MY GAS PEDAL STICKS. WHEN I TURN ON MY CAR TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPOT THE PEDAL WILL NOT MOVE UNLESS I PUSH DOWN HARD ON IT. TO AVOID HITTING CARS BACKING OUT OR PARKING LOTS YOU HAVE TO USE FORCE ON THE PEDAL TO MOVE THE CAR AND IT JERKS FORWARD FAST WITH NO CONTROL OTHER THAN TO HOLD YOUR FOOT OVER THE BRAKE AT THE SAME TIME SO YOU DO NOT ACCELERATE INTO A VEHICLE.
THE GAS PEDAL STICKS ON THIS VEHICLE WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. WHEN THE CAR DOES FINALLY START MOVING FORWARD IT "JERKS" FORWARD RAPIDLY. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHEN PULLING OUT OF PARK & ALSO WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC. FROM RESEARCHING IT ON THE INTERNET IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE RELATED TO THE THROTTLE BODY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE OUT OF A RESIDENTIAL GARAGE, THE ACCELERATOR BECAME STUCK WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 119,500.

DRIVING DOWN MY RESIDENTIAL STREET, SLOWED DOWN SLIGHTLY TO TURN INTO DRIVE THEN SLOWLY ACCELERATED INTO AND GAS PEDAL STICKS---HAD TO SLAM ON BRAKES TO STOP FROM HITTING SIDE OF GARAGE. THIS IS THE THIRD INCIDENT I HAVE HAD IN WHICH I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING AND THE GAS PEDAL HAS STUCK! *JS
CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED AT 70MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN, RPMS JUMPED TO 4000 AND SPEED STARTED TO INCREASE OUT OF CONTROL. TAPPED THE BRAKE TO DISENGAGE AND DID NOT WORK. PULLED OVER AND PREPARED TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE, HIT THE "CANCEL" BUTTON A COUPLE OF TIMES FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL. CRUISE FINALLY DISENGAGED AND RPMS DROPPED TO NORMAL RANGE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD INTERMITTENTLY BECOME STUCK IN A PARTIALLY DEPRESSED POSITION. IN ORDER TO RELEASE THE PEDAL FORM THAT POSITION, THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY MORE PRESSURE TO THE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WOULD SURGE FORWARD OR BACKWARD WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE INSIDE PORTION OF THE THROTTLE WAS SCRAPED OUT IN ORDER TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE METAL PLATE ON THE THROTTLE GOT STUCK AND THE REMEDY WAS A TEMPORARY FIX. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 74,000.

THE FAILURE OCCURRED MORE THAN FIFTY TIMES. SHE NOTICED WHEN THE VEHICLE ALSO BEGAN TO HESITATE WHEN SHE ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE FAILURE HAD BEEN ON GOING FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER ADVISED HER THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE CLEANED. THE CONTACT AUTHORIZED THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,086.
WHILE DRIVING MY CHRYSLER PACIFIC 2006 I NOTICE THAT THE GAS PEDAL STICKS WHEN PUSHING DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL MAKING THE CAR TAKE OFF FAST. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER DARCARS AND JEEP CHRYSLER OF NEW CARROLLTON MD AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE EQUIP LINE TO THE GAS TANK WAS BROKE I INFORM THEM THAT I DID NOT KNOW HOW THAT COULD HAVE HAPPEN WHEN KNOW ONE HAS EVER WORK ON MY CAR. THE MANAGER WAS NOT CARING AT ALL I TOLD HIM THAT I FELT THAT THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND HE WAS NOT CONCERN WITH THE SAFETY OF MY WELL BEING. I HAVE ALSO CALLED THE CHRYSLER HEADQUARTER AND INFORM THEM ABOUT MY ISSUE WITH THE GAS PEDAL. THIS COULD LEAD TO ME PUSHING ON THE GAS PEDAL TO HARD AND POSSIBLY RUNNING INTO THE BACK OF SOMEONE AND OUR SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENING. MR. MIKE BAYAT WHO IS THE DIRECTOR OF THAT DEALERSHIP DID NOT EVEN GO OUT TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE PROBLEM HE JUST TO HIS TECH WORK AND I FELT THAT THE TECH WAS THE ONE WHO COULD HAVE BROKEN THE LINE. I FELT THAT I WAS TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BECAUSE I AM A WOMEN, I KNOW THAT THEY MAKE THERE MONEY ON HOW MANY REPAIRS THEY DO. MY WARRANTY COVER THIS PART AND I FELT THAT THE PERSON THAT WAS WORKING ON MY CAR WAS TRYING TO GET OVER ON ME. ANOTHER TECH WAS THERE AND HE FELT THAT THE TECH WHO HAD WORK ON MY CAR SHOULD HAVE REPLACE IT UNDER THE WARRANTY. THIS PART IS COVER UNDER THE I HAVE WARRANTY AND THE MANAGER COULD CARE LESS ABOUT MY SAFETY. I LEFT THERE WITH THE GAS PEDAL STILL STICKING AND NO CONCERNS FROM THE DEALERSHIP. *TR

ON THE MOST RECENT FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE ACCELERATOR WAS BROKEN AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE PART FOR THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER BEING PRODUCED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY THIRTY DAYS BEFORE INFORMING THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY CRUISE CONTROL WOULDN'T DIS-ENGAGE WHEN I PRESSED THE CANCEL BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL. I TRIED IT AGAIN AND WHEN I HIT CANCEL IT SPED UP!!. MY WIFE HAS A 2006 CHRYSLER PACIFICA AND AS OF YESTERDAY 2/22/2010 THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL HAS STUCK IN THE UP POSITION 3 TIMES WHILE SHE HAS BEEN DRIVING AND 1 TIME WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON 2/21/10. THE PEDAL STICKS UP SO THAT IT CAN NOT BE PUSHED DOWN. WE HAVE HAD TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART BEFORE WE CAN EASILY PUSH THE PEDAL DOWN.
