As I was driving down a local highway my rear liftgate spoiler broke off my van, hit the road and flew into a field or ditch. Luckily no one was close enough behind me to get hit by the debris. I tried to find the spoiler but was unable to safely find it due to the busy highway. I have not filed a claim with my insurance yet or taken it into a dealer service dept. Just before the spoiler flew off I heard some banging on my rear window but was unable to safely stop to investigate.

I just bought the van while dropping off the kids 10-year-old and a nine-year-old at the schools drop off lane from the driver side rear sliding door while they were coming out of the door. The door closed on them. I had to stick my hand from the back of the drvers seat to stop and it was pushing against my hand .it this has happened three times, it appears that the door is not locking open when it’s commanded to open .
Used key fob to open rear liftgate in order to put packages in , liftgate opened like normal I bent in to place packages inside and the liftgate came backdown and hit my head and then went back up a few inches and came back down again hitting my head again before I had a chance to move out of the way. I had to go to the hospital, I had head and neck pain ,to get checked out and was told I wad whiplash.
The rear drivers side sliding door no longer functions. The issue began when the door would intermittently make a buzzing sound but would not open or close. Shortly after, the door continued the first issue but also began pulsating when it actually would open. Around the same time these issues began, the door started opening by itself while driving. Though i have not had any accidents yet, several near misses have occurred due to the confusion and stress that this generates. The opening while driving issue occurs most often when on the highway. The primary passengers in the rear are children so there is heightened risk based on their very appropriate age based reaction of panic. The door is also no longer opening electronically from the key fob nor from the front seat buttons.
The drivers side sliding door of my 2013 Chrysler Town & Country will not open. It is stuck closed. Mechanic says it is a faulty actuator and will require a $700 repair, for one door. An online search revealed that many other consumers are experiencing this same problem. I'd like to hold Chrysler responsible for this repair. I'm concerned that, in an emergency, my children may not be able to get out of the car. And, if the left door is faulty, how long before the part in the right-side door goes out, too? I do not want to be responsible for $1400 to repair faulty manufacturer parts. Please advise!

NOLAND RD, INDEPENDENCE, MO 64055) AND INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE COUNTRY DODGE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE HEAD RESTRAINT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED CASE NUMBER: 32033245 AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE SLIDING SIDE PASSENGER DOORS ON MY VAN WILL OCCASIONLY CLOSE BY THEMSELVES, JUST AFTER HAVING OPENED THEM TO LOAD PASSENGER. THIS IS EXTREMELY SCARY WHEN THE PASSENGERS ARE MY GRAND CHILDREN. HEARD OF OTHER PROBLEMS LIKE THIS, BUT THEY WERE WITH VEHICLE ON A INCLINE. MINE HAPPEN ON LEVEL SURFACE.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY ON AUG 13TH AROUND 9PM WHEN SUDDENLY THE HOOD OF MY MINIVAN FLEW OPEN AND SMACKED MY WINDSHIELD. EVERYTHING WENT BLACK IN FRONT OF ME DUE TO THE WINDSHIELD SHATTERING AND THE HOOD UP AGAINST THE CAR. I WAS FORCED TO NAVIGATE MYSELF AND MY NEWBORN TWINS ACROSS THE 4 LANE HIGHWAY UNABLE TO SEE A THING. LUCKILY I MADE IT WITHOUT CAUSING A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT. WHEN THE OFFICER ARRIVED HE POINTED OUT THE LATCH OF THE HOOD DID NOT SIMPLY COME UNDONE BUT THE BOLTS WERE ACTUALLY STRIPPED OUT AND THE ENTIRE MECHANISM HAD DEFAULTED. HE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED ME TO CONTACT CHRYSLER. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER THE FOLLOWING MORNING. MY MINIVAN HAS NEVER BEEN WRECKED NOR HAD WE HAD ANY PROBLEMS OR CONCERNS WITH THE HOOD BEFORE. MY MINIVAN STILL REMAINS AT THE BODY SHOP WAITING TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE CHRYSLER CLAIMS THEY ARE IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE VEHICLE.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE AFTER MAKING A U TURN THE BRAKE LOCK UP ON ME CAUSING THE CAR TO ROLL. IT WAS SO DANGEROUS I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OF THE CAR. THERE ARE WORSE CASES, WHEN IM DRIVING UP A HILL IMAGINE THAT...... I JUST ROLLED DOWN THE HIIL, I THOUGHT IT WAS OVER.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE DEALER REFUSING TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY FOR LONGER THAN 22 MONTHS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. ON THE WAY HOME FROM PURCHASING THE VEHICLE I STOPPED TO WALK THE DOGS. I TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND WALKED OVER TO THE PASSENGER SIDE. I OPENED THE DOOR WITH THE DOOR HANDLE. THE DOOR WAS ABOUT 3/4 OPEN WHEN I REACHED IN TO GET THE DOG'S LEASHES. EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR HADN'T COMPLETELY OPENED IT SUDDENLY STARTED CLOSING RAPIDLY. I WAS ABLE TO GET MY HEAD OUT BUT NOT MY ARM. THE DOOR CLOSED ON MY ARM AND TRAPPED ME. IN ORDER TO STOP THE CLOSING DOOR I GRABBED THE DOOR AND PULLED ON THE DOOR WITH MY LEFT HAND AND IT STOPPED. IF I HAD NOT REACTED THIS WAY THE DOOR WOULD HAVE CRUSHED MY ARM. I THEN HAD TO REACH OVER WITH MY LEFT HAND AND USE THE DOOR HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR AND FREE MYSELF. I HAVE A COUPLE OF SCRAPES ON MY ARM, IT IS SLIGHTLY SWOLLEN AND SORE BUT LUCKILY IT DIDN'T BREAK. IF I HADN'T SEEN THE DOOR START TO CLOSE IT COULD HAVE TRAPPED MY HEAD. IF MY DOGS WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE DOORWAY THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THIS VEHICLE IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A SAFETY STOP IF ANYTHING IS IN THE DOORWAY. *TR

CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DEFECTIVE PINCH SENSORS SLIDING AND REAR DOORS IN VEHICLE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED HER DOG WAS ALMOST CRUSHED BY THE SLIDING DOOR, THE DAY AFTER SHE LEASED THE VEHICLE. THE SALESPERSON STATED THE DOOR WOULD STOP, BUT THAT WAS NOT TRUE AS SHE LATER LEARNED WHEN THE SERVICE MANAGER TESTED IT. THOUGH IT WILL STOP WITH PUSH BACK FORCE, A LIMB OR SMALL PERSON WOULD BE CRUSHED. THE SERVICE MANAGER DETERMINED ALL THE OTHER VEHICLES ON THE LOT FUNCTIONED IN THE SAME MANNER. SO IT APPEARED THAT IT WAS NOT AN ISOLATED DEFECT. THE LIFTGATE ALSO REQUIRED INCREASING FORCE TO STOP. AS IT LOWERED, THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO STOP IT, WHEN IT WAS WITHIN A FOOT OR SO OF CLOSING.
