TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS AND FAILED TO RESPOND WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT CALLED TOWN & COUNTRY FORD (LOCATED AT 5041 FORD PARKWAY BESSEMER, AL 35022) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,983.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE PEDAL TRAVELED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,500. *TT
I WAS AT A STOPPED LIGHT WHEN THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR LOCKED UP AND BEGAN SHAKING. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN. I WASN'T ABLE TO USE THE GAS OR BRAKES SO I TURNED THE CAR BACK OFF IMMEDIATELY AGAIN. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE WATER PUMP BURST AND ALL OF THE COOLANT RAN INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING IT TO FAIL. I'VE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR FIVE YEARS AND MAINTENANCE HAS ALWAYS BEEN UP TO DATE VIA FORD DEALERSHIPS. DURING THESE VARIOUS MAINTENANCE CHECKS, FORD HAS NEVER NOTIFIED ME OF ANY POSSIBLE ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE AND NOW MY ENGINE HAS FAILED AND I'VE NEVER HAD ANY OTHER ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY A LIGHT THAT LOOKS LIKE A WRENCH COMES ON, THE VEHICLE STARTS RUNNING ROUGH AND THEN THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF, IT'S HARD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS PROBLEM HAS REPEATED ITSELF 4 TIMES ONLY WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE AND REMOVING THE KEY, I CAN RE-START THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUE. ONCE IT HAPPENED AGAIN MAYBE 2 MINUTES LATER. MY MECHANIC BELIEVES IT IS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY PART. HE ALSO TOLD ME FORD HAS HAD A RECALL ON THIS SPECIFIC PART ON EDGE'S.
MY POWER BOOSTER FOR BRAKES FAILED. THERE WAS A BULLETIN FOR MY MAKE AND MODEL HOWEVER FORD CLAIMED THAT BECAUSE IT WAS MADE AT ANOTHER PLANT IT DID NOT FIT THE CRITERIA. IT HAD THE SAME ISSUES AS THE VEHICLES MADE IN THE OTHER PLANT, I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN COVER IT FROM ONE LOCATION AND NOT ANOTHER. THE CAR ONLY HAS 107K MILES AND IS 7 YEARS OLD. THEIR BULLETIN COVERED 150K MILES OR 10 YEARS MAKING ME BELIEVE SINCE WE CAME UNDER ALL OF THAT IT IS A DEFECT ISSUE.
WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND STARTED HEARING A HISSING NOISE, MADE THAT NOISE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. NOW IT'S LIKE MY BRAKE PEDAL LOCKS UP, IT SLOWS IT DOWN BUT I HAVE TO PUSH IT AGAIN REALLY HARD TO STOP THE CAR.. I READ SOME TROUBLE SHOOTING ON THE BRAKE SYSTEM OF THE EDGE AND FROM WHAT I READ IT'S POSSIBLY THE BOOSTER. I KNOW IT'S VERY DANGEROUS.
2010 FORD EDGE TRASMISSION. AFTER DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND THEN COME TO A STOP. WHEN YOU START TO GO AGAIN THE TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT GOES TO NEUTRAL AND THEN SLAMS INTO DRIVE. SOMETIMES IT TAKES LESS THAN A SECOND TO CORRECT ITSELF AND SOMETIMES ITS 2-3 SECONDS BEFORE IT GOES. IT HAS HAPPEND ALMOST EVERY TIME WE DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE.

TAKATA RECALL WITH STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE, IT'S BEEN YEARS! I LIVE WHERE 90% HUMIDITY IS A REGULAR DAY. NHTSA HAS TAKEN OVER MANAGEMENT OF THE RECALLS TO MAKE SURE REPLACEMENT INFLATORS GET TO HIGH-HUMIDITY AREAS ALONG THE GULF COAST FIRST. WHEN IS NHTSA GOING TO GET THIS DONE?

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MASTER BRAKE OF APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER THE CONTACT'S EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND TRANSFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000. TAKATA RECALL--FORD WILL NOT FIX AIRBAGS. WAS TOLD BY AC COLLINS FORD. THAT THEIR ARE NO PARTS.. THE RECALL WAS OVER A YEAR AGO. EVERYTIME WE GET IN THIS CAR, WE ARE TAKING OUR LIFE IN DANGER!!!! FORD NEEDS TO FIX THE AIRBAGS. AND NOT GIVE US A RUN AROUNG!! FORD HAD TAKATA PUT THE AIRBAGS IN AND THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE!!

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, A HISSING SOUND WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL LOCATION. THE BRAKE PEDAL FELT SPONGY AND/OR HARD ON OCCASIONS, WHICH MADE THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO STOP AND INCREASED THE STOPPING DISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (BOB TOMES FORD IN MCKINNEY, TEXAS), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FELT ABNORMAL. IT TOOK EXTRA EFFORT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT OF A MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATION NUMBER: CSP-13N02 (SERVICE BRAKES). THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT MEET THE EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER, GEORGE WALL FORD LINCOLN ON 700 SHREWSBURY AVE, RED BANK, NJ 07701, WHERE AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED FOR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000.

MY REAR TURN SIGNALS HAVE BEEN WORKING INTERMITTENTLY LATELY AND I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE BULB. WHEN I WENT TO REPLACE THE BULB I NOTICED THAT THE BULB SOCKET APPEARS TO BE BURNT. I IMMEDIATELY WENT ONLINE TO SEE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE AND REALIZED THAT THERE ARE A BUNCH OF OTHER FORD EDGES OUT THERE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I FELT IT WAS NECESSARY TO REPORT IT IN CASE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD RESULT IN A FIRE. THE FORD DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW OF ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS, YET WHEN I LOOK ONLINE, I SEE A WHOLE LOT WITH THE SAME ISSUE.

THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER (JOHNSON CITY FORD 207 PRINCETON ROAD JOHNSON CITY, TN 37601) TO BE REPAIRED. WHILE THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LANCE CUNNINGHAM FORD (4101 CLINTON HWY, KNOXVILLE TN, 37912) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PREVIOUS RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED INCORRECTLY AND DAMAGED THE WIRING HARNESS, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DEALER WITNESSED EXPOSED WIRES AND ZIP TIED SENDING UNIT CABLES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT AN INVESTIGATION WAS IN PROCESS WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EXPOSED WIRES WERE ABOVE THE FUEL TANK AREA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 130,115.
TAKATA RECALL - THE 2010 FORD EDGE HAS A FLAW WITH THE SEAT TRACK. THE VEHICLE SEAT TRACK APPEARS TO BE STRETCHED OPEN OVER PROLONGED USE AND BEGINS TO ROCK BACK AND FORTH WITH ACCELERATING AND BRAKING. THIS CONCERN IS THE SEAT TRACK MAY STRETCH TO A POINT WHERE IT WILL SEPARATE FROM BASE AND TRACK IN A MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH. I'VE ALSO DISCOVERED THROUGH ON LINE CHECKS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD EDGE, EXPLORER AND SEVERAL OTHER VEHICLES FORD MANUFACTURES.
POWER TRANSFER UNIT IS LEAKING. I SEE THROUGH RESEARCH AND TALKING WITH DEALERS THEY REPLACE A LOT OF THESE PTU'S. REPLACEMENT WITH PARTS AND LABOR IS $1,800.
STARTED HAVING BRAKE PROBLEMS - BRAKES BECAME ROCK HARD AND THEN SPONGY AT TIMES- HAD A HARD TIME STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND HOLDING THE VEHICLE WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT - VERY SCARY - TWO DIFFERENT SHOPS BEFORE TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP - BRAKE BOOSTER IS BAD. $740 TO FIX. APPARENTLY OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. CALLED FORD BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL THEY HAD. I WAS TOLD TO HOLD ON TO MY RECEIPTS IN CASE ANOTHER RECALL CAME UP.
MY CAR STARTED LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID, AND AS I CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT IT STARTED TO CUT OFF. I TOOK IT TO TWO DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOPS FOR SECOND OPINION. THEY BOTH TOLD ME THAT THE ENGINE WAS GONE. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT, AND IT'S A 2010 HOW CAN THAT BE? I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ENGINE RECALL FOR THIS CAR. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR AN ENGINE PLEASE HELP ME BECAUSE THIS IS NOT RIGHT. I KNOW THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL ON A FUEL LEAK FOR THIS MODEL CAR. MARCH19, 2017 WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH FROM OUR NEIGHBORHOOD TO CHURCH WITH MY WIFE, THERE WAS A LOUD CLUNKING FROM FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. WE TURNED ONTO THE MAIN ROAD AND AS SPEED INCREASED TO 55 MPH, THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED AND I NOTICED THE HOOD OF CAR WAS RAISED UP ABOUT AN INCH ABOVE THE FENDER. WE IMMEDIATELY TURNED AROUND AND DROVE SLOWLY BACK TO THE HOUSE. THE ATTACHED PHOTOS SHOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THERE IS CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE SHEET METAL BODY COMPONENTS, WINDSHIELD, PLASTIC PARTS. THERE ARE MANY SIMILAR EXAMPLES OF THE STRUT TOWER SPOT WELD FAILURE REPORTED ON THE INTERNET. ALL SEEM TO BE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION AND RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO A DEALER TO REPLACE THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE DEALER (RAY PEARMAN LINCOLN, 2501 BOB WALLACE AVE SW, HUNTSVILLE, AL 35805, (256) 536-7451) AND THE MANUFACTURER INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM A SERVICE CAMPAIGN AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION OTHER THAN THE PART BEING REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN THAT IF THE PART WAS REPLACED THE FAILURE WOULD NOT RECUR. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V384000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO SOLUTION AND WAS CONTACTED TO DETERMINE WHEN THE AIR BAG RECALL REPAIR WOULD BE PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 FORD EDGE. WHILE STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE REVERSE POSITION AND THE KEYS WERE REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE ROLLED BACKWARDS INTO A POND. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE POND TO THE CONTACT'S DRIVEWAY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000.
WHEN PULLING AWAY FROM A DEAD STOP ,THE TRANSMISSION WILL OCCASIONALLY NOT ENGAGE WHICH FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING INTO A "NEUTRAL" FEELING AND THEN WILL BANG INTO GEAR . IT ALSO FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP OUT GEAR AND THEN REENGAGE WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. LAST THE ACCELERATION IS NOT THERE WHEN MERGING INTO HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR JUST ACCELERATING ,THE GAS PEDDLE IS PUSHED BUT THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE CAUSING A RISKY SITUATION WHEN TRAFFIC IS BEARING DOWN ON YOU AND YOU CAN NOT GET SAFELY UP TO HIGHWAY SPEEDS.

TAKATA RECALL: WE STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO HAVE THESE AIRBAGS REPLACED AS THE DEALER AS WELL AS FORD SAYS THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. HOW MUCH LONGER? SHOULD WE WAIT AND COMPLAIN AGAIN AFTER A CRASH AND AN INJURY OCCURS?

JUST BOUGHT USED FORD EDGE AND FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL ON IT AND FORD DEALER SAYS I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE PREVIOUS OWNER DIDN'T GET IT FIXED
I RECENTLY HAD TO REPLACE POWER STEERING LINES IN MY VEHICLE DUE TO METAL CORROSION RUSTING THROUGH THE LINES AND CAUSING THE FLUID TO LEAK OUT, THIS ISSUE HAS REPEATEDLY CAUSED MY CAR TO GO OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND HAS RUINED MY TIRES. THE POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY TO THE POINT OF BEING DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF IT. BECAUSE MY CAR IS ONLY 7 YEARS OLD I AM WONDERING IF THIS CORROSION WOULD BE COVERED BY SOME SORT OF WARRANTY OR IF THIS IS UNDER RECALL? ESPECIALLY SINCE MY CAR IS UNDER RECALL FOR GAS TANK AND AIR BAG CORROSION. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO FORD AS WELL. THE REPAIR JUST OF THE POWER STEERING LINES COST ME $500. I STILL NEED TO REPLACE ALL FOUR TIRES AS WELL. THIS DEFECT IS DANGEROUS. METAL PARTS SHOULD NOT BE CORRODING ON CARS.
TAKATA DIRS 16E-042, 16E-043, 16E-044. RECALL NOTICE FROM JUNE/2016. TRYING TO SCHEDULE SERVICE FOR THE RECALL AND THE DEALER SAYS THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE YET. IT'S BEEN 6 MONTHS SINCE THE RECALL.
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, MY CAR WOULD MAKE A HISSING SOUND. SOMETIMES THE BRAKE WOULD FEEL HARD, BUT HERE RECENTLY THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD MORE OF A SPONGY FEEL. THIS HAD BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL MONTHS WITHOUT NOTICEABLE ISSUES RELATED TO THE BRAKING PERFORMING. THAT WAS UNTIL YESTERDAY. THE HISSING NOISE WAS STILL PRESENT AND THE PEDAL WOULD GO DOWN ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND WOULD NOT STOP PROPERLY FOR ME WHEN I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A STOP. IF THE PEDAL WAS HELD DOWN, A SQUEALING NOISE THEN OCCURRED. I RESEARCHED ONLINE TO SEE IF THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH OTHER FORD EDGE OWNERS, AND I CAME ACROSS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT FORD RELEASED IN 2014 TITLED, "13N02." THE EXTENDED WARRANTY TALKED ABOUT AN ISSUE THAT HAD BEEN OCCURRING IN FORD EDGE MODELS MADE BETWEEN 2010-2013. THE DESCRIPTION OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES WAS SPOT ON WITH WHAT I HAD JUST EXPERIENCED WITH MY VEHICLE AND I MET THE PROGRAM TERMS DUE TO MY CAR BEING LESS THAN 10 YEARS OLD AND UNDER 150,000 MILES. I IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE MY CAR REPAIRED. TO MY SURPRISE, THE MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED BASED ON MY VIN NUMBER. WE THEN QUICKLY DISCOVERED IT WAS DUE TO MY CAR BEING BUILT FIVE DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCLUDED DATE ON THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE WARRANTY COVERED VEHICLES FROM MAY 3, 2010-MARCH 28, 2013. MY VEHICLE WAS MADE ON APRIL 28, 2010. THE STAFF AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS EITHER. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT THE DATES ON THE WARRANTY SHOULD BE ADJUSTED. I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE MY BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED FOR THE SAME SERVICE OTHERS WERE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE AND A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD THAT NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT TO FORD'S ATTENTION BEFORE PEOPLE ARE KILLED RELATED TO THIS ISSUE. *TR

SUDDEN ENGINE FAILURE AT 65,000 MILES WHEN DRIVING AT ABOUT 45 MILES PER HOUR. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SERVICED SAID THERE WAS A LOSS OF ANTIFREEZE AND THE ENGINE OVERHEATED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I WAS STRANDED ON THE AIRPORT ROAD WITH NO FEEDER AND HAD TO CALL 911. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHTS TO GO ON OR ANY WARNING. WHEN READING OTHER POST ON INTERNET THE CAR BEHAVED JUST AS THOSE WHO HAD CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS A WATER PUMP FAILURE. THIS WAS THE FORD DURATEC ENGINE WHERE THE WATER PUMP IS DRIVEN WITH THE TIMING CHAIN AND IF IT FAILS THE WATER ENTERS THE OIL SYSTEM AND DESTROYS THE ENGINE.
WE DID NOT HAVE AN INCIDENT YET, BUT WE DONT WANT TO WAIT FOR ONE TO TO HAPPEN. RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER THAT OUR PASSENGER AIR BAG NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND TEMECULA FORD DEALER AND THE LAKE ELSINORE FORD DEALER TOLD US THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL.
TAKATA RECALL FORD HAS RECALLED THIS CAR, BUT CANNOT FIX IT AND WILL NOT PROVIDE A LOANER. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER SIX MONTHS.

CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 800-392-3673 AND DESCRIBED MY PROBLEM AS FOLLOWS...BRAKES STARTED SOUNDING LIKE AIR WAS LEAKING OUT, BUT BRAKES CONTINUED TO WORK. TODAY, I WAS SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE CAR KEPT SURGING FORWARD, EVEN WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSFER CASE WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN THE DEALER'S POSSESSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
DEC 17,2016 A SEVERE JERKING WHILE DRIVING ON A VILLAGE MAIN ST. WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. I STOPPED CAR, GOT CAR MANUAL, SAW THAT IT WAS POWER TRAIN PROBLEM. I BEGAN GOOGLING AND WILL SEE MY MECHANIC ON MONDAY. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 3WKS AGO I LOST DRIVING POWER AND DROVE MY WIFE TO WORK ON IDLE POWER. WHEN I GOT HOME I SHUT OFF CAR AND STARTED AGAIN AND IT WORKED OK (EXCEPT FOR MILD JERKING) UNTIL NOW (3WKS LATER). MY MECHANIC SAID (AFTER 1ST INCIDENT) THAT IT WAS A THROTTLE PROBLEM, ALTHOUGH HE FOUND NO CODE ERROR. MY WIFE AND I LOVE THIS CAR AND SO DO OUR LITTLE NIECE AND NEPHEW, BUT IT IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. WE JUST GOT BACK FROM TEXAS (4000 MI) BEFORE ALL THIS HAPPENED AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. BRAKE BOOSTER HAS FAILED, AND NOW ENGINE WON'T IDLE PROPERLY AND STALLS DUE TO VACUUM LEAK FROM THE BAD BRAKE BOOSTER. I HAD REPORTED SYMPTOMS (HISSING, OCCASIONAL HARD PEDAL, ETC.) DURING SERVICE VISITS WHILE MY "BUMPER TO BUMPER" WARRANTY WAS STILL IN EFFECT, BUT WAS TOLD IT WAS "NOISE FROM THE NEW BRAKE PADS" AND IT JUST NEEDED THE BRAKE FLUID TOPPED OFF. SYMPTOMS PERSISTED, BUT THEN SERVICE BULLETIN 13N02 WAS ANNOUNCED, AND BECAUSE MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED 2 MONTHS BEFORE THE DATES COVERED IN THE SERVICE BULLETIN THE DEALERSHIP HAS STILL REFUSED TO COVER THE COSTS. SO I NOW HAVE A 2010 EDGE THAT IS NOT ONLY HARD TO STOP, BUT ALSO NOW STALLS OUT WHEN IT DOES STOP!
