car stalled after filling gas tank. I was driving through an intersection and had to stop for oncoming traffic, when the car stalled and would not immediately restart, it eventually did start after several panic moments of being stuck in the intersection while the light was changing to let opposite traffic proceed. It stalled 2 more times on the way home. Both times I was slowing the car down when this occurred. I have been fearful of driving this car again since this happened. I heard there was a recall from Chrysler for lifetime replacement of gas tank due to a possible control valve shutoff float failure. My vehicle has never had the gas tank or float replaced, but it does not show up for a recall when I enter VIN. What should I do?
Car will buck/jerk at higher speeds, will also die at low speeds or idle, will fall on its face when trying full throttle, the oil light, check engine light, Limp mode will flash sometimes traction control, esp will flash most the time the 2 lights stay on Problem has been confirmed by 2 dealers. Puts my saftry at risk because engine will js die at 20mph i lose brakes and steering. Problem first appeared about the beginning of this year when my camshaft went out but wasn't showing a code for a month and a half then gave me a code since then ive had this problem Vehicle has not been inspected
While I was driving the car, the car stalled on me at a stop light, its a safety risk and could caused an accident at anytime, yes its available for inspection. Yes the problem has been reported and inspected by auto shop and dealership. No warning lights it just randomly happened while driving, while I was driving the check engine light popped up then disappeared and 2mintues later my car power was reduced and car shutoff at stoplight.
Yesterday I experienced an SUA incident and nearly lost my life. I was entering a freeway and began to accelerate my car. Suddenly I felt as if the gears kicked and the car began to accelerate on its own to max revolutions. I pressed down on the brakes to see if it would stop and there was heavy resistance. I took my foot on the break and the car began to accelerate and rev completely on its own and the engine felt as if it was going to explode. I luckily was able to jam my foot on the break and pull over to the emergency lane and eventually come to a full stop. From there I put the car in park and removed my foot from the break pedal. Again the car began to jump to full revs with the engine screaming. I turned the car off and on several times and this continued to happen. After waiting one hour I was able to start the car and drive 20 mph back to my home and I will have it towed to a repair shop shortly. If I panicked or was not strong enough to press down on the brake pedal, the car would have accelerated to full speed and I certainly would have died and likely other people would have too.
i’ve been reading about the issues regarding the lights exterior/interior-so many customer complaints about how over the past few decades problems with the interior (dash) and exterior lights blinking, dimming & “ completely going out” while of course driving-how hasn’t this major issue been addressed & recalled, this is a VERY DANGEROUS & SERIOUS PROBLEM, I am currently experiencing this while on the road at night-what can be done? Our safety is at risk!!
My vehicle has experienced ecm/ throttle body issues, lights flickering hard to drive vehicle at night because the lights aren't working properly. Transmission and motor problems. Why isn't the electrical issues on recall? I've been on several forums with hundreds of electrical issue complaints. This is not fair
I WENT TO THE GAS STATION, 2-ISH MILE DRIVE AND CAME BACK HOME. ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER WE DECIDED TO GO SEE MY MOTHER IN LAW, 34 HIGHWAY MILES AWAY. COOL, SO WE GO, EVERYTHING IS FINE, BEASTIE (THAT'S THE NAME OF MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300), IS RUNNING GOOD, MY HUSBAND AND 3YR OLD ARE JAMMIN OUT TO METALLICA, AND WE GET TO MY MOTHER IN LAWS HOUSE.. STAY A COUPLE HOURS AND DECIDED TO HEAD HOME.. SO WE SAY BYE ECT ECT.. WE GET ABOUT 9.5 MILES DOWN OUR 34 MILE RIDE HOME... AWW CRAP, THERE IS A TRACTOR ON THE ROAD, SO WE GO TO PASS HIM... OR SO WE THOUGHT... MAKE SURE COAST IS CLEAR, TURN ON BLINKER AND STEP ON THE GAS PETAL MORE FIRMLY.. OK IN THE OTHER LANE.. AND BAM!! CAR DIES IN MOTION AT 60 MPH!! MY HUSBAND JUST CASUALLY SAYS "HEY BABE, I THINK THE CAR JUST DIED" AND I LOOK LIKE "HAHA WHATEVER" AND I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT.. SO WE PULL OVER AND TRY TO GET IT STARTED, HAD MY MIL COME JUMP US.. AN HOUR LATER AND WE STILL DON'T HAVE BEASTIE STARTED.. NO CLICKING, NO NOTHING.. SO UNFORTUNATELY BEASTIE HAD TO SIT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD UNTIL THE NEXT DAY... THE NEXT DAY WE GOT HER TOWED TO MY MILS HOUSE... THAT WAS 3 DAYS AGO... AND BEASTIE STILL HASN'T STARTED UP FOR ME...
CAR REFUSES TO SEND POWER TO STARTER NO CRANK LOSS OF POWER CAN'T START VEHICLE
CAR IS LOSING POWER AND WON'T TURN OVER WHEN TRYING TO START. AFTER A FEW HOURS IT WILL START AND RUN FINE UNTIL YOU TURN IT OFF AGAIN. NEW STARTER, NEW BATTERY, NEW ATERNATOR WIRES FIXED. DEALERSHIP DOESN'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH CAR
WHILE DRIVING CAR RANDOMLEY HAS M0MENTARY LOSS OF POWER. THERE IS A BELL SOUND AND THEN THE CAR RESTARTS, BUT IT DROPS OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL AND SOMETIMES HAS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, OR OTHER DASH LIGHTS. USUALLY LIGHTS CLEAR UPON RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED FROM NOV 2019 TO PRESENT.
AUTO SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY IN TRAFFIC. WHILE IN MOTION, JUST DIED.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE ABS HUB (COMPLETE AXLE) DUE TO RUST/ROTTING. WHEN THE ABS RING RUST OR ROTS, THE ABS MODULE BECOMES CONFUSED AND ACTIVATES INTERMITTENTLY. I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND THE BRAKES LOCKED INTERMITTENTLY CAUSING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I STOPPED THINKING THAT IT WOULD RESET SOMETHING BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I HAD TO TAKE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP ONCE AGAIN AND NOW I'VE HAD TO PAY OVER $1,000 FOR THE REAR AXLES AND NOW $1,000 FOR THE FRONT. AXLES HAVE TO BE REPLACED EACH TIME. THESE RINGS SHOULD NOT SIMPLY ROT AND CAUSE A DANGEROUS SITUATION!
MY CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING. I WAIT FOR A MINUTE OR SO AND IT TURNS BACK ON AFTER RESTART IT.. INITIALLY IT WAS ONLY DOING THIS AS I WAS COMING OFF THE FREEWAY. THEN AGAIN A FEW MINUTES LATER AT THE STOP LIGHT. IT PROGRESSED TO TURNING OFF AS I WAS DRIVING AT 65 MILES ON THE FREEWAY. THIS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. LUCKILY I WAS ON THE RIGHT LANE AND THERE WERE NO CARS DIRECTLY BEHIND ME. OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED AT THE LEAST. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT. IT ALSO HAPPENED ON THE STREET WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND THE CAR TURNS OFF. IN A STRETCH OF FIVE MILES, IT HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. IT HAS BEEN THERE SINCE APRIL 3 AND THE DEALER STILL CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. THEY THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY, THEN THE SPARK PLUGS. THEY STILL HAVE IT AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF ALL AT ONCE. I IMMEDIATELY PUT EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON AND CRANK IT UP ONLY FOR IT TO DO THE SAME THING 3 OR 4 MORE TIMES BEFORE IT STARTS TO DRIVE NORMAL AS IF NOTHING EVER HAPPENED. THIS HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING DOWN THE STREET, TURNING OR WHENEVER IT FEEL LIKE CUTTING OFF.

THE CONTACT WOKE UP AND SMELLED BURNT RUBBER AND A CHEMICAL/ELECTRICAL ODOR OUTSIDE THE TRAILER HOME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FIRE MELTED THE COATING OFF OF THE TRAILER HOME. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE PRIOR TO THE CONTACT WAKING UP. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS UNDETERMINED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 188,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, WARSAW CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2777 N DETROIT ST, WARSAW, IN 46582, (574) 306-0489) REPLACED THE FUEL TANK, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER DUE TO A POTENTIAL ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION FAILURE. THE CONTACT DID NOT AUTHORIZE THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,397.

THE CONTACT IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES IN LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
MY 2006 CHRYSLER 300C 5.7L STARTING STALLING AFTER FILLING THE TANK AND HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORST. MY CAR NOW STOPS WHILE IDLE, AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, AND HAS EVEN STOP WHILE MAKING A TURN INTO TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHO HAS TRIED TO CHARGE ME LABOR TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM (THOUSANDS) BUT, ULTIMATELY CLAIM THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. AFTER RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT THEIR ARE THOUSANDS OF OWNERS WITH MY MAKE AND MODEL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I ALSO FOUND THAT CHRYSLER'S SOLUTION IS TO CHANGE THE GAS TANK, WHICH THEY CLAIM SHOULD FIX THE ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP CHANGED THE TANK UNDER THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THIS HAS NOT FIXED THE STALLING PROBLEM. AFTER DOING MORE RESEARCH I FOUND THAT CHRYSLER DID A RECALL ON THIS SAME STALLING ISSUE FOR THE PACIFICA MINI VAN, BUT DID NOT INCLUDE MY MAKE AND MODEL. THE ISSUES ARE FOUND IN 2005-2006 CHRYSLER 300C HEMI 5.7L ENGINES. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE HAS GONE SO LONG WITHOUT A RECALL. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED BY STALLING WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. MEANWHILE MY CAR STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED.
