE LEAKS EXHAUST FUMES INTO THE AIR AND INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE CREATING AN EMISSIONS PROBLEM AS WELL AS A HEALTH HAZARD OF DRIVER AND PASSENGERS OF THE VEHICLE BREATHING THE FUMES. REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NEAR TO NON EXISTENT SINCE THERE ARE APPARENTLY SO MANY OF THE VEHICLES WITH HIS PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT PART FOR 3 WEEKS AND NOTHING YET. HAVE BEEN TOLD BY PARTS STORES, AND DEALERSHIPS THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THEM AND THEIR DISTRIBUTION CENTERS DO NOT HAVE THEM EITHER, NEITHER DO THE ONLINE WEBSITES. THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE IN JUNK YARDS EITHER. NO OPTIONS AT THE MOMENT AND VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS CURRENT STATE INSPECTION. *TR
THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON MY ENGINE HAD CRACKED AND THE MOUNTING BOLTS HAD BROKEN CAUSING AN EXHAUST LEAK. *TR
THE BLOWER/FAN ON THE AIR CONDITIONER/HEATER STOPPED WORKING. IT FIRST BEGAN WITH #4 AND #5 ON THE FAN SELECTOR SWITCH NOT WORKING, BUT THEN IT STOPPED ALTOGETHER. AFTER DOING RESEARCH THIS BLOWER MOTOR PROBLEM IS VERY POPULAR AMONGST THESE VEHICLES. ALSO, THE FUEL GAUGE ON THE DASH HASN'T WORKED IN ABOUT 3 YEARS. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS DUE TO THE FUEL SENSOR IN THE FUEL TANK. AGAIN, THIS IS VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE WITHIN THE TRAILBLAZER COMMUNITY. I WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF $774 FOR THE BLOWER MOTOR TO BE FIXED AND $600 FOR THE FUEL GAUGE TO BE FIXED. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
MY GAS GAUGE ALWAYS READS EMPTY EVEN WHEN THE CAR IS FULL. ENGINE LIGHT ALWAYS GOES ON AND OFF BETWEEN A MATTER OF DAYS. RECENTLY MY HEAT WENT OUT IN MY CAR WE CHANGED THE RESISTOR AND FOUND OUT ONE OF THE PRONGS WERE BURNT OUT. A WEEK LATER THE HEAT WENT OUT AGAIN. LOOKED AT THE RESISTOR AND THE SAME PRONG WAS BURNT OUT!! I'M GETTING REALLY FED UP WITH THIS VEHICLE! *KB
