"TAKATA RECALL" IN JUNE 2016 FORD (EDGE) ISSUED A RECALL FOR AIRBAGS, NO REMEDY HAS BEEN GIVEN AND IT NOW AUGUST 2018 AND NO REMEDY NOR TIME HAS BEEN GIVEN. THERE IS ALSO NO BUY BACK PROGRAM IN PLACE FOR THOSE WHO NO LONGER WANT THE DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. HOWEVER THEY ARE OFFERING A RENTAL IN ITS PLACE FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. I NO LONGER WANT THE VEHICLE BUT I AM PRETTY MUCH SUCK MAKING PAYMENTS ON A CAR THAT I CANT DRIVE.

I AM REPORTING A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE WARNING MONITOR SENSOR SYSTEMS ON MY 2010 FORD EDGE. AS YOU MAY KNOW THERE IS A 'DOOR AJAR SENSOR' NOTIFICATION SYSTEM NOTIFYING THE DRIVER OF A DOOR BEING AJAR. THE PROBLEM IS THE SENSOR CONSTANTLY FAILS WHEN THE DOOR IS NOT AJAR OR SEEMS TO NOT BE AJAR. THERE ARE SEVERAL PROBLEMS WHEN THERE IS THE DISPLAY ONE: 'NOT SURE DOORS ARE LOCKED, ESPECIALLY WHEN ONE IS TRANSPORTING CHILDREN. 'CAN NOT LOCK THE CAR DOORS ' THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. ALSO, WITH THE GREAT INCREASE IN 'CAR JACKINGS', NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK THE DOORS MAKES THE FAMILY VERY VULNERABLE. 'NEXT, THE DISPLAY LEAVES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON PUTTING AN UNNECESSARY DRAIN ON THE CAR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THIS COULD ADVERSELY SAFETY OF THE OTHER ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS CAUSING A FAILURE IN TRAFFIC. 'THE WARNING MESSAGE NEVER TIMES OUT AND COMPLETELY BLOCKS THE DASHBOARD DISPLAY PREVENTING OTHER WARNING MESSAGES OR THE SYSTEM BACK UP OBSERVATION FROM WORKING. FORD HAS KNOWN OF THIS PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL IN ORDER TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY PROBLEM.
TAKATA INFLATORS: MY COMPLAINT IS WITH YOUR AGENCY AS MUCH AS FORD. TWO YEARS AGO I LEARNED OF THE INFLATOR RECALL. I FINALLY GOT WRITTEN NOTIFICATION FROM FORD JULY 2016. AFTER NO FURTHER CONTACT I CALLED THEM WITH NOTHING FURTHER THEY COULD ADD. CALLED BACK JULY 2017 AND WAS TOLD NO PARTS WERE BEING MADE, JUST DON'T USE 1/4 THE VEHICLE SEATING FOR SAFETY. (NOT AN OPTION.) FOLLOW UP OCTOBER 2017, WORKING WITH A NEW VENDOR...PARTS SOON BUT NO DATE. GOT DECEMBER 2017 LETTER PARTS DELAYED UNTIL EARLY 2018. ITS MARCH. CALLED TODAY, MORE BS. NO PARTS MADE. MAYBE 1ST OR 2ND QUARTER. LADY MADE A U-TURN OUT OF A PARKING LOT A COUPLE WEEKS AGO AND I MISSED HER BY INCHES. WORRY EVERY TIME WE DRIVE IT OFTEN WITH GRANDKIDS IN CAR. NHTSA HAS DONE NOTHING WE HAVE OBSERVED TO FINE OR OTHERWISE HOLD FORD ACCOUNTABLE/MOTIVATE THEM. I SUSPECT THEY PAY LOBBYIST TO PRESSURE YOUR AGENCY TO IGNORE THIS PROBLEM. THEY HAD NO PROBLEM GETTING THEIR NEW CARS OUT THESE LAST TWO MODEL YEARS. TIRED OF MY FAMILIES LIVES BEING AT RISK DAILY, BUT CAN NOT GET OUT FROM UNDER THIS CAR AT THIS TIME AND WHO WOULD WANT TO BUY IT. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE RALPH NADER DAYS WHEN COMPANIES WERE FINED INTO MOTIVATION TO DO THE RIGHT THING INSTEAD OF WORRYING ABOUT THEIR PROFITS. I'M TIRED OF WORRYING ABOUT THIS PROVEN DEADLY FAULT. FORD HAS VERIFIED WE ARE PART OF THE HIGH RISK GROUP BECAUSE OF HUMIDITY. GET OFF YOUR BUTS AND GET US SOME HELP PLEASE!
REAR DRIVER SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT STOPPED WORKING, FOUND REAR LIGHT SOCKET BURNT AND MELTING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND MAY PRESENT A HAZARD . ENCLOSED PICTURES OF THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER BACK TAIL LIGHT SOCKETS

THIS IN REGARDS TO MY 2010 FORD EDGE VEHICLE, AND THE AIR BAGS RECALL OF JULY 2016. THE FIRST NOTICE OF THIS RECALL CAME TO ME 7/01/2016. I FILED COMPLAINT #11192472 IN 2019 AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO FIND OUT FROM THE LOCAL FORD DEALER THE STATUS OF FORD HAVING THE NECESSARY EQUIPMENT FOR THE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT FOR THIS RECALL. THEY HAD NOT HEARD FROM FORD AT THAT LAST CONTACT IN MARCH 2019 REGARDING THE NEEDED PARTS. I HAVE NOT CONTACTED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER SINCE, AS THEY COULD NOT GET ANY INFORMATION ABOUT IF AND WHEN FORD WOULD HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO THE DEALERS TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPLACEMENT. WHEN WILL THIS ISSUE BE ADDRESSED WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY, AND HOW SOON WILL IT BE WHEN THE REPLACEMENT PARTS AND REPAIRS WILL BE SENT OUT TO LOCAL DEALERSHIPS FOR THE REQUIRED SERVICE? IT HAS BEEN 5 YEARS SINCE THE ORIGINAL NOTICE.
WHEN STOPPING VEHICLE BRAKING BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND STOPPING POWER DRASTICALLY REDUCED. DEFINITE LOSS OF POWER BRAKING. HISSING SOUND EVERY TIME BRAKES ARE ENGAGED. IF BRAKES ARE FIRMLY PRESSED FOR ANY EXTENDED PERIOD, A LOUD WHISTLING SOUND IS HEARD. VEHICLE IS OPERATED IN CITY STREETS. ON HILLS, CONSTANT PRESSURE IS NEEDED TO KEEP FROM ROLLING BACKWARDS. HAD VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC WHO ADVISED IT IS THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND ADVISED FORD HAD A RECALL ON CERTAIN FORDS FOR BRAKE BOOSTER ISSUES.

THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MOON ROOF FAILED TO CLOSE. THE FAILURE PROGRESSED AND THERE WAS A STRONG VIBRATION IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE MOON ROOF BEING OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
Brakes are hard to push and they squeal, This is after several repairs. I have had front and rear pads and rotors replaced, replaced the power brake booster. Also I bought this car new and every time I am applying the brakes and turning the steering wheel to the left something underneath hits on the break and you can hear it and feel it.

VOTH TAIL LIGHT/TURN SIGNAL BULBS ARE MELTED IN THEIR SOCKETS AND THE SOCKETS THEMSELVES ARE BURNT
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A MAIN HIGHWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STARTED SURGING AND THE RPMS WERE FLUCTUATING THEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED RAPIDLY UNTIL SPEED REACHED ABOUT 72 MPH. I HAD TO TURN CRUISE CONTROL OFF FOR THE SPEED TO DROP BACK DOWN.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED IN THE US AND THEN PURCHASED SECOND HAND BY MYSELF IN LATE 2010 AND REGISTERED IN ONTARIO CANADA SINCE. ON ABOUT THE ENTERED DATE I IDENTIFIED STRONG GASOLINE SMELL AND SOME LEAKAGE BELOW THE GAS TANK. I INVESTIGATED FORD RECALL INFO AND FOUND THAT THE CAR WAS SUBJECT TO A RECALL FOR LEAKING GAS TANKS (FORD # 15S31), (NHTSA ITEM LISTING DATE 2015-10-27). AFTER CALLING LOCAL DEALERS IN BOTH CANADA AND US, I WAS INFORMED BY BOTH THAT MY PARTICULAR VIN DID NOT APPEAR ON THE RECALL LIST. I CALLED BOTH CANADIAN AND US FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AGAIN THEY ONLY CONFIRMED THAT MY VINE DID NOT APPEAR ON THE LIST. THE RECALL CRITERIA STATES THAT EDGES BUILT BEFORE JULY 2010 ARE PART OF THE RECALL. MY BUILD DATE IS LATE 2009 AND FITS THE CRITERIA. ALSO AMONG THE US STATES AND CANADIAN PROVINCES THAT FIT THE CRITERIA, ONTARIO IS ONE OF THE RECALLED PROVINCES. THIS ALSO QUALIFIES MY VEHICLE. NO ONE HAS GIVEN ME AN ANSWER WHY MY CAR DOES NOT QUALIFY. PRESENTLY, THE CAR IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD, WHICH I CANNOT DRIVE AND WHICH IS ENDANGERING MY PROPERTY AND FAMILY AND THAT OF MY NEIGHBORS. ON THE STATED DATE, MY SON PULLED THE HANDLE TO RELEASE THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR AND THE DOOR DID NOT OPEN. I HAVE TRACED THE PROBLEM TO A DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM. THE CABLE IS INTACT AND THE PROBLEM IS INSIDE THE DOOR LATCH. I AM OF THE OPINION THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NOT ONE THAT I THE CONSUMER SHOULD HAVE TO BEAR THE BURDEN OF PARTS AND LABOR.
