SOME TIME AGO- ABOUT FIVE YEARS ,I PURCHASED A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 TOURING FROM FRANKLIN AUTOMALL- MALL IN FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP -WHAT I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ENDLESS TIMES AND CONCERN THAT THE LUG NUTS THAT HOLD THE WHEELS ON ARE (DEFECTIVE) I HAVE PURCHASE A SET OF NEW LUG NUTS IN THE PAST LAST SET WAS 2013. WHAT IS HAPPENING IS THAT I WENT FOR MY BRAKES TO BE LOOKED AT A PEPBOYS ON 3016-2015IN POMTON PLAINS NJ,THE PROBLEM WAS THERE LUG NUTS COULD NOT BE REMOVED. THESE TYPE LUG NUTS- THE OUTER CASING SEPARATES FROM THE LUG NUT ITSELF, AND SPINS AROUND AND AROUND, DIFFICULTY TO REMOVE LUG NUT(S). ANY KIND OF BRAKE REPAIR OR REMOVING OF A WHEEL.IN EVENT OF A FLAT (I WOULD CERTAINLY BE STUCK.) AND AGAIN PAY FOR NEW STUDS TO BE PUT IN.CHRYSLER HAS NOT CHANGED THESE LUG NUTS THAT I AM AWARE OF- TO BETTER AND MORE EFFICIENT ONES, THAT HAS NO OUTER CASTING THAT SPINS -PREVENTING LUG NUTS TO BE REMOVED. REPLACEMENT SETS-- WERE ANOTHER SET OF LUG NUTS FROM THE CHRYSLER DEALER FROM FRANKLIN SUSSEX COUNTY AUTO MALL,I WAS TOLD AT THAT TIME THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENTS !!!!!!!...ON THURSDAY 3-25-2015 MY CAR IS GOING TO ANOTHER PEPBOYS FOR BRAKES TO BE LOOKED AT IN VERONA NJ. IM SURE I WILL BE THE ONE GETTING STUCK WITH THE BILL .FOR NEW STUDS.IN CLOSING THE PEP BOYS IN POMPTON PLAINS HAD A HARD TOME TO GET THEM OFF AND THE TWO WERE MANGLED I MANAGED TO GET ONE OFF WITH NOT GREAT EASE AT ALL.TWO IN TOTAL-THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL CORRECT THIS CONSTANT PROBLEM WITH THESE BRAND OF LUG NUTS,THE OUTER CASTINGS DON'T HOLD UP IN ANY KIND OF WEATHER AND SMOOTH OUT CONSTANTLY.CREATING THIS OVER AND OVER PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WENT TO A TIRE SHOP TO CHANGE THE TIRES WHERE THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE LUG NUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHEN HE TRIED TO CHANGE THE TIRES A SECOND TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,190.
PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES . HAVE HAD 3 INCIDENCES OF STEM FAILURE RESULTING IN FLAT TIRES. TIRE STEMS WERE REPLACED AT TIRE KINGDOM, PLACE OF PURCHASE. *TR
2006 CHRYSLER 300C HAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT WITH THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM. IT GOES OFF REPEATEDLY WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH AN AUDIBLE BELL SOUNDING AND TIRE PRESSURES BEING DISPLAYED ON THE DIGITAL PANEL OF THE DASHBOARD. PROBLEM STARTED 11-12-08 UNDER MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY. THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION HAS ATTEMPTED 20 TIMES TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION. I HAVE FILED FOR THE LEMON LAW REPLACEMENT THROUGH CHRYSLER WITH NO AVAIL. I HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED BY ANYONE AT CHRYSLER DESPITE MY REPEATED ATTEMPTS AT RESOLVING THIS ISSUE. NOT ONLY HAVE I FILED FOR THE LEMON LAW REPLACEMENT WITHIN CHRYSLER, I HAVE ALSO FILED COMPLAINTS WITH THE BBB OF MICHIGAN, THE KY. ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE WHICH REFERRED ME TO THE NHTSA DUE TO THE SAFETY HAZARDS THAT THE CARS TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM DISPLAYS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN USE. CONSTANTLY WHILE DRIVING THE SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS. CHRYSLER HAS ATTEMPTED REPAIR FOR APPROXIMATELY 11 MONTHS AND HAVE CEASED FROM COMMUNICATING WITH ME AS A CUSTOMER. I AM REQUESTING A FORMAL INQUIRY BY THE NHTSA INTO THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEIR LACK OF COMMUNICATION TO CUSTOMERS TO RESOLVE THESE ISSUES. I HAVE BEEN INCONVENIENCED FOR 11 MONTHS AND AT THIS TIME CARDINAL CHRYSLER LOUISVILLE, KY. 502 449-1900 SERVICE MANAGER CHARLIE TRYA, HAS HAD MY AUTO ATTEMPTING REPAIRS FOR 1, 1/2 MONTHS. CHRYSLER HAS REPLACED THE TIRE SENSORS, THE DASHBOARD DIGITAL CLUSTER, AND THE RECEIVER FOR THE TPM. UNDER THE KENTUCKY AND MICHIGAN LEMON LAW, MY AUTOMOBILE SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. I FEEL THAT CHRYSLER WILL NOT CONTACT ME BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE, AND ACCORDING TO THE LAW HAVE FAILED TO PROPERLY REPAIR THE VEHICLE IN AN TIMELY MANNER. TPM (TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR) LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON, WITH A CORRESPONDING BELL RING, EVERY TIME I USE THE CAR AND OFTEN AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. DEALER HAS SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS AND MANY VISITS ATTEMPTING TO REPAIR SAME WITH NO SATISFACTORY RESULTS. A CALL TO CHRYSLER'S COMPLAINT LINE SUGGESTED THAT I INFLATE THE TIRES WITH NITROGEN! SINCE THE AIR IS 78% NITROGEN TO BEGIN WITH, I FAIL TO SEE HOW THAT WILL HELP. IN ANY EVENT THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE WHICH SEEMS TO BE A CHRYSLER FAULT THAT DEALER CAN'T RESOLVE AND THE PROBLEM IS ONGOING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER 300. THE OWNER'S MANUAL STATED THAT THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CAN TRAVEL A MAXIMUM OF 50 MPH WITH A SPARE TIRE. SHE HAD A SPARE TIRE PLACED ON HER VEHICLE AND SHE COULD ONLY TRAVEL A MAXIMUM OF 35 MPH. THE PAGE WHERE THIS INFORMATION IS REFERENCED IS ENTITLED, "COMPACT SPARE TIRE" ON PAGE 274 OF THE MANUAL. SHE NOTIFIED THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HER TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 48,450. UPDATED 4/25/08 *CN
2006 CHRYSLER 300C W/ CONTINENTAL CONTISEAL 225/60R18 TIRES W/ 23K MILES. CAR RIDING EXTREMELY POOR & WENT TO DEALER. THEY STATED TIRES EGG SHAPED & I NEEDED TO CONTACT CONTINENTAL. THEY ARE ON CONTINENTAL WEBSITE AS TIRE DEALER, BUT DIDN'T WANT TO ASSIST WITH PROBLEM. I WENT TO A DIFFERENT CONTINENTAL DEALER FROM THE SITE, WHO PULLED OFF TIRES, NOTICED 1 TIRE HAD 2 SEVERE SPOTS OF SEPARATION & 3 WERE EGG SHAPED. I WAS INFORMED BY DEALERS THAT CONTISEAL TIRES ALL HAVE POOR LIFE & THE PUNCTURE SEALANT CAUSES THEM TO NEVER STAY IN BALANCE, THUS CAUSING ABNORMAL WEAR & SEPARATION. CONTINENTAL OFFERED 50PERCENT GOODWILL RATE SAYING I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, THOUGH TIRES RATED 60K THEY SAID IT DOES NOT APPLY TO NEW CARS. ALSO TOLD THEY DISCONTINUED THIS BRAND OF TIRE AND "HAD NEW IMPROVED REPLACEMENT SERIES" BECAUSE THEY FOUND HEMI ENGINE CARS ARE TOO HEAVY FOR CONTISEAL SOFT TIRES. I AM ANGRY IT COST ME $400 TO REPLACE TIRES THAT HAD 30 PERCENT USAGE, AS WELL AS BOTH DEALERS SAID ONE TIRE WAS READY TO SEPARATE AT ANY MINUTE & DIDN'T EVEN WANT ME TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME BECAUSE OF THE DANGER. I DO FREEWAY DRIVING AND HAVE AN INFANT IN THE BACK SEAT!! I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS POORLY DESIGNED TIRE & RECALL ISSUED. WHY SHOULD CONSUMERS HAVE TO SHELL OUT MONEY FOR TIRES THAT SHOULD HAVE YEARS OF LIFE LEFT?? I EVEN ASKED CONTINENTAL CUST. SERV. WHY THE 50% RATING, AND HE SAID BECAUSE 1 TIRE HAD THE SEPARATION & THE REST ONLY HAD STARTED THE PROCESS WHICH ONLY MADE MY "DRIVE ROUGH".. I ASKED "IF" IT HAD SEPARATED ON FREEWAY WHAT WOULD THEY HAVE DONE, AND HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE GIVEN ME THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT. I AM APPALLED AT THE DANGER OF THESE TIRES. I HAVE READ COMPLAINTS & THERE IS A CONSISTENT PROBLEM OBVIOUSLY & I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME ACTION TAKEN ON THIS COMPANY & MODEL OF TIRE. I HAVE A 2006 CHRYSLER 300 HEMI. EVERY SINCE I BOUGHT IT, I'VE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY TIRES AND RECENTLY NOTICED THAT THEY ARE WEARING DOWN UNEVENLY AND QUICKLY. I ONLY HAVE 46,000 MILES ON THE CAR. SOON AFTER NOTICING IT, I SAW ON THE NEWS THAT THEY WERE DOING A RECALL ON CONTINENTAL TIRES. LATER ON THAT SAME DAY, I TALKED WITH A FRIEND WHO HAD THE EXACT SAME CAR I HAVE. HE INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD SEEN THE RECALL ON THE NEWS AS WELL. HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD CALLED THE NUMBER THAT WAS GIVEN FOR THE COMPANY AND THAT THEY HAD PAID HIM FOR EACH OF HIS TIRES AND ALSO REPLACED THEM. I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET IN CONTACT WITH THE COMPANY, BUT I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF ANYONE BY PHONE NOR EMAIL. I REALLY NEED TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE RECALL AND HOW I CAN GO ABOUT GETTING MY TIRES REPLACED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. *TR

WHILE THE CONTACT WAS CLEANING THE TIRES, HE NOTICED CRACKS ALONG THE SIDEWALLS AND WHITE WALLS. PRIOR TO DISCOVERING THE FAILURE, HE NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH. THE TIRES HAVE NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNKNOWN. HE NOTICED LUMPS AND BUBBLES ON ALL FOUR TIRES, SOME OF WHICH WERE ON THE TREAD OF THE TIRES. HE COMPLAINED TO THE TIRE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT ALL OF THE TIRES WERE THE SAME. THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TIRES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A NEUTRAL DEALER AND THEY ASKED HIM WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLE THE TIRES WERE MOUNTED ON, AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE. HE HAD TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DEFECTIVE TIRES AND NEW TIRES IN ORDER TO GET ALL NEW TIRES. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 400.
ACQUIRED 2006 300C - 2/1/2006 - W/CONTINENTAL TIRES. NOTICED CUPPING ON LEFT FRONT TIRE AT 3,00 MILES. DEALER CHECKED ALIGNMENT, SUSPENSION, ETC. AND SAID: "EVERYTHING IS WITHIN SPECS" AND ROTATED TIRES. SERVICE ADVISOR STATED TIRES SHOULD BE ROTATED EVERY 3,000 MILES (?????). FOLLOW-UP CALL W/SERVICE MANAGER - STATED THAT THE CONTINENTAL TIRES ARE "VERY SOFT" AND WEAR PREMATURELY. ASKED ABOUT THE "CRADLE MOD" - AND HE STATED THAT THE "CRADLE MOD" AND REVISED ALIGNMENT SPECS WOULD HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO THIS VEHICLE, SINCE IT IS A 2006. LEFT FRONT TIRE IS NOW CUPPING AGAIN AT 6,000 MILES. WHY ARE THESE TIRES PERFORMING SO BADLY WHEN GOODYEAR TIRES (ALSO SHIPPED ON THIS VEHICLE) ARE PERFORMING OK?
