I JUST RECEIVED THE 2ND RECALL NOTICE ABOUT THE REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH, WHICH MAY LEAD TO A DRIVER'S DOOR FIRE. MY LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER TELLS ME THE REPLACEMENT PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAITED FOUR MONTHS FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DELAY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.

DRIVERS VILLAGE IN NEW YORK SOLD ME THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT MENTIONING THIS RECALL AND WITHOUT DISCONNECTING IT TO PREVENT A DRIVER DOOR FIRE. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL ABOUT THE RECALL SOON AFTER PURCHASING IT. IT WAS RECALLING THE VEHICLE FOR THE "REAR QUARTER VENT WINDOW SWITCH" WHICH COULD CAUSE A FIRE IN THE DRIVER-SIDE DOOR. THIS DEALERSHIP IS OBVIOUSLY LOOKING FOR THE DEAL WITH LITTLE TO NO INTEREST IN THE SAFETY OF ITS CUSTOMERS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS DEALERSHIP TO PREVENT THEM FROM POTENTIALLY PUTTING OTHERS IN DANGER. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *TR
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS THE WIPERS WOULD TURN ON WITHOUT BEING PROMPTED. THE WIPER SELECTION WAS TURNED TO AUTOMATIC, AND ON ALL OCCASIONS IT WAS CLEAR SUNNY DAYS. *TR

THE DEALER REPLACED THE SUNROOF MOTOR, FRAME, GLASS, AND THE ELECTRONIC MOTOR DEVICE BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 500.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WOULD CAUSE A GLARE FROM THE LIGHTS REFLECTING FROM THE ROAD, PREVENTING THEM FROM SEEING THROUGH THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED IN THAT MANNER, BUT THEY WOULD FURTHER INSPECT THE VEHICLE.
